[Date: Saturday, January 19th. Time: 2:50] [The weather is cold; minor flurries float about, but little worry of any "real" snowfall. Shingo is sitting in the classroom of his last class when the bell rings, indicating class has ended.] [Session Start] * Shingo puts away his books and runs out to try and find the girls, like he said he would. [Shingo succeeds, coming across them near the lockers.] * Katie sits outside her locker, sketchbook on her lap. Katie! * Shingo skids to a stop near Katie. * Taki looks up from looking over Katies' shoulder at the sketchbook. "Hiya Shingo!" * Katie doesn't look up. "Hi Shingo." She continues sketching. Hi, Taki. * Taki goes back to watching Katie draw. * Katie frowns and reaches for the eraser. She scrubs a line out and switches back to her pencil. * Taki tries to figure out what Katie is drawing. ( It's Kirby! ) (It is not!) * Katie sets the fine pencil down and reaches for a thicker one, then starts shading. Wow, you're good! I wish I could draw like that. I can't even get stickfigures to come out right. ^_^ It's a matter of practice. * Katie laughs quietly. "Lots of practice, yeah." [A familiar girl comes bounding up to the group.] * Chikako bound up and immediately holds a copy of the school newspaper out so they can see. "Hi Katie! Hi Shingo! Hi Taki! Look! Another one vanished yesterday!" * Katie still doesn't look up. "Hi Chikako." * Katie blinks and stops shading. *Now* she looks up. It's only been two days between the last two disappearances. It's very odd. Isn't that cool?" Another one? Who? * Chikako nodnods. "Very close to the last one. It's a real mystery. That's so cool!" Who vanished? So much for them having stopped. * Shingo furrows his brow. Hiro Kasuga, from class 3-E. I did the article. Isn't that cool? Yeah. Would have been too good to be true, I guess. Can I see the article? * Chikako hands Katie the paper. "I'm off to dig up more information on the case. Then I can get the scoop for Monday's paper. Won't that be cool?" * Chikako hurries off. "Bye!" Bye! Goodluck! * Katie starts reading the article. "Bye Chikako." What's it say? [The article describes how a junior, Hiro Kasuga from class 3-E, vanished without a trace. There's a pic of the guy on the front page. (mind rolls)] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6) and gets 10. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6) and gets 8. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shingo (2d6) and gets 9. (Er... Can I reroll?) (Gonna do it. :P) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6) and gets 9. (... Um. Again. What the heck.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6) and gets 9. ( ... ) (Right. Dicesuke, you suck.) ( ...dude. ) (He's just being vicious today, I suppose. Blew Divine Relationship for it, though. ;_;) [None of you recognize the guy on the page] (Having one fourth of the rolls come out 11 is not normal) * Katie skims the article. "Hiro Kasuga, huh." She looks for a report on where he was last seen. [According to the article, he was last seen yesterday, quickly rushing out the school doors] * Katie blinks. No way. Hmmm? * Katie hands the article to Shingo, so he can get a look. Look at when he was last seen. * Shingo scans the article. * Taki tries to look at the article too. ...Saki. Yup. But I thought her brother stopped her. * Katie lifts her sketchbook and blows soft lead and eraser bits off of it. That's our next stop, then. No, Taki. Saki was chasing Hiro out the doors, remember? Oh yeah, wrong angry teen. ^_^; Might not have anything to do with Kyoko. Wouldn't count on it, though. * Katie opens her satchel and deposits her sketchbook there, along with art supplies. There are no coincidences. Maybe, maybe not. I tend to agree with you, though. So...even when you need some change, and then you see some on the ground ...somebody was responsible? _Somebody_ had to drop the change. In any case, let's go find Saki. * Katie nods and stands, slinging her satchel over her shoulder. * Taki blinks. "Uh...right." * Shingo shoulders his pack again. * Taki actualy remembers her bag this time and swings it over one shoulder. * Shingo heads for the stairs up to the roof. * Katie walks after Shingo. * Taki walks alongside Katie. * Shingo goes to the stairway and heads up. * Katie keeps following. To her doom! Yay! [The group arrives at the roof! There's two people there already: A green-haired girl leaning against a wall, smoking a cigarette, and a dark haired man in a trenchcoat, hands folded on the hilt of a katana as though it were a cane. They both look up as you enter.] * Shingo looks at the pair. * Katie blinks and glances around. "No Saki," she murmurs. Hello! Is Saki out here? * Shingo directs his question at the pair. [The group recognizes the girl as Eriko Miyashita, and Ryuji Hazuki.] ... Does it look like she is? She could be hidden from my sight. * Eriko puffs on her cigarette. Do you know where we can find her, then? Why? You tick her off or something? No, then we'd be trying very hard not to find her. * Katie nods. * Ryuji frowns at Eriko, and speaks to the group. His voice is very calm and quiet. "Saki took off after sixth period. She was going to the construction area near the bay." * Katie blinks. Thank you. * Shingo bows and starts back down the stairs. I wonder what's out there, Thanks. * Katie bows. "Thanks." She hurries after Shingo. * Eriko looks up at Ryuji, then shrugs. * Taki gives a quick bow and runs after them. * Katie sighs as she walks. "It's off to the construction area, I guess." [The group goes down the stairs, presumably back to the lockers.] * Katie stops by her locker and grabs her jacket. [The jacket fails it's unarmed defense: grabs roll, and Katie succeeds.] (HA!) * Katie pulls the jacket on. "Either of you have to tell your... guardians about staying out late tonight?" * Shingo stops at his locker and grabs his jacket, too. It's not a very good jacket, but it keeps the cold out. Mostly. It depends on how late. Okay. How late is too late? If it's more than a few hours, I'll probably catch some flak for it. * Katie nods. * Taki goes to her locker and grabs a jacket. "I think I should leave Dad a note, he tends to worry." Okay. Maybe we should do that first. I already told my parents that I have a study group tonight. I figured I'd be staying after school, anyway. * Katie shakes her head as she walks towards the doors. "They were too happy about it. Their is spending time with people again." Our place isn't too far from here, it shouldn't take too much... ::facepalms:: This will take even less time than I thought! Now, where's a payphone? [There is a payphone on the corner of the block across from the school.] * Katie pushes open one of the doors and holds it for the other two. * Shingo walks through and over to the payphone. Thanks Katie! Phone...phone... Aha! There it is! * Katie giggles and walks over to the phone, too. * Shingo looks around for any decently sized rocks, maybe the size of his fist or so. * Taki picks up the headset, deposits money, dails, and waits for the answering machine to pick up. [Shingo doesn't find any. This is a civilized part of town :P] * Katie taps her foot. Hi Dad! It's me, I'm going out with some friends and I'll probibly be late, There should still be leftovers from last night in the fridge. Seeya when I get home! * Taki hangs up. * Katie nods. You need to make a call too, Shingo? I suppose that it likely can't hurt. * Shingo checks his pockets for some way to pay for the call. * Katie digs in her pocket for some change, which she hands to Shingo. * Taki mutters to herself "Please let him not try to cook anything. Please Kami, I don't want to spend another afternoon scraping out the rice cooker." * Katie snickers. Your dad can't cook? ( Kami responds: "Okay! I'll make him order Chinese." ) * Shingo dials the orphanage headmaster. * Taki nods. "I learned how out of self defence." * Katie grins. Anything more complicated than "Place in microwave, wait, spread sauce." tends to wind up a charcoal. * Shingo speaks into the phone slowly and clearly. ( Bah. That's better than I can do. Curse that 3rd step. :P ) (Bwahaha!) (Snark!) Headmaster, this is Shingo calling from outside the school. I may be late tonight, I'm going to be spending the afternoon with schoolmates in pursuit of knowledge. * Shingo hangs up. * Shingo steps out of the booth. Told the truth all the way. Nice job. Lying was not necessary. * Taki nods. * Katie shrugs as she starts walking to the subway. "No point in lying when the truth will do, yup." * Shingo follows that Page! * Taki walks after that Knight! (... You just had to do that, didn't you.) ( ...yes, yes I did. ) (Just wait until the Queen shows up. :P) [The group gets to the bay area quickly, on account of Tokyo's subway being quick and effecient (unlike Philly's). They arrive at the bay, which while being primarily a place of work, is still open to the public (not that there's much to do around there)] * Katie takes a look around. "Okay, now to find her in all of this." Where's this construction site? I don't know, I suppose we'll look for cranes or something. * Katie nods. Or ask someone. Not all construction areas use cranes. * Taki nods and looks around for sombody who looks like they might be able to point them in the right direction. [Taki stops a man carrying a crate.] "Yes?" Hi, We're looking for a friend, she's supposed to be near a construction site around here, but we forgot to ask where exactly. ^_^; Could you please help us? "Construction site?" He points. "Down that way, past warehouse #12. But the construction site's off-limits to non-personel, you know." Thanks, and thanks for the warning. "You betcha." He goes off on his business. * Taki walks back to the other two and points dramaticly "That way!" * Shingo blinks. * Shingo starts walking. * Katie chuckles. "Yeah, Taki. I heard." She walks thataway. Hee. ::walks:: [The group walks. It's a fair distance, despite the terrain being mostly paved and flat.] * Katie stuffs her hands in her pockets. "Wonder what she's doing there." [Eventually they get to an area surrounded by a makeshift wooden wall, behind which several steel beams and a partially complete building rise.] * Katie shields her eyes from the sun with one hand and looks up at the building. (How tall, and do I see anything unusual?) I don't know, Enjoying the fresh sea air? ::shivers:: [There's nothing terribly unusual that you can see from where you're standing. Just a half-complete building behind a wall.] ( How tall a wall? ) [Mmm.... 8 1/2 ft.] * Katie walks up to the wall and raps her knuckles against it, then starts following until she reaches a door or gate or something. * Shingo shrugs and follows. [Katie reaches a small gate in the wall. It's locked with a padlock.] * Taki walks along and looks around. * Katie cups the padlock in one hand. "Hrm." Hmmm. Any ideas? Taki can probably vanish in, but then I don't know how we would follow. Hmm? * Shingo steps up and takes hold of the lock. * Katie backs away. I could probably take you with me, but I don't allway...Ooh I've wanted to see this. Yeah. * Katie watches Shingo with interest. * Shingo starts working the lock with his fingers, trying to shape it into something else. Maybe a dagger, maybe a knife, maybe something else entirely. d12 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shingo (d12) and gets 7. [The lock forms into a small knife.] * Shingo flips the knife end over end and catches it by the handle. * Katie stares. "Can I see that?" Sure. * Shingo offers the knife to Katie, hilt first. * Taki claps her hands. "Wow." I believe this is what they refer to as... "Victoly!" ^_^_v * Katie takes the knife and looks it over. "Wow. That was amazing." * Katie giggles. * Katie hands the knife back to Shingo, then glances around for incoming peoples. Yes, yes it is Shingo! Congrats! You win a prize! ::hugs him:: @_@ (* Shingo stabs Taki. "Whoops." Note to self: Don't hug boy with knife. Gurk.) * Taki (falls over snickering) (Any people nearby, Brett? ^^) ( Nope ) * Katie grins at the look on Shingo's face and pushes the gate open. She peeks in. * Taki lets go of Shingo. [Inside, it looks like the first 3 floors of the building have been complete. There's 3 more floors after that, but they are only walled on the east and north sides.] (Which side are we on?) ( south ) * Katie glances around, then steps in. She peers up at the building. * Taki walks in "This place is bigger than I though..." Unless Saki's really interested in freezing to death, she's probably in there. * Shingo steps inside. * Shingo closes the gate behind him. * Katie starts a-walking around the building. See any Saki? [Katie does not see Saki outside the building.] * Shingo goes to find the door of the building. * Taki walks after Katie and look for the entrance to the building. [The door is in the front of the building. There's no actual "door" there yet, mind. But the entry way is there.] * Shingo steps inside. * Katie takes a deep breath and steps in. * Taki walks in and looks around. Saki? [The walls on the first floor are all in place. But theren't nothing else there, except some misc. construction equipment. There's a construction elevator towards the back, though.] I don't see her...maybe she went up? Maybe. * Shingo walks over to the elevator. Worth checking. * Katie does the same. * Taki walks into the elevator. [The elevator is a small, undetailed thing. It's a construction elevator; what d'ya want?] * Katie gets in the elevator and looks for the up button. * Shingo gets in. (two planks and a lever marked up/down?) [Katie finds it, and Taki's assessment is correct :P] * Katie makes the elevator go up! [The elevator heads up!] * Katie also makes it stop when they reach the second floor. * Taki rides the elevator. [The elevator stops at the second floor.] * Shingo looks around the second floor. "Saki?" * Katie steps out and scans the area. [No sign of Saki here.] Up again. * Taki walks out of the elevator and looks around. * Katie sighs. * Shingo steps back in. Third floor. * Katie gets back in the elevator. * Katie peeks her head out. "Come on, Taki." * Taki gets in the elevator and starts humming one of last months J-pop hits. * Katie shakes her head and has the elevator go to... the third floor. [Katie succeeds!] (Wow, I'm doin' good today!) ( Except on mind rolls :P ) * Katie steps out and has a look around. "Saki?" 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6-4) and gets -2, "That's a critical success, don't think this means I like you." * Shingo steps out of the elevator. * Taki walks out and looks around some more. ( Worship me like a god. ) (Aww, do I have to?) ( Worship me like a god more. ) * Katie blinks and looks to her right. * Taki (compleatly ignors Dice, except to curse him when things go bad) * Katie points that way. "Someone's eating over there," she says quietly. * Shingo walks that way. * Taki blinks and tries to walk quitly. * Katie hesitates a moment, then follows Shingo. [The group comes upon Saki. She's sitting cross-legged in the middle of a large room, with her back to the group, busily nibbling on something.] * Katie tilts her head. * Shingo approaches to a respectful distance and then stops. * Saki looks up a sec, then glances back at you for just a minute, then goes back to eating. Excuse me, Saki? Can we talk to you for a while? * Saki says while chewing: "Go 'head." Okay. * Katie fidgets uncomfortably, then steels herself. "We're wondering what happened to Hiro Kasuga." *munchmunch* What 'bout 'im? * Taki nods, realizes Saki can't see at and adds. "You chased him right past us yesterday." * Katie rolls her eyes. Yeah. Why? He owed me. That makes sense, I guess. Do you know why he vanished? Didn't. * Katie blinks. He didn't? Do you know where he is? He didn't? Then why did the school paper say he did? * Saki clambers to her feet and turns, smirking. There's blood running down the corner of her mouth, and she's holding a bone with a good deal of meat on it. "He's right here." ( Init time ^^ ) O_O d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (d6+5) and gets 8. (Hoo boy.) d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shingo (d6+8) and gets 11. * Katie stares and scrambles backwards. 26+7 ( Saki's a gaki? ) 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6+7) and gets 13. ( 1d6, Taki ) (head broken, gomen) d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (d6+7) and gets 13. (...) [Taki, Saki, Shingo, Katie] [Taki's turn] I can't belive you'd do somthing like this! Why!? (/hold) [Saki's turn] * Saki drops the bone and lurches forwards, back arched, arms limp. "Heh. Tastes good. The magic makes them taste... sweet" [Shingo's turn] * Shingo drops his backpack, draws his bokken out of it and drops into a defensive stance. [Katie's turn] * Katie backs up and looks for all the world like she wants to bolt, but somehow doesn't. Her eyes flick to the bone. (Can I tell if it's human or not?) (*also throws Saki's theme music on winamp*) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6-4) and gets 2. [Taki's turn] * Katie stares at it in horror, then looks to Saki. She starts screaming. I don't think running away will help much so...::runs up and swings at Saki:: 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6-3) and gets 6. [Taki hits Saki across the face.] [Saki's turn] * Saki whips her head back and grins at Taki. "You... You're... the same. You'll taste just as good." She throws her own swing at Taki. ( Make a def roll ) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6-3) and gets 1. [Taki ducks under Saki's fist as it swings wildly over her head.] [Shingo's turn] * Shingo comes out swinging, straight for Saki. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shingo (2d6) and gets 6. * Saki smiles as Shingo rushes for her, and in the blink of an eye darts forwards, slugging him in the stomach. There's a blue flash as her fist connects, and Shingo goes flying through the air a foot, landing on the ground. KOOOOF! [Katie's turn] * Katie babbles, tears squeezing out of her eyes. "" [Taki's turn] Ok, new plan! Katie Get over here, we're leaving::runs to Shingo and waits:: [Saki's turn] Heh. Not goin' anywhere. * Saki swings at Taki as she runs back to Shingo. ( Make a def roll ) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6-3) and gets 4. [Taki dodges the punch as she moves] [Shingo's turn] * Shingo steps forward and strikes as Saki comes at him. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shingo (2d6) and gets 3. * Saki steps to the side, avoiding the blow. [Katie's turn] ( Nonono! ) * Shingo pivots and swings again. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shingo (2d6) and gets 12. Heh. * Saki slugs Shingo before he can swing again. The light flashes, and he's sent flying back a few more feet. AUGH! [Shingo flies through the air past Taki.] [Katie's turn] * Katie shakes her head. She runs over to Shingo, tears still streaming down her face. "" [Taki's turn] * Taki tries to teleport the three of us outside the building. "Like I said Baiiiiiiiii!" 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6) and gets 11. (Oh crap.) (DR#1) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6) and gets 4. (Much better that time Dice) [Taki grabs the lot of you and teleports to the ground] * Katie blinks. "" She starts to pull Shingo to his feet. * Shingo stands up slowly. C'mon Shingo We gotta go before she gets to the elevator! " Let's go. * Katie nods and looks back at the elevator nervously. * Shingo starts walking. * Taki takes one of Shingo arms and tries to help him along. I'm fine. * Katie wipes at her eyes, then digs into one of the satchel's pouches and pulls out her ear helpers, which she puts in her ears. Keep going. * Katie moves over to Shingo and helps him, whether he likes it or not. ( Good thing, too; if she put them in her nose, she'd have been sorry :P ) (Oh yes. That wouldn't have been pretty.) * Shingo starts running. * Katie nods and runs after him. * Taki runs along side him and doesn't look back. [The group makes it outside of the construction zone.] * Katie glances around, then starts running for the subway. * Taki push/drags/hurries Shingo after Katie. * Shingo follows along, fine. [The group gets to the station.] * Katie catches the first train to... well, anywhere. She doesn't care. ... She has my bag. * Katie blinks. "She what?" ( Heh. ) Eh? When? I put it down so it wouldn't restrict me, and then you teleported us away. She knows where I live. Did I leave it behind? If she's smart, she knows where all of us live. She knows where we go to school, at least. ... ... Oops... Let's go. Live now. Yeah, good plan. * Shingo shrugs. * Katie gets *three* tickets for the first train out of there, then practically shoves Taki and Shingo on, saying with a thicker accent than normal, "More important than stupid bag. Go!" You're right. Tell ya what, when I get some money, I'll buy you a new bag. [The doors shut, and the train pulls 'way.] * Katie finds a seat and sits rigidly in it for a moment, then deflates. * Taki sprawls across a few seats. "Glah, I go through 16 years of life, and only have one person come close to killing me, and now two in as many days." * Shingo sits down gingerly. * Katie stares blankly ahead for a moment, then starts sobbing. "" she says quietly, "" No we won't. It merely requires the correct tactics to deal with the situation. What's she saying? * Katie curls in on herself as best she can. "" Calm down. Panic is illogical and will get you nowhere. * Katie sobs and glares at Shingo. * Taki puts an arm around Katie. "Don't worry we'll think of something." Fine. Panic and be eaten. While she is busy consuming you, I will think of a way to win. * Taki glares at Shingo "I won't let her get eaten!" Or you. * Katie makes a pitiful noise and curls in on herself some more. * Taki puts her other arm around Katie and hold her tight, and tries to comfort her the best she can. * Shingo looks down at himself, searching for obvious signs of injury. * Katie stays that way for a moment. "<... She was, you know. Eating a human. Probably Hiro. I got a good look at the bone; I was hoping she was playing a cruel trick and lying to us.>" [Shingo lifts up his shirt to find a dark blue spot on the left side of his stomach.] * Taki continues to hold Katie and wishes she could understand more than a few words of that. * Katie sniffs. "" Maybe. * Taki rubs Katie's back and tilts her head twords Shingo "Would you be nice enough to tell me what she's saying?" * Katie reaches up and wipes at her eyes. "" She's talking about trying to find ways to stop Saki. And defending herself. * Katie nods. More productive. Sorry about the language thing. I kind of forgot. Don't worry about it. If you keep this up it'll be just like when I had to learn to cook. ^_^ It's normal to revert to one's native language when panicked. * Katie nods absently, then she looks over at Shingo and her eyes widen. "You're hurt!" Yeah, that's it I'll bake you all so...Shingo? Yes, I am. It can be hidden, and I will recover. I think. ( Taki's gonna bake Shingo! Must be a peace offering! ) * Katie moves over to Shingo. "Let me take a look. Taki, there's a first aid kit in my bag." [Session End]
