[Shingo has been called to the principal's office. The handsome, young principal Quentin and an older man are within. They beckon Shingo to sit down.] [ SESSION START] * Shingo takes a seat. * Quentin folds his arms infront of himself. "Shingo Ryuuzaki... Do you know why you're here?" No, sir. * Quentin frowns and reaches behind his desk. He produces a torn up school bag. "...This is yours, correct?" Yes, sir. It was found this morning by a construction worker at the Tokyo Bay. Care to explain? If you like, sir. * Quentin waits. "Well?" Well what? * Quentin exchanges glances with the other man. Shingo, are you trying to tell us something with this? * Shingo blinks. I don't understand what you mean, sir. This behaviour... concerns us. * Shingo cocks his head to one side. Behavior? Shingo, my name is Dr. Hayasaka. We- The headmaster of the orphanage, Quentin, and myself, are concerned for your health. They've asked me to help you. Help me? As far as I am aware, I have no significant problems. You don't have to lie to me, Shingo. I'm here to help you feel better. Tell me what's troubling you. Lies are illogical. Why would I lie? * DrHayasaka exchanges glances with Quentin again. You're right, you're not lying. But you don't have to hide anything. Hide? What would be the point? As long as you think I'm hiding something, you'll keep digging. My best course would be to tell you everything you want to hear right now. * Quentin sighs and gestures to the bag. "What do you call this, then?" I call that my backpack. Why did you do this to it, though. Are your studies too difficult? Actually, I didn't do that. A vagrant did. We've been thinking... Maybe you shouldn't have been bumped ahead. A vagrant? Explain. As you like. I was exploring the building, and I happened upon a vagrant who apparently did not wish to be disturbed. She grabbed for me, and I let the backpack to in order to distract her while I ran. It was the most logical course. ... In an under-construction building that the public is not allowed in? What were you doing there? I was curious. * Quentin exchanges glances with the Dr. again. You were curious, so you broke the law, and were attacked by a vagrant who decided to squat in an incomplete building, knowing she would deffinately be discovered and thrown out the next morning when the workers returned? That is an accurate summary. ... And if someone got "curious" about the inside of someone's home, what would you say? The inside of one's home is not usually unlocked. That's true... The workers did forget to lock the fence. But if the home had a "No trespassing" sign, what then? * Shingo shrugs. There's not usually anything to make me curious about the interior of a residence, anyway. And now that I have seen a construction site from the inside, I am not likely to become curious about one again. * Quentin sighs. "Alright, I've kept you long enough, Shingo. You may go." * Shingo stands, bows, and walks out.
