[Date: Tuesday, January 22. Time: 4:25 P.M.] [Weather: Light snowfall; cold.] [The group met with Kyon Sorata earlier today at Tokyo Tower, where, after discovering who they 'really' were, they took the elevator to Tokyo Tower... except the entire world outside this one is upside down.] [Session Start] (Wich way is the snow falling here anyway?) (Up!) ( Up ) (thought so) ( There's no sign of life outside the tower, either. Or inside, other than yourselves. ) Okay, I for one don't know about what the Tower does. Care to explain? * Katie looks around from her seat. "The Tower... it means devastation, right?" I don't think the answere you're looking for is "Acts as a great big tourist trap." And... upside down, it stops devastation. *blinks* So this is the tower upside down? * Kyon nods at Katie. "Yeah. The Tower is a disaster magnet. And now it's reversed. A lot less disaster out there that way." ( It's Tokyo Tower. Of course it's a disaster magnet ^^ ) Ah. Another representation. It's safety. * Kyon shrugs. "I don't consider anywhere safe. This is safer, maybe." * Taki tilts her head. * Katie smiles slightly. "Represents safety." She sighs. * Kyon looks at his bike upside down through the window, and scowls. "Should've brought the sword," he mutters. The sword? Is that another card? I think he means the sword on his bike. Yes, the sword. Those pointy things people use. They're helpful. Ohh. * Katie watches the snow fall up in silence for a bit before she speaks up again. "So, would you care to tell us what have we gotten into?" * Kyon turns from the window and looks back at Katie. "Sure. The sooner that's done with, the sooner I can get out of here." * Taki turns to face Kyon. And looks attentive (Whee I'm lagging again) * Katie meets Kyon's gaze with her own. "Fine. Your time is obviously special to you." * Kyon leans back calmly. "You all have stepped out into a war. It's ugly out there, kids." If you value your time, stalling like this is illogical. * Katie chuckles. Hee. * Kyon snorts. "If I really valued my time, I'd just leave you here. You want to listen or not?" I'll listen. If we didn't, we wouldn't be here. Go on, please? * Kyon holds out a hand. "Right. There are two factions. On the one side, the Band." *** Dicesuke has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) * Kyon shakes his head. "I don't know what they're playing at, but they don't shy away from violence. At all. They're dangerous." ( ... ) ( He'll be back. ) [Pause, I guess] [Ok, no pause] (Ah, Shingo's still here. ^^) * Katie nods. So, Saki's one of them? * Kyon sighs. "They're actually a band, too. A good one. All Arcana." *** Dicesuke has joined #Arcana You mean a musical band? How odd. * Kyon smirks. "Saki and her group aren't big enough to be considered a faction." They don't look to have aligned themselves with anyone, either. Ahh, I think I'm beggining to see...Who's the other big faction then? * Katie shivers. * Kyon holds out his other hand. "On the other side, Sho Shinjo. I've worked with him before, and he's powerful." He may or may not have followers. For now, the Eight of Cups is allied with him." I see. What is he after? * Kyon snorts. "But that won't last. Once their interests aren't the same, Sho is gone." * Katie tilts her head. Sho said as much. * Kyon looks out the window again. "Sho's strong. Some major arcana, although I can't tell which." * Kyon sighs. "For now, though, we're together. We need the help. You know all those disappearances?" * Katie nods. "And what about you?" Strong enough that a fight between just him and another group is a War? O_O Yeah. They're not all caused by Saki, I take it? * Kyon smirks. "Strong enough that a fight between another group and a few of us is." There may be another group out there, too. Those are the ones I know. * Kyon looks pensive. "Saki's been taking people out?" Eating them. She says the magic makes us taste better. She got Hiro Kasuga and she tried to eat us. We walked in on her doing it. * Kyon raises an eyebrow. "And you made it out?" We're not helpless. Usually. * Taki hops across the room. "Like that, only farther." * Katie sighs and folds her legs on the chair. "Speak for yourself, Shingo." * Kyon chuckles. "Right. Not helpless. Let me guess. If you'd stayed, she'd be having three course meals for a couple weeks." Yes, but who would be stupid enough to stay? She was better than me at that point in time. * Kyon shrugs. "Sometimes you can't run. You need power to stick around." Staying in a fight you can't win is an exercise in stupidity. * Katie looks down at her hands. "Well, I have no power. And I mean to stick around anyway." Better to run, train, and return to win. If that means I have to run, I will. * Taki nods at Shingo. * Katie looks up and nods at Shingo. I may only be able to run right now, but at least it's something. * Kyon keeps his eyes out the window. "Well, run if you need to. It's not my concern. Saki eating people fits her. Just wish that let me know who she is." Me too. * Katie blinks. "What is your concern, Kyon?" Anyway. The real problem isn't Saki. It's Judgment. Another card? Judgment? Whee, more English words I can't remember. Whatever Judgment is, it's been taking Arcana and just making them not exist anymore. No bodies, no trace. * Katie grimaces. * Shingo blinks. O_O That...is not good. How do you know it was this Judgement? * Kyon runs a hand angrily through his hair. "But since we can't find anything, we can't be sure that's what it is. But it fits." No clues? There has to be something. Oh.. * Kyon looks back into the room with a scowl on his face. "There have been a few, and we haven't found anything. So we're left to guessing." Sounds like Saki. I don't know if she eats the bones, though. * Kyon waves a hand. "Even if she did, there would be blood, marks, hair, something. These people disappear and leave nothing." * Katie looks out the window and says thoughtfully, "I think she does. It's hard to get rid of bones otherwise, unless you grind them. I don't think she's smart enough." She pauses. "That's morbid." * Taki makes a face and nods. Get used to it. That's not the worst I've heard. ...I don't want to know what the worst was then. Not at all. So. We're looking at a big split. There may be other factions, and there are a lot of unaligned Arcana. Mmm. You're unaligned, yes? I thought he said he was working for Sho. He said he worked with Sho. Not that he was currently working with Sho. * Kyon shrugs. "Sho is working with the Eight. I work with the Eight. So, we're aligned. But I don't work for anyone." Ah, my mistake then, sorry. * Katie rubs at her cheek as she thinks this over. "Can one card be represented by more than one person? As in, can there be another Page of Swords out there?" * Kyon shakes his head. "No. Just you, from what I know. Except for a pair card. The lovers are probably two people. Wouldn't be lovers otherwise." * Taki opens her mouth, turns bright red, and closes it. Ah. So there should be about fifty out there, minus the ones vanished. * Kyon chuckles. "Scare easily, embarass easily. Quite a mix." I need to read up on the tarot. Soon. * Taki grins a bit. * Katie thinks. "Odd that so many of us are in such a small area, then." * Kyon rolls his eyes. "Think. If Tokyo Tower is the Tower, and the Tower attracts disaster, then we should all be here." Well, yes. * Katie chuckles. "Maybe I should have protested the move to Japan more." * Taki blinks "So, no matter where we start...we wind up near here?" * Kyon hops down and leans against the windowsill. "Even if they didn't move here, you would have come for some reason. You can't go against Fortune." The Wheel of Fortune is a very powerful force. * Katie sighs. "Another card. My life is run by a tarot deck." * Kyon shrugs. "You can go against it if you want, but Fortune is no small foe." ( Actually, that's only half true. That deck is dealt by a GM :P ) So where exactly did all the swords, cups, and wands go? There's a fourth. Um... five-pointed star. Yes, but they appear to have disappeared. Judgement, Wheel of Fortune, the Tower... I see no cups, wands, stars, or swords. * Kyon nods. "Pentacles. We're around. You think you can recognize us on sight?" Did I say that? * Kyon waves at Shingo sarcastically. "I'm a Wand. Reiji's a Cup. Kyoko's a Wand. We have power, too." I said that we're talking about cards like Judgement, the Tower, and Wheel of Fortune. Why aren't those cups, wands, swords, or pentacles? * Katie sighs in frustration and stands, walking up to one of the windows and leaning against the sill, looking out. I suppose we'll have to go look things like that up. There's probibly lots of books on it. ::mutters to herself::some of them may even be in a launguage I can read without having to look at a dictionary all the time. * Kyon swears in Chinese. "You might as well ask why you aren't the Emperor. Things are what they are." You're talking to someone who knows nothing about tarot. Why don't you try explaining. * Katie keeps looking outside, eyes following the snow. "The ones that don't have cups, wands, swords, and stars are more powerful. A lot more powerful. So their representation would be more powerful, too." So they're another suit entirely? Not really. More like... um... they each stand on their own. * Kyon gestures at Katie. "What she said. They're major, we're minor. Doesn't mean we can't stand up to them." So they're ranked above us, technically. Just means we have to work harder. * Katie moves her hand to the frosted glass and starts to draw. "Yup. Just need to work harder." They're the trump. You could put it that way. They get more power to start with, I can get more as I go. I see. And how are the suits ranked? Internally and in association with the others. * Taki wanders over to see what Katie is drawing. They aren't. They're all equal. Internally, ace to ten, page, knight, queen, king. I see. * Kyon shakes his head. "Don't confuse rank with power, though. A three could have more than a knight." * Katie glances at Taki and turns back to etching a hummingbird on the glass. So rank has no meaning. It's the difference between minor and major that's important. * Taki pulls up a chair and watches Katie draw. * Kyon glances over at the picture. "Not bad, kid." * Katie begins a flower. She smiles. "Thanks, but I don't think I'm any more a kid than you are." * Taki leans back in her chair. "He's known he's Arcana longer than us, that probibly counts for something." * Kyon smiles ruefully. "Depends on your perspective." He lets his smile fade. * Katie laughs quietly. "It counts for a lot. And this is his country, not mine." She starts another flower. "But this doesn't make him any more or less... mature? than I am." * Kyon looks back out the window. "Think what you want. Any other questions?" * Katie finishes the picture and steps back to watch it frost over. No, I'm trying to keep this from flowing out my ears as it is. ^_^; * Shingo shrugs. I'll do some research. Maybe I'll have more questions later. Maybe not. * Kyon snorts. "Don't get me wrong. I'm not your personal information source. I'm just breaking you in." Of course not. And I wouldn't want to waste any more of your time. I do have one more question, though. What do you think we should do to continue living? Ah! I've got one! What do/did the Arcana do when they wern't trying to kill eachother? ...I think you should answere Katie's first. * Katie smiles and shakes her head. The picture completely frosts over, so she turns to Kyon. * Kyon waves a hand. "Easier first. No one knows. All the human Arcana I know of seem to be high school or college age. So before we got here, everyone was just who they were." As for what you should do. Running won't work, not really. Judgment seems to have a long reach. We do what comes naturally. Survive. Yes, but how to survive? So, we just figure it out as we go along. We'll figure that out as we go. ( ^_^_v ) See? Even Shingo agrees with me. * Kyon laughs harshly. "That's not what comes naturally. The best way to live is either to learn to fight, or to find an ally, at least till you find your feet." I can fight. And I have allies. Two of them, right here. I'll survive. and so will they. * Kyon laughs a bit more lightly. "Right, kid. Very brave. Right fine allies they'll make, too." * Katie chuckles and shakes her head. "Oh, Shingo." (o/~ Brave brave Sir Taki, she bravely ran away o/~) ( Better that than to critically fail :P ) So I suppose you're not an option, Student Council Vice President? Yeah, but if Kyon's telling the truth I think we're going to need more than just us. * Kyon looks Katie over. "I'm an option if you show me you have something to offer." * Shingo GLARES at Kyon. * Katie glances at Shingo and waves for him to calm down. She turns back to Kyon. You say that like you've got something to do besides look down your nose at us and call us kids. (Gah.) * Kyon smirks. "Don't look at me like that. And you haven't seen me in action. I've been at this a while. You don't do that by luck." Calm down Shingo! We don't even know what it is he might want. It might just be something Katie drew nee? Whatever. We don't need you, and we _definitely_ don't need you looking down at us because we're new at this. (Sorry, I had to go AFK. And now I'm AFK for a moment longer.) ( Er, pause, I guess ) (Back. ^^;;) ( unpause :P ) Shingo's right. By the same token, though, help in staying alive is useful. Personaly, if Saki were to try again, I'd like to have all the help I could get. * Katie folds her arms and looks up (way up, really) at Kyon. "So. What do you want?" * Kyon looks coolly at Shingo, and pushes himself off the wall. "I want a reason to help you. Allies are only useful when it can go both ways." You mean aside from the goodness of your heart? I'd offer taxi service, but I think someone would see. ^_^ * Kyon smiles coolly. "Goodness of my heart got you the info I already gave you." How nice. * Kyon runs a hand over his jacket. "You know how much I got told when I found out?" *** DemoGaming has joined #Arcana I don't really care. *** Demota has quit IRC (SVSKilled: GHOST command used by DemoGaming ) *** DemoGaming is now known as Demota * Taki raises a hand. "Nothing?" * Kyon ignores Shingo. "I heard nothing from no one. I got where I am on my own. Don't take being told where you are to begin with for granted." * Katie shakes her head. "Poor you." She walks back to the chair and opens her satchel, digging through it. "Well, we lived so far. This must mean something. Ah," she comments as she finds her ear helpers and puts them in her ears. You've been at this for a few days? That could still be luck. * Katie closes the satchel and shoulders it. She turns back to Kyon. Yeah. So could you still being alive. * Kyon shrugs. "Three years. And I've got a network already." * Shingo shrugs. I'll build my own. With these two, if they want in. * Kyon looks to Taki and Katie. "All right. You with him?" In any case, I'm not stupid, no matter what this language may make me sound like. But this... bickering is stupidity. * Katie smiles thinly. "You don't want me. I have shown nothing to offer." * Taki looks between Shingo, Katie and Kyon. "Uhm...I don't know yet." ( Gee, an ugly, scarred little fourteen year old kid, or a pretty boy sports hero student council VP? Your choice. ) (Hey, the ugly, scarred little kid has proven to at least care about whether or not she lives. :P) ( If you like I can introduce a bishonen villian and you can be his groupies. :P ) Part of me says that Kyon could help a lot, and part of me says he's wrong to be acting like this, and another part of me wants to stay with Shingo. And all of me says that I'm getting a headache. (I'm sorry, but I need to kill the bishounen out of principal. You understand, I'm sure.) ( There's been more than enough of that, Brett. ) (Principle? Yeah, that one. ^^) ( Principle, Katie. Principal is the guy who runs the school. ) (He's a bishounen, too!) ( The principal IS a bishonen ^^ ) * Kyon shrugs. "I don't not want you, but I can't afford to take a liability. Even if you're new, you don't have to be one. But with nothing, I can't do much." * Katie glares at Kyon. "What, am I supposed to take a test to join your little club?" She walks towards him. I think...that for now I'll stick with Shingo, but if we find something that might help you, or that we can't handle, I'll try to find you. I know what I know, I'll learn what I'll learn. No powers, no fighting. That's all I can do, and that's all you would get. Looks like that's not good enough for you, so I'll show myself out. * Shingo looks surprised. * Shingo looks dumbfounded, in fact. What? If I can't think of a way to help him, I can at least get you out of trouble. * Shingo pulls himself together. * Shingo shrugs. * Shingo heads for the elevator. Seeya later, o great Queen. * Kyon smirks. "All right, then. Good luck." He waves sarcastically, and settles into the window again. Like now. Let's wait to see what Katie does. Katie already said her piece. Coming, Katie? * Katie puts her hands on her hips and looks up at Kyon. "But I'll be damned if I see you, or anyone else who helped me, die because of this stupidity. If you ever find you need me, let me know. And I won't turn *you* away so easily." She turns and walks over to Shingo. "Yeah. I'm done." * Shingo jabs the elevator call button with his finger. [The elevator doesn't seem to arrive] * Kyon looks out at his upside-down bike, smiling quietly to himself. He mutters something quietly in Chinese. * Katie frowns. What now? * Taki looks from the elevator to Kyon. "Next question! Where's the elevator?" * Kyon looks towards the doors. "It's got a long way down to make it. Give it a second." OK. ::goes back to waiting:: * Taki paces. * Katie runs her fingers through her hair. "" she says quietly. [The elevator eventually arrives. Inside is a very handsome man with neck-length wavy silver hair. He's wearing black jeans, a black shirt, red trench coat, shades, and a bunch of necklaces, one of which has a cross.] *** Kirby is now known as Man * Katie blinks at the man and involuntarily takes a step back. * Man leans forward a bit. "Hm? What's this?" He spots Kyon. "New rectuits, Queen?" We were just leaving. * Kyon clenches a fist in his jacket pocket, releases, and hops down, walking towards the elevator, gritting his teeth. "Sho. Yeah, the Eight sent them." *** Man is now known as Sho * Taki blinks. * Sho looks the group over. "Really." * Katie looks back at Kyon, then back to Sho, and moves away from the two. And who might you be? Hi, I'm Ta...hmm, suppose I should introduce myself as now. * Shingo looks up... up... up... at Sho, and then steps out of the way so he can get off the elevator. * Kyon stops and looks down slightly at Sho. "Yeah. Apparently, he felt they were in my jurisdiction." * Sho stays right where he is :P Looks that way. They're wearing Sakuragaoka uniforms. Knight of Cups, eh? What can you do? * Kyon runs a hand through his hair. "Yeah, but he could have told them anyway. I had to do the whole deal." This!::vanishes and reappears a few feet away:: * Katie grumbles. "" * Sho smiles. "You could have always given them to me. I'd take real good care of them." We're not children. We don't need to be taken care of. * Sho grins at Taki. "Oho! I'm impressed." Really? You look like a kid to me, squirt. * Katie looks at Taki, then back at Sho, keeping her eyes on him this time. Thanks. ::walks back to where she was:: * Kyon has a smile flit across his face before gritting his teeth. "Yeah, I'm sure you would have, Sho." I may be young, but I'm no kid. * Sho shrugs. "Sorry. No offense. Well, not much. So, what do you do?" I do whatever I want to do. And whatever I need to do. * Katie grins despite herself. * Sho half grins. "Amusing." Hee. * Sho looks to Katie. "And how about you? What talent have you brought to us?" * Katie opens her mouth, then pauses, and tilts her head. "I can draw. Just ask Kyon." * Kyon looks at Katie, and nods. "Yeah. She can." Hmm... That's not going to help much with Judgement. * Sho looks to Kyon. "You informed them about Judgement, I assume?" They're not magic drawings, either. Just normal drawings. I'm sure that if Judgement has a soft spot for art, I'll do wonderfully. * Kyon nods. "Of course. It's basic lay of the land info now." You'd be surprised how useful that might be. * Sho raises his left hand and rubs his thumb across his fingers, staring at it idly. "I suppose so." He looks back up. "You said you were leaving? I'll accompany you out." No, that's fine. * Kyon raises an eyebrow. "But you just got here, Sho. I'm sure you had a reason." * Taki shrugs "We'll probibly meet again." * Sho nods to Kyon. "I do, but it's not terribly important." He then focusses on Katie. "Hm? Oh, don't misunderstand. That wasn't an offer." * Katie looks evenly at Sho. "Really? And why would you make this not-offer?" * Sho shrugs. "I just like to get to know my future enemies." I'm nobody's enemy. * Kyon levels a cool stare on Sho. "Maybe it would be best to wait on that for a little while." My only enemies are the people currently trying to kill me. *** Dicesuke has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) Sure you are. You're Arcana, you're not with my group, so... *** Shingo has quit IRC (Ping timeout ) [Pause] (... medic? ^^;) (Wow...you are powerfull Sho!) *** Dicesuke has joined #Arcana *** Shingo has joined #Arcana ( RAGH. ) [Unpause] * Sho shrugs at Kyon. "Oh, I'm not going to do anything to them yet. After all, we're on the same side." *** Retrieving #Arcana info... * Kyon nods tersely. "Of course we are. I wouldn't think otherwise. But perhaps some more time to get their bearings would be wise." I think you should wait until we decide who our enemies are. (Idle.) ( pause ) ( Blargh. I must've paused this session four or five times now. ) (It still is flowing pretty well, though. ^^;) (Though Fate may stand against us, we push on.) ( Midnight is standing against me, though. ) ( The worst kind of Fate: a GM :P ) ( Late nights don't agree with me much anymore. ) ( I don't do well before noon, either :P ) ( But this shouldn't be too much longer, depending. ) ( Particularly depending on if Ard gets back... ^^; ) (Back. ^^;) ( unpause. ) * Sho shrugs to Kyon again. "You're right, I suppose." He looks to the others. "If you'd rather join me, that's all the better." We're not joining him. Why should we join you? Because if you don't, I'll eventually have to kill you. Or we'll eventually have to kill you. Why? Why does it have to be that way? * Shingo shrugs. You're not going to get me to react out of fear. * Katie sighs and rubs at her forehead. "Because Sho wants it that way, Taki." Who said I was trying? It's just a fact. *** Demota has quit IRC (Quit: ) Nothing personal, squirt. * Shingo shrugs. * Kyon moves a hand in front of his chest, looking impassively from one to the other. * Katie watches Sho not move from the elevator and backs up a bit more, putting her hand in one of her satchel pockets. Oh well. I suppose if you're not going to accompany me out, I'll get out of your way. Thank you. How kind of you. *** Demota has joined #Arcana * Sho pulls a cigarette from his pocket, and hits the button, as the doors close, he smiles and says around the cigarette, "And hey, I didn't mean to offend you. After all, we're friends!... for now." The doors close. *** Sho is now known as Kirby * Katie watches the doors close. "" * Kyon grimaces, and looks at Shingo. "You know, since you told him you weren't with me, he could've just killed you. Like that. Nothing I could do." He could have. He didn't. The only reason he didn't force the issue is because he thinks you're close to me, and because I didn't let him make you. ( Note that Sho is tall, though not so much as Kyon. ) I see. But we're not with you, so what do you really care? * Shingo stabs the button again and resumes waiting. * Taki sighs and sits. "Is it written someplace that all male Arcana allways think they're right?" * Katie laughs. Maybe it's one of those unwritten things, Taki. ( Since when was it limited to Arcana? :P ) (Shh. ^_~) * Kyon thinks very briefly. "You are now. It's the only way you can be sure he won't get you. And I don't want you dead. Right now, as a neutral, you're a liability." * Taki nods at Katie. ... * Katie looks at Kyon. "You don't want us dead," she says dryly. "Why this change of heart?" * Kyon looks down at Katie. "Because you're too vulnerable to be neutral now. This is going to shake down, and if you're neutral, either you end with him or you die. And Sho is a great deal worse than I am." No. Eeeegh. * Katie blinks at Shingo. I don't care. * Kyon looks coolly at Shingo. "Kid, Saki nearly took the three of you out. Saki is a featherweight in comparison to Sho." That's nice. If you want to help us, you can help us. You want to associate yourself with us, that's fine. You said you didn't want us, and hell if I'll be taken in out of pity. * Kyon shrugs. "Knight of Cups? Page of Swords? What do you think? If you stick with him, you'll die. My offer is genuine. Whatever the reason may be." Shingo,I don't want either of you to get hurt, and I think Kyon and Sho would be better at protecting us that we are for now. When we get stronger. Then we can annoy them. * Katie looks at Shingo, then Kyon. She walks away from the elevator to the windows again. * Shingo waitwaitwaits. * Katie puts her forehead to the glass, closes her eyes, and sighs. "" * Katie turns and looks at the others. * Taki takes a seat halfway between Shingo and Kyon. I want to live. I *will* live, no matter what happens. And so will Shingo, and so will Taki. No matter what you think, Kyon. You're right. Being part of your club may make living easier. Shingo is also right. I don't want an offer out of pity. So... * Katie frowns as she thinks this over. * Taki tilts her head again "We need to find away get your help, but without insulting Shingo's pride." * Kyon rocks on his feet. "This isn't just pity. This is a tactical alliance." A tactical alliance? What 'tactics' are used here? Keeping you from him makes my position better, too. How? Because if he doesn't kill you, you'll end up on his side. And Sho will keep his word, but when it's over, we won't be on good terms. And you did not know this when you turned us down the first time? He didn't know who you were. He didn't have any reason to. He does now. And he's good at finding things. And as I recall, you were the one who walked away from the bargain the first time. All I asked for was a reason to help. And this is one. * Taki sighs "Why is everything here about death?" Sometimes, you don't need a reason to help. * Katie looks over to Taki. "Because of pride and stupidity." She sighs. Right, I keep forgeting. And sometimes, you do. And this is one. This is a good offer. Take it. * Katie looks back at the snow and sighs. "Fine. Fine, Kyon, I'll take your offer. But on two conditions: Taki and Shingo must as well, and as an alliance, I want to be seen as an equal. Not an... um... underling." I'm not your underling, queenie. Treat me like one and I'll bring you down. * Taki waits for Kyon to speak.. * Kyon looks sidewise at Shingo. "Even if I treat you as an equal, you need to respect me. You don't treat your allies right, and you end up with none." * Katie giggles. "" ( Silence! I sentence you to detention! ) The moment you stop looking down at me for being young, ugly, and ignorant is the day I give you respect. * Taki blinks at Katie. "And in Japanese?" * Kyon turns to Katie and smiles coldly. "" Ahh! Am I the only one here who doesn't speak English!? * Shingo taps his foot as the elevator STILL hasn't come. * Katie opens her mouth to respond, then blinks and looks to Kyon. "" [Funny thing, that elevator :P] ( /me gives Brett the big hairy eyeball. ) * Katie laughs. ( ... What the hell's that supposed to mean? ) * Kyon speaks in nearly unaccented English. "" ( It's the evil eye. ) * Katie speaks in unaccented English, actually. She's from Iowa. ^_^_v ( Feh. I got one already. ) * Taki arghs and goes to stare out a window for a bit. ( Actually, midwest _is_ an accent. ) ( You can't help but have an accent if you're using a spoken language. ) (I know. :P But there's a section of Iowa that's the closest to unaccented as possible. It's what news anchors try to model.) Knight of Cups, we're just talking about respect. That's all. * Katie smiles apologetically at Taki. Perhaps you should study harder. If you want, I can help you with English. So you won't feel left out anymore, okay? Hmm, I'd probibly get respect if I knew English. Thanks Katie. I'll take you up on that at some point when we're not deciding life or death by argument. The five minutes we sit at my locker when waiting for Shingo, then. * Katie nods sagely. Right. ^_^ * Taki comes back to the others. * Kyon rests back on his heels. "Well, Knights?" ( Feel free to do stuff :P ) I told you. I'm no lackey, henchman, or even employee. If you and Shingo manage to stop insulting eachother I'd be happy to join. * Katie chuckles. "May be too much to hope for, Taki." Treat me like one and I'll bring you down. Until then, I'll be right beside Katie and Taki. * Kyon muses. "Close enough, Page?" Yes. * Kyon nods. "Good. Now that that's settled, let's get you all out. Come to my apartment tomorrow afternoon, and I'll get you properly introduced." And where is this apartment? [The elevator arrives with a *ding!*] * Shingo glares at the elevator. * Katie rolls her eyes. * Kyon reaches into his pocket and hands Katie a name card. "The apartment's two stops down the Yamanote line, near the station." And now it comes back. * Katie takes the card and looks it over, then slips it into her satchel. "Okay." She considers, then holds her hand out to Kyon. Maybe we got off on the wrong foot. * Kyon blinks, takes her hand lightly, shakes it, and bows halfway down over it. "Maybe we did." * Katie lets a smile touch her face and returns the bow. "Here's to living. We'll be at your place tomorrow." She lets go and walks over to the elevators. [Session end]
