* Officer is waiting outside the apartment when Kyon comes out. "Um, are you ready? * Kyon nods. "Yes. Thank you for waiting." * Officer nods. "Alright. We can take my car down." She heads for the 'vator. * Kyon follows behind her. * Officer leads Kyon down the elevator and to her car. She opens the door on the passenger's side for him. * Kyon steps in and settles himself into the seat. [As Kyon gets in, he realizes he can no longer see the woman. But someone else is there instead.] * Kyon presses his knees to the dashboard. "Sho. Good of you to join me again." * Sho comes around from the side and looks at Kyon through the window. "You see? I told you this would happen?" * Kyon shrugs. "Yeah, well. It won't beat me." No, but it's a hassle for me. Therefore, I can't allow you to do this. Not just yet. * Kyon rolls his shoulders. "No? What are you going to do here, Sho?" * Sho chuckles. "I could ruin your life so easily right now, you know. All I have to do is kill the officer. * Kyon nods. "You could. That would be even more hassle for you." It would be a hassle for both of us, but you moreso than me. In my case it's a temporary setback. In yours... Well, if you didn't go to jail, you'd be running from the law for the rest of your life. * Kyon turns to regard Sho. "You and I both know that you need as many people as possible to go against Judgment. Losing me will lose you other people, too. It's no small deal for either of us." * Sho grins. "Ah, but that's where you're wrong." * Kyon raises an eyebrow. "Oh?" None of us really knows what Judgement is. We don't even have an idea of how to battle it. Banding together is just Reiji's way of trying to get others to think for him. * Kyon shrugs. "So we don't know. It still is a good idea to have a large number of people for when we do." Quite true. Like I said, it's a setback. But not unrecoverable. * Kyon nods. "No, not unrecoverable. From my point of view, though, it is still unwise. You already have the people. Why inconvenience yourself?" I'm attempting not to. Which is why I suggest you try to track down the real murderer. If you go with this woman, you're only going to be held up for an indeffinate amount of time. * Kyon lets a ghostly grin rise to his face. "Believe me, I intend to, Sho. I don't take kindly to being framed. And when I find them..." He holds up his right fist and lets a soft flame lick across the knuckles. I thought you might say that. * Kyon shrugs, and lowers his fist. "For now, though, I won't be in any position to find anyone if I run. If I answer the questions right, I can leave and look on my own." No you can't. You'll be under surveillence. The sword was found in your locker. You're the prime suspect. * Kyon smiles. "Surveillance. That's what Kyoko's for." * Sho laughs. "Kyoko? All she's good for is a giant paperweight." * Kyon shrugs. "She has her uses. Even under surveillance, I can still look. I have my own allies, after all." True enough. And if you do wind up in jail... Well, I can always watch over them in your stead. * Kyon nods. "You could. I'm worth more than all of them right now in a fight. And Reiji would want to watch them, as well." Confident, are you? Oh well, it doesn't matter. * Sho turns. "Good luck in staying out of prison. I'm sure you'll perform to my expectations." * Kyon stretches in the seat. "I'll try, Sho. It's all in the tactics. Take care." * Sho walks away, waving without looking. When he gets far enough, the officer speaks. "I'm sorry about that. Are you ready?" * Kyon turns back, tucking his hand into his jacket. "Yes, I am." * Officer nods and drives off! * Kyon is driven! [The officer drives Kyon to the station, where she ushers him into one of those rooms with the big mirrors.] * Kyon sits in the chair and stretches out his legs under the table. [The officer leaves him in the room at one end of the table. Before long, a slightly overweight, balding man with a mustache comes in. "You must be Kyon."] * Kyon stands and bows slightly. "I am." I'm inspector Kenji Sagara. Feel free to call me Kenji. * Kyon sits and nods. "All right." * Inspector takes the chair from the other end of the table, and pulls it over to the left corner next to Kyon. He turns it around and sits on it reversed, folding his arms over the back. So, how are you doing today? * Kyon smirks. "As well as can be expected." * Kenjii nods a bit slightly to his side. "Do you know why we brought you here?" * Kyon nods. "An acquaintance of mine told me that it has something to do with the tragedy that occurred at Sakuragaoka." * Kenjii nods. "That's right." * Kyon waits patiently for Kenji to continue. * Kenjii sighs. "The murder weapon was a foil. I'm told you're the captain of the fencing team, correct?" * Kyon nods. "I am, yes. Since I arrived at the school." Did you know the deceased? * Kyon shakes his head. "I didn't." Alright. Do you know of anyone in the club who did? Or even someone not in the club. * Kyon thinks briefly. "Not offhand. I can't think of anyone who dealt with Seiryuu at all, for that matter. The fencing team is mostly male, and as such, we never fought them." All right. So no relationship whatsoever? * Kyon makes a show of thinking some more. "Not that I can think of." He leans forward. "If I think of anything, I'll be sure to tell you." * Kenjii nods. "Alright." He licks his lips. "Does the name Yurika Miataka mean anything to you?" * Kyon cocks his head slightly. "No, it doesn't." Are you sure? You've never had contact with her? * Kyon runs a hand through his hair. "Nothing comes to mind." Hmm... How about Hiro Kasuga? * Kyon furrows his brow. "Wasn't he one of the boys that disappeared from Sakuragaoka? I think I read about him in the school newspaper." He shakes his head. "Sakuragaoka has had terrible luck of late." * Kenjii nods. "So it seems. And so has Seiryu." * Kyon nods. "A bad time to be a Tokyo high school student." * Kenjii nods. * Kenjii stands. "Well, we're doing our best to solve that." * Kyon nods. "Of course, sir. I have full faith in your abilities." In the meantime, you're the student council vice president, so try to be supportive of your peers. * Kenjii opens the door and motions for Kyon. * Kyon nods. "I will. I always take my responsibilities seriously." He stands and heads for the door. [Session End]
