[Day: Wednsday, January 29th. Time: 2:50 P.M.] [Weather: Man, did it snow in the morning. There's occasional flurries now, but most of the snow is staying on the ground. And it's still cold, durn it.] [Yesterday, the group met Meimi. Well, Kyon didn't, but everyone else did. Then the printing press explodered. Then they went to the Tower Reversed, where they met Sho, who acted all superior like usual. Then on the way to the hospital, they got attacked by thugs. Fortunately, the thugs were weak, so after a good nights rest, everyone's feeling in tip-top shape.] [The scene opens with everyone conveniently at (or going in the direction of) the lockers.] [Session Start] * Meimi grabs the many books she needs to take with her out of her locker and slams it shut. * Katie sits at her locker, sketching like she usually does. * Jiro walks up to his locker, opens it, looks in, and exchanges some things in his backpack for some things in his locker. * Meimi peeks over Katie's shoulder. * Satoshi walks up to Katie and Meimi. "Hey." * Meimi glares at Sato. What? * Meimi rolls her eyes. Nothing, nothing at all. No, what? * Kyon waits at the end of the hall facing the lockers, bag and jacket on his back, sports bag on the floor next to him as he leans against the wall, looking down towards them. * Katie keeps working on the drawing. You just had to go and speak up before I could play a little joke. Jeez. Oh, sorry. * Satoshi rolls his eyes in turn. It's okay, I forgive you. * Katie grabs her eraser and starts rubbing some lines out. "I'd ask you what you were going to do, but you wouldn't tell me." * Satoshi chuckles. Thanks. * Jiro notices the others, and walks over to join them. "Hey. How goes it?" *_* Pretty good, Jiro. Yourself? Hey, Jiro. Absolutely perfect. * Satoshi notes Meimi's reaction and chuckles. Oh, I'm doin' okay. ^_^ * Satoshi looks down the hall and notices Kyon. "Looks like His Majesty has arrived." He's been there for a while. His majesty? * Meimi looks around. Oh, the VP. * Katie reaches for her pen and starts inking the picture. "He's talking about Kyon." * Jiro blinks and turns in the direction Satoshi indicated. "Huh? Oh." * Meimi whispers something to Katie. "Don't tell him I'm The Moon, mmkay?" Yeah. He's the Queen of Cups. It fits. Wands, Satoshi. Queen of Wands. * Katie nods once and keeps inking. * Kyon notices them looking over at him, and narrows his eyes slightly at Meimi before letting his expression return to neutral. * Jiro blinks at Kyon's eye-norrowing, then shrugs. * Meimi walks over to Kyon. Right. You'd think I'd remember, because I'm one too. What's up, O Mighty Vice President? * Kyon shrugs and smirks at Meimi. "Just waiting." * Meimi fans out a deck of tarot cards. Interest you in a free reading from Meimi-sama, Mistress of the Tarot? * Kyon lets his smirk widen a bit, and he jams his hand in his pocket to pull out his own deck. "If I want a reading, I'll do my own." * Meimi smiles. "A fellow devotee, then?" * Kyon nods curtly. "You could say that." * Meimi flicks her wrists and the cards disappear. * Katie glances up at Kyon. "Hey, have you seen Shingo at all?" * Satoshi walks over to Katie, Kyon, and Meimi. * Jiro decides to walk over to where everyone is, too. Yes, where is our underage Knight? I'm eager to meet him. * Kyon looks down at Katie. "No. Not since the shopping trip. He not show up?" Not yesterday, nope. I haven't seen him today, either. Neither have I. We were thinking about checking up on him, but none of us know where he lives. [On time, Chikako runs up to the group, waving a copy of the school newspaper. "Hi everyone!"] Hey, Chikako. I see you got the press fixed. Hi, Chikako! * Kyon nods at Chikako. "Hey." * Katie grins, still inking. "Hiya Chikako." Tomorrow's articles are on your desk. * Jiro blinks. "Hey, Chikako." * Chikako nodnods. "Yup! I got good at it 'cause I do it a lot. It's so cool!" * Chikako nods to Meimi. "Cool." * Satoshi looks surprised. "It breaks that often?" * Chikako nods. "It's because we're so much cooler than the other schools by having our super cool newspaper daily!" * Chikako gets dizzy from nodding so much so rapidly @_@ It's a real strain on the poor machine. The paper is _really_ popular, though, so it's cool. * Jiro nods. "Cool." Anyhow, speaking of the super-cool newspaper, I brought you a copy. Cool, huh? * Satoshi grins. "I think it's cool that you guys put in so much effort." Thanks. I just can't wait for this dance to be over and done with. * Chikako grins. "You think so? Cool!" All my letters lately are people asking about dates for the dance. * Katie snickers. "Very cool." She starts packing her supplies. * Satoshi thinks about Taki and sighs. Why? It'll be cool! (Except for the poor GM who has to run it) The dance? Sure, it'll be cool, but all the stilly people asking about dates, and what they should wear, and I probably won't even get to go. It's a downer. You won't? You should ask someone! You never know who'll say yes! You won't? * Chikako winks at Kyon. * Kyon smiles a bit, and nods quickly back. * Katie puts the box of supplies in her satchel. She waves Meimi down to her. Nobody really wants to date someone who can read the future in the cards, I suppose. * Meimi bends down next to Katie. * Katie whispers to her. "Why don't you ask Jiro? I bet he'd like to go with you." That's silly. * Jiro blinks. "Uh. Why not?" * Chikako grins. She pulls out a slip of paper from inside the newspaper and hands it to Kyon. "Here!" * Satoshi turns to Jiro. "See, you don't have a problem with that, do you, Jiro?" * Meimi stumbles and almost falls over. * Kyon shakes his head. "They do. I've never had any problems." He takes the paper from Chikako and looks at it. * Katie grins. * Meimi whispers back frantically. "What are you talking about? He's got hordes of admirers, he'd never go out with me!" * Katie shrugs and whispers back. "Ever realize that he never notices these hordes, but he has noticed you? I think he likes you." * Jiro shakes his head. "Nope." * Kyon rolls his eyes at all the whispering as he reads over the paper. And neither would I, and neither does Kyon. So it's not nearly as dire as Meimi thinks it is. * Meimi stands up, blushing, but then the blush disappears. Ahem. You don't have a column in the paper where you tell the future, O Mighty VP. * Katie smirks. * Jiro blinks at Meimi. * Kyon reads it again, and looks quizzically up at Chikako. * Chikako grins. * Chikako pushes her glasses up and smiles. Smile smile smile. * Kyon shrugs. "I don't need one to know what's coming. And I don't have to share." He keeps his gaze on Chikako. * Satoshi racks his brain for a way to get Jiro to ask Meimi to the dance. Except that he has no practical experience with girls, really - he asked Taki out more or less by accident. ^_~ * Jiro is, naturally, happily oblivious to the whole thing. * Katie blinks as she realizes something. "Has anyone seen Taro?" * Kyon walks over to Chikako, and leans over next to her. * Chikako nods. "Uh-huh! He'd be with the kendo team about now. * Chikako grins. "Kendo's so cool!" Good. Taro? Who... oh, yeah, the kendoist. Yah, what Chikako said. * Chikako nods to Kyon and whispers back. * Katie blushes slightly. "Because, you know, I should follow my own advice." She gets to her feet and picks up her satchel. * Meimi smiles. * Satoshi grins. "Go for it." * Jiro blinks, still not getting it. * Katie smiles shakily. "I will. It's a little scary, 'cause I've never asked anyone out before, but..." She shrugs. "He's not going to ask me, that's for sure." * Kyon blinks quizzically, and straightens up. "Yeah. Real cool." He looks casually around the group. * Chikako blinks. "Advice? Is it cool? You can write an advice column with... Oh, THAT kind of advice." That's so cool! * Katie sticks her tongue out at Chikako. You shouldn't do that, Katie. What if it got stuck? * Satoshi snickers. * Chikako grins. "That'd be cool!" Then I guess I'll have to live with it. It would not be cool! Heh. That'd be weird. * Katie stomps her foot and puts on a show of being upset, even though it's really obvious she isn't. But it'd be funny! Funny cool! Oh, maybe funny for *you*. It'd be as funny as me wiping my face with a towel and wiping my nose and mouth off. You'd have to stay inside, though. Else it'd freeze off in this weather. ...heeeeeey... I should do that for my next show. Now that is freaky. * Chikako giggles. * Meimi taps her index finger against her lips. * Katie snickers. * Jiro chuckles. * Kyon rolls his eyes at Meimi. "You a magician, then?" No, I'm an illusionist. Yeah. She's a good one! * Meimi flicks her wrist and produces a carnation for Kyon. Hey. When *is* your next show, Meimi? ^_^ * Chikako looks around. "But shouldn't you go? You have to meet someone, and it's not cool to keep people waiting." My next show hasn't been scheduled yet, unfortunately. It'll probably be a birthday party or something. How about the dance? The kids'll get a kick out of me rubbing my face off. Maybe you can perform there. It'd be so cool! Rubbing your face off? Cool. ^_^ * Kyon looks at the flower, and ignores the conversation, palming his cards again. Ur. You can put it back on afterwards, right? Of course I can. ^_^ * Satoshi chuckles. * Meimi flicks her wrist and makes the carnation disappear. * Jiro nods. ^_^ * Kyon shuffles the cards, then holds them out to Meimi. "Shuffle them for me?" * Meimi smiles, takes the cards, shuffles elaborately several times, and hands them back. * Kyon looks them over closely as he fans them out. "Pick one." * Meimi picks one from near one edge, pulls it out, and flips it around, revealing The High Priestess. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kyon (2d6) and gets 10. * Katie leans against the lockers and watches. * Kyon takes the card, looks at it, frowns, and then points it towards Katie with a skeptical look, one eyebrow raised. * Chikako rocks back and forth on her heels, clutching the paper and grinning. * Katie shrugs at Kyon with a small smile. * Meimi smirks at Kyon. The cards don't lie. * Jiro studies the cieling. * Kyon shrugs. "Sometimes." He packs them together, and hands them to her again. "Shuffle again." * Meimi shuffles elaborately several times and hands the deck back. * Satoshi folds his arms and watches. * Kyon looks it over closely, and spreads the cards. "Pick one." * Meimi selects one from near the middle, pulls it out, and flips it around, revealing The High Priestess once more. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kyon (2d6) and gets 4. * Chikako watches curiously. "Is that a cool one? I don't get this game at all." * Kyon looks at the card very closely. "Yeah. Illusionist. What's the card?" * Meimi blinks. "Whatever do you mean, O Mighty One?" * Meimi smiles innocently at Kyon, but on the card, the High Priestess sticks her tongue out at Kyon. * Kyon smirks and rolls his eyes as the card changes. "That's not your card, kid. It's not right." * Meimi smirks right back at Kyon. Guess. * Chikako scratches her head. "Huh?" It's that game again, Chikako. Kyon thinks Meimi's cheating at it. * Kyon doesn't take his eyes off Meimi. "Nothing. I just think your columnist isn't playing right." Is she? That's not cool. Oh, I'm playing right. You're just not seeing right. ^_^ * Katie grins. "Meimi's got a point." * Chikako looks even more puzzled. * Meimi reaches out for the deck again. She's giving him hints. Think of it like a riddle. I don't get it. * Chikako pouts. "This game's not cool. It doesn't make any sense!" * Kyon looks mistrustfully at Meimi, but lets her take the cards. * Kyon says to Chikako without moving his eyes, "I'll explain later, Chikako. It's a complex game." * Meimi shuffles the cards idly, waiting for Kyon to figure it out. Exercise that gray matter of yours. Or has being on the student council ironed out too many of the wrinkles? * Katie snerks. * Kyon shakes his head, and smirks. "No. It added more. It's hard work." He reaches a hand out for the cards. But it's cool! * Meimi continues idly shuffling. "You don't need these, do you?" Not right now, anyway. * Kyon shakes his head. "I don't need them. But they don't need moonlight." He flexes his hand. * Meimi grins and offers the cards. * Katie grins at that comment and nods. * Kyon takes the cards, straightens them, and pockets them without a word, keeping his eyes on the new girl. * Jiro grins too. I was right to have faith in your reasoning ability. * Satoshi blinks as he thinks of something. Maybe you have a few wrinkles left, after all. What's the date? * Kyon nods. "More than a few, kid." It's the 29th! 29 is such a cool number. January the twenty ninth, Sato. The *29th*? I thought it was the 28th! Crap! I have practice today! I can't believe I forgot! Well, get going! Sorry about this, guys. I've got to run. * Satoshi nods. "Later!" Oh. You'd better hurry, man. ^_^; * Meimi waves byebye. * Katie waves at Satoshi. "Have fun!" * Chikako waves. * Kyon shrugs and rocks back against the wall. "Yeah. Run." * Satoshi runs in the direction of his locker. * Kyon watches him run off, and looks over the group again before settling his gaze on Jiro. "Got some time?" * Jiro blinks. "Who, me? Uh, I guess. Why?" * Kyon pushes himself off the wall and rolls his shoulders. "I think it'd be good to have you around now." * Meimi keeps watching Jiro. * Katie tilts her head and watches. * Jiro seems confused. "What, you mean with the rest of you guys?" Well _I_ certainly don't object to having you around. ^_^ * Katie grins at that. * Kyon looks at the other two critically, then shrugs. "If they want. You're the important one." * Katie blinks at that. "" * Meimi quirks an eyebrow at Kyon. Oh, so -we're- not important, O Mighty One? * Jiro shrugs. "If you say so. I was gonna hang with you guys for a bit anyway, so." * Meimi flicks her wrist three times, each time tossing a small colored ball into the air, and she starts juggling a basic three ball shower. * Kyon glances at Katie. "" You know... it's generally considered impolite to speak in a language that others can't understand. * Jiro watches Meimi juggle. ^_^ I think it's cool! Oh, he's being cryptic anyway. You know what he needs? He needs some tinted glasses and a pair of white gloves. Huh? * Meimi flicks her wrist and tosses a fourth ball in, shifting to a four ball shower. That'd be cool! * Katie snickers. * Kyon shrugs and ignores Meimi, picking up his bag and standing again in a smooth motion. "Ready?" * Katie grins at Kyon. "Sure. One question, though." * Jiro continues to watch the juggling. ^_^ You could find Taro after, you know. It'd be cool! * Kyon looks sidewise at Katie. "Yeah?" Are you sure I can't do both? * Meimi flicks her wrist and adds a fifth ball, but badly botches the switch to a five-ball shower and the balls go flying. Anyhow, I'm going to the press room. Stop by after you're done and I'll give you the paper. It's so cool! Argh! * Chikako leaves. * Katie idly catches one of the balls that comes near her. * Meimi grabs for the one ball that fell near her and scrambles after the next nearest. * Jiro helps Meimi pick up the balls she dropped. * Kyon waves curtly to Chikako's back, and takes care to be away from the balls. * Kyon shrugs at Katie. "No. I don't know how long this is going to take." That's fair. Here you go, Meimi. * Katie holds the ball out to the other girl. * Meimi takes it gratefully. * Meimi takes the balls that Jiro collected. "Thanks. *_*" * Jiro holds out the balls he collected to Meimi. "Your welcome." ^_^ I just can't manage to get that right. * Meimi looks down. Don't worry. I'm sure you'll get it eventually. ^_^ * Katie nods. "It's all practice, right?" It's not _all_ practice. A five ball shower is... well... the number of people in the world who can do it is in the single digits. Ah, I didn't know that. If I figure out how to do it, I'll be famous! * Katie laughs. "You'll be famous anyway." * Kyon hefts the bag, and turns to Jiro. "OK. Anything more here for you?" * Jiro checks his stuff; his backpack, his tube of shop supplies, and his jacket. "I think I have everything." * Kyon nods curtly, and turns to head off. "Good. Let's go." * Jiro nods and follows. * Meimi watches Jiro go. *_* * Katie tugs on Meimi's arm and tilts her head to the boys. "Come on." * Meimi nods eagerly and follows Katie. * Katie grins and walks after them. "He didn't say no, so I'll take it as a yes. Besides, I'm curious." * Meimi grins. * Kyon stalks down the corridors around towards the school pool. * Jiro dutifully follows. [The pool is at the far end of the school. It's big, though about normal size for any pool, with a good deal of walking room around it, and a door that leads outside (as well as doors to the locker rooms, naturally). The ceiling is nice and high. Of course, there's a diving board, too.] * Kyon checks around the door as he opens it cautiously, quickly scanning the room. * Jiro doesn't ask why Kyon's leading him here, since he's pretty certain he won't get an answer anyway. [There's one person in the room: a rather attractive girl, about your ages, just getting out. She's wearing a one-piece swimsuit and is currently towelling her hair dry. Her hair is black, falling down to her shoulder blades and ending in light curls.] * Kyon steps halfway to the pool and peers down at the swimmer. [Time is 3:30 P.M.] * Jiro blinks at the girl in the swimsuit, but decides to have a look around. * Swimmer doesn't look up from drying her hair. "There's no practice today, but they said students can use the pool any time, so if you've got a problem, take it up with the coach." * Kyon steps forward a bit closer to the water, and looks her over. "No problems from me." * Katie steps in and notices the girl. A small frown appears on her face. * Swimmer looks up as Kyon approaches. She stops drying her hair and the towel drops. So does her jaw. * Meimi steps in after Katie. Uhhh... I... * Kyon rocks back on his heels and looks at her. "Yeah?" * Swimmer blinks and shakes her head. "Wait... Aren't you the student council vice president?" * Kyon nods tersely. "Yeah. Who are you?" Riko. I was hoping to meet you. * Kyon cocks his head, and pulls his hands out of his pockets. "Yeah? Why?" * Riko suddenly rushes at Kyon. "So I can make you pay!" ( Everyone roll init ^^ ) d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (d6+5) and gets 8. d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jiro (d6+8) and gets 13. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kyon (d6+6) and gets 12. d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Meimi (d6+7) and gets 12. [Order: Jiro, Riko, Kyon, Meimi, Katie.] [Jiro's turn] * Jiro runs up, putting himself between Kyon and Riko, presumably with the intention of preventing Riko from smacking Kyon around like a rag doll. ( And if I have action left after that, I'm holding it. ^_^ ) [Riko's turn] * Riko keeps her charge. When she gets close enough, she shrieks "Out of my way!". She spins and kicks Jiro in the ribs so hard that he's lifted through the air and lands on the ground. All that, and it really hurt, too.] [Kyon's turn] * Jiro gets to his feet, shaking his head. * Kyon reaches down quickly into his bag, and draws out his rapier as he rocks back on his heels defensively. [Meimi's turn] * Meimi waves her hand and a curtain of flame about six feet across and six feet wide springs up in front of Kyon. ( The fire, by the way, is nice and hot. ) [Katie's turn] * Katie withdraws a small red tube from her pocket and watches the group with a worried look on her face. * Jiro runs full tilt out of the fire, stopping to drop and roll once he's clear. [Riko's turn] * Riko seems surprised at the flames, at first, but ignores them and charges right through, to Kyon. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kyon (2d6-2) and gets 4. * Riko throws a punch at Kyon's chest, but he bats her arm away with his free hand. [Kyon's turn] * Kyon loosens his stance to normal fencing, and does a simple hard thrust at Riko's shoulder. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kyon (2d6-4) and gets 1. [Kyon sticks her with the pointy end of her sword. She screams and takes a step back, clutching the bleeding wound. "Jeesus!"] [Meimi's turn] * Meimi says fuckit and lets the worthless illusion go away. [Katie's turn] * Katie moves towards the fighting and looks from the girl to Kyon and back. "Stop this. Please." [Jiro's turn] * Jiro gets back to his feet, looking a little embarrassed. [Riko's turn] 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kyon (2d6-2) and gets 2. * Riko shrieks in rage and throws a kick at Kyon's head, but he ducks under it. [Kyon's turn] * Kyon comes up with a fist aimed squarely at the underside of the girl's chin. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kyon (2d6-2) and gets 0, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "Hey, a crit! Remember this next Christmas." [Kyon's fist lands with a crack and knocks the girl to the floor. She gets into a sitting position and wipes blood from her mouth.] Damn you. You're just like he said. * Riko staggers to her feet. * Kyon cocks his head, sword out in front of him at the ready, back on his heels. "Yeah? Who's he?" * Riko flashes with rage. "You don't remember?! You've forgotten already? Or have you made so many enemies that you don't remember any of them?!" * Riko staggers towards the girl's locker. "Doesn't matter. I'll remember." * Katie glances at Kyon, then looks over to Meimi. * Kyon smirks at her back, before saying in a soft, commanding voice, "No. I want to know. Tell me." * Meimi just stands in the doorway, smirking at Kyon. * Riko vanishes into the locker room. * Katie shakes her head, then runs to the girl's locker room. * Jiro does not follow. c.c (Good boy. ;P) * Kyon rolls his shoulders, and puts the sword back in the bag before straightening up and looking after her towards the door. * Jiro frowns, and shakes his head as if to clear it of something. You always stick people with a sword when they punch you? * Kyon looks at her sidewise. "No. But ones who are willing to run through fire to get to me take a lot of dissuading." * Meimi scowls. She shouldn't have been willing to do that at all. * Jiro shakes his head again, and the rubs one side of it. * Meimi runs up to Jiro. "Are you okay?" * Kyon turns to regard her full on as she runs over, and smirks. "Because your fire should have been so real she wouldn't go through?" * Meimi totally ignores Kyon. Huh? Oh, I'm fine. Uh, thanks. Just... I dunno. * Kyon shakes his head bemusedly, then surveys the pool again. So, uh. How'd you do that thing with the fire? A little of this, a little of that. * Meimi smiles enigmatically. It's magic, you know, and a good magician never gives away her secrets. * Jiro nods. "Pretty cool trick, tho. Too bad whatserface didn't fall for it." I mean, I did. ^_^; * Kyon rolls his eyes while his back is to Meimi, and lets his eyes rest on the locker room door again. ( Sadly, Kyon does not have X-ray vision :P ) (Just waiting. =P) * Kyon rocks back and forth on his heels, and jams his hands in his pockets as he looks back to the other two. * Katie walks out of the locker room, looking none the worse for wear. * Kyon turns quickly to watch her walk out, looking her with one eyesweep to verify her wellbeing. [Katie is clearly not dead.] * Katie looks over at Meimi and Jiro, then settles her gaze on Kyon. "Do you have any idea what that was about?" * Kyon shrugs lightly. "Old enemy's ally, from what she said. I don't know who." How many did you have? * Kyon straightens, and looks down. "I don't know. People might not have liked me after I stopped dealing with them." He stops, and shakes his head. "No one's coming to mind." No? Hm. * Katie shrugs. "Well, I'm sure it'll come to you sooner or later." She walks over to Meimi and Jiro. "How's he doing?" He's fine. ^_^ * Katie grins. That's good. * Kyon turns slowly, and regards Katie's back. "Did she tell you anything?" [Time: 3:45] * Katie glances at Kyon. "Nothing concrete. I'm still thinking over what she said." By the way, using that sword? Overdone. You just look worse now. For a VP, you really have no sense of public relations. * Kyon shrugs. "She ran through a fire to get to me. It called for something strong. I could have done far worse." * Jiro shakes his head. * Katie frowns. "Using less force than what you can possibly do is a very different thing from using the correct amount. You of all people should know that." * Kyon nods tersely. "True. And using too little force to be a deterrent is also very different. If she's that devoted, and strong enough to knock him across the room with a kick, it's called for." If you want to think that, fine. Just remember that if you hit her somewhere else, you could have killed her. * Katie turns to Meimi. "I'm going to find Taro now. You want to come?" Sure, why not. ^_^ At least I can help someone else find a date. * Katie grins. "Great." She starts heading out of the locker room. "And I still say he'd say yes to you." * Meimi follows after Katie. Huh? ?_? * Kyon shrugs, and smirks at Meimi's back as he calls after her, "Just ask Jiro." ...*huh*? Just ask me what? * Kyon looks over at Jiro. "Ask her tomorrow." He checks his watch. "Wonder if Chikako's still in the paper office?" * Jiro shrugs. "I dunno." * Kyon scoops up his bag, and nods to Jiro. "Let's go see." * Jiro blinks. "See what?" * Kyon starts walking towards the door. "If Chikako's still in the office." Oh. Okay. * Jiro follows Kyon. * Kyon walks down the hallways to the paper office, and knocks once before trying the doorknob. [The office is, surprisingly, not a mess. Chikako's sitting at the editor's desk, writing. She looks up when the door opens, and grins.] * Kyon smiles a sliver of a smile, and nods to her. "Hey. I realized, I didn't get a paper before." * Chikako grins. "Did you meet your cool friend?" * Kyon nods curtly, and his smile falters. "Yeah. She and I aren't as cool as before. She gave you the note?" * Jiro gets lost in that question and so looks around for something to stare at. * Chikako nods. "Uh-huh!" That's too bad. She seems like a cool person. * Chikako holds up the newspaper so Kyon can see the picture of Riko on the front. "See?" * Kyon shrugs. "Maybe she is. I don't know." He blinks at the picture on the front and takes the paper, murmuring a quick thanks in Chinese as he does so, and starts reading the accompanying article. [The article describes how Riko Tokuzawa transferred in from Aomori. She's joined the swim team and athletics team, as well as a karate class, which is incidently taught by the principal and 3 time tournament winner, Quentin Nagawa.] * Kyon narrows his eyes, and reads more quickly through it. Then reads through it again. [She's a first year student, but that's all you get :P] * Kyon thinks for a minute, then scans the rest of the paper for anything useful. [Kyon doesn't find anything else of particular interest. Unless he missed the bit about a petition to hold off the dance until Taki recovers.] * Kyon nods, and folds the paper, stuffing it in his bag. "Thanks. That's a good article on the swimmer." * Chikako nods. "Thanks. It's cool!" * Kyon nods thoughtfully. "You don't take fiction, do you?" Huh? Only on April Fools. It's cool! We do this cool joke paper. * Kyon pulls a chair out from a nearby table and straddles it. "Not like jokes, like a story. I'm friends with a writer. Pretty good fiction, popular. I could get him to give you something." * Chikako thinks about that. "Hmm... Maybe we could let him write something. It'd be cool!" * Chikako nods. "Okay, I'll see what I can do!" * Kyon nods awkwardly. "I'll ask him to get something together. Just let me know when he should have it ready." He turns in the chair to face her more head on. Any time is cool. I'll let him know. * Chikako nods. * Kyon gets up and stretches. "I should get going, though." He cocks his head slightly. "You know a girl named Remi from Seiryuu High, by any chance, Chikako?" * Chikako thinks. "Hmmm... Do you know her last name?" * Kyon thinks a second before shaking his head. "No, but she was friends with the girl who died here. So I thought you might know, since you did the reporting." Oh. * Chikako frowns. "Um... I haven't had time to research much since Taki got shot. It's not cool. But I'll check it out tonight for you." * Jiro scratches his head and might actually be listening. * Kyon nods and gives her a slight, crooked smile. "Cool.
