[Meanwhile, Taki raids a hardware store for a light. A working light. Back to the search.] [Session Start] * Taki teleports through the door of Sly's Random Junk and hopes for a display of candles or glowsticks or paper lanterns or matches or something near the front where the light from the Tokyo Tower will at least be of some help. ( Awareness check. ) [Taki finds a paper lantern from an old summertime festival.] * Taki hurriedly picks up the lantern and checks to see if there's a candle in it. [There is! Now if Taki had a way to light it, that would be kickass.] * Taki lets out a small sigh and goes in search of sources of fire, or some other source of light. ( Awareness check, +1! ) 2d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6+1) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 7. [Taki has less luck finding a light.] * Taki sets the lantern down on top of the cashiers counter and goes deeper into the store. "C'mon they've gotta have lighters in here somewhere." ( Awareness check! ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 3. [Taki manages to find a book of matches, still half full, on a counter inside the store.] I knew it! ::She grabs the book and runs back to the front of the store to light her lantern!:: [Taki gets a nice lit lantern! There's a set of Japanese characters on the front that essentially say "Good times tonight!"] * Taki doesn't have time to care about that! She uses the light to read over the list Haruko gave her and then thinks about how much she wants to be at the Yippie Arcade. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6-3) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 7. (DR1) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6-3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 5. [Taki arrives at the arcade in a flash! Or not. It's silent, there. No games running or nothing.] * Taki holds the lantern up and calls out. "Saki? Ryuji? Are you here? Please tell me you're here!" [No response!] * Taki runs to the front to check for signs of anybody having been in here since the world changed. [There's one guy in there! He's holding a broom and... not moving.] * Taki blinks at the guy. "H... Hey! Are you here?" (How old does he look?) [He looks to be around his mid thirties, and doesn't respond at all when Taki calls.] * Taki tentitavly pokes him in the shoulder. "Hey?" [He doesn't respond! Or even move.] * Taki has one last hope and looks where he's looking. [Taki sees dirt. Oooh.] (Dirt? Like, dirt outside? Dirt on the floor? What?) ( Dirt that the guy was sweeping up before he stopped moving :P ) * Taki sighs and hold up her lantern so she can try and figure out how to get to the place Haruko gave her directions too. (#2 on the list) [Taki has no idea where that place might be.] * Taki crumples the paper in her hand. "C'mon Your Highness, you're the one who gave me that map, try to at least give me a place to start. Damnit." She glares at the guy. "And how come you're here and nobody else is?" Then she looks back at his dirt and then one last look around for signs of Saki. (I don't suppose there's a boot print in the dirt that matches Saki or something. ;p) [Nope!] * Taki rubs the uncovered side of her face and then heads for the principals office of Sakuragaoka High. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6-3) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 2. [Taki arrives! The office is devoid of life.] * Taki sets the lantern on something non-flamable and starts searching for the hardcopies of the student records. "Maybe they went home, I mean if you're not going to go to the great big pillar of light, where are you going to go?" ( Gimme urban tracking (academic) ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 6. [Taki does some scrounging around, and manages to come up with a file!] Okay! Now to find their home addresses! ::She goes for Morikawa first:: [Taki finds it! Saki apparently lives in an apartment building.] * Taki tries to flatten out the paper and steals somebody's pen to write down the address. But does she have any idea where it is? [She does not!] * Taki hopes for better luck with Hazuki and looks him up. [Taki finds his address as well. Apparently, he lives in a house in the suburbs.] * Taki writes that one down too. (Let me guess, she also has no idea where it is either, right?) ( I'ma say no. Taki hasn't been to the suburbs much. ) * Taki sighs again. "Two places left, and the reading said the other one's by the bridge. Alway the last place I look." She picks up the paper and the lantern and goes to the construction site. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6-3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 5. [Taki arrives at the construction site, probably not expecting the scene she gets: more of those demons from before fill the area, crowding around a group of people with their backs pressed to the wall. Saki is there, lying on the ground and quivering madly while another girl looks over her. And Ryuji is standing with his sword, drawn, desperately fending the demons off.] (Always the last place you look) (I WONDER WHY.) * Taki's eyes widen and like the dramatic fool she is, she draws attention to herself. "SAKI!" [Two of the demons leap at Ryuji at once. He slashes at one and it disappates harmlessly, but the other strikes his shoulder before he's able to bring his blade about and eliminate it, too. He steps back, breathing heavily.] (Does anybody else do anything, and what does the girl standing over Saki look like?) ( Taki can't make her out 'cause I don't feel like describing her right now. :P ) [Some of the beasts turn towards Taki as her shout. Ryuji yells, "Get out of here!" before more demons leap at him again, and he's forced to fight.] ( Gimme init roll! ) d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (d6+7) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 11. [Taki, demon1, demon2] [Taki!] * Taki nods to herself mostly and drops the lantern and teleports to Saki and the indescribable girl. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6-3) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 4. [Taki arrives over by the others, where she can see that the indescribable girl is actually Izumi Hanagawa, the shy girl from school.] [She's a short girl with long black hair and glasses.] (*Falls over. Where would Taki know her from, besides just school. I'm drawing a total blank.) ( She wouldn't. Maybe she doesn't recognize her beyond a glance. ) [Either way, the girl is tending to Saki, who's apparently unconscious, quivering and muttering in her sleep.] (Okay!) * Taki speaks hurriedly. "I'mgonnatakeyoutoeverybodyatTheTowerSaki'ssupposedtofighttheotherSakitoendallth is!" [Ryuji glances back, a motion which nearly costs him his head as another demon attacks. He turns to deal with it. "No! If you take her there, these will follow! They're after her!"] * Taki looks up at him. "The other Saki's controlling them! They said Saki's the only one who can fight her and she needs to get healed!" [Ryuji cuts apart another demon. "Take her somewhere far from here! Somewhere safe! I'll hold these off as best I can until you can wake her!"] (Isn't the other Saki the one making the bigass shield thing?) (Maybe, Taki was still confused when she got the explanation.) (I'd believe that.) * Taki nods. "Okay!" She reaches out to put one hand on Saki and the other on Izumi. Then she she tries to go to the school roof. That should be far enough away for now. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taki (2d6-3) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 6. [Taki teleports out! Only to find a cliffhanger! Session End!]
