[Haruko is inside the police station, in the vent above Sergeant Sagara's office. Maintenance just finished mopping up the puddle and inspecting the air conditioner. He found nothing wrong and left, shutting the door after him. What a stroke of luck.] [Start!] * Haruko grins and thinks. ~Yay, it worked!~ ~Felt like I was in there for a week~ ~Come on back, just be quiet~ ~Whoo! I did it! Well, we did it!~ ~Right, we'll be back in a few minutes.~ * Haruko stays up in the vent for now. ~Taki's teleported off somewhere. I'm calling her now.~ ~Won't that make her more tired?~ ~Calling sounds smart~ ~I'm glad healing isn't tiring, it takes forever~ ~She's on her way back now.~ ~Good~ ~I wish she hadn't run awa- off like that.~ ~Okay, she's back.~ ~Her nature matches her ability~ ~Good~ ~She's learning to stay~ ~Except then she gets sleepy again~ ~It kinda sounds like she's a puppy that needs training... that's a really horrible thing to think about one's girlfriend, isn't it.~ ~Horrible or kin-~ ~Kyon's motorcycle, poor thing, I need to take better care of it~ ~You aren't wrong~ (Has she noticed any good lookout spots? Maybe a vent that opens to the appropriate side of the main room?) (Haruko fails to find a good scouting vent) * Haruko searches around a bit and thinks increasingly frustrated thoughts before working her way back to the vent over the Sergeant’s room. ~We'll have to talk about things sometime, won't we?~ ~Yeah~ ~Maybe I shouldn't have pushed you two together~ ~Stupid, badly organized vent system~ ~But it wasn't any better before either~ ~Taki and Kaede are coming in.~ [You arrive in the sergeant's office! It's kind of dark in there, though there is some light coming from outside the window, and from inside the window: there's glass over looking the cubicles. The blinds around the glass are closed, though. 'Tis a good thing for you.] [Sergeant Sagara's room contains two filing cabinets, a computer, a large desk with three drawers, some pens and pencils, some photographs, a phone, a fax machine, a paper shredder, a waste bin... a coat rack? I dunno. Stuff like that.] * Haruko slowly flows down into the room, now that everyone is here. As she then flows from the desk to the floor she rematerializes. [Ninjas attack and kill you all! BAD END!] ( Erm, just kidding. ) * Taki checks her watch and then watches Haruko flow down and solidify. She shivers. * Kaede goes straight for the paper shredder! Well, no not really. But he does take out some thin gloves out of his pocket and starts flicking them, muttering low. "Never thought I'd be doing this after school." [The paper shredder shreds Kaede to bits. BAD END!] ( Erm, never mind that either ) * Haruko uses the sleeves of her robes as gloves and begins to check through the room. She starts by checking if there's anything interesting in the waste bin. * Taki does her best not to touch anything and to stay out of the way of the other two. [It's empty! The janitor got to it already.] * Kaede starts up the computer and watches the boot sequence. Exciting! [Windows 2000 FTL] * Haruko then checks over the desk drawers. She takes her time about it. Best to be silent rather than quick. * Kaede winces at the choice of operating system and turns off anything that might give any sound. [The first thing that comes up is a password screen. Meanwhile, Haruko finds a picture on the desk. Three people in it: Sagara, an older woman, and a girl who looks both about your age and familiar.] ( Gimme a mind (memory) roll! ) (Make) [It's Akari, like Katie said.] * Haruko takes a good look at the older woman's picture, hoping to remember it for later. She then checks through the rest of the desk. [The GM tries to come up with ideas for what a cop would have in his desk. [Haruko finds a pack of sticky notes and an unopened Snickers bar.] [Meanwhile, Kaede has some difficulty.] * Kaede frowns and puts his hands on the keyboard for a second. * Haruko finishes up with the desk and then heads over to the cabinet. * Taki moves out of Haruko's way and whispers to Kaede. "Ha... have you found anything?" * Kaede takes in a deep breath and finally starts typing trying to crack the password. Anyone looking at the screen and his fingers might notice that some of the letters are actually coming onscreen in-between him actually pressing the keys. [The cabinet is.... locked. Dangit. Oh, but Haruko did find the keys in the desk! There's something.] * Taki is looking and therefore sees, and blinks. * Haruko grabs the keys with a sleeve and unlocks the cabinet. She returns the keys to the desk drawer for now. [Kaede accidentally kicks the power cord under the desk, and the computer shuts off abruptly.] * Taki starts. * Haruko glances over and stifles a snicker. [The cabinet contains a lot of files from cases closed and still open.] * Kaede curses under his breath and gives Haruko a stare. ( Kaede's oogling Haruko! ) * Haruko looks through. She's focusing looking for files on: Drugs, Arcana murders, anyone they know, the party. * Kaede goes to put the plug in and tries again. ( Gimme a police sciences (forensics) roll, Haruko ) (Make by 3) [Meanwhile the computer reboots.] [Oddly enough, there aren't many files related to the drugs in there. Haruko does find one about Yurika Miataka, however, as well as another one that suggests Sakuragaoka may be involved. There's a few other names in there you don't recognize, but none of them seem to lead anywhere.] * Taki watches Haruko search while Kaede waits for the computer to reboot. * Haruko frowns as she reads. * Kaede tries again with the last thing he was trying before, except this time with more irritation. * Haruko skims through Yurika Miataka's file first to see if there's anything she doesn't know. [the file says she may be holding out, but other than that, not really, no.] * Haruko goes on to the Sakuragaoka files. She also thinks any notable drug related names to Satoshi. (Want us to keep the names vague for now?) [It doesn't name anyone in particular, but there's a document of all the incidents that have occurred, as well as a list of the students missing, including Hiro Kasuga and Jiro Hosukawa. Yushiro Kageri's name also pops up.] [Meanwhile, Kaede gets into the computer! There's lotsa files.] (I meant the earlier names from "There's a few other names in there you don't recognize,") * Kaede finally cracks into the computer and takes in a deep breath, rubbing his knuckles. "Okay. This is where it gets interesting..." He starts looking up files and e-mails. Drugs, Arcana, Akari, and the gangs. Also anything that sounds like Chariot or Yurika. (Or Tenjirou actually.) * Taki looks away from Haruko and watches Kaede again, but given that she doesn't understand any of what he's doing, she's not getting much from it. [Kaede finds an e-mail draft addressed to the police force telling them to be on the lookout for someone matching Tenjirou's description. But it hasn't been sent yet. There's another, with a description that matches Matthias and Takashi. Again, unsent.] [There's nothing about Arcana per say, other than referring to the name of the drug.] * Kaede looks for reports of general strangeness. Then hmms and stops, putting his hands on the keyboard and closing his eyes. [Kaede does find a bunch of e-mails in a folder with attached reports about cases involving the drugs, though. The e-mails ask him to file these reports, but apparently he never did, due to a filter "accidentally" putting them in the wrong folder.] * Taki looks at Kaede standing in front of the computer and at Haruko reading reports, she makes a mental note to bring gloves next time. * Haruko does open up the reports so that Taki can read them too. * Taki holds up her bare hands and whispers. "Thanks, but... I can't ask you every time I need to turn the page." * Kaede nods slightly and opens his eyes, speaking low and mostly to himself. "As I thought." * Haruko nods. * Haruko finishes up with the report she was working on and then does one last quick check to make sure there's no other material relating to Arcana in the two cabinets. * Taki goes back to Kaede and whispers to him. "Wh...what did you find?" * Kaede takes out a disk and starts copying what he can to it. * Taki goes back to Kaede and whispers to him. "Wh...what did you find?" * Haruko glances over to note Kaede's success. She then, assuming there were no more files of note, returns everything to the cabinets. After that she shuts and locks the files and then returns the key to where she found it. * Kaede keeps on typing, doing a few more searches, generally looking for hidden directories and such. "Enough. It's really a shame we didn't get to it earlier though." * Taki nods and looks down. * Taki nods and looks down. * Haruko smiles at that and speaks softly. "I'd long said we need to do more burglaring." She then goes on to check for any incidental materials in the office. Things in jacket pockets, hidden papers, what have you. All the while she's careful about fingerprints. * Kaede looks at her for a second. "I didn't mean today." He goes back to the computer. "He's been altering these files. I'm not sure how much of it I can actually recover." [Officer Sagara doesn't seem to be much of a computer guy, so instead of making hidden directories he just got rid of anything that wasn't safe.] (Well, if he's not much of a computer guy, then recovery should be easier.) * Kaede tries to fill in the blanks, then, after he saves copies of the files to disk. "Fortunate for us, he's sloppy." * Taki blinks. "Sloppy?" * Haruko replies quietly. "I've called for it before today. And glad to hear it." She smiles more broadly. "Good thing you're way better than him." * Kaede shrugs. "I figure we'll get a chance to look at it more fully out of here. I'm just skimming for now. Don't have time for the full rundown." * Kaede searches through the files again for any drug-related descriptions of people he doesn't know. * Haruko nods quickly and goes back to her double checking in case there's anything else around. [There's not much else to get!] (for both of us?) ( Yeah ) * Haruko makes sure everything is back in place. She grabs the bobby pin she used as a lock-pick earlier and stands next to Taki, ready to port out. * Kaede nods and gets to work on the logs, making sure to take out any indications that the computer was even logged into. Just in case someone ELSE is smarter. * Haruko watches Kaede's technique. It'll probably be way too fast for her to pick up anything, but it might be interesting. (And make by 7 for good measure. ^^ Penalize as needed.) [Kaede does that.] * Kaede lets off the final keystroke and then logs out. "That should do it." * Taki reaches for Haruko's hand while she waits for Kaede. "I'm just glad to be getting out of here." * Haruko takes Taki's hand. * Kaede slips the disk away and takes the other hand. * Taki vanishes with Kaede and Haruko.
