[Day: Saturday, April 23rd. Time: 10:30 a.m.] [Weather: Still snowing! Hasn't been that long, really.] [After contacting Hiromi, explaining the situation and using Kyon's charm to convince her to go watch over the people you rescued, you board the train back for Tokyo! Isn't that great?] [Session Start] * Satoshi finds a seat not next to Taki. * Taki is avoided, and doesn't seem to care. She has her backpack on her lap and is staring out the window. * Kyon stalks into the car, and finds the seats he reserved. He puts his bag on the rack above him, and sits down next to the window, keeping the other seat next to him available. * Kaede takes the seat...not next to Kyon. But instead sits in one that lets him see out of the train. He sets his laptop under the seat or at his feet, whichever the seat will let him do. (Kaede, pick somebody to sit next too! Like !Satoshi over there.) * Katie follows Kyon in, looking around. She reaches the seats Kyon picked out, glances at one of the doors to another car, and slips into the seat next to him. Her satchel goes beneath her chair, which means it pokes at her feet. (Do I have to?) (No, but if you don't the entire trip will be nothing but Katie and Kyon flirting.) (So you want to stimulate Satoshi/Kaede flirting. Gotcha.) (It's easy enough to flip chairs around, actually; you could have four people, two on each side, facing each other. (Of course.) * Kyon glances over at Katie as she sits down, then looks back out the window into the station, scanning to see if there's anyone out there he knows. * Katie lets out a sigh and tries to relax. "I hope we find Winston." We have to also think about how we're going to avoid the attention of those watchers. ( That part's easy. Show them old TV shows. ) I'm not sure what we could do. Although we could not get near them until we know more. * Kyon nods tersely. "Can't be hard to avoid them. Know where they are already." I don't know if they're even watching us. That's not exactly what I meant. What did you mean? * Kaede sighs and looks up. "They're watching the Tower. To get to Winston, we have to go to the Tower. We don't know exactly what they *do* yet, either..." We could find Jin. He might be able to get us to Winston another way. And... that would be easier? It's possible. But unlikely. *shrugs* We may just be resigned to alerting them. (*reaches through his screen and slap Greg IC) Not easier. It just avoids the tower. * Kyon looks back in at the group. "Right. But we have no time. So we just risk it, unless he shows up on the way to the Tower." * Katie nods. * Satoshi seems content with that. But just to realize that keeping it low-key might be important is good to remember. * Kyon nods tersely, and smirks. "So I'll call the marching band and send them home from the station." * Satoshi chuckles. You have a marching band? Why didn't I know this? * Kaede rubs the bridge of his nose. "Actually, the one we *most* need to remind about being low-key isn't here anyways." * Kyon nods quickly. "I'll send her a text message. No roaring up on the bike to the Tower." He looks sidewise at Katie. "And it wasn't the real marching band. Just a joke." Oh. * Katie pouts. You could start the marching band. I bet you could whittle a baton. * Taki continues to stare out the window. * Satoshi considers Kyon's text message. "Telling her that may be wise. She may just be thinking about the bike for the next few days." It's Haruko and her first love. She'll be happy until the end of the world. Or... until the bike gets wrecked, so maybe for an hour. * Kaede takes out his notepad, looking down at it and starts tapping with a pencil. "I don't want to know what her second love is." * Kyon shoves his hand into his pocket and tugs out the cell phone and flips it open. He inputs the message to Haruko quickly. She'd probably just fix it again. And again after the second hour. * Taki looks at Satoshi for a moment, and then returns to the window. * Katie glances over at Kyon's phone. Oh no, she's eavesdropping! So to speak. Awww.... Understood. * Kyon flips the phone closed again and shoves it away. "She breaks it that much, she won't be able to afford to keep fixing it." * Satoshi enjoys the ride for the moment. Won't she be driving illegally? Since when has that stopped her? * Katie shrugs. "Never, but I'm just saying." And asking me to hack into police records wasn't? * Katie rolls her eyes. She told me she was going to take the test to get a full license. She's eighteen now. * Taki looks at Satoshi again. * Kaede looks at Taki. * Kyon nods quickly. "Wouldn't be buying a bike if she couldn't use it." * Satoshi looks at Katie, as that's who ask the question. * Taki tilts her head to the side, and then goes back to looking out the window. * Katie looks back at Satoshi. "You and Haruko are pretty close." We've been linked a lot lately. Her every third thought was about getting the bike or her license. * Kaede glances at Satoshi for a moment, then chews on his lip, then goes back to writing in his notepad. And that was when she was focused. * Katie nods. * Kyon looks back out the window with a smirk. "Least she didn't run off in the night with the bike." * Katie snorts. "Nah, she was too busy being upset with me." * Kaede tilts his head towards Katie. "Is that new?" * Satoshi sort of half-nods at that but doesn't elaborate. More upset than normal. * Kyon turns back enough to look at Katie sidewise. "Her convictions. You should have known it was coming." * Katie looks at Kyon. "I knew. I just didn't care enough to do things differently." * Kaede looks about to say something, then frowns and goes back to writing in his notepad. * Kyon shrugs quickly. "Right. And she got her say." * Katie shrugs back and glances around the car again. * Taki is still there, and still watching the window. * Satoshi lets the silence go for a bit and then glances over at his ex. "How are you doing, Taki?" * Kyon rests a hand by Katie's leg on the edge of the seat between them, not quite touching her, but turns to look at her more fully. "Should talk when we get there about how to keep relations between you smooth." * Katie sighs. All right. * Katie bites her lip for a moment, then says, "I don't *want* to be on Haruko's bad side." But I can't really avoid it. * Kyon cocks his head. "Can try to work something out so that you don't constantly rub each other wrong, though." * Kaede glances up at Kyon and looks over for a moment. * Satoshi glances over to the Kyon/Katie conversation and seems to be considering comment. He suppresses that instinct and looks back to Taki with some concern. * Taki isn't currently eyeing Satsoshi so he only gets to see the side of her head. You can try it. I don't think she'll listen to me anymore. * Kaede looks back down and goes back to writing. "I think it's interesting that there's all that effort." * Kyon shrugs quickly. "Can't risk having the group fly apart in the middle of an encounter." * Satoshi sighs and glances down before shaking his head and looking over at his ex again. "Taki? You feeling alri-- about the same?" Me and Haruko have been at odds almost since the moment we met. It hasn't flung the group apart. * Katie reaches down and lightly touches the top of Kyon's hand. "That's not the same as what's happening now, Kaede." * Taki looks at Satoshi. "Yes." * Kaede closes his notebook. "I suppose not..." I'm just realizing how different everything is from the way I thought it was. * Satoshi nods. "Oh?" But if Haruko can't adjust... * Kyon looks down at his hand, flexes it slightly, but leaves it and looks away, shoving his other hand into his jacket pocket. * Kaede looks back over at Taki after she starts speaking. "What makes you say that?" You are closer to Haruko than I thought, Katie likes Kyon and he likes her, Haruko doesn't listen. The list goes on. * Taki shrugs. "I must not have been paying attention." * Satoshi looks over to Kyon and Katie and notes the hands. He then glances back to Taki. "Yeah..." * Katie stares at Taki for a moment, then she starts smiling a little. * Kyon glances sidewise at Taki. "Good you finally woke up, then." * Taki looks at Kyon. "If you say so." * Kaede looks back and forth at the exchange, then looks at Taki, sighing. "We've all got things clouding us, I guess." ( Yeah, I just came out of this terrible relationship... Oh... right.. awkward.) It's good to see things as they really are. Even if it does hurt. * Taki nods. "It still doesn't hurt, but I don't think that will last forever." * Kaede glances back at Taki. "Numb?" * Satoshi purses his lips after hearing the "Don't think it will last forever" bit. * Taki looks at Kaede. "Yes." * Kyon nods tersely, then tugs his cards out of his pocket and rests them on his leg, still not moving his other hand. "So use the time to figure out what to do next." * Kaede leans back in his seat and stares at the ceiling, arms spread across the back of the seats near him. "I know numb." * Satoshi nods. "If it starts to hurt again, please tell us Taki." I feel like I'm just waking up from the numb myself. * Taki gives Satoshi a blank look and then nods. Thanks. * Kyon riffs the cards with one hand against his leg, then gently moves his hand out from under Katie's and gives them a sharp shuffle. * Katie starts slightly and turns to watch Kyon shuffle. (For the record, since this is super light, I'm likely going to go to bed before midnight.) * Kyon shuffles again, then takes the card in one hand and pulls up his food tray from beside the seat with the other. * Taki watches Kyon now. "What is this reading for?" * Kyon takes the first card off the top, and puts it down at the top center of the tray. [Kyon draws the Two of Pentacles.] * Satoshi looks over, curious. * Kyon nods to the card with his chin. "Now you know." * Katie laughs. "Kaede, you're on Arcana camera." * Taki blinks and looks at Kaede. * Kyon closes his eyes, then flips the next card and puts it down and to the left of the first one. * Taki looks back at the cards. * Kaede raises an eyebrow at Katie and glances over. [Kyon draws the Three of Pentacles.] * Kyon opens his eyes and looks at the card, then draws in a deep breath, blows it out, and places the next card down and to the right of the first card, across from the second one. * Kaede looks up at Kyon. "What kind of reading is this...?" [Kyon draws the Fool.] * Satoshi looks at the card and "Hmms..." * Kyon smirks. "The sort I often get asked to do." He taps the third card with his right index finger, then closes his eyes, draws in a breath, and puts the fourth card below the second one. [Kyon draws the High Priestess.] * Taki looks at Kyon's face. "What was the question?" Something about Kaede and Akemi? * Satoshi frowns at that. * Kaede shirks back into his chair and looks aside. "...yeah. Something like that." * Kyon looks at it for a moment, then blows out the breath and flips over the fifth card, putting it under the third one. "More general." Well, it's Kaede and Akemi. So maybe his love life. [Kyon draws the Ten of Swords.] That doesn't look good. It would be bad if it is. * Kyon looks sidewise at Katie. "Not bad." He looks back to the cards, draws in one more deep breath, and puts the sixth card below the fourth. * Katie tilts her head. * Kaede glances back over and has a look at the cards. "I think we have to wait until the end..." * Satoshi nods and watches. [Kyon draws the Queen of Wands.] * Kyon blows out the breath, smirks at the card, then flips the last one and puts it below the fifth one without looking where it's going. Definitely not a love life reading then. [Kyon draws the Ace of Wands.] Symbolicaly? * Kaede looks over at Satoshi, narrowing his eyes. "I don't know why you'd think Kyon would be interested in the first place." * Kyon puts the rest of the cards down on the tray to the left of the reading, and smirks at Kaede. "Passes the time." Because it would give him a chance to smirk. He doesn't need more chances. True. * Kyon leans back in his seat, then gestures at the cards on the left side of the reading. "Choices." Then to the ones on the left. "Outcomes." Well, happy to know I amuse you. * Taki looks at them. (and her play scrambles to draw this.) At least now you know what happens if you date Kyon. The ace is that artist guy, right? That's on the wrong side. (I couldn't keep track of the sides for the life of me. :P) * Kyon shrugs quickly. "Could mean you end up with him if you try anything with me." * Taki opens her backpack and digs out a piece of paper. So my choices are Akemi, Shika, and...you? No wonder you're amused. * Katie giggles. (At the top is Two of Pentacles. Down the left is Three of Pentacles, High Priestess and Queen of Wands. Down the right is Fool, Ten of Swords, Ace of Wands. (Sweet, I was right!) Akemi ends as well as I thought. * Kyon shrugs quickly. "I'm a better choice than the priestess." ( Annihilation's not so bad ) Wait. You were just teasing Kaede, right? This isn't really a love reading is it? The truth is the best thing to tease people with. Actually, I'd hate to take you away from...Kaoru, wasn't it? * Satoshi shakes his head and leans back in his chair. "You people are crazy." * Kyon turns up the smirk. "You could take him." * Taki tilts her head. "But she only likes girls, so that wouldn't happen, so this means something else." Nah. Satoshi? That's yours. * Kaede glances at Taki. "Ten of Swords wouldn't be an understandable end to that?" * Taki looks at Kaede. "It wouldn't start." It'd be the outcome of me even asking. * Katie reaches over and lightly squeezes Kyon's hand, then settles back to watch the others semi-argue. (I'm off to bed, if that's all right with the rest of you. Anyone want a mini with me for... whatever later, let me know. ;P) * Taki shrugs. * Kyon shrugs quickly. "Just because those are the options shown doesn't mean those are the only options." He tenses a bit as Katie takes his hand again, but sits back. * Kaede leans back and closes his eyes. "I don't need cards to show me the options in front of me." Yeah, I think Haruko's the only one that would use them as a dating tool. * Kyon gestures with his free hand at the top line. "Least there should be something for you here." ( Well, the only option in front of you is Kyon... :O ) (Challenge Katie to a duel. :P) * Kaede keeps his eyes closed. "I repeat. I don't need cards to show me options." * Kyon shrugs tersely, looking down at his not-free hand for a few seconds, then up again with a smirk. "Going to ignore it?" * Kaede rolls his head back slightly. "Why should I tell you?" * Kyon shakes his head bemusedly. "Don't. I'll just wait." * Kaede opens one eye. "And why do you care?" * Kyon turns his head so that he's half looking at Kaede, half out the window. "Professional interest. Want to see how accurate I am." If you really want to see how accurate you are, we have to start dating. Should go through option 2 first. * Taki looks at Kyon for a moment and then goes back to looking out the window. * Satoshi frowns. "I think Kaede's life deserves a bit more respect than this. It's not like he's trying to attract Arcana." If I go through option 2 first, I won't have an option 1 or 3. * Kaede closes his eyes. "Let him have his fun, Watanabe-san. It doesn't matter to me. * Satoshi looks dubious but nods. "If you say so." Surprised Remi didn't come up in that though... Maybe she's moving on. * Kyon looks back out the window. "Can see. Reading's not complete. Other options may be out there." * Kaede shrugs. "Why not do one for yourself?" * Kyon clears up the cards on the tray without looking at them. "Bad form, doing readings directed just at yourself." For the reading or for the practice? * Kyon stuffs the cards back into his pocket with his free hand. "For the reading. Might influence yourself without knowing." You involve other people in the reading, it works better. [Session End]
