[Date: Saturday, Februray 1st. Time: 1:50 p.m.] [Weather: Fate is cruel (And how!). It's snowing on the day of the dance. Fortunately, the dance is indoors. And it's not for a good seven hours anyhow. So that leaves plenty of time to enjoy the snow. And cold.] [Yesterday, stuff happened. Or did it? Just how much of that was real? You'll have to wait to find out, True Believer! Anyhow, today's the day of the dance; as a bonus school was let out a bit early. Everyone is gravitating towards the usual meeting spot at the lockers.] [Session Start] * Katie hums quietly to herself as she sits by her locker, sketching. * Jiro gravitates towards the lockers, although he probably wouldn't describe it that way. Too big a word, 'gravitate'. * Meimi pops up beside Katie, looking down at her sketch. Whatcha got there, Page? * Katie smiles as she draws. "I was thinking... well." She shows it to Meimi. * Meimi peers. * Meimi smiles. Maybe I'll do one for all of us. Or make a deck, I don't know. * Meimi points one finger down at the drawing and starts coloring. * Katie giggles. * Kyon stands a few lockers down, wearing his jacket and his bag on the floor next to them. He's looking through a stack of papers. * Katie goes back to sketching while Meimi colors. "Morning Jiro," she says as the boy nears them. Hi, Jiro! * Jiro gets to his locker, opens, puts garbage in it, takes garbage out of it, closes it, and then turns when Katie speaks up. "Huh? Oh, hey Katie." * Meimi absently finishes coloring, accidentally making Kyon's face an ugly orange. * Katie winces at that. "Ah, Meimi..." Hi, Meimi. ^_^ * Kyon curses softly in Chinese as he shuffles the papers around. * Meimi smiles happily. * Katie looks over at Meimi, then Jiro. She smiles to herself and just takes the sketchbook back, going back to what she was doing before. [You can almost see the cloud of dust behind Chikako as she runs towards the group.] Hi Chikako. Hiya, Boss. * Chikako skids to a halt. "Hi everyone! The dance is tonight! It's gonna be so cool!" Yeah... *_* * Katie grins, but still doesn't look up. "I hope so." * Chikako hands Katie a copy of the school's newspaper, which clearly supports Chikako's statement with "School dance tonight!" on the front page. * Kyon looks across the hall at Chikako, pushes himself off the wall, and walks over to the group. "Hey." * Katie takes the paper and looks at the front page. "Cool." She sets down her sketchbook to flip through it. * Chikako waves. "Of course it will! (except for out poor GM. Oh, the humanity!) Kyon organized it himself! He's cool like that. * Kyon looks down at the papers he holds, and scowls. "Still organizing. But I'll get it." Still? Are these things always so last minute? * Chikako grins. * Kyon nods tersely. "There's always little things to take care of." The last minute _was_ put there to be used. * Katie grins. "I know, I know. Just giving you a hard time. * Meimi uses her fingers to mimic little demon horns on Katie's head. ^_^ * Kyon shrugs disinterestedly. "Either way, I get it done." * Jiro chuckles. * Katie sticks her tongue out at Meimi. * Katie flips through the paper a bit more. "Okay, I'm done. Anyone else want a turn?" A turn at what? * Kyon nods, and holds out a hand. I'm all for it. ^_^ * Chikako grins. * Katie just holds the paper out. "First one to grab it..." * Jiro blinks. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Kyon (d6+6) and gets 11. [Kyon deftly snatches the paper, and is the winner in a one-man race.] Aww. * Kyon takes it calmly, unfolds it, holds it in front of his face, and starts reading. * Meimi pouts. I thought you were talking about a sketch. * Katie snickers and hands over her sketchbook. "Well..." * Chikako peeks over Meimi's and Katie's shoulders. "A sketch? That's so cool!" * Kyon stops and reads over one story again. * Katie nods. "Want me to make one of you, Chikako? I'm working on people." Sketches? Cool. * Chikako grins. "That'd be so cool!" * Katie nods. "Okay." She flips to a new page and starts sketching away. * Jiro watches, for lack of anything better to do. * Kyon folds up the paper and puts it on his bag before looking over at the sketchbook. * Chikako grins. "This'll be so cool!" * Katie glances up at Chikako. "" she murmurs to herself. * Chikako giggles. "English is so cool!" * Katie finishes before long, as she *was* keeping it simple (for her, anyway). She turns it to Chikako so she can see: it's an upper body sketch of Chikako smiling and holding out a paper. * Chikako grins. Well, actually she hasn't stopped, but you get the idea. "It looks so cool!" * Katie smiles. "Glad you like it. Want me to color it, too?" That'd be cool. Okay. This'll take a while longer. * Chikako blinks as her pager goes off. She takes it out and looks at it. * Katie puts the sketchpad back on her lap and grabs her pen. She starts inking. "Um... I gotta go. I have a few things left to tie up before the cool dance tonight." Bye. Aww, okay. See you there. * Kyon looks at Chikako oddly, then over to the sketchbook, and back again, before shrugging and going back to his papers. "When are we meeting?" * Chikako blinks. "Uhh... I dunno?" * Katie laughs. * Chikako looks at Katie. "Where are you going to meet Taro?" * Meimi giggles. * Kyon rolls his eyes and looks up at them. "Do I have to plan that, too?" * Katie grins, not letting Chikako get one up on her this time. "My place, seven o' clock." Cool. * Chikako looks up at Kyon. "Is Katie's place at seven cool for you?" * Kyon shoots Katie a cool look, and shrugs. "Good a place as any. If here isn't good." * Katie smiles sweetly at Kyon, then goes back to inking o/~ * Chikako grins. "Cool. Let's do that, then. Bye!" * Chikako takes off! * Meimi resists the urge to put a Chikako-shaped cloud where Chikako was. [With most of the clubs cancelled due to the dance today, most of the students have just gone home, so you're about the only ones left.] * Katie looks up from her work to glance out a window. "I wish it wasn't snowing." Now, what's on my mind is this little mystery that's been dropped in our laps. * Katie nods and goes back to inking. * Kyon looks up from the papers, and looks just over Meimi's head. "You mean the wayward Knight?" That too. Though mainly I want to know who the hell hijacked my imaginary friend. [The old man appears long enough to say: "Hijacking something that doesn't exist? Come now, you can do better than that." Then he's gone. :P] If you're not going to say anything productive, shut the hell up, old man. * Katie doesn't look up as she throws a ballpoint pen in the general direction of where the man used to be. * Jiro looks around. "Huh?" [He shows up once more. "Make me." and "You missed!" And he's gone!] * Kyon looks wearily but warily around, then back to Meimi. "They'll probably be together. Whoever it was that took it sent you all to the Knight." * Jiro frowns. That was different. I wouldn't be surprised if that stupid old man is the one who hijacked Takeo-kun. * Katie nods. * Kyon shrugs dismissively. "He doesn't do anything but taunt you. Doesn't seem the kind to try to send you to your death." That's another thing. I don't think that whoever it was was trying to kill Meimi. Or any of us. * Kyon looks down at Katie inking. "So he sent you to someone who wanted to kill you by accident?" No. She's saying that if whoever it is wanted us dead, he and/or she wouldn't have sent that illusion of saki to scare the kid off. * Jiro frowns, and looks like he's deep in thought. For a while, anyway. Then he just looks like he has a headache. * Katie nods. "Besides, Meimi's friend asked her to go. I just went along, and Sh- whoever it was attacked me, not her." * Katie frowns as she keeps inking. How did he know you, anyway? * Kyon nods tersely. "Or, the person who sent you and the person that saved you weren't the same. Either way, sending you to the Knight isn't something an ally would do." And why the heck did he call you Judgement? It's... * Katie sighs and digs out one of her notebooks. The day before the last time we saw him, Shingo was saying something about a dream he had. It must have been very real, because from what I know, it's hard to get such a huge reaction out of him. Never mind that he was spooked, which also seems to be hard. * Katie flips open her notebook, looking for the right page. ... He said something about Chikako trying to kill us with powers... Is she...? * Katie shrugs. "I don't know. She hasn't shown any powers." * Kyon shakes his head tersely. "I tested her. She drew different cards." And there is that. Huh. Also, she was dating Sho or something in the dream. ... And then he said something about me going crazy, being Judgement, and killing everyone. * Katie eyes the page. "And I could fly. ... I like that last one, though." You're not, are you? * Jiro blinks. Not as far as I know. I really hope I don't go crazy and kill everyone. * Katie sighs, setting down the notebook and looking out the window. She twirls a pen between her hands. * Kyon nods tersely. "She always pulls Page of Swords. I think that's who she is." * Katie shrugs. "I don't care, really. I just don't want to go crazy and kill everyone." * Jiro blinks. * Kyon looks at her coolly, and shrugs. "Then don't." * Katie grins, turning to make eye contact with Kyon for what's probably the first time that day. "That's the plan." ["It's good to have ideals. But can you live up to them"? The voice comes from nowhere. Like it's in your minds; a not-quite telepathic message.] * Katie blinks, glancing around. Huh? * Jiro looks around. Yes, she can. * Kyon straightens up, and rocks back on his heels, looking discretely up and down the hall. [Kyon sees nobody! This place sure is empty.] You know, though... The truth really *does* bring you closer to insanity. I haven't seen you do anything out of the ordinary. * Katie nods. "I know." I don't have any powers. As far as I know, anyway. * Kyon smirks at her. "You can draw. Just normal drawings." * Katie laughs. "Yes, and Sho knows about it, too. How bad for me." * Kyon nods tersely, and turns to Meimi. "Not everyone has their skills turn up right away. It takes practice. As I'm sure you know." * Meimi shrugs. * Katie turns back to her inking and grumbles, "" Well, why don't you try flying? Huh? Huh? * Katie eyes Jiro, then facepalms. You said that other guy dreamed about you flying, right? * Katie blinks at Meimi. "Yes, but he also dreamed I was Judgement." I'm reserving judgement on that one. But really, have you _tried_ to do anything out of the ordinary? Maybe all you have to do is use your wings. * Katie blinks again. "I- no, I haven't. Well... no." Exactly. If you never try to fly, you'll never fly. * Kyon looks from Meimi to Katie, and smirks. "Just don't try it anywhere high up. If you're powerless, you don't want to kill yourself finding it out." * Katie laughs lightly. "I'm used to falling. But you're right." [A voice speaks up. "Excuse me? Um..."] Yes? * Katie looks over to the voice. Huh? * Meimi looks around for the source of this voice. * Jiro looks for the source of the voice, wondering if he can actually see it this time. [Near the doors is a girl in the Shunyo high-school uniform. She looks vaguely familiar to most of you.] [She looks over to the VP! "Kyon?"] * Katie peers for a moment, then snaps her fingers. * Kyon looks over towards the voice, and shakes his head irritably. "Kyoko. What are you doing here?" * Kyoko glances at the others for just a sec. "I need to talk to you. In private." * Katie bristles slightly at that, which is an unusual sight, to be sure. * Jiro blinks. * Kyon looks briefly at the others, nods tersely, and walks over towards Kyoko. "Right. The student council office. And this better be important. I've got dance planning left to do." * Kyoko nods. She whispers something to Kyon. * Katie watches them. For once, she's holding very still. * Meimi puts a hand softly on Katie's shoulder. Something wrong? * Jiro blinks. "Uh, you okay, Katie?" * Kyon raises an eyebrow, and looks back towards the group before looking very coolly down at Kyoko, whispering back. * Katie jerks at the touch. "Um..." She glances at Meimi and Jiro, then back. "Tell you in a minute." Okay. * Kyon scowls, and whispers one more time. * Kyoko goes a bit red in the face, and whispers back. * Katie pulls out a pair of ear helpers and pushes them around in one hand. * Kyon straightens, and regards her coolly before saying something softly. * Kyoko looks a bit surprised, and whispers back. * Kyon smirks fiercely, and shakes his head bemusedly before saying a few more words softly. * Katie waits, looking almost impatient as she does so. * Kyoko frowns, and says something back. * Jiro studies the floor. * Meimi amuses herself by sculpting a three dimensional version of Katie's earlier drawing in her hand. * Kyon blows out a breath, and looks her over before nodding and saying one last thing quietly. * Katie blinks at the illusion. * Meimi giggles and makes the tiny little Kyon bang himself over the head with his scepter a few times. * Katie grins despite herself. * Kyoko shakes her head. * Jiro blinks at the illusion, and chuckles. [Another Kyon appears right next to it!] * Meimi blinks. [Then two more!] Hey, neat. What the hell? [Then four more!] I don't think Meimi did that... * Katie gets to her feet and puts the ear helpers on, looking around. ...oh. That's... bad. * Kyon shakes his head, and looks coolly down at Kyoko before saying something. [They continue multiply as they jump off of Meimi's hand. They run around the floor waving their scepters over head any shouting "WAIIIIIIII!"] o_O I think my illusions have been hijacked again. Really. This could get annoying. * Kyoko blinks and looks past Kyon, then at the mini-Kyon's on the floor. "Uhhh..." Uh, yeah. Don't tell me we have to play Bop the Kyon now. Huh? [They continue running around. Good thing nobody's around to see it right now, huh?] * Kyon looks sidewise down the hall, and gives Meimi a cool look. * Meimi gives Kyon a sheepish look and shrugs innocently. * Katie just keeps looking around for whoever's doing this. * Kyon shrugs at Meimi, shakes his head aggravatedly, and look at Kyoko. "Well?" [Soon the floor is all but invisible, lost beneath the hyperactive mini-Kyons.] Huh? Umm... Uh... should we be trying to do something about this? * Katie digs her stuff out from under the Kyons. I don't know what we CAN do. That's what I was going to say. I guess I should go... But if you could, I'd be grateful. * Meimi tries making one of the mini-Kyons go away. [Meimi makes the one in her hand vanish. The others stick around. Fortunately, they seem to have stopped multiplying.] I hope _somebody's_ getting a laugh out of this. ( _Somebody_ is ^_^ ) ( Whoever it is, it's not me. *shrug* ) * Kyon shrugs. "If you need it, you can have it. And I'll let you know if he comes up." * Kyoko nods, not taking her eyes off the floor. "Ah... All right... Thanks." * Katie picks up one of the mini-Kyons and looks at it. [Suddenly, the mini-Kyons vanish with little *pop!*s] * Meimi eyes Katie. * Katie blinks as the mini-Kyon disappears. "If I did that, I have no idea how it happened." * Kyon shakes his head, and nods tersely to Kyoko. "Right, then." He walks back off towards the other group, waving back towards Kyoko over his shoulder. * Kyoko shows herself out. * Katie turns to Kyon. "What was that all about?" * Jiro looks confused, but that shouldn't surprise anybody. * Kyon stops, and leans against the lockers. "The Eight's missing. She was overreacting, I think; it's only been a day. But it's a bad sign." ... * Katie blinks. Reiji? * Jiro blinks. The eight? Eight of Cups. That girl's brother. * Kyon nods tersely. "Right." Oh. Where was he last seen? ...ah. * Kyon shrugs. "Yesterday before school. Probably during school. She left without seeing him. Had to go to her job." * Katie nods as she thinks that over. A little early to be worrying, but yes. * Kyon blows out a breath. "She said she had a bad feeling. She's usually right." * Katie nods again. She turns to Meimi and Jiro. "Oh, and I was like that because she tried to kill me earlier." Ah. I see. * Kyon shrugs disinterestedly. "She won't do it again. Get past it. She'll help you now." * Katie glares at Kyon. "It's easier to say than do. Unlike you, I didn't have anyone trying to kill me until recently." * Jiro blinks. * Kyon smirks. "Right. But if you freeze around your allies, your enemies will think you a much easier mark." Like they don't think that already. * Kyon inclines his head to Katie. "True." He shrugs. "Once you get to know her, it'll be easier. Should I call her back?" * Katie sighs. "I guess it doesn't matter." Go ahead, if you want. * Kyon cocks his head, and gives her a hard smile. "Well. As you wish." He pulls his phone out of his pocket, and offers it to Katie. * Katie stares at the phone for a moment, then takes it. "Fine," she says shortly. "What's the number?" Just hit the down button. She's the second number. * Katie shrugs and does that. She puts the phone to her ear. Hi, this is Katie. Or the Page of Swords. Or one of the girls you saw with Kyon earlier. * Kyon stretches his shoulders, and keeps his eyes on Katie. Apparently, I'll handle being around you better if I spend some time to get to know you, so I guess that's what I'm doing. * Katie smiles slightly. "Yeah, oh." She takes a pen from her satchel and starts tapping it against her leg. * Jiro leans against the lockers and stares into space. Why not? There's got to be more to you than that... plan you had back when. * Katie blinks. "You're sorry." No, you didn't. You should do something about that. * Katie takes the phone from her ear and turns it off. She tosses it to Kyon. * Kyon catches the phone and pockets it, looking at Katie searchingly. "How did it go?" * Katie shrugs and removes the ear helpers from her ears. "Loud," she says, almost jokingly. "She said she was sorry." * Kyon nods slowly, and smirks. "Going to forgive her?" I'll think about it. * Katie tucks the hearing devices away. * Katie sighs, leaning against one of the lockers. She brushes some hair out of her face. * Kyon nods again. "Right. All I'm asking." He gives her a warmer smile. You know... ...that actually looked sincere, Kyon. You should use it more often. * Katie eyes Kyon. "She's right. Who are you and what did you do to the vice president?" * Jiro chuckles. * Kyon lets the smile dissolve back to a smirk. "Still right here. If you're going to be powerless, you might as well have people to look after you." * Katie rolls her eyes and throws the pen she's been tapping at Kyon. "Sure." * Kyon catches it, and shakes his head. "Right. I'm filing the paperwork. Have to make sure your dance is right." [Session End]
