[Day: Wednsday, February 26th. Time: 12:50 p.m.] [Weather: Chilly and overcast.] [Due to yesterday's attack, the day was shortened. There wasn't much by way of actual work assigned in most classes, and some people didn't even come to school. Everyone gathers at the lockers.] [Session Start] * Taki hurries down the hall looking for Satoshi. * Katie leans against her locker, running her fingers over the strap of her satchel. * Kaede has his kaban set down on the ground, yet he's simply staring blankly at the other side of the lockers, up with his back against the wall. * Satoshi walks down the hallway from his last class, heading for his locker. He doesn't seem to be looking for anyone in particular; there's a vaguely distracted expression on his face. * Taki spots her target and nearly runs down a few students who were unfortunate enough to be between her and him. "Satoshi!" * Katie watches Taki run and shakes her head. [Makoto shouts, "Hey!" and Makoto shouts "Watch it!" as Taki nearly runs them over.] * Satoshi looks up when he hears his name called. "Huh?" * Taki skids to a halt infront of Satoshi, "IjustwantedtosaythatI'msorrythatIcouldn'ttalktoyouyester." ::gasps and tries to catch her breath:: * Kaede looks out a bit at everyone else there and slowly slides his back along the wall to sit. A grimacy flinch comes to his face as he does so. Let me try that again: I'm sorry that I got draged off yeterday, and I was wondering how you were feeling. * Katie looks down at Kaede. "Are you all right?" * Satoshi , surprisingly enough, manages to catch most of Taki says. "It's okay. I mean, your dad was really worried about you and all, so... how am I feeling? Better, I guess. Not really okay yet, but better." * Kaede starts fiddling with a pencil he takes out of his kaban, slowly turning it in his fingers, staring at it. Yeah. I don't know. You're acting a lot like me. * Kaede keeps his attention on the pencil, still not looking up. "Hmm?" * Katie smiles faintly as she squats down and taps the pencil. "Usually, when I act like that, something's wrong." * Kaede slowly looks up, speaking brusquely. "I'm not you." I know. * Kaede keeps looking at Katie instead of the pencil though. * Taki nods at Satoshi, "He nearly didn't let me out of the apartment this morning, and I'm glad that you're feeling better. If it had been me...I think I would have run off and hid for a few years..." * Katie sits down fully, pulling out, oddly, a notebook instead of her sketchbook and starts drawing. [A not-quite sonic boom announces the arrival of Chikako!] * Taki shakes her head. "On the bright side, I now know what my dad's getting me for my birthday." * Kaede tilts his head and curiously scoots forward to get a better look at the notebook, not noticing Chikako. I thought about the hiding thing, honestly. But I've done that before. It's... not really good at all. And your birthday's soon? * Chikako waves a newspaper as she runs! "Hey everyone! Look! Look! Good news! It's so cool!" * Taki blinks at Satoshi and simultainiously blushes and sweatdrops, "I...didn't tell you when it was?" * Chikako shoves it at Satoshi. "Read it! Readitreaditreaditreaditreadit! It's so cool!" * Kaede looks up slowly. 'You found out about the bikers." It's more of a statement than a question, and said without much enthusiasm really. * Katie looks up from her sketch and waves. "Chikako!" It's...the..third. * Satoshi takes the shoved paper. "Uh... thanks, Chikako?" He then turns to Taki. "No, but it's never really come up before." * Satoshi blinks. "Of next month?" * Taki nods and then takes a paper from Chikako, "Yep." * Satoshi blinks again. "Um... well... gotta start thinking, I guess." He blushes slightly, then starts looking at the paper in an attempt to cover for it. Don't worry about it, my birthdays are little things. * Taki looks at her paper before she manages to embares herself anymore. * Satoshi looks up briefly. "But they're neat things. And they only come once a year, so... they're pretty special. At least, to me." * Kyon comes around the corner at the other end of the hall than he usually comes from. Got the bag in one hand, and a small box in the other. He looks down towards the group, back down the hall the other way, then heads down towards them. [Right on the front page is the story on the biker attack. The police were unable to question the bikers' motives because they were all dead. Autopsies revealed they were taking a certain drug, and had died of overdoses.] * Kaede takes off his glasses and rubs the bridge of his nose slightly before letting out a long steady breath and standing, very slowly. [The case is similar to previous occurances.] ( Such as that one in session 15. ) * Chikako waves to Kyon. * Taki stares at the article. * Satoshi finally actually *reads* the story. "They all..." All what? Chikako, can I have one of the papers? * Chikako grins at Satoshi. "See? See? I told you! Isn't it cool? Sorta." * Kaede puts on his glasses calmly. * Chikako hands Katie a paper. * Katie takes it. "Thanks." She reads. * Kaede doesn't take a paper, instead reading over Katie's shoulder. I... I don't know. So he was gonna die sooner or later, and... * Satoshi looks around to see if anyone other than the Arcana and Chikako are around. No, the autopsies said he died from the drugs! Not 'cause you hit him in the head! It's cool! * Taki blinks, "So Satoshi didn't..." * Kaede pushes up his glasses and looks long at Chikako. * Satoshi blinks. Then blinks again. "I didn * Kyon finishes coming back. He nods tersely at the others, waves quickly to Chikako, and reaches to get a paper as they talk. I didn't do it? [Satoshi sees Saki coming, grumbling to herself. "Short day... why'd I bother coming?"] Nope! Isn't it cool? I told you it would be! They're still dead. (...I parsed that as '[Satoshi sees Taki coming' and was wondering what my illsion was doing here ^^;) And students were still hurt. * Satoshi looks utterly amazed. "I didn't..." He sobers at Kaede's statements and nods. * Chikako loses her smile. "But... but... Satoshi didn't kill him... don't you think that's cool?" She looks to Kyon and Katie. * Kaede puts his hands under his chin and looks thoughtful for a bit. * Kyon flexes his hand at Chikako. No paper for him yet. * Katie nods at Chikako. "The fact that he didn't? Very cool." * Satoshi runs a hand through his hair. "I think... this is all gonna take a while to sink in. But, Chikako... thank you." * Chikako hands Kyon a paper! * Taki hugs Satoshi's arm, "I think it's good that you didn't kill him, and that we should go visit thoes two." * Kyon takes it, and starts reading over the front story. * Chikako hands Saki a paper, too, when she gets there. * Kaede puts his hands in his pockets. "Still doesn't tell why they came..or..." * Satoshi blushes a bit when Taki hugs him. "It's... it's great. Not that he's dead, because I wish things hadn't turned out that way, but... And visit who?" * Saki blinks as she's handed a paper, but the front page is too good to pass up, so she reads it. * Kaede frowns. "Maybe it does." The students who got hurt yesterday. * Kaede looks around and sighs. "There's got to be a better place to talk than this though." There's a lot of better places. * Satoshi nods, still blushing. "Oh, of course." * Saki heads for the door while reading. You know what I mean, Katie... * Kyon opens the paper, looking for other stuff. "Council room is free." [Nothing else of note.] * Katie looks at Kaede. "Yeah, I do. And the council room would work just fine." * Kaede frowns. "I guess..." Um... I have to get back to the office. I just wanted to deliver the news. It was so cool. * Katie grins. "Thanks, Chikako. We appreciate it." * Kaede nods distractedly and waves. Thankyou for bringing it to us. * Chikako nods and heads off, but looks less perky than usual. Thank you so much, Chikako. * Kyon looks up over his paper and waves quickly to Chikako. * Kyon folds down the paper and looks over the group quickly. "Where's the mechanic girl?" * Kaede looks at Kyon slightly, tilting his head. * Satoshi looks around. "Haruko's not here? Oh, no... I hope she doesn't still feel bad about yesterday." It wasn't her fault at all. It never was. And now that we know what we know... * Taki looks around and then nods, "We need to tell her." * Kaede takes a deep breath. "Haruko'll be fine, I'm sure." It's...nothing to beat yourself up over. A cell phone is going to be so usefull, I just dail...and there's the person I need to talk to. * Kaede frowns a little, then walks out the direction Saki went * Katie sighs, getting to her feet and closing the notebook, stuffing it back in her satchel. Kaede, where are you going? * Kaede calls out over his shoulder, scowling a bit. "The article mentioned drugs didn't it? What'll happen when she reads that?" She'll storm off to the first druglord she can find and beat the crap out of him. * Kaede doesn't slow his pace, still heading after her. I suppose we should go help, or at the least go stop Kaede. * Kyon jams his hands in his pockets and leans back against the lockers. He looks off after Kaede with a smirk, then back down to Satoshi and Taki. "Before you run off. What was the mechanic girl talking about with you a couple days ago?" * Satoshi sighs. "Yeah, although I don't really think now is the time to get in Saki's way." * Satoshi blinks at Kyon. "The other day? Ummm... that was when we were talking about the stick, I think. Or maybe it was something with motorcycles. I can't really remember." * Taki frees an arm to scratch her head, "That sounds about right." * Katie shakes her head and walks after Kaede. "You can't keep up with her, anyway." * Kyon scowls at them. "Don't remember anything else about what she was saying to the biker girl? When I came up, didn't look like it was just about bikes." * Taki contines to scratch, "Didn't she ask Saki if she knew somebody?" * Satoshi frowns. "They were talking about modifications, I think... and about driving in an Arcana field." Knew somebody? I think you're right, but I honestly can't remember who it was. * Kyon focuses on Taki. "Do you?" * Taki shakes her head, "Sorry." * Kyon blows out a breath, then divides his gaze back to both of them. "You remember why she was asking?" It probably had to do with... everything. * Satoshi makes a vague hand motion. She didn't tell us, but it probibly had something to do with...whatever it she's doing. Or maybe nothing at all. I'm not really sure. I wasn't paying much attention. * Kyon looks back and forth between the two of them. "So. You don't remember who it was, or why it mattered. At all." * Satoshi shrugs. "It didn't seem to involve me, so..." * Taki sweatdrops, "That about sums it up...You could go ask Haruko...or Saki, but I don't think Saki would remember either." * Kyon turns away back to his bag, rolling his eyes. "Right." He picks it up. * Kyon looks down the hall in the direction of the way Kaede and Saki went, and goes the other way. * Taki looks up at Satoshi, "So, how do plan to spend the time between now and hockey practice?" * Satoshi looks at Taki and manages a grin. "What, you don't want to go there right now and start practicing? The game's... the game's tomorrow!" I totally forgot about that! Which is understandable, considering yesterday, but... You've had a lot to think about. I suppose we could go now. If you don't think it's worth going after the others. * Satoshi indicates the direction Saki, and then Kaede and Katie, went. For all we know they all got on motercycles and drove off, we have a chance to catch Kyon though. Why? So he can quiz us on stuff that I honestly don't remember, then get annoyed at us? (Nah, he's done with you. He'll only be doing that to other people now. =P) (He can still get annoyed, though. ;p) (And in Satoshi's defense, his player couldn't remember most of that conversation, so he couldn't either. ^_~) He allready did that once, but I can't think of where the others might have gone. Well, we could head thataway and see if we catch up to them. Or we could just head off to the rink. It can't hurt to look. Let's go. * Satoshi nods. "Okay." * Taki switches arms so she can walk next to Satoshi without having to walk backwords. [Outside the school, Taki and Satoshi see Saki and the others halfway to the parking lot.] * Kaede 's just looking over Saki but staying silent. * Saki shrugs. "Tell you what? 'S not like you asked anything." * Kaede strangely still keeps from responding, keeping his full attention on her. * Katie looks up at Saki steadily. "Then I'll ask. What do you know about the drugs and people related to them?" * Saki shrugs. "Know I don't like 'em. Know the Chariot's one of 'em. Know I don't like him even more. Especially since I can't kill the bastard." What did you try to do to kill him that didn't work? ... Hurt him? With? * Satoshi pales a bit at this rather casual talk of killing. Assuming he and Taki actually reached the others, or are at least in hearing range. * Saki ticks off her fingers. "Smash his skull, stab him through the heart, shot him a few times..." * Katie winces. "Invincible isn't an understatement." Duh? * Kaede takes out a deep breath and rubs his nose. "That's pretty thorough yes..I swear there still has to be a way..." * Taki joins Satoshi in going wide eyed and pale. Yeah, duh. Saki..thank you. * Saki shrugs. "Near as I can tell, he ages. Just gotta wait fifty years or so." * Katie isn't wide-eyed and pale, and she nods. "Do you know how many groups are fighting to control the drugs, Saki?" * Kaede goes back to being silent. No idea. * Katie sighs. "Not even a ballpark, huh?" Why involve us though? * Saki stares at Kaede. "Excuse me? You involved yourself. I didn't ask for your help. And I'm still not." * Katie looks at Kaede for a moment, then turns back to Saki. * Kaede looks up at Saki. "I meant why would they come here?" What are they being used for? * Saki shrugs. "Damned if I know." * Kaede takes a deep breath. How many dealers have you stopped so far? * Saki shrugs. "Don't remember. Seven or eight." * Kaede mutters under his breath. "It seems so pointless...they waste normal people that we could just hide in the field from..." Seven or eight? How many of those were Arcana? None. 'Cept the Chariot. * Kaede thinks outloud to himself. "But who's at the top..." * Kaede taps his cheek with his finger, folding his other arm under. Don't think it's him. * Katie chuckles. "Why not?" * Kaede turns to Saki at that, raising an eyebrow. * Saki shrugs. "Doesn't seem the type. Call it a hunch." * Satoshi just listens, still dazed and confused. * Kaede frowns and looks sideglanced at Saki. "You know what that means then, don't you?" * Katie fights the urge to facepalm. She succeeds beautifully. (I saw that hand move from here!) (You did not! <.< >.>) * Saki eyes Kaede right back, leaning forward a bit. "What does it mean?" There's got to be someone worse than Chariot calling the shots... I don't like those prospects... Probably. I'm just saying..if you're right...be careful. And for what little we can do to help, let us. * Saki smirks. "Don't tell me to be careful. I'm older than you." * Kaede smiles slightly. "Maybe so..." and leaves it at that. (Yeah? Well, so's my mother. ;P) * Katie sighs. "I think we've kept you long enough, Saki. Thanks for answering my questions." * Kaede nods slightly. "Thanks Saki...and for what it's worth, good luck." Mmm. * Saki heads for her bike. * Katie turns as Saki does so. "Where's Kyon?" * Kaede lets out a long deep breath as she goes, his gaze turning to Katie's question. * Satoshi finally finds his voice. "What was that all about? Oh, and Kyon's back in school somewhere. We weren't being helpful, so he left." Saki was walking off, and Kaede asked her what she knew. It took some talking, but we got some information. And yes, you heard just about all there was to it just now. * Taki nods. * Katie frowns. "Great." So there's an unkillable Arcana drug dealer out there, and he's not the one in charge. * Kaede rubs his brow. "It always takes some talking..." Not unkillable. Just not killable by normal means. What would you try then? Magic? * Kaede pushes up his glasses at that statement. * Katie looks at Kaede and speaks in a casual tone, but the meaning behind it is plain, "Would you try?" I don't know anything to try, but it's a logical possibility, isn't it? * Kaede shakes his head and folds his arms over his chest. "I'm more worried about who'd be ABOVE Chariot though." It's a possibility. Remember, Saki has her own magic. With any luck it's somebody with a lot of brains, but not much power. That isn't lucky at all, Taki. But said brains can command someone with a lot of power. * Kaede takes a deep long sigh, closing his eyes and unfolding his arms, head tilting a bit at the ground. "And I'm really no good with people..." It would mean dealing with somebody who doesn't seem to be unkillable though. * Kaede puts his hands in his pockets and looks generally up at the sky. * Katie eyes Taki for a moment, then puts a hand to her forehead and runs it through her bangs. "I think I'm going to go... inside. Somewhere. It's cold out here." [Kaede sees an airplane go by, ever so high above.] * Kaede watches the airplane go zoom. * Kaede takes off his jacket absently and drapes it over Katie's shoulders. * Taki nods, "Me and Satoshi were planning to go to the rink in a bit, but it's cold there too." * Katie blinks. "Kaede?" * Kaede snaps out of it. "What? Um... you don't need to give me your jacket. I could just go back into the school. * Kaede looks at his jacket, as if just realizing that he did it. You're right, I don't. * Kaede walks back towards the school without his jacket on. * Katie looks at Kaede blankly, then, "Hey!" She hurries after him. * Taki smiles, "Sometimes he does do things right." * Satoshi smiles a bit. "Guess so. Hey, listen, I realize that there are a couple of errands I have to run before practice. You mind meeting me at the rink later?" Sure, but now I have to think of something to do. Have fun. * Taki lets go of Satoshi and waves him off. * Satoshi blushes slightly. "Sorry. Just don't want you to get bored." See you in a little while! * Satoshi waves back. Bye! * Taki looks around for the others and decides to follow Katie back to the school. * Kaede makes his way towards the computer club room after picking up his kaban * Katie catches up to Kaede and unceremoniously dumps the jacket on his head. [On the way, they run into Kyon.] * Kaede keeps walking with the jacket on his head, not turning back or showing the least sign of irritation or even recognition, just keeps walking. * Katie looks at Kyon right after plunking the jacket on Kaede's head and grins. "Look who showed up." She eyes Kaede and his lack of reaction. * Kyon smirks after Kaede. "Trying to affect blindness?" * Kaede stops, turns around quickly and tosses the jacket back at Katie's head. * Kaede grins slyly while he does it too. * Katie catches it one handed and breaks into a wider grin, throwing it back. I'm not taking it back, Katie Andrews. * Taki smiles and shakes her head. * Kaede tosses it back again. Oh no, you are. It's your jacket. * Katie catches and tosses it back. * Kyon shakes his head irritatedly, and walks off down the hall. * Kaede holds his jacket and slips it back on slowly, eying as Kyon walks away. I can't have you walking home in the cold. Kyon, stop. If he has better things to do that he doesn't want to tell his "allies" about, let him. * Kyon looks back over his shoulder. "Don't see me walking home in the cold. You want to play catch in the hall with a coat, go ahead." So all of you are going to go home now? I don't want to go home. * Kyon shakes his head quickly. "Nah. Got other things to do. Still early." Care to let us in on your little escapades? * Kaede gets serious again, folding his arms. "You still owe me an explanation." * Kyon smirks. "Can get it after I meet with her boy." He gestures curtly at Katie. * Katie turns to look at Kyon. "Taro? What about him?" * Taki blinks. And he isn't my boy. * Kaede 's expression frosts over at that statement. Is he Arcana or not? He sure acts...weird enough... * Kyon shrugs quickly. "Not so much him as where he works. Might not even be there." * Katie keeps her eyes on Kyon. "We don't know." I think it's about time we found out... * Katie nods. "The Pao Pao Cafe. You're going to see about Kyoko's disappearance?" That reminds me... * Kyon smirks. "Somebody's got to check after her." * Taki nods slowly. Yeah, somebody does. If you find something out, you will tell us, right? * Kaede pulls out his phone and looks at it a bit. * Kyon nods quickly, and gives her a hard smile. "Of course. Access to all my resources, remember?" He turns away, and starts to stalk off down the hall again. * Kaede shrugs. "Even if she's at school, she's got to know. And if the others are disappearing..." * Kaede frowns at his own statement and dials Remi. * Katie sighs a sigh of frustration. "Kyon, wait half a minute. For crying out loud." She runs, cutting him off. "Do you *want* to know about our talk with Saki, or not?" * Taki looks between Kaede and Katie, but decides to stay with Kaede for now. * Kyon stops and looks down at her coolly. "Anything important come up?" * Kaede blinks and looks at the phone. * Kaede scowls. "You know what?" I think..we're in a field. * Katie gives Kyon an annoyed look. "You tell me. Do me a favor and stay." What? The phone just died. We are? * Katie groans. * Kyon regards Katie for a moment, then rocks back on his heels and looks around. Well..it's disconnected...I'm not sure what that means... * Katie looks around. "Might not be Arcana related. I don't see anyone coming." [Kyon sees the computer lab not far away.] [Eriko is standing outside it.] Maybe something happened to the phones...or maybe she's in a field. * Kaede rubs his forehead. "Maybe I'm just paranoid.." * Kaede blinks at Taki suddenly. "You don't think..." No...that's just paranoia. * Kyon rolls his eyes. "Try dialing again." * Taki nods, "It's possible, but that's probibly not what happened." * Kaede tries to hit the redial. * Kaede frowns even more. * Katie watches Kaede. "It didn't work?" It's not getting through at all... * Kyon jams a hand in his pocket, pulls out his phone, flips it open, and hits the quickdial button. Try another number? * Kaede dials home. * Kaede hits the button to turn it off. "No answer. But at least it's ringing..." I think it's on her end, then. * Kaede frowns. "Yeah..." Her batteries might have died. ::tries to think of what else she knows about cellphones:: * Katie smiles faintly. "If you're worried, you can just wait for Seiryuu to let out, then try to find her." I suppose..but if it's too late by then... If her phone went off in class... * Kaede gets a weak voice. "...all I wanted to do was tell her we may have found more about the drugs..." * Katie walks up to Kaede and puts a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sure she's fine. Cell phones dying aren't uncommon." There's just...been too few coincidences lately, Katie... * Kaede slumps against the wall. "Far too few..." I know, but don't panic. And don't make assumptions. * Kaede looks up, tightlipped at Katie, staring at her. * Kyon moves his cell phone to his ear, then just stabs the button to hang up. He rolls his shoulders, and looks at Kaede bemusedly. * Katie looks right back at him. "We don't know if she's hurt or not, Kaede, and we don't do anyone any favors by assuming she is. Can you dial her home number later tonight?" I'll...yeah, I'll do that. You're right, Katie. There are a lot of things that could have happened that have nothing at all to do with the Arcana, if you called her durning class, she might have just turned off her phone. Yeah, but usually she leaves her phone with someone else.. * Kaede takes a deep deep breath. It sounds heavier than normal, but he gets back up. * Kyon looks over the others quickly, and blows out a breath. "You want to worry, worry. Do it at the cafe, though." * Kaede looks over at Kyon. "You want to be helpful, be helpful." * Kaede walks over to follow Kyon though all the same. * Kyon smirks. "I am. By going to the cafe." He looks down at Katie. "You can explain there." He stalks off down the hall. * Katie shakes her head and goes to her locker, opening it to get her jacket. Fine. * Taki nods and waits for Katie. * Katie looks over at Taki and smiles weakly, then heads after the boys, pulling on her jacket as she goes. * Taki smiles back and heads to the cafe. [Time: 2:30 p.m. They get to the cafe! It's rather empty right now, with only one man there. He's about fourty years old, with bushy hair, a moustache and a beard.] * Kyon goes over to the counter, and looks quickly across a menu before ordering a maple coffee. * Worker brings Kyon a cup of coffee in no time. * Katie walks on over and orders some tea. * Taki looks up at the menue and tries to work out what she wants in a cup. * Worker brings Katie a cup of tea in no time. * Kaede orders coffee himself. Now that you notice, he looks like he really needs it. * Worker brings Kaede a cup of coffee in no time. * Kaede starts to drink it immediately, then winces, drawing back from slightly scalding his tongue. * Taki orders a cup of western style lemon tea. * Worker brings Taki a cup of screwy tea in no time. * Taki takes her tea and waits for it to cool a bit. * Katie takes her tea and has a seat at a table. She looks over at the others. * Kaede looks up from trying to cool his tongue and lets out a deep sigh. "It's too quiet here, it's too quiet at the school..it's too quiet everywhere.." * Katie sips her tea. "Yeah." * Kyon takes his coffee, sets it at the table, and heads back over to the counter. "Excuse me, but a friend of mine works here. Could you tell me if she's around?" Business tends to pick up around lunch, and around 3:00. I'm the only one here right now. I think quite is good, means I can drink my tea and relax untill hocky practice starts. * Kaede sets down his coffee cup and looks out the window. "Quiet's good if it's intentional.." * Kyon nods to the worker. "Her name's Kyoko... Kyoko Ozora. Will she be in later?" Ozora? She's on vacation. You should be able to catch her here next week, though. * Kaede absently listens to the conversation, sipping his coffee more slowly this time. * Kyon cocks his head. "Really? When is she supposed to be back?" He looks down, abashed. "We go to different schools now, so it can be hard to talk with her." She ought to be back by next Tuesday. * Taki nods and takes a sip of her tea. * Kyon nods again, and blinks. "Wait, but school's still in session for her. A vacation, that's pretty unusual." * Worker nods. "It is, but it's not my business to interfere." (Kyon showing surprise! ) * Taki shrugs, "I missed a week, but then I wasn't planning on that happening." Wonder if she said where she was going..somehow I doubt it.. * Kyon nods, and hesitates. "I don't want to burden you, but I'm a bit worried about her. She was supposed to meet me at a club a week and a half ago, and she hasn't called or emailed me since. Can you tell me if she's been in since then?" Hm? I don't think so. The last day she worked before leaving was... the 15th, I think. * Kyon nods, a concerned look on his face. "All right. Well, I guess I'll just come back on Tuesday, then." He smiles. "It's a nice place, here, anyway." I'm glad you think so. * Katie stays quiet and sips tea. Mmm, tea. * Kaede sips his coffee. It doesn't seem to be doing much for him though. * Kyon nods to the man, turns, and goes back to the table. His expression goes cool as he moves back over, and he sits down and takes his maple coffee. * Taki decides that the English tea isn't as strange as she thought it was. * Katie sets her tea down and comments, "So she went on vacation?" (It makes his eyes cross at the sweetness? That's usually true about Japanese coffee. =P) * Kyon nods tersely. "What he said. Started the day she stood us up at the club." Hmm... ::sips:: Something tells me she won't come back the same Tuesday... If she does come back... * Kyon shrugs quickly, and tastes the coffee. "Either way, I'll come to see." * Kaede tilts his head slightly. "You're concerned?" * Kyon smirks. "Said it before. Someone needs to look after her." * Kaede shakes his head. "You're a lousy liar sometimes, Kyon." * Kaede sips his coffee. * Katie eyes Kaede for a moment, then switches subjects, "About the drugs." * Kyon barks out a hard laugh, and shakes his head bemusedly. He looks down at Katie. "Yeah?" We talked to Saki about it some. She's taken down... oh, seven or eight dealers. She only ran across one special one, though, and we all know which one that is. * Taki nods. * Katie sighs and runs a hand through her hair. "She doesn't know how many sides there are to this, either. Or why." * Kaede blows softly on his coffee, looking casually over the rim towards the table. "She also doesn't think he's at the top. Couldn't really tell us why though.." It's not like me, trusting hunches and circumstances like this... * Kaede runs his fingers through his hair too. * Kyon takes another drink. "She counting the guy we took down before?" No. These are ones she's taken down. * Katie considers, then looks over at Kaede. "Can you do me a favor?" Yes? You're good with computers, right? I heard most newspapers are online now. * Kaede blows again on the coffee, seeming a bit distracted by it, but still answering. "What do you want me to look up?" * Taki takes a sip as she listens. Drug related articles. Really, the ones about the attacks. See if there's a pattern at all? The first'll be easier than the second. I figured. Want me to right now? * Katie nods. "If you can, sure." * Kaede reaches for his kaban, flipping the clips to get out his laptop. * Taki blinks. [Kaede's phone rings!] * Kaede stops and picks up the phone, blinking. "Hello?" * Kaede frowns a little. "We had some stuff to take care of...it took a little longer than expected.." * Kaede winces and sighs. "Alright, I understand." He hangs up the phone. "I've got to go." * Katie nods. "Okay. Try to look it up tonight, all right?" Of course. * Katie smiles. "Thanks." * Kaede takes off his jacket and dumps it on Katie's head before walking out of the cafe with his kaban. * Katie blinks. Goodbye Kaede. * Katie stands, jacket still on her head, and runs after Kaede. "Get back here, you!" [Session End]
