[Day and Time: Katie has no clue.] [Weather: Same here.] [Katie's hurt. She's lying down, clutching her side. Rubble lies all around. Rubble of what, she isn't sure.] [Mini Start!] * Katie winces, trying to push herself to her knees, and then possibly to her feet. She looks down at her side, grimacing at all the blood. [The big thing of jagged metal sticking out of it might be why.] [Suddenly, Katie hears a raven cry!] * Katie stares at it blankly for a moment, then reaches over and... stops, looking in the direction of the cry. [Katie sees a raven pearched on top of a corner of a ruined building.] * Katie blinks at it a couple times, then tries to pull the metal out of her side, using her other hand to staunch the bleeding. [Suddenly, she's not looking there anymore. Instead, she sees a somewhat attractive young woman dressed in a kimono, her hair done up in a bun held with chopsticks. It's someone she somehow realizes is very dear to her.] [The woman screams, "Mikari, ru- guu." Her cry is lost as a hand bursts through her chest from behind.] * Katie 's eyes widen, and she looks past the woman to the owner of the hand. [The woman falls as the hand withdraws; in an act of remarkable cruelty, taking her heart with it. Katie sees Saki Morikawa.] * Katie takes a step back, ignoring the intense pain the act causes. The beginnings of tears begin to swell in her eyes. "No. You can't do this..." * Saki is wearing a more western type of dress, although it's tattered and torn; she doesn't care. She's covered with blood literally from head to toe. Her eyes seem more pale than Katie's used to, and she's smiling a psychotic smile. She holds up the heart to eye level. * Saki shifts her gaze to Katie and grins wider. She starts forwards, crushing the heart as she does so, and tossing what's left to the ground. * Saki is suddenly there in front of Katie, so fast that the surprise itself causes her to lose her balance. * Katie watches the heart fall, almost involuntarily. "You- you're-" She screams as Saki's suddenly in front of her, scrambling back. * Saki smiles at Katie. "I'm the one who will live. Me! You monsters will never break me! Never!" She raises her hand to strike a killing blow, and suddenly Katie wakes up in her hospital bed. [It's disturbingly quiet, although Katie does hear the gentle pulse of Miho's heart meter, cars travelling some distance behind and, thanks to her hearing, crickets from who knows where chirping.] * Katie wakes up and wastes no time in screaming. [Is she ever! Pretty soon two nurses come in. As though they've been practicing this all night, one holds her down while the other pokes her with a syringe.] * Katie struggles against it, but is poked anyway, and ends up falling back into a drug-induced daze. ( Damn, you just ruined the rest of the session ;_; ) ( Just kidding :P ) (Oh, I did? :P) (It's okay, I'll sit and be drugged for a while. Oooh, pretty ponies.) [Katie drifts back off to sleep...] [Katie is in a room. It's white! Everything is white! There's no door!] * Katie looks around, eyes wide, and she starts screaming again. [Katie thinks she might hear voices!] * Katie somehow manages to quiet it into a sob and rushes to one of the walls, frantically trying to feel her way out. [There's no exit! But she can make out the voices!] [Satoshi's voice echoes around the room: "Why is there an egg in my pocket?!"] [Jin's voice follows: "I'm not sure."] [Satoshi responds: "Oh well, let's cook it!"] [Katie's room suddenly starts to heat up!] * Katie keeps one hand on the wall - maybe a door will appear somehow, and starts looking around for the sources of the talking. And then it heats up. "No. No no no! Satoshi!" * Katie bangs on the wall. Satoshi: "Did you hear something?" Jin: "I'm not sure." You did! Let me out! Let me out! [Katie's room suddenly rumbles, and she's tossed about.] [She hears Satoshi cry faintly, "No, Jin! Don't throw it out the window agai-!"] [Katie wakes up!] * Katie wakes up screaming *again*, if she can. If she's too drugged, well... this doesn't stop her from trying. [Katie's feelin' woozy, but she manages to make enough of a ruckus that the nurses come back in and resedate her.] * Katie nearly claws at one of the nurses that time, but ends up passed out again. [Katie is sitting in a chair. She's staring at the shiny shoes of a man right in front of her. She's unable to look up, because for some reason she's feeling incredibly guilty.] * Katie looks at the shoes, hands folded and head bowed. Wow, they're shiny. * Man grumbles fiercely. "How could you, Mikari? I don't know what's worse, that you like other girls, or that you got caught showing your affection in public! God, think of what this is going to do to our good family name." * Katie flinches and doesn't look up. "I'm... sorry." It sounds hollow, so she tries again. "I just don't see what's wrong with it. Love is love, right?" [That wasn't the right thing to say, as it earns Katie a slap across the face.] * Katie takes it and the nice mark that goes with it, resisting the urge to glare at the man. Love is finding the right man capable of taking care of you! Love is marrying into a good family! So, you're saying... Not that it matters now. You've pretty much just promised yourself to that teacher of yours in order to keep him quiet. * Katie rubs at her cheek, looking down again. "I don't need to go through with it." * Man slaps Katie again. "You will do as I say! You're in enough trouble already! God, what did I do to deserve a disobedient child like you? You're lucky I have a friend at the newspaper office, too. If anything goes wrong... Tch, everyone knows the Morikawa family are a stain on society. If anything goes wrong, I'll push the blame on them. They've got a daughter who will do for a scapegoat..." * Katie nearly falls off her chair this time. She stares away from him. "No." * Man suddenly bends down, or Katie looks up (she's not sure which), because she's looking him in the face, and it's a very sick looking face. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6) and gets 4. [Not only does the face look unhealthy, but it's not a man's face; it's Miho. What's more, Katie somehow manages to consciously grasp that she's not even asleep anymore.] * Man is now known as Miho * Katie stares, then tries to scramble to her feet and back, nearly knocking the chair over (if the chair's there). [Katie can't scramble, because she's lying on her back in the hospital bed.] * Miho slowly extends a hand and brushes Katie's face with her fingers. She tries to say something, but all that comes out is a raspy, "Kcthk" sound. * Katie snaps her head left, then right, and it fully dawns on her that not only is she awake, she's where she is, and... manages not to scream this time. Her breathing's heavy and panicked, though. "Miho? What- you?" [Nevertheless, the nurses rush in anyhow. This time, they grab ahold of Miho. "She came out of it!" One motions to another, "Call the doctor, quick."] [One nurse runs off, while the other carries Miho back to her bed and sticks her inside. She's moving her arms slowly, apparently not really noticing where they're going, but her face says she doesn't want to stay in the bed.] * Katie watches, starting to actually cry. She doesn't say anything, though. [Katie cries! But soon she forgets what exactly she was crying about. Oh, she remembers: She's standing outside of her friend's home. She wanted to talk to her, but her family refused to allow it, slamming the door in her face.] * Katie rubs at her eyes with the back of her hand, then takes a moment to look around. Hopefully nobody saw her. [There's only two people there, standing at the railing by the sea; they don't seem to see Katie. Oh, and Katie's friend's house was never by the sea, so it's not there anymore.] * Katie blinks, wiping away the rest of the tears, then walks closer to the railing and the people. [Anyhow, one man a very handsome, blue haired Catholic priest with an ornate scepter. The other is Satoshi, if Satoshi were thirty, fond of boulder hats, and didn't have a broken nose.] [They're talking!] * Katie opens her mouth to say something, then closes it, letting them talk. * Satoshi leans against the railing, staring out over the sea after a long while, he asks, "Are you saying you won't do it?" * Satoshi has his back turned to the priest, and isn't even looking over his shoulder at him. * Isao (yes, he's Isao) is looking at his back. "It just... doesn't seem right." The woman has killed many, not just Arcana. If the country weren't so focussed on the war, she'd be top news. Her very existance is a threat to everything our kind has ever stood for. * Isao shakes his head. "It isn't right. After what she's been through, we should be trying to help her, not destroy her." She's beyond help. You're a priest: Would your God really want her to continue living if her only motivation was to kill? God would not want her destroyed, he would want her redeemed. And furthermore, I've heard she's doing this for revenge, because of what the Council-. You're treading dangerous waters there, Queen. * Isao bites his tongue and looks down. His face is full of doubt, but he doesn't say anything. * Satoshi turns and starts to walk off. After he passes Isao, though, he stops, and says: "Whether the rumors you've heard are true or not, it's stopped being revenge a long time ago. She's killed humans, and she's killed us. She'll keep killing indescriminately until she is stopped." You still will not act? * Isao is just silent. When he recieves no answer, Satoshi continues on his way, "Then there's no choice but to do it myself." * Isao turns sharply. "You can't mean to Judge her! Everytime you do, it always ends up the same way!" * Satoshi looks back over his shoulder. "Tell your God that if he does not have the strength to face Death, then I will." [And Katie wakes up!] * Katie lets out a half-yelp, half-shriek and stares at the ceiling with wide eyes. She takes a moment to gather herself - or try - and turns her attention to Miho's bed. [Miho's bed is empty! What's furthermore, the sun is just starting to come up, a dull light being cast through the blinds of the window.] Miho? [No answer!] * Katie looks to the door, then the window. She starts to cry again; the fact that she can do so is probably an improvement. "" [As if to answer Katie's plea, the door opens!] * Katie starts and turns her attention to the door with wide eyes. A few more tears streak down her face. [In comes a nurse, walking backwards, while pulling a bed on wheels into the room. Another nurse pushes in from the other end. And in the bed itself is someone Katie recognizes: Remi Okui.] Remi? * Katie strains to see if she's awake. [Remi looks to have been sedated as much as Katie; her left arm is wrapped in bandages. The nurses lift her from the cot into the bed that once belonged to Miho.] [One of the nurses turns to Katie at that and smiles. "Oh, you're awake! Looks like you've got a new roommate. Isn't that nice?"] [Mini End]
