[Day: Wednsday, February 19th. Time: 6:00 p.m.] [Weather: Huge blizzard two days ago. since then it's been clear, but the snow hasn't cleared up yet. It's sunny, but chilly.] [After a fun day of school, kendo and arguing with Taro, Taro invited Katie to dinner. To argue some more. It's 6:00 p.m., and Katie arrives at the Sukiyaki restaurant, where Taro already is.] [Mini Start] * Katie walks in, taking a look around. She took the time to get out of that annoying (and cold) school uniform, and so is now wearing her usual casual clothes. * Taro waves Katie over to a table he's already been sitting at. He's changed too, and looks a bit more formal. But his dressing style is unimpressive so I'm not gonna bother to describe it. (Taro's so easy to handle that way. ^^) ( Yes :P ) * Katie spots him and has a seat at the table. And looks just about anywhere but at him. [Katie sees the chef happily serving sukiyaki to people. He looks familiar.] So... how've you been these past, uh, two hours? * Taro rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. * Katie would be more surprised at that, but... you know, she really isn't anymore. "Hmm? Oh, I've been doing okay." That's good... * Katie forces herself to turn her attention to Taro. * SukiyakiGuy comes over. "Hi every-bo-di!" What can I get you to-day? * Katie orders a small bowl of sukiyaki. She really isn't all that hungry. * Taro orders a bowl of plain sukiyaki. * SukiyakiGuy happily takes the orders and (in a little while) comes back with the food. * Katie picks at her sukiyaki. "So, how're you?" * Taro says "Not too bad." Although it's fairly obvious that that was almost an automated response. He adds, "I've been thinking a bit about what you said." Yeah? ( Not really :P ) (*snerk*) I guess I might have been wrong. I'm sorry. * Katie studies her food a little more. "Okay. Apology accepted." * Taro smiles. "Thanks." * Katie tries some of the sukiyaki. * Taro takes a few bites of Sukiyaki. "I still don't understand what's between you and Ken, though. I thought you hated him." Me and Ken? Well, I- I don't like him, but I don't really want to see him suffer. * Katie pauses at that. "Much," she adds. ... Oh. * Taro takes a few more bites. "So what did you think of kendo? * Katie smiles a little. "It's hard work." Do you like it? I felt so slow and... well, clueless, but I guess that's to be expected. * Katie considers. "It's okay. I don't mind it." That's good. * Taro eats a few more bites awkwardly. I think.... oh, I don't know. I was thinking about quitting before even my first practice, but I guess I'll stick with it. See if I like it more. * Taro looks up sharply. "Quit before your first practice? Why?" * Katie shrugs and looks back down at her meal. "Well, the main reason I joined was because of you." * Taro smiles a bit. "Oh." So, I... I don't really know what to do anymore. ( Play Kirby!... darn, not MC ;_; ) (If this were MC, all our problems would be solved!) Why not stick around? I'm sure you'd get to like it. I can help you practice. * Katie nods. "That's the current plan. And, um... maybe." * Taro smiles. * Katie smiles a little in response. So you're okay with this? * Taro nods. "Of course. If it makes you happy." * Katie blinks. "Really?" Her smile becomes more genuine. "Thanks." * Taro smiles wider and nods. * Katie goes back to eating. Food tastes better now. Joy! [Mini End]
