Arcana RPG Tarot Card resouce: http://www.ata-tarot.com/resource/cards/ *** These are the old rules used at the beginning of the game. They've been updated for current characters' convenince for upgrading their abilities, but new characters (if I ever need any) will likely use different rules, due to changes in circumstance. *** 25 CP 20 SP +5 CP that may ONLY be spent on "Special" Attributes. Use Occult/Horror Costs No more than 20 points in stats No Own Big Mecha No Sixth Sense other than Sense Field (see new attributes below) Precognition can only be taken at 2 points per level (the one where a character can choose to read his future). This can only be done through tarot readings. Kensei, Gunbunny, and Mechanical Genius Attributes are classified as Special in this game. -=General Description=- The PCs are all students at Sakuragaoka High School, in Tokyo, Japan. They are special individuals who each represent a card in the Tarot Deck. They are called Arcana. The Arcana have special abilities, granted through this bond. There is a general tendancy for their personalities to take on the characteristics of the cards they represent. But not always, or even often. All of the PCs will be Arcana; most of them will be minor cards. The only major Arcana available to PCs at this time are: Strength, Justice, Temperance, Star, and Sun. All of them must be discussed with the GM. -=New Attributes=- * Arcana Field - Universally available to all arcana. It costs either 5 or 6 CP per level. It cannot be taken as a sub-attribute of magic or an IoP. It costs 2 EP per minute to maintain. Regardless of any level, non-arcana can never enter the radius; they can only exit. At 5 CP per level, the field causes a general distortion in space, affecting an certain radius around the user. Inside the radius is like a different dimension; any damage done to surroundings will vanish once the field disappears. But not to living beings within the field, making it ideal for fighting, though also useful for conversations and such. Part of the magic is that when the occupants "return", those who were not in the field will notice nothing (including both arcana and non-arcana). At 6 CP per level, the field functions as above, except it only affects arcana; non-arcana within the radius at the time the field is created will not be part of the distortion. Level 1 - The field can only be summoned by an arcana when another is in the radius. Level 2 - The field can be summoned at any time. * Sense Field - 1 point. Allows an arcana to sense when they're within a field. -=Rule Changes=- 1. Precise Stroke/Dead Eye: A called shot to a vital spot on an opponent grants that opponent a -2 bonus to defend. A called shot to a non-vital spot grants a -1 bonus. The reason for this is because precise stroke and dead eye are more utility skills, and less combative. 2. Melee Defense: In this game, melee defense is NOT the ability to defend with a weapon, but is instead the ability to defend against a weapon. You can use melee defense without a weapon. This represents your knowledge of various fighting styles with melee weapons, and how best to defend against them. -=Setting=- The Date: January 18th, 2002 The Place: Tokyo, Japan. Over the past month, there's been a disturbing number of disappearances of highschool students in Tokyo. Two vanished from Sakuragaoka High, without any trace whatsoever. Another one from Seiryuu Girl's School and one from Tokugawa Academy, as well. Police have no idea why the suspects vanished; common theories are they ran away from home or were kidnapped, but the bottom line is they're just not sure. As a result, rumors float about the school's halls daily. -=Sakuragaoka Uniforms=- Female: White blouse, grey jacket, knee-length grey skirt. Male: Grey pants and jacket, white dress shirt.
