O, keepers of the crystal. The memories to the light shall flow, forgotten jewels that lose their glow. In time they shall return anew, to be gathered like drops of dew. Journey Forth! Seek the water of life. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles General game information: System: 3.5e DnD modified rules (d20) If you do not have copy to the base rules (the System Reference Document or SRD) you can download it at: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35 If you're lazy or can't download it, you can also view it online at: http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/home.html Setting: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. I am currently releasing more information, although you should be able to make a character easily enough. If you want to know about something, ASK me. Character Generation: We are using 38 points using the typical point-buy system. This means each character starts with all stats at eight, and can use one or more points to raise a stat by one. The costs are... 9-14 are 1 point each. 15-16 are 2 points each, and 17-18 are 3 points each. Keep in mind that these costs are applied *before* racial modifiers come into play. Characters will start with 200 gil to purchase equipment, 100 extra gil spending money (this can not be spent at character generation), and a special bonus based on their family's profession. See the 'Family' file in the background information for more info on this. These items are initially bought at the standard fare in the PHB. 1 gil = 1 gp. A character must be of the following race: Clavat, Liltie, Selkie, Yuke, or Moogle. It is strongly advised that you have a diverse group, as each race has their own talents and weaknesses. The characters should have an age during their mid teens (13-17 human standard). http://besm.sandwich.net/FFCC/background/Races.txt Characters must start as one of the following classes: Fighter, Expert, and Spellcaster. There will be typically no multiclassing to speak of. Any multiclassing done will be done on my terms, and definitely with severe restrictions. Characters must pick a family trade and a 'sense' at level 1. This decision is final and cannot be changed later on. Concentration is *the* most important skill you can have in this game. And thusly, I cannot emphasize how important it will be for you to have it. So keep it maxed in rank. All characters should be submitted with 5 things: 1) A character sheet detailing the mechanics of the character. Use this template: http://besm.sandwich.net/FFCC/other/Character%20sheet%20template%20-%20full.txt 2) Appearance: Placing this apart from the others will make it easier on me to write responses to your character based on appearance. 3) Personality: Your character must have something of a personality. I can guarantee that the stoic bishi "... whatever" characters are not going to fare too well. Especially given the character ages. 4) Background: Yes, you should have a background. It should cover your family, a brief history on your character, and their general relation to the town. 5) In-Character Application: This is an application *to* be a Caravaner. Whatever the motivation, all characters will require this application to see the council later. http://besm.sandwich.net/FFCC/other/Application.txt Once they have submission an application, your character will have the opportunity to be interviewed by the council ( http://besm.sandwich.net/FFCC/background/Council.txt ), which will then determine who gets to go on the caravan. This is to prevent the caravan from, you know, KILLING itself or being incompetent. Coincidentally (or maybe not so) this also gives people a rough intro session for their characters to get their personalities down. Once accepted as a caravaner, the new adventurers will receive an advanced crash course in their area of choice (i.e. you get to learn how to be a fighter/expert/spellcaster/whatev). The caravan will be supplied with enough basic necessities to survive the 4-6 months it is going to be out. However, basic necessities may not cover your character's preferences for food, accommodations, or clothing. Most clothing your character is assumed to have, unless they have an exceptionally large wardrobe, or special materials and valuable jewelry, in which case it may cost extra or not be available. Basic necessities would include black ink (for writing in the journal), rations, a wagon & mount for the wagon, clothing (as stated), blankets & bedrolls, a hooded lantern, and a gallon of oil, and parchment for the mail moogle. Send characters to zegond@gmail.com or find me online and DCC them to me. I do *not* want a web address. Character sheets should use the format given (Please, I don't want to try and figure out someone else's). On that note, plain text only. The name of the file should be - .txt, and be from 80 to 100 characters across with line breaks. The application should also be sent in, under the name app.txt. I must have the mechanics sheet before I consider the application. Characters are due at 12:00 AM, September 27th, 2004.
