Blacksmithing Blacksmithing is the art of creating magic arms, armor, and metal goods, as well as Metallurgy which is required for some other crafts. Higher quality materials offer more powerful boosts in protection and damage capability, and the most unique item recipies are for this area. The skills used for this craft are Craft (Blacksmithing) and Knowledge (Metallurgy). To craft a 'basic' weapon or armor of a particular material, it takes a certain amount - Bigger weapons take more, of course. 1x metal is required for light weapons 1x is required for 1h weapons and light armor 2x is required for 2h weapons and medium armor 3x is required for heavy armor This means, that with the material required for one suit of full plate, you could craft three daggers of the same material. If used to make munitions, one block of a particular ore will produce enough for 50 shots. The market price in extra materials for the armor is the enhancement bonus squared x 500 gil. The market price in extra materials for weapons is the enhancement bonus squared x 1000 gil. For materials without an enhancement bonus, or a penalty, there is no extra cost. The DC to craft a weapon or armor of a material is 15 + enhancement bonus x 3. It is advised that an alchemist be on-hand when a weapon is completed to bond a piece of magicite to it. A small material progression is listed below. Weapons made of a material of Mythril or higher have magicite that attunes on use. This means that the magicite for that weapon will not be able to be used by anyone else. Bronze -> Iron -> Steel -> Cold Iron -> Mythril -> Adamantine -> -2 -> -1 -> 0 -> +1 -> +2 -> +3 ->
