Tailoring Tailoring is the craft of making clothing, leather and cloth armor, leather goods, and shoes. Most of these are handled by Tailors, except shoes, which are handled by Crafters because of they are of a different nature than clothing. The skills used for this craft are Craft (Tailoring) and Profession (Cobbler). Most clothing is easily created: as long as you have a rank of skill you can probably make and repair normal clothing just fine. Advanced recepies, however, will require substantially more skill. A small cloth qualtiy progression is listed below. These numbers relate to both protection and mystic properties the cloth has when augmented. Clothing normally requires some kind of modification to actually provide protection, however. Patchwork -> Wool -> Linen -> Silk -> Cashmire -> Velvet -> Golden -> -1 -> 0 -> 1 -> 1.5 -> 2 -> 2.5 -> 3 -> Patchwork -> Leather -> Dire Leather -> Bone -> Shell -> -1 -> 0 -> +1 -> +2 -> +3 -> Remember that larger suits of armor require more materials. Also, leather and dire leather cannot be used to craft any metal types of armor. 1x is required for light armor 2x is required for medium armor 3x is required for heavy armor The market price in extra materials for the armor is the enhancement bonus squared x 300 gil. For materials without an enhancement bonus, or a penalty, there is no extra cost. The DC to craft armor of a material is 15 + enhancement bonus x 3.
