[Warning, incoming game. Warning, incoming game.] [Date: Thursday, Ramuh 19th, 1360. Time: Evening.] [The rain hasn't let up, making travel outside a little uncomfortable. But not for Harmony! She's braving the weather to do, um something! Yeah! We're near the middle of town, close to the crystal in fact. It shines in the distance, beckoning Harmony to come closer... As well as the odd Yuke who is staring at the crystal. Let's see what becomes of this, shall we?] [Session Start!] * Harmony peeks around from behind a building. She's wearing a cloak over her usual clothes. * Xanithern stares up at the top of the crystal, underneath an awning of a nearby building. He does have a cloak over his shoulders as well but it doesn't cover his helmet. Of course, since it's a head covering already, the rain probably doesn't bother him as much. * Harmony slowly approaches. She hesitates a bit, and looks like she's considering backing away, but she goes forward anyhow. [The main crystal that protects Sanriem is an impressive sight in the least. The mystical energies that cause it to glow also seem to make a calming aura around it, making it an excellent place for celebrations. In particular the annual festival that occurs every year when the caravaners return from their journeys. The crystal itself is at least three stories tall, and a good twenty- five feet across.] * Xanithern turns his head slowly at the splashing of puddles, staring at the approaching Harmony. He doesn't say a word but, well, how is that unusual? [An idle, soft chime constantly is emitted from the crystal, which may also lead to its calming nature.] * Harmony stops where she is, standing awkwardly and almost paralyzed. * Xanithern keeps staring for a little while at Harmony, then takes his attention off her to look back at the crystal. * Harmony brings her fingers to her chin and looks back worriedly, contemplating escape. Instead, she walks all the way up to Xani. ( Tag! You're it! *runs away giggling* ...) * Xanithern has a note apparently ready for her, probably written while she was trying to escape. ~Do you like it?~ He's still looking at the crystal, not Harmony. * Harmony blinks, totally taken off guard. "W-what?" * Xanithern taps his finger on the board, glancing at her for a moment before staring at the crystal. * Harmony looks confusedly at the crystal. "Uh... I-I guess?" * Xanithern sighs and puts his board away. He turns to look Harmony over, staring at her solidly and most of all silently. * Harmony shivers. * Harmony looks to the side. "I-I came looking f-for you, you know..." * Xanithern contemplates that for a moment. A long moment. Then finally writes down, ~I do?~ * Harmony reads that and gets even more confused. "I'm sorry. I d-don't, um, don't know what you're t-t-trying to say." * Xanithern looks at her, then at the board, then at her again. He erases it with his glove and writes longer this time. ~You said that I know you were coming to look for me. I was not aware that I was in possession of that knowledge.~ * Harmony stops. "Oh. I m-meant that... Um..." * Xanithern shrugs and turns back to look at the crystal, his hand reaching into his clothing at torso height. When it comes out, he withdraws an orange and holds it out for Harmony without looking. * Harmony blinkblinks. She takes the orange. "Um... Th-Thank you." ( Harmony is weak to fruit ; ; ) [If Xanithern heard the thank you, he doesn't acknowledge it.] * Harmony looks down at the orange. "You're, um... You're kind of er... well, scary." * Xanithern turns to give her a stare. A solid, steady, unmoving look. * Harmony winces and turns her head away. "Y-Yesterday, when I c-came to the diner with D-Dorn... I wanted to leave b-because, um, you were there." * Xanithern keeps looking at her. Whether what she said has any affect or not is anyone's guess. * Harmony shuts her eyes. "B-But..." She takes a deep breath. "There's going to be, um... a lot worse on the c-caravan. S-So...." * Harmony turns her head to Xani, and her eyes snap open. "I've got to prove to myself I can do this." * Xanithern writes out something on his pad and then doesn't stare so intensely but does show her the writing. ~Why did you join the caravan in the first place?~ * Harmony stares at Xanithern. * Harmony doesn't look at it. She keeps her eyes on Xanithern's helmet's visor. * Xanithern raises the chalkboard so that it's interposed between Harmony and his visor. * Harmony lowers it, keeping her stare. But she does answer: "I have a lot of reasons." She's not exactly glaring at Xani, but certainly looks determined. * Xanithern looks down, actually away from Harmony to write something else. When he raises his head, the chalkboard is interposed again. ~I will be far from the scariest person you meet.~ * Harmony lowers it. Her gaze hasn't flinched. "I know that." * Xanithern puts his chalkboard away and reaches for his own fruit, looking at the crystal again. He jams a knife in and then starts to peel it. It looks a little hard with the gloves but he does it. ( He's peeling the crystal? :P ) (in the fruit :P) * Harmony stares at Xanithern. It'd be a little unnerving, if he knew Harmony at all. But since he doesn't probably not. * Xanithern eyes that and the takes his chalkboard again, writing a note on the other side. ~What are you looking for anyway?~ He then takes a bite of orange. From somewhere behind the helmet. To prove that I can do it. * Harmony staaaaares at Xanithern. ~Why can't you?~ * Xanithern then tilts his head to look at her, then looks away for a second to add: ~Do you feel better?~ * Harmony doesn't know how to answer that. So she doesn't. Instead, she asks, "Can you talk?" * Xanithern tilts his head again to look at her and then writes, ~I am communicating with you right now.~ But you're not talking. ~In the traditional sense, I suppose not.~ Can you? * Xanithern's shoulders heft a little and a faint breath of air comes out from his helmet. It sounds like a mild sigh. * Harmony keeps her stare, regardless. * Xanithern finally writes, ~Enough that I can articulate arcane mantras, I suppose....~ So you can talk. But you don't. Why? * Xanithern sets down the board and glances at Harmony, giving a few gestures in Yuke Sign just to see if she knows it. * Harmony doesn't respond to it. * Xanithern shakes his head and holds up a finger as he looks at her. * Harmony may notice, but she's only staring at one spot. * Xanithern gets out his chalkboard again and writes down. ~I never said that. In the traditional sense.~ * Harmony waits for him to elaborate. * Xanithern just looks back at Harmony. * Harmony looks back at Xani too! (They were made for eachother.) (Harmony and Xani, OTP!) * Xanithern just shakes his head and tightens his cloak, turning to leave. * Harmony smiles to herself. She looks up to the sky as she pulls out a knife and peels the orange. "Um... I do feel better." Th-Thank you. * Xanithern doesn't respond. He just keeps going! [Session End!]
