[Day: Tuesday. Time: 9:00 A.M.] [Mei is at Chel's place.] [Session Start] * Mei-Yin shakes Chelsea awake. * Chelsea is shaken. "Mwuh-huh? Cudditout." Wake up, Chel. Nuh. Dunwannawaygup. Chel, I need your help. * Chelsea rolls over, and blinks her eyes blearily at Mei-Yin. She speaks, and is coherent for the first time today. "My help. Sure. Okay... why are you in my room?" Because I didn't want to wake anybody else up. * Chelsea blinks again. "Oh. So, why am I the lucky one?" She yawns and stretches to punctuate this question. Because you can fight, and you're smarter than Eoi. * Chelsea snickers at that. "Both valid points. So. What's up?" I... I need you to fight me. I need to see what I can do. What the sword can do. * Chelsea mulls that over briefly, then shrugs her shoulders and rolls over again, bringing her face-down on the edge of her bed. She reaches under, fumbles with one hand, and comes up with a sheathed rapier -- clearly not the rapier from hell, tho. "Okay. But in return you must cook me breakfast. Not necessarily now, tho." * Mei-Yin smiles. "No problem." I was going to cook for everybody, actually. * Chelsea smirks. "Well, that'll do, too." * Kirby walks into the room! * Chelsea swivles into a sitting position and then stands up. She stretches again. * Mei-Yin blinks. * Chelsea looks at Kirby. * Kirby swivels around on his feet, looking about the room. He says in a very Kirbyish voice, "Scanning area." * Kirby places his gaze on Chelsea. "Target acquired." * Kirby walks up to Chelsea. "Hiiiiii!" * Chelsea reaches back under her bed, and *does* come up with the rapier from hell this time. * Mei-Yin gets the hell away from the kirby. * Kirby waves. "Hiiiiii!" * Mei-Yin blinks. * Kirby does it again. "Hiiiii!" * Mei-Yin leans down and plucks something off the back of the kirby. * Mei-Yin reads the note. * Chelsea frowns, and waits. * Kirby waves again. "Hiiiiiii!" "Chelsea, my love! Come to the parking lot next to the Asahara third branch office tonight! There's something you need to know." -RG "P.S. Enjoy the Kirby! It's a new brand!" * Kirby waves again. "Hiiiiiii!" Mmmhmm. I believe today will suck. I feel it in my bones. * Chelsea waves back. "Hello." * Mei-Yin leans down to the Kirby. "What kind of Kirby are you?" * Kirby ignores Mei-Yin, preferring to respond to Chelsea. He waves. "Hiiiiii!" * Chelsea sets her swords on the bed, reaches down, and picks up the Kirby. She rubs it's head and then looks for an off-switch. * Kirby has an off switch in back. * Chelsea utilizes the off switch to turn the Kirby off. She then places him on the nightstand. * Kirby pouts as Chelsea flicks the switch. "Target lost" ;_; * Kirby is then silent. * Chelsea pats the Kirby reassuringly. * Kirby doesn't respond. He's off. :P * Chelsea walks over to a door on the side of the room, opens it, and walks in. "Lemme get some more clothes on, alright?" Okay. * Chelsea ruffles around, and comes out wearing a white tank-top, baggy black sweatpants, and a pair of odd dance shoes. She gets the rapier not from hell from her bed. "Okay, I think I'm ready." She yawns again. Do you have um... a practice room or something? The main room is the practice room, usually. Ah. Okay. * Mei-Yin walks back out to the main room, picking up her sword from the coffee table as she goes past. * Chelsea walks in and walks over to Mei. * Mei-Yin turns towards Chelsea and tries to imitate a stance from before she went crazy. She fails miserably. Chelsea could probably slaughter her easily. * Chelsea speaks quietly. "Since there are people sleeping in here, tho, we can use the roof." Ah... okay. ^_^; * Mei-Yin straightens up. * Chelsea grins. "This way." * Mei-Yin follows Chelsea. You have shoes on, right? * Mei-Yin looks down at her feet, which are in relatively sturdy slippers. These do? Mmm. Might wanna get some shoe shoes on, just in case. We'll be doing some climbing to get to the roof, and it can get pretty hot once the day warms. * Mei-Yin walks over to the front door and slips on her shoes. * Mei-Yin follows Chelsea up to the roof, yes she does. * Chelsea leads through the painting area, through a door, outside, and up a metal ladder to the roof. * Chelsea helps Mei up the last bit of the way. "Careful now." It's no problem. I can do it. * Mei-Yin does it. Barely. ( The roof is mostly flat surface. There is one wrought-iron table with umbrella off to one side, as well as a prominent satelite dish in one corner, and what is problably the air conditioner in another corner. ) ( There is an area in the center painted in white; a circle within a square. ) * Mei-Yin walks to the circle type thing and takes up the same awkward not-quite-a-stance. I... it looks the same, but it doesn't feel right. * Chelsea walks over to one corner of the circle and unsheathes her rapier, having belted the scabbard on. "I'm not sure why that'd be, although I could hazard some guesses. We'll find out, I think." * Mei-Yin looks at Chelsea's scabbard. * Chelsea gestures aimlessly with her sword. "And don't worrt, this sword's dulled. It might leave a welt if I get a hit, but nothing more than that. And I'll try to go easy anyway." I need to get one of those. * Chelsea nods. "I know a guy who can make you one. I'll cover it if you need." Thanks. ^_^ Ready? Of course. On your guard, now. I'm as on guard as I can be... Let's go. * Mei-Yin lunges at Chelsea with an overhead slash. * Mei-Yin badly misjudges the distance and nearly falls on her face. Shit! * Chelsea blinks. "Uhm. You alright? Want some time to stretch or something first?" No, no. I'm fine. I just need to practice. Really. Yes. Yes you do. I'm willing to train you some, if you like. My style isn't much suited to katanas, but it'd be something. I... I'm trying to do what I did before. I liked that. It was... original. * Mei-Yin looks down at the sword in her hands. I suppose you don't change shape anymore, though. * Mei-Yin sets herself to recieve Chelsea's attack. * Chelsea nods. "I think I understand." Well, come on! * Chelsea shrugs and come at Mei with a fairly simple attack from the side. * Mei-Yin brings her katana up to defend and raises it too high, the rapier passing totally underneath her arms to smack against her ribs. OOF! * Chelsea sympathy-winces. * Mei-Yin brings down her own sword at Chelsea, ignoring the hit she just took. * Mei-Yin _almost_ hits, but slices too far to her side of Chelsea. * Mei-Yin looks down at the sword sadly. * Chelsea frowns. "Maybe I should get a training dummy and some padded clothes..." It didn't change... Maybe it can't change anymore. But if it feels odd like you said, there's certainly something to it. Unless what you find odd is the lack of what was there before. It... it's not as fast... it's heavier, and it doesn't change. I... I don't think it's got any power left at all. * Mei-Yin lets the sword drop from her fingers as she slides to the ground. [The sword falls and gets stuck in the roof.] * Mei-Yin buries her face in her hands and cries. * Chelsea frowns, sheathes her sword, and goes to try to comfort Mei. * Chelsea pats Mei's shoulder awkwardly. Clearly she's no good at this comforting thing. "Look at the sword, Mei." W-what? ;_; * Mei-Yin looks up. Look at the sword and tell me what it's doing. What's so good about it? It's just a sword now, and I'm nothing without its power. * Mei-Yin blinks away some tears and turns to look at the sword. ...what about it? The sword cut the concrete of my roof with nothing but it's own weight. Wha? * Mei-Yin blinks away more tears. Conventionally, that doesn't happen. Usually, swords cutting concrete with a creat deal of force behind them doesn't happen. I can prove it if you need me to. It... You mean... It's still got something?! Evidently, yes. * Mei-Yin jumps to her feet and pulls the sword out of the roof. * Chelsea smirks. "Careful there. It's sharp." What else can you do?! You've got to show me! Try 'please'. PLEASE!? * Chelsea says that with a completely straight face. Mei. A sharp sword is all you need. You can learn to use it, and maybe even get as good with it as you were before. Although that will require some considerable work. Fine! Work! I can work! * Chelsea looks concerned. "Of course. Oh, and... if the sword is that sharp, you may want to buy something else to practice with." * Mei-Yin looks down at it. * Mei-Yin furrows her brow. I... need to work with this one. Maybe it'll show me its power. I'm afraid I must insist. For the safety of your sparring partner, yes? I doubt I could hurt you if I tried. I'm that bad. * Chelsea sighs. "Alright." She smirks. "But if you cut off my arm, I'm going to be very angry at you." I'll try not to. At least, unless you start putting the moves on Shigeru. * Chelsea holds herself in a defensive position. "Make another try, then." * Mei-Yin takes up that same bad stance again, facing Chelsea. * Mei-Yin rushes forward and falls flat on her face, almost impaling herself. AUGH! Are you alright? * Mei-Yin punches the ground. * Chelsea jogs over to Mei to check on her, and help her up if needed. I'm fine. * Mei-Yin pushes herself to her feet. * Mei-Yin has several scrapes on her face and hands now. * Mei-Yin picks her sword up again and sets herself. * Chelsea frowns worriedly, and sets herself in a defensive stance again. "Again." * Mei-Yin manages not to trip over herself as she runs at Chelsea again, but her swipe isn't very good, or even very close. * Mei-Yin has horribly bad form, for _any_ weapon. * Chelsea frowns. "Okay." * Chelsea looks at her shadow. (What time is it?) [Time: 9:30 A.M.] * Chelsea rubs her face. "Well." I... need a lot of work. ( Actually, more like 9:20 ) * Chelsea nods. "Yes, you do. I'm willing to help." She smirks. "Although I may demand cooking lessons as payment. That's the field where *I* am inept." Well, if you can teach me swordsmanship, I'm fairly sure I can teach you to cook. Cooking is easy, after all. And your life isn't at stakke. You say that because you haven't tasted my cooking. * Mei-Yin giggles. Have you switched anybody's minds yet? * Chelsea frowns. "I beg your pardon?" * Mei-Yin smiles. Utena. Mind-switching curry. Don't worry about it. * Chelsea chuckles. "Alright, I won't." * Mei-Yin sets herself again. Ready? I think we should try something else first, Mei. Huh? You've heard of shadow-boxing, right? Yeah, I think so. Alright. It works with swordplay, too. * Mei-Yin looks puzzled. The basic idea is you set up a surface so that your shadow displays on it, and you try to 'cut' it, while at the same time trying to dodge or parry the cuts it makes at you. Which is really just it mimicking what you do, but you get the idea, I think. Er... Not really. ...oh. I mean... wouldn't it work better with say... my shadow fighting your shadow? I don't really know how I'd dodge my own shadow. Well, it can be tricky. Well, unless you've got some sort of spell that makes my shadow real or something. * Chelsea frowns. "That... wouldn't be a good idea." I bet. I actually tried... but nevermind. * Mei-Yin swipes her sword around, watching her shadow as it mirrors her on the concrete. But yes, I think your idea may work. The sun's about right at this time, anyway. * Chelsea sets herself up so that her shadow is opposing Mei's shadow, while keeping herself as far out of the real Mei's reach as possible. * Mei-Yin jabs lightly towards Chelsea, watching how her shadow reacts. * Mei-Yin lunges forward, sending the shadow-sword at Chelsea's. * Mei-Yin stops about a foot short. * Chelsea watches the shadow. "Close. Try again." * Mei-Yin lunges forward again, imitating the way Chelsea does it. * Mei-Yin actually touches her shadow-sword to Chelsea's shadow this time. Like that! right? * Chelsea smiles. "Yes. Much better, Mei. Keep at it for a bit; I'll stand here like a good target. When you think you're ready, I'll start defending my shadow." * Mei-Yin lunges a few more times, and then moves on to slashes, frowning at the awkward way they translate to the shadow. * Chelsea nods. "Good. A little more." [Target of operation achieved. System switched to normal mode.]
