* Chelsea gets to the rooftop, and unsheathes her training rapier, holding her casting dagger in her other hand. * Mei-Yin is already waiting in the circle. * Chelsea waves the dagger. "My magic shield." She moves into the circle. "Alright. Come at me." * Mei-Yin rushes Chelsea, not bothering to go into a stance first, attacking wildly. * Mei-Yin misses horribly and calms down a little. Okay, okay. Calm down and remember. * Mei-Yin starts attacking with long, sweeping blows from side to side, as swiftly as she can manage. Calmly this time. Think about what you're doing... better. Keep at it. Grrrrr... * Mei-Yin starts to get angry, but keeps attacking with those long, simple slashes. * Chelsea parries the attack. "Excellent. Now again." * Mei-Yin growls a little louder as her attack is blocked effortlessly. * Mei-Yin swings around, pivoting on one foot as she reverses the blade so that she comes closer still to Chelsea. You're getting ahead of yourself, Mei. * Mei-Yin growls incoherently. * Mei-Yin swings again, less controlled this time. * Chelsea carefully controlls her expression and steps to the side. "Calmly. You're letting your frustration get the better of you." RAGH! * Mei-Yin spins, bring her blade around again. Precicely. * Mei-Yin has abandoned any pretense at holding back or defending herself. * Mei-Yin stops herself from spinning, barely, and launches herself towards Chelsea again. * Chelsea sighs inwardly and decides to just see if it does any good before telling Mei to cut it out. * Mei-Yin still couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. * Mei-Yin falls to her knees. * Mei-Yin pants, exhausted. Alright. Take a breather. No *pant* time. * Mei-Yin pushes herself to her feet. No. We can spare a few seconds. Think about what you just did and describe it to me. I tried to do what I used to, dammit. I wanted to get angry, and I did. * Chelsea shakes her head. You need to remember that you can't do that now. Not yet. Fine. What do I need to do? Trying futilely to hit you isn't doing anything but make me angry. Very well. Keep the anger inside, tho. It's more useful that way. Now. Come at me again. Focus on what you're doing. * Mei-Yin drops into a crouch, blade held before her. Until you can feel your way through a fight, you have to think about what you're doing. So. Fine. Think about what I'm doing. Now. Attack me. * Mei-Yin concentrates for a moment, and then starts moving slowly toward Chelsea. * Chelsea maintains a blank expression. * Mei-Yin keeps advancing until she comes almost within an arm's reach of Chelsea and then bring her sword across and out. * Mei-Yin brings the blade back across without reversing it. What the hell happened to my ability to judge distance? It should be better than this. It could be because you're used to having a sword that can extend itself to hit a far-away target. * Mei-Yin spins on one foot with the blade extended outward. * Mei-Yin stops and lunges at Chelsea. Grah! Again. * Mei-Yin runs at Chel again, sword held at her waist where it would be if it were sheathed. * Mei-Yin skids to a stop near Chel and whips the sword around as if she were drawing it and striking in one motion. Gods, I've never felt so worthless in my life! You are *NOT* worthless. Attack me again! * Mei-Yin advances again, swiping repeatedly in a rough X motion. * Mei-Yin stops mid-assault. * Chelsea backs up from the attacks, blinks at something, and shakes her head.
