Mystery Club 2 Plot Guide By Ardweden "Accurate" through session 64 I didn't work very hard on this. It's almost entirely from memory, and after so many sessions, that can be disastrous. If anyone comes up with anything I missed or is false, please let me know. That said, onward! Current Arcs: -Heaven Sent- Dracula's risen and Lucifer's looking for a foothold. They're pooling their resources to make this world a Hell on Earth, and only the Mystery Club (sorry, Interpol SIU: Japan Branch) can stop them. To make things even more fun, according to the Angel-In-Training Kaene, Heaven's counting on them to do just that. No pressure. Really. -Mr. E's Mystery- Mr. E and his crew (Virgil, Puppet Girl, Katana Guy, and Ambition-possessed Katsu at one point) have lain low recently, but they're still at large. Among other things, they were involved with Ambition getting ahold of a Rosetta stone that sucks and destroys spirit life, and they opened a portal to the demon world before, stepping through. They're most likely involved with Ambition, which puts them in the same group as Dracula and Lucifer. -The Lesser of Two Evils- Anyone would agree that Asahara's many shades of nasty. But according to Lin Kar Lau, director of human resources at Asahara, they saw to it that a number of those in Mystery Club would live to this point (and in some cases created), join Interpol, and become a force they can exploit. He claims he can help solve a multitude of their problems if they agree to cooperate, but Mystery Club turned him down. About the only good thing that may be said for Asahara is they were a threat to Lucifer and Dracula, though that may not be true anymore. -If You Dream It, It Will Come- Chie's had an interesting time concerning her powers, in that she apparently has more than she ever thought she did, but she can't access it. Mr. E seems set on making sure she won't; he sent Ambition-Possessed Katsu to kill her at one point, though she was saved by Nea. Later, she had a dream where she gleaned that there was some truth to that statement - she could cause real trouble if she realized her full potential. The question is, then, how? And what does choosing knowledge over power mean? -Ambition's Ambition- Ambition - a cursed sword that possessed Rei's stepmother and Mystery Club member, Mei-Yin, twenty years ago - has sadly never been destroyed, and now it's causing trouble all over again. Somehow, it's found a way to be held and possess the subject without him/her even realizing he/she's picking it up. As such, it's possessed a sizeable list of dangerous subjects: Katsu Ueda, An Unknown Woman, Shigeru Ueda, and now Victoria Taltos. To make things even worse, it's a disciple of Dracula, going so far as to refer to him as "master". -Where, Oh Where, Have The Belmonts Gone?- There's been one family that's kept Dracula in check for ages: the Belmonts. The only problem is, nobody knows where the last Belmont is. He doesn't need to kill Dracula, but Mystery Club could sure use his advice in doing so! Interpol: SIU is looking into it right now, and they have Chie's number. -The Chosen Ones- One of Dracula's major planned stops is a city full of people like Maria and Ensof. Well, not exactly, but they are their race. According to Ensof, they consider themselves to be "chosen ones", and aren't above culling their own (those without golden eyes) to make sure it stays that way. Unfortunately, they're also very powerful, and Dracula has expressed interest in using them as allies. Mystery Club's aiming to convince them to ignore or help stop Dracula, but common sense in pretentious snobs is so hard to find these days. -Delivery Quest- In order to get the nectar of the gods and cure Chie of vampirism, the Mystery Club had to promise to deliver a letter for Hermes. The recipient is Virgil, of all people. There's no real time limit, but nobody's to read it but Virgil, who has to before he ups and decides to die. Rei's currently carrying the letter. -The Lame Is Strong With This One- Chomei's got two tiny problems. One is that he's Taltos, and thus is slowly turning into a Logrus-clan demon. This, among other things, means he'll have a hard time accessing the mortal world. The other is he only possesses half a soul, as Kuro, his twin brother and employee of Asahara, has the other half. Once one of them dies, the other will have a whole soul and a fully powered Rownal - Chomei's bow and Kuro's scythe - but then what? One thing's for certain: he'll be as lame as ever. -The Killer- One of the nastier villains Mystery Club is against is one they've never seen: a serial killer specifically after Maria. He killed her foster parents when she was younger, and he's gunning for her. The fact that he has Mystery Club's number and can tell who's going to pick up before they even speak doesn't help. He enjoys killing his victims in extremely ugly ways, and somehow has access to and the ability to train supernatural monsters. Rei sacrificed a woman's life to track him down; he fled the scene but left it pretty much as-is, and there's a team of specialists looking into it now. They have Rei's number. -Fist of God- Lazar was put into golem form long ago to avenge the destruction of his people. Now he has all the runes, and time's pushing the team to destroy Dracula. It's said that all golems who succeed in their mission become inactive afterwards; their duty is done. If Lazar manages it, what's to become of him? -Eye Spy- Makoto's been unknowingly under Asahara's control his entire life and was planted in Mystery Club as a spy. Now that Lin's let that cat out of the bag, he's vanished without a trace. Did Asahara call him in, or did he flee? And how do you track a doppelganger down? -Vampiric Panic- The last time Kaira was seen, she was hungry enough to infect Chie with vampirism. She fled soon afterwards, claiming she had to leave for Rei's sake. Something's happening in Vampire-Smorfy-Rei-Kairaville, but what? It's been suggested that Shigeru and Eoi take a trip to Japan to find out, as they're two of the only humans Kaira may be able to trust, but China is a handful. -Remote Control Hostage- Rei's new body doesn't come without a price; with a combination of magic and genetic manipulation, Kuro can generate extremely high levels of toxins in her bloodstream on command, causing her serious pain and potentially killing her. Norii cooked up an enzyme that should stop it (though not without possibly serious side effects), but why would Kuro want to do something like that? According to Lin, Asahara never gave permission for that move. -Clone Wars- It's no secret that Asahara has cloning technology. They've done it for Shigeru, Rei, and apparently Dimitri of Asahara fame. Speaking of which, what's up with Dimitri? He's been "dead" for some time now - both his real self and his clone - but why did the Russian man in another trouble-solving, demon- smashing group in Tokyo seem so much like him? He certainly knew him, but he isn't saying why or where.
