[Day: Monday, Nov. 3rd, 2081. Tme: 2:45 p.m.] [When we last left Keiko and Hotaru, they were on a mission from God. Or at least from Gertrude. Their objective in this simulation was to sneak into the mannor of a corporate elite and snatch some top secret documents that prove his ties to terrorists.] [Things got a little out of hand, though, and now we currently have Hotaru trapped in a dining room with two (wounded) men trying to get at her. Keiko is upstairs facing an unhurt guard outside the room where the documents are.] [Keiko's got a man under mind control at the bottom of the stairs. His instructions are to help Hotaru, but he doesn't seem to know where she is. And Hotaru's tank is also being attacked by a guard. Speaking of, it was damaged last session. Now I gotta figure out stats for it >.>] ( How big is that tank? ) (I'd take the tank stats and divide by 5 It's bit under a meter long.) ( Sounds good. ) [And for the record, Keiko and Hotaru are both injured. Ironically, although Hotaru's been shot multiple times, Keiko's actually more injured.] ( My faith protected me. Your faith got us into this! And since when do you talk anyway?) [Okay! Session start and Hotaru's turn!] * Ten looks around for a chair or something to wedge under the door, while her tank tries to shoot the guy that just shot it! 2 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2 2d8-1) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 8 6. (Second one might have hit!) [There issss a chair. But Hotaru's got two guys trying to force their way in.] [That is to say, she's have to hold the door close with one arm while she got the chair. ] * Hotaru is still leaning on the door from last round and doesn't have an action left for this one. [But anyhow, her tank shoots the guy again. He staggers a lot, but he's still up! Barely. ] [Keiko!] ( brb ) ( bak ) * Keiko grits her teeth and tries to stretch herself, because trying to hit anyone with TK is absolutely, completely, and utterly impossible. What she really needs, as she stares into the guard in front of her's eyes, is for her to manage to grab two at once. Push it, Keiko, because nothing else is gonna work but more Mind Control. (So now you get to figure out how you want to do push. Straight mind roll?) ((The push is for more MC targets, clearly.)) ( Yeah, straight mind. ) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 10. (On the nose!) (Goo smart girl go!) (OF course, I have to succeed at the actual mind control...) ( Yep ) 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8-3) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 2. (... but that's a good make.) [The guy stands there dumbly.] * Keiko trembles as she focuses her attention, her arm squeezed tight around her plush. Good thing she doesn't carry around animals, she'd strangle them all. And then she whispers, letting her shield drop, "Take the keys. Open the door." [He does! Meanwhile, Hotaru needs another opposed body roll! Her tank doesn't need a defense, though, 'cause that guy missed.] 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8) and gets a natural 13 for a result of 13. (Woot Missed by 8!) (Damn, now that's a miss.) [Uh oh. The two guards shove the door open.] [Hotaru!] (What's this place got for windows?) ( A nice view of the cliff. ) (Sonova...) ( I told you there was a cliff behind it from the beginning >.> ) (I thought there were people trying to attack through the windows too.) ( To get into the hallway ) * Hotaru gets pushed back by the force of the shove and tries to run around the dining room table. ( Wall -> lawn -> hallway -> dining room ) (Ahm.) * Ten tries to shoot people through doorway with the tank and realy wishes she had a weapon that was useful against humans on the helecopters. (Just another normal attack roll?) ( Yeah ) 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-1) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 8. (Missed by 1) [Ten misses!] [Keiko!] (He opened the door. What's inside?) ( Oh, right ) [The guy opens the door! Inside is a piano! Plus a nice picture of some political-looking guy on the wall. And a book case in one corner. And a bench along the wall. And a fern. And a piano stool.] * Keiko takes back the keys from the guy, then mentally commands both her thralls, "Kill anyone who isn't a teenage girl, or either of you. Protect ." She waits for the guy to get out of the way, and then heads into the room herself! * Keiko is walking slowly, as she manages two minds now. And the shield's so down. [He does! Meanwhile, Keiko's guard moves for the guards attacking Hotaru, but not before they get inside and take shots at her. One misses, but the other maybe doesn't.] [Plus her tank maybe gets hit, too!] 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-1) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 10. 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-2) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 5. (... The tank dodges, the fleshy doesn't) (Sad.) [The tank dodges! Hotaru's not so lucky. Having been shot three times, she's starting to feel a little sluggish. Plus it hurts a lot, too.] * Hotaru whimpers and clutches Ten tightly. [Hotaru's turn] (I'm at plus what to my attack roll?) ( Doesn't affect your attack roll. I'm just letting you know you're dying :P ) (Oh, goody.) (You're not Xed yet!) * Ten takes two potshots at the human that dared to injure her priestess. 2 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2 2d8-1) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 10 7. (Can I just make second rolls? I seem to make all of them and not first ones) ( >.> ) ( He's shot and goes down! ) ( er ) [He's shot and goes down!] [Keiko!] * Keiko locks the door behind her (since nobody else is in the room!) before she clutches her gunshot wound with her open hand, while holding her thralls with her mind. Faster, terrorists, kill kill. [Keiko's guy upstairs does nothing! He sees nobody to kill. The guy downstairs takes a shot at the remaining person attacking Hotaru, but misses. So does the guy firing on Hotaru's tank. But the one on Hotaru herself does not.] ( Unless she dodges! ) 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-1) and gets a natural 14 for a result of 13. (That's not happening, goodbye cruel world!) [Actually, Hotaru is still up! Despite taking another bullet. Barely.] (Go tank!) [Hotaru's turn!] * Hotaru bleeds all overherself and the floor, but there's something that just won't let her fall. You, you will die for what you have done and your soul will burn when I have the power. * Ten tries to make him full of holes too! 2 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2 2d8-1) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 12 8. (Yeesh.) (I suck!) [But it don't happen!] [Keiko!] * Keiko frowns at the one upstairs and adds, "Go _downstairs_ and kill anyone who isn't either of you, and protect ." Jesus, how stupid are these guys. Cry. No obvious safe, huh? (Assume I phrased that right.) [No obvious safe!] * Keiko closes her eyes a moment, then starts going around and searching the room in a deliberate manner. ( Describe? ) * Keiko lets go of her wound and starts opening stuff with her bloody hand. (She'll get around to the portrait next turn. *chuckle*) [Meanwhile... Keiko's upstairs guard starts downstairs, and her downstairs guard shoots and hits the other guy! But he doesn't go down from that. He fires at Hotaru, maybe hitting. And his buddy fires at her tank, maybe hitting.] (Ha. Those guys are focused.) ('I got shot by someone! Nah, why pay attention to them. Shoot the cowering girl.') (Sorry distracted by Ard) (Tank first this time) 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-2) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 5. 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-1) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 3. (Sweet! Made both!) (I'm ON TO YOU NOW DICY!) [Both Hotaru and her tank survive!] [Hotaru's turn!] (GO HOTARU GO) * Ten repeats her orders to her tank from last round only LOURDER 2 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2 2d8-1) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 4 7. (Both possible hits!) [That sure works. He's very dead.] ( Possible? These guys have crap for defense. ) (So do I!) [Keiko!] ( You actually have a better chance then they do. ) (There's just more of them.) ( Yep ) * Keiko gets blood all over the room a bit, and then looks to the portrait, blinks, and then tries to find a hinge or something. Hey, she's seen TV shows before! * Keiko also holds the mindcontrol. C'mon, team Flunkie. [They're soooo not going to break out of it. As for the portrait, it seems completely attached to the wall.] [Oh, right, well, the only guy left is the guy shooting at Hotaru's tank. He misses.] [Hotaru!] * Hotaru staggers twords the door and gets blood all over the dining room. * Ten orders the tank to finish off that last guard. 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-1) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 3. [Which it totally does.] [Keiko's mind controlled guards continue moving, though.] [Keiko's turn!] * Keiko frowns and MCs, "Once is safe, bring her upstairs." She mutters to herself, "Stubborn Ten..." * Keiko continues trying to find the safe, as neither she nor her player have any idea where the safe is. [The guard in Hotaru's room makes a grab at her.] ( Gimme an awareness check at... +2 ) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. (Make on mind by 1, miss otherwise.) (Any senses apply?) ( Just Keiko, sorry. ) (Oh.) [Keiko notices that in the bookshelf, which is mostly full of books about music, there's a copy of Don Quixote. ] (Also, when did I get another guard in the room and was there anyway to percieve that it's the one shooting the others?) (I'd hope she noticed it was shooting the others!) ( He came looking for you! ) (Well, if it just burst into the room and lunged at her, it's getting shot.) ( And yeah, she could tell he was shooting the others. ) * Hotaru makes a halfhearted step backwords. * Ten demands, "Do you serve Keiko?" * Keiko pulls the copy of Don Quixote off, confused. "I thought this was..." [He doesn't answer! But Hotaru needs a defnse roll against grabs if she doesn't want to get caught.] [The portrait slides sideways, revealing a safe of some sort.] 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. (Bwaha!) [Ten avoids grabbage.] (Grr!) [Hotaru's turn!] What do you want with us? [No answer!] [Keiko's turn! Time's running out, on both the clock and her mind control.] * Keiko 's eyes brighten and she goes to the door. She carefully reaches out with telepathy, to see what her MCed guy sees, and then, "That's her! Tell her Keiko sent you to take her upstairs, and do it!" [He says: "Keiko sent you to take her upstairs, and do it!"] (Mental Note: Find Better Flunkies.) ( If they were smarter, mayeb they could resist your mind control :P ) Fine, take us upstairs, and do so gently. [He does no such thing! Keiko!] * Keiko frowns as he doesn't move and re-controls, "Bring her and the doll here, carefully but quickly. She's wounded." She paces over to the safe a moment. What's it look like? * Keiko also puts her hand back over her gunshot wound, along with her pacing. [It's a big metal box with a digital readout and a keypad that looks like it could be on a telephone.] [The guard grabs at Hotaru again!] * Hotaru allows herself to be grabbed. * Ten sends the helecopters to find the room Keiko is in. [Hotaru is grabbed. She's taken out of the dining room and carried up the stairs.] ( Ending init for now, til these guys are uncontrolled. ) * Keiko comes back to the door and unlocks it as the guys come to the door. "Bring her in, and then tell me the code if either of you know it." 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-3) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 3. * Keiko frowns and adds, "Also, put her down." After all that. * Keiko swallows. Mind control is hard. [The guard carries Hotaru to the room, then puts her down It is 4122. * Hotaru sways again as she's put down. [The guard sways, too.] * Keiko looks at her a moment, and all her wounds, and stays away. "... good." She backs far away from the girls. "Can you unlock--" her eyes snap to the guards. "Guards! Out the window! Go!" [They plummet to their deaths.] * Keiko drops to her knees and breathes shakily. "We... gotta get the papers, Hotaru... Ten..." If Hotaru can stand, so can you. 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-4) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 5. I'm not letting you give up either. [The safe opens! Behind it is a manilla folder, sealed and stamped with a big red "SECRET DOCUMENTS"] * Keiko looks to Ten and Hotaru and says, "Probably, but... holding minds is hard. I... haven't given up." Then stand and take the papers. We are leaving. * Keiko nods and gets to her feet, switching hands to grab the papers with her clean hand (and getting the plush dirty. IT can be washed!) "Got them. Let's... let's go." [You gots the papers!] * Hotaru turns and lurches for the stairs. * Keiko walks after her and says, quietly, "You're a rough one, Ten." Then she adds, more loudly, "I've got keys." [You get to the foyer, only to find two more guards. Dangit. They're partway up the stairs already.] [Keeping same init. Hotaru!] * Keiko groans with annoyance/exhaustion/pain, and lets out something sharp in Japanese. (Does the tank have line of sight?) ( Sure! ) (The one on the left) 2 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2 2d8-1) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 12 9. (Total wiffage!) [You can hear the bullets ricochet around the room.] [Keiko!] * Keiko tries to grab the mind of the one not being shot at as she says loudly, "Shoot the other guard!" 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8-3) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 5. (Hooray.) (Go you!) [He does! And misses. Fortunately, that guard also misses Keiko.] (Did they take two different stairways, so there's a 'clear' path out?) (Or are things blocked?) ( Nope, there's just one stairway. You can go out a second story window onto the lawn, though. Or down the cliff if you prefer.] ) (Brilliant!) [Hotaru's turn!] * Hotaru flinches at the nearby gunshot and takes a step back up the stairs. * Ten tries to shoot the same guy again. 2 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2 2d8-1) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 4 9. (A hit!) [He's shot! But still up. Keiko!] * Keiko snaps, "Grab him and throw him over the railing," She re-puts up her forcefield and starts going down the stairs. Leading the charge, so that she'll take the hits, hopefully. * Keiko 's teeth grit as she advances. [He totally sucks at grabbing. But he sucks at shooting, too.] [Hotaru's turn!] * Hotaru winces at the sound, but follows a few steps behind Keiko. * Ten lathers, rinces, and repeats. 2 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2 2d8-1) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 3 7. (Gasp! 2 hits!) [He's so dead.] (Hoo ya.) * Keiko drops her shield and tells her guy, "Right. Take the keys, unlock the front door. C'mon, Hotaru..." she continues walking. * Keiko also weakly tosses him the keys. [Nothing tries to kill you when you get outside!] [Actually, he opens the door first. (Oh, this one's almost got a brain!) (I like him.) * Ten has the tank back up and keep a bead on the guard, meanwhile the helecopters also fall back. * Keiko just heads out to escape, telling the guard to follow her just in case of ambush. At least, until they get to the gate. * Keiko clutches both the plush and the papers tightly, too. As tightly as she can, anyway. [You get to the gate. Lu Bu does not come out. That's actually a really really good thing, 'cause you'd be sooooo dead if he did.] (Hoo yeah.) (Like we arn't halfway dead now) ( Well, YOU'RE not. ) ( You're a bit more than halfway :D ) * Keiko glances back to Hotaru/Ten and tosses off to the guard, "Take a nap," before sighing and saying, "C'mon, we just have to get to... wherever the endpoint is." [He goes to bed.] * Hotaru staggers after her. Make him forget us. * Keiko says wearily, "Don't have time." (Actualy, that should be "Erase his memories of us") (Response is the same!) Then we fail, and I will not allow that after allowing this to happen to my priestess. * Keiko looks at her a moment, and then turns around. "It's just a simulation." She gets back to the guy, and reaches down to grab his gun. "Simple solution." * Keiko has to shuffle everything into one arm, of course. The clean one! Bloody guns concern nobody. Very well then. * Keiko puts the gun up against the prone guard's head, takes two slow breaths, and then pulls the trigger, wincing at the pain of the gun going off. And then, her face going cold, she just drops it and walks away. "Stupid fake people," she mutters. * Hotaru flinches at the noise again and then staggers forward. [Keiko gets some brains splattered on her nice dress.] (Fake brains!) [Feels real enough.] [Nice and gooey and leaking.] * Keiko shudders a little as she walks. And walks. And eventually the sim will end. [It ends when you cross back into the woods with the papers. The holoroom goes back to normal, and shortly, Gertrude enters.] (I take it that we don't hurt anymore?) ( Nope. And there's no brains on Keiko's dress, either! ) * Keiko loos down over herself and just murmurs, "So fake, but so real. I wish I knew how they did it..." * Hotaru remanes perfectly still and then collapes onto the floor. I hope you will forgive my priestess, that was... trying on her. [Gertrude folds her arms. "Well. You somehow managed to succeed after giving yourselves away right at the start. Impressive."] [She sure doesn't sound impressed, though.] ["And it only took you a bit more than 45 minutes. Just a bit under half the time it took Red team."] (Er?) (The timelimit was an hour. Red Team couldn't have taken twice that time. Did you mean the other waty around?) ( Yeah, meant over, not under. Sorry. ) (Still confused.) ( She's saying they only took about 25 minutes. ) (We took twice the time they did?) (We took twice the time, yeah.) (So it's not a bit under half the time it took them. A bit over twice. Aheh) ( Sorry, my bad. ) * Keiko takes the now-clean plush in both hands, looing over to Hotaru's collapse with only a split-second of alarm, before a faint smile crosses her lips. She then looks up to Gertrude and says, tiredly, but defiantly, "And?" (. o O (Do I really have to detail everything that is different between the two teams?)) If I had not alerted them, we would have been faster. I will practice more. [Gertrude nods to Ten. "I'm sure your Guardian will aprove." To Keiko, she says, "And your file says you are only capable of controlling one person at a time. What happened in there?"] * Keiko smiles with deep self-satisfaction (and tiredness) and says, in Japanese, Then she adds, "Update the files, I guess. I need some headache pills now." * Keiko puts her hand to her temple. "And your fake people are really dumb." [Snape-- Er, Gertrude smiles back. "So you got lucky. Noted.] ["Indeed. I did mention this was supposed to be an easy exercise."] You did. I am not ready. * Keiko manages a faint smirk of her own as she mutters, "I mean idiots, not easy." She then closes her eyes and rubs that temple. "Nnh." [Gertrude nods. "That's fairly evident."] * Hotaru pulls herself into a sitting position. [She turns. "Well, I'd best submit my report. I suppose your Guardians will be pleased to learn that you're at least willing to kill helpless men."] * Keiko grits her teeth, anger on her face, but she holds her tongue. [Gertrude leaves!] * Ten snorts. "Their only reason to exist was to end." * Keiko lets the anger dissapate, and then after a few moments looks down to Ten and Hotaru. A weak smile creeps onto her face before she says, "Couldn't have made it without you." Beat, then, "I really, really need those pills, now." * Keiko starts to shuffle out. ( End? ) And I without you. (Go ahead) [Session End]
