One side of her face is covered in blood from a cut in her forehead; she reaches up to feel it, and looks shocked when her hand comes away red with blood.] (Do I actually have to hold onto my plush the same way?) * Roseli tries to roll with the blast and ends up slamming against a wall. She grimaces and climbs to her feet, dazed. "Hotaru," she says sharply as she tries to orient herself and find any potential baddies or the source of the blast, "are you conscious?" ( Yep! ) [Hotaru loses track of her bag!] (If it's str, I autofail.) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 10. * Roseli is bleeding quite badly, but she seems inclined to ignore it. (Can I react to the being thrown with my shield?) (So I absorb some of the wall impact?) * Heinrick tries to pull himself up and narrows his focus, looking around for the source of the explosion. "It seems some object to people having a good meal." He then looks around. "Is everyone alright?" * Hotaru wails. "I can't find Ten!" She's also feeling the area around herself for the bag. [Your injuries aren't *too* bad, considering. You were on the far side from the blast, so you got off better than most of the people in the restaurant.] ( And no, that happened too fast. ) (Glasses intact?) * Luana tumbles but lands mostly unscathed. She looks around for whatever could have caused the blast and calls out uncertainly, "I'm fine." When she hears Hotaru cry out, she starts looking for Ten as well. ( By some miracle, they are! ) ~Keiko, are you okay?~ * Hotaru is burnt and bleeding, and if anybody didn't already know, the blast knocked her shades off to reveal that she's got no eyes, or sockets for that matter. * Roseli says quietly to Heinrick, "Get the wards out. Going to get patrons." At that, she runs towards where the blast was to haul injured folks out. (Pfft. PCs clothing and equipment only get injuries when dramatically appropriate.) * Keiko cries out in pain in both the explosion and the impact, tearing her dress in places. As she regains her senses, she says, weakly, "Kiyoshi..." and then her shield comes over her. After a moment she thinks back, ~Alive.~ [Five men rush in through what remains of the door. They're wearing white clothes, kevlar vests, and infrared goggles. Four have automatic weapons, the fith has some sort of funky looking pistol. That one is screaming something, but most of you can't understand the language.] [They don't look friendly though, so roll init!] 2d8+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8+7) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 14. 2d8+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8+7) and gets 23, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! [The man seems surprised by Roseli's sudden attack, but he manages to weave his way around her. Now that she's up close, Roseli can see that he looks much older than the rest of the men.] [Ten!] * Hotaru flails blindly as she tries tries to find her backpack! (They all grouped close together?) [The guy with the pistol backs away from Roseli, but surprisingly enough, he doesn't shoot her. He turns and fires at Keiko instead. The man snarls something, but again in a language most of you can't understand.] * Roseli scowls at that. * Heinrick narrows his eyes at that as well. [The other shooters open fire! One aims at Roseli to deal with her, while the other two speard bullets around the room, targetting seemingly at random.] [But actually at Luana and Heinrick. Gimme def rolls, you two.] [Third guy doesn't hit anyone.] 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-2) and gets a natural 15 for a result of 13. 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Luana (2d8-2) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 3. (Fail!) (Wow, Dicey is FULL of hate today.) (Yeah. I need my plush back.) [Nothing Happens. Meainwhile, Karin kicks over a table and takes up position behind it, like in an old western. She produces an automatic pistol from her jacket and fires, yelling "Wards, get behind me and head for the kitchen in back!"] [She hits one of the men, but the bullet doesn't seem to do much damage with his kevlar.] [The fifth shooter laughs, says something aloud in Russian, and opens fire on Keiko.] [The one with the pistol swears.] 2d8+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8+2) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 13. (More shield hitting.) [They hit her shield some more, but it's starting to weaken under the impact.] [And a bullet ricochets off the ground in front of Hotaru, seemingly fired from nowhere.] [Heinrick!] * Hotaru starts and covers her ears. "Aaah!" * Keiko flinches at the impacts, shrinks back, and says to all the wards and guardans with open minds, ~I can't take them alone...~ * Roseli doesn't "hear" Keiko, but she does yell, "Wards, move now! Follow Karin's order!" * Heinrick tightens his mouth a bit at the pain and approaches the one that just shot at Keiko swiftly, trying to grapple him and hold his weapon so it stays pointed at the air away from people. 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-2) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 8. (Make) [Heinrick succeeds! But it leaves him horribly exposed.] [Roseli!] (Exposed? I have a human shield. o/~) ( No, your pants came off when you made that maneuver. ) * Roseli shoots the leader. Her bullet manages to penetrate his armor, and he swears viciously at her in Russian.] [Ten!] * Hotaru doesn't know which way the exit is, so she waits and cowers for now. [Luana!] * Luana gets the bag over to Hotaru as quickly as possible and shoves the bag into her hands while pushing gently on Hotaru's back with her other hand. "Come on, we need to go. This way." * Hotaru grabs the bag and clutches it tightly. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Hotaru (2d8) and gets 16, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "Death is temporary, only failure is forever. You may have just done both." (Hotaru fails at bag grabbing.) [Hotaru catches it with her face.] (At least she's still pushed!) ( Oh whoops! [Meanwhile, the guy with the pistol swaps ammunition and fires at Keiko again.] (...) (Say, Brett?) ( ? ) (Just to let you know, I accidently used my ranged weapons roll, not my ranged defense roll. ^^;) (Still would have been a miss, just letting you know.) Meanwhile, the one dealing with Roseli fires at her again, and the one fighting Heinrick struggles for his weapon, but fails to break free.] * Heinrick doesn't look pleased with this turn of events. He doesn't look pleased at all. "Luana! Can you help her out of her?" (Oh. Err, grabbed. Well...) ( Roseli needs a def roll ) 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8-3) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 6. (Made that.) [Roseli avoids AUTOMATIC MACHINEGUN FIRE!] (HOORAYE!) [Karin opens fire on the man who grabbed Keiko! I'm tricky.) [Heinrick succeeds! [He yells something, but they either don't hear, don't care, or he's not yelling what Roseli told him too. Honestly, he might not even understand what she's saying.] [Luana!] (Is there stuff burning near the guy with Keiko?) ( Sure! ) (Explosion: Convenient.) * Luana makes a sharp gesture with her arm, hoping to move some of the fire to the guy's clothes. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Luana (2d8) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 5. (Made~) (You burn my ward, I speak with Dr. Kerner.) [And she does! He drops Keiko in a panic and starts beating out the flames. [Karin gets out from behind her table to chase after Keiko, but comes to an abrupt stop as a bullet ricochets off the floor behind her. Outside, a van opens its side door, where another man, similarly dressed but lacking a helmet, waits with a gattling gun. He's big, bald, and has a thick handlebar mustache.] [Heinrick!] (Door open?) ( Yes, but #1 is blocking it. ) ( And the guy you're grappling is still conscious. ) (Can I throw past him?) ( You can try. I'll say... +3 ) (Even if I say screw the grappling?) ( Yeah, the guy's standing right in the door. You'd have to aim around him ) * Heinrick looks out the door and then throws the guy he's grappling away. Hard. The man with the gattling gun fires a spray of bullets as they go. She's not looking too good right now.] [A bullet pings off the mailbox Luana is hiding behind.] [Heinrick!] * Heinrick can't go after the van, so concentrates on what he can do. He pulls out a throwing knife and throws it with his left arm at the one targetting Hotaru, while yelling, "Keep running!" 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-3) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 8. [Heinrick hits the man. The kevlar, being designed to stop bullets more than edged weapons, doesn't offer up as much resistance and the knife hits his forearm, drawing blood.] [Roseli!] * Roseli ignores the bullets and the blood and the brains and the ow - especially the ow - and runs after the van as she fires at the exposed gatling guy. [Shooter #5 also takes a shot at Luana, and the bald guy tries to kick her out of the van.
