Or had they? One of them - the ninja - threw a smoke bomb and then things went all to hell.] (Yeah, apparently it was a smoke bomb with a mind!) [Quick recap: The ninja is somewhere to the left of the smoke, while the rugged man with the possibly magic sword is sorta left, but not as close. The teenager is missing, the burly guy is gone along with the two hostages, and a weird shadow is heading towards Ten, but only Keiko and Heinrick knows about it.] [On the other hand, nobody's really been injured yet, on either side, although plenty of tear gas has been thrown around. And Ten lost some copters.] ( Aight? Aight. Rose can roll init and arrive next round. Meanwhile...] ) [Session Start!] [Oh yeah: Init is Ninja, Luana, Sword-guy, brute, man, woman, Keiko, Ten, Teen, Heinrick] [The ninja pulls some smooth moves, or maybe just pulls out a tranquilizer and shoots Luana. She drops like a log.] (There goes our ability to cause damage :/) [Meanwhile, the guy with the sword rubs at his eyes, still out of it from the tear gas. "This *cough* this is your last warning."] (That's why Roseli's coming.) ( What? You get Rose soon :P No real change. ) (THE SCRAPPER IS DOWN) * Heinrick looks at the guy curiously. "For what? As I recall, you are the ones who made the first hostile move." ["We haven't hurt anyone yet, but don't think we won't."] Well, so long as we're debating definitions... The only one she can sense is the one who's shielded, which is pretty evidently the unshaven guy, since he's the only one in plain sight. ) (Great.) * Keiko exhales noisily and closes her eyes as she heads straight through the cloud. ( Gimme a sight roll! ) (Eyes closed, fail.) (Try telepathy or empathy. They aren't closed. ;) [Keiko steps on something sharp. Yeouch!!!] (Ah, yes, the caltrops you forgot to redescribeb.) (*makes a mental notes to put a cowcatcher on the tank) ( Not everyone knew there were caltrops. ) (*shrugs* Keiko basically failed the entire mission already. No big.) [Ten] * Keiko cries out at stepping on sharp metal, before saying in an annoyed tone, "You are the ONLY ones who deserve to be hurt here!" (Cham's kicking me out. Back in 15.) * Ten continues to try and find a target for the weapon she brought with, and curse herself for not taking the tank. Fortunatly she doesn't have any power so the curses are harmless. *** Signoff: Keiko (Quit: Sigh.) (Could try to specifically listen for someone, but it'd probably be a little difficult to identify who's what.) [Ten is caught by surprise as the teenage girl seeming leaps out of the ground. [Hotaru's panther-like reflexes save her from getting grabbed! And yeah, she was.] 2d8+19 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8+19) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 25. ( And now I try to remember what everyone actually rolled. ) * Ten shouts over the intercoms "GET AWAY FROM MY PRIESTESS!" as Hotaru takes a sudden step backwords, away from the rushing, and suddenly loud precence in front of her. [Heinrick!] ( Nearly forgot him >.> ) (...he's kind of important.) ( He's not the president of anything. ) (*Gives Heinrick a "President of the Keiko Fan Club" button) 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-1) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 9. * Heinrick crouches low to the ground and cups the headset as much as possible so they can't overhear, keeping his voice low. "Ten. See if you can track the hostages without being noticed. If we can keep them busy in the meantime..." (Can he get an action too or is that it?) ( Go ahead. ) * Heinrick then gets up and runs forward to grapple the girl who came out of the ground. "Forgive me." 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-2) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 8. ( She's too far away for you to grapple ) (Eh. Who's within range then?) ( She's all the way over at Ten, Heinrick's more towards the building. ) ( Just the sword guy. ) * Ten speaks over the headsets. "I have not seen them leave. NOW HELP!" (Alright, retconning.) * Heinrick runs over to the man with the sword, taking out one of his throwing knives and making a firm grab for him. [The man with the sword moves out of the way. "No."] * Heinrick draws back, holding the knife pointed towards his throat. "Call them off." (Add "There's no need." to that sentence. Hit enter too soon.) ["Call yours off. We only want to leave in peace.] With hostages? I think not. [The good news is, Roseli arrives by car! Woot! She goes after the ninja.] (With the car? XD) [The bad news is, there's a fence between her and the rest of you, so she can't run anyone over.] (Heheheh, YES GIVE ME A CAR. Aw.) (What sort of fence?) ( Wire. ) (Pft. Like that'd stop Rose.) [Keiko manages to get the shoes untied, but then the man's gaze flicks to her, and suddenly she loses her grip, feeling like something's struggling against her.] [Ten] * Ten has an exelent plan, she's going to shoot the crazy girl who's attacking the other crazy girl with a a ward. 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-2) and gets a natural 12 for a result of 10. (Or miss horribly. One or the other.) ( Which crazy girl? 'Cause there's a couple of 'em here.... er... nevermind. ) * Keiko 's eyes go to the man, locking on, cold and blue. "You are kidnapping people who do not want it." She says quietly, but intently. "You're no better than them." [A ward shoots past the girl's head and sticks to the fence.] [Meanwhile, the man shakes his head at Keiko. "You're wrong. Zukunft kidnapped and subjected them to their inhumane experiments. We're rescuing them."] [Mean-meanwhile, the teen lunges at Hotaru again. "None of that, now."] ( Gimme an unarmed def (holds) ) (... I've just remembered I've got another attack. I think I'll use it after this defence.) 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-1) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 10. (Woots, failed) [The girl grabs Hotaru by the neck, and forces her back to the fence. "Call them off, or I'm going to really have to hurt you."] * Keiko replies, still intent, quiet, cold, "None of you deserves to lecture me on that. None of you." * Hotaru doesn't even struggle with the girl. * Ten ,the small annoying voice coming from somewhere just behind Hotaru laughs. "You couldn't if you tried." 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8-2) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 4. (Now that's a potential hit) [And it does hit! Ten lands the first real blow of the battle, and the girl shrieks as the ward hits her in the back. "Agh!" Just like that, see?] [Heinrick!] * Heinrick slowly circles the guy with the sword, knife still pointed at him. "Really now. They asked to be rescued?" He suddenly darts forward for the man's arm with his left hand, to pull it behind his back. 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-2) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 7. (Hey! Your shoes are untied!) [Heinrick nearly gets it, too! But at the last minute, the guy seems to sense what he's up to and pulls away. "Zukunft has been kidnapping people for years. How do you think they completed the genetic modification process? It took nearly a century of experiments and research theft."] * Keiko just stares at the man. [Some good news! Three guys suddenly emerge from around the corner of the building. They're dressed in black assault gear, and they have the Zukunft logo across their chest. Plus they have semi-automatic rifles. One of them points towards the battle. "Over there!"] * Heinrick nods calmly and stares at the man with the sword. "I see. You like to avoid questions, don't you?" [And some bad news! Before they get there, a monster pops out of the ground in front of them. It's a humanoid shape, but it's maybe ten feet tall. It's skin is a pinkish red, its spine sticks out along its back, its hands would fall as far as its knees if it wasn't hunched over, and it's got sharp claws, yellow eyes, slits for nostrils, and a wide mouth full of pointy teeth.] ( That get through? ) (Yes) ( K ) [Since its back is to you, you shouldn't be able to see the whole thing, really. But I described it fully anyhow, because it's suddenly joined by a second. And then a third and fourth appear near Ten and the girl, and 5 through seven appear near the rest of you. Uh oh.] (In front of who?) (Because we're sorta spread out.) ( Two are near the guards who just rounded the corner, two are near the girl and Hotaru, and three are near the rest of you.] ) (Yay.) (Any chance we can recognize what these are?) [Mmmm.... Occult roll at.... +4] 2d8+4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8+4) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 12. 2d8+3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ten (2d8+3) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 14. Defeat them within three rounds, or they get BIG and only a giant robot will be able to kill them.] (*digivolves Keiko into Keikasaur*) (And...uh...do I need to roll a defense?) (A very appropriate response.) (That's the whole problem Brett, We don't have giant robot. ;_;) * Keiko gasps slightly and says quietly, in Japanese, [The ninja doesn't seem to do anything! Yet.] (BRETT) (DO I NEED ROLL DEFENSE? Y/N?) ( No. ) (Thank you.) ( I meant they go after Heinrick in init. Not all seven go after Heinrick at once :P ) ( Anyhow! ) * Heinrick looks at the creatures and sighs. "This is just what we need..." [Roseli! She's on the other side of the fence from Ten, the girl and the two monsters that just appeared near them.] * Roseli blinks once from the other side of the fence, then speaks over her comm: "If anyone sees those monsters with yellow eyes: straight out of a legend. Mindless things that eat flesh. Should be seven." [The girl grimaces as she looks up at them. "Damn."] * Roseli , having said that, proceeds to climb/jump the fence and shoot one in the head on her way down. (Or other convenient location, but frankly, head's probably closest!) * Heinrick speaks back into the comms, especially since one's going for him. "Weaknesses?" (Regardless, not actually aiming; that was flavor.) 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8-3) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 7. (Made.) ( The jump or the shot? ) * Roseli responds: "None that I know of, but they're easier to kill than vampires. If it dies and leaves something behind, DO NOT touch it." (That was the shot. I wasn't aware I needed another roll; I thought that was because I was trying to do it all in one turn.) 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8-2) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 4. (Made the jump!) [Blam! Roseli shoots in the head, causing it to fall forward onto its stomach! It growls, though, and starts to rise. But at least she's on the other side of the fence.] * Keiko replies, "A weakness for flesh. Which is odd..." Behind me, Hotaru. * Ten uses the radio. "As soon as she's done being choked to death, I'll get her right on that." [The guy with the sword glances at one out of the corner of his eye. "Damn." Then he turns and runs towards the ninja. And Heinrick, gimme an unarmed defense (Throws)] (Shit, I didn't realize she was still being choked. I'm a crappy guardian. :() (Throws? "Get back here, you COWARD, and FIGHT these things!" Mind control on him. He HAS a mind. 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8-4) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 1. (Well, a solid make.) (9 is very solid.) (Yep, that's pretty solid.) [He does pause, and then sighs. "Alright. Fine. You'll need the help." then he slashes at the nearest monster to him, taking off an arm. It screeches in anger.] [Ten!] * Keiko is still exhibiting a strange sort of anger as she stares at him, crouching down slightly to be nearer to Luana. But now at least she has another protector! * Hotaru clumisly lifts her arms up and tries to push the other girls arms away from her throat. 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Hotaru (2d8-1) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 10. (... Let's see if she can fail by more than five!) [It don't work.] (Since my other option is to crash a hele into her, I'll just do nothing!) [Luckily for her, Hotaru doesn't get strangled! The girl dives back into her shadow and starts to retreat.] [Heinrick.] * Heinrick tries to catch himself as he flips away from the guy with the sword, looking probably the most irritated that anyone's seen him. Another one slaps the sword guy, knocking him away. One goes for Roseli, one goes for Keiko, one goes for Hotaru, and one chases after the sword guy. D'oh!] [The remaining guards open fire, putting a few bullets into one of the monsters.] * Hotaru staggers back stoicly and tries to regain her footing. [The ninja appears like the darkness, wraps an arm around the guy with the sword, and starts hauling him away from the fighting.] [Roseli!] * Roseli reels a little at the hit, but she speaks calmly enough into the comm: "Do you have the hostages? Hotaru, help me take care of these." And blam at the first one again, intending on taking it down. 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8-3) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 2. (So made that.) [And down it goes this time. It turns into a white substance not unlike flour.] (Cocaine!) [The creature missing an arm is also shoved to the ground at this time.] [Keiko] * Heinrick speaks back into them. "No. We do not know where they went. Though Ten still has not sent out scouts to look for them." He takes a glance over at her. * Keiko got knocked around a bit. She gets to her feet and tries to advance towards the retreating people. As she does this, she grabs at the caltrops. Perhaps pulling them behind her, like a wake. (Perhaps just missing.) I see. Hotaru, take care of that and stay behind me. I have this one. 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8-3) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 4. (TK roll made by 6, on Keiko playing Jacks.) [Keiko gets some caltrops.] [Ten] (Are the shadow and the ninja retreating in the same direction?) ( More or less ) (Ha.) (Mecha, you ever played American McGee's Alice?) (Sooo reminds me of the Jacks o' Death here.) ( I think I should probably just end it here. It's getting late, and I don't think this'll be over any time soon. ) * Ten orders one of the small helies to follow the shadow, one to follow herself, and orders the remaining small one and the large heli to scout the direction of the retreat. (Actually, I haven't.) (I think Cham owned it once.) (Jacks o' Death are awesome.) [The shadow turns into the teen long enough for her to peel the ward off her back.] [Heinrick] (Wait, how many actions does she have?) ( She's still in human form. ) (What's left?) ( Six of the monsters, the teen, and the ninja and sword-guy are still in sight. ) (6 globbies, fleeing Ninja/Durandal, and the girl, yeah.) (Sword-guy is still MC'd though?) (Any of the monsters in close proximity to each other?) ( Yes and yes. ) (And somewhat away from the PCs and guards?) ( The two near the guards and the three near Keiko/Luana all are. ) ( No ) (Ah. Yeah, doesn't help then.) * Heinrick goes up near Keiko and takes out one of his acid vials throwing it on one of the creatures near them to even the odds while actually thinking to Keiko. Afterwards, he takes his collar and gives it a short flick. 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-3) and gets a natural 13 for a result of 10. (annnnd...I miss.)
