[Day: Friday, January 16th, Time: 9:00 a.m.] (...I need to start remembering to eat dinner before game starts.) (This seems... wise.) (Or you can eat it during, like me!) ( Roseli's rage will sustain you! ) (You're pacific! You have no choice!) (And logs are up?) (I'm full of rage? When I was full of rage?) (Oh Ten, you are so screwed.) () (Log is still up, yes. The mini was not relevant to the plot.) (Did you read what happened last session?) (Honest.) (034 was last.) (I was given a summary.) [You stand before an execution squad. Or possibly something worse: an angry-looking pint-sized fairy. Nene and Lydia confront you in the upstairs Briefing Room. There's a bunch of papers spread across the frontal desk, and Lydia poors through them, frowning like a ... a... like Professor McGonagal. Nene looks rather more visibly upset. She paces across the desk, her arms folded behind her back.] [Let's get this train wreck a rollin'] [I mean start. Or whatev'] * Togo is tightning the springs in one of his machine gun's ammo drums as he waits for the reaming to begin. [Nene looks at you expectantly. "Well?"] * Keiko is wearing black today. It contrasts well with the colorful duck sitting on the table in front of her. And the blue ribbon in her hair. And her eyes. Which are fixed about a foot off to the left of Nene. * Luana is staring down into her lap, and her hair is its normal length and doing it's best to obscure her face. She's wearing a blue skirt today. It matches Keiko's ribbon. (*its) Pretty simple. Things were going pretty smoothly until the guy who'd been slobbering over the girls on the way there jumped on Jaime to knock her out of the way of an attack she was already dodging, and more directly to get into her pants. Ten went batshit, the other team leader went batshit right back, and the rest of us did our damn jobs. (I love your directness, Togo.) (I hate your lack of tact.) ( Heh. It's his most and least endearing features. Other than the gaping holes in his face. ) [Lydia speaks without looking up. "That's not the way Section 1 put it."] * Roseli listens, nodding a bit. She's dressed... well, like she always is, and chewing gum, as usual, and doesn't look any different at all. Not even particularly angry. Probably. Except for Adela, Section 1 seems to be filled with morons and psychopaths. [Nene speaks. "Section 1 didn't fire the first shot."] * Keiko thinks at Luana, ~Your guardian doesn't know when to be quiet. It's fun.~ Never said they did. * Heinrick has his hands folded together and is looking out expectantly. "While I obviously cannot comment on the conduct of this mission, I am curious who took over the gap of leadership while I was unable to perform my duty." * Luana agrees. ~I like him more and more all the time.~ * Keiko looks puzzled for a moment after Heinrick says what he does, but she doesn't look at him. Instead, she looks into that middle of nowhere. It's a nice middle of nowhere. [Nene sighs. "That, Dr. Engels, seems to be part of the problem in itself."] * Heinrick glances over at Nene. "Oh? Were you not personally overseeing the operation?" ( Sorry I was gone, but my player was in NY. ;P) The horny moron did something stupid in tackling Jaime, but it was Ten who escalated by going nuts and attacking him. At that point, a professional would've realized what was going on and tried to defuse the situation, but that guy from Section 1 decided it would be a good time to work out his hatred for the genetically modified by machinegunning Jaime. ( She was? ) (Yeah. We tried to talk to you about it, but you weren't around whenever I tried to see if you were.) As you might expect, things went downhill from there. ( Shucks. I've been working on grad school apps, so I haven't been online much ) [Lydia nods. "Downhill, indeed."] (Yeah, it's fine. I wasn't around always, either. ^^;) * Togo shrugs. "Keiko performed well under pressure, as did Luana, though her aim still needs work. And despite the chaos, we killed the Abomination without too much loss of life." (...Crap, I knew I forgot something! Why do I keep forgetting to update my character sheet!?) * Heinrick settles back into listening mode now. He's currently watching Nene and Lydia for their responses. Since apparently they do not seem to be interested in giving an adequate answer to his question at this time. (Work on it right after game. Or now.) (Yeah) * Keiko pets her duck and thinks at Luana, ~Well, I suppose the compliments help.~ [Lydia shakes her head, finally looking up. "That's where you're mistaken, Mr. Goranov."] * Luana blinks and looks up for half a second. ~I never knew Togo had a last name. I mean, I suppose he had to, but... do you think I should be calling him by that?~ *** Signoff: RDMenchi (Read error: Connection reset by peer) *** RDMenchi (RanDoMs@dpc6745113116.direcpc.com) has joined channel #mc4 * Keiko smiles slightly to herself. ~Only if he wants. I don't think he wants.~ * Togo tilts his head at Lydia. "I do go by a nickname for a reason. Names hold power in this line of work." (Nss.) [Lydia glances at the lot of you. "Unfortunately, all of our wards performed less than adequately in last night's operation."] * Luana winces and ducks her head slightly lower. Ten will be dealt with. ["Ten is, by far, the worst case. But." Her gaze shifts to Luana. "Ms. Hall."] Ma- ma'am. ["Do you know what the greatest threat at the premesis was?"] The Abomination, ma'am. *** RDMenchi is now known as RDMgryphon * Keiko 's smile fades away, her face becoming unemotional and dull even before her turn shows up. ( "No, the greatest threat was from global warming." ) (Luana, only you can prevent forest fires.) (Or cause them. Same diff.) ["That's right. And you were in a unique position to fight it. But once Ten was shot, you turned your attention elsewhere."] Yes, ma'am. (Jamie was shot! Ten never got hit!) (Nobody cares about Jamie.) ( The greatest threat was... BEARS. ) (ROBOT-BEARS.) (I hope not! I brought along a bear.) ["The result of your actions put the operation at risk. In fact, there was another casualty after you turned away. One that may have been prevented if you had kept your mind focussed on the task at hand." She looks at Luana over the top of her glasses. "Frankly, after all of your training I expected better."] * Roseli folds her arms and watches. [She doesn't explode.] * Luana curls up tighter. "Yes. I'm sorry, ma'am. I'll do better." ( Bah, it's nothing that a few days of Specialized Togo Battle Training (TM) can't fix! ) [Lydia nods. "See that you do. We can't afford to let our personal feelings get in the way of our missions, or the cost could be counted in lives." Her gaze moves to Keiko. She's totally not a robot. "Ms. Hanano."] ["Several of the preists have testified that you attempted to control the minds of Commander Kranz and Mr. Hobbs."] * Heinrick listens silently to this, glancing between Keiko and Lydia. His chin has barely moved. ( It's hibernating. ) ( Will you hurry? My chin has fallen asleep from this meeting.) * Keiko replies, flatly, "To accomplish the mission required refocusing both of their efforts on the abomination. That's what you want. That's what I did. After keeping them from dying." She's still not looking at anyone. ["Actually, by forcing Mr. Hobbs to move after he'd been shot, you worsened his injury."] ["But the bigger concern here is Commander Kranz. Suppose he claims he was mind controlled into shooting Ten."] He'd be lying. ["Who would know?"] * Heinrick puts his fingers to his forehead, sighing. "That is rather beside the point." He turns to Lydia. "I will be certain to have a talk with her later." Priests. * Luana says quietly, "The- the priests." (*high five!*) * Keiko snorts and says, "He hates all of us. He'd rather blame me than..." * Heinrick gives a quick glance to Keiko. Anyone with more than ten brain cells who was there. I agree that trying to get Hobbs to fight might not have been the best move, but going after Kranz to stop him from shooting at all of us was a prudent move. * Keiko trails off when people bring up the priests. Kranz was threatening to shoot all of us, and if he'd done that he could've severely hurt the mission, not to mention us. * Heinrick puts his hand to his forehead. "Togo. Would you kindly stop being so helpful?" ["The priests are civilians. We can't be sure they'll testify that Keiko used her ability after Kranze had already shot Ten. Even if they do, Kranz may claim that they were shook up and don't remember events in the proper sequence."] *** Signoff: Luana (Read error: Connection reset by peer) * Togo glances at Heinrick, and then leans back in his chair. "Just sayin' what happened. Didn't mean to step in your business." * Keiko replies flatly, "He can claim whatever he wants. I was of no mind to pay attention to him." [Nene shakes her head. "We're not doubting you. But not everyone is going to agree, and the fact is, you've given the Commander leverage. It's highly unlikely he'll be terminated. He may recieve a demotion, but it's entirely possible he'll get off with just a repremand."] [Lydia nods. "Meanwhile, there's more emnity between our departments than there ever was in the past."] * Heinrick gives him a short nod to Togo, then turns to Lydia. "Is that entirely true? Or is it merely more covert now?" * Keiko doesn't bother responding to the blame game. * Keiko pets her duck instead. ( Overt, you mean? ) (Actually, yes.) [Nene shakes her head. "It's no secret that section one dislikes the idea of a few genetically enhanced agents taking over the work of entire teams. They now have one more reason to say genetic modification is a bad idea. And that's not all. Minister Bernstein sent me here because he didn't feel section 2 was performing up to standard. But after last night, he's beginning to think the entire section should be purged."] ( That get through? ) (Yes.) ( Woot ) * Keiko replies flatly, "They have a good reason to say that having that man on their teams is a bad idea too. But they're not running with that." ( Wait. So people think that genetically modifying psychologically unstable teenage girls and then sending them out to do supernatural field work is a BAD IDEA?! ) ["No. That's because Commander Kranze has a better reputation than you give him. He's performed very well in the past, and his men like him because he takes care of them."] * Keiko bites off, "As long as they're not freaks." Then she mushes her duck down a little and stops talking. [Lydia nods. "Unfortunately, it seems he vehemently hates the idea of genetically modified agents more than most."] * Heinrick shrugs slightly. "Throughout human history, people have been opposed to what they do not understand. This is nothing new." [Nene adds, "In case anyone is wondering, Daniel Hobbs is in stable condition. And no, he's not getting any form of punishment. In fact, I've heard rumors of his being awareded a medal for bravery."] (Good for him. Maybe that'll get him laid for once.) ( Next time you meet him, maybe o/~ ) * Luana mumbles, still curled up, "They- they award medals to men who, who make advances on underage girls?" (He can keep dreaming.) ( "Yo, check this out! Shiny medal!" ) ( If they do, I'd like to enlist, please. ) * Keiko thinks back at Luana, ~Harden up, Luana. They don't matter.~ * Roseli makes a slight shrug. Clearly, the injustice of the situation is lost on her. ~He was disgusting. He deserves -nothing-.~ ~People are disgusting. Trust me.~ [Lydia: "Mr. Hobbs is not much older than you. While his character may be questionable, he didn't, in fact, do anything wrong. He even put himself at risk trying to save one of his teammates." She glances at Togo. "He didn't have years of field experience to tell him she would have been able to dodge anyway."] ( Plus he's got nunchaku. ) (The ancient and deadly art of the nunchaku. How can you hate the nunchaku wielder? They're always fun loving.) * Heinrick looks at Luana and shakes his head slightly. He then looks at the other higher ups. "May I be excused for a moment, or is my presence necessary throughout the whole meeting?" Knowing not to show off to get laid in the middle of a fight shouldn't take years of field experience, but if they want to give him a medal, that's their business. [Lydia shakes her head. "We're done here anyway. You're dismissed. Be sure to redouble your efforts at training. Ms. Tavares, please stay behind."] * Roseli nods once. [Nene adds, "You might want to talk to Red Team. Mr. Bernstein was impressed with their performance."] ( Yeah, we'll get right on that, Mmm. Butterfly. ) * Luana cringes and slowly gets up and makes her way out, keeping her posture as small as possible. * Heinrick nods slightly. "Keiko, I will speak with you shortly. Meet me at my office in a half an hour." [Lydia nods. "It's true, they have more training and field experience than you do."] * Keiko picks up her duck and gets to her feet slowly, glances to Lydia a moment, then walks out. She does look over at Heinrick to acknowledge the recieved message, but that's it. ( Let me get Rose + log in #Tenintwuble ) * Heinrick walks out, arms behind back. * Togo gathers up his things and heads out, catching up to Luana. "Take a half hour to calm down, then meet me in the training room. We're gonna step up your target practice a bit." (Can I watch?) ( mmmm. No! Hahah! ) (Sadface) * Luana nods and continues. ( You can watch here. ) * Keiko thinks at Luana, before she wanders off, ~They don't matter, Luana. They're stupid.~ [You head out!]
