[Day: Friday, January 30th. Time: 1:20 a.m.] (... oh, brutal.) (Gah.) [You were possibly asleep! Now, you're not! You have been SUMMONED to the briefing room, whether you're at the Weiss building or (in the guardians case, perhaps) not. Nene and Lydia are there to greet you.] [Start!] (Guardians have housing outside of the building. Were they called or something?) ( Yep. ) (We do? :D) (Summoned as in, please come quickly, or GET HERE NOW!) (Summoned as in magically appeared in the briefing room. Without clothes.) ( Mmm, the former from Nene, the latter from Lydia. ) (Yeah, we do. Do you see rooms for the guardians anywhere on the facility map? ;P) ( It's a summon for a mission, obviously, so you have time to change :P ) ( Damn, I knew sleeping in these GI Joe pajamas would catch up with me. ) (Oh, good. Time to change.) * Togo is in the room already, stretching in a corner. * Luana shows up in a red shirt and black slacks, somewhat bleary-eyed. She's trying to finger-comb her hair into some sense of order while she sits. ( Luana's a minor character on the Enterprise. ) * Roseli comes walking in, fully clothed (and armed) and with a large mug of what's probably industrial strength coffee in one hand. She takes a long drink, then comments, "I thought I was getting a month." (...CRAP, I'm wearing a red shirt!) (That's what you get for dressing when half asleep.) (Seriously.) [Lydia shakes her head. "The terrorists decided otherwise."] * Roseli is, btw, wearing that snazzy new coat she got for Christmas. * Heinrick comes in as well, seeming by all appearances to look the same as usual. He, like Rose, is also with coffee though, but knowing Heinrick it's just as likely to be decaf to spite people. Great. Did you call Jamie? * Togo stops stretching his back and starts on the leg stretches. Yay stretchy achilles tendons! * Keiko is more than just a little bleary eyed, she's apparently part of the walking dead. Her hair is a mess, it still has a green ribbon through it from yesterday, but she's wearing a black dress. At least black and green don't go badly together! She didn't forget the duck, though. [She continues! "I'll get right down to it. As you probably know, Red team is away on an assignment already. Section 1 only had one team available, and they haven't been heard from for almost twenty minutes. Like it or not, you've got to go into the field tonight."] * Keiko falls into the nearest chair and pinches her own cheek, wincing slightly. * Heinrick looks about to say something but stops as Lydia continues. How rude, not even a "thanks for coming" (You're getting paid to come!) * Luana mumbles, "Ah, I forgot to get my Glock." (Not enough for a 1:30am run. :P) * Roseli takes another healthy gulp of coffee, then eyes the half-dead Keiko. "Coffee?" she asks, offering. * Togo touches his toes. Or comes reasonably cose to doing so. "I'll lend you one of mine, Luana." Thank you. * Heinrick shakes his head slightly. "I suppose they would not be terrorists if they had consideration for normal people's sleeping patterns." He then looks at Lydia. "What do we know of the situation?" * Keiko looks to Rose and thinks it over a moment, before shaking her head and mumbling, "No... don't really like caffeine." [Lydia gives a briefing. "Approximately thirty minutes ago, a Zukunft lab was attacked by unknown assailants. Communications have ceased, and we don't know what's they're after. Nor do we know who's attacking, although we can make a good guess."] * Roseli shrugs and works on draining the rest of her coffee. * Heinrick nods. "Does Sherman have a usual target other than just the facilities themselves?" (Where's Jamie, for the record? Since we share a room an' all.) ( Not there! ) ["Transports, occasionally. But primarily, no."] Then it may be nothing more than that. Any notice on strength or abilities of the assailants by survivors? Or, failing that, the same in his most recent raids? [Lydia nods to Togo.] * Keiko rubs one of her temples and squeezes her eyes shut. ["Again, we have no way of knowing who of his crew is even there."] (Heinrick never shared crew info with the rest of the guardians. ;P He's such a jerk.) (Heinrick rolls with his own crew, dog.) (It's in the files! ;P) (Where?) Best guess. [Lydia shakes her head. "It could be anyone."] (http://besm.sandwich.net/MC4/logs/mc4-019.txt) (The following one as well.) So you are saying none of the survivors reported any of the abilities being used then. ["Nothing beyond what was in those files we gave you a week ago."] (Was anything in those files shared in session or was it all done offscreen? :P) (Because the latter makes it awfully hard on the guardians.) (It was all offscreen because you took the files and walked off.) (So Brett may want to share the information that was shared amongst all the guardians and not to the players of said guardians. ^^;) ( There's not much else to say, really. Nothing you haven't heard before. ) (Fine, but if we notice someone from the files, we do expect reminders.) ( K ) Well, if there's no specific information you can give us, let's get going and find out for ourselves. * Heinrick gives a brief nod then glances at Nene. "You are supervising this mission as well, I take it?" * Togo stands up with a couple of audible pops in his back, and rolls his shoulders forwards and back. [Lydia nods. "Be careful. We don't know what happened to the section 1 team. But at the same time, we have to try to capture one of them, find out more information on Sherman."] [Nene nods. "Yes. I'll send you a schematic of the lab in a few minutes."] [Lydia adds, "One more thing. Jamie will not be going with you."] Not surprised. * Heinrick nods. "That would be helpful. Thank you." [Nene nods. "I'll see what other information I can find for you, as well."] Well, it's our own building, so there shouldn't be any automated defenses we'd need her to bypass. *pauses; turns to Lydia* Right? * Roseli drains the rest of her mug and sets it on the briefing room table. She takes out some gum and pops it into her mouth. [Lydia nods. "That should be the case, assuming the defenses are working properly."] * Heinrick finishes his own coffee and sets it down taking a breath. He's feeling his jacket for his pipe but no time for that, sadly. ... so at least a 30% chance they'll start trying to kill us. Gotcha. *chuckles* * Roseli chews busily. "Let's go." * Roseli glances at Heinrick, then hands him a stick of gum. ( FF time! ) * Keiko runs her fingers through her hair with a wince before standing and shuffling to the go! * Heinrick chuckles slightly and takes it this time. "Thank you." * Togo gets up and hands Luana his Desert Eagle pistol as he heads out of the room. (Big gun!) * Luana gives up on her hair and just makes it short and curly instead. She takes the gun with some surprise. "...-Yes.- Thank you!" She hurries up and out the door, holstering the gun as she goes. No problem. * Roseli heads out. * Heinrick does too. To the BlitzMobile! ( the .44, not a .50, for the record. =P ) (Aww.) (Still, big'un.) [Time: 1:48 a.m. You arrive at the Zukunft facility, in the industrial part of the city. The structure, surrounded by a thick wall, looks kind of like a hairdryer: A long rectangular wing running east-west connects to a large round center, which connects to a perpendicular wing running north-south. It's difficult to tell how big the building is, but both wings appear to be at least three stories tall, while the round part appears to (round part appears to) round part appears to be about five. There's a barrier-style gate leading into and out of the complex, complete with tire shredders. There's no guard in the guard booth, though.] [The Zukunft logo is printed in large, shiney letters on the side of the long wing.] [The whole area is pretty well lit with arc lights. ] ( And I think that's all I need to say right now! ) * Keiko fell asleep pretty much immediately on the trip over. z_z * Luana spent most of the trip smiling sleepily at the Desert Eagle. (Hee hee I got a gun hee hee I got a gun oh wait the safety's off click hee hee I got a gun.) * Togo spent a good part of the trip reminding Luana to watch the kick on the gun. * Roseli looks out the window at the building. She was silent the entire trip, and she doesn't have a ward to watch, so it's all good. (I assume Nene is with us?) ( No >.> ) (Oh, thought she was supervising. All right.) * Heinrick glances at the building as well. He probably spent most of the trip either driving or looking at the schematics. ( In spirit, she is. Over the earpieces ) ( She is supervising. At a distance! ) [I'm not describing the schematics for you :P ] (I wasn't asking you to. >.>) * Roseli parks the carvan, because as of now, she's been driving! Haha. "This is the place." She gets out. * Luana holsters her gun again and gets out. (And yes, this is why I gave the choice. Rose is much the better choice for driving.) * Heinrick gets out as well and goes towards the back to wake up his ward. * Togo hops out, drawing his SMG as he takes in the surroundings. [Togo sees what I just described.] * Keiko is asleep, left arm curled around her duck. She blinks herself awake, when disturbed, and murmurs tiredly, She groans and stands up, getting out. * Roseli glances at Togo's gun. "Don't pack small, do you?" * Heinrick looks at Keiko curiously. "" Anything worth shooting is worth shooting to the point of complete and utter ridiculousness. * Luana give a solid nod to that statement. (*gives) ( And for the record, Togo's SMG is basically a machine pistol. And... http://authorpics.improfanfic.com/Authorpics/JesseLman/Togo's%20Weapons/ ) [The building looms ominously.] Not always. But mostly. (The revolver is soooo out of place with the rest of that stuff.) * Roseli glances at the carvan. ( It has a backstory! A small one, granted. But still. ) * Keiko glances to Heinrick, then replies, <'Till I don't feel so much tired.> She takes a deep breath and adds, * Togo looks to Roseli. "For the record, is this a shoot-first-talk-second mission, or are we trying to keep the violence to a minimum?" * Heinrick nods. "" * Heinrick then pulls out his case from his coat and readies his throwing knives. "Shouldn't you be asking our leader those questions, Togo?" * Roseli shrugs. "No orders. Ask Nene." * Keiko looksa at him funny, then sighs. * Heinrick then nods to Keiko. "" He offers to help her up and steady her. * Roseli heads towards the facility. "But it's terrorists. Money's on use force, capture if possible, dead not a big deal." She speaks into the mouthpiece. "Nene: orders on force?" * Keiko is already standing, but she does grip his hand for a moment before letting go and walking forward, slowly. [Nene responds! "Try to capture them if possible, but if not, stopping them is more important."] * Heinrick nods and starts heading quietly towards the facility, replacing his case for now. * Roseli radios back: "Thought so. Got it." She tags along behind Heinrick. "Point of entry?" * Luana follows whomever's leading. (Where are there entrances, Brett?) [The facility is eerily... there. Nene speaks, "There's three. The main entrance in front, a door near the loading bay in back, and one on the roof."] Well, I don't forsee us getting on the roof any time soon. And the main entrance is far too obvious. * Togo nods. "Loading bay it is." It is a shame that Jamie is not here to provide backup in case they try to escape through the front entrance though. No good to us now. * Roseli heads to the loading bay. * Heinrick heads that way as well. They don't have enough man and womenpower to split up anyway. * Luana looks over to Keiko as she walks. ~Awake yet?~ * Keiko follows after and thinks back, ~No, no, yes, no, and no. I had a long night a night ago.~ [You go to the loading bay! A mack truck sits outside an elevated platform. Two large garage doors are on the rear of the building, both closed. There's also a smaller people-sized door near those.] * Luana gives an amused smile. ~I can tell. I don't remember asking enough questions to warrant that many answers.~ * Keiko thinks back, ~They're all different answers.~ ~I think it was a joke. Tired.~ * Roseli goes for the door. OH NO. ~Ah.~ ( Dire weasal trap! ) [It's locked!] Togo. * Roseli steps aside and speaks to Nene, vaguely amused, "Could've given us a key." (Electronic lock?) ( Nope! Standard key-type ) ["Sorry. We didn't have time. Surely one of you can pick the lock? It's not complicated."] * Keiko digs the fingernails of her empty into the wrist of her duck-holding hand. She squeezes her eyes tightly and shakes slightly. * Togo nods and pulls out his lock picks. *pickpickpickthelock* (o/~) 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-3) and gets a natural 14 for a result of 11. * Heinrick speaks back to Nene. "Or melt it. But I was assuming minimal property damage." ( ... yeah, no ) ( May I try again after an embarassed mea culpa? =P ) [Togo not-does unlock the lock.] [Everyone laughs at him, then he gets to try again.] (Unless Nene approves acid. It'd be faster!) * Togo frowns, then holds up the tools he's using. "... wrong ones." *grabs something else from his kit, tries again* 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-3) and gets a natural 15 for a result of 12. ["If you have no other choice, then do it. But try to keep damage to a minimum, especially once inside. That facility houses some expensive equipment."] ( HA. ) [That's not the right tool either!] ... okay, melt this goddamn thing. * Togo mutters curses as he puts away his lockpicks. * Heinrick sighs and pulls out his chemicals. "Time *is* of the essense after all." He pours some good ol' acid on the bad ol' lock. [The lock melts! Better hope that doesn't come out of your paycheck.] * Heinrick puts away his chemicals. If it does, then it's still probably less of a blow than losing the pursuit because of time spent on a damned lock. * Heinrick gestures to Togo. "After you? * Keiko draws in a sharp breath through her nose and lets go of her wrist, reopening her eyes to see the lock gone. She drifts forward to stand behind Heinrick. * Togo carefully opens the door (no melty the hand, thankyouverymuch), then steps in, scanning the room left, right and up. [The room large and full of boxes! There's a door on the far wall, leading into the facility.] * Roseli gestures to the door. * Luana goes in. (Good thing Ten 1.0 isn't here.) (Amen, amen.) * Heinrick heads in as well, staying near Keiko in a guardianly fashion. * Togo sweeps the room a bit (figuratively, not literally), then heads for the door and checks if it opens. * Keiko just drifts after, feeling out for people mentally. She doesn't want to be left behind, but she doesn't do the frontline thing. All the time, anyway. * Roseli walks after the others, chewing gum but not kicking ass. [You go in! The corridor you enter looks completely different from the loading area. It's brightly lit from lights in the corners of the walls and floor and ceiling. The walls themselves are a blue steel color. Hell, they're probably actually blue steel. The corridor goes inwards for about thirty feet, then branches in a T-intersection.] * Roseli heads on down, sneaky like, to check out each way. (How far do each of the branches go before we can't see them anymore or they turn again?) [There are only a few rooms to the right at the intersection. To the left, the corridor continues for several meters, ending at a door that presumably goes to the round part of the building. There are doorways at regular intervals all along the walls.] [There's nothing to sneak from! Yet.] * Togo motions for the others to follow as he walks against the left wall down the hallway, then peers down the two ends of the T and presumably sees what the GM just described. * Roseli whispers, "Heinrick, which way? Your estimation." * Heinrick keeps an ear out as he approaches the intersection. He glances both ways and then focuses a little more on the left. * Luana follows until further notice! Well. It would take less time to check the right and eliminate that as a possibility. [No zombies attack.] (Were there any important rooms in the schematic?) ( Yes! Labs are on the third floor of either wing and experimental areas are in the round section. Major offices are on the second floor.] ) [Down here are the rooms for the lower-level employees. Probably not too important.] * Heinrick speaks in the same tone that Roseli used. He continues, "I do lean more towards the left as a possibility however. From my recollection, the experimental areas are more focused there." Sounds good. * Roseli goes left! * Togo nods, and heads left, opening doors as necessary and keeping an ear out for any violence/pained moans/sheep. [You head to the left, passing exciting things like a break room, bathrooms, and more!] * Heinrick turns that way as well, letting those with the more heavy artillery take point. [Since I know all this sneaking around is pretty boring and you guys are really looking forward to some action (or at least I am, ha!) you suddenly find yourself in a nasty situation. Blast shutters drop in front and behind you, trapping you in a tiny 10x 10' box.] * Luana immediately takes a defensive stance and puts her back to the wall. [And one of the walls comes to life! Not... not really. But it does turn out to actually be a large monitor. You didn't realize it until it turned on.] Ah, that 30%... ( Sec. ) * Heinrick sighs disgustedly. "Togo, I suppose this answers your question about defenses." He starts in the comms but then glances at the "monitor" instead. * Luana turns around and yawns as she sees the screen. * Roseli turns to eye the monitor. [A man's face appears on the screen. A familiar man. He's in his mid-thirties, ruggedly handsome, with something of an unshaven stubble. It's only now that you finally see him in decent lighting that you realize he's Asian. He's in a room with a number of monitors and computers. The control center, Heinrich realizes from the schematics. "You again. I knew it'd only be a matter of time before Section 2 sent its dogs."] ( Hooo... Did that get through? ) (Yes.) * Togo pokes around looking for a control panel for the doors, since staring at the screen won't do a damn bit of good. [There's no control panel!] * Keiko looks at everyone turn towards the monitor, watches it for a few seconds, then mumbles, "Find wires. Open doors." * Luana nods and starts checking around for wires and such. ( Hearing checks! ) 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8-2) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 6. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. (Make by 4.) 2d-4 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d6-4) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 1. (By one.) (d8, Heiny!) 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Luana (2d8-4) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 3. (Oh! Thanks!) 2d8-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 3. 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-4) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 6. ( Made by 4 ) (Made by 5.) (And he's familiar from what exactly?) [Those of you who made it recieve a severe ear ache when static suddenly erupts from your commlinks. You can hear bits of Nene's voice, but can't make anything out.] (Files or previous encounters?) ( From the last time you fought him, session 19 and on ) ( And from files ) (Yes but which of them was he?) Ah goddammit! *pulls out earpieces* * Luana yelps and pulls her earpiece out, but continues looking for anything remotely related to exiting. * Keiko winces and says, more coherently, "Good alarm." [He speaks into a walkie-talkie. Talk about ancient. "There's one missing. The electronic scanner. Keep your eyes open."] * Heinrick makes a face before taking off his headphones, looking stallidly at the monitor. "An excellent trick. Of course you'd be expecting resistance." 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 11. [The man nods. "I knew you'd show up eventually. Although this is the first time you've brought Togo with you." He scowls. "Nothing but a hypocrite in the end, aren't you, Togo?"] Friend of yours? Never heard his voice before. * Heinrick shakes his head and reaches up as if he's adjusting a collar. "It just continues to get better." I'm decently well known in the certain circles, though. [He chuckles. "You don't remember me?"] * Keiko licks her lips and glances to Heinrick for a moment. Sorry, I'm bad with faces. * Keiko thinks at Heinrick, ~ Yes? ~ * Heinrick rubs his nose a little. "It means, at minimum, that they know who is joining us before we do." He sends to Keiko. ~Get in touch with Togo. See if he can find and shoot out a camera. He has to be monitoring us somehow.~ [He looks to a side as he does something with his hand, presumably hitting some switches. "You remember Dante though, right? Or did you forget the man you murdered twenty years ago?"] * Keiko relays at Togo, ~Heinrick thinks you need to find a camera to shoot...~ (HIT HIM WITH A PIPE) (He was fucking nuts! Of course people killed him!) Dante, the moron who's brilliant plan was to summon Lucifer onto this plane? Yeah, that's the kinda thing you remember. (whose) * Togo thinks back. ~My search skills suck. My glasses don't give me much detail. Get the others to find it, and I'll do what I can.~ [He scowls. "Dante wanted nothing more than to eliminate Lucifer once and for all. He wanted to change the world for the better. Make no mistake, you murdered him solely out of fear of the unknown. Nothing more."] ( whose. right. Sorry. ) (*sobs* Another serious crazy...) He wanted. To summon. LUCIFER. TO EARTH. Lucifer would've used him as a goddamn prophylactic. ["He wanted to go back in time and slay Lucifer after the Fall, when he was at his weakest!"] ["Dante spent his entire life preparing for that moment, so he could save his mother. Who, by the way, you've also doomed to eternal damnation."] [He checks a few more monitors, hits some more switches.] Put aside the fact that it wouldn't have worked. Time travel never works like you intend. Plus, IT NEVER WOULD HAVE WORKED. *pauses* And she knew the score when she got into the game, same as we all do. * Heinrick glances at the monitor. He knows computers! Can he figure out what he might be doing? * Roseli glances around the room. "Nice that you could have this get together. What's your name again?" ["How the hell would you know if it would have worked? There are no records of time travel, unsuccessful or not."] [Unfortunately, Heinrick can't see what the man is doing. He can just barely see his shoulder move.] * Heinrick adjusts his glasses. "Seems like a pretty large risk for something so trivial." * Keiko clenches one of her fists and mutters, "Didn't need to go places for more crazy." * Keiko walks over near Luana. ~Found nothing?~ ["The elimination of Lucifer is trivial? Mankind taking his fate into his own hands is trivial?"] (Can you give me more info on our room, Brett?) ( It's square! You're stuck between two walls and two shutters. There's a light in each corner between the wall and ceiling and floor.] ) ~Nothing.~ * Togo rubs his neck. "So, what, were you Dante's teen sidekick? Kid brother? Just a fan?" ( And one of the walls is a monitor. ) (Is the other wall just drywall?) Summoning him in the first place seems a large risk if you do not know the result of the consequences, yes. (Okay. No cameras, then?) ( Not that you can see! ) ( And yes. ) ~There's always trying to break through the other wall. Could you please suggest it to Togo?~ * Keiko leans against the door. ~Which other wall?~ ~Lots of walls.~ [He scowls. "He was my friend, you muderous bastard." Then he chuckles. "Of course, look who I'm talking to. Didn't Ricardo Valmont take your eyes? And now you're a peon for Zukunft. They're no different from Asahara!"] ~The one that isn't a shutter or a tv screen.~ * Keiko thinks at Togo, ~Can you break walls? Or help someone break a wall? Luana isn't finding anything.~ Zunkunft may be doing some sketchy things, but they're a far cry from Asahara. *pauses, knocks on the non-moniter wall to hear how thick/hollow it is* * Keiko then thinks at Luana, ~If you need me, shake really really really hard.~ She slumps more heavily against the wall. ( Brett? ) ["That's bullshit and you know it! Zukunft's genetic modification technology was taken directly from Asahara. Thousands suffered under their experiments before they got it 'right' enough to release to the public. If you don't believe me, check the labs below this building."] * Luana thinks, alarmed, ~Don't go to sleep! What if something happens?~ And so this gives you the right to...what exactly? * Heinrick glances to his ward and helps steady her. [The wall seems thick all the way, but only maybe... 2 ft.? I dunno what the standard is.] * Togo shakes his head. "Like I said. Their hands ain't clean. But you're Dante's friend, so you should be fine with collateral damage in pursuit of a basically noble goal." ["Please. You think I'm going to give away my plans to you?"] * Heinrick smirks slightly and shrugs his shoulders. "Of *course* not. You're *far* too intelligent for *that.*" (If it's a normal wall, it'll be really easy to break through. Walls dent if you throw -pennies- at them. And it's usually wall, some space inbetween, and another wall.) [He scowls. "You're such a goddamn hypocrite, Togo. I'll tell you something. Normally, we try to keep casualties to a minimum on these raids. But tonight, I think maybe we'll just see how you can handle this building's security system."] ( Well, it's a metal wall ) ( And solid. But not overly thick ) (I thought you said it was made of drywall!) ( ... not the shutter. The WALL. ) (...you just said...yeah.) * Keiko is slack in Heinrick's hands. The weird thing is that she's still holding onto the duck. ( I said blue steel when you entered ._. ) (He did mention the walls being steely, yeah.) (But earlier you said one of the walls was drywall...) ( Well, it's dry! XD ) (....) (...not funny, Brett.) ( Well, it doesn't matter, because I can break through relatively thin metal. ) * Togo pulls out his machine gun, and points it at the non-moniter wall. "I've always wanted to try this. Cover your ears." *tries to shoot a doorway into the wall, Looney-Tunes-style* ( Armor penetrating! ) * Luana covers her ears as soon as he points the gun at the wall. ( Gimme a... Hmmm. ) * Roseli covers her ears and dives, yelling, "Going to get us all killed!" * Heinrick thinks Togo's *insane*...and that's saying something. But he takes some cover. ( High five for creativity? ) ( You know.... I'm not sure. ) (Sounds like luck to me.) ( Yeah, luck sounds good. ) (Or maybe architecture.) (It's not like he'll miss. Luck is soul.) ( It's not missing that's the problem ) ( It's simple. Thin metal walls. 20 point armor piercing. ) ( It's ricochets :P ) ( ... 20 point armor piercing. You said the walls were thin metal. ) (He said they were blue steel. He didn't say they were thin, necessarily.) ( I said they're not especially thick. I'm not saying you can't do it, but I'd think ricochets would be a possibility. ) ( Okay. When I knocked, were they thin, or were they thick? ) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8) and gets a natural 12 for a result of 12. ( They were solid, about 1 ft- 1 1/2 ft. ) ( 1 ft of solid thick metal? ) (That's thick.) ( I don't know ) ( Average wall thickness ) ( That's a damn nuke bunker. =p ) ( Urgh. ) ( They're as thick as regular walls, only they're made of steel. ) (That's... what, 4 inches max?) ( I guess? I don't know wall thickness very well. ) ( Okay, so retcon the shooting through. Not gonna shoot through a coupla inches of metal. ) (Yeah, walls aren't very thick. 4-6" I'd say.) ( Ok, then, we'll go with that. ) (Thank god. Why do you think Rose and Heinrick were panicking? :P) ( Because I thought the wall was drywall. =P ) (Okay, rewind to BEFORE Togo was going to blow the wall open and kill us.) ( Sorry, I'm not in the best condition tonight ) ( s'okay ) (Retcon what I said about breaking through as well, since I thought it was drywall.) (It's fine, Brett. The drywall was a slip. But still after that, Togo really shouldn't have shot.) ( Alright, then ) * Roseli eyes the wall, then comments, "Heinrick?" * Heinrick looks at Roseli. "Yes?" Take out the wall. * Togo turns back to the moniter. "So I guess this is the part where you open the shutters and force us to wade through the deadly defenses of this place?" * Heinrick looks at her a little strangely. "With chemicals?" [It's about at that time that you hear a door open. The man on the monitor looks off to the side as a woman speaks. "We've got a problem. There's a third party here."] ( It's Racer X! ) (Hahaha.) [He scowls, speaking into the walkie talkie. OMG /ignore Togo! "We've got trouble. How far are you?" Pause. "Good. Hurry up, we're pulling out."] (We got saved by Deus Ex Machina? Suck.) * Roseli eyes Heinrick. "Probably wouldn't work. How about just take it out." 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. ( Who says you got saved? ) * Heinrick looks at Roseli and chuckles a little bit. "Well. I could try." He slowly takes off his coat. "Keiko? If you will." (Handing her his coat if that wasn't clear.) ( Actually you've just been dumped out of the frier and into the... uh, deep frier? ) * Roseli pulls out her gun and proceeds to systematically shoot out each of the lights. But not the monitor, so there's still the glow from that. (Yeah, last time this happened, it was ugly.) (Stupid not-zombies.) (afk for maybe five, sorry) [The man hits a few more buttons. He looks at a monitor, then scowls. "Shit. Sorry Togo. Looks like there's a bigger monster in this castle than either of us is ready to deal with."] * Keiko doesn't take the coat because she's slipped into an apparent slumber. (Retcon. Didn't see that she was actually passed out.) (Okay!) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 10. Well, I'm sure we'll have time to grab a beer and catch up sometime soon. * Heinrick looks at Roseli and chuckles a little bit. "Well. I could try." He moves his arms to give Roseli Keiko. "Take care of my ward then?" ["If you live that long, I'd love to catch up with you. Long enough to avenge Dante, at least." He shuts off the monitor.] (back) * Roseli holsters her gun and takes Keiko. "Any time." And she lifts her into a fireman's carry over her left shoulder. * Keiko gets carried! This happens a lot! * Togo falls silent for a moment. "Well, I gotta admit I wasn't really expecting that one to come back and bite me in the ass. Usually, 'stopping Lucifer from walking the Earth' doesn't earn one enemies." * Heinrick takes off his coat and tosses it aside on the floor. He tests the wall first by knocking on it to find the weakest point. Once he finds that, he bunches up his arms and proceeds to bash into it using his left shoulder. Earned you any over twenty years? My fair share. S'a rough business. * Roseli shrugs. * Luana exclaims suddenly, "That's amazing!" then covers her mouth abruptly. ( Gimme a body roll, Heinrick. +4 due to steel. ) (Do it man, yeah!) 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. [Heinrick hits the wall, not having any major effect on it.] * Heinrick looks disappointed, but not hurt. Even though bashing against a wall looks painful, he's not really wincing. He tries it again. Want help with that? Or a sledgehammer? * Heinrick speaks as he bashes. "It might be helpful, yes." 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 11. (Dicey's lovin' that average roll.) * Heinrick stops for a moment. "Does not seem to be enough. Togo, you had a sledgehammer you say?" * Togo pulls a sledgehammer out of his coat, hands it to heinrick, and then pulls out one for himself. "Shall we?" * Heinrick nods and takes it in his hand, swinging hard. 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-2) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 2. ( What's the roll, brett? ) (I'd assume same. +4 for steel, -2 for sledge.) * Togo winds up and swings as well. 2d8+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8+2) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 7. ( made by 2 ) ( Right. ) [And together you bust a small hole in the wall! It should be easier (+2!) to break through now.] * Heinrick hefts up the sledge for another swing. ( So just a straight body roll now ) 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-4) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 5. (Still makies.) * Togo rubs his hands together, picks the hammer back up, and swings. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8) and gets a natural 12 for a result of 12. ( Nope. I'm puny. ;_; ) [Heinrick knocks a hole in the wall! ... Just as the east-facing shutter opens up.] May I state an opinion? * Roseli turns, her right hand aiming the gun straight through where the east shutter used to be. [Nothing is there!] * Togo drops his hammer and whips out his SMG as he pivots and faces... bubkis. * Heinrick sets down the sledgehammer and then shakes his head. Some skin is torn off of his left arm at the moment and beneath it is some exposed metal. He looks it over. "Well, some adjustments still need to be made. I hadn't thought anyone had noticed though, Miss Tavares." He smiles at her. I pay attention. Through the hole. Togo, cover us. You do at that. That is why it is a pleasure to work with you. * Togo nods, and motions for everyone to go. * Luana goes through the hole! * Roseli heads on in, Keiko over shoulder. * Heinrick gets his coat and makes his way through the hole. "You had an opinion, Miss Hall?" It doesn't matter anymore. * Heinrick nods and lets it drop at that. * Roseli holsters her gun to put one of the earpieces to her ear and find out if the static's still there. [It is. How bloody annoying.] * Togo provides cover. With GUNS. [Oh yeah! You're now in what's basically six offices in one room.] [That is, there's six desks. Plus a potted plant. But no windows.] * Heinrick looks for another way out. [There's only the hole you came in through and a door.] * Roseli removes the earpiece and glances around the cubicles. "Think we should head for the control room." * Heinrick nods to Roseli. "Granted. Any ideas on how to get to the fifth floor then?" * Roseli deadpans, "Stairs." [A man appears outside the hole you guys made.] * Luana aims a gun at the man. [He's bald, wearing only an old white shirt and slacks.] [And he starts climbing through.] * Heinrick deadpans back. "If I hadn't had you here, how would I have ever thought of that on my own?" Need me for something. * Roseli turns, training her gun on the bald dude. "Name and business." [He doesn't answer. A woman appears behind him, though. Also bald, similarly dressed. May as well roll init.] 2d8+13 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Luana (2d8+13) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 24. 2d8+14 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8+14) and gets a natural 13 for a result of 27. 2d8+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8+9) and gets a natural 12 for a result of 21. (Recognize them from anything?) 2d8+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8+8) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 16. [Togo, Luana, Roseli, Heinrick, Man, Woman] [Togo!] 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8-2) and gets a natural 13 for a result of 11. (ROLL BELOW 10 YOU PIECE OF JUNK.) (OH MY GOD.) * Togo frowns. "I think might be what that guy and his people were running away from." *fires a burst from his SMG at the guy* 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-3) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 6. ( Made ) [Togo shoots the guy! Yet even though he's clearly bleeding, he continues to come.] [Luana!] * Luana follows her guardian's lead and shoots the guy. 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Luana (2d8-3) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 8. (Fail by one) [Luana doesn't shoot the guy. Not so much.] [Rose!] * Roseli yells as they fire, "They could be test subjects! Try to incapacitate until verification!" * Roseli hands Keiko to Heinrick in a hurry and keeps her gun trained on them. (Readied action to fire if they actually try to hurt one of us, because right now they're just sort of advancing. For all I know, they might want the pogo stick Togo's got hiding in that jacket.) ( "Poooooooooooooooooooooooogoooooooooooooooooooooooo." ) (XD) [Heinrick!] * Heinrick catches Keiko and reaches into his coat, throwing out some tear gas vials at the two baldie-zombies feet. Because irritants are rarely a bad idea. ( *spinspinspinmmmpogospinspinspin* ) 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-3) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 1. [Heinrick hits! And yet even though their eyes turn red and tears flow, they keep coming without so much as flinching.] [The man pulls himself through and launches at...] 1d5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (1d5) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 4. [Roseli! Who gets to try to shoot him first.] [Meanwhile, the woman cralws through the opening, too.] * Roseli fires at him, all right. 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8-3) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 4. (And hit.) [Roseli shoots him, too! Yet he keeps going! He reaches out, attempting to grab her. Gimme a grapple check, Rose! (Grapple as in vs. him in an unarmed attack, or grapple as in unarmed defense?) ( Unarmed defense ) 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8-1) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 3. (Made it.) ( Pretty sure attack is used when you're already grappled ) (Yup. ^^) [Rose avoides the man's stumbling lunge.] [Togo!] * Togo shoots the guy again, trying to put the guy down. "I'd say these things feel no pain, but they're definately feeling it. They're just ignoring it." 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Togo (2d8-3) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 3. ( made ) * Keiko stirs on Heinrick's shoulder, groaning, "The... the Ravenman..." Keiko! Get a read on these! [Togo shoots him up so bad his head explodes!... And yet he's still going! That's not all. Something pushes its way up from his neck. Something sinewie and flexible. It opens two yellow eyes in asymmetrical points, and sprouts flexible appendages with blade-like claws on the end.] * Heinrick glances down at Keiko for a moment, curious. "Ravenman?" He then glances at Roseli for a moment. He might be upset if he hadn't given the exact same order he was going to give on his init. :P ( Ruh roh. We're about to break keiko again ) [And that's just its head!] (s/first he/she) [Anyhow, Luana! Angry head monster attack! Oh noes!] * Luana 's eyes widen, but she just shoots the monster thing. 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Luana (2d8-3) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 8. (Wtf Dicey.) * Heinrick then looks at the things and then simply goes, "Ah." * Keiko looks at the beings and murmurs, "They're monsters... made by foolish humans..." ( No! Bad Luana! BURN IT WITH CLENSING FIRE! =P ) [Luana misses! D'oh!] [Roseli!] ... okay, I can understand running from that. * Keiko falls off Heinrick's shoulder, stumbling as she hits the floor. 2d8+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8+7) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 12. (Lousy init!) (But on the bright side, I rolled less than 10!) ( It's almost 2, and I can't go much longer. ) ( Maybe we should end after this round? ) (Kill them both! One shot, two kills!) ( Waiting on Rose ) * Roseli presses a few buttons on her bracelet. "Can you control or calm them?" she asks before trying to dart around the man and knock him upside the head with the butt of her handgun. *** Signoff: Luana (Read error: Connection reset by peer) *** Luana (WD@24.152.198.19.res-cmts.eph.ptd.net) has joined channel #MC4 (Rectify that; I'm just punching him in the back of the head. XP Easier for me to do.) 2d8+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8+2) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 9. (Woot, made it.) [Rose smacks it upside the... whatever passes for a head now. There's a screeching noise and it staggers back, clutching at the spot it was hit with it's human hand.] ( Well, both hands are human. It's just hard to remember that it's human from the neck down. ) ( Or looks human, anyhow ) [Heinrick!] * Heinrick scowls slightly as he pulls out one of his knives as he makes his way back towards the door. "We're wasting time here. Keiko, Roseli is right. See if you can calm them." He readies it for any that come near him or Keiko but doesn't throw just yet. (I will once we hit init 12!) [The man's blade-on-a-whip like appendage lashes out at Rose, who needs to make a defense roll. Meanwhile, the woman grabs at...] d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (d6) and gets a natural 2 for a result of 2. [Keiko!] (So readied action go?) ( Go ahead ) * Heinrick throws to intercept the woman. 2d8-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-3) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 4. [Heinrick hits! The dagger buries itself halfway to the hilt in her shoulder. Yet she barely reacts and reaches for Keiko anyhow.] 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8-2) and gets a natural 13 for a result of 11. (That's a no.) ( Is her shield up? ) (She hasn't had a chance to bring it up.) ( Thennn.... ) 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8-2) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 8. (Fail defense.) (Defend others, Brett?) ( Ok ) 2d8-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-1) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 6. (Make. Pulling Keiko out of the way.) [As for Rose, she gets a nasty cut along her stomach. And if she's wearing her jacket, it's kinda ruined now.] ( Hang on, you're pulling her out of the way? ) ( Nevermind. It's fine ) (Well what are the other options? o.o) * Roseli looks slightly annoyed. "Liked that jacket." (I took the penalty. Block defense gives a bonus but it's a block defense.) ( I'm just too tired to make sense of this rule. ) [And since I'm so tired, I'ma call it here.]
