[Day: Friday, March 1st. Time: 3:15 p.m.] [Keiko was chillin' in Jamie's and Luana's room, but now it's almost time to meet Robert at the Garage. Yay.] [Start] * Keiko has just finished dressing for the garage, which is to say, jeans and a black t-shirt, hair tied back behind her hair, laying her dress on the bed. * Keiko glances over to her duck which floats slowly off of the table towards her, and then she takes it in one hand. Wow. She almost looked normal there for a second. Then a glance to the clock and she starts heading down towards the garage. [As Keiko starts down the hall, she runs across Karin, who's having a conversation with Engelbert Fischer, the archivist who showed up waaaaaay back when, then not for a long time.] (He in charge of the library?) ( Yep ) [Also with Karin is Cyra, looking like she always does.] * Keiko idly scans Englebert and Cyra, although not Karin, while just barely acknowledging the group with a glance. [As Keiko gets closer, she sees Engelbert nod. "I'll get right on that, Miss Oswald."] [Karin says, "Thanks," and he nods again and turns to leave, having once again successfully reminded the world that yes, he exists.] (Anything of note on Englebert/Cyra's (ha ha to that last one) minds?) [All Keiko really gets from him is that Karin asked him for a file from a past case, and that he's going to go find it since she reminds him of his daughter.] [As for Cyra, nothing going on in there.] (Neat detail. Okay!) [It doesn't look like Karin has noticed Keiko, so she can ambush her if she wants.] * Keiko decides not to make a sneak attack roll, instead looking away as she continues heading downstairs to garage it up. [Karin beats her to the punch! Or not punch, but she does begin moving in the same direction Keiko intends to go. Cyra follows.] * Keiko looks up at her and manages a pleasantry of, "Hello Karin." Glance to Cyra. "Cyra." [Karin dives around a corner, drawing her gun and firing a spread, but as surprised as she is by Keiko's sudden maneuver, most of her bullets miss.] [Er, I mean.] [Karin turns about and smiles. "Hey, Keiko. What's up?" Cyra does NOTHING.] * Keiko replies, petting her duck, "Going to the garage," as they walk up to the elevator and Keiko slows to a stop, to hit the button to go to the basement. ["Oh? Us, too." The elevator *ding!*s as it levels up. I mean arrives. The two get on.] * Keiko gets on as well, pressing the button and then leaning against the side. "Mission?" she asks. [Karin shakes her head. "Nah. I just wanted to talk to Robert."] * Keiko blinks, then smiles a bit, although it's not a super big smile. "How... is that going?" [The elevator hits the bottom, and they step out. Karin says, "Well, I haven't been doing much since last week. You know..." She holds up her hands, both palms covered in bandages. "Still not 100% yet." (... how's she feeling? Was that innuendo?) ( Keiko can't tell. She has mind shield. :P ) (Oh, huh.) * Keiko nods a little and says uncertainly, "Right... I just mean that I... hadn't thought to ask recently." ["Well, I'm feeling a lot better, thanks. It only realyl hurts if I try to grasp anything."] [Karin frowns. "That woman was crazy. She was enjoying hurting me." She shudders. "I never thought I could understand Gertrude, but after that..."] * Keiko pets her duck and is silent a moment, then says quietly, "That she is." After a moment she adds, uncertainly, "I meant with Robert, though..." [A couple of guards walk by as you travel down the hall. They wave to Karin, and she waves back. Then she looks at Keiko. "He came to visit me pretty often. Whenever I woke up, he or Iris was always there."] * Keiko nods a little and says quietly, "That is... good of him." [She grins. "And he helped take care of my cat with Iris, too. I'm glad someone was looking out for the little guy."] * Keiko nods slightly and replies, "That is... good." She seems a bit emotionally detached, even as she keeps going towards the garage. ["Yeah, he's a nice guy."] * Keiko grips her duck a bit tighter for a moment, then slowly lets it relax, not adding anything in response to that. [You get to the garage shortly, and Karin holds the door open for Keiko.] * Keiko walks into the garage, the duck floating out of her arms as she looks around for Robert to walk towards him. [The garage is much like it always is, with the mechanics working on various mechanical things. Gimme an awareness check.] 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8-2) and gets a natural 15 for a result of 13. (Clearly, Keiko's out of sorts. (Because that's a miss by three.) [Keiko has no clue. Nooot a clue. Karin and Cyra follow her into the garage. Annnd, gimme another awareness check, just 'cause] 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8-2) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 6. (Make by 4.) [Keiko doesn't spot Robert, but she does spot the other mechanics. In particular because a number of them are casting glances towards you lot.] * Keiko is .... probably used to that, but since she doesn't spot Robert she finally picks a close one and asks, "Where is Robert?" [He blinks. "Huh? Oh, uh..." and he turns towards the mechanic shack in the back, where Robert just comes out, wiping his hands on a rag.] * Keiko follows his view, says flatly, "Thank you," and heads that way. [And ends up meeting him halfway, because he starts moving over when he notices you, too. And so do Karin and Cyra, so now you're all right in the center. Robert grins at Keiko. "Hey, girl." And then at Karin. "And the lovely Miss Oswald. What brings you here?"] (How's he feeling?) ( Happy! ) * Keiko manages a bit more of a smile as she replies, "Hello," then leaves Karin and he to talk to a moment. ( How far away is she going? ) (Only a few feet, unless they make it clear she should be going farther.) (Not like Cyra's walking away!) ( Is she going to listen in? ) (Probably, since there's nothing else to do!) ( Hoookay. ) [Nobody dies in the process!] (Whew! Always a concern.) [Karin smiles. "Hi, Robert. Thanks for visiting me while I was in the infermary."] [He chuckles. "My pleasure. Hey, call me Rob."] [She grins, "Okay, then, Rob... I wanted to ask you for a favor."] [Robert rubs his chin. "Hmm... A favor? I dunno... the way I see it, you're the one in my debt."] [Karin frowns. "Come on... What do you want."] ( They were already dating...) ( Should be a question mark there ) [Robert winks. "Candelight dinner for two?"] [Karin laughs. "Okay. Actually, I'd have done that anyhow if you'd just asked."] * Keiko smiles just slightly to herself. Point: Karin. [Robert sighs. "You mean I just blew a favor on something you were gonna do anyway? Man..." he shifts his weight. "So, what do you want me to do?"] [Karin fidgets a bit. "Uh..."] [Robert blinks. "What? C'mon, out with it, girl."] ["Okay." Karin takes a deep breath.] [Then she says, "If I can get Gertrude's permission, will you let Sebastian work around the garage?"] (... oh god.) [Robert winces. "Oh man... I don't wanna deal with her any more than I have to."] * Keiko turns towards the conversation and her entire body language tenses. [Karin argues. "I see him tinkering with mechanical stuff all the time, so I know he's really good at it. And his birthday's on Monday. It'd make a good present."] [He frowns. "Yeah, but you know how protective she is." He pauses, then adds, "If you can call it 'protective'." ] [Karin: "I'll talk to her. I'm sure she'd agree if it wouldn't cut into his training and she thought it could benefit her."] [He frowns. "I don't know. One mistake and she'll be on my ass."] ["I'll take full responsibility." Karin clasps her hands together. "Please?"] [He sighs. "Okay. I'll give the kid something to do. But that better be one hell of a candelight dinner."] * Keiko already knows where this is going, and so she holds her duck against her chest, crossing her left arm across to hold her right upper arm. [Karin smiles. "Thanks, I knew I could count on you, Rob." She kisses him on the cheek. Then breaks off as the garage erupts into whistles and cheers.] * Keiko gets even tenser as that happens, body shaking slightly. [Karin blushes. "Um, so I'll see you later, okay?" She leaves with Cyra, waving as she goes."] ( - " ) [Robert waves back til she's gone. Then he faces the garage. "Yeah, yeah. You guys get back to work!"] [Then he heads over to Keiko. "'Sup? Ready to work?"] * Keiko looks up at him, forging herself to stop shaking, omstly, before nodding a little and saying quietly, "Y-yeah. Sure." ( And that's pretty much all I got. ) ( Unless you wanna keep going. ) (No, that's cool. The Sebastian thing, though, that'll be something, if we play or mini that.) (Sparks will fly.) ( o/~ ) [End!]
