[You arrive in the office. Hurray. Lydia takes a seat at her desk. "What seems to be on your mind?"] * Heinrick walks up with her and stands in front of her desk. "Thank you." He slackens a little and spreads out his feet before placing his hands behind his back and responding evenly. "I wish to resume my research." [Lydia folds her hands. "Your research," she repeats.] * Heinrick doesn't state anything else at this point. Lydia hasn't really responded yet. [She unfolds her arms after several minutes. "That could be difficult."] * Heinrick lets out a slight breath and tries to look amused, but at this point, it's fairly clear it's a facade. "Control...I had a feeling you would say that." * Heinrick turns towards her, voice calm but pleasantry disappearing from his face. "I did what I believed I had to do. Odette was a threat. She would have gone on to another village. And then they would have still have been in possession of the sword. Still, there was no reason that Ns. Nahr had to die. That was my error in judgment." ["Someone had to die. We knew from the start that if the sword was drawn, someone would die."] It could have been one of the terrorists. That was the plan from the start. [Lydia nods. "It could have. But it wasn't. And as unfortunate as that is, we all knew the risks."] * Heinrick casts his gaze aside and gives a half-smirk. "You know as well as I do that the wards are not the only prisoners here. I may decide that this is worth the risk." [Lydia sighs. "Doctor Engels. We're not against your research. Far from it. If you could find a way to raise the dead, think of the advantage that would give us."] * Heinrick looks hard at her and then hisses as his eyes bore right into her. For the first time, he actually appears *angry*. "If I do my research, it would not be for *your* benefit, Miss Sohn. You do not even realize the implication!" ["So you're not as concerned about Zarina's death as you first appeared to be?"] * Heinrick stares at her. Then starts laughing. Laughing *hard*. "Oh you *are* a piece of work." [Lydia makes no immediate response.] * Heinrick calms himself and smiles, but there's slightly more sinister to his smile. "If Zarina is a tool to be repaired, so be it. But...then again, I would not expect you to understand. I have made my request. It is up to you whether it is to be fulfilled or not." * Heinrick straightens up slightly. "And if you have no further information, I will take my leave." ["Zarina was an agent who died heroically serving her country. But I'm through with this conversation. If you'd like to continue to believe I am the shortsighted one, you're free to do so. As long as it does not affect your work, I really don't care what you think of me."] [Lydia stands up. "That said, I have an assignment for you and for Roseli. That is, if you're not opting to resign and have your memory wiped."] * Heinrick nods and smirks. "Let me know if my request goes through then." He then glances at her and glances down, his smirk growing wider. "And...not at this point. You know full well the consequences for me go beyond a simple mind wipe." [She nods. "As I understand, the contract your under obligates you to work for us until we have determined you have served reasonably. You've only been here less than half a year, Doctor."] * Heinrick throws his hands in the air and sighs annoyed. "My dear Control. You hired me because I am a highly respected scientist. Now you believe you have to explain simple math to me." * Heinrick turns. "I will tell Ms. Tavares that you would like to speak to us both. Good day." He leaves before she can respond!
