And thye discovered Stolt hates Zukunft for some reason you'll probably never learn, because I doubt anyone cares.] (I'd like to learn! But I'm not sure I'll get a shot.) [Then you went to rescue Odval, who's chained to a chair in a small, windowless dining room.] [On the way you passed at least one security camera and Keiko mind controlled two guards to look the other way while you snuck up on them. Then Heinrick knocked over an ashcan.] [Start! Are there any? ( There is! Right over the stairs, in fact. ) * Keiko tries the same bend trick she did on the last one! ( It's not! But it's dark ) * Keiko is going to check if Odval's is locked in the mean! ( It is! ) * Heinrick opens the door and hides the bodies in the dark then. Closet if available, out of eyesight if not. (Damn!) (You need Heinrick's Universal Lockpicks (TM) ) * Keiko thinks at Heinrick, ~Odval's is locked. ( Standard ) * Heinrick thinks to Keiko. ~Keep trying to detect any presence other than Odval. We don't want any surprises if we can avoid them.~ * Heinrick takes out an acid vial and covers his mouth and tries to cover any reaction that occurs from it. He carefully pours it into the lock. * Keiko bites that lip harder as she expands her telepathic senses to cover the floor. 100 meters of range is a lot of range. (By "cover any reaction" I mean make as little sound and visual as possible.) (VICTORY!) (TAKE THAT YOU STUPID CONTROLLER) (Hooray?) (The plastic part that was the button trigger kept slipping out of its socket when I tried to push it together.) (Finally got it in right.) He needs to see where he's going. He whispers quietly, "When we release you, make sure you don't make a sound, alright?" [Odval stares at Heinrick.] * Heinrick gives Keiko a message. ~You are certain this is Odval, yes?~ * Keiko shudders as she draws close, biting her lip again as she puts the coat over her. ~I... she seemed like Odval,~ she thinks at Heinrick, suddenly subdued. ~Make certain. But quickly.~ * Keiko 's flush sticks, getting worse. * Heinrick gets behind her, ready with another vial to eat through the chains. ( Gimme awareness checks! Aaaaat... It slams over the doorway.] * Keiko shakes her head, thinking, ~No, please--~ Wham! ~--what?~ [Then the ceiling starts getting closer to the floor.] * Heinrick scowls. ~I knew it was too easy.~ He quickly pours the acid on the chains and then heads for the grate. "Make sure she's alright!" [Heinrick's acids start eating through Odval's chains! 'Course, they're pretty thick, so it'll take some time.] * Keiko settles to the ground, and then tries to keep Odval held with TK. ~Stay still.~ * Heinrick meanwhile takes out about 5 vials of liquid nitrogen and throws them at the grate. Luck roll I guess. ) * Heinrick shifts his weight slightly to avoid the dart, then makes sure he reaches across with his robotic arm, bracing himself to grip part of the frozen grate and rip it towards him. (And yes he's reaching across the flames, but only with his cybernetic part. He's so going to trash this arm again.) If not, I may need to carry you out.~ [The flame jet is knocked off-kilter, so to speak. The flames are still coming up, but it's nowhere near as intense over that tile.] [As for Odval, she's still handcuffed and gagged, so she does nothing.] (I thought we burned through the chains.) ( The one on her collar, yeah. ) * Keiko thinks back, ~Kinda. Odval's free... I've got her grabbed so she doesn't... um... jump you.~ (And is Keiko TKing Odval?) [Odval does look rather unsteady on her feet.] ~...that must be a very effective drug. Hold on, I'll carry you. Can you guide Odval to follow us?~ [And the ceiling's still coming down! You'd better hurry!] * Keiko lifts Odval off the ground, because she's light, what with that lack of clothes, and thinks back, ~I'll just carry her.~ * Keiko floats Odval nearer to her, or tries to, using her psychic senses to guide. Too bad walls don't think. * Heinrick runs back to Keiko and picks her up over right shoulder (since his left arm is hot, hot HOT) and heads quickly back towards the door. She looks around wildly, then delivers an important message. "Mffph Mm mph Mfff!"] (Not much we can do without destroying the camera. ^^; Which is suspicious in its own right. * Keiko says weakly, "Oh , she's awake." She reestablishes telepathic contact. ~Welcome back to your senses.~ ( Reminds me of that crappy No One Lives Forever game. Those cameras were a bitch. ) * Heinrick pushes the button to the elevator and says quietly. "Good morning, Odval. Pleasure to see you in one piece." [Odval stares at Heinrick, then blushes fiercely.] * Keiko thinks back, ~You were drugged, you were drugged, I didn't bring a spare, and you were drugged.~ [Meanwhile, you wait for the elevator...... ._.] * Keiko sets Odval down, saying, "Heinrick, can you get her uncuffed? She can at least use my gun." [Odval shakes her arms, which as still cuffed behind her back.] [Still waiting for that elevator. Better hope nobody's looking at that camera... ._.] * Heinrick nods. "While we're waiting, I don't see why not. But if it comes, we have to hurry." * Heinrick sets Keiko down and takes out one of his remaining vials of acid to burn through the cuffs. 2d8-5 * Diceroshi throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-5) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 4. (Chemtastic.) [Odval is uncuffed. She quickly undues the gag and takes a deep breath. "Um, thank you."] [She shudders. "If you hadn't come when you did. Even just a few more minutes late..."] * Heinrick smiles slightly. "That can wait for if they don't kill us yet. It hasn't exactly been the *smoothest* of escape attempts..." * Keiko leans against the wall, saying weakly, "Still blind," as she blinks her eyes. "And it's still better than being blind." She then thinks at Odval, ~Stop that,~ as she reaches into her own coat and fumbles for her pistol. Good. I don't have to tell you to give her your gun then. [But whatever she was going to say is lost when the elevator opens with a *ding*! And a twenty-something bellboy with a push cart and a tray of food stares out at you all. Especially Odval. "... My word." He's British or something.] (She's got a coat on!) * Keiko manages to grab her silenced pistol by the barrel and hold it out into the air. Right as the bellboy comes out. [He holds up his hands. "Don't shoot! I'm an A student and I finally got all my loans paid last year!"] * Heinrick smiles and heads in the elevator. "Tenth floor if you will." Quiet enough so that the camera doesn't record it but loud enough so he can hear it. (You didn't pick me up!) (He still needs to carry you?) (I'm still blind!) (It's an elevator!) [He doesn't. He stands by the cart, hands held up. "I just got a girlfriend last week!"] (She doesn't even know where the door is. You're basically giving her a 90% chance of running her face into Odval's chest.) * Heinrick sighs. "You'll be fine so long as you pay better attention than that." He helps Odval and Keiko into the elevator and says a little more sternly. "Tenth floor." ["And the professor says I have a promising future as a middle manager!"] * Heinrick watches to see if the bellboy gets the point. If he doesn't, he'll have a dagger pointed at his throat. [His eyes glance back and forth from the gun to Odval to the gun.] * Keiko gets helped! She leans against the corner of the elevator, thinking/MCing at the bellboy, ~Stop simpering and get back in here and press the button.~ * Heinrick shakes his head and takes it out anyways, pushing the button for him. [Guess he has a dagger pointed at his throat, then. He squeaks. "Wait! I'm still a virgin!"] (He never exited, did he?) ( Nope! ) (Keiko doesn't have a good idea of space in being blind.) (I'm perfectly fine with her being wrong. :P) [The elevator begins moving down. You get to listen to a bellboy whining and some cheery elevator muzak.] [He doesn't stop simpering because it's against his nature!] * Heinrick stands quietly and solemn. He hasn't put the blade away yet, mind you. That's for other people. (Ha.) * Keiko breathes slowly, continuing to blink. She just thinks at Odval, ~I'm... glad you're safe. And I won't mention it if you won't.~ She manages a very wan smile, before shuddering. [Although when he sees you aren't going to kill him, the bellboy does calm down a bit. He looks at Odval again. "I say, you sure are a LOT prettier than my girlfriend. Are you single?"] [The elevator *dings!* at the tenth floor.] * Keiko thinks back, her body stiffening, ~Maybe men aren't for you. Heinrick isn't the worst choice in the world, for a crazy man.~ * Heinrick smiles and puts the blade away, patting the bellhop on the cheek. NOT with his cyber hand. "Well, thank you! If you do become a middle manager, you might wish to do something about the clientele here. Just a word of advice." He turns to Keiko for a moment. "Can you see yet? If not, I can carry you again." (Can I see yet!) ( Nope! ) * Keiko replies, "Can't. Get to it." ["Umm.... Thank you?"] * Heinrick sighs and smirks, shrugging a little. "Although we still do have to work a bit on understanding hierarchy. You should have more respect for your elders." He picks Keiko up over his shoulder again and turns to Odval. "Are you well enough to move now?" [Odval nods. "I'll be okay."] * Keiko oofs as she gets picked up again, and then thinks back at Odval, ~You just... escaped from a bad situation. Give yourself a second, huh?~ [Odval shakes her head, not that Keiko can see.] * Keiko remains tense, and Heinrick can tell! * Heinrick nods and steps out of the elevator quickly. Anyone on this floor? * Keiko thinks back at her, ~Agreed, Odval.~ She shivers on Heinrick's arm, then repeats, ~Agreed.~ [There's a young couple making out by the vending machines and some balding business guy who can't seem to get his door open, but otherwise, no.] * Heinrick nods to Odval when the way is clear. "This way." He heads towards the opposite stairwell of the one they were coming down. [She follows, and you get to the stairs! Which, of course, have a camera over the door.] * Heinrick doesn't mind the camera this time and just makes his way down, looking as calm as he can with a girl over his arm. [You head down the stairs!] ( Hearing checks!] ) 2d8-2 * Diceroshi throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-2) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 4. (But horrible ears.) * Heinrick frowns. "The other stairwell. Quickly." He heads the other way. [Odval stops! "Wait! How do you know they won't be over there, too? If they can see us on that camera, they can direct people to find us anywhere!"] It'd take some time to get people over there...but? If you're willing to risk it? * Heinrick takes out a few vials and checks down the stairs. ["They could have people coming up both sets right now."] Quite possible. Either way though... * Heinrick 's peering over the edge. Does he see anyone? [Odval nods.] * Keiko says, quietly, "Can't see, can't do much. When they get close... I can try to get 'em to turn on eachother." [Heinrick sees only very little of a number of people as they come up the stairs.] Well. Incidiaries would be quieter than explosives. Although... [They do get closer! Sure." * Heinrick pushes open the fire exit door quickly and goes as fast as he can into the parking lot. [An alarm blares RIGHT IN YOUR EAR!] * Keiko flinches slightly, thanking whatever heathen gods she believes in that she's not Jamie. ( Which ones, exactly? ) ( 'Cause there's like a hole bunch of them. ) [Odval goes as fast as someone with no shoes running across gravel can.] (It's a writing joke. Keiko's kinda a mis-mash of shinto and shaman.) * Heinrick 'd carry her too, but time is of the essence. The car will hopefully be started once she makes it. [And over by the main enterance, some people do seem to be running your way. But most are getting caught in the crowd that are rushing out of the casion, screaming "Ohmygodohmygodfirefire" ] [You start the car up!] * Keiko gets plunked into a seat? * Heinrick does plunk Keiko in a seat and opens the door quickly for Odval to get in as well. [Odval gets in. The jacket slips a bit as she does, and she quickly pulls it tight around herself.] * Heinrick makes sure all the doors are closed and everyone's in. "I'd suggest you hold on as best you can." He guns it. [Zoom! You tear out of the casino lot! And to freedom!] * Keiko leans in the seat, hand wrapped tight around her plush as she murmurs, eyes closed, "Go, please go. And we need a phone." [.... Almost. Another car quickly pulls out after you, with Friedrich Stolt and three guards, each with a machinegun. They fire! But miss.] [Init is Heinrick, Keiko, Stolt, Guards, Odval] [Heinrick!] * Heinrick lets out a breath. "Well! That went pretty much as planned. I only hope the others are doing as well." He tosses Keiko a cell phone and takes evasive action. "Odval, can you take care of them please? I can give you some explosives if need be." [She nods. "Alright."] (You just toassed a blind woman a phone. Awesome.) * Heinrick takes a full defense on driving! (Unless the phone toss counts). (Busy!) ( You can operate with teh power of ur myend! ) [Keiko!] (Besides, if you can't dial by memory, that's pretty scary. It's not like cell phone button configurations are complicated.) [A phone (presumably) lands near Keiko.] (But they're different. Also, Keiko has almost certainly never, ever, ever, ever, been told the numbers to call.) (Good thing she's a telepath.) She fumbles for it to pick it up and then try to figure out the buttons. "Need to let them know about Sofia's mission." * Heinrick nods and relays Keiko the number. ( She better not be calling the other team :X ) (No.) [The other car fires again! And they all miss. Seriously, I gotta update those guards.] (She's calling Control who'll find out we *weren't* on the mission we were assigned to!) [Odval holds a hand forward. "Heinrick, the explosives!"] * Heinrick takes out a few vials, keeping one hand on the wheel and hands them to Odval carefully. [Back to Heinrick!] (Wouldn't that be his action?) ( Ok ) [Keiko!] * Keiko feels the phone with her fingers a bit more and then dials the number Heinrick gave her. (And assume he's taking full defense controlling the car unless the handing of stuff negates that.) [The guys shoot summore. Heinrick, gimme one defense roll!] 2d8-5 * Diceroshi throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8-5) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 6. (TGFTD) [Heinrick evades! And Odval mixes the explosives. "Here goes." She tosses them out the window. They land on the hood of the car and explode, taking out the entire engine and sending the vehicle into a spin.] ( She totally got a crit success ) ( And I'm toatlly tired, so.... ) (Sweet! I like her more already!) [Lydia answers the phone. "Control."] (Go Odval!) * Keiko says into the phone, in a flat voice, "Control, Keiko. Sofia is in a chopper headed to Ulm to do something so she can get some guns." ["Is that so? You managed to find a link between her and Claude Sherman?"] * Keiko replies, still flatly, "No. A meeting between her, Eileen, the old guy at the resturant, van Trier, Stolt. For the Society." ["I see. You'd better return to base immediately, then."] (...and I just ripped my Tristat dX book in half. o.o) (Well, binder.)
