<Brett> [One day after getting thrashed and/or breaking orders, you wind up in
the briefing room.  Woot.]
<Roseli> (Oh right, Megan's birthday.  I'm dumb.  Calling Mecha.)
<Togo> (Are Luana and Jamie on gurneys?)
<Brett> [Lydia and Nene are there.  Jamie is not, though, because the hole in
her gut reopened and Dr. Siebert has to spend precious extra time on her.]
<Roseli> (Mecha says he'll be about seven minutes late.  Cham's birthday stuff
was today.)
<Roseli> (So he was at le party.)
<Brett> [The rest of you are all shot up.  Well Luana and Rose are, anyway.  But
thems the breaks.]
<Brett> ( He's 23 minutes late :X )
<Heinrick> (Keiko can be getting treated for her blindness.)
<Roseli> (Well, seven minutes from now.)
<Roseli> (But give him a break; he was at a birthday party. ^^; )
<Brett> ( Keiko is going to be there so I don't have to repeat myself. :X )
<Togo> (Did you guys rescue whatshername, Rowyn?)
<Roseli> (Hehe.)
<Heinrick> (Yes. Yes we did.)
<Togo> (Cool.)
<Heinrick> (Heinrick's arm may still be slightly melted because of it. Or did it
just get hot?)
<Brett> [Ok, well, I think that's about all that needs to be said, so go to it.]
<Brett> ( It's singed a bit but still works fine. )
* Togo is sitting in a chair, cleaning the silencer from his assault rifle,
waiting for the meeting to start.
* Roseli walks in, coffee and half a sandwich in hand, and more or less
collapses into a chair. She is, in fact, covered with gauze and stitches. Not
looking so hot, that Rose.
* Heinrick is sitting there as well, elbows on the table, hands clasped in front
of his mouth. He seems to be contemplating. Or brooding. Or plotting. One of the
three. He doesn't seem to mind that Nene's there either.
* Luana is sitting very delicately in her chair and moving as little as
possible. Her T-shirt is cut open on the sides so that it doesn't pull against
the bandages over her wound.
* Roseli says, "Afternoon," before nibbling on her sandwich.
<Heinrick> Well, you look as if you've seen better days, Ms. Tavares. Afternoon.
* Roseli mrfs around her sandwich, swallows, and says, "'s truth." She gets a
good gulp of coffee.
* Luana asks quietly, "How's Jamie?"

<Roseli> Wound in her stomach opened up.  Might've agitated the stitches or
something.
* Roseli drinks more coffee. "Be okay. Just under right now."
<Brett> [The meeting begins! Woot!  Lydia speaks first. "Good evening.  I'm
afraid I have some bad news.  An urgent situation has come up that requires your
immediate attention.  I apologize for not giving you more time to recover, but
that time simply isn't there."]
<Keiko> (Am I still blind?)
<Brett> ( Yep! )
<Keiko> (Man, a day of blindness.)
* Roseli looks at Lydia blankly, just for a moment, then straigthens and
suddenly seems about five hundred times more together. "What's the problem?"
* Heinrick sighs slightly. "Ever the grind, isn't it? Ah well. What is it?"
<Brett> [At that, she punches in a few keys on her keyboard, and a picture and
map of a city pop up. "This is Ulm, located in the Southwest part of the
country."]
* Heinrick loses the snarky expression as he glances at the map. *Now* she has
his attention.
* Keiko is also in the briefing room! She's wearing black, no ribbons through
her hair, but at least it's combed. She's wearing the bracelet she got for
Christmas instead, and leaning forward. Her eyes stare blankly forward, not
focused on anything.
* Togo finishes his gun maintenence and puts away the silencer.
* Roseli eats sandwich quickly as Lydia exposits. Because she's not going to
have a chance later, and this is dinner.
<Keiko> (Darn, I need Telepathy 6 so I can see through other peoples' eyes.)
<Brett> [A few more key presses, another picture. "Sofia Hernandez, as I'm sure
you all remember, made her way to Ulm last night in a helicopter.  Thanks to Red
Team, we know she's working with a number of Brazilian terrorists."]
* Roseli listens and nods to Lydia. She glances at Keiko and blinks.
<Roseli> (Rose is out of the loop!  She doesn't know Keiko is blind!)
* Keiko remains staring at nothing, and thinks at Luana, ~Let me know if
something important gets shown... okay?~
<Brett> [Again, thanks to Red team, we've uncovered evidence of a plot to attack
Ulm tonight.  The Brizilians are going to strike Ulm using a prototype weapon."
A cyllindrical object with a keypad and a bunch of numbers pops up.]
<Luana> ~There's a canister looking thing with a keypad.~
<Keiko> ~Must've been what van Trier gave her.~
<Brett> ( Gimme mil science rolls at +5! Unless you have weapon encyclopedia )

<Brett> ["We believe their motive in doing so is part of a deal with Thomas van
Trier: They preform the attack, and van Trier outfits them with weapons to use
in a revolt in Brazil."]

* Heinrick keeps his eyes on the screen. "After this, we need to stem the supply

* Roseli bites her lower lip briefly, then says, "Sofia's work. Not known to the
public, though."
* Roseli chews the last bite of her sandwich, swallows, and washes it down with
more coffee.
<Brett> ["At any rate, you're to leave for Ulm immediately.  Red team is already
there, along with several teams from section 1, including Klause Kohler.  Iris
Koenig will also be accompanying you."]
<Roseli> (This is a major strike, yessir.)
<Brett> ( Oh yeah )
<Togo> Are they clear on the 'no shooting at people on your side' part of the
mission this time?
<Keiko> (Hmph. Red Team isn't the only reason you know things.)
<Roseli> (Shush, Lydia's probably covering for you. :P)
<Roseli> (So don't say stupid shit!)
<Heinrick> (Well  yes, but...what Rose said.)
<Brett> [Lydia peers at Togo. "Are you?"]
* Heinrick nods slightly. "If we could get medical supplies along the way, we
would be more able to put forth our full efforts. It won't be perfect,
obviously, but it would appear several here still need treatment."
<Brett> [Nene clears her throat. "Ahem! I'll be accompanying you, too. I'll be
coordinating the teams through radio, once we discover the location of the
disruptors."]
* Togo tilts his head and Lydia and grins, but lets the matter drop.
* Roseli nods at Nene. She's never really worked before, outside of nuking Ten,
so she's not too sure what to expect.
<Brett> [Lydia nods. "Doctor Pasch will be accompanying you.  Dr. Siebert will
send Jamie along when she's ready, too."]
* Roseli drinks more coffee, sets her mug down, and rubs at her bracelet.
<Togo> It's been almost a full 24 hours, so I can use my nanomedpak on anyone
who's still injured if need be.
<Brett> ( Nene works all the time! She'd be glad to switch jobs. You can do
paperwork 10 hours a day instead. )
<Roseli> (Rose does plenty of paperwork, thanks.  It's how she can avoid facing
the fact that she doesn't have a life. ^^)
* Heinrick nods. "That would be excellent. Keiko in particular is in need of
specialized treatment. I haven't had time to analyze her blood myself yet."
* Roseli turns her attention to Heinrick. "What's wrong with Keiko?"
* Keiko drums her fingers on the table, looking in the vague direction of
Heinrick towards back forward before she replies, "If van Trier is underground,
then that'll make it harder for Sofia to get her reward."
* Heinrick turns to Roseli. "Something was injected into her that made her lose
her vision. It might hinder her effectiveness unless we find a way to treat it."
* Luana leans forward carefully and waves a hand in front of Keiko's eyes.
<Brett> [Nene floats upwards. "Maybe, but that's not going to stop her. Shall we
go?"]
* Togo looks over at Keiko, frowning.
* Roseli blinks. She looks to Lydia and Nene. "No time to do a quick analysis?"
<Heinrick> I can attempt to do it along the way, given the proper equipment.
* Keiko doesn't respond to Luana's wave at all, other than saying out loud, "I
can hear you thinking," and smiling faintly.
<Brett> [Lydia speaks one more time! "We believe there are fourteen of these
seismic disruptors in Ulm. If even one goes off, it could destroy the city."]
* Luana pokes Keiko's nose and leans back in her chair.
* Keiko makes a 'mou' sound before smiling weakly and rubs her nose. ~You.~
<Heinrick> I assume that wouldn't be pleasant if we were still in it.
* Roseli nods. "Our assignment is to take them out?"
<Togo> Do they have to be disarmed in any special manner, or can they just be
turned off?
<Brett> ["If by take them out you mean disarm them, yes."]
* Heinrick ponders for a moment. "It is a shame that Jamie isn't available for
this mission. She would probably prove most helpful."
* Roseli nods. "Would be."
<Roseli> Got some experience in bomb disposal, but I'm not an ace.
<Roseli> (So hopefully a critfail doesn't mean I blow us all up and the game's
over.)
<Keiko> (That's a lot of rolls to make.)
* Keiko speaks up, asking, "Will Section 1 be bringing bomb experts?"
<Heinrick> (Well, the alternative is leave no one standing to set the bombs
off.)
* Heinrick nods. "That is a good question. Control?"
<Brett> ["Their teams have a bomb expert a piece, yes."]
<Togo> You don't want me trying to disarm a bomb.
* Roseli shakes her head. She looks to Heinrick. "Any experience in it?"
* Heinrick shakes his head. "I'm afraid it's not something I'm trained in.
Unless there is any electronic work attached. Then I could possibly figure it
out."
<Roseli> (Really, Rose is a 13 and under, so she's actually pretty freaking
good.  But with our luck, I'll roll a fifteen. ;P)
<Keiko> (Inxeex.)
* Roseli nods. "Might have an electronic detonator, but shouldn't count on that.
I'll handle disposal if it comes to it."
* Keiko says out loud, in a neutral voice, "If we let her know she won't get her
reward, maybe she'll help us so she lives."
<Roseli> (*writes bomb disposal tools on Rose's sheet, since she'll totally pick
those up before she goes*)
<Brett> [Lydia speaks! "I should mention, the men you'll be up against are
trained soldiers, some with special abilities.  They won't be like the security
guards you're used to."]
<Roseli> Understood.  Who do you mean, Keiko?
<Heinrick> (HA, Brett. HA.)
<Heinrick> Sofia, I'd imagine.
<Heinrick> If van Trier's is underground, it'll be hard for her to make contact
with him.
<Heinrick> (- 's)
* Roseli is silent for a moment, then says, "Unlikely."
* Keiko looks over in Rose's vague direction for a moment, then thinks at Luana,
~I wonder if this is hard for her.~
* Roseli downs the rest of her coffee.
<Luana> ~I think this job is hard on all of us in turn.~
<Heinrick> We haven't had too much luck with defection, no.
* Roseli puts her empty mug back on the table. "Sofia has it in for the
Brazilian government. It's personal."
<Roseli> She might give up if it looks like there's no other chance and she can
get out.  But she'll get back at it.
<Roseli> (s/chance/choice)
<Heinrick> Better to end it here then.
<Togo> (Switching computers. BRB)
* Togo has quit IRC (Quit: )
* Roseli nods, still showing pretty much no emotion. But that's normal for her.
<Brett> ( When you're ready.... )
* Keiko thinks back at Luana, ~Blind isn't much fun.~ She drums her fingers on
the desk and looks off to the side vacantly. ~I kinda wish it happned to one of
the Guardians, though. Then maybe they'd understand.~

* Roseli looks to the pair. "Anything else?" Pause. "Any leads as to where these
bombs are?"
<Brett> ["Not yet.  Hopefully there will be more information by the time you get
there."]
* Togo nods. "Let

* Roseli nods. She gets to her feet. "Gonna get the bomb disposal kit, then. See
you on the field." And she picks up her mug and stalks off, probably for a
refill.
* Keiko things back at Luana, ~Maybe. It's not... sometimes I want people to
understand.~ She stands up slowly, resting her hand heavily on the table.
* Togo nods. "Let's get moving, then. Rose, Luana, I'll give you each shots of
the medpak on the way."
* Heinrick nods too. "Keiko, I'll be drawing some blood from you before we go,
just to make certain. Luana, could you lead her in the meantime?
* Togo looks over at Keiko. "Keiko, the medpak won't do anything for your eyes,
but do you need it for other injuries?"
* Luana stands carefully and takes Keiko's hand. "Yes, sir."
* Keiko shakes her head as her hand is taken and closes around Luana's. "No,
Togo... just the eyes."
<Togo> Okay. *pauses* Don't worry, we'll get your eyes working again.
<Roseli> (I got Jamie's working, and she didn't even have eyes!)
* Luana leads her out.
* Keiko gets lead out! Yay!
<Brett> [Half an hour later, you arrive at the Section 1 office in Ulm.  There
to meet you on the roof is Adela Moller, of all people.  Ain't that nice?]

<Brett> [Adela nods. "They broke through their defense ten minutes ago.  The
leaders are missing, though, but we did get the data on the location of the
seismic disruptors.  The briefing rooms are too small, so everyone's gathered in
the hanger.  We were just waiting for you."]
* Roseli withdraws a pack of gum and takes a stick. She offers to whoever.
* Luana takes some gum. "Thanks."
<Brett> [Nene nods. "Understood.  Shall we?"  And they go! Somewhere! You might
want to follow! Or stay here and get fired for insubordination.  Either or.]
<Brett> ( afk a sec )
* Togo goes!
* Roseli goes. Hooray!
* Roseli nods to Luana. Everyone needs gum.
* Keiko is still attached to Luana or Heinrick because of lack of sight, her
other arm holding her plush. But hopefully they go too!
* Luana goes and brings Keiko wth her!
* Heinrick goes xTimes.
<Brett> ( Back )
<Brett> [You go! This facility isn't that big, so it doesn't take long to get to
the hanger, which is really more of a garage.  There are quite a lot of people
there.  You spot Red team towards the back.  Karin's apparently holding a
conversation with Iris.]
<Brett> [Nene says, "If you'll excuse me..." And flies towards the front of the
crowd, where some important-looking people are gathered.]
* Roseli walks for the red team, because hey. Their section's gotta stick
together. She still looks like hell, but she's an alert hell.
* Luana leads over to Red Team.
<Togo> *walkwalk*
<Brett> [As you do, someone mumbles. "Oh great.  Watch out for friendly fire,
guys."]
<Roseli> (I grab the guy, spin him around, and put a gun to his head.  Then say,
"That's not friendly.")
* Luana twirls a flame around her free hand, just for a brief moment.
<Keiko> (I'd love you forever... if I could see it.)
<Roseli> (^^  Sadly, I'd lose my job.)
<Keiko> (Likely.)
* Togo ignores the comment and keeps moving.
<Brett> [Karin waves as you approach. "Hi! Did you hear? Leo Mayer just got
through their base.  He's sending the data to us now."]
<Roseli> 's great.  Need to know where those bombs are yesterday.
* Roseli shifts and successfully hides her wince. "Glad to see you're all
alive."
* Heinrick goes over to Keiko, needle in hand. "Are you ready?"
<Brett> [She grins. "Thanks.  Hey, guess what?" She puts an arm around Iris's
shoulder, much to the other girl's surprise. "It's Iris's first mission as an
active member."]
* Roseli chuckles. "Welcome to the club." She holds her hand out to Iris to
shake. "Will buy you a drink when this is over."
* Keiko replies to Heinrick, "For?"
<Heinrick> I need to take a sample from you to see if we can find what they put
into you.
<Brett> [Iris shakes. "Thanks. I'm um, a bit nerveous."]
* Keiko nods slowly, then holds out her plush arm, flipping it wrist up towards
him and tensing slightly.
<Roseli> Try not to worry about it and follow orders.  What's your job in this?
* Heinrick pierces Keiko's skin and takes some blood from her to do the work. He
tries to make it as painless as possible, but he's only human.
<Brett> ["Um, disarm one of the bombs, and take out any hostiles surrounding
it."]
* Heinrick takes out the needle and covers the puncture with a cotton swab and
medical tape. "Thank you. I'll let you know if I find anything." He shakes the
vial slightly after capping it.
* Roseli nods. "You'll be in the thick of things. Who's going with you?"
<Brett> [Iris blinks. "Well.... nobody."]
* Keiko nods slightly and holds her plush against her chest. ~At least I'm used
to needles.~
* Roseli snerks. "Better hope the people you're up against aren't me, then. If
anyone can do it alone, it's you."
<Brett> [It's about now that someone claps his hands in the air. "Listen up!" Up
front they've set up a holocomputer with a large screen.  A map of Ulm appears
on it, along with a bunch of glowing points.  The speaker is a twenty-something
man with wavy blond hair and blue eyes.  He's wearing the standard section 1
uniform, and strapped to his back are two double-bladed swords.]
<Keiko> (KLAAAAAUS)
* Roseli turns to the front. Totally listening, boss!
* Luana thinks an image of the man and the map over to Keiko. ~Um, I think
that's Klaus Kohler speaking, from Section 1.~
<Brett> [Iris and Karin stare at him.  Karin grins. "Wow! I had no idea the
leader of the Blitzkrieg Aces was so young! Or so hot?  Eh, Iris?"  Iris
blushes.]
<Brett> [Sebastian snorts.]
<Roseli> Could be genemodded.  He is cute.
<Keiko> (I'm not even gonna try to read Iron Mind Iris.)
<Roseli> (Sebastian's jealous because he has the hots for Iris.)
<Brett> ( Could be! Iris is pretty good looking. )
* Luana agrees with them, although the only person who can tell is Keiko. :P
* Keiko grips her side a little and thinks back at Luana, ~He can't be that
attractive.~
<Roseli> (Keiko is jealous because she ALSO has the hots for Iris!  I mean
Luana.)
<Luana> ~Why not? He really, really is.~
<Brett> [Regardless of whether he's hot or not, Klause continues to speak,
gesturing at the map. "Leo Mayer's team has finished deciphering the data from
the terrorist base.  These are what we believe to be the locations of the
seismic disruptors."]
* Heinrick is listening too! Though he looks at the vial of blood for a moment
before putting it away
<Togo> ( Drink it! It'll creep people out! )
<Heinrick> (Phone)
* Keiko doesn't respond to Luana's thought, although she looks off to one side
for a moment as Klaus shows the map.
<Brett> ["They're synchronized to go off at 9:30, which gives us little more
than a half hour to stop them.  You've already been split into teams, so move
out immediately as soon as I assign you a location.  The teams will be
coordinated through radio from this base."]
<Keiko> (Is it Klaus or Klause?)
<Brett> [Keiko sees nothing.]
<Keiko> (Reference list says Klaus.)
<Brett> ( Klaus :X )
<Keiko> (Just checkin'.)
<Brett> ["And one more thing, the base had only a token force guarding it.  It's
possible they've sent men to make sure the bombs go off properly.  Be prepared
for conflict."]
<Brett> [With that, he starts calling you names.]

<Brett> [You guys win a location that's apparently in a ghetto part of town!

* Roseli is seated in the back, next to one of the windows. Her gun's already
out, and she's looking through said window.
* Togo turns to Luana. "How you holding up?"
<Brett> [There aren't even any npcs here to interact with. :(]
<Luana> I think I'll be okay for this. I think Keiko and I will stay to the
back, though.
* Togo nods. "Good idea. Rear guard work."
* Roseli keeps looking out the window. "Might end up needing you in front,
though. Good at close combat."
<Togo> Someone's gotta stay with Keiko, though.
* Roseli asks, tinged with curiosity: "Why not you? You're ranged. Or Heinrick."
* Keiko replies a bit lowly, looking off to the side, "I'll be fine. I've still
got my mind."
* Roseli nods to Keiko briefly before looking out the window again.
* Keiko rubs her thumb over Luana's hand idly as she says that.
* Heinrick speaks up. "Keiko doesn't like to be coddled apparently."
<Roseli> I understand, Keiko, but we don't want you falling prey to something
unexpected.  And I know you're most comfortable with Keiko, Luana, but this
mission isn't about comfort.
* Luana looks down. "Yes, ma'am."

She tries to extend her senses to pick up people outside the van as she lets go

on whoever did that. "Out of the van!" she shouts.

unbuckling Keiko and hauling her out bodily. There.
* Togo gets clear of the van and pulls out his own rocket launcher. "I can try."

follow me, but there's a bit of that expectation as he goes around.

* Keiko gets to the group, murmuring, "Tick tock."
* Roseli presses her gun to the guy's head and replies, forcefully.
* Heinrick sighs at the ignored question. "I'll have to hope he can't understand
our conversation then." He glances at Keiko. "I remember you saying once that
thought language is universal, is that correct?"
<Brett> [He responds.]
* Keiko glances over at Heinrick. "Yes and no."
* Togo shrugs and puts the earpiece in, in case he recognizes a word or two.
* Heinrick nods and gestures to the man. "Think you can get any information from
him while Rose is preoccupied?'

* Heinrick then realizes Keiko can't see the gesture, but oh well!
* Roseli smiles thinly and asks one more question.

* Roseli crouches and picks up the semi-automatic the guy dropped, checking it
over and then slinging it over her shoulder. She radios into Blitzy central
communication, responding to Nene: "Section 2 blue team. According to a
Brazilian soldier, our bomb is guarded by two of their leaders. May need back up
when someone can spare."
<Keiko> (also, 'the smiles' -> 'the smile fades'.)
* Roseli also radios to Nene, "Have earpiece to their comm; will let you know if
anything comes of it."
<Brett> ["Understood.  Unfortunately, I can't do much for you.  Only one of the
bombs has been disabled so far, on the other side of town.  It will take a while
for that team.... erm, person, really, to relocate."]
* Keiko adds, smiling in Luana's vague direction, ~I'd rather be beside fire any
day, though.~

* Roseli nods. "Glad to hear Iris's first mission was a success." She starts
moving quickly to where the bomb is located, trying to keep cover along the way.
With one hand, she stifles a yawn.
* Heinrick nods and follows. "You have a bead on their position then."
* Togo switches out for his assault rifle, and advances forward with Rose.
* Luana sends Keiko a mental hug. Like an e-card, only more effective! Then she
follows after Rose.
<Roseli> No more than we did before.  But two blocks, right?
* Keiko feels people moving and floats after them, just barely off the ground.
* Roseli keeps moving, a tad unsteadily. "Will be less effective for five
minutes."
<Brett> ["Understood. Over and out."]
* Heinrick nods and keeps moving.
<Brett> [You move forward! Nobody tries to kill you, yet.  You actually make it
all the way to where the bomb is: an old mall, 90% of it's stores long since
closed.  According to the data, the bomb is underground somewhere.]
