[Day: Wednesday, April 16th. Time: 8:30 p.m.] [Roseli is at the London pub where she ran to the other guardians before, but this time, there is no Togo. Still, she's been up to about the same activity she'd been last time... one can assume, anyway, since there are a few empty pint glasses on her table (and she's there alone, so they're probably not somebody else's), along with an almost entirely untouched basket of fish and chips.] [Rose, herself, is dressed in the same clothes as usual. And asleep, head on her arms, which are folded mostly under her.] [Heinrick is likely passing by right about... now.] [Minisession Start.] * Heinrick walks by the bar and immediately recognizes it. His hands are in his pockets and he's dressed noticeably more casually than his usual outfit. Sweater and jeans tonight, since it's getting late. He glances off to the side and notices Rose sleeping at the table through the window as he passes by, then makes his way into the pub. * Roseli is napping all right, and she doesn't stir as Heinrick enters. Must be a deep sleeper, that Rose. She's not dressed for a cool night out, instead wearing a tank top along with her jeans and boots, which shows off the vine and rose tattoo which circles one of her upper arms. * Heinrick checks the situation first to make sure that Rose doesn't have her gun nearby. You never can be *too* careful with waking up a sleeping lion. * Roseli doesn't seem to be wearing her holster, and she has no jacket on! * Heinrick looks satisfied and gives her a light tap on the head with a questioning tone. "Ms. Tavares?" * Roseli stirs very slightly and reaches up to knock Heinrick's hand away, muttering something that might be in Portuguese. (Give me a, um... sight/heightened awareness roll at -2. :D) (...you're giving Heinrick a bonus? :P) (-2 *might* be a make. XD) [Heinrick notices that she doesn't have her bracelet on, instead wearing a gauze-y sort of bandage around her left wrist.] * Heinrick notes that and tries waking her again if she's not making any motions to do it on her own. (How's he trying? :D) (Shoulder shake this time. And while it'd be amusing to do it with his left hand, it'd be his right. :D) (That's the non-SS one, right?) (Yes.) * Roseli starts this time, jerking awake and turning to face Heinrick. One hand is going for the gun... which isn't there, and she frowns. Then rubs her eyes with a wince. * Heinrick replies calmly and evenly. And doesn't give a smile or a smirk. Whether this is a good thing or not is yet to be seen. "Long night, I see." * Roseli says something in Portuguese which turns into a German, "Fell asleep with my contacts in. Have a headache." * Heinrick lets out a long sigh and sits down. "Which also comes from an excess of drinking. Though sadly, I haven't had to worry about that for quite some time." He folds his hands together. "How are you feeling?" * Roseli moves those hands to rest her forehead against them, and she shakes her head. After a pause, she asks, "Why?" * Heinrick gets a more honest and serious expression to his face and looks her dead in the eye. "Because, to be honest, you looked like crap after the last mission." (Such language!) * Roseli looks up at Heinrick, and then laughs. Kind of. And makes a weird little choking sound. (Shh, dear. The adults are talking.) Feel like crap. I shouldn't be out right now. * Heinrick lets out a long, somewhat dramatic sigh and leans back in the seat. "Neither should I, but I'm afraid I have little choice at this time." * Roseli rubs at an eye with one hand. "Someone's making you visit me?" * Heinrick finally gets back his usual smirk and throws his hands up in a shrug. "My dear Ms. Tavares. You should know me better than to think I could be made to do something at all." * Roseli gives a small grin. Little choice. You said it yourself. To be out, yes. To visit is my choice. * Roseli blinks. "Did they fire you?" She looks around for some cider and finds a glass that's half empty (or full). * Roseli has a sip. Suspension, actually. You had to have known that they wouldn't take kindly to my little...manipulation of the rules when we split the last time. Although I'm surprised the rumors haven't already spread all over the base by now. * Roseli hmphs, then eyes the drink and puts it down. "Haven't been on base." * Heinrick asks for a water from the cute waitress that comes to take his order! Though she's luckily probably not young enough to be his daughter. * Heinrick raises an eyebrow at that slightly. "Oh?" * Roseli shakes her head, rubbing at the bandage over her left wrist. She waits for the waitress to be gone, then says quietly, "Shot up my apartment." * Heinrick just looks at her evenly for a silent moment. He actually gets the water first and the waitress leaves again before he response, quietly. "Well. That's one way to relieve work stress I suppose." * Heinrick takes a sip of water while he's at it. Stupid staying sober. Pretty much. * Roseli shifts, looking around. * Heinrick takes a deep breath and doesn't fully look at Roseli as he asks. "What fully went on last mission, Rose?" * Roseli shakes her head. Can we talk about this somewhere else? * Heinrick nods. "If you'd prefer." He stands up slowly and tosses her his sweatshirt. * Roseli catches it, looks at the shirt blankly for a moment, then stands and almost mechanically puts it on. Shall we go then? * Roseli nods and walks out of the pub. * Heinrick walks as well, but slowly takes second. Rose suggested taking it somewhere else. Rose leads. * Roseli looks around once she walks into the cool night air, then goes to the only place she knows is fairly safe. Ironically, that would be her apartment. * Heinrick follows. Maybe Rose wants him to be another target! Who knows? (Clearly.) * Roseli leads the way through Berlin on a walk that takes twenty, twenty-five minutes. She doesn't say a word during the whole thing, nor does she fidget, though she does occasionally rub at the bandage on her left wrist. * Heinrick doesn't say a word either or make much sound. It's actually kind of creepy the way he's just stalking behind her, hands in his pockets. Whether he notices the bandage or not he hasn't shown yet. * Roseli eventually approaches a fairly nice apartment complex and heads up the stairs on the outside to one of the doors. She pulls out her keys, fumbles one into its lock, and opens said door. It's dark inside! * Heinrick makes his way slowly inside, keeping an eye on Rose's movements, just in case she *is* searching for a gun. * Roseli doesn't seem to be, and ones Heinrick's inside, she turns on the lights and steps in herself, closing and locking the door behind her. Her apartment is reasonably spacious for one person living in a city, and it's sparsely decorated: the walls are a neutral off-white, and the carpet an equally neutral brownish beige. (It is, however, still decorated with bullet holes, right?) [Heinrick may not notice those details so much, though, because as he enters... well, the kitchen area is small and to his left, and then there's a half wall. Past that is the living room, and one of said living room walls - particularly the wall behind the entertainment center (or what was the entertainment center) is riddled with bullet holes. There's no television there, noteably, which probably has something to do with...] *** Brett (vortex@pool-71-181-231-210.sctnpa.east.verizon.net) has joined channel #mc4 *** Mode change "+o Brett" on channel #mc4 by ChanServ [the section behind where the set SHOULD be is shot up. No shrapnel or anything, though; just bullet holes.] (Hey Brett. ^^) (Hola Brett!) ( Yo. ) * Roseli waves. "Make yourself at home. It's clean." She heads off to the bathroom and shuts the door behind her. * Heinrick gives a short nod and takes a seat. "I do see why you mentioned it before hand. It would be a little difficult to hide it." ( No it wouldn't. Posters, dude! Posters! ) (I clearly need more curtains.) (Nomura would hire you on the spot as his new inspiration.) * Roseli can be heard flushing the toilet, washing her hands, and so forth, and in a few minutes she emerges, pacing back into the room and taking a moment to remove her shoes. And Heinrick's sweatshirt, which she tosses back to him. * Heinrick puts it to the side of him and waits for her to settle. All in her own time. * Roseli heads to the kitchen, and Heinrick can still see her from where he's sitting. She opens her refridgerator and has a look inside. "Want anything to drink?" Well. I suppose I *did* never get a chance to finish my water. My body is still getting used to that. * Heinrick sighs. "Which reminds me. What time is it?" * Roseli pulls a pitcher of water from the fridge and gets two glasses from the cupboard. She checks the watch on her right wrist. "9:07." * Roseli goes about pouring water. * Heinrick frowns slightly and stands. "You'll have to excuse me for just a moment then. May I use your bathroom?" Sure. * Roseli puts the pitcher back in her fridge and heads into her living room. She puts one glass on the coffee table near where Heinrick was sitting, then has a seat on the chair more or less opposite. * Heinrick nods slightly and heads to the bathroom quickly, where he takes a few minutes. When he returns, he's rubbing his arm and takes his seat. "Thank you. Sorry about that, but I do have to keep on schedule..." * Roseli blinks, glancing at Heinrick's arm. She knows that rub. "I understand." * Heinrick takes the water up and puts it to his lips, taking a sip. "Not unlike yourself, I suspect. Though for different reasons, I gather." Maybe. Don't know yours. * Heinrick takes in a deep breath and looks at the wall for a moment. "Chemical imbalance, actually." * Roseli shrugs. "Wouldn't be the only one with that problem." * Heinrick chuckles to himself and rubs his arm slightly, staring at it. "Yes, actually. Although not many of them are self-imposed. I have to say the consequences weren't quite what I expected though..." * Roseli shakes her head and drinks her own water. * Heinrick looks up slightly. "How about yours? From the military, right?" * Roseli lowers her glass and nods. "In Brazil. Was a part of a failed program that used it." * Heinrick looks into his water. "It would seem that there were a lot more programs coming out of Brazil than we might have realized..." * Roseli shakes her head again. "Seems so." * Roseli drinks more water. What I get here is a weak copy. If we run into Davi again... Plus he's dead. Although I'm presuming that was not the state you left him in last you saw him. * Roseli looks into her own glass. "No." * Heinrick chuckles and speaks mostly to himself. "It's hard to believe. To think they would run into the same hurdles but forgo them..." * Roseli blinks. Sorry? * Heinrick shakes his head and rubs his head for a moment. "It's...nothing. Do you have any idea who might try something like that?" (Dammit.) (Dammit dammit dammit. I'll be back in a bit.) (It's just getting dark and my lightbulb just burnt out. I should get it now before I start wandering around blind.) (Wow, yes. Do that.) (Alright, back) (Welcome back. ^^) (I can has light again!) (Hoorays!) Something like what? Like what happened to Davi? * Heinrick nods, not fully looking at Rose right now but at his water as he drinks it. * Roseli is silent for a moment, then says, "You know as well as I do. A company in Germany, and now military research in Brazil." * Heinrick shakes his head. "No. It doesn't fully add up. Unless Control has no conception of it. Which I admit is fully possible, but..." ... Sorry? * Heinrick shrugs slightly. "If you were meaning Zunkuft... Control said something earlier that gave an indication that she wouldn't know of any successful experiments..." He settles down in the seat slightly. "I'm truly sorry. I ramble." First I saw of Davi since... before, and first I heard of anything like that. * Roseli drinks her water. "Sorry I can't help you more." That's not what we came here to discuss anyway. When *was* the last time you saw Davi and...the other one. Estafani was his name? Correct? * Roseli nods. "The military. A little over ten years for Estefani... less with Davi." * Heinrick nods and doesn't interrupt this time with questioning, letting her take it at his own pace. He's focusing more attention on her as she's talking now. * Roseli doesn't seem to really want to continue, taking her sweet time finishing her water, but eventually it's gone. She sighs. * Heinrick continues then, drinking more of his water. "It's something you would prefer stayed in the past, I take it." Estefani was a good guy. Like playing the guitar, didn't want to be in the military. Sorta got pushed into hit by his parents. Davi... very competent, wanted to help, but had trouble taking orders. Got on Estefani's case a lot. * Roseli shakes her head. "Were always a pair, back then." She gets up and goes to refill her water. (s/hit/it) (Aww. Child abuse would have been a perfect addition to this story though.) Davi and Estefani? Mmm hmm. * Roseli pours herself some more water and returns, sitting where she did before. * Heinrick relaxes slightly in his seat. "It would seem they still are." He finishes off the water he has left and sets the glass off to the side. * Roseli shrugs, her face blank. "Some thinks don't change." * Heinrick settles down. "And you?" * Roseli looks at Heinrick, then laughs a little, and like before, it comes out wrong. I still care about my husband. ( Ouch.... ) ( Heinrick's sitting alone with a woman in her apartment and she says something like that. o: ) (That's okay. He still cares about his wife. :D) ( So the only real loser here is Odval ) That's not necessarily a bad thing, Roseli. * Roseli shrugs, looking away. "One thing that didn't change." * Heinrick nods slightly. That was Osmar. The man Luana burned. ( For once there was a problem that fire couldn't solve :( ) I figured. And your son? * Roseli replies softly, still not looking at Heinrick, "Dead." * Heinrick pauses for a moment, staring straight ahead, his voice showing a trace of genuine concern. "I didn't know. I'm sorry." * Roseli shakes her head, not responding and clutching her glass tightly. * Heinrick stands slightly, glancing at her. "Perhaps I should go... Are you going to be alright tonight?" * Roseli nods mutely, still looking down. * Heinrick ponders for a moment. "Do you have a slip of paper and a pen?" * Roseli nods again. She puts her glass on the table, then stands, heading for the halfwall. By the phone is a small pad of paper and a pen, which she picks up and hands to Heinrick. (Genuine concern? What a fibber.) ( He's going to two-time Odval! ) * Heinrick writes something on the pad and tears it off, handing it to Rose. "I realize I may not be the best of company..." He pauses for a second, then continues, "But if you need to, you can call. It's not as if I have anything better to do this week." * Roseli takes the paper and looks at it. After a long moment, she says, "Thanks." (That would require him one-timing Rosali.) * Heinrick smirks and shrugs slightly, avoiding her gaze. "Please, you'll embarrass me..." He puts his hands in his pockets. "You have a good evening, Miss Tavares." * Heinrick turns and opens the door, on his way out. * Roseli looks up to watch Heinrick go and nods. "Good night." * Heinrick doesn't respond, closing the door behind him. * Roseli goes to lock the door, then returns to her daily routine of bumming around. [End!]
