[Day: Friday, June 5th. Time: 9:30 a.m.] (Get IC doods!) [You're in the briefing room. Woo hoo. Red team's not. They're off on an important mission to the moo,... eerm, they're off on a mission.] [Start] (TO THE MOON ALICE! TO THE MOON!) * Roseli is in the briefing room. She has a cup of coffee. She may or may not get reprimanded for such, but as of right now, drinking coffee. (For the record, Rose has been relatively scarce and untalkative (ha ha) over the week, though she hasn't slacked from training Jamie.) * Jamie is with her guardian and has only given the cofee, or perhaps her guardian one or two worried glances. * Luana is sitting and finishing off a saved piece of Badass Bar while typing away on her computer. If you're peeking, it's a letter to her siblings. * Heinrick is also in the briefing room. He does not look pleased to be in the briefing room. Nor unpleased. He is settled into his own chair with a glass of water. (Yeesh, am I the only one who's not rebelling against the no food or drink policy?) * Togo is sitting at the table, cleaning his new Winchester rifle, which is rather spiffier than his old one, in terms of design and materials. * Keiko doesn't have to peek! SHE KNOWS. She's also dressed in a long red dress, and a black cloak. That's new. She's got the blue ribbon woven through her hair. And is also not eating/drinking! (Bottom one here for reference: http://www.craftsmanshipmuseum.com/images/Kucer3rifles.jpg) (Rebelling nothing. Rose has coffee out of habit. She's very much a creature of habit.) (It's morning, she's tired, and she has shit to do.) (Lu is less rebelling and more just kinda forgot.) (Heinrick wasn't there for the policy!) [Felix enters the room. "I thought I made it clear. No food or drinks in the briefing room."] * Keiko doesn't acknowledge Felix. She's doing a sort of juggling, in the sense that she's taking random heavy objects out of her cloak and hovering them in a circle before putting them away, while looking off to her left. * Luana eeps, then stuffs the last bit of chocolate in her mouth and quickly finishes it off. * Roseli gives Felix a look that would wither something or other, but she has no power to do such. "Your boss made it clear. I forgot." At that, she stands and walks out with her coffee in hand. * Jamie winces despite not having done anything wrong. * Heinrick glances over at Felix and raises an eyebrow. * Togo finishes up cleaning the gun, and places it back in his coat. New policy I suppose? [Felix stands unwithered. Instead he hits a bunch of keys on the computer, popping up an image of the teenager you met at the nuclear power plant.] (Now I know where my CP is going!) (A gaze attack?) (YES.) (That's silly.) * Roseli returns in fairly short order, reclaims her old seat next to Jamie, and looks at the projection. (Togo should have a gaze attack. Take off his glasses, enemies get a penalty to actions from being creeped out.) * Jamie follows Rose from the door to her seat with her eyes and then looks up at the screen. * Heinrick sets down his water. He'll be damned if he's wasting briefing time taking it out. (... can I put glasses of water in the cloak and have them come out okay?) ["Section 1 decided to pass along this information. This kid is Raidou Kuzunoha the 21st. He's registered as a studen at Yumizuki high school in Tokyo, and also works as an assistant detective for a private agency. Beyond that, we know nothing about him."] (Because I can solve Heinrick's problem!) ( They grow plankton while they're missing. ) * Luana thinks along to Keiko, somewhat amused, ~A detective prince?~ * Keiko smiles a little and thinks back, ~He's... stealing my thing, isn't he?~ * Jamie blinks and waits. * Luana smiles as well. ~You're the one who decided not to go in that direction.~ ["He appeared in Germany about a month ago, and has been asking the wrong kinds of questions. So, if you run across him again, you're to detain him to find out what he knows. We may have to bring him in for a mindwipe."] * Keiko puts a sack of rice back in her coat and thinks, ~I didn't totally rule it out...~ * Roseli nods once. What qualify as the wrong kind of questions? (er, qualifies) * Keiko 's eyes flick to Felix, and then the next object that comes out of her coat is a mace, medieval style. It just goes into the cycle, though. ~Sounds like they want to eliminate the competition.~ [Felix hits some more keys, and the image disappears, replaced by another picture: President Woltheim Schoener. "As I understand it, you were involved in the defense of the President and Defense Minister back in March, against some hitmen hired by Freidrich Stolt."] * Roseli nods again. * Heinrick glances at Togo and doesn't ask the right type of questions. Because seriously, what's the point? * Jamie fidgits with her sleaves for a moment. (SLEEVES. They are not leaving!) ~Maybe. It's nice to know that there are other people our age who can handle this line of work, though.~ * Togo snorts, but let's Felix continue. * Keiko smirks thinly and thinks back, ~Yeah, maybe we can ditch this place and be go be mysterious detectives instead.~ (That's what you know! Mine convert sunlight to chemical energy through photosythasis! ;p) (Spiffy.) [He looks like he's going to ignore Togo and continue his spiel, but oddly enough, decides to answer him. "'The wrong kinds of questions' means classified, Goronov. In fact, the reason section 1 wants him so badly is because he's got an unknown method of retrieving this information."] * Roseli decides to ask something now that Togo's question was responded to: "Did his story about the mind control device check out?" (Why does everyone insist on using Togo's real name? ;_;) * Jamie blinks and is confused for a moment as she tries to work that one out, and then lets it pass by as unimportant. (Shows that they have power over him. ;P) ~Togo would have to come with us. He's very mysterious looking!~ * Heinrick says quietly, mostly to himself. "Forcing him into the section isn't likely to produce any information either..." (Using his true name binds his power to them.) (The power of lotsa guns?) ["There was... a device, found at the location in question. However, it was too badly damaged to determine its original function. And of course, Kuzunoha somehow managed to evade all of section 2 and two squads from section 1."] Saw some of his work. The kid's very skilled. ( Well, yeah. He's got his own video game and everything. ) Stopping the meltdown was priority, so wanted to avoid a confrontation if I could. ["Now, if I may continue..."] * Heinrick nods slightly. "I have no objections." ( Even if you did, you'd have to shout "OBJECTION!" into the microphone. And you don't have a microphone handy. ) (HOLD IT. I need a microphone.) (Your ward can get you one!) ["The President is giving another speech in Dunkirk tonight. We've recieved intel indicating that there's going to be another attack on him."] Do we know if this is the same group or unaffiliated? * Jamie seems to focus on Felix now. (Will it be... ninjas?) (We need to get him his own mecha.) ["The last time, you fought hitmen who worked under Coffinmaker, but had since parted ways. However, information this time indicates that the hitmen involved - six, to be precise - are Coffinmaker's direct subordinates.] * Roseli frowns. Know who's ordering the hit? Stolt is dead. ["That's a good question. Find it out. Although... I doubt you'll be able to get any information from them."] Most likely they're contacting Coffinmaker directly. Or through an intermediary. They likely know nothing other than the job itself. (Stolt's zombified corpse, duh.) [He nods. "Precisely."] Any information on what we're dealing with? ["Some." He hits some keys, and up pops a man of Arabic appearance, in a nice suit. "Kalim Masayad. Age 27, born in Saudi Arabia. Apparently not very religious. He uses a kilij, and he's very acrobatic and can apparently see in the dark."] (He uses something close to the Nasira sword! Got it.) * Luana quicks looks up 'kilij' on the 'net, then gives her attention back to the briefing. (Plus he's acrobatic. So he has to be male Nasira.) (We're so dead) (He's got both eyes, though, and can see in the dark.) (And they didn't mention anything about fire or wind sword magic?) (We don't know that he has both eyes!) [Another few key taps shrinks Kalim's picture to one corner of the screen, replacing it with the picture of an Asian woman. She's wearing black leather boots, a face mask... and a bikini. "Mayumi Kiyokawa. 29. Arguably a ninja." He pauses, glances at the picture, then says again, "... Arguably."] (Clearly we need to set him on fire and run away untill he kills himself.) * Roseli snickers. (He got a picture of her, so she can't be a ninja!) (Dude, see the people we're up against? And you're arguing about *food and drink policies*?) (If anything, we should be drinking more. Hard liquor) (That's just what she wants you to think.) ["All we really know about her is she specializes in magic, rather than in more practical ninjutsu like that man you fought in Claude Sherman's group."] * Jamie takes all the info at face value. * Heinrick nods slightly. [Summore button presses, and another woman appears. This one dressed more practical in a black skin suit. "Alina Yazinka. Polish, 25. She's their sniper. Any other capabilities are unknown."] * Roseli glances at Jamie, because that woman is probably her target. * Jamie looks up at Rose for a moment and then back at the screen. [And some more key presses.... And a... head... appears on the screen. It's a very spherical, hairless head, with completely white skin. A face that has deep inset eyes and a pudgy nose is on one side. Every where else is covered in eyes. Some are set around the head, some are on long stalks like a beholder.] ["We don't even know what the hell this is. It's been referred to as 'Mundo.' ... That's all we've got."] * Luana cringes slightly. * Roseli shakes her head slowly. (Can I tell wtf that is or what abilities it might have?) ["Apparently it's able to disguise itself as random objects. Otherwise, capabilities unknown."] * Jamie blinks at it. ( Nope! :D ) (Well, at least I didn't have to roll for it. XP) (They have a Persona!) (Presumably it's good at... skulking.) * Heinrick tilts his head to the side and regards it slowly, taking it all in. (It's going to turn out to be the podium, kill the president before we can do anything, and we'll get blamed.) ( It could happen! ) (Alright, stick knives in every object before the president gets there!) (Clearly I need to put a power ward on the podium) (Ping?) [Some more key presses leads to ... a six year old girl. She's got blong hair, and wearing a pink dress and a bonnet in the picture. She's carrying a bear that's patched with different shades of brown, one of its eyes falling off its face and held on by a string. And the bear carries a tiny little butcher knife. "Emily Bridges. English, six years old. Abilities unknown, but we do know she's already got 22 confirmed kills."] Precocious. * Jamie doesn't seem more or less interested in her than any of the others. [And more key presses. This time it's a pretty boy with long blond hair, shades, and one of those fuzzy Russian hats. "Piotr Petrov. He's the leader for this operation. Abilities unknown, but rumor has it he's trained directly under Coffinmaker, and therefore is most likely the biggest threat."] * Roseli nods. (And the Coffinmaker trained with the Undertaker, which means he can sit up from severe injury and walk on tightropes.) ["Well. If you have no more questions, I suggest you hurry to Dunkirk."] Any help with this, or is it just us? ["The President's bodyguards will be there," Felix says, in a voice that makes it sound like that hardly makes a difference.] * Roseli lets out a breath. "Great." She stands and looks to the others to see if they have anything to ask. * Togo shakes his head at Rose. * Jamie looks back silently at Rose. * Luana turns her computer off and pockets it. * Heinrick shrugs slightly. "Well, I suppose it can't be helped." He stands slowly as if to get ready to leave, but waits in case there's other questions. * Roseli moves, then, waving for Jamie to accompany her. Let's rock and roll. * Keiko is stuffing her juggling stuff in her cloak, one by one. * Jamie follows Rose out. * Togo heads out. * Luana follows her guardian. * Roseli is already taking gum out of her coat as she goes, removing a stick and popping it into her mouth. (Dude, at this rate, we should just force the President to do his broadcasts from an undisclosed location on the moon and send his speeches via satellite feed.) (I read that as gun, and was confused.) (Seriously, yes. Which is why the red team is on the moon.) (They're scoping it out.) [Whee! Suddenly (or probably not) you're at Dresden! I didn't say Dunkirk before. I said Dresden. Seriously. I'm not responsible for however it might have wound up looking on your computer screens.] (Wow, then why did I keep seeing Dunkirk?) ( I dunno! ) (Clearly because you're looking at it wrong!) (I should cross my eyes more.) (And dot your tea?) (Clearly.) [Dresden is a nice city sitting on the River Elbe. Iit was torched during World War II. But that was almost 150 years ago. It's since been revitalized and is now a popular tourist attraction. It's a very spacious city, and almost looks more like a very very large rural town than a metropolis.] (Get your asbestos suits ready, Dresden, because it's time for a flashback!) [Before long, you arrive at the Dresden Royal Special Great & Grand Hotel, a really big, really shiny hotel with golden walls and red curtains and high ceilings. This must be where the Pres. is staying. As before, there's a bunch of MiBs milling about the entrance.] (Hahaha.) [Oh, it's about 1:30 p.m.] * Roseli parks nearby and steps out, heading for the MiBs. Once she gets there, she flashes her shiny badge at them. "Roseli Tavares, section 2. Heard there's going to be another attempt today." [The MiB frowns in MiB fashion, and instead of saying anything, just nods towards the entrance.] * Heinrick sets in behind Rose and lets her do the talking since she's already started. * Keiko had a long drive. Boo long drive. She steps out and looks annoyed, stretching her neck. * Jamie takes a moment to set the minichoppers free before she hurries to catch up to Rose. * Togo hops out of the van and looks around, trying to get a feel for the layout. * Luana follows Togo's lead adn also looks around. (*and) [The hotel looks just like I described a minute ago.] * Roseli walks in. Yup. [And a familiar MiB appears. You might remember him as.... aw, fuck it, you wouldn't remember him at all. But he's the one with the slicked-back black hair and no shades.] * Roseli nods to him. "Afternoon." (Objection! Lack of shades isn't an MiB.) (An MiB with no glasses? He should be fired for being out of uniform!) (He can't be, because he does the firing.) * Keiko has her mind scanning already. She murmurs, "Too many." [He smiles, holding out his hand. "We meet again, although I'm beginning to wish it didn't have to be under these circumstances."] * Heinrick lets out a slight smirk at that. "Alas, if we did that, we probably wouldn't be doing our job." He then loses it. "Have you been briefed on the situation?" [He nods. "I never thought I'd be in this situation again. Another attack planned on the President, by a threat my men aren't equipped to handle..."] * Keiko mutters absently, "Sounds like Friday." Well, on the plus side, we seem to be putting them in a more desperate situation. Unfortunately, that means that the threat is more severe this time. [He nods. "Well, let me go over the situation for you."] * Roseli nods. She shook the man's hand, though her player didn't get that in in time. But it's better than his hand being stuck out there. (Bah. She should have totally snubbed him.) (It would have been awesome.) (Not about the snubbings, most of the time.) [He gestures at another MiB, who comes over and hands him a datacube. The man whose name you can't remember hits a key and brings up a street map. "It's much like last time. The President is going to depart from this hotel along this route, at 6:30 p.m." he indicates on the map.] ["There will be a parade, scheduled to last 30 minutes. At 7:00, the President will give a speech in front of the Frauenkirch." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dresden_Frauenkirche] ["There's already plans to illuminate the square with floodlights."] [He frowns. "The President is, as usual, adamant with going through with this. But that means it's going to be even harder to protect him this time."] ["As before, an attack could come at any time during the parade, or during the speech itself."] ["But to make matters worse, the President will be travelling in an open-roof car, waving to the people."] (He needs a Popemobile) * Keiko starts and then glares at him. " ( Keiko is speechless. ) * Keiko starts and then glares at him. "Is he... an idiot?" * Jamie doesn't say anything. (Can't blame me! I'm crazy! Watch me gnaw on my arm.) ["This means we have to be adamant in our security. We've got to make sure we've checked every possible position for snipers before the motorcade begins its route."] * Roseli presses a couple of fingers to her forehead. * Luana shrugs. ~Think of it as a challenge.~ * Heinrick looks at Keiko for a moment, then shakes his head slowly. "It could have been said more tactfully but I don't believe it's inaccurate. He will not be able to do much good, however honorable, if he is dead." One of the operatives is a sniper, so be extra vigilent on that. You got the intel on the assasssins' capabilities? [The guy looks at Keiko. "The President believes that changing his plans would be a sign of weakness. He doesn't want to give that impression. Especially not when we're finally so close to ridding our country of these damned terrorists."] * Luana thinks, somewhat sourly, ~Yes, because the work has been -so- much easier recently.~ Prudence is not weakness, but this isn't an argument we have time for. * Keiko dashes off a thought to Luana, ~A challenge is figuring out what Heinrick is thinking. This is just dumb.~ [He nods to Togo and Rose. "So I've read. Unfortunately, the area around the Frauenkirche is even less ideal for security than the location of the last speech."] * Roseli sighs. "Well." If I may suggest. So what you are basically saying is we have to guide a moth through a forest fire. (Nice analogy.) [He nods to Heinrick. "You could put it that way."] One of the assassins can turn himself into objects. We have some hours before the speech. Would like Keiko to do what scanning she can for the lurker. Objects that check out can be cleared to be used, if your men can keep an eye on them. [He nods. "We've got five hours."] How much space are you planning between where the president is speaking and the crowd? ["My men might not be prepared for this type of threat, but they're all brave and loyal."] * Roseli nods. "This way, hopefully, we can at least stop one. If we're lucky." She shakes her head. "Like a needle in a haystack." * Heinrick nods. "I was considering that too. It would depend on how much the lurker is blocked however." No way of knowing, but better than nothing. [He looks at Togo. "We have a stage set up in front of the Frauenkirche. Beyond that, we won't allow the public to get closer than thirty meters."] * Heinrick smirks slightly. "Or we could have Luana randomly set things on fire and see what squirms." ( Which I think is reasonable, but my ability to measure sux. ) (So ninety feet.) (For conversion, Brett. :P) (It is) (More like 100 feet.) (Well, roughly, yeah.) * Heinrick looks at the MiB evenly. "Good because the crowd was a *mess* last time. I don't want that situation to happen again." (Only a round or two of running!) * Roseli takes a look at the map and tries to figure out what the most likely sniping spots are. ( So, reasonable, then? :P ) * Togo nods. "Not bad, but would be better if you could push the crowd back a bit futher, give us a little no-mans-land that'll be easier to moniter. Can you extend it back out to fifty meters or so?" (Reasonable enough for me. ;P) * Luana looks at the map as well while trying to be unobtrusive. [Most of the buildings on the way and around the Frauenkirche are no larger than 4-6 stories. The downside is they all have tons of windows.] * Jamie also looks, at the map and a few of the spots closest to there via coptercam. ( Jamie, gimme an architecture roll at +2 ) 2d8+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jamie (2d8+2) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 9. (Missed by 1 ;_;) [Jamie can't really tell where the best spots to snipe from would be.] (Can I make a mil sci roll to spot more ideal sniping locations, Brett?) (Since I think it would be mil sci more than architecture. ^^;) ( Ok ) ( I think it could be both ) (It'd be tactics more than architecture, yeah.) (Wasn't it mil sci last time?) (... If that was a mill sci roll I made it exactly) (It was.) (Architecture is more weak points of buildings and such.) (And building layout.) (So mil sci tactics?) (I know mil sci! Leetle mil sci.) ( Yah ) (Still plus two?) 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8-4) and gets a natural 12 for a result of 8. ( Let me know how much you make it by, too ) (Made it by two.) 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Keiko (2d8-2) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 8. (By only 2. ;_;) 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Luana (2d8-2) and gets a natural 12 for a result of 10. (No make!) 2d8+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jamie (2d8+1) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 8. (On the dot) (Is this a free-for-all now?) (Yes, go for it. :P) (If you're trying to figure it out, FIGURE.) (Same result! XD) 2d8+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Heinrick (2d8+2) and gets a natural 14 for a result of 16. (The best sniping spots are from the BASEMENT) (Nobody would expect shots from THERE!) (Precisely!) (Hahahaha.) ( Be glad the sniper isn't Cyra. She can fly :P ) (How do we know this one can't?) ( You don't! :D ) ( D:) * Roseli frowns. "Too many options." But she starts pointing out likely sniper locations on the map. Twelve she indicates as more likely than the other six, but there are eighteen in all, and clustered around the buildings near the podium. The locations are from every direction but north. ( Oh, gimme mil sci. (tactics) rolls at +2 again ) 2d8+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jamie (2d8+1) and gets 3, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "I'm down with that. You know me." 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Roseli (2d8-2) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 6. (By four, but I think Jamie's got it!) ( Aw geez. Ok. ) (Made by 5) ( Don't bother spamming :P ) ( I guess you can roll if you really want, but there's not much point. ) * Jamie tugs on Rose's sleave. * Roseli is peering at the map, but at Jamie's tug, she looks at her ward. [That Guy is also map-staring. "What do you think?"] * Jamie points at one of the apartment buildings near a turn in the parade rout, giving it a great view of the entire road. "Uhm.. I.. ah this might be a good spot to shoot from." [He shakes his head at Togo. "The President wouldn't allow us to move the line, but I can put some men in the front rows. Maybe they'll be able to spot something.] *nods* Better than nothing. (Not with mook stats, they won't be able to.) 10 d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (10 d8) and gets a natural 1 for a result of 4 4 3 7 5 3 5 4 6 1. * Roseli looks at the spot critically, then says with some appreciation, "Good eye, Jamie." 10 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (10 2d8) and gets a natural 13 for a result of 9 5 9 12 7 5 10 9 11 13. ( Wow, no kiddin' ) Get some choppers there. Try not to let them be seen. Other locations are here, here, and here. * Roseli points out three more positions along the route. "None as good as what Jamie spotted, but should still be under surveillance." Can you spare some men for this? [He nods. "We have some on standby. The police will be cooperating with us, too." He doesn't add that the police have even worse stats than his guys, though.] * Jamie looks at the places Rose pointed too and then nods. She looks up at Rose uncertainly. * Roseli looks back, again. "Yes?" I, uhm.. I only have six. * Roseli shakes her head. "Do one pass now and another every half hour until time." * Keiko glances to the main MIB guy a moment, and then lets out a sigh and glances to Luana. ~Sometimes I forget everyone else is blind.~ ~What do you mean?~ * Jamie nods and with great releaf sends all her choppers patrolling. * Roseli pinches at the top of her nose. "" she says in Portuguese, before switching to German again: "The crowd admission only?" (Switching comps. BRB) * Togo has quit IRC (Quit: Switching comps) ~Well... why the president and not the chancellor, some idiot MIB guy might think?~ [He shakes his head. "Unfortunately not."] ~Maybe the chancellor is more sensible about security precautions?~ * JesseLman has joined #mc4 * JesseLman is now known as Togo ( re ) * Keiko smiles a little. ~Probably true. But maybe the president's the one who does stuff. Thinks he's in charge. Is in charge.~ * Keiko then shakes her head. ~Maybe pasts. Pasts always matter.~ ( We can end when you're ready ) ( Sure. ) Be aware that most of those we deal with won't need to physically cross the barrier either. So it doesn't necessarily need to be a person crossing it... ( It could be a head. ) * Heinrick pulls down his glasses and rubs the bridge of his nose. * Roseli sighs in exasperation, but one can't have everything. Or much of anything, as the case may be. * Jamie just stands silently as she watches things nobody else can see. ["As before, you've got the experience in dealing with these threats, so I'd ask that you focus on nullifying them. My men and I will concentrate on keeping the President and the civilians safe."] * Keiko rubs her collar. ~He wants to be chancellor, you know. The president. Thiniks the chancellor's stupid.~ ~That's politics for you, I guess. Although he shouldn't be casting stones when he's living in a glass house and there are snipers gunning for him.~ * Roseli nods. "The police up for flushing out any buildings or scanning civilians attending?" [He nods.] (A glass house with no fricken roof.) * Roseli looks to the others. "What do you think about flushing out the likely sniper locations?" Closer to the event. * Jamie nods. Might end up with some police casualties, but we could minimize civilian loss in those buildings and hopefully distract our sniper. * Keiko 's smile slips away and she nods slightly. I think we're better served staying close to the president. Only one sniper, and five others... we need all the forces we can muster on the ground if they make a run at him. ( Wait, you're talking about having the police do it. RETCON! ) (Yeah. ;P) * Togo nods. "s'a good plan." With the police? It's possible. At the very least, it would give them a better position to fire *their* shots if necessary. (Because lord knows they'll need all the advantageous positioning they can get.) * Keiko is silent a moment, then murmurs, ~Too... bad he'd never go for a double. Protecting you's a lot easier than protecting him.~ We should possibly get on the police frequency as well if we can. It would help with coordination of manpower. [The guy nods. "I'll see to it."] * Roseli shakes her head. "Chances are they have access to police frequency." Need a different one. But yes, good thought. * Heinrick nods slightly. An alternate frequency then. For both of us. * Roseli nods. Should have them occassionally use the police frequency as well though, so nothing is suspected. Agreed. * Roseli glances at the MiB guy to see if he has anything to add, presently. (Or comment on, etc.) [He doesn't!] [And suddenly the session ended.]
