[Sunday, June 7th. It's summer in Germany! But the hills are not really alive. And neither is the stuff Keiko is blowing up. She's standing on the second floor balcony, waiting for something to happen! Maybe it will. Mini start!] * Keiko is covered in a black cloak today, nothing else visible from the back. She seems to be repetitively pulling out random medium weight objects, tossing them towards an empty space of the grounds, and then they are crushed to bits in mid-air. * Togo jogs by, dressed in his usual exercise gear, and stops when he hears things being crushed overhead. "You getting the hang of the coat?" * Keiko looks down at him. Through the bars, it's obvious she's wearing, of all things, a red dress. She then gestures outwards. "Mostly. Sometimes it'll still surprise me. Sometimes I just let it do the thinking." Was like that with me too when I first got this thing. I'd sometimes idly reach in, not realizing I was doing it, and find random things in my hand because I'd thought about them in passing. More experience you have with it, it'll become like second nature. * Keiko mms, then replies, "Harder than you think, that is." She looks off into the distance. "Jamie shouldn't have been in that car." How do you mean? * Keiko shrugs. "Shoulda moved her with me." Too many directions. * Togo shakes his head. "I'm not exactly clear on where you are in the development of your telekinesis, but managing to elevate yourself and another person simultaneously is fairly advanced stuff. It'll come in time." * Keiko snorts. "It's not advanced at all." * Keiko looks down at him. "It's easy. Want a float?" You floated me a while back when we trained; I know you can do it. * Togo tilts his head. "If the weight isn't the problem, then what is?" * Keiko smiles very slightly, maybe not even perceptable to Togo. "I do remember. More the spike of worry." She then exhales noisily and looks up. "Don't know exactly. Shoulda been able to just move with me." * Togo shrugs. "Wanna practice dummy to work with?" * Keiko responds by gripping Togo and lifting him off the ground, unless he tries to avoid. When he gets up near the balcony, she floats off of it as well to join him in the air. Then she looks to his eyes and goes, "See? Easy." * Togo wiggles a bit at first in surprise, but this is hardly the first time he's been lifted in the air with TK, so he just rolls with it. "Well, this is a fairly relaxed setting. No pressure, no time constraints. The car thing was a bit more split-second." * Togo chuckles. "We could do this while I throw things at you if it'd help." * Keiko sighs and says, "It's all split seconds..." she trails off, then says, "Maybe. I don't run into 'too much' on my mind... much." Happens to everyone. *pauses* By the way, thanks for not getting me eaten the other day. * Keiko smirks and says, "Orders. Didn't even have the option." * Keiko 's smirk then fades away and she starts to float her and Togo around the second floor of the building, idly. "Luana woundn't have much liked it, though." Well, you can't order someone to succeed, so I appreciate it nonetheless. *winces* Yeah, she gave me some flak over that yesterday. * Keiko says, quietly, to herself, "That's Lu." * Togo nods. * Keiko sighs and says, "You're lucky she cares that much..." then she trails off and looks over at him. "... what?" * Togo tilts his head at Keiko, a bit confused. "What what?" * Keiko stops their moving. "Luana. Something's wrong." * Keiko turns herself towards him in the air, "What is it? She didn't do anything wrong last mission but talk back to the president, and Heinrick's still around." * Keiko keeps talking, rapidly, "They can't possibly be... well, maybe, they're Blitzkreig..." * Togo frowns, and shakes his head. "Nothing to do with this mission. She's not in trouble, don't worry." * Keiko frowns and crosses her arms over her chest, glaring at him. "Really?" Would you tell me if there were? Probably not, but I will tell you that I am not angry at her for anything. M'just... worried for her. * Keiko frowns, then says, "Wasn't angry I was getting from you, Togo." She licks her lips and says, "Why?" * Keiko continues, flatly, "She's doing everything you and Blitzkreig want. Should be perfect." Again, not her performance I'm worried about. Just... *rubs his neck* ... kid's been growing on me. * Togo grins slightly. "I have either the good or the bad habit of getting a bit overprotective of people I work with. 'specially kids." * Keiko smiles faintly, then starts floating them again. "Worse habits, I guess... not sure I believe you, but worse habits." * Keiko exhales upwards. "Doesn't tell me why you're really worried all of a sudden." Well, she did just have a car dropped on her. * Keiko snorts. "Telepath." 'Sides, she's fine. Playing with her computer right now. * Keiko looks aside to him. "So?" * Togo nods, and thinks at Keiko. ~There's some stuff I can't talk about... or think about... around here. I've gotta leave it at that.~ * Keiko blinks at him actually _choosing_ to think at her, then she thinks back, ~Don't have to be here.~ * Keiko keeps floating them around in a circle. ~Some things I'm trying to figure out that I can't chance discussing right now. Just know that I'm trying to do what's best for Luana as best I can.~ * Keiko says, out loud, "Fine." She sets them down behind the building and then looks up at him. "You really want to just sit around and throw stuff at me?" If you wanna practice that way, I'm game. If you wanna work on something else, or tell me to go away and work on your own, that's fine too. * Keiko is silent a moment, then shakes her head. "Not sure. Heinrick's got me on TK all the time. Could throw you around. Bricks are easy to throw. Just... hard to hit with." Wanna work on your grappling a bit more? Or were you talking about using me for target practice? * Keiko presses her lips together, then brushes her hair back. "Probably not a good idea. Never know when someone'll want your mind wiped. Grappling... works fine." * Togo nods. "I can teach you some basic throws to get people off of you. Might help with the TK, too... give you a better understanding of leverage and balance." * Keiko is silent a moment, then nods and replies flatly, "Fine." ... problem? No. * Keiko looks slightly up at him. "Just preparing myself." * Togo nods. "Okay, go change into something... a bit less creepy to practice grappling in, and meet me in [nearby training room]." * Keiko nods and turns on her heel to head into the building on the ground floor and switch it up. * Togo heads in as well! ( Set the new scene when you're ready. ) * Keiko floats into the training room in her jeans and black shirt, black cloak still on. She is fiddling with her collar as she heads in. * Togo is already in there, doing some stretching. He's wearing a clean t-shirt and track pants. "Be ready in a sec. At my age, gotta stretch properly if I don't wanna mess myself up." * Keiko shrugs and just floats there, shifting in the air. She puts her hands above her head a moent, and then stretches her neck slightly as she sets her feet down on the ground. She reaches into her cloak and pulls out a silver barette that she clamps down on her hair near the nape of her neck. * Togo finishes stretching, and stands up. As with last time, he's replaced his glasses with a black cloth tied around his eyes. "Ready to start?" * Keiko lets her arms rest at her side loosely for a moment, then both hands come up in front of her as blades, and her right foot slips back into a passable stance. Hold off on that for a sec. Principles first. * Keiko sighs and stands loosely. "Fine. Principles." ( It's a sign of how strange day-to-day things are for Keiko that a blind guy noticing her slipping into a fighting stance isn't worth commenting. =P ) Don't worry, this'll be quick. (He's 95% sighted! Which, for Keiko, is about 30%.) (Everybody's blind to her.) I've mentioned it before, but it's worth repeating... you do *not* want to be grappling with people. However skilled you become, your size and frame will always be a limitation. What I'm teaching you is strictly defensive. * Keiko replies, flatly, "Hence the TK." We're going to avoid big throws and anything that involves you going to the ground with your opponent, because the object is to let you create space. So we'll be focusing more on a variety of trips. * Togo motions for Keiko to come over to him. "Grab me by the shirt with both hands." * Keiko squints. "Trips? Foot trips?" She then walks over to him and reaches up to grab him by the shirt, both hands. No real strength here, this girl's packing a mere 4 body. She looks up at him! We'll start there. If you pick that up quickly, we'll move on to more advanced stuff. Now, I've grabbed you. *lightly grabs your left bicep* What you want to do here is quickly grab a hold of me, like you have... Move your right leg to hook outside my right leg at the knee, then quickly jerk my body to that side. Try it. ( Ping? ) (Sorry, ice cream.) ( Ah, okie ) (Also... right around right from the outside?) (What is Keiko, an olympic gymnasT?) ( You basically turn your hips to do it. ) * Keiko kinda steps past/around Togo to get that hook, sorta, and then pulls to the side, left leg shooting out to counterbalance her as she throws her weight into trying to get enough force to send him to the ground. * Togo is pulled off balance a bit, but stays up. "Not bad, but it needs to be a bit smoother. Pivot your hips to the left, hook my leg with yours, then complete the pivot like you're trying to spin around and dragging me with you. (... yeah, I'm not seeing how she can get her right around his right like that.) (But I know what you're trying to describe.) ( It's not really a 'hook', it's more setting her right leg outside his so her leg is at his knee. ) * Keiko sets back up in front of him, exhales upwards, and then steps into him again, pulling him around in a circle like he said. * Togo gets dragged down to the ground. From his back, he grins. "Good. Now why did that work?" * Keiko looks down at him before she says, "Your knee had nowhere to go." Exactly. I couldn't keep my knee straight without hyperextending it, so it buckled, leaving me on only my left leg. When you pulled me to my right, I had no chance. Basic human physiology is your best weapon... there are certain things the body cannot or will not do. Exploit those, and you can gain the upper hand. * Keiko nods slightly and rubs her arm. "Yeah... wish I knew this years ago. Picked up... a bit more when I got here." * Togo nods, and stands up, facing Keiko. "I'll teach you what I can. Let's try it quicker now, without the setup." *reaches out, grabs Keiko lightly by the shoulders* * Keiko 's eyes narrow, then her hands move forward, gripping him, and she steps into Togo, twisting again with a slight grunt. It sets her a bit offbalance, though. * Togo goes down to the ground again, then pops back up immediately. "Good. Again." *grabs Keiko a bit more firmly* * Keiko winces back with a 'tss' of pain at the grip, but then stands back up annoyed and grabs him back hard, trying it another time. * Togo goes down to the ground a bit more awkwardly this time, landing hard on his shoulder. He again pops back up immediately, and grabs at Keiko a bit harder. "Again!" * Keiko lets out a slight yelp and snaps back, "Watch the shoulders!" as she grabs back, pushing into him (not that that'd do anything) and breathing out a 'whuf' as she twists to send him into the ground, and then glares down at him. * Togo lands in a heap, and lets out a grunt of pain. "... excellent. That one was really good." * Keiko mutters, "Coulda followed it with a knee." She rubs her shoulders and adds, in a murmur, "Still kinda hurting from Eileen a while back..." * Togo gets up to a kneeling position. "Sorry, but there's a point to this. Doing this while goofing around with Luana's relatively benevolent guardian is one thing. I need you to be able to do this under duress, when you're suprised..." * Togo stands back up, rolling his shoulder. "And to know that you can go full out here and not worry about hurting me. I can take it." * Keiko nods slowly after a moment. "Alright. Fine. Makes sense." * Keiko sighs and looks upwards. "Unless I drop my knee between your legs, I wasn't that worried about it. I am not spending my time on my muscles." Muscles don't matter with this kinda stuff; that's why I'm teaching it to you. If you get someone off balance, doesn't matter how strong you are, gravity's gonna pull them down, and if they land on the wrong spot it'll hurt like hell. * Togo rolls his neck, and puts his hands lightly on Keiko's shoulders. "Regardless, let's improvise. Same position. How else can you get me off balance?" * Keiko exhales slowly out her nose, closing her eyes, then after a long moments of silence she murmurs, "Wrist. Step past. Drive back." Do it. * Keiko opens her eyes and looks to his cloth. "No? Yes--alright." * Keiko moves her hands up to Togo's left wrist, cinching around it. It takes her a moment before she steps forward past Togo and tries to take the arm over his shoulder... badly. Neither the necesary wrist twist nor any consideration of if it's just gonna hurt. * Togo is wrenched down the floor awkwardly as Keiko bends his arm back. "Good. Took advantage of the limited range of motion of my shoulder. My body naturally shifted by weight back to relieve the pressure, which let you trip me." * Keiko rubs her shoulder again. "Nnh. That hurts." Not surprised. I'm a foot taller than you, and my arms are longer. It's gonna be awkward. * Togo gets back up. "Okay, let's try this..." Meant you. * Keiko gives him the flat look of, 'A-duh.' * Togo barks out a laugh. "Appreciate it, but I'm a fifty-two-year-old monster hunter. My normal state is so sore that I barely felt that." That's the point I was making before. Doing things at practice speed and doing things at real life speed are different. I *want* you doing this in a way that'll hurt someone. * Keiko half-smiles and replies, "I'll try." Okay, something a bit different. Most people aren't just gonna grab at you; they'll be leaning into you, trying to push you around. * Keiko nods very slightly. * Togo grabs Keiko by the shoulders somewhat firmly, and pushes down and back a bit. "Let's be honest; most people'll be able to physically move you whereever they want. So in that instant they start to press, you have to react and take advantage." My weight's on my front foot right now, right? * Keiko tsses again and then says, tersely, "Mostly, yeah." *relaxes his grip* Okay. When I lean in again, as you feel me shifting my weight forward, I want you to step into me, plant your left foot into the inside of my right knee, pivot, and kick out." * Togo leans into Keiko. (I don't get the 'kick out' part.) ( Essentially, plant your foot in my knee and kick my leg out from under me. ) * Keiko steps in and tries to plant her foot actually into the back of his leg, which is awful awkward, twist on her right leg, and then... is really at a loss and off balance to boot. * Keiko exhales, annoyed, "Not quite." No, no, not in the back of my leg. Side of my knee. Imagine you're doing a side thrust kick through my knee. * Keiko steps back and smooths her hand over her front. "So much easier with Lu." * Keiko lets out a sharp exhale, looks down at his leg, then back to his face. "Go ahead." Well, she doesnt have a foot and about 80 pounds on you. * Togo moves back into position, grabs Keiko's shoulders, and leans into it. * Keiko squints a moment at him at the weight thing, then does it right this time, stepping into him, leaning back on her back foot, and then driving her left foot through the side of his leg, metaphorically. * Togo goes tumbling down forwards as his front leg goes out from under him. He hops back up, and gets back into position. "Drive with your other foot more to get more power. Again." * Keiko exhales, annoyed, then says, "You know..." before she does exactly that with another 'whuf' of exertion, and once he hits the ground she says, "... getting to knock you around doesn't mean I don't wanna know what you were thinking." She flips her hair back behind her shoulder again. * Togo hits the ground harder this time. "Better." *gets up a bit gingerly* ~You want to know what I was thinking?~ * Brett has joined #MC4 * ChanServ sets mode: +o Brett * Keiko thinks back, quickly, ~Telepath? About Luana? Of course I do.~ * Keiko rubs her neck and looks up at him, rubbing her hands together. (After the rubbing of her neck! She didn't get a third hand.) (They may be cheap, but they are weird.) * Togo takes a deep breath. ~Keiko, right now, if someone were to order you to tell them what we'd discussed, all you could tell them was that I was notably worried about Luana. I need that to stay that way for the time being.~ * Keiko grits her teeth, and then looks down and away. ~That bad?~ ( Unless Heinrick ordered you. :o ) ~Luana is in no danger... no more than any of you.~ ~When the time comes to deal with this, you will be involved, I promise.~ * Keiko sighs and wraps her arms around herself. After a moment she looks up and thinks back, eyes narrowed, ~Better keep that promise.~ * Togo droops visibly; for the first time today, he looks tired. ~I'm gonna need you there with her for this, so yeah, that's a promise I'll keep.~ * Keiko nods slightly and says, ~Alright.~ She runs both hands back over her hair, then, murmurs, "Alright, I get that one?" Yeah, that was well done. The knee doesn't bend that way, so it's forced to buckle, letting you push it out and dropping me. * Keiko nods slowly. How close are you to being able to do that with your TK? * Keiko steps back as Togo can feel the light pressure around him, she frowns a moment, and then she tries to apply the appropriate pressure to his leg. It's in the right place, but... not quite enough to send him to the ground. * Keiko then exhales and says, "Still just easier to crush you." Okay, then it's something to keep in mind for the future, perhaps. ( Shall we wrap up? ) * Keiko nods slightly. "Heinrick's pushing the telekinesis hard... might only be a couple weeks." A low chuckle. * Keiko pulls her cloak around herself and looks up at him. "You think that's a good chuckle?" Tryin' it out for Luana. She thinks it's funny. Dramatic. Not bad, but a bit more from the diaphragm. Gives it more bass. * Keiko nods slightly and lets the cloak go. "So what's next?" (Sure.) The fun and exciting world of inside ankle hooks. * Keiko sighs. "Can't wait until I can just grab you by your ankles and hold you upside down." * Keiko then looks at him. "... well, quickly." * Togo smirks. "That's the attitude I'm looking for." [And so, Keiko continues to wish she could toss Togo around like a rag doll. Is this really safe? Mini end.]
