* Roseli does not love the briefing room so much, because she can't drink coffee
there anymore. Regardless, she is there, drumming her fingers on the table.
* Luana is playing a FPS on her computer. She's just sort of okay at it, but she
seems entertained.
* Keiko will assume she was actually ordered there, and therefore actually be
there. She's wearing a red dress that's almost up to her collar on the neckline,
and is wearing a longer black cloak.
* Heinrick sits there, looking over paperwork. Because as long as they can't
have nice things in the briefing room, he can at least look busy.
* Togo is sitting at the table, tap-tapping away at his braille PDA.
* Jamie sits next to Rose, eyes closed and  hands in loose fists as she listens
for something that's not there.
* Keiko thinks at Luana, a small smile creeping over her lips, ~You have to
shoot guns for fun, and then shoot fake guns for fun? Really?~
* Luana giggles and shoots a zombie. ~I can use cheat codes if I get stuck in a
game.~
<Heinrick> (Duh. That's what Gen Enging is.)
* Keiko replies, as she starts stacking bricks on the ground next to her. ~And
in the simulation room?~
* Luana shoots another zombie. There are many of them to go around! ~Doesn't
have a story.~

<Jamie> (... You've been running the wrong sims. x_x)
<Luana> (Entirely possible!)
<Heinrick> (...haha. Tack MC4 Sims onto our Arcana Sims?)
<Togo> ( Togo cares not for your 'stories'. His sims are PURE COMBAT MISSIONS! )
* Keiko leans back in her chair as bricks continue to come out of her coat and
pile on the floor. ~So... 'look, it's a whole bunch of zombies' is a better
story than 'Rescue the hostages from these people?'~
* Keiko finally lifts her pile of bricks off the ground and adds, ~I could write
a better story than that.~
<Luana> ~If you do, I can program it!~
* Keiko looks over at Luana, then runs her finger along her collar and thinks
back, ~... maybe.~ She then looks over at the door with a soft sigh.
* Togo looks over at Heinrick. "Any word on how things are playing out? Nobody's
been talking to me."
<Brett> [The door opens! By Karin. She holds it open so that Nene can enter
behind her, then takes a seat in the Red Team section. "Good morning."]
* Heinrick looks up for a moment from his papers, ignoring Togo. He's rather
surprised to see Nene there.
<Brett> [Nene echos. "Good morning.  I've got a special assignment for you.  But
before we start, there's something you should know.  Last night Dr. Doctor
Schuhmacher exploded."]
* Luana saves her game and closes the program.
* Keiko breaks the bricks up from a pile to a slowly swirling orbit around her
head, at a slight tilt. She blinks at the... strange news.
* Jamie opens her eyes.
* Heinrick raises an eyebrow. "Really. That had to be inconvenient."
<Brett> ["It is for us.  He destroyed much of the holding facility."]
* Heinrick folds his hands. "Was he literally a living bomb or was something
implanted?
<Brett> ["Neither.  He was a robot."]
* Roseli presses two fingers to her forehead, then exchanges a Look with
Heinrick.
* Jamie blinks.
* Keiko blinks, then sputters, "He was a FAKE?" She lets out a sharp laugh and
then rubs her forehead, bricks spinning faster.
<Togo> Did anyone escape, or did the explosion wipe out the whole thing?
* Luana sighs and hits her head against the table gently.
* Heinrick stares evenly, then settles back in his chair, catching Roseli's
look. "I'm rather curious why this didn't come up in any scans."
<Brett> ["Mostly it was prisoners who lost their lives, but we did lose three
guards on patrol.  As for why nothing was detected, your guess is as good as
mine."]
* Keiko thinks at Luana, still with bricks in orbit, ~Well, look at the bright
side, Lu. The three of us could get to kill him ourselves.~
<Togo> Any notable prisoners?
<Luana> ~Gah.~
<Jamie> (<Brett> There was a were-buffalo.)
<Brett> ["Yes.  Both Hector Cayil and President Schoener died in the blast."]
<Roseli> Convenient.
<Togo> Extremely.
* Jamie doesn't know what to make of this news, so she lets it pass her by.
* Luana whimpers mentally. ~We could have just killed them ourselves! And it
would have made me feel better!~
* Roseli sets a hand on Jamie's shoulder as she talks: "What's our mission?"
* Keiko 's eyes widen a touch more, then she closes her eyes and says, lowly,
"Head Scientist." She then thinks back at Lu, ~Yeah... guess that's the problem
when there's laws.~
<Luana> ~I know. Do you see why killing zombies might be relaxing, though?~
* Keiko smiles a bit to herself, then says, ~No mind.~
* Heinrick doesn't respond to the information. Is just quietly pondering.
* Roseli looks to Keiko and nods.
<Brett> ( Log checking! )
<Brett> ["We may have located Akira Shibamura.  Remember him?"]
* Togo scowls. "Very much so."
* Roseli nods.
<Brett> ( orly? Usually you guys forget anyone who hasn't shown up in like the
past 4 sessions. )
<Roseli> (Dude, there are SO MANY characters.)
<Keiko> (Well, Togo would remember him especially.)
<Keiko> (I don't remember him!)
<Brett> ( There's way less than Arcana! )

* Heinrick nods slightly, being quiet but attentive.

* Jamie nods since that sounds like an order, or at least a plan.

<Brett> [Nene shakes her head. "No.  But he did steal Ricardo Valmont's body
when you last met him."]
<Jamie> (ZOMBIE VAMPIRE HUNTERS!)
<Brett> [Karin nods to Heinrick. "I was born there."]
<Togo> Fucking Valmont... I swear to god, if Shibamura brings *him* back...
*fades into muttered cursing*
* Keiko thinks at Luana, ~Togo seems... quite interested in this.~
* Roseli looks to Karin with something that might be like sympathy, then turns
to Nene. "And if we find him, assassinate?"
* Luana frowns. ~Well... he did have a career of hunting bad guys even before he
came here...~
* Heinrick looks at Togo for a moment. "You seem rather familiar with this."
<Brett> [Nene nods.  "Try to find out what he's up to first, but yes."]
<Roseli> Works for me.
* Heinrick frowns slightly at Nene's words.
<Brett> [Nene looks around. "Any questions?"]
* Roseli shakes her head and stands.
<Togo> I have history with Valmont and Shibamura. Particularly Valmont.
* Jamie continues to stay silent.
* Heinrick looks at Togo and closes his eyes, putting his own two fingers to his
forehead. "I see." He sounds exhausted when he says it.
<Togo> Valmont used to head up the European and American branches of Asahara.
<Togo> Shibamura's been Asahara's top scientist for years, despite dying a few
times.
<Brett> ( Actually her was just the head of the American branch )
<Togo> ( I thought I remembered him being the head of the European brance as
well. Ah well. RETCON )
<Brett> ( He was trying to revive it in Europe, but by that point Asahara was
officially dead. )
<Brett> ( Nitpicking ftw )
* Keiko looks at Togo very strangely, then frowns and thinks at Luana, ~It...
seems strange to talk of death as... temporary. If it is so temporary, why
didn't they use it on people who matter?~
<Brett> ( Actually Togo's making that up too. Shibamura has never died :x )
<Luana> ~I don't know, but... burning the corpse would probably fix things,
don't you think?~
<Togo> ( He's been believed to be dead several times, right? )
<Brett> ( I forget, actualyl. )
<Roseli> (I think he was believed dead but never actually died.)
<Brett> ( Maybe in MC3 he was. )
<Togo> I've had numerous run-ins with the latter over the years, and the
former... is responsible for my taste in eyewear.
* Heinrick looks over very pointedly at Togo and replies sternly. "What do you
mean?"
<Heinrick> (And actually that should have come before Togo's statement there.)
<Heinrick> (Just to point out what Heinrick's asking about)
* Luana straightens and balls her hands up into fists.
<Brett> [Nene adds, "Well, I can't see what could be gained in raising Valmont. 
He was never known to be particularly brilliant, and all of his power came from
a pact he'd made with Beelzebub.  A pact which, if I understand correctly, Togo
broke 20 years ago."]
<Roseli> Good job.
* Jamie looks at Togo and blinks.
* Heinrick shakes his head slightly. "*Someone* wants to raise Valmont though."
* Keiko 's face twists into a frown and she thinks at Luana, ~Whoa, whoa, Lu...
c'mon. Revenge is a group activity.~
* Togo nods. "I'm particularly proud of that one."
<Brett> ["His son, Emilio, did.  But he's dead now, too. I don't know what
Shibamura would gain."]
<Heinrick> Perhaps there's something we're missing then.
<Roseli> Let's not wait and find out.
<Togo> Agreed. *gets up*
* Keiko then tilts her head slightly and thinks at Jamie, ~Jamie? Why did you
recognize that name?~
* Heinrick also glances at Nene as he rises.
* Luana follows Togo out, her eyes darkening.
<Brett> [Karin gets up, too. "I'll meet you in the garage."]
* Jamie blinks again and swallows. ~Be...~ she starts again. ~Because She... Te-
was a goddess.~
* Keiko presses her lips together as people start leaving, bricks still
swirling. ~So she... knew demons? Have you seen any?~
* Heinrick does as well. He doesn't look all that pleased.
* Roseli nods to Karin. "Jamie, load your things. Heinrick, I need to talk to
you."
* Jamie shakes her head and stands up. ~No.~
* Jamie leaves to go do what Rose said.
* Heinrick blinks and stops himself for a moment. "Alright. Keiko, I'll meet you
at the garage as well." He waits with Roseli. Or goes with her somewhere else.
Whichever she's doing.
<Brett> ( FF? )
* Togo heads out to whereever they're supposed to head out to.
* Keiko runs her finger along her collar as Jamie leaves, and then sighs as she
heads out as well.
<Roseli> (Yeah, I can OOC this talk over /msg.)
<Brett> [Wheeeeeee..... Time: 12:30.  Because driving is fun!  And this place is
pretty far away.]
<Brett> [And you're still driving.  We'll say Karin is doing the driving,
because God help you if one of yours does it.  You've long since left the
freeway and are now on a mountain road.]
<Brett> [To your left is the mountain side.  To your right is a long drop that
ends in a river and quite a bit of forest."]
* Roseli got shotgun this time! Ha HA!
<Brett> [The road follows the mountain side, so it's very twisty.]
* Togo is sitting in the back, idly tossing and catching an engraved rifle
shell.
<Brett> [Karin comments. "I should warn you before we get there.  Nebel isn't
exactly the most, um... modern town."]
* Heinrick smiles at Karin slightly. "Mobs and pitchforks?"
* Keiko is looking out the window and looking slightly annoyed. She snarks at
Karin with, "We're not going there for a vacation."
* Jamie looks fixedly out the window.
* Luana is napping, regardless of the fact that she slept just fine the night
before.
<Brett> [She shrugs. "It hasn't happened yet, but who knows?  But you'll be
lucky to even find an internet connection, or even a computer."]
<Roseli> Should make finding him easier.
<Roseli> Just have Jamie look for the highest concentration of electronics in
the area.
* Togo rolls the shell between his fingers, chuckles lightly, and then puts it
back into his coat.
* Jamie looks at Rose and then nods.
<Brett> [She nods. "I guess that's true.  And Keiko will be there, so you won't
have to worry about the unfriendliness of the locals."]
<Brett> [Karin frowns. "I hope so, anyhow.  I haven't been back here since I
left."]
* Roseli nods.
<Brett> [She rounds a bend in the road, and suddenly the village comes into view
below.  It's a cozy little hamlet nestled in the valley below.  The buildings
have triangular roofs and a kind of beige color.  And there's a castle built up
in the mountains nearby it, too!]
<Jamie> (But, is there a Mako reactor?)
* Heinrick looks at Karin. "She's good but she can only do so much at a time. We
need to be prepared."
<Roseli> (Yes.  In the castle.)
<Brett> [Karin grins. "Iris and I used to explore that castle all the time. It's
abandoned.  It doesn't look it from here, but the inside is kind of in ruins."]
* Jamie watches the village get larger and larger as they near, but still not
close enough for her to listen to it.
<Togo> ( By all the laws of drama, the villain's hideout must be in the castle.

has broad shoulders.  His hair's long and greasy.  And he's wearing black slacks
and a matching coat, and a white shirt.  But most importantly, he's holding a
coffin in both hands, which he brings down towards the hood of the car.]

at her fingertip to cut through the seatbelt. "Come on!"

* Roseli curses in Portuguese and lets Luana pull Karin out the rest of the way.
"Be careful," she tells the girl, like that's really necessary.

* Roseli answers the phone with one hand while she draws her gun with the other,
snapping over the line, "What."

* Roseli sideles away from the car and keeps her gun trained on the coffin guy.

* Togo swaps out his shotgun for his Winchester rifle, and fires a blast of
white energy at the coffin guy.

* Heinrick keeps the car up since Jamie's still collecting his equipment. It
doesn't seem easy. Almost like he's lifting a whole car or something.

<Heinrick> (He kills us, he has to hire a whole new team. That's effort.)

* Heinrick steadies himself with the car. "The assassin then."

* Keiko frowns at his slipping from her grip, comms, "Too strong to hold," and
then tries another crush anyway.

<Brett> [This time Keiko doesn't have much luck, as Coffinmaker slips out of her
hold.  He staps his coffin onto his back and draws two large pistols, twirling
them on his fingers before pointing them at you.  The entire time, he retains
the same apathetic expression.  It looks almost comical.]
<Roseli> No weakness found.
<Heinrick> (Dude, twirling guns on your fingers in the *first* place looks
comical.)
<Brett> [Incidentally, the guns have engravings down the side. The left says
"Bad Moon", and the right says "Bloody Cross"]

<Keiko> (... Gungrave. That's what I was being reminded of.)

* Jamie pulls her other helebot case out of the car, and nudges the first one
with her foot, causing it to spring open and launch the bot inside.

<Brett> [Jamie shoots Coffinmaker!  The ward sticks to his arm, and diverts his
attention.  If only for the moment.]

* Luana drags Karin out to a safe place and reaches out, throwing a fireball at
Coffinmaker.

<Brett> [He doesn't even try to dodge.  And now he's on fire! Though curiously,
his coffin isn't.]

* Roseli looks at the guy, then at the coffin, then fires at the coffin.

<Brett> [Rose hits the coffin.  The bullet ricochets off the side.]

* Togo swaps out his Winchester for his LAW, steps clear of the others, and
fires at the guy and his coffin. "I hate sponges."

<Brett> [Well... Togo blows a big hole in the side of the mountain!"]

* Togo curses loudly.
* Heinrick figures the car's a lost cause at this point and since everyone's
out, throws one of his more explosive vials at him. "At the very least, we have
to keep the pressure on. His appearance is proof that we're close."

<Brett> [Heinrick hits Coffinmaker directly in the chest, blowing a hole in his
shirt.  It leaves scorched skin, too, but that already starts healing up :x

<Heinrick> Well that explains a bit of it.
<Heinrick> (No coffin damage?)
<Brett> ( A few singe marks. )
<Keiko> (Uh...)
<Keiko> (How close is he to the edge of anything?)
<Brett> ( He's more or less in the center of the road. )
<Keiko> (Yeah, uh, okay.
<Roseli> What, Heinrick?  Any hints would help.
<Brett> ( Maybe 15 feet to either edge. )
<Keiko> (Oh! That's better, then.)
* Keiko tries to grab him, then, and float him the 10 m/s she can float heavy
things towards the edge.
<Heinrick> Hyper fast regeneration. I'm not sure if acid would have any effect.
Short of that, the only option would be to immmobilize.

<Keiko> (Which is still enough to get him out into space if he doesn't make his
defense.)
<Brett> [Keiko grabs him.  Mainly because he doesn't really resist.  In fact, he
seems preoccupied with the ward on his arm, even though it's not really doing
anything to him.  But he tears it off anyhow.]
<Togo> ( And 10m < 15'. )
<Brett> [Jamie]
<Keiko> (Uh, 10m >> 15'.)
<Togo> ( Er, wrong symbol. )
<Togo> ( My bad. I'm blind and stupid. =P )

<Togo> ( Mariah once swapped out Togo's shoelaces for rainbow ones. He went
several months before anyone told him. )

* Jamie follows her guardian, aims, and then launches a power ward at the
coffin.

<Brett> [Jamie hits the coffin with a ward! To seemingly no effect.]
<Heinrick> (On the bright side, it's not nearly as bad as what Rei would have
swapped them for.)

<Togo> ( It was someone who wasn't in on the joke. Togo asked what they were
laughing at, and they answered. )

<Luana> (I know, I'm trying to figure out what to do)
<Brett> ( Decide quickly or we're moving to Rose :x )
* Luana looks frustrated and just stands between Coffinmaker and Karin's prone
body. (Hold)

* Roseli fires at the now warded coffin. Maybe THAT will do something! (One can
only hope.)

* Togo stuffs his empty LAW tube back in his coat, pulls his machine gun out,
and fires some good old-fashioned armor-piercing bullets at the coffin.

<Brett> [Togo puts a few bullet holes in the coffin.  It now has, um, a few
bullet holes in it.]

<Brett> [The acid eats partially through the coffin.  Now when one of you is
buried in it, the worms will get at your skull D:]

* Keiko decides this is boring, moves him another 10 meters further off the
cliff, and then drops him.

<Togo> ... I heartily approve.
<Brett> [Unfortunately there was another tiny cliff just 5 feet below that one.]
<Keiko> (Yes, of course there was.)
<Brett> ( I'm kidding. :P )
* Keiko then runs her hand back through her hair and says, "Hopefully you will
find out more about him before he catches up. Or he is dead."
<Heinrick> It is a shame we couldn't keep the car up though. Then we could have
thrown it on top of him.
* Roseli moves to the edge to see if he's... well... anywhere.
<Brett> [Too many trees down there to tell.]
<Roseli> Good job, Keiko.
* Togo goes over to the edge, pulls a refridgerator out of his coat, and pushes
it over the edge after the guy. "AND STAY DOWN!"
<Brett> ( Uh... No. That's a bit much >.> )
<Keiko> (Snicker.)
<Jamie> (Maybe it's a minifridge)
* Roseli holsters her gun. "Heinrick, could you pick up Karin? We need to get
her to a hospital."
<Togo> ( It doesn't have to hit. Just for humor value. =P )
<Keiko> (I don't think he wants me to have refridgerators. :P)
<Togo> ( Or an anvil! Can it be an anvil? )
<Kizn> (Too much Looney Tunes for you. )
<Roseli> Or... one of Togo's medpaks should work.
* Roseli isn't wobbling yet, but she looks like she might be getting there.
<Togo> ( Bah, there's no such thing. )
* Keiko looks over to Rose a moment, manages a bare smile, and then thinks at
Luana, ~Sorry, but it didn't seem like it was working.~
* Luana walks over to Togo and nods approvingly. "Um, Togo? What should we have
done if the cliff wasn't there? If we weren't able to hurt him, I mean?"
<Togo> Run, probably.
<Luana> ~No, thank you! I was getting frustrated.~
* Roseli opens her phone and checks the number that Raidou called from, saving
it under R.
<Brett> [Rose gets a number]
<Luana> Mm. Okay.
* Jamie sends her helecopter over the edge to see where Coffinmaker landed while
she opens the case holding her other one.
* Heinrick nods slightly as he goes to pick Karin up. "Something else wrong?"
* Togo moves over to Karin and pulls out his medpak. "How badly hurt is she?"
* Jamie looks at it for a moment and then closes the box, decideing instead to
drag it.
<Brett> [She's got a cut in her forehead, but otherwise doesn't look like she's
in danger of dying.]
* Keiko thinks at Jamie, ~Want help?~ before adding out loud, "Why are we not
moving?"
* Jamie looks at Keiko. ~Yes.~
<Roseli> Not very, just knocked out.  Pick her up and heal her so we can move.
* Roseli calls the number she just saved.
<Heinrick> (She is picked up!)
* Roseli moves, then! One can heal on the move!
* Togo takes Karin's arm and applies the medpak to her as Heinrick holds her.
* Keiko floats Jamie's case for her, then.
<Brett> [Karin recovers! "Uhhh... What happened?"]
* Jamie calls her other helecopter back and has it circle overhead once and then
explore up the road.
<Roseli> Coffinmaker.
<Roseli> The Society put a hit on us, from him.
* Roseli listens to the phone ring.
* Roseli speaks over the phone, "<Sorry we were cut short. Gonna crash soon, but
before I do. Any more info?>"
<Roseli> <Dropped Coffinmaker off a cliff.>
<Roseli> (That's all in English, btw.)
<Heinrick> Yes. Are you alright to stand, Miss Oswald?
* Roseli raises an eyebrow. "<Let's hear it.>"
<Brett> [Karin nods. "<Uh.. I think so...>"]
* Heinrick sets her down carefully. And he also wasn't speaking in English, so
she didn't need to reply as such!
<Roseli> <Wow.  Didn't know we made them so angry.>
<Brett> [Karin wobbles, but stays upright.]
<Roseli> <Amounts to the same thing.  Wish us luck.>
<Heinrick> If you need any assistance...
* Heinrick walks forward a bit but keeps with Karin. No letting her fall behind.
<Brett> ["I think I'll be alright, but thank you.>"]
* Roseli hangs up and tucks her phone away.
<Roseli> (What language is Karin speaking?)
<Heinrick> (Germinglish.)
<Brett> ( German )
<Brett> ( I got confused. )
* Roseli stumbles a little, and she winces, for once looking a bit ashamed.
"Jamie?"
* Jamie hurries up to her. "Yes?"
<Roseli> Support me, please?
* Jamie stands next to Rose and puts an arm around her.
<Togo> ( <Jamie> You are a strong and independant woman who is respected by her
peers. <Roseli> ... not like that. )
<Luana> (XD)
<Brett> ( End? )
