<Brett> [You're in a room with Karin and a bunch of computers and one obvious
exit.  The room is located in a secret lab under a secret castle on a secret
cliffside of a secret mountain in a secret village.]
<Brett> [Dr. Akira Shibamura is supposed to be here, somewhere.  Along with
another man named Peter Klein.]
<Brett> [I think that's everything.  Go!]
<Brett> [Oh yeah, Coffinmaker's still out there, somewhere.  Probably.]
<Brett> [And most of you are suffering from a few cuts and scratches except
Keiko and Jamie, who are fine, and Luana, who's got slightly deeper injuries.]
* Luana is looking extremely panicked, despite the fact that Togo and Keiko have
tried to calm her down. Also her hair is kind of messed up from Togo ruffling
it.
<Heinrick> (I forget what Heinrick got hit with. The car stuff?)
<Brett> Yah.
* Roseli checks her gun over. "So. Take him out?"
* Togo kneels down in front of Luana. "Luana. Focus. Look at me for a sec."
<Heinrick> The device is first priority. Of course if there's interference with
that...
* Luana blinks twice before her wide eyes focus on Togo's... well, total lack of
eyes. Sunglasses!
* Jamie isn't panicking about their superiors being mad any more than she
panicks about, say, large open spaces, and is still feeling pretty good from
having followed Rose's orders earlier.
* Roseli nods to Heinrick. "Of course." She glances to Jamie. "System downloaded
and erased?"
* Jamie nods.
<Togo> Take a few deep breaths. It's nothing worth getting worried about. Can't
control the red tape bullshit, so just focus on the task at hand. Keep yourself
alive, keep your team alive, get the mission done. All that matters.
<Roseli> Try to look up how the mind control works and if we can stop it from
here.
* Luana breathes deeply, then lunges forward and hugs him before quickly pulling
back again. "Freak out later. Got it."

* Jamie searches for other systems in the castle.
* Togo nods and grins. "That's the spirit." He stands and restarts listening to
the conversation around him.
* Keiko 's lip curls a bit at Luana calming herself, looking away slightly. "Are
we going to move? And if you are stopping things, the train seems a wise
choice."

<Heinrick> (I thought we were already moving down below as of the end of last
session)
<Keiko> (We don't look to be moving at all. ^^;)

<Heinrick> (We should remedy that to continue moving. Because I remember I was
moving!)
* Jamie blinks. "The other systems are erasing themselves."
<Brett> ( I see nothing at the end of last session to indicate that you were
moving. )
* Heinrick checks his equipment, and nods to Keiko, starting for the door
towards where Klein last was detected and responding to Jamie. "Failsafe?"
<Roseli> Means they know we're here.  Time's limited.
<Keiko> (Heinrick was going towards the door, but we weren't in full go mode.)
<Togo> Then let's get moving.
* Roseli nods. And gets moving.

<Brett> [Karin, who is also there in case you forgot, follows. "Anyone else have
a bad feeling about all this?"]
<Brett> [You exit the room, where in there are several bots shaped like vaccuum
cleaners with machineguns.  Disabled though.]
* Keiko smooths her hand back over her hair as she floats along, and replies
back flatly, "Yes."
* Jamie follows and fails her walk and chew bubblegum at the same time roll.
<Togo> With Shibamura involved? Always.
* Roseli nods to Karin. "Shouldn't even be here." There's a brief pause, then
she adds, "But we are. So we'll do what we can."
* Heinrick replies offhand to Karin. "Saying 'have' implies that it is mostly in
the present. I've had a bad feeling about all of this for a long time now."
* Luana follows along, growing progressively calmer.
<Brett> [You come across an elevator!]
<Heinrick> (*The elevator opens. Sho waves at you.)
<Heinrick> (Sadly only half here would get that. ;_;)
<Roseli> (*drops an elevator on Rowyn*)
<Jamie> (AH! *attempts to punch him in the face)
* Keiko 's lips are pressed together firmly in annoyance as she hits the button
for the elevator with her mind, hard, just to call it whether they'll use it or
not.
<Brett> [The elevator arrives shortly.]
* Heinrick replies to Rose. "If we take the elevator, Jamie should make certain
that other systems don't interfere. Just to be safe."
* Togo steps into the elevator.
* Keiko thinks at Luana, since they're apparently waiting, ~You feel better.~
* Roseli nods and says to Jamie, "Get on that." And she enters the elevator!
* Heinrick enters the elevator as well.

* Luana gets in. ~I can deal with 'freak out later'. Togo's right, as usual: my
comrades and the mission comes first.~
* Jamie follows Rose in.
<Brett> [The elevator goes doooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwnnn.... Actually it
just goes down.  Guess this isn't one of those super ginormous secret bases  It
opens into a corridor that ends in a set of double doors.]
* Roseli steps out and glances to Keiko. "Anyone ahead?" she murmurs.
* Keiko nods slightly and doesn't respond. Her shields are up again as she
floats forward.
* Togo steps out of the elevator, machine gun drawn, covering the door up ahead.
* Jamie readies the submachinegun Togo gave her.
* Heinrick makes his way forward, drawing out his daggers just in case.
* Luana has a gun out and ready.
* Keiko replies, "Two nearer again, one farther."
<Brett> [Karin draws her pistol.]
* Togo slowly advances towards the door.
* Roseli advances as well! Slowly. Quietly. Stealthily?
* Togo looks back at Jamie, and whispers. "Any bots?"
<Brett> [You reach the door. Hearing rolls!]

* Togo nods at Karin, pulls out a flash grenade, and holds it up for the rest of
you to see.
* Roseli nods to Togo. She glances at Jamie.
* Keiko 's eyes widen a touch, left arm wrapping around her body as her lips
part. She breathes out, "Eileen."
* Luana covers her eyes.
* Heinrick lets out a slow breath. "Wonderful..."
* Roseli hisses in her breath at Keiko's statement.
* Luana tries to send some of her calm to Keiko, but unfortunately, it's
beginning to be tinted with anger towards Eileen.
* Togo motions for Heinrick to deal with the door.
* Keiko comms, lowly, "She just took something away."
* Heinrick puts his daggers away and takes stock of his chemicals, frowning a
little and freezes the lock with liquid nitro again before readying himself.
<Togo> ( Door open in or out? )
<Brett> ( In )
<Togo> ( May I kick? =P )
<Brett> ( Sure )

* Togo charges in as the flash goes off, re-readying his machine gun and getting
clear of the door.
* Jamie looks away closes her eyes, what she's doing she doesn't need to see for
anyway.
<Brett> [Thsi is going to be wordy.]
* Luana runs in once the flash dies down.
<Brett> [Alright! The room!  The room is a somewhat large room with a bunch of
desks with holocomputers on them.  None of them are on.  The wall to your left
is some sort of transparent polymer.  Or maybe glass.  And there's another set
of double doors across the room from you, maybe 50 feet away.]
<Brett> [In the room is a guy in a lab coat, with glasses and fuzzy white hair. 
He looks very much like a scientist.  In fact, he looks strangly like that guy
you saw on the holophone in session 79.  Yeah.  That guy.  Presently he's got
his hands over his eyes and is not doing much.]
<Roseli> (That everything?)
<Brett> [But the real kicker, the one that draws Karin's attention, is the
holophone.  Or rather the person at the other end of the holophone.  A young,
slightly attractive teenage girl with an uncanny resemblance to Cyra Koenig.]
<Brett> ( That's everything. )
* Roseli decides now is a fantastic guy to tackle the blind scientist guy and
stick her gun to his head. So she does that.
<Roseli> (s/first guy/time)
<Keiko> (NOW IS A FANTASTIC GUY)
<Roseli> (YES IT IS)
<Keiko> (Then, though, kinda of a jerk.)
<Brett> [He's not that fantastic.  He's pretty generic, actually, as scientist
guys go.]

<Brett> [Rose tackles him, again eliciting a "Fuck!"]
<Brett> [The Cyra lookalike shakes her head. "Oh, Peter.  Peter, Peter, Peter. 
To think, we had such high hopes for you."]
* Roseli shoves the shooty end of her gun to his head, so he can feel it. "Don't
do anything stupid."
* Togo moves to guard the unopened double doors. "Luana, stay near Keiko."
* Jamie concentrates on tracing that phone call.
<Brett> [Karin stares at Cyra. And asks the obvious, since nobody else is. "Who
are you?"]
* Keiko sighs noisily and just mutters, "Where is Shibamura? Eileen must have
him."
* Luana moves to Keiko's side and keeps an eye on the exits. "Got it."
<Brett> [The scientist nods profously. "Nothing stupid.  Right. Don't worry. I'm
a genius.  I never do anything stupid.]
* Heinrick mutters. "Agenda after agenda..." He calms a little and keeps an eye
on the holophone, because he'll be damned if he's going to make a move with
someone else watching.
<Brett> [Cyra snorts. "Like it matters."  She turns her attention to Karin.
"Well duh.  Who do you think?"]
<Brett> ( We'll let you ponder that during the commercial break while I AFK )
<Roseli> (ZOMG AFK)
<Brett> ( Back )
<Jamie> (DUN DUN DUUUN)
* Keiko comms, "It's just him left."
* Roseli keeps her gun and attention on Peter. If anyone wants to talk to the
Maybe Cyra, that's cool, but she's busy here.

* Keiko glances over the transparent polymer/glass wall for a moment, on her way
towards looking at the screen.
* Heinrick goes over to search Peter while he's at it.
<Brett> [Cyra? grins. "I should hang up right now.  I know it.  But.... I just
can't help myself.  I've been waiting for this moment for years!]
<Brett> [Peter apparently has several syringes on himself.]
* Roseli keeps sitting on Peter to keep him from doing anything stupid, as
previously agreed upon, but Heinrick can probably reach around her.
* Heinrick makes sure to take the syringes and other sharp impliments away from
Peter. "Nothing personal. Just want to make sure you keep your promise."
* Luana is listening to what's going on but doesn't look over.
* Jamie doesn't seem to be paying attention to anything happening in the room at
all right now.
<Brett> ["So, here we are.  The Blue team and Karin Oswald.  It's too bad,
really.  I was hoping to keep you close to me, Karin.  Always so pathetic,
throwing your entire life away to make up for being a bitch when you were
younger.  But still, you're pretty enough."]
<Brett> [She looks you over. "And the rest of you... well, I won't miss any of
you.  There was a time when I might have tried to keep Jamie with me, but then
you went and made her ugly."]
* Heinrick replies while he finishes searching not looking up. "Somewhat hard to
wait for this moment for years considering our time has been rather limited
there."
* Roseli keeps her gun on Peter. "Who is she? The girl on the holophone."
* Luana raises her middle finger towards the screen without looking at it.
<Brett> [Karin stares at her.]
* Keiko 's eyes make it to the screen, then they flick to Jamie before she
replies, "Another false mind trick?"
<Brett> [Cyra glares at Rose. "Who do you fucking think? Are you seriously tat
dense?"]
<Brett> [Karin shakes her head. "This... This is ridiculous."]
<Heinrick> We've dealt with enough to not immediately take appearances at first
glance. Call it a survival skill.
* Roseli ignores Cyra and keeps her attention on Peter, who hopefully isn't so
stupid as to not answer her question.
* Keiko thinks at Jamie, ~Clarify it for me, Jamie.~
<Jamie> (AFK for a sec)
<Brett> [He answers! "C... Cyra is what they call her. She's my contact in the
Society's Inner Circle!"]
* Jamie thinks back. ~There's another Hotaru protecting her.~
<Brett> [Cyra sighs. "Why doe all scientists have to be such spineless wimps?"]
* Keiko grits her teeth. ~Hence his escape.~
<Brett> [Karin shakes her head. "But that can't be Cyra! Cyra's autistic!"]
* Keiko then replies to Cyra, with a thin smile, "Because that's how you want
them?"
* Heinrick smirks slightly. "As a scientist, I would say I resent that. If I
cared." He then looks evenly at Cyra. "But I doubt we're going to get anything
useful out of you at this point." He walks over to the holophone, ready to turn
it off.
<Brett> [Cyra snickers. "Yes.  I'm autistic due to an accident caused by my
sister when we were young.  God, that's funny. It was so easy to fake, and so
fun to watch you two suddenly act like you cared."]
* Jamie 's eyes widen as Heinrick moves and she starts to shake just a bit.
<Roseli> Jamie.  What's wrong?
<Jamie> I ... I... not yet.
<Brett> [Karin holds up a hand to Heinrick. "Wait." She steps towards the phone.
"I still don't believe you.  Iris tried to help you after.  She would have
detected if you weren't really autistic."]
* Jamie waves her hands vaugly at Heinrick and the phone.
* Keiko replies to Rose by applying TK pressure to Heinrick's wrist, as if
holding him back.
* Heinrick doesn't look like he's going to turn it off just yet and waits for
Karin to finish.
<Brett> [Cyra snorts. "I grew up with a psychic sister who was always invading
my privacy whenever she had the chance.  I had plenty of opportunity to tune her
out, show psychics what I only wanted them to see.  Project "Blank" surface
thoughts while keeping my real ones hidden underneath.  A lifetime of
practice."]
* Keiko adds, lowly, "And she wasn't around much to see you slip anyway."
<Heinrick> And a lifetime of planning apparently. And you're saying she's the
wicked one.
<Brett> [She grins. "Listen up, dumbasses. You wanted to know about the Society?
I'm in charge." She looks at Karin. "How do you think the German government
found out about Iris? I led them to her.  I even helped arrange the creation of
Section 2.  All while pretending to be the poor little autistic."]

* Roseli frowns, but she keeps her attention on Peter. Nothing stupid.
<Brett> [Then she scowls. "And just think.  A little more time and we'd have had
the mind control mechanism up and running.  But stupid Nene had to figure it out
and send you here."]
<Brett> [Karin lowers her gun. "That's why she insisted I not bring Cyra?"]

<Heinrick> Well, I suppose this is where we ask "to what end?"
<Brett> [She snorts. "Not like it matters.  We've got a backup plan ready to go
online in, oh..." She checks her watch, then grins and claps her hands. "Fifteen
minutes! Which is exactly five minutes less than you have to live."]
<Brett> [She looks at Heinrick. "Been following politics? Friggin' Bauer wants
to make a deal with the Americans.  Share our genmod capabilities for their
advances in nanotech."]
<Togo> ( AFK. I need a fucking drink. )
<Brett> ["Can you imagine what a disaster it would be if that found its way to
the public?"]
<Togo> ( Back )
* Heinrick smiles slightly. "I'll have to think about it. From what you said, I
have about ten minutes. Until then, I suppose I shall meet you in hell."
* Heinrick tips his fingers at Cyra and signs off.
<Brett> [Karin stares at the silent holophone. "That couldn't be MY Cyra."]
* Keiko snorts and mutters, "I knew something was wrong, but above my damnned
pay grade."
* Heinrick looks at Karin. "We will have time to think about *that* later as
well. For now, survival is our top priority."
* Keiko then looks over at Karin. "Of course it could be." She gestures out the
window. "The train seemed viable to Peter before."
<Roseli> Not like she says anything.  Peter.
<Brett> [Peter waves a hand. "So can I go home now? Pleeeeeeeease?"]
* Roseli keeps her gun to him. "You could be alive. If you answer the
questions."
<Roseli> This back up plan.  What is it?
* Jamie closes her eyes and then opens them again slowly.
<Brett> ["Oh, that? That was one of my brilliant fail safes. See we've been
working on the mind control machine since December when we got the technology
from Hector Cayil which was really quite incredible if you think about it
especially for a man who wasn't all that smart and who was only motivated for
the most childish and petty revenge.
<Roseli> (Cut?  petty revenge.)
<Heinrick> Smaller sentences, Doctor. Recall that our time limit is your time
limit as well.
<Brett> [Not that I can blame him since nobody likes Bauer he's such a big
sellout I voted for Vollenfield last election you know even before I got....
ahhh..." He looks at Heinrick."]
<Brett> ["Oh, right. Well, since the main mind control machine isn't ready yet,
I came up with another machine that will greatly enhance the mind control
abilities of a natural psychic. Brilliant, if I do say so myself.  I'm such a
genius."]
* Roseli raises her gun and fires it slightly to the side, missing the scientist
by inches. Just to show that, you know, it's real. "The back up plan," she
reminds him.
<Roseli> (Oh, okay.  Nix what Rose just did.)
<Heinrick> That Eileen Rhodes took with her moments before we arrived, correct?
<Brett> ["Oh no.  Eileen just stopped in for some of the formula that keeps
people from falling under the influence, so to speak."]
* Heinrick raises an eyebrow at that.
<Brett> ["She's quite a pretty girl, but I fear that maiming small children
hasn't done much for her social life."]
<Heinrick> To prevent others in the Society from falling prey, I take it?
<Brett> ["Well, yes.  It wouldn't do to have everyone mind controlled, would it?
Nobody would be able to give any orders and we'd all just stand around like
dumbkopfs until we died of starvation."]
<Roseli> Two questions.
* Heinrick nods slightly.
<Roseli> Where is this device and do you have any more of that formula?
<Brett> ["I don't know and no.  But I know how to make it."]
<Roseli> How long does it take?
<Brett> ["Longer than fifteen minutes."]
<Heinrick> Which leads us to the escape plan.
* Roseli bites out a curse in Portuguese, but she keeps her gun on her target.
* Keiko tries a different tack. "Do you have a prototype of that machine here?"
<Brett> ["Of course not. I sent everything to the head scientist days ago."]
<Roseli> Who is he?
<Heinrick> I believe it's important that we know what will happen in 10 minutes.
We can ask details later perhaps?
<Brett> ["A man who thinks he's smarter than he is. Seriously I should be the
head scientist it was MY genius that created the mind control devices he's just
the one who decided how to use them and provided me with some information but
STILL I deserve it more and he's not even German for God's sake..."]
<Brett> [Karin stares at the holophone. Which is still off.]
<Heinrick> We can debate scientific genius later. The failsafe triggered in ten
minutes. What is it?
* Keiko is starting to drum her fingers against her stomach and glance out
towards the train again.
<Brett> [He blinks. "Fuck! I forgot! If you assholes hadn't broken in here they
wouldn't be sending a low yieled nuke right about now."]
<Brett> [That snaps Karin out of her chance. She stares at the doctor wide-eyed,
then casts a glance at the rest of you.]
* Heinrick nods slightly. "I assume you had an escape route?"
* Luana looks over, then snaps her focus back to the exits. ~...I think I might
be starting to hate this job.~
* Heinrick 's calm. "If that train will take us out of here, that would probably
be best.
* Keiko thinks back, ~That's the spirit.~
<Brett> ["Well, yeah."]
* Keiko chuckles faintly and adds, ~I'll get you to go off and run a flower shop
yet.~
<Luana> ~I can't imagine Togo selling flowers.~
* Roseli decides that's enough and gets off of him, yanking Klein to his feet.
"Cuff him. Let's move."
* Togo looks back. "Rose, call HQ, tell them to pull back their chopper."
* Heinrick nods slightly. "Appears well enough to me. Jamie, check it as we go.
We don't want any interference and they would probably attempt to tamper with
it." He goes over quickly to cuff Klein and take him with.
<Keiko> (What's the largest thing in the room that I can lift and use to break
the window?)
<Brett> [Klein frowns. "Uh, there's just one problem."]
<Brett> ( Probably a desk. )
* Jamie checks the the train for anything strange.
* Heinrick then looks at Togo. "You still trust HQ at this point, Togo? I'm
impressed."
* Roseli shoves Klein into Togo and Heinrick's care, then, and holsters her gun.
She eyes Klein.
<Brett> ["You know what the Inner Councilwoman was talking about? With the
nanomachines and genmod process?"]
<Roseli> (Start breaking!)
* Keiko thinks back at her, as a desk hovers off the ground, ~He can deliver
them, with a smile.~
* Togo puts away his machine gun and takes hold of Klein. "Yeah?"
<Keiko> ~Perhaps a jaunty dance.~
<Brett> [The drop below to the train is about twenty feet, Y'know.]
<Luana> ~I've never seen Togo dance. Have you?~
<Keiko> (Piece of cake.)
* Togo turns to Heinrick. "'course not. But no need to get a couple of poor
chopper pilots nuked."
<Roseli> (srsly, big deal.)
* Keiko thinks back, ~Just hand to hand.~ Then she slams the desk into the
window as hard as she can.
<Brett> ["Well.  See, if that got out to the public than everyone and his mother
would be able to instantly change their genetic makeup to whatever they want. 
At least ideally, in the future.  In actuality the change would..."]
<Brett> [He coughs.  "The change would take several...."]
<Brett> [He coughs again, spitting up a black substance.  Then he smiles. "Oh
dear."]
* Heinrick sighs. "I was afraid of this."
* Heinrick checks him over for a medical diagnosis and any quick way to
stablize.
<Luana> ~If this turns into a zombie movie, we run, okay?~
<Keiko> (Did I break window?)
<Brett> [Annnnnnnd suddenly his back buldges outwards, turning him into an
instant hunchback.  His arms expand, becoming thicker and shattering the
handcuffs.  His glasses crack as his neck apparently melts away, leaving his
head protruding from a muscular body that's beginning to turn red.  His canines
enlarge, and spikes begin to jutt out from his body.]

* Togo pulls some rope out of his coat, ties it off to something semi-sturdy,
and tosses it out the window down to the train. "Let's go!"

<Brett> [Karin looks down the twenty foot drop between this room and the train
platform. "How will we...? Oh."]
<Brett> ( Nope. Now he's shrinking. )
* Luana grabs onto the rope and starts climbing out and down.
* Keiko finishes floating Jamie down, asks her softly, "Get in," and then turns
towards the window, only to see Luana start rappeling. "... or that. Okay."
* Jamie gets in the train and starts making he way to the front, because that's
where you're supposed to drive tanks from.
<Jamie> (er TRAINS)
<Brett> [Karin glances at her arm.  There's a red spot from where the flesh has
burned.]
* Togo looks at the remaining guardians. "Down the rope, I'll cover."
* Heinrick holds out his daggers just in case, keeping an eye on Klein. "We'll
make sure to cover it once we get on the train. If you can climb, then go."
<Heinrick> (*to Karin.)
<Brett> [Karin goes down the rope.  She manages to make it, despite the injury
to her arm.]
* Roseli urges Karin to the arm. "Let's go."
<Roseli> (s/arm/window)
<Roseli> (Wow, I suck at this.)
* Roseli goes down the rope next!
<Brett> ( Third time's a charm. )
* Heinrick nods to Togo and makes his way after Rose.
<Brett> [Luckily Klein got a crit fail and doesn't get up.]
<Brett> [The train, by the way, is three cars: Two storage cars (one with a
prototype bot, one empty) and an engine.]
* Keiko thinks at Luana, when she gets down, ~He all taken care of?~
<Luana> ~As far as I could tell.~
* Roseli looks for an entrance! A door? A SOMETHING?
<Brett> [There is a door!]
* Luana holsters her gun as she moves onto the train. ~So, is this thing
automated or is there a human driver?~
<Brett> [Which Karin opens and goes through.]
<Keiko> (Jamie had already entered, so I'd hoped so!)
* Togo makes his way down the rope as well.
* Jamie disables the bot in passing as she makes her way to the front.
* Keiko sweeps in after Luana. ~Jamie's the driver.~
<Brett> [The bot was never active.]
<Luana> ~Neat.~
<Brett> [It's a cool looking bot though. Kind of like a lamp on a tripod.]
<Jamie> (I intend to KEEP it that way)
* Roseli gets in the train after Karin.
<Brett> [You all board the train (presumably), and it begins rolling down the
dark tunnel.]
* Heinrick gets in the train after Rose and puts his daggers away, straightening
his duster. "Job hazards. They're always irritating."
<Roseli> (Places to sit or whatever?)
<Brett> [There's two chairs and an empty box to sit on. Karin claims the box.
The rest of you are on your own.]
<Brett> ( Well, four chairs. Two in each cart. Plus one in the engine car )
* Roseli takes one of the chairs nearby and looks around, still alert.
* Heinrick sits on one of the chairs nearby Karin and settles himself in before
taking out the vial of purple liquid he had taken earlier and looking at it.
<Brett> [Nothing explodes! Not immediately, anyhow.]
* Luana sits on the floor and looks pretty comfortable about it.
* Jamie sits in the engine and concentrates on making the train go faster...
eventualy she remembers to listen ahead for the counting of a switch or other
avoidible mechanical inconvinience.
<Brett> [Several minutes pass before you experience what seems like an
earthquake and JAMIE! Driving roll!
<Brett> ]
* Heinrick then takes a breath and puts it in his carrying case, closing it up
safe.

* Roseli is collapsed in on herself by now and barely paying any attention. No

* Keiko stands next to Luana and puts her hand on Luana's shoulder. She thinks
at her, after a moment, ~Still got the psychic amplifier problem. I'm... not
sure what to resist.~
<Brett> [Jamie's superior train driving ability keeps you from derailing.]
<Jamie> (MULTI TRACK DRIFTING!)
* Roseli is rocked in her chair anyway and manages to open her eyes. "Buh?"
<Togo> Nuke. No biggie. Go back to sleep.
<Luana> ~Just focus on me. It'll be okay.~
<Brett> [Karin closes her eyes. "So much for my hometown."]
* Heinrick folds his arms for a moment and takes a breath. "Not much you could
do. The main question is where do we go from here?"
<Roseli> Nrg.
* Roseli goes back to sleep.
* Keiko replies, over comms, "Five minutes to midnight."
<Brett> [Actually it's closer to 6:30]
* Keiko then adds, "I don't know what's coming. Not sure how I could shield you
all."
* Togo shrugs at Heinrick. "What options do you see?"
<Brett> [Karin shakes her head. "I can't believe that was really Cyra.  I just
can't."]
<Roseli> Mmm'n.
* Jamie keeps the train a'rollin.
* Roseli stirs and opens her eyes again. "Mebbe not, but can't take tha chance."
* Heinrick takes a breath. "If we have her tracked down, then that would be a
primary option. Although getting in communication with Nene is probably our best
option." He adds quietly. "Returning to the base or any of our dwellings at this
time would most likely be too risky."
<Brett> [Karin nods. "I hope she's okay."]
<Roseli> Hope for Iris.
* Roseli yawns. "Money's... they're gonna use her."
<Luana> ~Hey, Keiko? Why... why would she kill us, if it was true? Weren't we
useful enough? We did a good job, didn't we?~
<Heinrick> We cannot be sure of any of the sections at this point.
* Keiko looks down at Luana. ~Which, Cyra?~
<Roseli> Need drugs.  Orders.
<Brett> [Karin frowns.  "Yeah.... That backup plan they mentioned, about using a
psychic.  I've got a bad feeling it's Iris.  Cyra..." She pauses, then says,
"The girl even said her name"]
* Roseli pinches at the bridge of her nose. "Yeah."
<Luana> ~Yeah.~
<Brett> [Karin frowns. "We have to help her."]
<Roseli> Too powerful.  How'd we get her to believe us?  Don't even have an
antidote.
* Heinrick sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "As do I when it comes down
to it. Perhaps if I can find a lab, I can synthesize some for both of us."
* Roseli nods glumly.
* Heinrick looks at Roseli. "We might."
* Togo rubs his neck. "If things get bad enough, I have... resources. Friends. I
can probably get us out of the country."
<Heinrick> If I can analyze the compound they were trying to inject Karin with,
I may be able to figure out a counter agent.
* Heinrick sighs. "Though I can't say it will be guarenteed..."
* Keiko looks back forward, is silent a moment, then thinks back quietly,
~Because it hurts to be alone, Luana. It hurts to be used. But most of all... it
is fun to be powerful. And she... likes control.~
<Roseli> Better than nothing.
<Roseli> Start there, then.
<Keiko> ~This is punishment. This is power. This is what happens to those who
cross the strong.~
<Brett> [Karin nods to Heinrick. "I hope so.  Klein's dead, so we can't get it
from him." She states the obvious!]
* Luana starts mumbling, "Did a good job... my best... -love- Germany..."
* Roseli straightens, looking more alert by the moment. "Where do we go for
this? A lab, no strings."
<Roseli> (Where are Luana and Keiko, relative to the adults?)
<Luana> (Luana's sitting on the floor, in a corner, in whatever room Togo's in.)
<Brett> ["I'm worried about the rest of Section 2 now.  Sebastian, Pavla, Dr.
Pasche, Robert..."]
* Roseli nods. She glances to Luana, then shakes her head.
* Keiko grabs her shoulder and thinks back to her, ~Stop it. This isn't about
you.~
<Luana> ~I... I know it's not! It's just- how -dare- she!~
* Heinrick pinches his nose. "It is best served if we cut off the head." He then
looks at Togo in response to Rose's question. "Togo?"
<Brett> [Karin looks up sharply. "Maybe Cyra's being controlled?"]
* Luana scrambles to her feet and looks at Keiko. ~How dare she! I worked hard,
we all did! She can't mess with us, with this -country- like that!~
<Togo> I'll make some calls.
<Roseli> Could be.  Need to get someone in range to scan for it, and it's been
impossible.
<Roseli> Iris, maybe...
* Keiko looks back at Luana, and thinks back, with a sad smile, ~What stops her,
Luana? What stops those with power from doing as they will?~ She gestures at the
guardians and adds, ~What stops them from doing as they wish with us?~
* Heinrick then takes out a syringe and injects himself, taking a deep breath.
"My last dose. I only hope it will last." He rubs his arm slightly then holds
something out to Roseli.
* Roseli blinks, then takes whatever it is. What is it?
* Togo steps to the other end of the car, pulls out his phone, and begins making
some calls.
<Brett> [Karin nods. "If we can find her.... If they're not using her
themselves..." She rubs her head. "God...  An entire nation being controlled."]
<Brett> [Togo gets no answer due to TUNNEL!]
* Heinrick hands her a syringe dagger looking pretty similar to the one Odval
gave him. "Sedative. If this doesn't last, put me out if I start to act oddly."
* Luana shouts, "We'll stop them!" Then blushes heavily as she realizes she said
it out loud.
* Roseli nods once and tucks the sedative away.
* Roseli proceeds to ignore Luana, heading to the front where Jamie is. "Jamie?"
* Jamie looks up. "Yes?"
* Togo curses as he gets no reception, and walks back to the group. "We in a
tunnel or something?"
* Keiko blinks, then half-smiles and thinks back, ~Power stops power, Luana.~
Her hand moves to Luana's shoulder. ~Only this.~
<Roseli> Good job today.
<Brett> [Suddenly you exit the tunnel! Hey, the sun's still up.]
<Roseli> (Is Jamie standing, sitting, or what?)
<Luana> ~I love Germany! I love the people, the, the freedom for scientific
progress! All of us, we all have our own powers and abilities. -We'll- stop
them.~
* Jamie is sitting in the engineer's seat and blushing a bit due to compliment.
<Luana> ~Isn't that the principle this group was supposedly founded on? To stop
terrorists and protect Germany!~
* Togo tilts his head as he hears the difference in sound as they exit the
tunnel, and goes to the other end of the car to try again.
* Keiko rubs her shoulder. ~That's what they told you. Cyra disagrees.~
* Jamie blurts out. "I-I  she I think she's near Berlin."
<Roseli> Who?
<Jamie> Cyra.
<Luana> ~Well... well, then Cyra sucks!~
* Roseli nods. "I'll let the others know."
* Keiko smiles weakly, then sighs. ~Luana, the group was founded for power.
Maintaining power. Creating power. Sustaining power. Germany's power, Cyra's
power.~
<Roseli> Jamie...
* Jamie started to look away from Rose, ahead along the tracks, but instantly
refocuses on he at the mention of her name.
* Keiko looks into Luana's eyes. ~Anything else is just what we want to make of
that.~
* Roseli hesitates a moment, then continues, "Things are going to get hard from
here. Might not return to HQ, might not report to anybody, might not even have
orders."
<Luana> ~Then we'll stop Cyra and sustain Germany.~
<Roseli> Wanted you to know that I'll do my best to make sure you're okay in the
end.
* Jamie blinks and sounds confusesed as she protests. "But you'll be here. So
I'll have orders."
* Keiko nods and thinks back, with a soft smile, ~I'd expect nothing less from
you, idealistic girl.~ She smiles weakly again and her hand goes up to Luana's
cheek, she swallows, and then she lets it drop away as she looks aside.
* Roseli smiles slightly at the protestation. "Guardians can die. But I'll try
not to."
<Brett> [Karin taps her chin. "I don't think Cyra is behind it.  I mean....
controlled or not, she can't possibly have that much influence over people. 
There's got to be someone else.  Someone either in the government or in a
position to influence the government."]
<Heinrick> I was thinking that as well...
* Luana grins at Keiko, then turns her focus to Karin.
<Heinrick> But at the moment, she is our lead to whoever that is...
* Jamie bolts out of the chair. "You can't die!"
<Togo> ( The train crashes. We all die. IRONY. )
* Roseli gives Jamie a hug. "Sorry. I'm sorry. I won't die."
* Jamie hugs her back and mumbles. "You can't die." over and over into Rose's
arm.
<Brett> [Karin nods to Heinrick.]
* Roseli rubs Jamie's back and, er, looks out the window to make sure they all
don't die.
<Brett> [Rose sees meadows and trees! And lots of mountains.]
* Keiko closes her eyes and shudders, self-hugging herself and murmuring to
herself, "Get a hold of yourself, Jamie, I do not need this..."
* Jamie does her best to reassure herself that she's not going to be alone in
the dark again Rose will be there.
* Keiko reopens her eyes and looks to Heinrick, before asking softly, "So, do
you have a plan when this starts, aside from hope Rose and you are unaffected?"
<Keiko> (hoping)
* Roseli keeps hugging the Jamie. Because sometimes, you just need the hugs.
"I'm sorry. We'll be okay. I'll do everything I can to make it happen."
* Heinrick then gets silent for a moment, glancing out the window. He then
sighs, glancing away from everyone, responding quietly but loud enough to be
heard. "All the inspirational speeches and I really have nothing I can say." He
then glances at Keiko for a moment. "If we are, there is not much we could do."
He then gets quiet. "Though if you were given the orders, would you hesitate to
finish us off?"
* Jamie nods. "Okay."
* Keiko half-smiles and replies softly, "Not if I could help it. Because I
couldn't, after all."
* Roseli pulls away and smiles a little at Jamie. "Okay. Keep driving. You're
doing fine."
<Brett> [Karin taps her chin.  "Here's what we know. One: the Chancellor isn't a
part of the Society. They all seem to hate him.  That's good for us, it means
the whole govenment won't be against us.  Two: Zukunft isn't a part of the
Society either.  In your report, the President said he had to transfer funds
from them for the Society."]
* Jamie looks up a little bit at her. "Where am I driving to?"
* Heinrick smirks. "I realize that." He then listens in to Karin before
responding further.
<Roseli> Not sure.  We'll try to come up with a location as soon as we can.
<Roseli> For now, away.
* Jamie nods.
* Roseli goes back to the whole conversation in back, which has been progressing
without her! She catches at least part of what Karin's talking about. "And some
of Blitzkrieg's in the Society's pocket," she says.
<Brett> [Karin nods to Rose. "That's probably why Lydia was removed."]
<Heinrick> There is no guarentee that none of Zukunft is involved.
* Togo calls out. "We're headed to Milano. I'm getting the details now."

<Brett> [Karin nods to Heinrick. "I don't trust them.  Not after what they did
to Cyra." She pauses. "I mean, what I thought they did to her.  But I don't
think they're one and the same with the Society, either."]
<Heinrick> But I agree with the Chancellor. He probably already knows with Nene
as a contact.
<Brett> ["If she hasn't been captured."]
* Roseli braces herself against the wall. "Impossible to unravel this. Do we
trust anybody? Don't know for sure if new or old management is under Society
control."
<Brett> [Karin frowns. "If they're not both under mind control."]
<Brett> [She adds. "They did say the machine was incomplete.  Even using a live
psychic as a backup... Surely they can't control everyone, can they?"]
* Roseli smiles faintly. "Probably can't control me."
<Heinrick> And if they still need the secondary chemical...
* Heinrick thinks for a moment. "Togo..."
* Togo hangs up the phone, and returns to the group. "There's a small friendly
lab space available in Milano. We're expected."
* Heinrick nods and waits for Togo to respond to him.
* Roseli pokes her head back into the engineish room and says, "Going to
Milano."
* Togo looks over to Heinrick. "Hmm?"
<Heinrick> How good are these people of yours at keeping someone underground?
* Roseli then pays attention to what's going on in here!
* Jamie nods. "Okay."
<Togo> If I call in the right favors, excellent. I've got contacts all across
the continent and back in the US.
<Brett> ( Can end when you're ready. )
<Roseli> Karin, one more piece of information.
<Brett> [Karin looks up at Rose.]
<Roseli> Jamie is pretty sure Cyra's near Berlin.
<Brett> [Karin nods. "That makes sense."]
* Roseli nods.
* Heinrick nods slightly and then turns to Keiko. "Keiko. I'm not going to order
you to come along."
<Heinrick> If you choose to go with Togo's people at this point, I won't stop
you.
* Keiko looks slightly surprised at this. It takes her a moment before she
glances to Luana, then back to Heinrick to reply softly, "You... know I cannot
do that. How dare you... taunt me with it."
* Heinrick takes a breath. "It wasn't meant as a taunt. However, if you choose
to come along, I expect your full support."
<Togo> Moot point. I've been making arraingements to get us all the hell out of
Germany for the past couple of weeks as an emergency backup, but things aren't
quite in place yet.
* Roseli looks out a window at that.
* Keiko wraps her arms around herself, glancing to Togo for a moment, before
looking back to Heinrick. "She has my full support. You... will get what you
need."
<Brett> [Rose sees a vineyard in the distance.]
<Luana> You saw... that things were getting bad?
<Luana> Did you know this was coming?
* Heinrick smiles slightly and looks down slightly. "I suppose that will have to
do."
* Keiko looks at him a moment, then weakly smiles. "Don't act as if you care
about the difference. It looks strange on you."
<Togo> Full relocation. If you wanna stay in the game, fine. If you don't, that
works too. Full immunity. And my people'll do their best to deprogram the wards,
under my full supervision. *turns to Luana* Not fully. Had a bad feeling, and
I've learned to trust my bad feelings.
<Heinrick> You're right. Humanity doesn't suit me, does it?
* Luana nods.
* Roseli shakes her head. "Things have been wrong for a while now, Luana."
* Keiko glances over at Togo again, then back to Heinrick. She murmurs, "Freaks
only get humanity when it is given to them, Heinrick."
<Brett> [Karin nods. "I had my own suspicions, but I never imagined anything
like this!"]
* Heinrick takes a breath. "Well I *was* intending to analyze the formula a bit
myself...though I suppose that's fleeting now."
* Keiko looks out the window herself, finishing her thought with, "The rest of
the time, it is an ill fiting dress."
