[Day: Friday, June 20th. Time: 1:25 pm.] [Place: Blitzkrieg Section 2 HQ. The shooting range. Roseli is there, ear mufflers on, and gun in hand, shooting the proverbial heads and hearts out of dummys in the distance. Her jacket is off and to one side, which shows a nice vine and rose tattoo around one of her upper arms. She's looking quite focused, that Rose, but what else is new?] [It's possible someone may visit, or we wouldn't be having this mini! Mini Start.] * Heinrick never visits. Mini over! (That's mean. :() (Worst. Mini. Ever.) * Heinrick does show up after a while, entering into the range. He doesn't have protection, but he is keeping his distance. * Heinrick seems to be waiting patiently. * Roseli fires one dummy into decimation and wastes no time in hitting a buzzer and another one flipping up - this one looks child-sized - and then working on filling its head full of holes. * Heinrick casually watches as Rose takes out the target. He doesn't try to get her attention. I mean, she's wearing ear mufflers and focused on shooting things. It's probably best not to distract her. * Roseli shoots the dummy about five times before she flips that one down and a new one up, taking a moment to check her gun, reloading it. * Heinrick tries clearing his throat at that moment. Whether it gets through the ear mufflers or not is anyone's guess. But even he knows better than to walk up to Roseli with a gun. * Roseli doesn't seem to hear him, checking her gun over one more time before rubbing a crink in her neck. Her eyes flick over him now, and she nods, removing the mufflers. "Heinrick," she says, her voice echoing slightly. ( Wait, Heinrick doesn't have protection? Well, there goes that mini. ) * Heinrick nods slightly. "Practicing?" * Roseli looks at the dummy. "Yes. Can't always get close." She turns her attention back to Heinrick. "Helped Keiko with Eileen earlier." * Heinrick sighs slightly and rubs the side of his neck. "She's going to need it. I would hope that she would target someone else by now, but I suppose Keiko is simply that intriguing." * Roseli shrugs. "Psychics. New way to make someone suffer." * Heinrick then looks up. "If you have a moment, it might be prudent to find a better location to talk. If you are available, that is." * Roseli nods. "Sure." Roseli hits a button and the dummy flips down, and she goes about gathering her coat and harnessing her gun. That done (gun harnessed, coat over one arm), she heads on out with Heinrick! * Heinrick starts to walk with her and glances over. "I could use the fresh air as well. Park or was there some other place you had in mind?" * Roseli raises an eyebrow slightly, then says, "Park's fine. Let me take care of Jamie." Can have her stay with Keiko? Don't want to leave the wards unattended. Absolutely. I'll meet you by the entrance? * Roseli nods. "In ten." And she heads off, probably to find Jamie! * Heinrick heads off in his direction as well! (Going to have Rose talk to Keiko briefly, if that's okay?) (Fine by me!) * Roseli walks about, looking for her ward, and ends up (predictably) in the hallway. She checks Jamie and Luana's room, finds she isn't there, and then goes to one of the rooms nearby: Keiko and Pavla's. * Roseli knocks on the door. * Keiko 's door just opens. She's sitting in a chair at her table. All of her drawing stuff is now gone. She has obvious bandages where Rose cut her earlier, and she murmurs, "You're not Luana." * Roseli cracks a small smile at that. "Just noticed?" She pokes her head in. "Jamie here?" * Keiko replies, "No." Oh, also, her hair is still pretty damp. Going to go off base. Want her to stick with you. * Roseli looks at Keiko again, and there's an uncomfortable pause before she asks, "You okay?" * Keiko closes her eyes. "Too much to think about." She lets out a light cough. "I--I'm fine. Cuts'll heal." * Roseli nods. "Keiko." Another pause, then another question: "Will you *be* okay? Wasn't too hard, was I?" * Keiko rubs her eyes with her sleeve. "Why does everyone want me to predict the future." I'll... I'll be fine. You're a pushover compared to Eileen. * Roseli nods. "Just-" Can hit close to home. When what was safe becomes unsafe... I understand. Just wanted to make sure training like that wasn't a mistake. * Keiko looks over at her, then looks back towards the wall. "Roseli, I... it's not you. I just... it's not you." ( There's actually a whole line of people outside Keiko's door today to traumatize her ) * Roseli studies Keiko for a long moment, then she nods. "If you need to talk, you can find me." (I've already traumatized her.) ( Like a conga line of suck ) Mind if Jamie stays with you for a little while? * Keiko shakes her head. "No. Should stay together." I'll send her here. * Roseli turns to leave and says, "Be careful." And then she's gone and off looking for Jamie! Again. * Keiko nods slowly, and lets Rose go! * Roseli does find Jamie, as it happens, and she's out the door just a little later than she had told Heinrick she would be! (Unfortunately, Heinrick secretly implanted a bomb on Rose that goes off if she doesn't show up in 10 minutes and the side trip to Jamie takes 11.) (Curses.) ( What happens if she shows up in 10:01 and gets just close enough to him that he's in range of the shrapnel? ) It deactivates if she's within sight range. () (Er, Rowyn?) (Oh. OH!) (Sorry. x.x) (I missed the stuff after "Jamie" and was waiting) * Heinrick is still waiting and doesn't even let off that she's late. "Ready?" * Roseli nods, walking towards Heinrick and shrugging on her coat in the hot summer weather. "Keiko's not looking well," she says. * Heinrick starts walking and waits till it's a bit away from the complex, then responds. "She has a lot on her mind lately. The interrogation didn't help." No. She hinted at that, with me. * Roseli falls silent briefly, then says, "Keiko doesn't talk to me very much. Don't think I was a good ear on that subject, though." Why would she? You're still a guardian. You're still a representative of her captivity. * Roseli snorts a little. "I'm more human now." * Heinrick chuckles. "We're all a little more human now I suppose." He pauses for a moment. "Though I can understand her position. We have opposite wards, you and I. Yours trusts in everything that you do. Mine finds it hard to trust a single word." No, I'm more human to her. * Heinrick looks at her slightly and stops, not quite sure where she's going with that statement. * Roseli chuckles dryly, then rubs at her eyes. "Should hear about this, Heinrick; you'd be proud. Keiko broke through." * Heinrick raises an eyebrow. "...really." I didn't even think that possible. Hm. Didn't know, either. Happened during training. Thought it was the drugs at first. Just Keiko. * Heinrick shakes his head slightly and chuckles. "Well it is fairly impressive. I'll have to talk with her about that." He shakes his head slightly. "So she caught you unprepared. That's something I wouldn't expect much from you either." (Second should be continues shaking his head.) (Because redundancy) * Roseli shakes her head. "Nobody's broken *through*." I went through defensive psychic training, back... then, but nobody's broken through. Ever. * Roseli sounds almost angry now. "Didn't know what to do. Tried to talk, but even that was hard... kept wandering. Couldn't fucking focus." But I didn't want to- to discourage Keiko. * Heinrick nods slightly and puts his hands in his pockets. "Especially when she's feeling like she might be a rapist? Yes." * Roseli blinks, and the anger disappears. "What?" * Heinrick looks at Roseli and stops again. "She didn't tell you?" No. That's what happened during the interrogation. A poor pathetic man caught in his own trap lashing out at the only thing he could... * Heinrick shakes his head. She... started thinking she's a rapist? But Keiko's interrogated others before. She's not certain. But when he called her that in his mind, it struck *some* chord. It...took some convincing. I have to say it was draining to say the least. * Roseli furrows her brow. "Keiko..." Might be a history of sexual abuse there. Distrusts men, plenty of signs. Comparing her to an abuser is the last thing she'd want to hear. Especially since she probably has existing doubts about her powers. * Heinrick starts reaching into his coat. "Anyhow, I did call you out here for a reason." He finds a small vial and takes it out, holding it out to her. "Here." * Roseli blinks at the vial, then takes it. She looks at it in her hand for a moment before holding it up to the sun. You duplicated it? * Heinrick chuckles slightly. "I couldn't wait for my contacts, unfortunately. That's...not quite a duplication." ... No? I'm...not entirely sure. It's untested... * Roseli stops walking and looks at Heinrick dubiously, waiting for him to finish. * Heinrick looks at her slightly. "It's a lessened dosage. Fairly similar as well, but with less side effects. With luck, I could work on slowly reducing the dosage..." He frowns slightly. "But I cannot guarentee it. Worst case would be that you would be just as addicted to this...even if it works, it'll take time. I suspect at least a year to cut fully down..." * Heinrick chuckles. "You have Keiko to thank for some of it as well. Though she didn't know exactly that she was working on it, so I suspect she'd just give you a blank stare..." * Roseli nods, going back to looking at the vial in her hand. Welcome. (Sorry, mischan) (Haha, it would have been funny if it weren't!) How did you... in one night? * Heinrick shrugs slightly and looks vaguely amused. "I have trouble sleeping sometimes..." He then gets a more serious look. "Quite a lot lately..." * Heinrick then looks at her more seriously. "You do understand that you would essentially be a guinea pig. It is not as if there are a lot of test subjects available..." * Roseli replies, almost in a daze: "Not the first time." * Roseli stares at the vial for a little longer, and then her jaw tightens and her fingers suddenly clench around it. She looks, briefly, like she's going to hurl the drug to the ground - before she thinks better of it and tucks it away, muttering something that sounds vile in Portuguese. ( Night all ) (Night Jesse!) * Togo has quit IRC (Quit: Sleep) * Heinrick shakes his head. "If this does not work, I would like to continue working on it." He shakes his head and smiles faintly, ironically. "I wouldn't want you to end up like me." * Roseli spits, "Arguable." She gives Heinrick a sharp look. "My new supplier." * Heinrick smiles at her. "So I'm moving from one position of control that I never wanted to another? How ironic." * Heinrick loses the smile. "I can't say I want that position." * Heinrick then looks up at the sky. "I suppose it all depends on us making it through all of this alive, doesn't it?" * Roseli turns to fully face Heinrick as he speaks, and her gaze turns into one of wonder. Before he knows it she's grabbed him, and the gun is out. "You'd better not be lying to me, Heinrick." * Heinrick looks at her calmly as she does that. He doesn't appear very alarmed, but he is fairly still, looking back. * Roseli rests the barrel on Heinrick's neck. She looks right back at him. "*Don't* be lying to me." I will fucking kill you, you understand? I don't care. I'll destroy you. * Heinrick then lets out a sigh and closes his eyes. "Regardless, as you said, I am still a supplier. So it would be very difficult to kill me. But you would have to decide if you want to take that chance." I. Don't. Care. If you were lying, about *any* of it, tell me now. * Heinrick looks at her steadily. "If I were lying, I would try to be more convincing about the certainty of the effects, now wouldn't I?" * Roseli laughs, but that must be good enough, because she flicks the safety on and kisses Heinrick instead. * Heinrick looks a *lot* more surprised by that than having a gun pulled on him. Heinrick's priorities must be very screwed up. He seems rather at a loss to do but his body does go rather stiff before his cyber arm comes up to remove her grip. * Roseli manages another kiss before the stunned Heinrick semi-pushes her away. She steps back, giving him that space, and checks her gun over. * Heinrick looks at her for a moment as she checks her gun over. "...Well then. I suppose you officially *are* insane." Fuck you. I doubt that would be very pleasant, given the circumstances. * Roseli smirks. "You know that?" She looks up at Heinrick. * Heinrick holds up his hands and then replies in a more serious tone. "...the situation is insane enough. I can't say I'm even certain *why* we were accepted back at Section 2." He sighs and looks off to the side. "Felix has been frustratingly absent for that. Although, I suppose it is just as well." * Roseli narrows her eyes. "They need us." For *what* though? And for how long? * Roseli turns and walks again, finally, as she holsters her gun almost contemptuously. "To fix their messes." * Heinrick breathes. "I'll buy that." No organization gives you up. You should know that, Heinrick. Nobody gives up a resource. We're as much a liability as we are a resource at this point. * Heinrick then gets quiet for a moment, then ponders. "...there is also Red Team." * Roseli laughs a hard and angry laugh. "Fucking liabilities." What *have* they been doing during all this? Don't know what the fuck's up with the Red Team. Don't trust them. Neither do I. We could ask what they've been up to. Won't fucking matter. Still won't trust them. * Roseli grins suddenly at Heinrick. "Why bother?" * Heinrick snorts and looks at Roseli. "I'm a scientist. I *live and breathe* information." Breathe more of it, live less. * Heinrick murmurs. "You say it as if it's that simple." It is. * Roseli looks forward. "Everything is simple. Ridiculously, complicatedly simple." Says the person whose answer to every problem is to pull a gun on it. * Roseli glares at Heinrick. "Take that back." * Heinrick smirks. "Or you'll pull a gun and kiss me again?" He sighs whistfully and lets out a sly, jovial tone. "Honestly, I'm not sure which would be worse..." He doesn't seem completely serious though. Maybe. * Roseli raises an eyebrow. "You want to try again?" * Heinrick looks back at her, losing the amused expression. "We should possibly head back. I would not want to leave the wards alone there for too long either. Especially given this state." * Roseli chuckles, looking away, towards Blitzkrieg. "Fine. You run and hide, Heinrick." Too many responsibilities right now. I'm not even sure how Odval's fairing. Section 1 is likely in a fair bit of mess as well... * Heinrick then sighs. "Plus...I've been closed off for too long as is. I'm not sure I would know where to restart." What are you talking about? * Heinrick chuckles and smiles at her. "Ramblings. Shall we proceed?" * Roseli eyes Heinrick. "Never a straight answer. It's fucking annoying, you know that?" * Heinrick answers plainly. "Yes." He walks off without anything else. * Roseli clenches her teeth, then walks after him. "Heinrick." * Heinrick waits and looks over his shoulder. "Yes?" * Roseli approaches. "I do know what you're talking about." * Heinrick nods slightly. I'm sorry. For frightening you. * Heinrick then blinks at that, looking a bit confused at the choice of words. * Roseli smiles a little, having caught up. "But it did feel pretty good." And now she walks by him, heading for the headquarters. * Heinrick just watches her for a moment, still a little confused, then loses it in his trademark smirk and shrug, speaking to himself. "I suppose I'll never understand..." He walks behind her, on the way back to HQ. (End?) [End!]
