[Day: Monday, January 23rd. Time: 8:00 a.m.] [Location: Paris, in an airplane on the way out!] [Y'all got to enjoy a 2 week vaction without even having done anything, while Alysha did all the boring work of setting up contacts, contracts, compacts, combats, conflagurations.... Well maybe not that far. But she did spend a lot of time on the computer and phone while you were out enjoying yourselves.] (We flying commercial, or am I piloting, or what?) (Alysha has a special power. She can instantly set up anything as long as it begins with a "C") [Break's over! Now you're on your way to Tangania for your first job. Yay? The plane you're in is a small, but comfortable private jet. Gordo's at the helm, but there's no door to the pilot's cabin so you're free to call to and/or chuck things at him. The rest of you are in the back, which is essentially a very small living room with two sofas and a satellite TV.] [And until someone changes the channel, it's currently running yet another new episode of Doctor Who, who's now on his 92nd incarnation.] [Start] (So he definitely found a way to break that regeneration limit) ( They hinted in the past that the Doctor might be able to regenerate more than the standard 12 times of other Time Lords ) (Yeah. I know. I was just confirming) [Alysha's not watching TV. instead she's working on her Holocomputer, like usual. "Anyone ever been to Tanigia?"] * Nigel is typing madly at his laptop. He has some notes on his lap. He shakes his head. "I am afraid not. No." * Montana shifts. He was leaning back in one of the sofas, but at Alysha's words, he moves his hat from over his face to on top of his head. "Never had the pleasure." * Shiho is watching TV and seems very interested in the program. "Nope." 'Fraid not. * Sonia is sitting back in a seat, and he hair is done up in the third style that's been seen since she was hired, cornrows that are all colored differently. She pops a gummy bear in her mouth and looks lazily over at Alysha. "Yeah, though I didn't get to see too much've the place." Had to keep my eyes forward. [She looks up from her computer, grinning. "Right, time for a history lesson, then."] * Shiho 's hair is tied back into a long braid and she's wearing black slacks and a black long-sleeved shirt, as she has been nearly every other time anyone's seen her. * Shiho mutes the TV and turns toward Alysha. [Alysha, who for the record is wearing a black skirt-suit and has her hair pulled back in a ponytail, taps a few keys on her holocomputer, probably pulling up wikipedia or something. "Tanigia, 18 years old. It fomulated after Bosnia-Hertzgowina and Montenegro combined."] * Gordo takes his headset off of one ear so he can listen better, but mostly keeps his head out the windows. [She looks up. "Rumor has it that Bosnia coerced Montenegro into joining. There's still public unrest about that."] * Sonia side-glances at Montana and half-grins. "Your favorite age, eh 'merican?" [Alysha blinks.] * Montana rolls his eyes and in a voice surprisingly like Nigel (wrong accent though), says, "Yes, Sonia. You know what's barely legal in the States. Good job." * Nigel smirks slightly and shakes his head. "So what precisely is the plan?" * Gordo shakes his head. Gotta keep up on these things, chana. [Alysha grins. "You know, I'm not much older than 18 myself." Then she's back to business. "3 years ago they discovered oil. A large well, in fact, enough to boost the country from its class as a middle income state to higher."] * Nigel nods. "Proceed." * Montana raises an eyebrow at Alysha, then looks at Sonia. ["The problem is that the is right near the border of Serbia, in an area where almost 90% of the population is of Serbian descent."] Ah. Yes well... I suppose that would be a bit of a problem, wouldn't it? A little less subtle, please? I've spent most of the last seven years in South America, I'm not really familiar with this area's politics. The Serbs would like to be Serbs with a lot of oil. ["Precisely."] * Sonia chews a gummy bear as she adds, "And Serbs n'Bosnians've been killin' eachothers for... uh, a while." Oh! Thank you. [She nods. "Terrible for them. Profitable for us."] So, which side we supplyin'? ["Whoever's willing to pay. Right now that's Tanigia."] * Nigel nods and raises an eyebrow. "That's a valid question." * Gordo nods. "How close to the interestin bits are we getting?" ["Our policy is one of neutrality. We'll supply whoever's willing to pay for our goods." She pauses, and adds, "Mostly. Unfortunately, sometimes our customers don't see it that way. Let's hope the Tanigians don't take that point of view."]" * Nigel nods and closes his laptop. "Yes. Lets." ["Today, we're heading to Kovren. General Branko Maric's expressed interest in a contract with VA. The good news is that it's no where near the oil field. The bad news is it's still close to Serbia."] * Gordo pulls up the airport info and adjusts course a bit. Well, can't win 'em all. Do we know if he's been talking about the possible contract or keeping it quiet? ["No idea. It's possible he's been looking at more than just us, too."] Do you have any information on his character or any related personal politics? ["Many military installations in Europe leave it to their base commanders to keep their bases supplied. It's not unheard of for two commanders in the same country will order gear from rival companies."] * Sonia chuckles a little. "Nice n'inefficient. Good for negotiating." [She grins, typing on her computer. "Of course. General Branko Maric, age 38. He's ambitious to rise to his level that fast. He always orders foreign, but not always from the same supplier. This would be the first time he's considered a contract with us."] * Shiho sits back and looks thoughtful. "Right. Thanks." ["I'll be meeting him for lunch here," She turns her screen around, revealing a four-star Montenegrin restaurant. She grins widely. "Montenegrin food is delicious. Too bad you can't have any. You guys will be busy making sure his guys aren't trying to kill me."] [She laughs. "But if it all goes well, I'll spring for a baklava for each of you on the way out."] ( FF? :O ) Is it too much to hope for blueprints of the restaurant and a map of the surrounding area? (Hmm, I don't think Gordo would suggest having back up in the restruant) (FF is fine) ["Can always get a satellite image. As for blueprints..." She grins at Nigel. "You'd have to ask someone with the skills to obtain them."] * Shiho smiles hopefully at Nigel. ( Aight I'ma ff ) * Nigel shrugs. "Yeah. Alright, then." * Sonia glances at Nigel a moment, then chuckles and eats another bear. (Go for it!) (Sure) * Brett has quit IRC (Ping timeout) (That's not Fast Forwarding AT ALL!) * Brett has joined #MC5 ( orz ) (Someone hit pause by accident?) ( What'd I miss? ) (You missed fast forwarding.) ( I typed stuff. Dunno if it went through ) (IF it was after you said you were going to FF, it didn't) (Yeah.) ( fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu ) [Time: 11:45 a.m. Location: Kovren airport.] [You arrive at the airport. It's a small one, used mainly for interchanges or private flights. Alysha already has a black van waiting, with easily enough room to fit you all. She stretches. "Mmmm, Weather's much nicer down south."] ["Even up here in the mountains."] (How is the weather?) [Cool and Partly-Cloudy.] (Actually, this should have been asked before we landed, how are we handling refueling the jet? Company credit card? Reimbursments? Reminding ourselves it's just a game and getting on with our lives?) * Montana settles into the end of a seat in the car and does not worry about jet fuel, for that is not his job. "Gotta agree with you there." ( Reimbursements works. ) * Sonia drops her heavy case in the back of the car and says, "It's always better down south." ( It's.... not something I really thought of. Especially since this is hardly the only plane you'll ever fly :P ) * Sonia then starts running her hands over the car idly as she walks around the passenger side. * Gordo talks with the ground crews about getting a fuel truck over. Fortunatly he can sign the bill with a phone app and doesn't have to stay here babysitting the plane. * Shiho throws her travel duffel into the trunk and takes one of the window seats. [Alysha takes a seat in the back this time. No doubt because it looks better for her to be driving by coming from the back seat. She positions herself between two other people and grins. "You'll love the scenery. The Montenegrin part of the country is beautiful. Actually Bosnia isn't bad either."] * Gordo takes shotgun. * Nigel also climbs in the back. [And you start drivin'. Sure enough, the airport's located away from the city, and you get a nice view of the mountains as you travel.] [Alysha grins. "This is fun, isn't it? Our first job!"] * Sonia drives! Woo! The driving's precision, although she doesn't seem 100% focused on it. * Sonia is still chewing on candy, too. * Montana pushes up his hat and rubs his forehead. "Yeah... never thought I'd feel like such a newbie again." This is the bit between what I'd call the better parts though. [She leans forward, looking out the window as the city approaches. "Kovren used to be a tiny village in the first half of last century. But people started migrating there around the 50s. And after the merger, tons of Bosnians decided to move there too. Now it's a small city."] No offense, but my favorite part's always when we get out and haven't been shot at. * Gordo snorts. "The drinkin' after that." THAT sounds good. [Alysha grins. "That does sound good."] * Shiho makes a face. "I don't drink. But I don't mind hanging out with you guys while you do." [The city approaches! It's a small city, where most buildings aren't taller than six storeys at most. The restaurant isn't far from the city's edge, thankfully.] Good, we need somebody not shitfaced to roll the rest of us home. That, I can do. [Alysha grins. "I do. Especially in Europe. I can't do it in the States so much. Underage."] * Nigel shrugs. "That doesn't stop most people." I'll roll drunks with you, lady. [She grins wider. "No, it doesn't."] * Sonia glances over. "The hills around here are big. That'll sober 'em up." A regular yank rebel, you are. [ You get to the restaurant! It's a two-storey red brick building with a large glass window on the outside. Inside there's a bar and a couple tables, and a stairway that undoubtedly leads to more tables.] * Montana looks about to say something, but then a restaurant appears and he decides to pay attention to that instead. "Right, so we got communication devices or what?" (How many exits?) (And what's across the street?) [Two. There's one in the back as well. Across the street are more buldings, 2-3 stories tall.] [Alysha smiles at Montana. "That'd help, wouldn't it?"] * Montana shrugs. "Would. You want me on the ceiling?" [She grins. "Now that I can't say. You guys are the security experts. You need to figure out the best way to guard me." Her grin widens. "Remember, if I die you don't get paid."] You're a pretty wry one. ["Am I?"] * Nigel nods. "Well... I'm not -exactly- what I'd call a security expert. But, I think I would be pretty inconspicuous at the bar and I can keep an eye on you." [Alysha nods.] * Gordo looks at the buildings across the street. "Makes me wish I'd paid more attention to the regular soldiering." They'll expect a visible bodyguard anyway. I'll stay near you. * Montana just sighs a little, unbuckles his seatbelt, and removes his hat. And then he starts to strip. Sadly (or not), under his clothes is a tight suit that's a slate gray color. So no naked Montana. "So no communicators then?" (Anything taller than the buildings across the street? I kinda want to get above them and see if there's anybody up there.) [Alysha grins. "There's wireless in the back."] ( Nope ) Well, pass them forward then. They're not doing a lick of good back there. * Montana smiles. "You're a lifesaver." Once the layer of normal clothes is off, he's also off looking for the communication devices. * Sonia chuckles. "Well, he's going grey, the pilot's starting on the alcohol early..." she looks over at Nigel. "You wanna keep watch from on high?" * Nigel shrugs. "Sounds alright. I " * Montana finds the coms and passes them out to the rest of the party, keeping one for himself and putting it on his ear. Then he goes about putting on a gray vest over his gun and whip, followed by gray gloves and boots. * Sonia nods a little. "Yeah. Uh, unless you want another girl on ya, I can keep movin' around and looking for action." She takes a communicator and looks it over a moment before putting it in and adjusting her shades. * Nigel takes a communicator and puts it on and looks at Alysha. "Ready when you are." [Alysha grins. "Ready when you are."] ( fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu ) * Gordo fits a communicator into his ear. "Unfortunatly, unless you're trying to hide me in a bushel of Englishmen, I don't do inconspicious very well. Ahh well." * Shiho puts in the communicator and pulls out her phone to text something briefly. "Okay, good to go." * Montana grins at Gordo. "Then go in with Shiho. Look intimidating." * Sonia nods and chuckles, side-looking at Montana. "Sure. Just wanna keep people from dying going into the first turn." I'll see what I can do. * Montana then pulls a mask/hood over his head, which is also gray. Including the eyes. Okay, that's kind of creepy. He gives a thumbs up at Sonia. [Shiho grins. "Someone get the door for me?"] (Eh?) (You mean Alysha?) ( Right ) ( Alysha ) * Gordo gets out of the van and lets her out. ( I had a character named Shiho once :X ) (SPOOKY) * Montana tries out the coms: ~Do you know where your table is?~ * Nigel heads across the street and begins to climb up to get a higher view of the area. * Shiho takes a deep breath. "Okay, game face." Her face drops into a blank expression as she leaves the car and stands by the door, waiting for Alysha. [~Nope! Let's go find out!~ She gets out of the van and looks over the restaurant. It's not so busy this time of day.] * Sonia gives Montana a slight nod and says, over comms, ~Hopin' for no surprises.~ * Gordo mutters "Amen." * Montana steps out, pats Shiho on the shoulder (and he literally has a blank face!) before heading to the back of the restaurant and entering from the service area. ~Yeah, fingers crossed.~ * Shiho heads in before Alysha, stands in the doorway for a moment looking around, then moves out of the way to hold the door open for her young boss. [Alysha heads into the restaurant, glancing from side to side. "No sign of him yet," she says.] * Sonia brushes down her just-above knee high skirt and throws up a hood from a hoodie before she starts off down the street. 2d6+10 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Montana (2d6+10) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 13. * Gordo follows Alysha in, and looks around for anybody else who looks military. "Second floor?" [Just then a blond man with a moustache comes up to you. "You must be Ms. Johnson," he says in heavily accented English.] 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sonia (2d6+5) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 13. [Alysha nods, smiling, and he continues, "The General sends his regrets, he was delayed by a pressing matter and will be approximately fifteen minutes late."] ["Really," Alysha says, as if she's not surprised.] [He nods. "If you'd like to wait, I'll show you to your table."] [Alysha nods again, and follows when the waiter leads her to a small table towards the back, but on the first floor.] * Gordo shakes his head and comms. "Hurry up and wait, some things never change." [Shortly after she sits down he leaves, returning long enough to fill her water glass.] [She takes a sip. "It's no surprise, really. I'm young, female and black. Well, half-black, technically. But by making me wait, he's trying to establish his superiority."] [She grins as she sets the glass down. "That or this is a trap."] ~Good memories.~ ~Probably both.~ * Shiho remains standing next to Alysha, looking around. ~Isn't this job great?~ She actually sounds sincere. How much could he think we stuffed inta that wee little jet? [She takes another sip. "Even if it is, we'll probably be experiencing this a lot. I'm too black for Europe and too white for Africa."] Nothing. We're only here to form a contract, remember? [] * Montana pushes open the door to the kitchen open a crack to peek through. Satisfied the coast is clear, he pushes it open more and steps around to the side, quickly and silently scaling the wall to the ceiling, where he vanishes. ~New one on me, darlin'. Right above you two.~ * Shiho 's gaze flickers up briefly, where she sees... nothing. ~...Really?~ [Alysha's eyes roll upwards as she looks at Montana without craning her neck. "Funny thing is, for all they want to posture, the advantage is ours." She grins. "They're the demand. We're the supply. We've got all the cards."] 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Nigel (2d6+7) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 18. * Gordo nods and rocks back on his feet. "Good on us." * Montana is invisible! So Alysha sees nothing. And he stays silent now, sadly not responding to Shiho. 2d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sonia (2d6+8) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 14. Attacking us at this point is stupid, since we don't have any product with us. If there's going to be any attack, it's more likely to come from his opposition. ~Might have a communications van disguised like... uh... TV repair.~ [She nods. "Though to be honest, there's not much to gain from that, either. What's the point of killing one lousey arms dealer? Unless they strike the general at the same time and make it look like we did the deed..."] Well, whichever. I'll- we'll keep you safe. Sounds like a fine plan. 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Nigel (2d6+7) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 12. 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Nigel (2d6+5) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 13. ~Oi! I found someone sightseeing up here. Trouble is that apparently the only telescope they could find came attached to a really big gun. Think we can help them out?~ [Out the window you see several men in balaclavas pile out of a TV repair van. They're armed with uzis and are running towards the restaurant and/or Sonia.] ~Several TV repairmen with guns, too.~ ( I need init rolls :P ) (How many is several?) 5 Time to run out the back, boss. ~Fantastic!~ 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Montana (2d6+5) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 14. 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Gordo (2d6+6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 11. ~Can you handle it, Nigel?~ * Gordo pulls out his pistol. ~Should sell them the gun.~ 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sonia (2d6+5) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 11. ~Probably better than Sonia can handle a van full of homicidal repairmen. So help her out.~ * Sonia freezes and tries to get out of their way! She doesn't scream or anything: it's not like the country's not at war. ( Need something from Shiho ) 2d6+11 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiho (2d6+11) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 21. (Dang, woman!) [Order - Shiho, Montana, Nigel, Sniper, Gordo, Sonia, Goons x5] [Shiho!] (My character is based partially on the ability to defend the hell out of Alysha.) (Are the goons close enough to hit with a sword?) [Since no shoots have been fired and no screaming was heard, the restaurant patrons have yet to notice the approaching men in balaclavas.] ( Nope, they're well outside the restaurant ) ( At least 2 look like they're headed to the back. ) We're going out the back, I'm in front. Gordo, guard Alysha's six. (Holding action until I have something to hit, and just getting Alysha out.) Roger roger. [Montana] * Montana unstealths to scurry down the wall and flatten himself against the wall next to the door to the back. That done, he blends right back into the scenery, invisible again. [Nigel!] (You want me to do stuff in here? Or in #nigel?) ( Other chan ) 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Nigel (2d6+6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 13. [Gordo] * Gordo puts his bulk to use and stands between Alysha and the windows. (Full defensing one of the attacks, holding the other for when Alysha moves or reaction shooting the doods with the uzis) [Sonia!] * Sonia does her best to be totally not involved in the combat, which will make it a lot easier to pull a small metal ball out of her hoodie as she runs up alongside the van, away from the combat. (I'm looking to see if there's anyone still in the van.) ( Nope ) (Alright, then, I'm gonna jump in and hotwire it if they didn't leave the keys in!) [The goons pass Sonia by, heading right for the restaurant. 3 run to the front door, 2 run to the back. The 3 in front spray bullets through the window, hitting some of the customers. Now there's screaming as people duck for cover.] [Alysha stands. "Figures this would happen on the first day."] [Shiho!] (I think Gordo has a reaction.) ( K, Gordo :P ) * Gordo fires his pistol at one of the three coming in the window. 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Gordo (2d6+6) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 10. (Window's shattered now?) (They look pretty shot up to me.) ( Yah ) [Gordo hits his target, wounding the man in the shoulder.] [Shiho!] * Shiho draws her sword and walks quickly towards the back with Alysha. ~I have our sniper. He refuses to talk, though." [Alysha follows!] [Montana] * Montana remains still, letting Shiho and Alysha exit through the doors next to him. (Ready action: trip with whip when the trio nears/passes Montana.) [Nigel! Is busy] [Gordo!] * Gordo moves back to where the girls are and attempts to doubletap the wounded goon. 2 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Gordo (2 2d6+6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 18 13. (EAT CRIT) (Oh wait, damnit, I don't have critting) [Gordo shoots him twice, once in the arm, once in the throat. He goes down and doesn't get back up.] [Sonia] (Brett might have crits anyway.) (Hotwire!) 2d6+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sonia (2d6+9) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 15. ~Great. Little busy here.~ [Sonia hotwires a van] [Meanwhile, the goons enter, firing towards the fleeing group and ignoring the other customers. Gordo, gimme a def roll.] 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Gordo (2d6+5) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 12. [Gordo avoids getting shot!] ( Also I think Montana wanted to do something ) (Sweet, are they pretty close to each other?) ( Yep ) (I want to trip one onto the other.) ( Go for it ) (Okay, so it's probably a -3 penalty or so. Precise would lower it to a -1. Let me know if it misses.) * Sonia takes off in the van, comming, ~I got their pretty van, but I can't really ram 'em now that they're inside.~ * Montana unstealths, as he snaps a whip at the nearest goon's leg and pulls, attempting to drop him right into his friend - uzis and all. 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Montana (2d6+6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 15. [Montana totally trips that dude into his bro. Fer shure ] [Shiho!] (Montana is tripping bros.) (Are the backdoor goons near us yet?) * Montana snaps a gun into his other hand, aiming it at the gentlemen. ( Not yet, but you're not outside yet either :P ) [Shiho and Alysha are in the kitchen! Where the cooks are trying not to be noticed.] (Cooks! Make a stealth roll!) * Shiho keeps trying to get her boss out. ~Sonia, we're coming out the back. Can you bring the van around?~ ~Yeah, let me wake up the dreamer.~ [Shiho gets outside, where she sees the two guys running towards her.] [Montana!] 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sonia (2d6+6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 11. (Did they drop their guns?) ( Good question ) ( Nope ) ( Neither did XD ) * Montana keeps aiming - he's faceless, kind of like them! And he approaches slowly, pistol in one hand and aimed, whip in the other. "Drop the guns or I shoot." (Readied action to shoot and whip to disarm if they don't do so.) [Nigel! Is still busy] [Gordo!] * Sonia speaks to herself as she drives her van around, saying, "Dreamer, you're gonna have to drive that van." Pause. "Yes, I know, it's clunky." A pause, then, "No, you don't get to crash it because it is clunky." A pause, then a wince. "Fokkin' domkop." * Gordo moves through to kitchen, Montana's got the goons down. [Sonia!] * Sonia heads around to the back in the enemies' van, while the group's van is... trying to go. Bumping into the curb is not helping it get anywhere, at the moment! [The goons around back take shots at Shiho, who needs two def rolls. Meanwhile, the goons out front start to rise, pointing their guns at Montana.] * Sonia says to herself, with a slight sigh, "I know, it's just the job. Help me out here." 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Sonia (2d6+6) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 17. * Montana fires at one goon's hand and snaps his whip at the other goon's gun. 2 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiho (2 2d6+7) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 13 13. (And now I'm getting Mecha to look up penalties for that, so one moment!) [Shiho ducks back into the doorway, avoiding both shots.] [Her turn whilst we wait for Montana] (Right, so.) (Gun, then whip. Let me know if either fails.) (For reference, I have three defenses before I start taking penalties.) 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Montana (2d6+5) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 8. (That's going to fail. DR the gun.) 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Montana (2d6+5) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 14. (Whip:) 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Montana (2d6+6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 13. [Montana deftly disarms both goons.] * Shiho tells the goons, "Give up or go down," and slashes out at one of them. 2d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Shiho (2d6+8) and gets 10, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "Some things just aren't meant to be." (bad dice no cookie) [The man easily ducks under Shiho's swing.] ( Um ) ( I think I gave Montana a turn where he wasn't supposed to have one ) (I had a readied action.) ( Oh right ) [Montana!] * Montana coils the whip as he keeps his pistol trained on the pair. "Hands on your heads, gentlemen." [Gordo!] (I'm just going to keep them under control, collect the uzis, etc. Unless they try to do something stupid like attack me.) * Gordo gets to the other side of the kitchen. "What's all this about then?" [Sonia!] (Okay, so I made the roll for the car, I think, with that 171) (17, even.) I'm having a difference of opinion with these two men. (So let's bring those babies around!) (Shiho's new theme song: Cell Block Tango.) ( Go ahead :P ) * Sonia and... well, someone, drive the two cars around. She comms, ~Alright, now we're both under way bringing the vans around. We'll be there in a moment." (I'd like to take my actions!) ( K :P ) * Gordo attempts to settle Shiho's difference with the two gentlemen via high velocy semi-heavy metals. 2 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Gordo (2 2d6+6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 14 15. [Gordo shoots and injures them both.] [And then they're finished by bullets to the back of their heads. Four men in military garb walk up, three in regular camos. The fourth is a tall man, bald, wearing a black berret and a boatload of metals on his chest. He's also got a mini-cape, and a large burn scar on the right side of his face.] [He says something or other to the soldiers in a language you can't understand, and two of them run off, entering the restaurant and pointing their guns at the men Montana secured. And at Montana.] [The scarred guy says, "Miss Alysha Johnson. Forgive my lateness." His English is good, with only a slight hint of an accent.] Whoa, hey. (AFK a sec) [Alysha grins. "General Branko Maric. I must say, this isn't what I expected when you invited me to lunch."] * Montana puts the uzis on the ground, followed by his own pistol. And he puts his hands in the air. * Shiho sheathes her sword. "Boss, I want to suggest we move somewhere else for the meeting. Somewhere -you've- picked, maybe." ["My apologies," says the general, "The Serbians of late have been sending skirmishers across the border."] ~Guys? Military's pointing guns at me.~ [Alysha grins wider. "Skirmishers."] [He nods. "Yes, it is unfortunate timing. You have my sincerest apologies. We will see these men brought to justice for their crimes."] * Gordo taps his ear piece. "Sir, couple'a yers have one ours." (+of) (I assume I get to pull up where I'm supposed to be in back?) [Alysha nods. She glances at Shiho and says, "My collegue is right, general. I'm afraid we'll have to move our meeting elsewhere. You ARE still interested, right?"] * Nigel enters escorting a man who has his hands tied by Nigel's belt. Nigel currently has a pistol. "Alysha, what do you think we should do with this bloke?" [He hesitates, then nods. "Of course. It is the least I can do."] [Alysha smiles. "And your men inside are holding one of mine."] [He nods again, and says something in Montenegrin into a radio. The soldiers inside release their aim on Montana and round up the goons.] [The other soldiers at Maric's side go to secure the man Nigel brought. Maric says, "Do not worry, we will thoroughly interrogate these men."] [Alysha nods. "I'm sure you will."] * Gordo puts his pistol away. * Montana breathes a sigh of relief, collects his pistol, and gives the patrons in the restaurant a cheery and faceless wave before walking out back to meet up with Shiho, Alysha, and co. * Nigel nods and hands Alysha the unassembled sniper rifle as well. "He had this. I'm not certain on the protocol, but I didn't want to just leave it up there." He also takes his belt back before he lets the man go. [Alysha looks it over, briefly, before the general says, "With due respect, this is a matter for the Tanigian military." A soldier moves forward, arm held out, and the general adds, "If you don't mind...?"] [Alysha blinks, then hands the rifle over. "Of course."] * Sonia comms, ~Sounds like things got much different. Are we giving them the van?~ [The general grins. "Thank you. Well, I shall have a secondary location set up immediately. Shall we?"] * Montana walks out back, weapons stowed away once again, as he pulls his mask off. "*That* was more exciting than I expected. How are- oh." ( FF? ) (Sure, but what happens to the other van?) (Seems reasonable, although if we get to keep the other van, I'm gonna have to stash it someplace.) ( They're confiscating it :P ) (I'm guessing they'll confiscate it.) (SO CRUEL) (srsly :/) ( Not like you could bring it with you ) (Bullets don't grow on trees dude.) (I was hoping they wouldn't realize it was involved.) (It's more that Sonia wanted to take a look at it herself. She's nosy like that.) (Anyway! I'm fine with FF.) (But if we're giving it back, okay! Don't even need to reveal the Dreamer!) (Yeah. That's fine.) (FFin' onward.) [After that ordeal, the talk is moved to another fine Montenegrin restaurant. No more people are shot up, and Alysha manages to close a deal. The lunch wraps up quickly, by 2:40 p.m.] [And then you and the general part ways, with everyone piling back into the van and heading to the airport!] [Alysha grins. "There. Our first mission is a success, if a bumpy one."] Gotta wee bit more work to do. Plane's gettin' a twice over when I get back to it. [She stretches, much to the discomfort of whoever's sitting beside her. "Actually, almost getting killed worked in our favor. There's no way he could refuse a deal after that."] Works for me. At least the general wasn't the one doing the shooting. * Sonia exhales upwards, and she's driving! "Always an upside, luv?" She snags another gummi bear. ["Not directly, anyway."] How'd you mean, directly. [She grins. "Isn't it obvious? That was pretty clearly a setup."] Yeah, but I woulda liked to take a look at the van to make sure. Didn't we already go over the reasons why him trying to kill us was a bad idea? ["Not all of them."] What, you think he's trying to make us not sell ta the other side? ["Nope!"] ["Here's what I think."] [Alysha leans forward, grinning that way she does. "Not a lot of people know this, but 20 years ago there was a critical operation in Germany that could have had global consequences. The Germans insisted they would handle it, and nearly botched the whole thing."] ["Since then the U.S. has been reluctant to get involved in European affairs."] ["Even with an oil well on the line."] (We tried REALLY HARD, okay? A for effort! D:) The government, you mean. So? (We did as well as any group of damaged murderous misfits could do!) (It's not our fault we were insane and drugged!) [She grins wider. "But what if an American civilian was killed by Serbians on Tanganian soil? Especially if it's a female teenager?"] ( Tanigia :P Got to learn my own names ) The yanks would spend weeks shouting about it and then forget the whole thing as soon as some popstar forgot her knickers on live TV. ["You're forgetting: Oil well."] ["My death would be an excuse for America to make a powergrab. Meanwhile, Tanigia gets the military support of the U.S. army.] * Sonia shrugs. "Might pull people in. Not like dead people matter, so go ahead and try it." * Nigel nods. "Lucky you had us around then, I suppose." I don't agree, unless you have other evidence you're not sharing. ["As it stands, Tanigia and Serbia are pretty evenly matched right now. But toss the U.S. in there and one side would easily overpower the other."] [She shrugs. "It's all just speculation, really. Based on observation of suspicious behavior." She grins at Nigel, "But you're right. You all performed well. Especially you, Nigel. Finding that sniper early was a stroke of luck."] Ain't luck when you go the right places. * Montana lightly punches Nigel in the shoulder with a grin. "Hear that? You might be getting a bonus!" ["And thanks to you, I'm alive, we got a contract, and the U.S. will stay out of the war, meaning it'll last longer. Meaning more profit!"] * Nigel nods. "It was nothing, really. Thanks, though." * Montana then picks up his hat and sets it on his head. He knew he was forgetting something. Good on yer. [She leans back again, grinning. "So far, so good."] ( And we can end whenever ) (Well... I have fallen asleep at least 4 times in the last hour.) ( araaaaa ) (I think we're about done, yes, heh.) (=P Because we've been up since really early) (Let's go with now then) (Haha, maybe stopping here is good then.) ( Fair enough, I'm tired too :P ) [End!]
