<Brett> [You're in the Command Center of Site Dilov-34, which is under attack by
masked men with guns and ninjas in bikinis.  Alysha surmised there's something
more than oil in the oil well, and has negotiated with the base commander to
hire you as security forces so you can find out what.]
<Brett> [You're still in the Command Center, on the second floor, right near an
elevated hallway that leads to the drilling platform. You've just killed and/or
disabled 4 dudes.]
<Brett> [Start]
* Shiho stands up from her cover and takes a moment to lift her shirt and check
the injury on her side. (She's wearing a sports bra underneath, so no one gets a
view.) How bad does it look?
<Brett> ( Beats me, I forgot how much damage she took :D )
* Montana glances at the others to see if they're ready to go. There isn't a ton
of time to spare, after all.
<Montana> (Eek.)
<Shiho> (I will assume it's bruised and keep going, then.)
<Brett> [The wound is fairly deep, but not crippling.]
* Shiho sighs at it and lowers her shirt again. "Let's keep going."
* Nigel nods and straps his crossbow back where it belongs. "Let's be off then,
shall we?"
<Gordo> Sounds like a plan.
* Sonia nods slightly, says lowly, "Yeah. Maybe I'll find somethin' to drive."
* Montana nods and sneaks ahead, then, scouting for the others as he goes.
<Brett> ( Montana, gimme a stealth roll. )

<Brett> As you make your way towards an elevator that leads to the underground
that someone told you off camera about and I totally didn't just make that up
right now, You hear voices coming around a corner.  Montana manages to stop you
before you give yourselves away, and is free to move up and listen in if he
wants.]
<Sonia> (The underground of the oil well? SAD.)
* Montana holds up a hand to indicate that they should STAY THERE, and he does
in fact sneak up and make with the listening, blending into the scenery.
* Gordo stops and looks for cover.
<Brett> [I'm too lazy to make another channel, so we'll just say only Montana
and maybe Sonia can hear what they're saying.  The good news is, it's in
English.  One sounds like a southern American, the other has a German accent.]
<Brett> [Says the American: "But what I don't git is why we need some general
from a backwater country like this."]
<Brett> ["It is what your people might call a trial by fire, mein freund."]
<Brett> ["A wut?"]
<Brett> ["He is the one who told us about the...  You know, the think ve came
for.  So they gave him a chance. If he proves useful, they vill keep him on. 
Undershtand?"]
<Brett> ["I dunno, man. An' why d'we need this ninjers. I mean they're hot an'
all, but this 'ere's a man's job."]
* Sonia rolls her eyes, looking over her glasses at Montana.
<Brett> ["That, I can't say." A pause. "Ve had better return to patrollink."]
* Montana doesn't notice!
<Brett> [The American chuckles. "Yeah, I bet they don't like employees taking
breaks during an operation, huh?"]
<Brett> [Silence then after!]
<Gordo> (So, have they decided to patrollink twords or away from us?)
* Montana backs away and comms quietly, so Alysha can hear, too: "Sounds like an
American and a German are in on this, too. And there's a general? who led them
here for something."
<Brett> ["It's probably Marik," Alysha comms back. "But an international black
ops squad? There's got to be something important down there, I know it!"]
<Montana> (Remind me: Who's Marik?)
* Montana keeps moving once the information has been imparted, waving for people
to move with him. Maybe they'll run into some patrollers who are patrollink the
area.
* Shiho moves as gestured to.
<Brett> ( He's the guy you met on your first mission. )
<Brett> ( Who's sniper you saw on the footage earlier. )
<Montana> (Oh yeah!)
* Sonia lopes forward.
<Brett> ( Are you hunting those two down? )
<Gordo> (Are they headed twards us or away?)
<Brett> ( Away )
<Montana> (Trying to remember: what are we currently hired to do?)
<Montana> (Take out all the mercs, right?)
<Montana> (Or whatever they are.)
<Gordo> (Good point, what were our orders again?)
<Sonia> (Defend the base successfully, also, find out what the secret it.)
<Sonia> (One of them we're being paid to do, the other we're being induced to do
from our boss.)
<Brett> ( Your orders are to stop them from getting their hands on whatever it
is they're looking for. )
<Montana> (Right, then let's ignore them and head down closer to whatever it
is!)
<Brett> ( which really is Alysha's way of saying she wants info :P )
<Brett> [You move on! Luckily, you don't run into any patrols before getting to
the elevator. It's one of those big freight elevators.]
<Gordo> (So, any idea of the control room is up or down from here?)
* Montana gets on the elevator!
<Montana> (Does it only go down?)
<Brett> ( From here? Yeah. )
* Gordo gets in as well.
* Sonia is with Montana on this, and says lowly, "Usually I don't have to run
around with you on these."
* Shiho gets in, her sword unsheathed and ready in her hand.
* Montana shrugs. "Ain't so bad, is it?"
* Nigel also gets in! And draws his sword as well. Since people are drawing
swords.
* Montana sends the elevator down!
* Gordo doesn't have a sword to draw, but makes sure his pistol is drawn and
ready.
<Brett> [The elevator goes down! And down... and down....]
<Brett> [And opens up in a large room. You can see the drill pumping away in the
center, caged by iron bars.  It seems unharmed, though several of the bases'
troopers lie dead around it, as well as some destroyed security bots.]
<Brett> [Behind the well you see another door.]
<Sonia> (So nobody else in the place?)
<Brett> ( Nobody alive! )
<Brett> ( If there's anyone down here, they're probably past the other door. )
* Montana looks around, triggering infrared juuuust to be sure.
<Brett> [Montana sees a figure in red behind the door! Briefly.  Then it slumps
to the ground and the color starts dying out.
<Brett> ]
* Sonia just moves forward, saying, "One way to go."
* Montana moves for the door!
* Gordo checks for side passages as he moves forward!
<Montana> (I take it very slowly?  Takes a lot of time for bodies to cool. ^^)
<Brett> ( Yah )
<Brett> [There's no side passages! Except one that leads to McDonalds, but
you're not hungry.]
* Shiho follows everyone forward.
* Gordo isn't in the mood for cheap American food.
<Brett> [The door looks like it was locked with a keypad, but said pad is
spitting sparks and it opens easily, into a short corridor that ends in another
door.
* Montana goes thataway... is the door open?
<Brett> [It is!]
* Montana peeks in, all invisy!
<Brett> [However it's marked 'Restricted access'. You might not be allowed in.]
* Montana is always allowed in.
* Sonia doesn't need a key, she gets in for free, no VIP sleeves.
* Nigel stays a bit behind Montana until he says what's up.
<Shiho> (I will now always imagine Sonia as looking like Ke$ha.)
<Brett> [Montana breaks the rules and peeks in. Inside is another large room,
relatively featureless save for a dark stone column that doesn't seem to fit
with the archetecture of the place in the center, and a staircase up one side.
The staircase leads to a catwalk above that surrounds the wall.  At the far end
of the catwalk is a bridge, leading to the column. <more to come>]
* Shiho follows along quietly, as she's been doing, occasionally wincing when
she pulls at her side.
<Brett> [There's another door on the far wall above you, on the catwalk, but
more importantly...]
<Sonia> (Sonia is black! Ke$ha is not!)
<Shiho> (I'm just saying, if you're going to casually reference her music...)
<Brett> ( Ke$ha is soooooooooooooooooooooooo 00s. Alysha probably listens to the
modern day equalivent, though. Unfortunately for us all. )
<Sonia> (Snicker. I just needed some way to continue to say ':follows:'. ;)
<Shiho> (I actually love Ke$ha's music! I love pretty much anything fast and
upbeat, though.)
<Brett> [More importantly is the screaming.  Above, on the catwalk are six
figures. One appears to be general Branko Maric himself, who if you forgot is a
tall, bald man in his late 30s, with a burn scar on the right side of his face,
a red minicape on his uniform, and a boatload of metals on his chest.]
<Sonia> (See also: Hot like wow? ;)
<Shiho> (I have that too!)
<Sonia> (Also, s/metal/medal, I assume.)
<Brett> [The second is a black woman, with dreadlocks for hair and shades, even
though you're inside and the lighting's not that great.  She's only barely
recognizable as a woman; most of her body is metal, laden with so many
cybernetics that they couldn't even graft skin over it all.  The third is
another woman: a bikini ninja. She's blond and wears a red scarf over her nose
and mouth instead of a mask.
<Brett> The fourth is a big man with long sideburns.  He looks very... erm...
odd, in a skin-tight suit, with thick shoulderpads like a football player has.]
<Brett> [Then the fifth appears to be their leader: a man in his early 30s. 
He's wearing grey slacks and a shirt under a white trenchcoat, and has a very
large, wide-bladed sword strapped to his back.]
<Brett> [And the sixth is Maric's sniper! He's on the bridge, away from the
others and towards the stone column.  He's rubbing his eyes and screaming
something in Montenigran.]
<Brett> ( K. Whew. I'm done :X )
* Montana instinctively invises and looks up. Is he screaming at us?
<Brett> [Maric says something back to him.  Then the man in the trenchcoat says.
"He didn't tell you this might happen? We knew the'd be a trap on this thing."
He holds up an object. It's hard to make out what, but it seems to be about the
size and shape of an egg. Only a shiny black, like obsidian or coal.]
<Brett> ( Nope :P )
<Montana> (We knew there'd, you mean?)
<Brett> ( Yeah )
* Montana comms, quietly, "Six, if you can't see. Sniper's here but distracted."
He looks for the closest way up to the catwalk.
<Brett> ["Y-you..." says the sniper in English, staggering. "You bastard! 
General, how could you?! I've always been loyal!"]
<Brett> ["Yes," says Maric.  "But I needed to make a good impression on our
friend Sebastian. What better way than to give him the Egg?"]
<Brett> ["B-but our country..." The sniper begins. Then screams.  His arms grow
disproportionately large, skin bursting, exposing muscle. "Why?"]
<Montana> (Brett?)
<Brett> ( Yes? )
<Gordo> (Can we interupt this cutscene and cap him before he finishes turning
into a demon or whatever?)
<Montana> (Catwalk?)
<Brett> ( That's the stairs :P. )
<Brett> ( The ones I mentioned. )
<Brett> ( You can if you want, but.... there's a lot more of them than you. )
<Sonia> (It's 6 to 5!)
<Gordo> (Are there more of them around someplace?)
<Montana> (I'll let one of the more combatty people do it.  Montana's not really
a shoot first kind of guy. :D)
<Brett> ["Tanigia's falling apart," Maric says. "Nations in this world are no
longer stable.  The future lies in megacorporations."  He looks like he's about
to say more, but then the sniper throws back his head, howling as his body
buldges.]
<Sonia> (Are there other exits to this room?)
* Montana comms quietly, "Outside leader is called Sebastian. Item is some sort
of black egg. Seems to be turning Maric's sniper into some sort of monster."
* Montana also comms, "Maric's here, too."
<Brett> ["I think he can't understand me," says Maric.   The five start to
leave, the sniper remaining behind as his body twists and warps.  His upper body
is now several times wider than his legs, and his arms are huge.  His neck seems
to have vanished under all the muscle.]
<Brett> ( There is, another door on the catwalk )
<Brett> ( Which is where the five of them are going. )
<Sonia> (Right, we can't actually let them get out of the room.)
<Sonia> (I'm going to throw a quake bomb onto that portion of the catwalk to
break it?)
* Gordo swaps to his sniper riffle and takes a pair of shots at Sebastion before
he can turn anybody else into a whatever the hell that thing is. (CUT SCENE
BREAKER!)
<Nigel> (Brett, Does Nigel have any idea what that egg thing is?)
<Brett> ( Oh boy, youse guys. )
<Sonia> (We have to do something! XD)
<Brett> ( Nigel, gimme an occult roll while I try to figure out how to keep you
all from dying :P )
* Shiho sheathes her sword and draws her pistol once other people start moving.

runs for cover behind the door, but the rest just stand there.
* Nigel stares at the egg for a moment and shakes his head. "What the bloody
hell."
<Brett> ["You ruined my coat," says the man called Sebastian, looking down at
his wound.  The bullet pushes itself out, and the wound starts closing up.
* Montana fires at Sebastian's hand - the one holding the egg, whatever that is.
<Brett> ( We're going to init :P )

I guess?) stomps over to the Sniper, who's just finished transforming.  It now
becomes apparent he has cybernetics too, though much less subtle than his
companions. His left hand opens, revealing a large, metallic two-pronged pincer,
which he uses to pick up the sniper and drop him down below to you.]
<Brett> [For his part, the sniper lands with a thud, but almost immediately
picks himself up.  He's now a hulking figure of muscle and sinew, his eyes wide
and yellow, his skin all but gone.]
<Brett> [He howls again and rushes towards you.]

<Brett> ["There's another exit," says Alysha over comms.]

<Sonia> Yeah, and where does it go?
* Montana backs away and jumps up onto the wall, as now the thing can see him
and it's a good idea to be high up and ideally out of the way! Do the motes look
tangible?
<Brett> ["It looks like... it comes out near vehicle storage.  That must be
where they bring supplies for the underground.]
<Brett> [They do!  Tangible like a swarm of bees look tangible, anyway.
<Brett> ]
* Sonia blinks, then asks, "Is it connected to the road we came in on?"
* Montana frowns to himself, but aims for the ex-sniper's eye and fires. Let's
see if that can regenerate.
<Brett> ["Off a sidestreet, yeah."]

then falls onto its back.  Its wounds top regenrating, and a pool of blood
builds under it.]

corridor.  There's a checkpoint with three dead guards behind him, and behind
that, another elevator.  He stops as Sonia comes into view.]]

* Sonia brings up her hand, with her pistol in it, and takes a shot at him while
saying, "Only want the Egg."

sounding... Belgian? Maybe. "Let me tell you what I want."  Then the top of his
forearm opens, popping out a mini-machinegun, complete with a belt of ammo.  He
opens fire on Sonia.]

* Sonia twists and snags the corner, pulling herself into it and bouncing off it
slightly, she says, "Then unload 'em a little early, okay? I'm comin'"

and fires at the guy while maintaining cover. "Sorry I'm late," he tells Sonia.
