<@Brett> [Date: Monday, March 28th. Time: 9:30 p.m. Location: MMO factory in Abu Dhabi.] <@Brett> [As per part of Alysha's plan, the group invaded a MMO factory in Abu Dahbi! Hassan's Ford two McCaul bodyguards are making a ruckess out front, which allowed them to sneak in through the back. Once inside, however, something felt amiss. It's unusually dark in here, and there haven't been any signs of guards yet. They detected movement in one of the offices, though, so what better to do than <@Brett> confront it?] (I blame the zombies) (Good target.) <@Brett> [Inside the office, the light is on! Which is weird. It didn't seem to be on outside. The office is simply a small square room It's got filing cabinets, a fan, picture of a whale that says something beneath in Russian (Probably "Teamwork achieves greatness, or something like that), a desk, and a safe. Which is open!] <@Brett> [You opened the door just in time to see one of the Hebi-no-Musume give an object to Dr. Faust, looking none the worse for wear that he did when you met him the first time. Y'know, before shooting him to pieces.] <@Brett> [Start!] (I am suddenly extremely confused.) <@Brett> [It doesn't help much that as soon as the door is opened, you hear a soft moaning from the corners of the office. Glancing that way reveals two zombies.] <@Brett> ( About? ) (FAUST AND ZOMBIES AND HEBI-NO-MUSUME) <@Brett> ( What about? o.o ) (I thought the zombies were because of a crit fail.) <@Brett> ( ...... okay.... Now I'm confused. ) (We sneak in, you ask for a sight check, we all fail, Mecha crit failed and you told him Sonia saw zombies. Or at least that's how I remember it.) <@Brett> ( I... had best check the log. ) (That is indeed what happened!) (But that doesn't mean there aren't zombies.) <@Brett> ( That's true. ) <@Brett> ( I specifically said Having now finished all of the campaigns, I can talk a bit more about the game. ) <@Brett> <@Brett> <@Brett> ( Nope ) <@Brett> That's not what I said :O <@Brett> ( <@Brett> [Gordo notices nothing unusual. Sonia spots zombies in the offices! Or ) <@Brett> are they?] (Right.) <@Brett> ( Well it turns out they are. Go figure :P ) <@Brett> ( But there's some non-zombies she didn't notice, too. :D ) <@Brett> ( ANYHOW. ) <@Brett> ( You came to the office for the earring, in case you forgot. ) * Sonia looks around quickly, seeming slightly startled. "Seriously? What the hell are you doing here?" She takes a pot-shot at the ninja, hopefully disrupting the handoff. <@Brett> ( Dr. Faust, who works with Sebastian, and probably Zukunft, is also there for it. ) * Gordo shoots at the bad doctor on account of him being a bloody zombie. <@Brett> ( Ergo ) <@Brett> ( Gimme some init rolls ) 2d6+6 Gordo rolls 2D6+6: 1 6 +6 = 13 2d6+5 Sonia rolls 2D6+5: 4 3 +5 = 12 <@Brett> [Order is: Ninja, Gordo, Sonia, Dr. Faust, Zombie1, Zombie 2] <@Brett> [The ninja, who reacts faster than Sonia anticipated, actually strikes first, throwing a shuriken at her.] 2d6+6 Sonia rolls 2D6+6: 2 5 +6 = 13 <@Brett> [Sonia dodges easily enough. The shuriken strikes the wall, next to the door.] <@Brett> [Gordo!] * Gordo already posted what he was going to try and do, so he tries to do it. 2d6+6 Gordo rolls 2D6+6: 6 4 +6 = 16 2d6+6 Gordo rolls 2D6+6: 2 6 +6 = 14 <@Brett> [And he does! Though his first shot is deflected off some kind of forcefield, his second one shatters it, striking the doctor in the side. He barely flinches, though. "Hrm, Alysha Johnson's lackies again? I imagine I'm here for the same reason you are. But... Oh dear...," he says, staring out the doorway behind Sonia and Gordo. "What HAVE you brought with you? Better finish this quick." And with <@Brett> that he draws a quick pentagram in the air.] <@Brett> ( Gordo, gimme two... unarmed, I guess... defense rolls against grabs) ) <@Brett> ( Actually ) <@Brett> ( Make it just one ) <@Brett> ( Forgot I'm supposed to make this easier ._. ) 2d6+5 Gordo rolls 2D6+5: 4 1 +5 = 10 <@Brett> ( I totally skipped Sonia ._. ) (YOU ARE THE BEST) <@Brett> ( D: ) <@Brett> [An inky portal opens beneath Gordo, and a skeletal hand reaches out and grabs his leg. It doesn't hurt, but it sure has him in a strong grip.] <@Brett> [Sonia!] (Does Faust still have whatever she handed him?) <@Brett> ( Yep! ) * Sonia dodges the ninja's shuriken and shifts her aim to Faust. "Just give it up and you won't have to rebuild yourself." Then she tries to shoot the object out of his hand. <@Brett> ( Called shot! ) (Full attack!) 2d6+9 Sonia rolls 2D6+9: 2 5 +9 = 16 (-whatever the called shot penalty is) <@Brett> ( Uh... Do you really want to full attack? ) (Yes.) <@Brett> ( Okay....... ) (It's Sonia's primary combat technique. I don't know why you haven't recognized this yet. She's _made of metal_.) (Except for the parts that are delicious to the zombies behind us) (No, those parts are made of metal too.) (Last time I critfailed.) <@Brett> [Sonia shoot's Faust's hand, and puts a good sized hole in it, sending the object (that damn earring you were here to get) flying. He curses, more annoyed than in pain).] Back off, rotter, you're just in the way. <@Brett> [Then the zombies attack! One shambles up to Gordo and tries to grab him. Given his leg is already grabbed, he needs a defense at +3) 2d6+2 Gordo rolls 2D6+2: 4 4 +2 = 10 <@Brett> [The other wraps its arms around Sonia, being an annoying bastard.] (I assume you mean -2 penalty for being stuck) <@Brett> ( Right ) 2d6+3 Sonia rolls 2D6+3: 1 2 +3 = 6 (Well, that defense roll was particularly awful.) <@Brett> [Gordo manages to stave off the zombie, despite having difficulty moving. Sonia... not so much. The zombie's hugging her fiercely. Awww.] <@Brett> [The ninja takes the opportunity to circle behind Sonia, trying drive a tanto into her back.] 2d6-1 Sonia rolls 2D6-1: 1 6 -1 = 6 <@Brett> ( At a penlty of I hate BESM's grappling rules ) (I looove penalties! XD) <@Brett> ( I'm trying to figure this out. ) (-3 from the total attack, -3 from the grab unless I turn on superstrength (then it's -1), and -1 from my 2nd defense.) <@Brett> ( But I think it's -3 (total attack), -3 (grabbed by zombie) then a further -1 if... okay ) <@Brett> The good news is Sonia's cybernetics stop the brunt of the tanto, but it still scores a shallow wound along her back. It also ruins her shirt.] <@Brett> [Gordo! His leg's grabbed and there's a zombie trying to eat his face.] (Any penalty for trying to shoot the hand that's got my leg?) <@Brett> ( A +3 from being grappled. ) (Right, let's take these one at a time then.) * Gordo tries to shoot his leg free! 2d6+2 Gordo rolls 2D6+2: 3 1 +2 = 6 (DR) 2d6+2 Gordo rolls 2D6+2: 1 6 +2 = 9 <@Brett> [Gordo blasts the hand, and no sooner does he than the portal closes. The hand falls limply to the ground.] <@Brett> ( Still his turn ) (So I'm free, penalty for shooting Faust's other hand also +3?) <@Brett> ( Sure. ) (I'll feed my extra defense to a full attack) 2d6+5 Gordo rolls 2D6+5: 5 1 +5 = 11 (Damnit dem, stop rolling 1s!) <@Brett> [Luckily, Faust hasn't gotten his defense rests yet, so Gordo manages to score another hit. Faust staggers a bit, but then grins, his thin skin stretching around his skull. "Fine... You got me again. But that just means I won't have to experience whatever nightmare THAT is." And he manages to point behind Gordo and Sonia again before dropping.] <@Brett> [Sonia!] * Sonia keeps her eyes on the prize: the thing she shot out of his hand as she tries to wrench herself free of the zombie holding her, her arm suddenly making a high pitched whirring noise as it strains. (Escape action!) <@Brett> ( Roll for it! ) 2d6+8 Sonia rolls 2D6+8: 4 5 +8 = 17 (I think she's got that) <@Brett> [Sonia gets out of that pretty easily.] <@Brett> [As she lunges for the item, though, the zombie attempts to tackle her!] (Not so fast.) (Successful escape gives me a real action.) <@Brett> ( Oop ) * Sonia gets to take a real action, then, and lunges across the room to find the item in question before the ninja tries something quick. She snarls, at Gordo/Shiho/etc, "Get the speedy lekker bitch." <@Brett> [Instead of Shiho, Sonia sees only an inky blackness in the doorway outside the office.] <@Brett> [Then the zombie lunges after Sonia :P] <@Brett> ( Also gimme a sight roll ) <@Brett> [And Gordo, a defense roll, as the other zombie tries to grab him again.] 2d6+5 Gordo rolls 2D6+5: 1 6 +5 = 12 2d6+6 Sonia rolls 2D6+6: 3 1 +6 = 10 2d6+6 Sonia rolls 2D6+6: 6 5 +6 = 17 (Bad sight, excellent defense!) <@Brett> [Both Gordo and Sonia avoid the zombies, but Sonia fails to find the item.] <@Brett> [And the ninja girl shrieks as inky tentacles erupt from the doorway, pulling her out into the thick blackness beyond.] <@Brett> [Gordo!] * Gordo shoots at the ninja twice. 2d6+5 Gordo rolls 2D6+5: 3 2 +5 = 10 2d6+5 Gordo rolls 2D6+5: 2 5 +5 = 12 <@Brett> [No ninja there anymore.] (She's apparently been enguilfed.) <@Brett> [Gordo can't even see her with his night-vision. <@Brett> ] (Ah, shoot zombies then) What the bloody hell IS that? <@Brett> [Gordo puts a few good-sized holes in the first zombie. It collapses to the ground, but it's still moving, crawling after him.] <@Brett> [Sonia] * Sonia gets a more careful opportunity to find the thing she shot out of his hand, arm still whirring, and a grimace on her face from it. "C'mon, where are you, echo for me..." <@Brett> ( Roll for it! ) 2d6+6 Sonia rolls 2D6+6: 1 3 +6 = 10 (Come the fuck on, dice.) <@Brett> [For purposes of making this go quicker, Sonia gets lucky and spots the item in the wastebasket. One the zombie knocks over as it attempts to grab her again, moaning something about brains.] <@Brett> [The other one tries for Gordo's leg!] 2d6+6 Sonia rolls 2D6+6: 3 2 +6 = 11 (defense) 2d6+5 Gordo rolls 2D6+5: 5 3 +5 = 13 (Huh... I was looking at the wrong number, all those pistol attacks should have been at +6. Oh well.) <@Brett> [And both avoid getting grabbed.] <@Brett> [Oh, Gordo!] * Sonia snaps, "Found it!" (Double full attack one bullet to the head of each) 2d6+4 Gordo rolls 2D6+4: 2 1 +4 = 7 2d6+4 Gordo rolls 2D6+4: 3 6 +4 = 13 <@Brett> ( K ) <@Brett> [Gordo slays the zombie near him, but the other continues to go for Sonia.] <@Brett> [Sonia!] Damned zombied! Stay dead fer Chissake. * Sonia grabs the item and then looks for another way out of the room. How does the black mass 'sound': is sound just getting absorbed into it? <@Brett> [There are windows, but the blackness seems to be outside of them, as well. She can still sense object inside, so the world hasn't vanished at least. But after what happened to the ninja, who can say? And where's Shiho, anyhow?] (So there's no way out of the room as it stands. Great.) <@Brett> [The darkness does seem to be reluctant to enter the lit office, though.] * Sonia shoots one of the zombies, then, saying, "Where the fuck is Nigel when you need someone to tell you about shit that doesn't exist." <@Brett> ( Sweden ) 2d6+6 Sonia rolls 2D6+6: 5 4 +6 = 15 (blamblamblam) * Gordo tries to com out. "Shiho, can ye hear us? <@Brett> [Sonia blasts the zombie. It staggers back, then comes at her again with a new cry of "Brainzz."] <@Brett> [And Shiho doesn't respond. Who knew?] 2d6+6 Sonia rolls 2D6+6: 1 1 +6 = 8 (... god fucking dammit.) <@Brett> ( ._. ) (Oh not again) <@Brett> ( welp, back to Romania :D ) (And this is why I hate crit failures.) (Do we have any left over antizombie juice?) (1/36 rolls, you get straight fucked.) <@Brett> ( 1/36 rolls you get a superduper success too, though ) (Superduper successes don't take 3 sessions to fix.) (As a matter of comparison. ;) (At best, a superduper success kills something that was going to die anyway.) <@Brett> [The zombie tackles Sonia. But before it can bite her, the floor gives way, and the two tumble down to the factory floor below, landing hard on a conveyer belt. A conveyer belt that wasn't active before, but is now. It seems to be sending them towards a kiln used to super-heat metal.] <@Brett> [Gordo!] * Gordo looks down the hole, mutters that his knees will never forgive him, and drops after them. <@Brett> [I should note, the zombie's on top of Sonia, still trying to bite her.] <@Brett> ( Gimme a body: Acrobatics roll. Jumping or tumbling work ) 2d6+5 Gordo rolls 2D6+5: 6 3 +5 = 14 (Woot, fourth roll without a 1!) <@Brett> [Gordo lands in a roll, managing to not seriously hurt himself. It's eerily dark still, but he can see the whole setup with the conveyer belt and kiln easily enough.] (Is the kiln on?) <@Brett> ( Yes ) <@Brett> ( It's bright and orange inside. ) * Sonia grunts as she lands on the belt, struggling with a zombie. She manages to say, "That's one way out... fucking shite construction..." <@Brett> ( Gordo gonna try anything? ) (Ah, I figured jumping down was my turn.) (If I've still got another action I'll try to shoot the zombie off and shout at Sonia!) <@Brett> ( Maybe one action ) <@Brett> ( K. It's a called shot at.... hm ) (Full attack, normal aim) 2d6+9 Gordo rolls 2D6+9: 2 1 +9 = 12 (... Called that right) Sonia! Get up! <@Brett> [Gordo takes a shot at the zombie, but maybe his aim is off after landing. Disturbingly, Sonia hears the bullet ricochet off the under side of the conveyer belt, not far from her head.] <@Brett> [Sonia's turn!] * Sonia replies, loudly, "Gordo, don't shoot me!" Her arm's still whining as she tries to throw the zombie off so she can get up. "Move, ya sack." 2d6+8 Sonia rolls 2D6+8: 6 2 +8 = 16 (escape action) <@Brett> [Sonia and the zombie struggle. The zombie puts up quite a fight, determined to take a bite out of her, but in the end she manages to push him away long enough to roll off the converyer belt. The zombie attempts to crawl across the belt after her, but ends up getting dumped in the kiln, where it quickly melts into nothing.] * Gordo gets off the belt as well before he winds up reinacting a movie he's never seen! * Sonia lands on her hands and feet, panting just slightly, her arm becoming quiet. It's quite clear it's a cyborg arm now, as it winds down, because it has a little bit of exposed exhaust and metal. She holds up her other hand, with the item in hand. "Shiho, fucking respond, we're ready to get out of here. Where is that shadow?" * Gordo looks up at the entrance to the offices. "That's my excitment fer the week." <@Brett> [Sonia discovers the item she recovered is a silver earring with a round greenish jewel. AKA the object Alysha was looking for. Yay! And there's no zombies around! Or even MMO guards! Unfortunately, it's still unnaturally dark in here, aside from the light aroudn the kiln.] <@Brett> [Also, Shiho isn't responding.] * Sonia looks over at Gordo. "Won't be hard to ruin this place now that it's moving, just blow up the kiln and it'll go up fine. Shiho, dammit, where is she?" Second floor? * Sonia gets up, her arm having more or less gotten back to normal. She pulls the dagger from her back with a slight wince and then says, "Come on." And she marches back up towards the darkness. * Gordo follows her with gun drawn. <@Brett> [And it was at this point the GM had no idea what to do without Shiho being here, so decided the best course of action was to end the session.]
