[Day: Friday, May 13th. Time: 9:15 p.m.] [You're at the Leblanc Estate. Originally you were looking for Scarlett, but instead of her you found MiBs. Vampire MiBs, none the less, here as part of a business meeting between Franklin Leblanc and a man called Harrington, who works for some Japanese company called Dairoba Industries.] [Remember all that? Well then you probably remember what happened next: Franklin Leblanc discovered a way to use Dr. Gutenberg's serum on a certain strand of DNA, which would ensure a transformation rather than death.] [And then he had his head blown off by his son, Richard, who's now a vampire and in league with Harrington.] [Harrinton left out a side door with the syringe of serum, leaving you with Richard and his MiBs (and Dr. Gutenberg, lying on the floor. Let's not forget him).] [Lucky for you, before Richard could kill you, a bunch of other men in black broke in through the windows, shouting their intent to recapture the professor in thick German accents.] [That ought to be a good enough recap, so...] [Start!] [And immediately a firefight breaks out! One of the MiBs tries to ignore the bullets and rush the Germans right off the bat, but he doesn't get far, and it's easy to tell why. They reek of garlic.] [So they end up shooting at each other instead.] [And you guys are caught in the middle! Oh noes!] (Actually, it might be a good idea if we got caught hitting the deck.) ( That'd be silly. The deck's like several feet beyond the MiBs and out the doors.] ) * Eric does what any sensible person does when he hears a loud noise. He drops to the floor, quick as he can. [Somehow everyone seems to have forgotten you for the moment. Lucky you.] * Melanie crouches down and starts edging towards an exit. [Unfortunately, nobody's forgotten the doctor. Richard grabs him with one hand while firing with the other. * Eric crawls along to find some cover. [There's columns, tables and chairs! Many of which are already being used for cover, though] * Michel is more than fine with that as he also hits the ground, glances to Melanie and Eric, and then starts moving towards the door Harrington went to, staying low. [Despite the fact that the bullets aren't hurting Richard or the MiBs, some of the Germans are flinging flasks of holy water around. Seems they're prepared.] d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (d6) and gets a natural 1 for a result of 1. [One lands near Eric and his head gets drenched.] * Melanie pauses a moment to put her boot back on, then sees where Michel is heading, sighs, and follows him. ... ( Michel, gimme a stealth roll. spec...... um.... not being noticed...? ) (Silent Movement, I would expect.) ( Ok, we'll go with that. ) 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+6) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 15. (Nice roll.) [Michel manages to make it to the door without being spotted.] ( You other guys should give me rolls, too :x ) 2d6+4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6+4) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 12. 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Melanie (2d6+6) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 9. [Eric joins Michel shortly. Followed by Melanie! Hoepfully none of you were noticed on the way over.] * Michel reaches up to open the door, saying as lowly as he can through the gunfire/fighting, "They'll take care of this. C'mon." He reaches for the door handle, and hopefully opens it before heading in! [Michel fails to open it and just walks into the door.] ( It's locked! ) (Oh FFS.) * Michel pulls lockpicks from his coat, saying lowly, "You two didn't take any hits I didn't see, did ya?" as he goes for the lockpick, then. Oy. * Eric whispers back, "No." ( Gimme a lockpicking roll and another stealth roll ) * Eric draws his blaster, ready to cover Michel if necessary while he tries to unlock the door. ( Just Michel ) Nope. 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+7) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 13. 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 13. (Lockpick and stealth in hat order.) (that order.) [Michel manages to pick the lock! Just as Richard suddenly notices you and takes a shot.] d3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (d3) and gets a natural 1 for a result of 1. ( Eric, gimme a ranged def roll ) 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6+5) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 10. [That's not so good. Eric takes a bullet in the shoulder.] "Nghh!" >_o (Through and through or stuck in there?) [Too hard to tell with all the blood.] ( either way it's a nasty injury. ) * Michel finsihes the pick and pulls the door open, telling Eric quickly, "Move!" (Well, is there blood on one side or blood on both sides?) ( both ) * Eric backs into the doorway behind Michel. * Melanie hurries through the doorway. * Michel goes in last, closing the door so that he can relock it and say lowly, "How bad is it?" "Just my shoulder..." [You head into the doorway. Beyond is a dimly lit corridor. There's two doors to the left, and a set of double doors on the far end. To the right are windows. It's windy outside, but against all cliche odds, not raining or thundering.] * Melanie puts her hands on either side of the wound. "Hold still." She sings an Elvis song quietly. (Healing) [And before long, Eric is feeling better.] [Just as Richard appears behind you. "Going somewhere?"] ( gimme init rolls!] ) 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6+5) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 11. (He... teleported through the door I locked and am standing by?) ( Erm... You locked it? :o ) ('closing the door so he can relock it') ( Hokay then... ) (What's good for the one fleeing guy is good for the other fleeing guy!) [Just as Richard kicks down the door behind you. "Going somewhere?"] ( Roll init :D ) 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Melanie (2d6+5) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 16. 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+7) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 11. (:|) [Melanie, Richard, Eric, Michel] [Melanie go!] * Melanie throws a bottle of holy water at Richard. 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Melanie (2d6+5) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 10. [Unfortunately for Melanie, Richard ducks, letting the water sail over his head. "Naughty girl." He comes up with an uppercut aimed at her chin. 2d6+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Melanie (2d6+9) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 13. [But Melanie easily sidesteps.] [Eric!] (The power of having both shoes on again!) * Eric aims his blaster at Richard and opens fire. ( shoes ftw ) 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6+5) and gets 7, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "Hey, a crit! Remember this next Christmas." (Damn you, Dicesuke.) ( huh ) (Shoes are excellent.) [Eric blasts Richard squard in the chest, burning a hole through his shirt. And though it doesn't seem to have actually injured him, he's knocked to the ground.] [Michel!] * Michel curses under his breath and goes for it, pulling a stake out of his pocket as he goes for the heart. (Full attack! What can possibly go wrong! XD) (You noted 'for the heart' as a +3 penalty before, so.) ( K. I thought I did. ) 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+5) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 12. (C'mon -3 penalty to defenses for multiple defenses! Save us!) (Well, for the second extra defense.) [Michel goes for the heart! and nearly gets there, but Richard's hand shoots out (not literally), grabbing Michel's wrist.] [Melanie!] * Michel looks down at him from the awkward almost-stabbed position. "Cold blooded, aren't ya." ["It's just business."] (...What kind of penalty would it be if I tried to kick the stake the rest of the way? >.>) ( Uhhhhhh....... ) ( Gooooooooooood question. ) (STOMP) (Last session! Let's go for the fun shots!) ( +2 ) (It can't be worse than the stab. And is probably better. Since he's already on the ground.) (Full attack it!) ( He's also got super strength :P ) ( And is already pushing it away ) ( so yeah, +2 ) (What's the bonus for full attack?) (3 bonus to a single attack, and then your defenses are at a 3 penalty.) * Melanie brings her foot up and slams it down at the stake over Richard's chest. (Full attack) 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Melanie (2d6+7) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 13. [Melanie stakes him! He turns to ash before he can say any more one-liners.] * Michel hisses as he gets his hand stomped, then shakes one of them slightly as he looks up at Melanie. "Nice foot. Hns." * Melanie looks warily at the broken door. "I'll heal it if it's that bad, but let's keep moving." * Michel shakes his head. "Nah, nah." He stands up slowly and puts the stake back in his pocket. "Stings a bit. C'mon." * Eric nods and turns, pressing on, keeping his blaster at the ready. (Two doors on the left, and the door at the end. Check the doors on the way?) * Melanie follows behind. (right) ( go ahead ) * Michel heads down the hall, checking the two doors on the left as they pass. Hopefully they're unlocked and easy to check! Or really noisy and easy to check! * Eric approaches the first door on the left and listens for a moment. [They are unlocked! One leads to a broom closet, the other to a room with a TV and some plants and pictures.] (Easy! Yay.) ( Oh yeah, there's a tentacled horror inside the closet. Gimme a def roll ) ( kidding :P ) * Eric heads for the door at the end and waits for Michel, gun ready. * Michel also heads to that door too, checking it to see if it is also locked. He looks to Melanie. "Got another bottle?" * Melanie pulls another one out. "As many as I could carry from the car." (Is the door locked?) ( Yep! ) * Michel nods with a slight smile. "Good." He goes to pick this lock as well. 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+7) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 16. [Michel totally picks that lock, yo. fer reals] * Michel puts the picks away and makes sure his gun is ready, just in case. He looks to the two of them, then nods and opens the door carefully. [Inside the door is an elaborate dining room. A long table covered in a white cloth sits at the center, with ten chairs total at it. The right and far wall have tall windows with fancy red drapes, and on the other wall are large paintings. But also!] [At the head of the table at the far end of the room sits Scarlett. She looks unconscious. Harrington is holding her hand like a gentleman. At least, until you realize that in his other hand is an empty syringe.] * Eric trains his gun on Harrington immediately. [He glances up and sneers. "Hnnh. I see Richard failed. Useless."] "What have you done?" ["Testing the merchandise. I only have Franklin's word that this will even work."] [Scarlett moans, and Harrinton turns towards her. "You're welcome to watch the results. Whoever you are."] * Michel frowns and says, "Wasn't she important to the whole... uh... process?" * Melanie takes a step backwards. "It's too late to save her, right?" she murmurs. "Maybe we should... go..." ["Quite. If she doesn't die, it proves that Franklin identified the genome necessary for the serum to work. From there, all we need is a sample of her DNA, and we'll easily be able to replicate the process." He frowns. "Truth be told, Dairoba has a similar serum in development. But something's missing from the process. Perhaps there's something to be gained from this.] [He shrugs. "Leave if you like. It's no concern of mine. I don't even know who you people are."] * Michel glances to Melanie, then back forward, before he starts to walk around the table, hands going in his pockets. "It's just the cop in me. Stepping away from a murder is a little much. How about you just back away from the woman and get down on the floor." * Eric still hasn't taken his blaster off of Harrington. [Scarlett's eyes snap open, and she shrieks. Harrington smirks. "And now we'll see."] [He glances at Michel. "Oh please. You want to fight? Play the big hero?"] [He spreads his arms. "Take your best shot. But I warn you, I'm centuries old. Nothing like the rubbish calling themselves vampires in this mansion."] * Michel narrows his eyes and says, "She hired us to find her brother." A moment, then, "Least I can do is tell her myself about what happened... if she lives." [Scarlett's head pushes forward, a hump building on her back. Her skin strains, then finally explodes as two bat-like wings rip from the back of her dress.] [Harrington glances back, then smiles, fangs showing. "I doubt she's in a position to care."] * Melanie backs up further. Her voice is strained as she says, "This is too much, I can't..." * Michel moves closer to him, since he's not backing away, going around to the side slightly, away from her, getting the vamp inbetween the two of them if he can. "Yeah?" ["Well, one of you has some sense."] "Mel...go. One way or another, this doesn't look good." [Scarlette's arms thicken, her fingers becoming elongated and her nails becoming claws. Her skin begins to break out into red scales.] I'm really... I'm sorry! * Melanie runs out. ( ara ) ( Mel, join #MCBE2 ) ( And probably someone to log too :x ) * Michel 's eyes flick to Melanie's leaving, then back to Eric. "Nothin's holdin' you here either, Doc." "I'm not about to leave you in the lurch, Michel." [Harrington smirks. "Awww... How touching."] "And I must see this...perversion of science put to an end." [Rachel's eyes turn yellow, and her ears grow pointy.] * Michel 's eyes flick to Scarlette, then back to the vamp. "Yeah, well, I doubt you can feel it anyway." Turnin' people into monsters with your teeth ain't good enough? ["Please. Monsters? That's a bit harsh. They're either tools or food."] 2d6+4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+4) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 11. [Harrington laughs aloud at Michel. "Honestly, if you had any idea how many people like Richard Leblanc approached me, BEGGING for me to turn them... Simple-minded fools. But I always find a way to utilize them. I'm a businessman, after all.] * Michel smirks. "You're just the Devil in businessman's clothing, man. Ain't nothin' new to New Orleans in that." 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Melanie (2d6+5) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 15. "Ms. Leblanc..." Eric says, still training his gun on LeBlanc, "if you can hear me, if there's any part of you still remaining, you must try to hold on!" (Thank you, Eric!) (Someone needed to test if she can hear us, and if I do it he might figure out the plan.) ["Heh. If there was any part of her remaining, the serum wouldn't be much good."] * Michel smiles grimly. "Good thing he's testing it, then, huh?" [Scarlett doesn't give any indication she understands, other than screaming.] ["Yes. Speaking of which, what's taking so long?"] * Michel keeps his eyes focused on the vamp. "Don't ask me. I'm just a nobody." (Oh, BTW. Totally using Wait For An Opening to build up the +3 to-hit bonus.) [Harrington turns from Michel. And his eyes go wide as Scarlett suddenly launches at him, her arms wrapped around his throat. He grabs her wrists, but apparently her strength is much greater than it was, putting them at even fields. Bad news is, his arms suddenly catch fire and start burning her. "I... see it was... successful."] (... this is an opening!) * Michel gets out of the way of the Vampire/Monsterette fracas as he draws his stake out of his pocket, looking for the chance to take a shot at putting him down. (I'm not sure if I can reach him?) ( You can, but he's struggling. You might miss. ) ( i.e. -3 as usual ) (I presume my shot is made more difficult by her being in the way, as well.) (That's why I wanted to do the 'wait for an opening' thing again.) (So I have a shot.) ( Only if you care about hitting her :D You can shoot Harrington at a -3 though. ) (Take the 3 rounds (as many as before the combat as I could) for the +3 to hit.) (I'm going to wait and aim...) (Me joining in the close combat will only make things crowded.) (Indeed.) (So, Brett, how many 'Wait for an Openings' do I have?) (brb) ( Uhhhhh ) ( 1! ) (Woo! I'm gonna hope she can distract him one more round before I go for it.) [Her arms are on fire. She seems to really want to claw his throat open, but it's not happening. And even if it did, it probably wouldn't stop him. Either way, she's forced to back away. The scales help protect her arms from the flames, but not completely.] * Michel grits his teeth and goes, "All or nothin', Michel," and then moves in to try to finish the job for her, stake out, going for the heart. (At +2 aim and then -3 for the heart, or?) ( Yah ) (alright. Full attack, obv. C'mon 12.) (bak) ( wb ) 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+7) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 10. (Ha ha ha ha.) (Boned.) [Michel rushes at Harrington, a stake aimed at his back. And almost hits. But at the last second, Harrington whips around with a backhand. Gimme a def roll, Michel!] 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+2) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 12. (WHY WAS THAT NOT ON THE ATTACK ROLL) [Ouch. Michel gets slugged, and it's enough to knock him off his feet. "Really. I thought I warned you."] * Michel gets knocked back and grunts hard as he hits the ground. "Yeah, well... I'm a little hard of hearin' sometimes." * Michel groans. "Like... a truck, nnh..." (Eric get to take his shot yet?) ( go for it ) * Eric fires on Harrington. 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6+5) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 15. [Eric hits Harrington in the side! He staggers a few steps, but keeps his balance. And has just enough time to glare at Eric before Scarlett is on him again.] (Result! :D) * Michel breathes heavily as he drags himself up to his feet, trying to look for another opening. "Thanks... doc..." [Harrington and Scarlett struggle. Once more, his flames drive her off. "Seems she still has a measure of her humanity. Pity. But I'm sure we can rectify that at Dairoba."] (How many rounds did that take?) ( 1 ) (Fantastic. Well, I guess I can try to not roll the suck again! Second verse, same as the first.) "You've done quite enough 'rectifying', I think." * Michel brings up his stake-arm and goes for another stab. "You don't need to take nothin' else." 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+6) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 9. (*facepalm*) (Glad I didn't wait.) [Harrington casually blocks Michel's feeble attack. "I take what I want." And this time sends a gout of fire towards Michel.] 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+2) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 12. (WHAT THE HELL) [Annnnd Michel's arm is on fire! And he's starting to feel like blacking out would be a good idea.] (Is that 'You've taken 65 damage'?) ( Not quite 65 damage. ) ( But... don't get hit again :P ) * Michel woozes back against the wall and tries to pat the fire out with his coat, blinking woozily. [And because she doesn't seem to have any sense left, Scarlett charges again. Harrington sends another gout of flame at her, forcing her to back away before she even gets to him. "Hm... Well, I think this is sufficient data. Shall we wrap this up?"]] ( I prolly should have called init, but I didn't expect this to take so long >.> ) (We've basically fallen into init.) * Eric fires again. (Also. Can I use a Dramatic Feat (P148)?) 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6+5) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 8. ( Sure ) (Alright. I'll throw 20 EP at it for a +2.) [Eric scores a head shot!] [.................. on one of the portraits.] * Michel narrows his eyes at the guy, refocusing his eyes, and gripping his stake extra tight. He says quietly, "One last shot, old man. Don't miss." And then he pushes himself off the wall and charges the vamp, attempting to put the stake in his heart one last time. [Harrington's fire turns dark: black with a slight purple glow. "You begin to overstay your welcome."] 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+7) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 11. (*rubs face*) ( araaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ) (I am seriously maximizing my number output. I just... can't roll above a 4.) [And then the door near Eric bursts open, and a Japanese woman steps into the room. "Harrington!" she calls in a thick accent, "Here's where you've been hiding, slimeball."] ["Ms. Kusanagi!... I'll be right with you." And he unleashes the black fire on Scarlett. She shrieks as her entire body ignites, and in seconds she burns to a crisp.] "NO!" (Do I just kinda run past him?) ( Oh. Uh... ) [while he's doing that, he just sorta shoves Michel out of the way.] ( ^^_v ) * Michel gets shoved into the wall again, grunting. "Really... not a good day to be a detective..." [The Japanese woman charges down the room at him. Since she's on the far side, it's gonna take a bit.] * Eric grabs a chair and swings at Harrington in frustration. * Michel uses the distraction time to get a round of aiming. Best make all this chaos count. [Harrington dusts his hands. "Well... I'd love to entertain you all, but my business is concluded here. See you back in Japan, Ms. Kusanagi." And then poof! Eric's chair passes through him as he turns into mist.] [He starts floating through a window. The woman cries in frustration. "Bastard! Get back here!"] (Yuusuk--er, Eric! Use the spirit gun!) * Eric tries one last shot. 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6+5) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 12. [The shot passes through him, not hurting him. But, he does suddenly solidify. He stares down at himself in confusion. "What...?"] [And then the Japanese woman sends him flying with a roundhouse kick. He winds up sprawled on the ground at Michel's feet.] * Michel looks down at him, and then drops straight down, knee to the throat and stake to the chest. (With 1 round of aim and blowing my last EP on this shot. Let's see a high number.) 2d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Michel (2d6+8) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 13. (It's... an improvement! :|) [Good enough. Michel stabs him through the chest, and he turns to ash.] * Michel manages to stay kneeling there for a half second, lets out a weak laugh... and then passes flat out at 0 EP. ( And no, I didn't even roll for him. It's late :P ) ( Fast forward? ) (sure, I guess) (Go for it) (Works for me!) [Spinning logo! And then we're in the MC office. By we, I mean the woman (who's name is Kyoko Kusanagi, if you weren't watching the other channel and Dr. Gutenberg. Oh, and you guys.] ( Next day ) [And shortly, Tavin von Haupt enters. "Good day. I see you've managed to recover the doctor." He smiles. "Dr. Gutenberg."] * Michel looks a bit beat up, even if Melanie helped him out. The fan spins, and he takes a sip of his coffee, before looking to Gutenberg, Kyoko, and Tavin. "... busy day, ain't it." * Eric sits at his desk, looking rather maudlin as he sets his book down. [The Doctor (whose name I totally forgot), frowns. "Herr von Haupt, I recognize you. So I'm to return to Germany, then?"] * Melanie seems a bit glum as well. ["West Germany, my friend."] [He frowns. "And if I do not wish to go?"] ["The communists will never stop hunting you, sir. We can keep you safe."] [The doctor glances at you guys.] * Michel looks at the doctor, then Kyoko, then Tavin. "Dr. Gutenberg has said he's done with the science, Mr. von Haupt." ["A shame. The Doctor has a brilliant mind."] (My first thoguht was 'Go with Kyoko!'... but we know that Japanese crazy business wants him too.) [Gutenberg shakes his head. "No. I won't be responsible for any more deaths, indirectly or not."] [von Haupt frowns, then sighs. "A shame, but so be it. We can set you up in a rural home when we get back. But you have to come. It's too dangerous in the States."] "And what assurance can you give that he will not be pressured by your people once he is back in Germany?" [Kyoko shrugs. "Deffinately not safe in Japan, I can tell you that. Dairoba would be after you as much as the Communists."] [Tavin frowns. "Only on my word as a loyal agent of the East German government."] (West?) ( West ) ( "West! I meant West!" ) (Everyone: ...) * Michel stands up from the chair slowly, then says, "I wish I had any idea where you'd be safe, Doctor. Only a government'll be able to fight a government, right?" [He sighs. "I guess I have no choice."] [Tavin smiles. "It won't be so bad. West Germany is eager to prove it's changed since the War. We'll take good care of you."] [Dr. Gutenberg sighs and stands up. "Very well. I guess I have missed my home a bit."] [Tavin nods. "There's a car waiting for you below. I'll join you shortly."] [Dr. Gutenberg turns to you. "Thank you, for all you have done."] * Michel looks over at Melanie, then starts writing the office number on a piece of paper, rips it off, and hands it to Dr. Gutenberg, before giving him a handshake. "I'm sorry we couldn't help Scarlett... you call us and check in, yeah?" "It was nothing, doctor." Maybe you can send us a painting once you've finished one? [He shakes Michel's hand and smiles at Melanie. "I would like that." Then he waves and leaves.] [And Tavin produces a briefcase. "And I thank you, as well. I only hired you to find the doctor, but you may well have saved his life. We'll make sure he stays safe."] [He puts the briefcase on Eric's desk and opens it up, revealing large wads of cash. "Here's somethign extra for your troubles. I hope it is satisfactory?"] * Michel looks to Tavin and replies, "Well, we're just that sort..." and he trails off at the large amount of money. Rough count: Lots and lots? [Kyoko lets out a low whistle.] ( Well above your usual rates! ) (Our usual rates are two grapefruits and a rusty spoon!) ( i.e. $30 ) Thank you, sir. "Yes, you're most generous. Thank you." * Michel nods and blinks a few times, before shaking his head. "Sorry. Still a bit out of it from yesterday." He looks to Tavin and says, "Yeah, thanks. Glad we could at least get your case taken care of well." [He nods. "Well, then. If you'll excuse me, I should see the good doctor off. Farewell." He leaves!] * Eric sits back down and stares at the briefcase in front of him ."..." [Kyoko stretches. "Lucky you. Here I am bounding around the world doing this kind of thing for free."] * Michel walks over to the money slowly, and then chuckles weakly before looking over to Kyoko. "Travel's its own reward, miss. I haven't been out of the city for... uh, a long time." [She grins. "Feel free to stop by Japan any time. My kid wold love to meet you."] * Michel rubs his head slightly, then says, "Uh, yeah. Sure. You'll have to leave your number or address or somethin'." And thanks for the help last night... that guy really didn't deserve to get away. [She obliges, helping herself to a pen and a sticky note, where she writes down some kana characters, and underneath in English. Her handwriting is fairly bad. "Yeah. He was in charge of human experiments before I blew up one of his labs. They sent him here as punishment, but I couldn't just let him get away."] * Michel grimaces. "There are people... in charge of that? And the company's still around? God help us." [She sighs. "Yeah... But hey, they don't have a big hold in the U.S. yet. I'll get them shut down, promise."] What's their name? * Michel nods and reaches out to give her a firm handshake. "Good... hunting, I guess I should say." "I wish you the best of luck, Ms. Kusanagi, truly. Science should be for the good of mankind, not..." He trails off, sighing. [She shakes hands. "Yeah... Sorry, if I'd gotten there a few minutes sooner..." She looks at Melanie. "Dairoba Industries. On the surface they look clean, but under it all they're monsters."] [She checks her watch. "I gotta go. Got a plane to catch, soon. See you around if you ever get to Japan."] Safe traveling. [She slips on some shades, gestures in what's kind of a salute, kind of a wave, then heads out. You're all alone now, oh noes!] * Michel nods and waves slightly at her. He then looks at Melanie and smiles weakly a moment, before saying, "At least we got the money to pay you back a bit, huh?" * Melanie meets his gaze firmly. "I'm sorry I ran off. It was unacceptable. But I can't promise it won't happen again if I stay." If you'll still have me. * Michel looks back at her, then walks over and claps her on the shoulder. Melanie... what happened last night cut into my nightmares for the first time since I started getting 'em from bein' in this city. "I see no reason why not." * Michel smiles slightly. "Ain't nothin' wrong with having feelings." "And I believe I did encourage you to run, at any rate." * Melanie grins at them. "If that's the case, I'm organizing the hell out of this business. Some of this money has got to go back into the agency to class up the place, and if we don't advertise, we'll never pick up any more clients." ( And fix the fan! ) (Oh god the fan.) "We advertise...we have cards, don't we Michel?" * Michel looks back at her with a slow blink, then, "Yes. Yes we do. I think... that can wait for tomorrow, though." * Melanie stretches her arms up, looking relaxed again. "You're completely right. D'you guys wanna spend some of this on dinner? I'm starving." "Sounds good to me." * Michel nods slowly, then walks over slowly to grab his coat. "Might as well. Long as they have coffee." * Eric stands and stretches slightly. (And then they ate food wai?) [Sounds good to me! End]
