<'v>< <'v>< <'v>< Mystery Club 4: Divine Comedy *Everything in here subject to modification.* > > > ===Basics=== -Summary- Characters are humans who died on the earth date of February 11, 2102. They are brought back to life by Zomegar, an ancient being of such incredible power that the only reason he is not considered a god is because he doesn't care for the designation. He revives the PCs to serve as devas. The game will take place across multiple worlds. Characters need not be from Earth (though it would be preferable to have at least one Earth born human), but any characters who come from a realm other than Earth will need to provide details about their home world. -Points- 240 CP 430 MP (CP for use in Metanoia form; see the Divine Gifts text.) -Info- In past MC games, players could choose whether their characters were human or supernatual. Certain aspectes, such as spirit wards, only affect a certain type of character. In MC5, however, all PCs must have been human before their deaths; afterwards, they are considered supernatural. Do be sure to include how your character died in your background. It can be as mundane as a traffic accident or as violent as having your heart ripped out by your nemesis, but I wanna know. No suicides. Zomegar isn't going to waste his time trying to get assistance from someone who doesn't want their life back. CP are used to create the character's human form, and MP are used for the Metanoia form. This means you're essentially designing two character sheets: one for each form. Stats and attributes do not carry over between forms; if you want both forms to have a certain ability, it must be purchased with both CP and MP. -Recovery- A full rest in Zomegar's sanctuary will recover all HP and MP. Normal recovery otherwise is Body + Soul x 2 in HP and Mind + Soul x 2 in EP for a full rest anywhere else. Reaccuring nightmares can hinder recovery. See Modified Defects below. Usually characters will have an opportunity to resupply during a recovery phase, restoring spent spirit wards and uses for any "limited shots" or "limited use" abilities, as well as restoring any "unreliable" attacks. Characters cannot die permanently in this game unless defeated by a being of considerable power able to stop their reincarnation, or unless certain steps are taken to destroy their souls. A character who "dies" recovers in Zomegar's sanctuary, though it will take time for him/her to generate a new body. ===Attributes=== -Unallowed Attributes- Alternate Form* Alternate Identity* Dimension Walk* Dimensional Portal* Divine Powers* Power Flux* Environmental Influence* Reincarnation* Spaceflight Wealth * Can already be done in some form with Divine Gifts. See Divine Gifts text. -New and Modified Attributes- Exorcism affects spirits and normal forms of possession: by spirits or by the mind control attribute. It has no effect on corporeal undead, or on controlled Disciples. An incorporeal spirit under exorcism can be hit by normal attacks. New attributes concerned with optional Divine Powers are listed in the Divine Gifts text. Item functions as a pool of CP, from which the character can draw to create, well, an item, since characters cannot take items with them from world to world. The character can only create one item per Item attribute at a time, and cannot create something that he/she does not have a basic understanding of. Be aware that Zomegar does not approve of creating items that do not belong on whatever world you're in. Characters are granted a form of reincarnation by Zomegar, and can be restored to life unless their spirit is directly destroyed. However, death will be a lot more prevalent in this game than most MCs, and characters will die at -10 HP. ===Defects=== -Unallowed Defects- Involuntary Change One-Way Transformation Conditional Ownership Confined Movement -Modified Defects- Reaccuring nightmares slows down healing. At level 1 of Reaccuring Nightmares, characters recover their body + soul in HP and their mind + soul in EP. At level 2 of Reaccuring Nightmares, characters recover half of these value. At level 3 of Reaccuring Nightmares, characters recover only 1 HP and EP a night. In the sanctuary, the effects are reduced by one level. Burns Energy starts at a cost of 2 EP for 1 BP. EP cost increases per BP added as according to the book, at a cost of 1 BP lower (so 5 EP for 2 BP, 10 EP for 3 BP, etc.). The Slow defect on special attacks increases wait time by only 1 round per time it's taken. So, taking it twice would make the attack take 2 rounds before it goes off (substitute rounds with extra attacks if you like). -Required- Marked Level 2 or 3 for Metanoia form ONLY (see Divine Gifts File). ===Other Stuff=== -Called Defense- If you think you're going to be attacked with a called shot, you can make a called defense. This lets you protect a certain part of your body (head, hands, shoulders... be specific) with a -3 bonus to defense. The downside is if the attack is not a called shot, or if it's called in an area you're not protecting, you recieve a +1 penalty to defense. -Updated Character Sheet Rule- This is more a disclaimer than anything. It comes up often enough that I feel I should write it down: When submitting an updated character sheet, you must get it to me the day before the next session if your character's participating in it. If you wait until just before the session to send it to me, any changes won't count until the next session after.
