(rolling for the other channel) * Raxa shrugs with one shoulder aand says, with a slight grin, "I'm not the type that gets ignored, which has its own upsides." 2d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Logan (2d6+8) and gets a natural 3 for a result of 11. * Josh blinks and tries to stiffle a snicker. "Yeah, can't have that happening." * Yoshiko giggles. "Maybe you could sneak in some other way?" * Raxa snorts. "It only gets worse with none of you having proper markings. Let us be honest here... I'm sure there's many things well have to learn before our time is up." 'Proper' markings? What kind of markings should we have? ( A tattoo of pants ) * Raxa starts to open her mouth, but then she blinks and mutters something under her breath. "The border town is under attack again." Is it? What can we do help it from here? ... Well fuck. The prince is still around though, right? * Raxa bites her lip, then says, "The boy doesn't know. For him, the fight is desperate." Well, we can teleport back and leave a note for the rest, hope everything turn out okay, or just ignore them. Option three is probably a bad idea. Yoshiko can communicate with Yuki, so we don't really need to leave a note, right? But splitting up even further might not be a good idea, but people need help... argh... Yeah, and... I dunno, all this teleporting does get you kinda drained. * Raxa looks to her hand, then clenches it and says, "I don't like abandoning the boy, even if he's way too shy." * Chess covers her face with her hands, takes a deep breath, then looks up. "I vote we go back, help people, and spend the night if it's possible, then come back here tomorrow when we have a little more of... whatever energy we've been using when we teleport." Spiritual power is how they describe it where I'm from. But some books also refer to it as Mana, although... there never was a formalization of its name. The problem is, if shit goes down here, we're not gonna be able to bail everybody out. * Raxa mms, with a slight smile, then nods slowly. Then she looks to Yoshiko. "If you can talk to your rabbit over long distances, then I think we will be fine." I'm just worried this is the bad thing we need to keep from happening. * Yoshiko nods. "I can talk to her as long as, well... I've never TRIED it cross-dimension. I don't think it'd work. But anywhere else, probably." Then we shouldn't wait. The fire isn't waiting either. Right, let's go cause some hav.. do some good, yes? Right! * Josh starts to crack his knuckles, and then pauses. "He is still near that shack we went to before right? Because having to ride out to where they're fighting's going to suck." In town, yes. And one of them is either a witch... or a deva. Then it's time to take the gloves off and see what we can really do. * Raxa shakes her head. "This is a world which thinks witches are illegal." Be careful about what you do. * Yoshiko laughs. "I'll be fine." * Josh snorts. "Oh no." Then he thinks about the shack. * Raxa 's face gets serious, crouching down and she puts her hands out at her sides as she focuses on coming in near Konte, thinking at him, "I'm coming." * Chess brings a pair of tonfa into being in her hands, then thinks about being at the shack. * Yuki imagines the shack, prepping for a teleport. (Gah, wrong character.) * Yoshiko imagines the shack, prepping for a teleport. [You arive in the shack! It's unoccupied! It's also not on fire, thanks to the fact that it's away from the main town. Outside it's very bright with flames, and people are running and screaming.] * Chess runs out into the middle of the town, looking for whoever's responsible. (Me as well?) * Yoshiko charges out and looks not-too-happy. Burning stuff is HER job. * Josh takes a moment to remind himself that looting the burning buildings is, in fact a terrible idea and he can't take any of whatever's here with him anyway. Then he heads out to find the source of fire. (Haha, had to remind myself that I'm not immune to fire in this game.) (Slightly different character!) Only there's a lot more than this morning's attack.] (Any obvious leader for the bad guys?) [There is. In the center of town is a bald man with narrow eyes. He's tall, thin, and shirtless, and has about 14 earrings in one ear. And he's tossing fireballs around, laughing and shouting "Burn! Burn and suffer!"] ( His name is probably Lord Burnevildark ) (Good name.) * Yoshiko takes a deep breath. "Well. I think we found one of the troublemakers." * Chess breathes deeply for a few seconds, then sets off at a run to attack Lord BurnyFace. "Let's go!" * Raxa comes out with the rest of them, and seeing the fire guy, advances straight forward, right alongside Chess. I have this brilliant plan. Chess? Yoshiko? Raxa? That guy's gotta die, and we're gonna do it! Right on! (Up Me Hearties! Everybody but me gets +1 ACV until he goes down!) * Raxa smirks. "Tactical genius knows no world, apparently." * Yoshiko concentrates and does her transformation thing. Bystandards? Pfah, who cares? They're out already.] * Yoshiko 's wings flex and she starts flying torwards the Fireball guy, slinging a spell as she goes if she can. [Apparently you've managed to catch his attention, too. He grins briefly, then throws back his head and screams to the heavens.] (I have a second attack, can I use it, or did I use it on the horse guys?) * Raxa follows through the hole Yoshiko's created, thinking at Konte, "We're on the attack. Keep the prince alive." ( Go ahead. ) * Josh looks around for the prince. (Arcane Napalm) 2d6+10 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Yoshiko (2d6+10) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 21. (BOOM) * Yoshiko motions with her staff, and a warp in space appears behind her, hurling a large sicekningly green ball torwards the Flaming dude, which bursts into blue and green flames on impact. [He catches fire while still screaming. As he does, he grows. His lower body becomes equine, his upper remains humanoid, but his head becomes that of a lion. Only his mane is on fire. So are his wrists, his tail and his hooves.] ( so, uh, he's really on fire now. ) [Chess!] * Yoshiko laughs. "Hey, we've got a REAL flamer here!" * Chess rushes forward and swings both of her tonfa at BurnyFace. 2 2d6+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Chess (2 2d6+9) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 17 19. After all this time, I was wondering if I'd ever get to fight another.] [Meanwhile another guy appears from one of the houses. He's armed with a club, and looks pretty average all around. Maybe a bit on the dull side. He runs forward and takes a swing at Chess, grunting manlyish as he does. "HURRRRR!"] (A MANLY MAN!) 2d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Chess (2d6+8) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 15. [And Chess easily gets out of the way.] [Josh] * Josh does his best to look non-theatening as he moves closer to the fighting and tries to find the prince in the firestorm! [Josh doesn't spot the prince in the fighting.] ( Raxaaaaa ) * Raxa keeps moving forward, but since he's very on fire she stops short of punching him with her bare fists. Instead, she draws the claw on her index finger across her palm and says, lowly, "Huracan, aid me," before snapping her hand out, a short whip of lightning sparking from the cut on her hand towards the other deva. "Tell us your goal, deva!" 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Raxa (2d6+6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 13. (Er, wait, add 2.) (And -2 to his defense on the 23 damage attack.) ( Uh, which attack is this? ) (Bardlyness!) (Serpent Lash.) (I remembered the +1 ACV, but forgot my weapon skill. ;) (Weapon skill is important!) (Or, more accurately, my magic skill. Zap zap zap.) [The lighting whip hits, leaving a scorch mark, but apparently it doesn't bother him too much.] [Yoshiko!] (Going to hit Horsedude with 2 Prismatic Lasers.) (I'll angle them so they don't hit Chess, but that means I won't get the guy NEXT to Chess either.) (Pretty sure I can manage that?) ( Yup. Horse guy is pretty big ) (And they're 37 damage each.) [They both hit. And that's gotten his attention.] ["My name is Orimir, and my plan? To burn everything! Starting with you! He tosses two handful of flames into the sky, and they come down like meteors in your general area.] ( Everyone gimme defense rolls but Josh. ) (What's the penalty for multiple defenses?) (Or are we just defending once?) [And before you ask, he does hit the guy with the club, who howls. "Ow! [Chess] (Can I target Divine Field to my opponents, or am I screwing my allies with it too?) * Yoshiko dodges through the bulk of the flames, emerging unscathed even though she really should have been hit. Heck, was it even POSSIBLE for her to go through that without some sort of trickery? She laughs. "Is that all you got? Careful, you might put someone's eye out!" (She used focused movement!) ( Divine Field only works on aspect manipulation ) ( He used an AoE attack ) (Ahh.) ( er... Wait, I'm confused ) (Well, I was thinking that maybe his aspect was somewhat Fire or something? But if it's not and I can't cancel it, then it doesn't matter.) ( Divine Field only affects you. You wouldn't want to give it to an opponent anyhow since it's basically a forcefield ) ( It's protective only. ) (Right, okay. I was thinking it was something different, sorry.) * Chess crouches down and starts transforming into her metanoia form. (Use Focused Movment to dodge complex patterns!) (Good job Yuki. Even without you here, you're such a useful tutorial companion.) ( Y'know, if this were a video game she probably would be :P ) (She WOULD be.) [Clubby raises his club and shouts, "ME TOO!" "Oh my god, the other deva's a FREAKIN' FLOUNDER with a ship inside!" * Josh shakes his head and runs up to where the combatis happening. "Okay ladies, no more of that getting hit shit, we're here to deliver the ass kicking, not recieve it!" (Have an extra defence!) [Raxa] * Raxa stumbles forward from being lit on fire and snarls. "Fire is life, boy. You're not worthy of it." She cuts her other palm and lashes out with the lightning crossways. Same attack! Zap zap zap! 2d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Raxa (2d6+8) and gets 20, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "If I go crazy, will you still call me Superman?" (eat it) (Woot!) (TASTY DEATH!) [And Raxa hits Orimir, who's starting to look a bit winded.] [Yoshiko] (Also -2 to defense, and if it fails the defense by 12 or more, it's double damage.) [Given how late it is, I'm just gonna say they both hit and horse guy and club guy are turned into pulp.] * Yoshiko sighs and floats down, transforming back when she lands. "Wow, that's... wow. Tiring." She grins at the others. "But a real rush." I've gotta say that I'm impressed, and very glad to not be on fire or crushed under a star." * Chess stops turning into a cat, and goes back to human, falling heavily to the ground. "Ugh. Please tell me we're done saving for now. I'm super tired." Sorry, gotta find the prince and make sure he's okay. Hey, uh, guys? * Yoshiko looks at the fires. "Maybe we should put those out?" (Are the other soldiers dead? Or just being wiped out?) If there's a river or a well or something I can probably come up with buckets, but we've gotta make sure the prince is okay. [They're retreating now that their leader's gone.] * Raxa exhales, slightly scorched, and makes a hand sign to Yoshiko, before she starts walking to the nearest building on fire. "Check on the prince. I will help with the fires." * Yoshiko makes a peace sign. "Yuki and the others stopped the King from being brainwashed. There was another deva there." * Yoshiko gets up and starts to seach for the prince. [It doesn't take long to find him. He's being escorted to the hospital someone set up by that guy with the eyepatch from before.] [Looks like he has an injury.] * Yoshiko mmms and tries to at least diagnose what kind of injury it is. * Chess follows Raxa to help as much as she can with putting out the fires. * Josh sighs and goes to, urgh, organise a bucket brigade, hopefully nobody will ask where all the handy metal buckets came from. [He's got a wound in his side. Hard to tell how serious it is, but there's blood.] * Raxa actually gets to the buildings on fire and, extending a bloody hand for a moment, says with a sharp commanding voice, "Fire, subside. These people haven't invited your wrath." * Yoshiko winces and runs off to find her companions. Maybe one of them has a healing spell. * Chess realizes there is no way she can help with whatever Raxa's doing and runs off to help Josh instead. (Can I use luck manipulation to make sure he stays stable for the time being?) ( Sure, but it'll be 1 point per minute ) (Shouldn't be more than one minute to get Raxa.) (I R HEELZER) (I'm a med student! But I'm not there.) * Yoshiko looks around, and since Raxa's the only one that seems to be doing MAGIC, she runs over to Raxa. "Hey, found the prince. He got hit really hard, and I don't have any healing magic or potions that'll handle that sort of injury. Do you know any healing spells?" [With the attack over, the survivors do their best to put out the fires, villagers and knights included.] * Raxa looks over at her, lowering her hand once the survivors start taking over, and she says, "A little, yes." * Josh is helping! No really. * Raxa gestures off. "I speak to blood. Lead me to him and we will see." * Yoshiko nods and leads Raxa off to the prince! * Raxa follows... to the prince! [The prince is in the makeshift hospital with the other injured. The healers are inspecting the wound in his side. It's not wide but it could be deep.] (Where's Konte?) ( Right behind you! ) (Aww yeah.) [Konte comes up right behind Raxa. "Hello."] (Bow chicka bow-wow) (Hahaha!) * Raxa smiles slightly to herslef and looks over her shoulder at him. "Hello. Thank you." She then turns back to the prince and walks up slowly, looking to a healer and saying, "Will you be able to care for him?" (I think I saw this in amovie once....) [He frowns. "His highness took a spear wound to the abdomen. It's not too deep, but it could be infected... It's too early to tell."] [Suddenly you hear a voice in your heads. "Hee Ho! Zomegar needs you back at the Sanctuary, HeeSHoP!"] * Raxa nods slightly and says, "May I look?" She then walks up to the prince and puts her hand to him. They probably won't stop her. ( Med (diagnosis) Raxa ) 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Raxa (2d6+6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 13. * Josh looks up and shouts at the sky, "KINDA BUISY!" then he passes the bucket of water to the next person in line. [Josh gets some funny looks.] * Josh ignores them. * Chess hands passes water buckets further down the line from Josh. "I'm going to murder something if we don't get some rest before the next crisis." (Also, I'm gonna help Raxa if I can.) 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Yoshiko (2d6+6) and gets a natural 11 for a result of 17. [Well, sure enough, he's not in danger of dying from blood loss, but it could be infected.] (How hard would it be to disinfect it?) (I have a coat-type thing I can pull disenfectants out of.)
