( Hokaaaay.... ) * Raxa is just kinda walking into the people group, it's not like she knows how many people are on each team! [Raxa walks to the court, where a bunch of people are gathered around the ball. One of them, a short dwarfish man with a thick beard and no hair, spreads his arms wide and says, "Wellllll! If it isn't Tuesday's favorite killer!"] * Raxa nods back and replies, "Well, he didn't take no for an answer." She looks around at them. "How does this game work?" * Logan keeps an eye on the game, and on Raxa. Though she can probably take care of herself. Really this is more of an academic interest: can such a game actually be organized and played without blood being spilled? * Logan is personally betting on "no." ...But would be happy to be proved wrong. [One of the guys, an African (and not African American), says, "I thought he was joking about some countries not knowing basketball."] [Another man, who just happens to be Phillip Chang, says, "It's a simple enough game. Though we're still deciding 'house rules'"] * Raxa nods and crosses her arms. "I suppose I could watch, then." [One of the other players, a woman, says, "You sure? We don't mind noobs."] [And says a guy with a huge mustache, "Yeah. Not like we're Ravens." He casts a scathing look at the other end of the court, where a bunch of people are huddled together.] * Raxa grins and says, "Then I will play." I have been waiting for a good ball game. [Phillip nods. "Then I'll teach you the basic rules while they decide on the rest."] ( Push the X button to dribble ) (X!) * Raxa learns the basic rules! [She sure does. And by the time she finishes, the others have made their decisions. The woman, who happens to be Tina Moretti from the first fight so I don't have to make up new names, says, "Okay, we've decided on no powers."] * Raxa looks up from dribbling and licks her lips. "Sounds fine." [They do some more sorting, and at the end there's ten people left. "Great," says the guy with the mustache, "5 on 5 then."] ["For the first game, anyway," says Tina.] (That's not ominous or anything) ["Yeah, yeah," says the bald dwarf, "Pick teams already, let's get this game going."] ["'Let's get the bets going,' you mean," says the African.] ["It's just a little wager Mike. Can I call you Mike?"] ["No."] [Tina clears her throat. "Anyway, I went last time, so... how about Phillip and John?"] [There's a murmer of agreement, and Phillip and John-the-mustache-man step away from the group and start picking people. Raxa's on Phil's team.] * Dicesuke has joined #Game * Raxa goes over to his team and rubs her hands together, and as she gets there she says, "For Zhro. Is there anything else to know?" ["Yeah," says a man not on either team. "What the fuck is Zrho?"] * Raxa smirks and says, "If you don't know, I won't bug you with it." [The African snorts, "And they said I was from a backwards country."] [Tina says, "Can we just play?"] (you mean: "What the Zhro is Zhro?" We should totally turn it into an expletive.) (That's uncool.) ( I think you mean the Zrho ) ( You keep getting the name wrong :P ) (Dammit. Zrho.) (I blame Logan, he said it wrong in main.) [The dwarfish man is now taking bets, apparently. Many of the onlookers are moving up to him and handing him... something. Probably point cards.] (I was only copying what... Nope, you're right, it's my fault.) ["Alright," says John, "Everyone behind your team captains. Phil and I will start."] * Raxa gets where she's supposed to be, and leans forward slightly on the balls of her feet. ( And the GM realizes what a pain it is to do a basketball game in text form with only one PC ) (That's why I figured it'd just be big glossy poses.) (And maybe some rolls, but mainly big glossy poses.) * Josh makes his way over to the dwarf and puts 50 on Phil's team. ( Lot more poses for me :X ) (Well, I more meant just like 'describing the arc of a game.') (Or a few games.) [The dwarf, whose name is Lloyd, eagerly takes John's money.] (Since doing the detail work is really not seeming like it's worth it?) ( Yah ) ( Gimme a sports roll ) 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Raxa (2d6+6) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 11. (Startin' the night off right.) (+1 if the ball games spec counts!) (I would hope so.) (It's reasonably similar.) (If not exactly the same. This dribbling crap and not using your feet.) ( We'll say it does ) ( But it wouldn't for football :P ) (Yeah, football is far too different.) (Maybe soccer or basketball, that's about it.) (So a 12, then!) [The first game is actually a pretty tight one. John is surprisingly good at basketball, but apparently Phillip's Kung-Fu training also gives him an edge. Raxa contributes somewhat, though she fumbles the ball once. The final score winds up being Phillip's team 10, John's team 7.] [Incidentally, they're playing til 10, so. ( Actually make that 15 ) ( Makes more sense with basketball rules ) (Josh makes a profit!) ( Roll sports again ) (Go me!) 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Raxa (2d6+7) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 14. [This game goes much better, with Raxa scoring several points. John's team doesn't do quite as well, and the final score ends up being 15-6.] * Josh smirks and talks to some of the other prisoners who were betting on the game. * Raxa grins and brushes her hair back, preening slightly. She walks by Josh and comments, with a grin, "Am I doing good?" You're making me rich! So yes, very good. Keep it up. [Lloyd seems happy, turning a profit. The other prisoners are starting to change their bets to Phil's team. ] * Raxa adds, still grinning, as she walks off to get going on the next game, "I meant to watch." Of course, I wouldn't insult you by looking somewhere else, would I? [Lloyd elbows Josh when Raxa's back in the game and grins. "She is good to watch, isn't she?"] * Josh oofs. "Amaizing, but a word of advice; never, ever, ever, EVER get her mad at you." He mocks a shudder. [There's one final game. Woo! Roll fer it] 2d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Raxa (2d6+7) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 14. (I don't know what you hate about me, dicesuke.) (Usually you like my female characters. :|) (Maybe it's because ND's jealous I'm playing a blood mage.) (You still haven't reached Ana's level of hate.) [Phil's team wins again! The margin is a bit closer this time, 15-9.] [John throws up his hands at the end and says, "Ok, I think we've had enough. Gee-gee."] * Raxa cracks her knuckles and stretches them above her head. "It is not so different from the ball games at home." * Raxa heads Joshward for a second, adding, "Less physical." (I assume nobody responds to 'Zrho' in the continued gaming?) [The African asks Tina, "Where does she come from, that she's never heard of basketball?"] ( Nope ) ('kaaay!) ( Just because you suffered through the game doesn't mean you get a free clue :P ) (Hey, maybe they were in the mix.) (You never know when there's Zrho!) So, what next, round with powers on? Double the odds? [He shakes his head. "Nah. I never run the betting with powers. Everyone knows it'll be one-sided."] * Raxa nods and says, to Josh, "It seems bad to get hurt without a reason... you might have an event the next day." Oh? Who's got the instant win? * Josh then turns to Raxa. "I suppose that's true, and the event could always be powers on sports." ["Depends on what exactly they decide. My money's on Mikey though."] Ohh? ["Yeah... Guy's good at sports."] * Logan walks slowly over to Raxa and Josh, looking distracted and a little bit weary. "So, how're the games going?" * Josh opens his mouth to say something, but can't find words for a few minutes. "..." * Raxa grins and says, "The team I was in won all three games. Basketball is a good game." "...Josh, you ok?" Logan waves his hand in front of Josh's face. [He laughs. "Seriously? I'm not gonna tell you. Bet against him if you don't believe me, then ask me why you lost, after."] [Lloyd takes his credits and hobbles away.] * Josh shakes his head. "Just getting led on... And hey, you owe me!" * Logan grins at Raxa. "Somehow it doesn't surprise me that you'd be good at Basketball. You're the right build for it, anyway." * Raxa arches an eyebrow. "Is there something I'm not the right build for?" ( Because I have a respec!) * Josh chases down and attempts to collect his winnings from the betting. * Logan grins "American Football. Although you'd probably wipe the floor there too. Most guys where I'm from are taught from a very early age not to hit girls. And the girls aren't supposed to hit back either. I think you'd confuse them." * Raxa looks confused at that. "That is dumb." [Josh gets his credits.] * Logan shrugs. "I didn't write the rules." He pauses. "Nor did I play by them, actually. I am also not built for such sports. In fact, I'm more built for sports like chess." * Josh comes back. "Sheesh." * Logan realizes how strange that might sound as it leaves his mouth. "The board game, that is." He amends. [At this point, the bell rings, signifying dinner time. The guard from before stands up and shouts, "All right, everyone to the cafeteria. Let's go."] * Raxa looks Logan over a moment, then says, "... are you that weak?" She looks over at Josh. "You would hit a woman, yes?" * Josh blinks. "Yes?" The hell did I miss? * Logan chuckles. "I'm not what you would call strong. I made it through academy training by out-thinking my opponents, and generally using martial styles that involved turning the other person's strength against them. * Raxa grins and punches Josh in the arm, looking back at Logan. "Logan is telling me that men where he comes from won't hit women." * Logan rolls his eyes. "I was just saying that if Raxa tried to play Football, she'd confuse the hell out of those big brutes." * Raxa starts heading cafeteriaward. * Logan pauses, thoughtful. "though, now you mention it, we do tend to vilify men who hit women, but women who hit men are just standing up for themselves." * Logan follows along. Anchient traditional double standard. * Raxa snorts and replies, "We bleed like any other. The kings learned better of us hundreds of years ago." Though some did not learn the lesson as well as they should have. * Josh snorts. "Some people just don't learn." * Logan chuckles. "Oh hey, just a heads-up. I'm scoring some guy some smack to help us find our quarry. Any moral or ethical objections should be voiced now." (Why aren't we in the other group yet!) * Josh eyes Logan. (And...switch!) (Let us know when we are back in the other channel.) (Maybe. Brett, are we caught up with the rest yet, or should we stay here until the fight is over?) ( Uh... go ahead? :o ) (Yay, it's joining time!)
