<@Brett> [Nazi Earth, Day 7.] <@Josh> (Days fly by when you're having fun) <@Brett> ( orzz.... ) <@Brett> ( I'm totally lost. This would be easier if everyone was here ) <@Josh> (I'll stop now, sorry.) <@Brett> ( Actually.... ) <@Brett> ( Man... I'm so lost. X: ) <@Brett> [It's currently lunch time. Hooray! The good news is that somehow your block managed to avoid any events on Friday or Saturday, two of the biggest event days of the week. The bad news is this meant no opportunity to earn points, so if you want to eat something, it's probably going to be gloo for most of you.] <@Brett> [Anyhow, you pile into the cafeteria. Fatima and Sun come along with you. Sun's looking morose, and even Fatima looks pretty grim.] <@Brett> [Go!] * @Billie looks around and leans over to Sun, murmuring, "Is something big going down today? I' <@Billie> 've totally lost track of time since ending up here. * @Josh pokes at his non-gloo. "Is it just me or shouldn't risking your life for entertainment be worth more than one weeks worth of food?" <@Brett> [You failed to go. As a result of your inaction, the world meets an untimely end. And it's all your fault.] <@Josh> (Whups! Hey, can we pick the dev out of the remains? He's the other alive guy) * Chess has been bored out of her mind for the last few days. Currently, she's staring at her gloo unblinkingly. * @Yoshiko twirls her hair. "I don't know. It's been, what... seven days now?" * @Billie furrows her brow. "Uh... Chess, don't you have that points thing or something... here, take mine just in case." She hands over her points. <@Josh> Six? I shoulda payed more attention to what day it was when we got here. <@Brett> [Sun nods, picking at her salad. "There's only one event for cell block 4 this weekend."] <@Billie> What's that? * @Yoshiko has been painting and etching in the downtime. Seems she's pretty used to having nothing to do, honestly. * @Billie has an untouched bowl of goop in front of her. Come to think of it, she hasn't eaten since she got there. * @Raxa states, with certainty, "This is the seventh day." She stretches, then adds, "I'm not liking how long this is taking." <@Brett> [Fatima munches on a granola bar. Go figure. "Mean's we've been picked for a major attraction. Probably a deathmatch with another block."] * Chess continues to not blink. "No, I'm fine, thanks. I'm thinking about sculpting with this stuff." <@Brett> [She eyes Raxa. "How long this is taking?"] <@Josh> Just can't catch a break can ya. * @Billie thinks to her new disciple: ~She serious, Sun? A deathmatch as in we have to kill, not just incapacitate?~ * @Yoshiko smiles at Chess. "Do you like to paint? I could teach you." <@Brett> [Sun nods. "My first... time... Was a deathmatch."] * Chess suddenly blinks away the tears that have been forming in her eyes from staring and turns to Yoshiko. "Huh? Oh know, I'm terrible at art. I mean, I don't mind learning, but it'll be pretty useless in the end." * @Raxa looks over at Fatima, and grins. "Well, I can't say I plan to be here forever." * @Billie hugs Sun. "I'm sorry." <@Yoshiko> Hey, if you want, I could teach you how to make spell cards. They're an expression of yourself in the form of spells. <@Brett> [Fatima adds, "It's like the arena, sort of. But matches go on until death. And everyone ends up fighting. No free passes like other events."] <@Yoshiko> At least, that's what I tell people. <@Brett> ( Which really makes me wish Logan was around, but. ) <@Josh> Mhm, how to fake my own death... <@Billie> Just a... a way to clear out prisoners, huh. This place is so fucking cruel. <@Yoshiko> (I would say 'Duh. Nazis,' but I don't know Nazis!) <@Brett> [Fatima nods.] * Chess seems taken aback. "I... really? I mean... my general magical theory's pretty sound, I think, at least for the Western part of my world's kind of magic, but I've never really tried anything..." <@Brett> [Sun says, "Last time, we fought in teams of three. In my match at the end, only I and another boy were alive." She looks down. "He was younger than me. He couldn't have been older than fourteen."] * @Yoshiko giggles. "Oh, I know western magic. Kinda. That's where my mom was from. I think. She LOOKS like it?" * Chess grins at Josh. "Don't make it too realistic, or someone might turn you into a zombie~." <@Brett> [Fatima casts a glance at Chess and Yoshiko, then says to Raxa, "What's wrong with your friends?"] * @Josh rubs his chin. "Good point, gotta keep the zombie population down." * @Raxa laughs faintly and says, "Their minds wander for amusement." <@Brett> ["Mm... This place will do that to you, I guess."] High zombie populations are actually unhealthy for native wildlife for mroe reasons than you might think. Great for the vegetation, though. <@Yoshiko> Zombies don't last long where I'm from. <@Yoshiko> So I wouldn't really know. * @Billie squeezes Sun's hand. "It's not your fault," she tells her. "It's pure self-defense at this point... you're not a bad person. Just in a terrible place." * Yuki hops along stealthily under the tables until she reaches Yoshiko and leaps into her lap. <@Josh> I'll take your word for it, only zombie I've ever seen was this genemod'd guy who was stoned out of his fucking mind on something. Fucker didn't stop even after we blew his arm off. * Chess looks really happy as she talks about her favorite subject ever. "Well, my knowledge is mostly theoretical, of course, but there's been a few books written that I totally don't own at all because they're very illegal to have." <@Brett> ( Asanjya probably owned them :o ) And my aunt definitely does -not- own a zombie cat made by a necromancer friend of hers when she was a little older than me. <@Billie> (You bet she did.) <@Yoshiko> Of course, you'd never have books you aren't supposed to have. Just like how I didn't have any books from libraries on extremely long overdue periods. <@Josh> (And kept them in her hair?) <@Billie> (No, she didn't have HairSpace.) Exactly! <@Yoshiko> Oh, that lady that they just got? That people're calling a diva? She's not who we're looking for. <@Brett> ( Giving everyone a CP to spend on someone else's character was one of my better ideas. ) <@Josh> Damn. * Chess 's smile falls a little, but she shrugs. "I figured, but it was probably still worth checking." * @Raxa drums her fingers on the table. "And... no more strange assassins either." * @Yoshiko ruffles Yuki. "You're a good rabbit, yes you are." * @Yoshiko looks to Chess and tilts her head. "So, what do you do if, hypothetically, too many zombies show up and you have a zombie apocalypse?" <@Brett> ( Well..... Now I've got a bit of a problem. ) <@Brett> ( We could FF to the event tonight, and then I'd have to figure out what to do with Logan, or we could have the rest of the session be in the cafeteria as filler. ) <@Raxa> (Logan's riding a poney.) Theoretically? There has to be some protected food supply, or the controlling necromancer dies off from lack of food. If the necromancer dies, the magic will probably start falling apart - making one zombie permenant is one thing, but an army's worth is really difficult - and the zombies fall apart. That's the prevailing theory. <@Josh> Huh. <@Yoshiko> What if they're not magical, though? Like, uh... self-reproducing zombies? There've been some attempts at experiments in isolated areas, but if any of the 'good guys' catch on before the experiment's completed, they usually rush in and kill everything. * Yuki looks content. <@Josh> (Logan's caught dysnintary from eating too much gloo.) Like science-disease zombies? Not really my field. <@Yoshiko> (CURE IT WITH PEPPERMINT!) <@Yoshiko> (STARVE IT OUT!) * @Raxa leans on one hand and looks over at the Magic talking team. "Life without life. It's a horrible thing." <@Josh> ( /me whacks Zeg with a Ford truck.) One of the big problems is that the really strong necromancers like to hide their awesome secrets because, you know, that's the way to keep power. <@Yoshiko> Hmmmm, yes. I find the most powerful books were usually the best hidden. <@Yoshiko> Either that or they're diaries. * @Yoshiko giggles. <@Josh> I can see that happening. Clearly the best place for a secret, all powerful book is under the bed. <@Brett> ( Well we can fast forward if you want. Or not. Whatev' ) (FF is fine.) <@Raxa> (I would figure you should just have things happen without him?) <@Raxa> (I mean, if you're gonna run without him, you should probably run without him. ^^;) <@Billie> (Yeah, you can probably autopilot his fight or something.) <@Josh> (Or he dies of AFKness. I mean, it's not like it's going to be perminant.) <@Brett> ( If I do that he gets dead :P ) <@Josh> (What's that? People die when you kill them? :P) <@Brett> ( Ok, I've got a plan. ) <@Yoshiko> (If they're seperate fights, you could just run it at some other time.) <@Brett> [So inevitably time passes, and around 5:00 p.m. you do wind up returning to Central Park Arena and into the locker room, where everyone looks more nervous than usual. Guess that comes with fighting people you know nothing about.] <@Brett> [People begin gathering equipment. Sun's shaking slightly.] <@Brett> [Oh, and sure enough, the monitor is flashing the words: Upcoming event: 4-person team deathmatch: cell blocks 4 & 5] * @Josh plans to spend at least some of tonights points on booze, somebody in here has to have managed to build a still and a drink would be nice. <@Brett> [Fatima frowns. "This isn't good."] * @Billie looks at Fatima. "What, worse than your normal cell vs. cell deathmatch?" * @Billie has no equipment, so she doesn't gather it. <@Brett> [She nods. "Cell block 5 has a group called the Breakers. They're a lot more ruthless than the Ravens."] <@Brett> [Sun shivers. "They enjoy it. The hurting, the killing... They'd rather be in prison than anywhere else."] * @Yoshiko goes ahead and gathers her basic equipment of a few pads and a light helmet. Headshots are bad, mkay. <@Yoshiko> Hey, uh... you guys aren't going to hold it against me if I do kill someone, are you? <@Brett> [You can hear the crowd cheering from beyond the walls.] * @Billie looks at Yoshiko like she's insane. "... No." <@Josh> Why would I do that? * @Billie turns to Sun and Fatima. "How big is this group? The Breakers?" <@Brett> [Fatima shrugs. "There's not much choice. It's kill or be killed."] <@Yoshiko> Because killing people is bad? I mean, I don't think I've ever, uh... killed killed someone. (Aren't Yoshiko and I in block two? Or am I mixed up?) <@Brett> [Fatima shakes her head. "I'm not sure. Larger than the Ravens."] <@Brett> ( You're all in block 4. ) (Ah. Wonder what I was thinking of...) <@Yoshiko> But if you're not worried about it, I won't hold back. <@Josh> It sucks, it's messy, and you're probably going to get sick over it. Second one's easier. * @Raxa pats Yoshiko on the back. "Life demands life, Yoshiko. At some point we all must pay for what we have in blood." * @Yoshiko (zegond@c-24-15-245-98.hsd1.il.comcast.net) Quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer) <@Raxa> (MY HAND SEVERS CONNECTIONS.) (But Yoshiko must pay in disconnection!) <@Brett> [Sun shakes. "If... If you don't, they kill you. And they say they'll kill your family."] * Yoshiko (zegond@c-24-15-245-98.hsd1.il.comcast.net) has joined #MCDC * @Billie blinks. "What? The Nazis go and hunt down your fucking *family* if you don't participate enough?" * @Josh stifles a snort. "Something in my nose, swear." <@Josh> (And that happens before Billie) That'd be kinda funny. Heck, I'd pay to see them try and take out mom. She's scary. * Chess looks ill, but she creates her tonfa inconspicuously and breathes steadily. "Good luck finding -my- fucking family," she mutters. Or laying hands on anyone if they did, for that matter. <@Brett> [Sun nods.] * Yoshiko looks sadly at Chess. "Your family are hiding?" * Chess blinks at Yoshiko. "No, no. Well, Bianca's hard to track down, and I think Sephy's training in China or something, but they're not exactly -nearby-, you know?" <@Brett> [Outside, the audience gives a huge cheer. Inside, the buzzer sounds.] * @Billie scowls. ~So close to breaking this secrecy deal and murdering every last guard in this fucking complex,~ she thinks to Sun. * Chess mouths, 'Wrong world.' <@Josh> Let's go see who's in the group full of Ravens, yeah? * @Josh starts walking to the exit. <@Brett> ( Uhhhhh ) <@Raxa> (He means the exit to the locker room/entrance to the arena area.) <@Josh> (yes.) <@Brett> ( The buzzer was just anouncing the start :X ) <@Brett> ( Nobody's name has been called yet ) <@Josh> (So, wait, we're not competing?) <@Brett> ( Not yet. ) <@Brett> ( It's 4 vs. 4 ) <@Josh> (Oh.) * @Josh looks up to see who's names are on the marquees then! * Yoshiko nodnods to Chess. * Yoshiko takes a look for names! <@Brett> [The names are announced! Among them from your side: Renji Saito, Hammond Argyle, Mike and Lloyd.] <@Brett> [They head out shortly. The match doesn't last long though. Lloyd mostly hangs back while the other three pretty much devestate the other team. It's bloody and messy and ew.] <@Brett> [Fatima mutters, "Great, they must have gotten people who couldn't fight."] <@Brett> ( And I should really be rolling for you guys. ) * @Raxa squints. * Yoshiko winces. "That's so ugly. Sooooo ugly. They should fight much more cleanly." <@Brett> ( Except I don't know how to organize this. Blargh ) * @Josh shakes his head. "You'd think they'd weight the odds so the people who can fight get called more often. Slaughter's boring." <@Brett> d80 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (d80) and gets a natural 2 for a result of 2. <@Brett> d79 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (d79) and gets a natural 21 for a result of 21. <@Brett> d78 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (d78) and gets a natural 55 for a result of 55. <@Brett> d77 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Brett (d77) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 9. * Chess continues to look sort of sick. * @Raxa shakes her head. "The callousness is the point, Josh." <@Raxa> To make life worth nothing. * Yoshiko wobbles a little bit, then leans against Chess. <@Josh> But that's still not something worth selling tickets too. * Chess puts an arm around Yoshiko and leans back. <@Brett> [The next match includes Josh, Sun, Tina Moretti, and some guy you've never met before, William McCreedy. He's a lanky chap with long sideburns. From Ireland, apparently.] <@Brett> ( Josh and log, #arena ) * @Billie looks at that, then turns to Josh. "Take care of Sun, okay?" <@Billie> (The rest of us can watch, yes?) <@Brett> [Sun freezes as her name's called. <@Brett> ( Yeah. ) <@Josh> C'mon kid let's go keep you alive yeah? Billie'd miss you. * @Billie squeezes Sun's hand, then lets go. "Just survive, Sun," she tells her. <@Brett> [At least until the guards enter the room with their threating assault weapons. She looks nervously at Billie, then at Josh, then tries not to cry.] * Yuki holds Yuki out to Sun. "Here, rub Yuki for good luck." (err, Yoshiko does that.) Good luck, guys. <@Josh> 'Sec! Then we're good. <@Billie> (You guys probably want to get into #arena if you're paying any attention to the fight.) <@Josh> C'mon Sun. We've gotta go. * Yoshiko eyes Josh and holds the rabbit out to him too. "Just 'cuz I don't think you should die yet." <@Josh> Aww thanks. <@Brett> [Sun stars at Yoshiko, then nervously rubs the rabbit. At least until a guard shouts, "Move your asses, unless you want a visit to solitary."] Okay, go go go! Good luck! <@Josh> Looks like I've gotta make my own luck! Seeya. * @Josh heads up. <@Brett> [At that, she gets over there in a hurry. Apparenlty solitary on this world implies something very very bad.] * @Raxa licks her lips before crossing her arms, rubbing her arms. "Your Sun, Billie... she seems so young." <@Brett> [Fatima looks at the monitor and frowns. "Shit. Two of them are Breakers. And the other two look like they know how to fight."] <@Raxa> (her upper arms). Oh, that doesn't look good at all. * @Billie sighs. "She is young. And the only reason she's here is because she needed to go through treatment to fix a... a disease from a fucked up bioweapon." <@Billie> It's not fair. <@Brett> ( Crossing her upper arms and rubbing her lower? That's a feat of extremes ) <@Raxa> (stab you) * @Raxa looks over at Billie and squints, before sighing and saying, quietly, "Of course, even adulthood is different here." * Yoshiko sighs. "That's not right. She's not a fighter." <@Brett> ["Neither is Tina," says Fatima. "She's okay, I guess, but in a fight to the death...." She sighs, "At least William's pretty good. Hope your friend is, too."] * Yoshiko shrugs. "I don't know, I've never engaged in combat with any of them. Except Billie, but she just hid." <@Brett> ( this is going to be a mess. :X ) <@Josh> (We who are about to die o/~) <@Raxa> (Yeah, I don't see Josh surviving this alone.) <@Josh> (And if all else fails I hit the Mform button and can fight) (M-form might be out of bounds, though?) <@Josh> (Altform should be genemoddable.) (True, I mean a lot of the stuff they do is basically alt-form stuff.) <@Brett> ( It's not :P All your alternate forms are too far off the wall to be considered gen-mods ) <@Josh> (;_;) (What are you talking about? Our M-forms are all totally normal looking. ...Well, on one of these worlds, they might be.) <@Raxa> (I AM QUEEN OF THE TURKEYS) <@Brett> [Says Fatima, "Tina's a coward. Knowing her she'll try to stay out of the fight for as long as possible."] <@Brett> ( Mebbe, but not this one :P ) <@Billie> Not to her advantage. I mean, if they start taking people out, then she'll be outnumbered fast. <@Josh> (A mind controller!) <@Raxa> (Mind controllers are great when they work. They're -1 enemy forces +1 ally forces.) * Yoshiko blinks. "She's too smart to do that. Somethin's wrong." Big throbbing head probably is it. I can't sense anything unusual, though. * @Billie shakes her head. "If it's genetic in nature, I bet we can't sense shit." Oh, right. * @Raxa keeps her lips pressed together. "I have never truly enjoyed watching." * @Billie nods. * Yoshiko turns away at the gorry sight. * @Billie watches as Sun buries a knife in the guy's stomach, and she doesn't look grossed out. Instead, her face is impassive and her eyes hard. * Chess watches, but she's pale as a sheet. <@Brett> [Fatima stares. "I didn't expect that from William. He's always got such a carefree look about him..."] <@Billie> Yeah, and what kinda person's carefree in a hellhole like this? * Yoshiko looks back just in time to catch a view of the charred husk of a person. "That's way overkill." <@Brett> ["The crazy kind."] * Yoshiko looks at Fatima. "Do you think I'm crazy?" * @Raxa chuckles to herself. <@Brett> [Fatima blinks at Yoshiko. "Isn't it obvious?"] * Yoshiko smiles a little sheepishly. "Not terribly." <@Josh> (Face me and I shall TAUNT YOU A SECOND TIME!) * @Raxa replies, "Yoshiko, you are clearly crazy. You fly and have conversations about magic where there is no such thing as magic." <@Brett> [Fatima looks to Raxa and agrees with the little finger-twirling "person-is-crazy" sign.] There is a such thing as magic! * Yoshiko hmphs. Just ask Yuki. She can tell you! * @Raxa grins slightly. She would share a cantrip with her to seal the joke, but you see, there is no magic. * Yuki looks cutely at Fatima and Raxa. She's... a normal rabbit. * Yoshiko would probably do a little cantrip too, but she IS trying to keep up appearances as being loony. * @Raxa looks down at the rabbit and mms, then looks back at the screen. "The boy may pull it out yet. It isn't always so pleasant when he surprises me." <@Billie> Hope so. It was a theoretical discussion anyway, remember? He can totally do it! * @Raxa smiles slightly at Chess. "Yes, Chess, but still very strange." <@Brett> ( mmm ) * Chess smiles wanly, still watching the screen. <@Brett> ( When this is done, do you want to do another fight? ) (Depends on if there's time.) <@Brett> ( We could save it for next week, but that feels kind of like dragging it out. ) (I mean, with the totally random setups, it's very possible we could be here all night waiting.) <@Brett> ( No, next fight would be you four :P ) (Oh, that'd be interesting.) <@Brett> Well I don't want to run 1 fight fo each of you. :P <@Brett> ( ooc! ) (I'm happy to do another fight) (brb) (Back) <@Brett> [And Tina arrives, going over to her group of friends, who don't seem upset at all that she stayed out of most of the fight.] <@Brett> ( Oh, I forgot points. :o ) (Points!) <@Josh> (I'm going to suck on points! I didn't take anybody out!) <@Raxa> (But still a ton!) (Still a lot!) <@Josh> (Yay giant pile of points! I'm going to spend it gettign healed!) <@Brett> [Everyone else arrives too. Woot.] * @Raxa greets Josh when he comes back by saying, with a grin, "You did pretty well, Josh. Pleasant surprises are the best ones." * @Billie rushes forward and gives Sun a hug once she gets in. "You okay?" <@Brett> [William gets an assortment of looks from envious to fearful. Sun just finds a place to sit down and cries.] <@Brett> ["I hate this place," is all she says.] <@Brett> ( So, another fight or no? ) <@Josh> I'm glad you had so much confidence in me. Now I need a beer a water, and probably a bucket... and then somebody to fix my arm, because fuck this hurts. <@Josh> (I'm up for giving color commentary.) * @Raxa replies, with a thin smile, "You didn't much confidence in you either." <@Raxa> (+have) * Chess glances over at Sun, then looks to Josh. "I'm glad you guys are mostly safe. Good job." <@Josh> Yeah, but self depreciation's my whole schtic. * @Josh waves at Chess and then winces. "Thanks." * @Raxa walks over to take his arm in her hands, carefully, and replies, "Then you should be clearer." <@Raxa> (I'm awake!) <@Josh> Hey, I'll have you know that I'm very good at standing back and shouting at people to do what I want. <@Brett> ( Ehhh... It's pretty late though. As much as I don't want to do filler, I don't think there's many options. ) <@Raxa> (Also, I'll give Josh what little healing I can. Woo little healing.) (I'm good to go.) <@Raxa> (If it's filler, it's filler. I'd like to get out of filler pretty soon, though. ;) <@Brett> [I'm calling it. Session over.]
