(I AM A LOG) * Billie (ardweden@173-29-53-110.client.mchsi.com) has joined #arena * Josh (RanDoMs@c-76-103-147-44.hsd1.ca.comcast.net) has joined #arena (This works bettter if I don't drop one of the 'a's) (It's true.) * Yoshiko (zegond@c-24-15-245-98.hsd1.il.comcast.net) has joined #arena * Chess (Wingdance@cpe-98-14-111-168.nyc.res.rr.com) has joined #arena <@Brett> [You're herded into the arena. The Irish guy doesn't look too disturb, cheerfully saying, "Let's give it our best, shall we?"] <@Brett> [He looks like the type of guy who's ingratingly annoying without actually trying to be.] * Josh laughs. "Better then our best, I don't want any corpses on our side. So we're going to kick ass and not bother with names." (Up me Hearties for +1 ACV) <@Brett> [The arena is a big cage, much like it was the first time, but it's also larger, with plenty of room to maneuvre. There's four stone pillars at 45 degree angles from the edge to the center, but otherwise it's completely flat and featureless.] (Metal cage with stone pilars?) <@Brett> ["Aye, that's the spirit, mate," says William, right before he gets an eyeful of the opponents. One is a very large African-American with a ball and chain for a weapon. One is a woman with a pouch full of needles, one is a shrimpy bald man who seems to have no weapons, but an over-sized head and small neck, and one is a man with purple skin and a baseball bat.] <@Brett> ( Yep ) <@Brett> ( The cage is possibly electrified. ) <@Brett> [There's red and blue circles on each side of the cage. The other team steps into the red, as the cell-block 4 members move towards the blue. It puts you at a distance of about 20 feet from the other group.] * Josh nods. "I refuse, absolutly refuse to let the likes of them hurt me and mine, and for tonight, you're all mine. And them? They're gonna die. It's all there is to it." (Blackbeareds finest for +1 body.) <@Brett> [An announces shouts, "Combatants! The rules are simple: Kill everyone on the opposing team!"] <@Brett> [The floating bot at the top of the cage beeps. 3.... 2... 1... go!"] <@Brett> ( Roll init! ) 2d6+4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Josh (2d6+4) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 13. (And I just realized I forgot the IMPORTANT buff. AoI.) <@Brett> [Tina, Bald guy, William, Josh, Black guy, Needles, Sun, Purple man] <@Brett> [The fight starts! Tina produces a dagger and immediately!.... Does nothing. She adopts a holding pattern and waits.] (AoI is super important!) <@Brett> [And the bald-guy's head visibly throbs, but he doesn't seem to actually do anything. Tina does, though. She suddenly decides it would be a good time to rush at Sun, who screams and just barely avoids the dagger.] Oh fuck me! <@Brett> [william smiles. "Well, now.... Shall I have a go?" And he clasps one fist into the other and points them at the needle woman. A firey gout of, um, fire, flies forth, striking her. She grimaces as she dodges behind a pillar.] * Billie thinks to Sun: ~Pretty sure the bald dude's controlling Tina! You've gotta take him out.~ <@Brett> [Then it's Josh's move!] * Josh shouts up at Tina. "Hey, you! Wrong side! Don't make me come up there and knock some senes into bitch!" (Roll intimidate, because I fail at remembering how my own powers work) 2d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Josh (2d6+8) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 17. (That beats 10, AoI is active!) (Also, into you) (And hey, if I can intimidate her into doing what I want, even better.) <@Brett> ( Mebbe! ) (Other than that, Turn done) <@Brett> [But for now the black guy runs forward, swining his ball and chain at Josh.] <@Brett> ( Uh ) <@Brett> ( Is flexible still a penalty to defense? I forget ) (That ranged or melee?) <@Brett> ( Melee ) ( (-1 penalty to defender per rank of flexable) <@Brett> ( Yah... K, then a -1 penalty to defense ) (Burning 6 ep on the the AoI) 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Josh (2d6+5) and gets a natural 5 for a result of 10. <@Brett> [The good news is Josh avoids the brunt of the attack. The bad news is it still clips his arm. And good grief is it painful.] Augh! <@Brett> [The needle-woman doesn't emerge from behind the pillar, but you can vaguely see she's trying to put herself out.] <@Brett> [Which brings us to Sun, who also has a knife. One that she grips with both hands. It doesn't look like she knows how to use it at all. But she charges at the bald-guy anyhow, knife held out awkwardly in front of her.] (Hey, she's at least a little better at using it thanks to me being here!) <@Brett> [And gets a really good hit, apparently >.>] (Go go Sailor Moon school of clutz fighting?) <@Brett> [She drives the knife into his lower stomach. The man lets out a shriek that almost sounds like a baby cry.] <@Brett> [Sun leaves the knife buried in his gut, stepping back, her hands shaking and covering her mouth.] <@Brett> [Until the purple man hits her in the back of the knee, dropping her to the ground. She screams, grabbing her leg as he moves to swing again.] Shit, shit shit! Sun, get outta there! * Billie thinks to Sun, ~He's going to hit you! Roll!~ <@Brett> [But luckily for her, Tina's come to her senses and stabs at the man with her knife. The bad news is he steps back and avoids it.] <@Brett> [The bald-guy lies on the ground, apparently not dead yet but not able to do much, either. He's effectively out.] <@Brett> [William moves up around the pillar next to the woman with the needles, who just managed to put herself out. He smiles. "Peekaboo, I see you." And then she's on fire again. He pours the flame on ruthlessly, until she's little more than a blackened husk.]] <@Brett> [And then it's Josh's turn!] * Josh really, really, REALLY wishies he could pull out a gun and just shoot the ball and chain guy, but he can't so he settles for "shaking" a pair of knives out of his sleaves, winceing as he has to move his hurt arm. "Let's try that again, yeah?" (Making items is turn. Boo and end.) <@Brett> ["Okay," says the African-American, and swings at Josh again.] * Josh burns MORE EP on dodging this. <@Brett> ( Possible hit! .... because every attack in this game is :X ) 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Josh (2d6+6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 13. <@Brett> [Good for Josh, he isn't made dead.] <@Brett> [Sun's turn next! Though she's not really in any position to do anything. She just holds onto her leg screaming.] * Josh manages to get out of the way. "Man, you suck at this, can't you even hit one gimp?" <@Brett> [Luckily, the purple man seems focused on Tina now! He takes a swing at her, but she's able to step back quickly and avoid it.] <@Brett> [Unluckily, Tina keeps stepping back until she's put a lot of distance between herself and everyone else on the battlefield.] (Hey, she can fly, as long as she doesn't go into the cage.) <@Brett> [Luckily or Unluckily, depending on your point of view, William turns his attention to the guy assaulting Josh. He fires a gout of flame. But the man is apparently more nimble than he looks, because he gets out of the way without much effort.] <@Brett> [Then it's Josh's turn!] * Josh throws the knife in his unhurt hand at the purple guy's back, but he really doesn't expect it to do more than distract the guy. 2d6+4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Josh (2d6+4) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 11. <@Brett> [That may be, but believe it or not it actually scores a hit.] * Josh blinks. "Holy fuck do all of you suck." <@Brett> [The black guy seems to take offense at that, and attacks Josh again!] (6 more EP down the hole) 2d6+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Josh (2d6+5) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 11. (How is your defense line that bad?) (Don't you have at least 5 average stats?) (Could have poor defense disads.) <@Brett> [Josh attempts to avoid! But he's struck in the leg. It's only a glancing blow, but a glancing blow with a heavy object is still pretty painful.] (But yeah, that's really low.) (Because he's used to gun fighting not brawling, he has no melee skills) (Of course he has no melee skills.) <@Brett> [Sun finally starts to get to her feet. She'd be an easy target, but luckily the purple man has decided he wants to kill Josh instead, and runs over swinging his bat.] But your (Also, buffs are fisking expensive) (But your DCV is the average of your stats.) (Yeah, it's not like before where it's Average of stats -2. It's average of stats.) <@Brett> ( And you need another defense roll :P ) (Checks his math... Damnit I never took off the -1 body stat from last event) (All of those were supposed to be one higher) <@Brett> ( >.> ) (If you are adding +2 to your roll, and you have a 3 average, then your numbers are right, otherwise something is very wrong.) (He's got flexable weapon giving me a -1) (Oh, right.) (Anyway. You best dodge!) (Doing this right) (6 more EP for 2d6 + 5 dcv + 2 AoI -1 second defence) 2d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Josh (2d6+6) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 12. (Also met form does have a full set of attack and defense skills) <@Brett> [Josh is lucky, managing to avoid further damage to his shins.] <@Brett> [Tina continues to hang back while William begins to flambe' the purple man. He howls as he catches fire, but he's still up.] <@Brett> [Josh!] * Josh shouts up at Tina. "Hey, back in the fight! There's only two of them left!" (Full defence) <@Brett> [That totally doesn't move Tina at all! Meanwhile Josh is attacked again.] (3 Ep on top of the total) 2d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Josh (2d6+8) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 18. <@Brett> ( Uh, how much has Josh spent so far? I lost track. ) (20) <@Brett> ( K ) (Er 21) <@Brett> [Josh easily avoids, the ball making a dent into the ground.] <@Brett> [Sun gets to her feet, but doesn't look like she's in any condition to fight. And the purple guy screams and burns before falling over.] <@Brett> [Tina waits for William to set the black guy on fire before driving her knife into his spine. I'll bet you guys just love when I end fights early 'cause of time constraints.] (I'm fine with not dieng!) <@Brett> [The announces actually shouts, "Finish them!" even as William goes over to the bald guy, who's still alive, and turns him into a flaming husk.] <@Brett> [The crowd cheers wildly, and the doors to the locker room reopen.] * Josh limps over to Sun. "You good to walk?" <@Brett> [Sun wipes tears from her eyes and nods to Josh. Tina already heads back in, but William pauses to wave to the crowd. He glances over his shoulder and says, "Fun times, eh mate?"] I've done better. No fucking guns in this place. You belive it? (Josh should get some hand crossbows.) <@Brett> ["Heh. 'S why I got these fire powers. So I'm never unarmed."] <@Brett> ( There aren't any. Best you can do is bow and arrows ) <@Brett> [William eventually heads back, followed by Sun, who more or less limps.] Good plan. I gotta go find somebody to glue my arm back together now. Seeya. * Josh limps along with Sun. <@Brett> [Before you go back!] <@Brett> [Points are announced. Tina gets 2200. Sun gets 3600. Josh gets 2800. William gets 6100.]
