[Meanwhile, Billy and Sun are caught between a wall and a river. The only way across is the incredibly long GWB. Now what?] ['What' is sirens start going off from inside the prison.] [Start] * Billie glances back at the prison, startled. (Can we have a little more description? Like where are we located, is there a gate, are there vehicles, guard towers, what?) [You are about 30 feet from the enormous gate, which is flanked by two towers. There are no vechicles in sight.] * Billie turns her attention to the bridge. Is there a section on it designed for walking - like a sidewalk or a shoulder? ~We might need to walk. If sirens are going, the prison's probably in lockdown.~ [Not in this world!] ~Do you think they know where we are?~ * Billie is silent for a moment, then thinks, ~Not... likely. We stuck to the shadows after getting out, and inside... I don't leave tracks when I change forms like that.~ ~So they can't track us. If they haven't seen us and shot us YET, they probably don't know we're even out.~ ~But the sirens...~ ~Doesn't mean they don't know something's going on. Or...~ ~It COULD be the rest of our friends. They're breaking into some sort of genetic testing facility under the prison. That's where I thought you were, at first.~ ~Genetic testing facility?~ ~Yeah. There's a deva from your world down there.~ ~They're trying to free him. Or her.~ [Sun Sighs. ~This is way over my head.~] * Billie smiles a little, behind the helmet. ~Mine, too. If we're going to walk, we better start now.~ She stretches, then pauses. ~Hey, you hungry?~ [Sun nods. ~I haven't had anything to eat since yesterday.~] [~Um... What about the spotlights? If we walk, they'll see us. And there could be cameras.~] * Billie concentrates, and a bowl of curry stir-friend noodles with shrimp and chicken appears in her hand. ~Hey, awesome.~ A fork appears in the other, and she hands them over to Sun. ~Mom used to make this for me when I had a really bad day. You've had a really bad ever.~ ~And yeah, spotlights and cameras... that is tough. I'm thinking.~ ~They probably won't shoot on sight someone that looks like one of them, at least. They might think it's weird, and they might check it out...~ ~I can kill anyone that comes knocking.~ [Sun stares. ~How did...? Oh... right.~ She takes the bowl and tries not to get to messy as she eagely devours them. ~Their security is really tight. They don't...~ She pauses a sec, marvelled by the fact that she's eating and conversing simultaneously. ~It's the most secure place in the world. That we're even outside the gates is amazing!~] ~Score one for us. I just wish I could get us past the river. That I could fly or teleport more than just me...~ * Billie looks at the bridge. ~At full speed MAYBE I could get us across, but I just don't know.~ * Billie thinks for a moment, then: ~I wonder... I wonder if I could just MAKE one of those white vans.~ And she reaches out her hands and concentrates, trying to actually make one. How crazy is that? So crazy! But she's pretty familiar with vans and cars and especially motorcycles. [Sun looks down. ~I wish I could help. I wish I could do... something. Anything.~] [Billie makes a motorcycle.] * Billie blinks, then mentally shrugs. Definitely better than nothing. She pats the motorcycle - it looks a lot like the one she has at home - and turns to Sun. [~They'll be after us, you know. As soon as we get into the light.~] ~Yeah, well. They'll be onto us anyway. We just need to get across and drop into a shadow.~ * Billie hesitates, then adds, ~And Sun, don't feel bad. Like you said, this is the most secure place in the world. The only reason we've gotten this far is I'm like some sort of angel of death these days.~ * Billie summons a bottle of water and hands it to Sun as well. [Sun takes it greatfully. ~Well you've saved my life. I never would have survived for long in there.~] ~Hopefully I can save it long enough to get you to Germany somehow.~ * Billie waits for Sun to finish while she watches the bridge and the gate, thinking. [Sun finishes and hands the bowl and water back. ~Thank you.~] ~Least I could do.~ * Billie dismisses the bowl, silverware, and bottle. ~That slop in the cafeteria's completely gross anyway. You ready to roll?~ [Sun nods. ~As much as I'll ever be.~] ~Right on.~ She gets on her bike and tries the ignition. The moment of truth... * Billie looks to Sun. ~Hop on and hang onto me.~ [Sun does that.] * Billie takes a long breath and lets it go. ~Right. One step at a time.~ She revs the engine and takes off, gaining speed as she guns for the bridge. Once they reach the openly lit bridge, a very large shadow blankets the area around them. [It's no surprise that almost as soon as they start down the bridge, the giant gate opens. Billie finds herself being chased by three motorcycles and two cop cars.] * Billie glances back and mentally shrugs. ~Hang on tight.~ She shifts, switching to her ninja form, and instead of shadow the area turns intensely, completely dark: so much so that headlights can't cut through. (Env. Influence: Darkness) She can still see, however, and starts to drive erratically while still making her way across the bridge. [She has a few minutes before they catch up. The good news is, nobody seems to be sniping.] (Oh, a few minutes? I thought they were on top of us!~) (They're not in the shadow yet, though, right?) ( Nope ) ( But they're gaining quick. ) (Okay, we've got quite a lead, then. Ignore my previous pose.) * Billie glances back and really guns it, pouring on all of the speed she can. (Do I need to make a driving roll?) ( Hmm, yeah, go ahead.] ) 2d6+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Billie (2d6+9) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 16. [Billie manages to keep the distance! For now, at least.] * Billie keeps it up, then. She's going for distance. She's going for speed! 2d6+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Billie (2d6+9) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 13. [Unfortunately, the entourage is catching up.] (I still have a lead?) ( Yah ) * Billie keeps going, then, trying to outrun them. (Let me know once they hit my area of influence.) 2d6+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Billie (2d6+9) and gets a natural 10 for a result of 19. (Ooh, a good roll!) [Billie pulls ahead! She crosses the halfway point of the bridge. But.... ] ( Sight roll! ) 2d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Billie (2d6+8) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 15. [Billie sees what Sun helpfully points out anyway! ~Look!~ At the end of the bridge, police are beginning to form a barricade with squad cars. There's pretty much no way Billie will get there before they finish.] ~Aw, hell no. Where did they all COME from?~ (If they make that barricade, there's zero way to drive through?) [~They must have come from the stations in the city.~] ( To drive through normally, yes. But if Billie is a fancy stuntsperson.... :o ) ~That fast? Shouldn't have taken that dinner break...~ (How difficult would it be, would you say?) (Like the TN?) ( Depends what you want to do about it ) (Hm. Shift to M form, drop the area into blackness, kill anyone who gets too close while skirting on the outside and/or weaving through. Maybe kill a couple of cops while I'm at it.) (Er, minus that last sentence; I didn't realize it was still there after my edit. :D) ( That'll probably be more than 1 TN ) ( In the mean time, make a driving roll against the people behind you ) (Uh, obviously.) 2d6+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Billie (2d6+9) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 15. [Billie maintains her distance!] (The idea is, too, that the darkness will make her pursuers HOPEFULLY crash into the barricade.) (For a mess of epic proportions.) ( It's possible! ) (Yay!) [Billie is about 3/4s the way across the bridge. Still a ways to go yet. The police almost have the barricade set up and are starting to take defensive positions behind their cars.] * Billie grins a little - she can't help it, this entire breakout has been INSANE - and guns for the cars, the shadow still moving with her. ~We're going through. No other way. At least they won't be able to follow at any speed once we're past.~ (So they're at the end of the bridge?) ( The barrier? Yah ) [~Through??~] ~Yeah. I'm gonna shift - you HANG ON - we'll jump the cycle and crash it into them, and hopefully everyone behind us will crash into them, too. Just hang on to my back and I'll carry you.~ ~It'll be dark. You won't see shit. Just warning.~ [Billie reaches the barricade!] * Billie gets as close as she dares before turning into her badass ninja self and plunging the cops' entire world into darkness: and most likely the prison guards behind them, too. A little closer and she jumps her bike, reaching behind to make sure Sun hangs on to her as she leaves the bike to crash into the barricade below and behind them. (What rolls do I have to make?) ( Hmm.... Body + driving, TN... 14 ) 2d6+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Billie (2d6+9) and gets a natural 6 for a result of 15. (Yes!) [Billie jumps the nearest police car, landing on both wheels, and keeps going. Behind her she can hear screams as multiple people crash multiple vehicles. Also Sun's hyperventilating.] * Billie just keeps running off the bridge. FAST. (Oh dude, I kept my bike?) ( Oops ) (I thought I jumped off my bike.) ( I misread. ) (Sokay, it was still cool! Just not what I intended.) [Billie does not keep her bike!] (I wanted to crash my bike too just to make them suffer that little extra.) (Hooray!) [And now looks more like the Flash.] * Billie keeps running - she runs really fast, after all - and not in an exact straight line, either. She keeps an eye out for any sort of likely shelter. [Billie and Sun escape into the city! Nobody is after them for the momment.] (What's the landscape? Are there woods nearby or anything?) (Oh wait, we're in a city! Sweet!) ~We're going to need to find a place to hole up, and we'll also need to get you some new clothes. I can make you a band for as long as I'm here.~ ( she still in meta form? ) (Only as long as she needs to be until she finds an alley or some other place reasonably safe to duck into.) ~I wish I could help. I've never been to this city. I barely speak any English.~ (I assume she can pretty quickly?) ( Yes :P Plenty of allys... allies.... tight spaces in Hoboken. ) ~We were speaking Korean all this time?~ ~Or Japanese? I'm not sure.~aq ~Of course we were!~ ~You didn't know?~ * Billie turns yet another corner and stops in a small, dark alley. She sets Sun down and shifts back into human form: only now, she's wearing a long-sleeved biker jacket and gloves, blue jeans, and boots. A bandanna is tied tightly over her head to hide her pink hair, and she has a Japanese armband. * Billie smiles, a little embarrassed. ~I would have... if it weren't for the fact that everything sounds like English or Japanese to me. So it gets really confusing sometimes.~ [~Wow.~ thinks Sun, who's still wearing an over-sized guard uniform covered in someone else's blood.~ ] * Billie looks Sun over. ~Yeah, DEFINITELY need to get you some new clothes.~ She glances out of the alley, trying to see if there's a closed clothing store or something similar. [There is, conveniently enough. Right next to a hair studio and a Starbucks.] ~Oh sweet, we can get your hair done, too.~ [Sun laughs. ~It's closed though. And they probably wouldn't serve a Korean this close to the prison.~] * Billie snaps her fingers. ~Darn. Just stealing some clothes, then.~ [~Careful, there's probably an alarm.~] * Billie snerks. ~Fortunately, like the entire police force was on that bridge. But I'll watch out for one. You stay behind the dumpster, okay? Shouldn't be long.~ ' (That was Pippin.) [Sun nods and takes cover behind the dumpster.] ( Tell him I said ; ) (Did so!) (He says media tower.) (Pippin's got quite the vocabulary.) (It's true.) (He even knows emoticons!) * Billie cracks her knuckles, then her neck... then shifts into M form yet again and disappears in a wisp of smoke - reappearing inside the clothing store. ( Stealth roll! ) 2d6+13 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Billie (2d6+13) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 22. (I got stealth!) [Billie spots a camera, but is able to avoid it easily enough.] * Billie moves quickly, trying to find some plain clothes in Sun's size: a shirt and a pair of pants, as well as some socks and shoes. Once that's done, she teleports right back and shifts out of M form, clothes in hand. [Billie finds them easily. I mean it's a clothing store.] * Billie breathes heavily once she returns. ~Here you go. This... is taking a lot out of me.~ She flicks her hand and forms a pair of scissors. ~I'll get the tags off this stuff. You go ahead and toss that nasty uniform in the dumpster.~ [Sun does so. She doesn't look happy about standing around in her underwear, but decides it's better than wearing the blood of a dead man for any longer.] * Billie hands over the pants, then the shirt, then the socks and shoes as Sun puts them on. ~Here you go. Real clothes, for once.~ She grins. [Sun gets dressed hurriedly. ~Thanks. I never asked, why are you doing this?~] * Billie makes the scissors disappear and leans against the alley wall. ~Because I like you. You're kinda like the little sister I never had.~ She looks up at the sky, or what she can see of it. ~And this world is fucking unfair.~ * Billie forms a band, appropriate for non-Japanese Asians, and holds it out for Sun. [Sun takes it. ~It's hard to imagine a world any different.~] [~Still, I never thought an actual angel would answer my prayers.~] * Billie sighs. ~I just wish I could do more. No idea how to get you to Germany...~ She closes her eyes. ~For now, we're going to have to find a safe place to sleep. And wait.~ [Sun nods. ~I feel so useless.~] ~You're not useless, Sun. You helped me a lot while I was in there.~ [She blinks. ~But I didn't do anything.~] ~Nah, you explained all sorts of things: how the prison works... how the WORLD works. You have to understand, where I come from... it might be the same year, but a lot of very crucial things are completely different.~ [Sun nods. ~But here, in this city, I can't help at all. I'm as lost as you.~] ~Well, as I see it, we've got a few options.~ ~We leave the city and maybe hide in the woods. We find an abandoned location in the city. Or we just get a cheap hotel room or something.~ * Billie frowns a little. ~I'm not sure how easy it is to do that if I'm Japanese and you're Korean, though.~ [~I don't think a hotel would work. They're looking for us. And, don't take this thw wrong way, but your hair's an unusual color.~] ~Yeah, that's why I've got this on.~ * Billie tugs at her bandanna. ~As well as alla this clothes that helps hide my tats. But I hear ya.~ * Billie thinks for a while, then admits, ~Out of the city's probably safest, unless we find a really good spot while we drive out.~ And she concentrates, summoning another motorcycle. [A motorcycle appears. Sun nods. ~Yeah... Um... Do you have anything else to eat? I'm feeling really hungry again.~] * Billie can't fight a small chuckle. ~Sure, why not.~ She concentrates and a plate of assorted nigiri appears in one hand. She blinks at it, then hands it over to Sun. ~I used to work in a Japanese restaurant; I guess it's the first thing that came to mind.~ A cup of hot tea appears in the other. [Sun takes it eagerly. ~I'm so hungry I'll eat anything.~] ~I guess the adrenaline must be wearing off.~ * Billie hands over the tea once Sun is ready, and she keeps a look out while the girl eats. [Sun devours the food just as much as before.] * Billie asks, ~Need more?~ once Sun finishes. [~I think.... I think it's not working.~] * Billie blinks. ~Not... working?~ She frowns, then: ~Damn, you think that maybe what I summon disappears as soon as you *eat* it?~ [Sun nods. ~Sorry. But I still feel so hungry.~] * Billie reaches over and squeezes Sun's shoulder. ~It's okay. We'll get you food. You've still got the money we took, right?~ * Billie dismisses the empty plates/cups. [Sun nods. ~Maybe there's a vending machine around here. Do they have those in America?~] [Time is about 9:00 p.m.] * Billie grins. ~They do in my world. Definitely do in rest stops, outside of the city. Let's find one.~ She gets on her motorcycle and waves for Sun to get on. [Sun gets on and the session ends]
