] The place: Deimos Station, in orbit around Unnamed planet #4, Generically named System. Not that any of you know this. ] Because you're all just waking up, from these funny cylindrical tubes, that exhale cold air and hiss and slide open vertically. (We've been cryogenically frozen! @_@) (Nope, just in tubes with AC ) (Do I need that, when I have *SPOILER* taking care of me? ;p) (Wee! Wait, is Maria the oldest one here? <.<) (Hahaha!) (Yes, she is. Bwahaha!) (The rest of us are all high-schoolers. So, yes. ;p) ] There's serial numbers on moniters above the six tubes in this room. They show nifgty things like vitals and stuff. ( Haw. Maria'll fit in, tho. She looks like a high-schooler. ) ] And all the equipment and clothes 'n stuff you have on your sheets is on the table over in the corner. None of you have anything more than skivvies and tank tops on. ] Start. (Jex, your brackets leave much to be desired.) (Skivvies?) ( breifs. ) * Daegal rolls his head groggily. "Aww, geez, did anyone get the license plate number of that... hey, where the fuck are my pants?!" (... Um, Jex? You mean I have a *plane* over on the table?) ( Err. No big mecha type things, no. ) ( You had it disguised as a box! ;_; ) * Maria blinks. Why is she so cold? And why is she naked? (Briefs? Be a little more specific. If Katie doesn't have a shirt or something on, she's gonna scream.) (... Can I scream?) * Eric shakes his head. "Oi... What the hell... Eh... where's my pants?!" ( shorts. ) * Haruko sits up and rubs her head. She's looks like Japanese a high school senior with black hair and blue highlights. Down the side of her face and at a few other points on her body there are small grease burn marks. * Satoshi wakes up. "Uh... what happened." He then notices he's wearing no pants and blushes *furiously*. "Erk..." * Haruko looks around for a moment "Where am I... Oh.. it's one of those high tech dreams." She stares at a monitor. ( White shorts that reach halfway down the upper legs, and go about an inch above the waist. And tank tops are tank tops. ) * Maria looks around, finds her stuff, and dashes over to put it on. She's very attractive and quite well-endowed, so if any guys take notice of this (sneak check?) they get quite a show. (Oh. ... Do we all understand each other?) * Daegal blinks, and opens his tube after a bit of experimentation. "Eric? That you? What the fuck happened to our pants? What kinda villian takes away peoples' pants?!" ] You don't have any trouble understanding each other, too. Oddly enough, or not oddly enough. A very *sick* one. I say we kick his ass later, eh? ] Maria: Go fer it. ... I'm more of a briefs person anyways. Okay. I can handle being transported to another world by now. But never before has it involved losing my clothes! 2d6-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-6) and gets 3. * Haruko gets up and starts examining the technology. "Huh, cyro tubes, didn't think those were supposed to really work. Probably a mock up." * Katie opens her eyes, slowly. "So much noise. Keep it down." She shivers, then blinks. "What the hell!" ( That makes it by a lot. ^^ ) Katie? Haruko? * Satoshi does not look in the direction that their voices are coming from. * Katie falls out of her tube. "Ow. Shit!" She gets to her knees and looks around. "Satoshi?" Yeah, it's me. Lacking clothes. *blushes again* * Daegal doesn't notice Maria, so pre-occupied is he with his lack of pants- related-outrage. "Oh, someone's gonna get a Red Hook-style asswhuppin' fer this..." Well... ] Maria is Really Damned Sneaky as she sneakily sneaks by everyone the the Stuff. Unless you really wanna do an opposed awareness check. * Katie looks down. * Haruko waves absently and keeps talking to herself in a quieter voice. "Alright, tech dream with Katie and Satoshi. That's sorta weird. Now, what do I get to take apart this time." You're not the only one. (Sure! ;P) * Eric comes out of the tube, and notices stuff on the table. Hell, he might notice Maria, too. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6) and gets 3. 2d6-8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6-8) and gets 2. (And That makes it by 5.) (Made by five.) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Daegal (2d6-2) and gets 5. ( Missed by 1. =P ) * Haruko doesn't seem to have noticed what she's wearing. She's quite cute but not particularly well endowed or alluring. * Satoshi keeps his eyes averted from the direction of the girls. ( ...and I made it by five, too. Damn both of you anyway. And especially damn you, Dicesuke. ) (I LOVE YOU, MARIA.) ] Maria's 5 takes precedent over everyone elses 5 because she rolled first. Nya. =p (Not paying attention to Maria at all, so not rolling here ) (Katie rolled a 10, Maria.) (Yes. Yes, I did.) (Usually, the person with the biggest bonus wins in a tie.) * Daegal blinks, notices the others (aside from Maria), notices two girls among their number, and quickly averts his eyes. "Looks like we got company too, Eric. Hello, guy and two girls who I'm not gonna look at right now 'cause I ain't no perv." * Eric walks over to his stuff, and OOC is *very* glad clothing is part of his gear. He puts it on. ^_^ Wah? * Katie gets to her feet. "At least I'm not topless," she comments quietly. She's a pretty girl, a little over five feet tall, with shoulder-length, brunette hair and gray eyes. She has slightly Japanese features. * Eric looks around a little groggily, then averts his eyes. "Gah!" * Haruko keeps checking around and tries to find a panel somewhere to pull out. * Haruko is the same height as Katie. :P Um... anybody see clothes for a guy that aren't yours? ( Eric> You just wanna see Maria naked. Perv. ) * Katie blinks, then seems to notice the other guys for the first time. "Oh, hi." She wanders over to the table. * Maria is dressed by now. She's fast like that. Gah. Cold. Where the hell is this? ] Haruko: There's various plastic/metal panels in the room. Most of them will come off pretty easy, by the looks of it. Okay, look. I'm not butt naked. I'm not topless, or anything, and unless Haruko has a problem with people seeing her... do you, Haruko? * Satoshi is a Japanese guy, about 5'9", athletically built, with chin-length straight black hair and a crooked nose. When he opens his mouth to speak, you can see that his left second tooth is missing. * Daegal averts his eyes from the table as Katie heads for it. "s'true, but Ms. Redd raised her son ta be a gentleman, and I'm damn well gonna be a gentleman." Yeah. Does anybody know what's going on? Seen Jin anywhere? ... a foul-mouthed gentleman, admittedly, but... *grins at Eric* * Katie walks over to the table and sifts through its contents for her clothes and satchel. She blinks at Maria. "Hello." I'm not looking around until you all have clothes on. * Eric checks his clothing. He's a young adult, about 17 years old and 5'5" tall. Fairly skinny, he has dark-blonde hair and blue eyes, and is clearly Canadian from his accent. "Eh, of course." ~_^ * Haruko tries to tug at the side of the monitors. "Hmm? People seeing me? Why should I mind, it's my dream. No way this place is real, Arcana don't have this level of technology." Okay. In that case, next time you have a dream, don't take me along. ] The monitor slides on out smoothly, then catches on something inside to keep it from falling. There's lotsa buttons and wiring access and such. * Maria is a fairly short, but very cute Japanese-looking girl. She wears grungy clothes, her baggy patched-up leather jacket concealing most of her figure, but her tight patched-up jeans revealing athletic, chapely legs. She eyes you all. ( Chapley legs? I didn't know Maria wore chaps. Kinky! ) * Haruko concentrates for a moment. "Alright, you're dismissed Katie." She then starts fiddling with the buttons and wiring access, trying to figure out the system. * Satoshi has not moved yet, and seems to be staring at the floor. Interesting floor. ;p ] Kate's not dismissed. Ineresting that. Hey, anyone need some clothes? It might be a little small, but it's better than tank tops. (I'm not?) ( Kat*i*e. Grr. ) (Are extra clothes on the table?) * Katie gets dressed, pulling on jeans, a cream-colored t-shirt with button collar, and sneakers. As she puts her watch on, she comments, "Work harder on your dismissal. I don't think you got it." You see my pants'n shoes there, Eric? And... *blinks; pats chest* my badge? ( *kills the typo demon* ) ] Assuming everyone picks up their stuff, there's nothing left on the table. * Eric checks for it. Is other's clothing there? ] Haruko, mind roll, electronics shtuff! * Maria holds up a police badge. "Oh, this is yours? Damn." She flips it at Daegal. * Haruko makes a vaguely Shintoish gesture at Katie. "Begone illusion." She doesn't actually look for any results. (Jex: What specialty?) * Katie rolls her eyes. She shoulders her satchel, walks over, and lightly thwaps Haruko on the back of the head. * Eric takes the sportsbag his stuff was in and checks it to make sure everything's there. ( Consumer electronics. ) [Haruko's stuff is still on the table, if no one stole it] * Daegal notices Katie is now dressed, and goes to look for it himself. He finds it! He catches the badge from Maria as he's slipping on his pants. "Dad's, technically. More a freelancer myself." 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6-2) and gets 9. (Missed by three) (Is all my stuff still in there Jex?) ] The monitor is too advanced for you to figure out. Or something. You don't recognize much of it. ( Yeah. ) * Daegal finishes putting his pants on, puts the badge (which is on a chain) around his neck, then blinks at Maria. "... didn't notice you before. You sneaky or somethin'?" * Haruko keeps poking. "Not now Katie, you're probably just a manifestation of someone trying to wake me up in the real world. This thing is advanced, wanna play in what time I have left." * Satoshi calls out from the tube. "Um... are all you guys decent?" Maybe. Don't think I'll comment much more until I see how far that badge gets you wherever we are. * Eric walks over to Haruko and throws her clothing at her. "Electronics are fun and all, but put some clothin' on first, eh?" Yes, Satoshi, we're decent! Get your clothes already. Good. * Satoshi hurries over to the table and grabs his clothes. Black LA Kings jersey, black jeans, sneakers. He puts them on quickly, then looks for his bag and his cell phone. * Katie blinks at Eric. "Canada?" The one and only great white nort, eh. ^_^ * Haruko scratches her head. "Unless this isn't a dream..." She then looks down, blushes profusely and hurries to put on her coveralls. * Katie grins. "Hey, haven't talked to anyone from North America in a while. Cool." Well, besides my parents, but they don't really count. * Satoshi pulls his hockey stick out of his sports bag. Funny, it doesn't seem like it should fit in there. "Oh, good, it's still here." He grabs his cell phone and tucks it in his pocket. Of course they don't. Now that we're in a alien space craft and everything, eh... Who are ya all? * Katie shakes her head. "Right." Besides Daegal, 'cuz I can't miss'em from a mile away. ~_^ I'm Katie Andrews. * Haruko walks over to the table to grab her backpack, assuming it's still there. * Satoshi blinks. "Alien spacecraft?" ( Man, ya'all act like waking up in a unknown techy place is an everday happening. ) * Daegal is now dressed! He's about 6' tall and decently muscled. It's tough to tell his age, as he could be anywhere from his teens to his twenties based on looks. He looks vaguely Eastern-European, with a somewhat tanned complexion, unruly curls of short back hair, and piercing metallic blue eyes. He's wearing a tank top and track pants, and he's got various scars all across his visible skin. * Katie points over at Haruko. "That's Haruko Kinsha, and over there-" She points. "Is Satoshi Watanabe. You guys are?" * Maria goes about looking for a way out. * Satoshi stuffs his stick back in his sports bag. "Satoshi- uh, what she said." * Eric looks decidedly younger than he really is, actually. ^^; ] There's a door! Eric Vallejo. Nice to me-... Hey, ya like Hockey too? ^_^ ] The door, like the rest of the room, looks pretty sturdy, made of some plastic/steel looking material. * Haruko waves distractedly and talks to herself. "So.. this isn't a dream? Maybe Jin got better taste. Although I'm going to have to speak to him about modesty." * Satoshi looks at Eric. "Um, yeah! I'm captain of my school's team!" I have no idea where this could be, or even if it could relate to... anything. 'm Daegal Redd. Nice ta meetcha all... * Katie blinks. "Hm." She nods distractedly at Daegal. "Nice to meet you, too." And then walks over to Maria. * Eric looks over Satoshi. "Should play in Canada sometime. Could use ya." ^_^ * Haruko then turns to bow to the two guys. "Pleasure to meet you. Lucky for me you both speak Japanese." * Maria tries to open the door. And get away from these strange people! Hey, I'm hoping to make it to North America and play college level, maybe even pro someday. Come to think of it, I've been speaking English this entire time. * Katie taps Maria on the shoulder. Though she might have seen/heard her coming, since she wasn't trying to be sneaky about it. ... I do? I mean, yeah, I learned a bit from sensei, but I mostly speak English. Well, New Yawk english/ English here, too. Unless ya want me ta pull out French, but that just gets ugly, eh. Yes? ] The door beeps, and a Generic Female Computer Device speaks, 'Hostile still present outside. Please enter safety override security level B to open door.' * Satoshi blinks. "Um. I know English, yeah, but I thought I was speaking Japanese." * Haruko tilts her head. "Ooh... Universal translators. Or at least ones that can do earth languages. Maybe we're in the future... er.. the present but a later year." * Katie smiles pleasantly. "Who are you?" And then she pauses. "Hostile?" ( AH! Maria used the Soun Tendo Demon Head Technique! ) * Haruko checks through her bag and makes sure everything is there. * Satoshi looks at Haruko. "It makes sense... I just want to know why we're here." Hostile... That ain't good, eh. No, I don't think it is. Hostile? Nice. Any of you guys fight? 'Cause I'm opening this door anyway, unless there's another way out. * Maria clances around for air ducts she can fit through. Hey, Daegal. * Haruko shakes her head. "I can swing a wrench, but that's about it." * Katie looks confused. "No, that doesn't make sense." ... ain't surprisin'. Anyone who's gonna knock us out and stick us in those overgrown refridgerators... n'take out pants to boot... cam't be too nice about where they put us. ] There dosen't look to be any other exits. Or even any other seams. The rest of the way is seamless. * Eric walks over to Daegal and speaks softly. "Think we should pull out the big guns?" Fight? If it came to that, yeah, but do we have to? Let's not. * Daegal grins. "Yeah, I can fight." ( Err. The rest of the wall. ) * Katie doesn't react to Eric's speaking. She folds her arms, troubled. "And that girl still didn't tell me her name." * Daegal blinks at Eric, then shrugs. "Not 'less we need ta, I suppose. But if we do, no point in hesitatin'." * Eric nods. * Haruko glances around a bit. "Huh.. no access tubes. That's unfortunate. I thought these futuristic places were supposed to have access tubes everywhere." She goes back to poking at the monitors, seeing if she can figure out anything about their location or perhaps get another feed. * Eric starts checking into the hardware. "Hey, this is some pretty fancy stuff. Reminds me of the Danger Room back home." (Danger Room? What are you guys, the X-Men? ;p) ( which'un? ) (Shall I say it? ^^) Well, if there's anythin' nasty out there, I can prolly hold it back until we can get the door closed... ( Haruko: Which monitor? ) ( Yes, actually, they are. ;P ) * Haruko looks over to Eric as she pokes. "Danger room... that some sort of high tech training room? I've been thinking of trying to set one of those up, but don't really have the resourcecs." (Well, we've just been informed that we aren't the X-Men. At least, in session 81. ;p) (Oh.. uh) (Should I make an electronics roll?) I'll try and make most've the feed go to that monitor. That should letcha access everythin'. * Satoshi pulls out his hockey stick again. "Um. Are we going to try and open the doors or not? If you want, I could probably get them open, though you might have some trouble closing them once I'm done." ( Eric: Which hardware? The tubes, the monitors, the gear, or the door? ) (Jex: Same one as last time) d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jex (d6) and gets 3. * Maria blinks. "Eh? Oh. Call me Maria." (Gear?) And if we want to open the doors, I can do it on my own, but thanks. I'm nervous about going out where there's a 'hostile', but we might- okay, Maria. ( Personal gear/items. ) * Daegal nods at Satoshi. "Ah, another practitioner of the Less-Than-Subtle school'a door openin'." (Oh. Monitors.) Ya want a door blown open, I can do that. Just give me 'bout 20 meters of elbow room. * Satoshi looks sheepishly at Daegal. "Only when there isn't another option. Most of the time, there is one." * Maria rolls her eyes. "Men," she mutters. "I can open the door without breaking it. Just in case we want to close it again." ] The monitor Haruko is messing with changes from vitals to some text, lotsa numbers attached to obscured to vague terms like WIS and CON. ( grr. knock out that 'to obscured'. ) (*snerk*) (Heh.) ] Same for Eric. * Haruko gestures to summon Katie. "I'm not getting this terminology, might be something medical." * Daegal tilts his head at Maria. "Yeah, but what's the fun'n that?" ( Hee. ) * Katie tilts her head, then walks over to have a look. If we can open the door without breaking it, then I think we should. (Jex: What do I need to roll to recognize it?) * Maria smirks. "You've obviously never tried, if you have to ask." ( Must smash! *roll eyes*) * Daegal looks over at the moniters, and blinks. "... WIS, CON... where've I seen that before?" ( I have an IC reason for knowing this! HAHA! ) * Haruko glances over at the door. "I have some lockpicks if it would help." ("...it's like we're RPG characters!" "Don't be ridiculous.") * Eric scratches his head. "Sounds like... That geek RPG thing." ( * checks sheet. Katie: No skillz you have, just mind. ) (And hee. Someone offering Maria lockpicks. ^_~) ( She don't know. :P ) (Aww, not even cultural arts? Jerk! ;P) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6) and gets 8. (Missed by one.) Yeah, D&D. s'some of the stats the characters use... Wisdom and... what was it? Constitution? Yup. So, why'd someone look at us like character in an RPG? Eh? s'a good question, Eric. And such a good question deserves a damn good answer. ... which I ain't got. ] There's a lot more than WIS and CON. Theres a list of 20 or so different terms. Also ETH and MAN, VIT..... ( Ethanness! ) I suppose you *could* use Dungeons and Dragons as a way of measuring physical and mental prowress, but I'd hope there's better ways. (Yes. It's called BESM. ;p) ( All characters are rated on their ETHanness! ) (*smacks Daegal*) Me too. I'm a real person, not some game character. * Katie smiles bitterly. "I'm sure the Powers that Be would disagree. So, are these us?" She looks for their names. * Haruko looks for her stats. "Wonder how they test these sorts of things." ] There's no names to go with the stat scores. Just a really long serial number. Yeah. *looks up his* Hey, look. Are we leaving here or not? ] And there's a *shink* sound from the other side of the door, followed by a dull thud. * Eric nods. "Let's get movin'..." That doesn't sound good. * Eric eyes the door as his hands start glowing green. "Someone open the door." Oohh.. Maybe this is some sort of elaborate simulation. And we're not really here but are in some sort of game meant to test our abilities. Although itd still be future technology. And it sure feels real. * Satoshi looks at Eric and blinks. * Eric smirks. "Eh? Never saw a mutant before?" I think it's prolly safer t'assume that anything large'n slobbery out there can really hurt us. Mutant? No, I was wondering if you were... never mind. * Maria blinks. * Katie looks over at the door. "That's pleasant. Quiet, please." Open it? Okay, fine. ] There's another dull bang on the door. (Because everyone who manifests strange powers is obviously an Arcana!) * Katie reaches into her satchel and pulls out a pair of something that looks like hearing aids. She puts them in her ears and listens. * Haruko quiets up and gets out her wrench. * Maria stands to one side to the door, and fiddles with the control pannel. Does she need a roll, GM? * Satoshi holds his stick in both hands and faces the door. (DUH. Winston must have been wrong when he said he was the only one who wasn't Japanese or part-Japanese.) (One of these guys must be the french one. :P ) (French Canadian, sure. ^_~) (Eric!) ] Maria! Electronics/Security roll! (And Daegal's the Russian one!) (Wow, this fits.) (It does. This is scary.) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-4) and gets 3. ( That's a yes. ) ( They can't be Arcana; they're not Japanese. ) * Katie cocks her head, listening intently. "If it's Saki..." (See what we just said, though. ^_~) If it's her, she's hungry. Saki? I *hope* not. Who? * Maria opens the door! I think. ] The door unlatches! * Eric holds an action to blow something up on the other side of the door if need be. Saki? That bi-- nice lady who holds great sway over my job? * Katie blinks. "Your job?" Job? * Haruko shakes her head. "Different Saki I'm betting." Yeah, has to be. ] And on the other side of the door, is a 4 foor tall thing. It's got long, spiky metal arms for arms, a metal-looking spherical ball for a head, and a metallic looking cylinder for a body. And similar looking feet, but they're not directly phsyically attached to the rest of the body. ... Okay. Not Saki. That's... different. What, yours doesn't suck the joy out of... holy wow. ] There's something that could be likely be blood on both arms. ( Good thing it didn't have long, spiky metal legs for arms... ) * Haruko boogles. "Oooh, is that a robot? Cool!" * Katie focuses on that. "Shit. Get away from that thing, Maria!" * Maria leaps away from the door. AWAY. It's not a good robot, Haruko! * Katie winces at the sound of her own voice. ... ... robot. Cool. Bloody robot... not cool. *falls back into a loose fighting stance* ] One free shot each! then it's init. * Katie backs away, reaching into her satchel. (Pfft. I'm not doing anything.) * Haruko nods and stares at the thing, trying to discern any weak spots. (Weeeheee! Splodey!) * Daegal steps aside. "Eric? You wanna?" Don't I always? * Eric puts his hands forward, a pulsating blue beam of charged particles streaming from his outstretched hands straight at the center of the robot. Damn skippy. ] It dosen't seem to have any weak spots... or even joints. It looks like it's floating together, and each individual part looks pretty solid. 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6-5) and gets 2. (Blastinated!) ( Hmm... Free shot; must be a slow moving robot. ) ( Maybe it's sleeping. ) ( But it's out in the open. And if it's sleeping in the open, it must be... Oh boy, you're makign a mistake! :P ) (It's a GRUE.) ] And it kinda collapses into individual parts as the beam hits it. (It's wasting it's turn saying. "Danger! Danger Me!" Next turn it'll recognize the danger and act. ) * Satoshi blinks. "Um. That worked." ... Okay. That could be the hostile. ] Which starts fading to etherealness almost immediately. * Katie looks at Eric. "Arcana?" * Eric relaxes. "Ar-what?" ( You get 12 exp and a smiley face. ^___^ ) * Haruko rushes up to try to get to a part. "Damn.. I wanted to see how it did that." Yup. No bloody robot is a match for... SPLODEY THE SPORKMASTER! Are you an Arcana? You- damnit! Stop that or I'll 'splode you! * Satoshi looks at Katie. "I was wondering that, too." * Daegal poses dramatically behind Eric. * Katie clutches her ears. "Not so fucking loud. Shit." Let me try something. * Eric jumps on and smacks Daegal in the head. * Haruko looks at the floor with a disappointed expression. "You really should let me adjust those Katie." ] Now that the hostile went poof, you can see into the hall beyond. It looks Quite Messed Up. Burn marks and stuff trashed, and other open rooms, an occasional body halfway throurh the door. * Satoshi looks at Eric and concentrates. * Daegal blinks, then grins sheepishly. "Sorry." *whispers* "Splodey the Sporkmast- ow." Hey, nice job, splodey. * Satoshi blinks. "Hey, Haruko?" * Katie removes her hands from her ears. "He yelled so loud, I don't think it would have mattered. My ears are still ringing." * Haruko looks around. "I'm thinking this robot wasn't friends with whoever brought us here." * Eric elbows Daegal in the ribs. "Let's get movin', eh?" * Katie glances at Satoshi and Haruko, then walks over to the doorway, looking out. ( You better hope not, considering what you just did to it ^^ ) * Daegal looks out into the hallway. "Damn. Looks like a bad nigth in Red Hook... wait. Too few bodies for a bad night. Maybe just a below-average night." Haruko, let me know if you can hear me in a second. * Maria walks out into the hall. Don't be bothered by the fact that she's standing on the cieling as she does so. She looks around at the scenery. * Haruko walks out into the hallway and then gasps and quickly verifies that none of the bodies miraculously are alive. Nah, this looks good. ] Nope. All dead. Most of them impaled in the general chest area. * Satoshi sighs. "Or maybe not." * Daegal steps out into the hall and shakes his head. "That thing sure did a number on this place." * Eric frowns. "So, think the Impailer had a fun time here?" ...uech. * Satoshi gets to the hallway and looks out, then pales. "What happened out there?" ] Most of them look human. A couple not. There seems to be two main groups. One who are all uniformed, and the others who aren't. * Brett has quit IRC (Quit: Nachos are evil ) Shit, what a mess. ] The ones with uniforms all have patches on their shoulder that read 'Deimos Station.' * Haruko starts exploring around the hall. "These poor people, well, people and.. aliens I guess." * Katie looks mildly ill. "Yeah. Let's... see if there's some way out of this deathtrap." Or mutants. * Katie walks out, cautiously. ... Deimos Station. That sound familiar t'anyone? Not me. It sounds like something out of a bad science fiction novel. Eh? 'The Most station'? Not t'me. But you knew that, already. * Satoshi shakes his head. "Doesn't mean anything to me, either." Station.. based on these guys, I'm thinking space station. ] The hallway, besides having bodies, has other doors. The one across the hall from the one you exit by has an identical looking room, except the tubes are all closed, and shattered, the beings within obviously impaled. ... and it looks like the people in those rooms didn't have their door locked. Shit. Well. I guess we woke up just in time to avoid a painless death while we slept. * Satoshi pales. "This... isn't good." That or the thing got through eventually. And no, it's not. So let's find a way out already. Dude, it's downright creepy. And nasty t'boot. * Katie swallows. "I'd say." * Eric frowns. "We can't stay here, though. Let's get movin'." ] There's about 5 or 6 doors on either side of the hallway, in either direction. All open. The left leads to a dead end, the right dosen't. Okay. There has to be a map somewhere around here. Kaede... would be really helpful right now, but I'm pretty glad he's not around. Hey, you with the ear things. Whatchername? * Haruko nods. "I'm thinking these robots are programmed to go for the chest. That's potentially a weakness if we could find some armor. They might not be smart enough to go for other vital areas." I don't think he'd be taking it very well. * Katie doesn't look to Maria, still glancing around. "Katie. Why?" * Haruko nods at Satoshi. "Check." Well, at least they stab, not slash. Small favors'n stuff. Just wanna know. Which way's quieter, Katie? I'm trying to find out. * Satoshi quiets down. * Katie tilts her head. "I don't hear anything coming. Let's go the way that isn't a dead end. Slowly, so I have warning." * Eric idly creates a ball of plasma and throws it up and down. "So, where are ya'all from?" Iowa, Japan. Tokyo, yeah. * Maria nods. "I'll be quiet, then." And she heads that way, along the cieling, very quietly. * Eric hmms? The ball vanishes when he catches it. * Haruko gets slowly moving and rests her wrench on her shoulder. She speaks softly "Tokyo, Japan. And earth, circa 2002." * Katie watches Maria go and raises an eyebrow. She heads after her. * Satoshi follows whoever, keeping his stick at the ready. ] Maria sees everything upside down! 2002? ... do the Jets win the Super Bowl sometime before then? * Maria sneaks along, looking and listening for stabbity robotic death. Toronto, New York. * Eric follows! He don't got no weapons, but then again, he don't need'em! * Haruko looks at the where the ball was and speaks softly. "Dunno, huh, what was that, magic or technology? * Katie blinks at Daegal. "You mean you don't know?" ] And as you pass by the various doors, you see the same scene as the previous room. Blood and gore and impalements. * Eric shrugs. "Just do it." Back where I'm from, it's still in the mid 1990's. No, not Nike. * Maria tries not to look at the gore. Yeah. (I love Arcana weaponry. Two wrenches, a metal hockey stick, and a can of mace.) * Katie looks over the scene, but she doesn't quite seem to register it. "There has to be a terminal somewhere around here. And I suppose that's not a big surprise, if we were cryogenically frozen, or something." * Haruko looks a bit pale and seems to be actively focusing on the technology as she goes, trying to keep her mind off the gore. (Don't mess with the mace.) (Or the stick, it's a good stick. ^_^ ) (Hey, Kyon's got an actual foil.) (It's a very good stick.) * Daegal frowns at the gore occasionally, but doesn't seem too bothered by it. * Eric definetly frowns at gore. He don't look too good, but he's keeping his lunch in. ] Opposite the end of the hall, there's a nice big map! The 'You Are Here' marker says you're in the growth labs, D wing. Of A-F wings. And I'm really hopin' my Jets aren't doomed ta suck for the next decade. Sorry, I don't follow football. Or is that baseball? I just follow hockey. 'Growth labs'. Oh, THAT sounds reassuring. * Satoshi seems to be trying to keep his mind off all the messiness. ] There's a kitchen/hydroponics, propulsion, bridge, ship bay also mentioned on the map. Oh. How do the Maples end up, then? We must have been picked up by someone with superior technology. Unless any of those conspiracy theories are true, no one in 2002 had good cryogenic technology. And I don't seem to be any older. Jets're football. Mets're my baseball team, Knicks fer basketball. Never really got inta hockey. ... which is odd, 'cause my pop was from Russia. * Haruko looks at the map and says quietly but emphatically. "I want to see propulsion! Hiroji would never forgive me if I didn't check it out." Um... the Leafs aren't gonna win the Cup any time soon. Sorry. But the Rangers'll win in 1994. * Eric frowns. "Eh... Oh well. At least I can always do some Curling, eh?" * Daegal grins. "Well, a coupla my friends'll be happy 'bout that." * Katie says, distractedly, "Sorry, Daegal, but the Jets haven't won in the past eight or whatever years. Won't win. Whatever." We see propulsion only if we need to. I think not getting stabbed is more important. ] As Haruko says that, a voice intones, 'Elevators inactive; Recommend alternate route?' Yes! * Haruko nods. "Yes please computer-sama." I'd like to avoid getting stabbed too. ... shoulda expected that. They're the Jets, after all. * Daegal shakes his fist at the heavens. ] The map shows a red line, from 'Here' to 'Propulsion.' Then it changes, after Satoshis comments, as 3 flashy red dots pop up. Um. What's it doing? And I have no idea what you guys are talking about. But wow, what a helpful map. Three more stabbers. * Haruko nods. "Is there an armoury computer? ] Two of them are in Propulsion, and one is in Bridge. The helpful lines turns green, and ends near Propulsion. What'cha think this is? Star Trek? * Katie snorts. "If it is, let's blow up the warp core and get it over with." And I want my tribbles. ] 'Hostiles detected at desired location.' Then, 'No armory is aboard this station.' You want your huh? * Satoshi blinks. "What? No, you're not takin' a tribble back to Earth. <.< Computer, please recommend an escape ship or the location of nonhostile forces. * Katie smiles faintly. "But it'd be cute." She peers at the map, and the smile turns into a frown. * Eric smirks. "Until it reproduced." ] 'Tribbles are located in Hydroponics.' 'All ships are located in Ship Bay. One nonhostile detected in Ship Bay.' ... Dear god, we ARE in Star Trek! ... oh, you gotta be fuckin' kidding me. * Katie blinks, then cracks up. Okay. We've got blasto-boy here, so no need for weapons. Eh, this just gets better by the minute, eh? * Katie gasps. "What a cosmic joke." * Haruko grins. "Thank you computer! Please recommend a safe route." ( Bah. Trek wouldn't have a 'propulsion' section, it'd have 'engineering'. ;) ) * Satoshi blinks. "What's Star Trek?" I'll show you when we get home. If we get home. Some American show. The guys talk about it sometime. There's a non-hostile in ship bay? Might be one'a the crew, could tell us what the hell's going on. When. And I'll take you up on that offer. ] The map shows a line from 'Here' to 'Ship Bay'. But then another red flashy dot pops up in near Ship Bay. Let's get there fast! * Haruko nods. "Could you give us a situational briefing computer or is that beyond your capacity?" Sounds like a plan. Okay. We have to stop that thing from killing him. ] 'General status: Compromised.' Eh, that's the idea. Then we should get going. * Maria looks at the direction indicated on the map again, and starts headed for the ship bay. Stealthy like ninja! * Katie glances over the map, putting the safe path to memory, and waves for them to follow her. She starts jogging thataway. "Hope you're all in shape." * Haruko gets jogging down the hallway. "Alright. Oh, what earth year is it computer?" * Satoshi runs after Katie. ] 'Year is galactic standard 885b.' * Eric follows~! Gee, that's helpful. * Daegal jogs after the others, trying to work his way towards the front. Oh, that's useful. Someone ask a question with a frame of reference. Like, how many years has it been since 2000 ad? ] The map's not moving with you. Sticking around and asking questions, or not? (Since I started running, not. ;P) (Not.) ... Eh, okay. Maybe we can take one tribble back. 'slong as we don't feed it, eh? Forget the tribbles, I want the computer! Not too mention propulsion. Why? We already got Hank. And Kurt. ] Da Party travels along. There's a elevator shaft, thats stuck on open. There's a ladder on the far side of the empty column, and no sign of an elevator. 'cording to the map, you go up. * Maria looks for stairs. * Eric laughs. "Eh, true. Maybe we could just grab some tech then, eh?" ] Stairs? Who uses stairs in a space station? (Maria, haven't you learned from MC2 that there are never stairs when we really need them? ^_~) * Haruko looks at the shaft. "Alright... how do we get over to that ladder?" She starts looking around for a hunk of metal that could be used as a bridge. * Katie manages to halt before she falls in the elevator and looks up the shaft. ] Katie: There's an elevator WAAAY UP there. ( Are the elevator cables there? ) * Eric looks at the signal pad. "Think we can get it to work from some auxillary source of power?" Eh? (Yeah, I can yank on the cables, since it worked so well last time. ;p) (How far up is the bridge, and how close is the ladder. ie: Can we grab it without falling to our dooms?) ] Yes! There are cables! Theres four feet from the entrance to the cables, and the same from the cables to the ladder. * Maria looks at the elevator shaft. She walks calmly into it, crawling on the walls. Who needs a ladder? ] As far as potential makeshift bridge material, there's a bunch of wiring dug out from a nearby wall. * Daegal eyes Maria. "... that'd come in handy." Maria, can you- actually, scout ahead. I don't think it'll notice you for some reason. ] 'cording to the map, you go two floors up, then continue on. It won't. * Katie frowns at the cables. Eh, it will if ya keep talkin'. Though if you can help us cross, that'd be even better. * Haruko goes over and treis to get some wiring loose. In large chunks hopefully. Maria could tie one end of this to the ladder. * Maria pulls a hood out from under her shirt and pulls it over her head. She heads on up! Stealthy like Maria! ... Or she could leave. ] Haruko! Bod roll, -3! 2d6 -3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6 -3) and gets 7. (No space.) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6-3) and gets 7. (...) (Heh.) (It was meant to be.) ( .... ) * Maria comes down. "Oh, and you want me to throw down a rope when I'm up there? Or tie one to the ladder, or something? * Katie perks. "You have rope?" Eh, yeah! ] The wiring jolts Haruko. It's not liking being pulled. That's perfect. Oh, and don't touch the exposed wi... right. Beefboy, check on her. * Eric chuckles. ] From to the cabling, to the ladder looks like an easy jump. But getting a grip after the jump might be harder. * Maria gets her rope out and ties one end to the ladder a few feet up from the floor, and then hops out of the shaft, looking for something to tie the other end to. Are you guys *sure* that this is the only way up? What kinda high-tech starship doesn't have crawl-tubes, eh? ] The jolt dosen't actually do any damage. * Haruko shakes her head a bit. "Silly me." She then puts on a pair of leather riding gloves in tries again. ] Haruko: 'nother bod roll! -3! * Katie looks back at Satoshi and smiles sympathetically. "Probably." 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6-3) and gets 5. (Just made) Guess we'll just have to deal with it. ( Maria: Whatcha doing? ) * Satoshi swallows. ... Beefboy. That has potent- nah. I'd sound like some kind male stripper, working for the Oreo Cookie Brigade. ] Haruko manages to pull out some wiring. Whee! * Katie looks up at the end of the rope. "Hey, Maria? Why not just hand the rope to me, and I can swing across." ( Jex> Using the rope to make it easier for the others to get across. ) Yeah. Then ya'd go along with the Hamburgler and Mustard Man. Once I'm across, take the end to someone back here and do it again. Actually, I could just hold it for you guys. I won't need it, after all. Eh, wish Claire was here. She'd be able to fly us up there. * Haruko carries the wiring over to the shaft. "Oh, we have rope too? That's helpful." Or Taki could teleport us. ] There's a half open door with a busted open window. That'd work. * Katie sighs and shakes her head. But she's not here, so I guess we have to do this. * Eric eyes the live wires. "Eh, didn'tcher mom ever tell ya not to play with live wires?" * Haruko checks how long her bit of wiring is. "Oh, it's not live anymore. Sides, machinery wouldn't hurt me if it could help it." Haruko, please tell me you haven't developed machine empathy. ] 4 feet of wiring. Yes, I'm using english measurement. So sue me. * Eric smiles. "Ya coulda just asked me ta cut it. I've got a toolkit right here." * Maria sits there, the rope already tied and ready to go. o/` * Haruko grins back at Eric. "What's the fun in that?" She then looks over at Satoshi. "What do you mean developed?" Okay, Kaede's the one with the technopathy, can we go up yet? Well, Kaede can do weird stuff with computers, so... yeah. Eh, that's pretty cool. Ya a furnipath too? * Haruko ties the wiring around her self for future use. "Doesn't mean he's empathetic." She then walks over to the rope and grabs it. "So, just swing across?" Who wants ta go first? A what? I'll do it. Unless Haruko will. * Katie actually looks impatient now. "Let's hurry. Someone's going to die up there." Furnipath. Communicates with chairs'n stuff. Okay, now that's just weird. * Haruko wraps the rope around her wrists and holds on tight. She then swings for it. One've our friends does that. s'nifty. ( Like Seki? ) Yeah. Ya should see her sometime, eh? ^_^ ( Err. Sorry. Ikea. ) (She does not!) Sure. I'll look you guys up, although you'll all be older then. Presuming we can make it back to the right time periods. (Oh, Katie was holding it? I wasn't quite sure.) (You've got it now, Haruko. Swing!) (And if Jex told us how it ended... ^_~) ( o/~ ) (So, I body rolling for this? ) ( With rope? No. ) ( Rope = Autosuccess. ) ( Otherwise we'd be here another 10 minutes rolling for it. ^_~ ) * Haruko quietly but enthusiastically goes "Whee!" And grabs on to the ladder with a bit of work. Once she's secured her feet she tosses the rope back to Katie. (It's kinda like how you don't need to roll for parallel parking, even though most people can't.) (*snerk*) * Katie nearly falls into the shaft catching, but grabs the rope anyway. "Climb higher," she warns as she winds it around her wrists. * Haruko quickly does so. "Good call." * Katie swings once she figures Haruko's a safe distance up, grabbing the ladder without much difficulty at all. She unwinds the rope, looks back, and calls, "Catch!" as she throws it back. ( Hey. I can parallel park! ;_; ) * Maria goes back into the elevator shaft, sneaking up to the floor they want and looking for problems on the way. * Satoshi steps up and grabs it. "Okay. Whatever I do, don't look down." Don't look down. * Katie climbs up. * Satoshi takes a deep breath. "Okay. It's just like a swing." ] Maria is sneaky like Kirby! Err. Like Ninja! Nothing's there. ( ... please tell me I did not just have a Brett moment. >< ) * Satoshi pushes himself off and swings across! And almost misses grabbing the ladder, but makes it. He starts climbing up after the girls. * Katie calls down, "And the last person had better untie that thing and bring it up." (o/~) Good job, Satoshi. * Haruko keeps moving up to make room, while she does so she whispers. "I figure Satoshi could use this wire as a safety line to you if he really needs it. But hopefully he won't." Thanks. Keep going! * Katie smiles. * Haruko nods and in a normal tone of voice adds. "Well done." She then starts climbing the rest of the way up. ] At .5 floors away from desired destination.... Hearing rolls! -1 for Maria! (Okay, we'll assume we all went. Mweheh.) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Maria (2d6-3) and gets -1, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "I love you. Do you love me too? Y_ N_" 2d6 2d6-12 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6) and gets 9. * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6-12) and gets -5. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6) and gets 4. (Love us.) (Failed.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Satoshi (2d6) and gets 7. (Make) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Daegal (2d6-2) and gets 10, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "I hate being random." ( ...I think Maria heard it. And yes, Dice, I love you now. ) (I don't think I made it.) (The X-P kiddies are clueless!) ( ... and there's my crit-fail for the session. ) (Wow. The MC2 dicehate is not in effect tonight.) (Yer a buncha mutie freaks anyway.) (Damn straight!) (Or it is, but not against the MC2 characters. Just the players. ;p0 * Daegal motions for Eric to swing. "After you, my good man." ] Maria: You're pretty sure you hear the sound of the elevator unlatching, and descending. 'kay. * Eric swings! ] Everyone else who made it just hears a clanking sound. * Eric grabs on with a little trouble. And climbs up. ] From above. * Haruko glances up as she climbs. * Satoshi does not hear, as he is concentrating on climbing, so he can get back on solid ground again! * Katie frowns. "That can't be good." ( Err, Sorry. Katie also gets the Definite Knowledge. ) ...I don't want to know, do I? * Katie blinks as she realizes. "Shit. Definitely not good. The elevator's coming!" What? (About how far away was it when we started?) * Eric frowns. "Dammit! Should I try and blow it up?" * Haruko hustles like mad. She keeps looking up though. ...ELEVATOR. * Daegal is about to swing when he hears everyone talking. "... crap. Climb down! I'll toss the rope over, you all can swing back and I'll catch you." ( .5 floors away from 2nd floor up. ) Down, down! Get out of the tube! (Yeah, we're a ways away.) Yeah, Eric! Blow it up so it comes falling down on your head! ( First two or three could make it all the way, with good rolls. ) (Yeah.) * Maria scrambles down, grabbing someone and pulling 'em out if she can. (Haruko's closest to you, Maria. Grabbing her?) * Haruko makes a run for Maria. We don't know what's in the elevator. It could be a person. * Haruko makes a desperate climb for Maria rather. Shit shit shit. * Daegal waits for Eric to get in position, then tosses the rope to him. * Eric gets in postition and hastily swings back. ( Sure. ) ( Maria: Grabbing someone and scrambling back up? ) * Katie looks at the cables. Are they moving? ] Cables are moving! Katie! Get down here now! (Up or down, and faster or slower than I can climb?) * Satoshi starts heading back down. ] Both! And faster than you can climb. Where's the rope? * Daegal grabs Eric and the rope, pulls him to safety, then looks up at the others. "Hurry up! I've got the rope here ready!" * Eric is pulled. (I'm going down; let me know when I've reached the point where I can get the rope.) ( If I can grab more people, I do so. ) ( You can jump from ladder to cable with a -2 bod roll. ) (Acro (jumping) count?) ( Yep. ) * Maria grabs more people? (You have any idea how hard it'd be to grab that moving cable without burning your hands on it?) ] Elevator: 2 floors and counting! (Think Haruko is the only one who'd be close enough, Katie's going down I think. ) (Yeah, there is that.) Dammit! Only if there was something I could do... (Katie's not going down. She's feeling suicidal today.) * Satoshi goes down! Amazing how the fear of heights disappears in the fear of being squished! And perhaps he's reached the rope. ] And the last two up got back to safety fine, plus the two Maria has grabbed. This is a horrible case of deja vu. Eh? * Satoshi has apparently rejoined Eric and Daegal. Yay for GM narration! ^_~ * Katie looks at the cables, momentarily panicked, then she steels herself and jumps for the upwards-moving ones. 2d6-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6-6) and gets -1. (So there.) * Haruko whips her brow a floor up as she was first after Maria. She looks to make sure everyone was safe and looks for a place to stick her wrench to stall the elevator if it comes to that. * Eric looks worried sick. ] Katie looks mighty impressive as she flawlessly jumps from the ladder to the cable to the 2nd floor exit. (Wow. Friction need not apply. :P) Niiice... ack. *gets his head out of the elevator shaft before he's decapitated* * Maria helps Katie into the exit, just in case. "Not bad. Your kinda' skill could really do stuff with some training." ] And that leaves.... noone. * Katie doesn't land so well, tumbling to the ground. She squeaks in pain, probably because her teeth are gritted, and one hand grips her wrist before she realizes that's a bad idea. * Satoshi sits on the floor. "I can't look. Did they make it out okay?" ] Then the cables snap, and it falls! I *really* hope so. * Haruko looks away, satisfied with the rescue. "Damn Katie..." She then rushes over to her. "C'mon, lemme see to those palms." * Satoshi hears the snap and shudders. "Yeah. Deja vu, although hopefully nobody's going to have the elevator fall on them this time..." Looked like they all made it to the second floor landing. You alright? * Katie winces, but shows them to Haruko: bleeding and burned. "Remind me not to do that again." ] There's a loud *crash* as the elevator hits rock bottom. ... and no more ladder, either. (FYI, Jex, the design of this space station is very odd.) ] Or cabling. * Katie shuts her eyes as the elevator crashes to the bottom. "I'm okay. Maria, can you go get the boys?" ( Yes. Yes it is. ) ...well, shit. ( Do we still have the rope? ) * Haruko very daintly touches Katie's hand and heals her. With her other hand she rubs Katie's back. "I'm amazed you could do it once." Yeah, I'll do that. Look for something to tie the rope to in case I can salvage it. ( Rope: Check! ) * Maria rope get! * Daegal pokes his head back into the shaft. "Everyone okay up there?" * Katie glances around, probably doing as Maria said. She smiles sheepishly. "Yeah, so am I." She raises her voice, but not too loud, "We're all right!" * Daegal gives the thumbs up to the other two guys. * Satoshi lets out a breath. * Eric lets out a sigh of relief. "I was aboot to lose my lunch, eh?" Which one? You had ten, if I remember right. Number five. * Katie looks relieved as the burns disappear and bleeding slows to a stop. "Thanks, Haruko." So how are we getting up there now? Speaking of which... Any places to eat here? I'll try tying the rope. * Haruko nods and smiles as she lets go. "If it's still tender you can borrow my driving or insulated gloves." * Satoshi looks at Eric. "I really doubt it. How can you think about food now?" And if that doesn't work, I can ...proabably carry you up one at a time. Not sure about beefboy. * Katie shakes her hand, pressing it against her other palm. "It's not that bad." ] More hearing rolls, for the ones up top! * Daegal pokes his head into the shaft, and nearly jumps when he sees Maria standing on a wall above and across from him. "If you can secure the rope enough so I can climb up, I can pull the others up. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6) and gets 8. (Miss by three) 2d6-12 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6-12) and gets -3. (I made it!) Alright. You'd be surprised. (Or two rather, as hearing is mind) * Maria gets the rope, goes back up, and looks for somewhere to tie it up top. * Haruko assists in the search for secure points, scanning the 2nd level as she does so. * Daegal looks over at Satoshi. "This is gonna sound odd, but... would you mind whacking me in the ribs with your hockey stick?" ...what? * Katie 's eyes widen. "Hurry. Get Eric up here." Do it. He knows what he's talkin' boot. Okay, okay. (Someone needs a boom mage!) * Satoshi pulls out his stick. Eh? ...oh, right. * Haruko keeps looking around. "What is it Katie?" As hard as I can? Because I can hit very hard. * Maria goes and gets Eric! (You're asking *Satoshi* to smack you with his hockey stick? Oh dear.) It's thirty feet, and moving faster. * Daegal lifts his right arm, exposing his ribs. "How hard is very hard? If it'd hurt less than being shot, then it's okay." ] Haruko: There's more doors up there, 'n such. As well as a nice hole in the cieling that you could take to the next floor up, if you could reach it. * Maria grabs Eric, and hauls him up without bothering to ask if he's ready! I think I'm gonna need to check my swing, then. * Eric comes peacefully! * Katie gets to her feet. Wind starts to pick up around her, which is odd, since they're in a place with none of it. She looks around. Good idea. * Satoshi swings at Daegal, although he's holding back using his full strength. * Haruko looks for any doors that could be shut between them and the thirty feet away thing. ( Hitting with hockey stick. Oi. ) (A metal hockey stick!) (But not at full strength!) ( How much less? ) ] Haruko: All the doors are also non-functioning. (An alloy no less. Specially designed and balanced for Satoshi's strength and comfort, with optional leather padding for when you don't really want to kill the target.) (Am I up there yet?) (Haruko made it, you see.) (Yeah. It's a really good stick. ^_^) ] Eric 'n Maria make it back up! * Eric gets off. "Eh, what's the problem?" (Hard enough to get his powers to work. ;p) * Katie doesn't turn to look when they reach her. "One of those things is coming. It'll be here in under a minute." * Eric nods and looks at the hull. How easily would it blast away, and how wide is the hallway? * Haruko points up to the hole in the ceiling and whispers. "There's a point of escape up there, but I don't think we could all get up in time." ( Hull? Floor or walls or cieling? ) (Floor in particular.) ( 'kinda tough. But you think your stuff could punch a hole in it. ) * Eric runs forward at least a good 20 yards. He kneels down and concentrates, a small ball of plasma appearing on the floor where he placed his hands. He runs back to the rest of the group. "That should buy us some time if it gets that close." (Twenty yards?) (You'd run into the thing by then.) (Well before you get there.) ( Eek. Yeah, thats kinda far. ) * Daegal winces as he gets whacked in the ribs. "Again, 'bout as hard." Okay. (Just have it show up already! Thirty feet, it should've. ;P) (... Oookay.) * Satoshi whacks Daegal again, same amount of strength behind it. (Well, screw area attacks then.) * And it rounds the corner just as Eric's setting his trap. Init! d6+8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (d6+8) and gets 14. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (d6+6) and gets 9. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (d6+6) and gets 8. ]] Eric, Mr Pointy, Haruko, Katie. (Err, that should be 7.) (So 13.) * Daegal winces again, HARD, and if Satoshi listens carefully he can hear a rib or two crack. Daegal starts glowing bright red. ( which dosen't change it. ) ... ow. Nice swing. *lowers arm* * Eric runs AWAY from the trap he planted as fast as possible. "Get down!" (Can I do that, or do I need to wait for my turn? ^^) * Satoshi blinks and stows his stick away. "So I guess that's why you wanted me to hit you." (I think you guys can duck. ^^;) ( 20 metre blast radius. Owwies. ) (Unless Eric toned down the attack.) (If he didn't, we're toasty. And can we duck and cover? :P) ( Did ya? ) Yeah... my powers make me stronger'n tougher'n stuff, but they only come on after I've been kicked around a bit. Kinda a crock, I think. (Toned down to 15 meter.) (Sure, but our init hadn't come up yet) * Maria avoids the blast. (Which should give me about 5 meters of space to spare.) (And the rest of us, too.) ...that's probably the first time I've been glad that my powers are always active. So what now? ] Eric: Running! On to Bot! Now we wait for Maria ta come down'n bring us up, I guess. * Maria decides to go on down. But not to avoid the fight. Honest. ] Bot looks down at the gowy thing momentarilly, but chooses to pass it up, not losing any speed to do so. (What speed? ^_^) (Does it go boom?) * Satoshi calls into the elevator shaft. "Maria! Can you get us up there?" ] And glowy thing goes BOOM! Making a nice hole in the floor. And the walls, too. Also hitting the Bot, but it's going fast enough to evade the center of the blast. * Maria comes down. "Sure. Which one fi-- hey, beefboy. What's with the lightshow?" Take him first! Right. ] Haruko! Powers. Me get hurt, me get strong. Ugh. * Maria grabs Daegal. "Man, I hope I can carry this much weight." * Daegal blinks at the explosion. "What the hell's goin' on up there?" Oh, another robot showed up. ( Daegal's only 150 lbs. =P ) * Katie winces at the explosion, too. * Haruko flinches from the blast and backs up against the wall in a defensive stance. [Full defense] * Maria starts up with Daegal! ] Katie! (He is? Dang, Satoshi weighs more. ;p) ] Maria: With a passenger, you'll make it in a round. ( Daegal's only 15. He may be well muscled, but he's still lanky. =P ) (But he's taller than Satoshi, too.) ( Satoshi's a hockey player. He's stocky. =P ) (Heh.) * Katie backs up, too, pulling a carving knife from her satchel. She unsheathes it and takes a deep breath, trying to steady herself. (Full defense) (I'm rather of the opinion that Jesse's basing this on himself, who doesn't weigh much in the first place. ^_~) * Daegal winces again as being carried jostles his ribs. "Just one of 'em." ] Eric again! Note that Bot's now in Melee. ( Well, yes. I'm about 5'11. Daegal's 6', so he's me with an extra 15 or so lbs of muscle. ) (Like I said, doesn't weigh much in the first place.) ( Exactly. =P ) * Eric backs up... "Okay, you want to play rough? Let's go." He puts his hands forward, the familiar beam of charged particles surging torwards the bot. 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6-5) and gets 0. (Made by 7.) ] Bot strafes to the side. See the wall where the beam did hit go boom! Several layers through. Uh... shit. Shit works! ] Bot makes to impale Eric with both of it's arms. Two melee def rolls! Uh... be careful, vacuum of space, bad... 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6-2) and gets 3. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6) and gets 7. (Made first, failed second.) Eh, won't matter much if there's a vacuum in my body. * Eric takes the hit in the side. He's bleeding pretty badly, but still standing. * Katie grimaces. ] Haruko! * Haruko charges the robot, swinging her wrench. "I'm sorry to do this.. if it wasn't for some evil programmer..." 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6) and gets 9. (miss by a bit) ] Haruko swings, but can't find the heart to put enough effort in it to connect. ] And Katie! Ow, yeah. Ow... I've had worse. (Jex. /msg.) Get away from that thing, Eric! * Katie pushes her hand towards the bot, and that unnatural wind that's been swirling decides to rush forwards. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6) and gets 9. (Feh. DR1) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6) and gets 9. (...) ( You suck, Dicey. ) (DR2. Why not?) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6) and gets 5. (You swing like a Haruko :P ) (Gotcha.) (Or not. ^_~ ) (Say thanks, Eric. ;P) (Thanks, Eric. ;P) (Ow...) (Just for that, you should let the bot hit him. ;p) (Okay, Thanks Katie. ^_^) * Eric backs up! ] Whee! Bot gets swept of it's feet. Literally. Nevermind it's not actually connected to it's feet. And down the convenient hole that Eric made beforehand. Oops. * Haruko rushes over to Eric and tries to apply her conventional and weak supernatural healing skills to him. "Good work Katie, now get the first aid kit." * Katie opens her satchel and digs out the kit. "Shouldn't we blast it while it's down?" ] And Maria'n Dae make it up! * Maria deposits Daegal and rushes down to get Satoshi. * Haruko nods. "Uh.. maybe! I don't know." Haruko concentrates on Eric's wounds. How far of a drop is it Katie? I don't know. You made the hole! * Eric winces as he sits down. "Feels a lot like being hit bo Rogue..." (Err, by.) * Satoshi waits for Maria to come back, then goes up with her. Should be a good 10 meters deep, at least, then. * Katie goes to Eric, setting down the kit. "Attached to your shirt?" Not terribly so. Good. ] Should you dare to look, it's not wherever it's supposed to have fallen. * Haruko puts her hand by the wound but is content to let Katie take the lead in conventional healing. * Katie pulls a pair of scissors out and cuts at the fabric, then sets about patching him up. (Medical roll?) * Eric smiles weakly. "Thanks. You gonna be a doctor someday?" ( s'getting late here on the east coast. x_x ) ( sure. ) I'm sorry Eric, I can't do as much for non-Arcana, but hopefully it'll help a bit. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6-2) and gets 6. (Made.) (It is? *blinks* Oh, how about that? ^^;) Something is better than nothing. ^^; Eh... * Katie smiles faintly. "An ornithologist, with any luck." But I made a point of figuring out how to fix my own scrapes. ( Continue another time? 'cause I can't go much longer. ) (But when? <.< >.>) ( Err. Yeah. How much everyone else good for? ) Take to the sky... Eh, maybe I could fly you around sometime, if my crate's still in one piece. (I can stay up for a while still.) (I think I'm gonna need to bow out soon.) * Katie grins. "Oh, you have a plane? That'd be fun." * Jex changes topic to 'Twoshot! Sat 10pm EST! ' ** Last time! Which is funny for a one-shot. ("Previously, one One-Shot Theater..." "Isn't that a contradiction in terms?") ** People woke up, butt nekked! Almost. ** And then they opened the door into the great beyond, and blew up the poor floating bot thing who woulda impaled you given the chance. ** They talked to a map, went up an elevator shaft, went up and down the elevator shaft, and the people who stayed up got to fight another bot thingie! ** And now, Maria went and scouted ahead. Leaving Da Party at the top. ** Resumation! * Satoshi exhales. "Man, I'm glad to be on solid ground again. Are you guys okay?" * Haruko keeps healing Eric, albiet not that effectively. * Eric smiles. "In a relative sense." He winces. ^^; * Eric is healed! Sorta. * Katie finishes patching up Eric. She looks over at Daegal, raises an eyebrow, and comments, "You're glowing." * Daegal rubs his ribs, then winces HARD as he pokes a particular spot, producing a loud grinding sound. "Yeah. Had Satoshi whack me in the ribs a coupla times." * Eric gets up with a little effort once the healing's done. "His powers activate when he gets hit really hard." ... there. Rib's back in place. * Satoshi winces. "Sorry about that." * Katie blinks. That's a bum deal. Where do you get powers, anyway? * Eric thinks. "Genetic." So you were just born with them, like that? No weird cosmic and mystical influences? * Haruko stands up. "That's cool. Don't have to worry about weird magic explainations for everything, and can do more scientific testing." You're not the reincarnations of anything? Sorry, don't believe in Bhuddism. ^^; Nah. Just some funky ass genes. * Haruko shakes her head. "Not a buddhist thing, weird magic thing. Long story." Well, let's get moving again. Very long story. And I think we need to get going. * Daegal mutters. "Bet Captain America doesn't have to get his ass kicked to get his powers to work." Yeah, and neither do I. Ya just got a bum deal, eh? ( Heh. ) No offense, Daegal, but I'm really glad mine don't work that way. I'd have to have somebody whack me in the head every time I wanted to use telepathy... not that I like using it much anyway. Yeah, well, at least I heal quick. * Katie stands, fully. "At least that's one mystery solved. Probably. We should catch up to Maria." 're a telepath, eh? Let's get movin'. ... plus, it's toughened me up some. *grins* Limited telepathy. It didn't work on you earlier. I tried saying hi, but I could tell it wasn't working. * Satoshi draws his stick again and gets ready to go. So, we're supposed to go up another floor, right? Eh... Ya remember, Katie? * Katie nods, already walking off. * Eric follows! * Satoshi follows. This is familiar. ;p * Haruko points up to the hole in the roof. ** 'cording to the map, it's ... that way, some. Past the big hole in the floor made by Captain Plasma. And more that way. And stuff. * Eric makes sure Katie's in front. Ow... * Eric looks down the hole he made. "Wasn't s'posed to be *that* big." * Haruko shrugs and gets moving, carefully going around the hole. You do that a lot, Eric? Eh, only when I gotta. ^^; ** And to make stuff Reallllly quick, you make it to... Ship Bay! This area still has (mostly) working doors, but the one into the area is beeping and flashing red, and keeps on saying, 'Vacuum' over and over again. Uh, that sucks. Vacuum. I don't like the sound of that. ... I'm gonna take a stab inna dark, and say that don't mean there's a red-light sale on vaccums. Alright.. so we need to find the control room to close the bay doors, or find some space suits. * Eric nods. "Sounds like a plan, eh?" * Haruko looks for either, or a place to talk to the computer. ** There's also a note left by Maria: 'Off to bridge to close bay doors.' * Eric looks too! * Katie walks over and reads the note. "Looks like Maria left to take care of the problem." She looks for a terminal of some sort. * Satoshi points to the note. "Looks like Maria's off taking care of it." (And Satoshi is Mr. Obvious. Again!) Good girl. ::Haruko focuses on looking for terminals or space suits, just in case. ** There's another map on the nearby wall. Not all the the display is working, and it's flickering on and off. (I'm really good at stating the obvious. Whether or not that's something to be proud of is another story. ;p) ** And there's a room off to the side with several space suits. Most of them are trashed, some of them have people in them who've been impaled. But there's 4 still in working condition. (Convenient.) ( Isn't it? ^_^ ) * Katie notices those. "Hm. Not enough for all of us." (Not *that* convenient.) Yeah. Who doesn't get one? * Haruko starts inspecting the space suits to make sure there isn't anything subtle wrong with them. * Katie grins. "Whoever can survive a hard vaccuum." * Eric does the same. Go techies! * Katie is not a techie, amazingly. Thanks for volunteering, Katie. ^_^ Unless I've got some power I have no idea about, I don't think I can. Oh, I did? Okay. And I'd really rather not test that out. ** Mind rollage! And checking now to see if ye've got any appropriate skillz. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6) and gets 8. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6) and gets 4. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Daegal (2d6) and gets 9. ( Ha! No. ) (I made that anyways.) (Missed by two, if no skill applies) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Katie (2d6) and gets 8. ( Actually, Electronics will work. ) (By... 4.) (Missed by one, if no skill applies.) Well, I'm tough'n all, but I still needta breathe. Think we all do. So we need ta find'a way 'cross, eh? Well, if nothin' else, if someone's gonna wait out here while the others look around in there, best be me. (I take it there are no ships in the ship bay?) ( Unknown. No windows. ) ** Everyone who made it thinks the suits are in pretty good working order. ( Jex:Did any skill end up applying ) ( Electronics. ) They're workin', but there's still not enough for all of us, eh... * Katie shakes her head. "There'd better be an airlock, is all I have to say." ( diagnoisticy stuff in them to read. ) * Haruko nods, satisfied with the condition of the suits. "There may be something I can do.... But if Maria can close the doors it shouldn't be a problem." I'll stay behind. I'm not very good with machines, anyway. ( Sleeping in the open! )_ But what if another one of those robot things shows up? Knowin' the way they designed this place, I'd not be surprised with an abscence of airlock. Daegal and Satoshi will be more useful if debris needs to be moved. * Katie waves vaguely. "I think I can outrun them long enough. And Satoshi, keep a link open." * Haruko starts looking around for a safe place someone could stay. * Satoshi nods. ... nah, don't like that. If it's a vaccum, there's no gravity, right? * Eric goes about figuring out how to put one of the suits on. ** The room you're in has a working, lockable door and such. Looks about as sturdy as the room ye all woke up in. (Which means I could probably blow a hole through the wall.) ... of course, we could just lock the door into this room. Eh, that'd work. I think either Daegal or Satoshi should stay, though. * Katie frowns. "Are you sure?" * Haruko thinks for a bit. "There may be gravity, I don't think a vacuum would make a big difference. The shuttle bay is depressurized by now, so there isn't the 'sucking' towards space." Right. Course, there will be some when we first open the door. * Katie rubs at her forehead. "Also, look for the non-hostile the computer mentioned." If that person's still alive, he might have some answers. So we should probably hold on tight. Hopefully these suits will have magnetic boots or jetpacks. ::Haruko goes to try to put one on and figure out the range of equipment:: * Eric nods. (Hey, Jex, did I figure out how to put one on?) ** The map, in a nice useful offer of information, intones, 'Non-hostile is in Ship Bay.' A flashy dot indicatesthey're actually in the depressurized area. So who's staying? If it's me, I've got a way to contact at least Katie and Haruko really quickly if it comes to that. ( Space suits are easy to put on. ) * Haruko calls out as she puts the suit on. "Computer, who or what is the nonhostile?" * Eric checks gear on the suit he put on. * Katie smiles faintly. "I already said I'll stay. I'll scream if I need you." Heh, right. Be careful, okay? ** The space suits have a small air pack for manueveruing, several hours of air, a grappling hook attached to one arm, and magboots. * Haruko grins. "Yah! magboots. Who needs gravity?!" ** 'Nonhostiles ID is not registered in database.' * Katie goes to help people put their suits on. Bulky things. ... if ya insist. Don't get yerself killed or anythin'. Computer, what is my ID? * Satoshi starts to puit the suit on, with Katie's help. "Thanks, Katie." * Haruko test for an intercom in the suit. * Katie comments, not looking back at Daegal, "I've been through worse." ** The voice intones a really long serial number. Same one as was above the capsule you woke up on. 'Least they're thurough, eh? ** The spacesuits do have an intercom, too. Yay! ** As do some of the trashed ones. Eh, Daegal. What'cha wanna bet Xavier has somethin' like this in the mansion? * Daegal works on gettin' his spacesuit on. "I swear to god, if I see any fuckin' Ewoks, I'm gonna go postal." (Sigh. Why am I stuck with the only one of my characters who *wouldn't* get sci-fi references? ;p) (I don't know!) Wrong universe. We're in the one with tribbles. ( Heh. ) * Haruko turns on the intercom. "Computer, please open a broadcast channel between all the spacee suits and this room." Yeah. Trek, not Wars. (Chie's an old movie buff. So's Aaron. And Eric's a geek. ;p) ** 'It beeps.' (Geeks unite!) Prolly does. Got the money to build it by skimping on the security budget. ( Err. - ' ) Yeah, really. Eh, remind me not to let my powers blow up in my face again. That *hurt*. (Geeks named Eric, even. ;p) ... point. Okay. If I see any green chicks tryin' ta score with a guy who can't act, I'm gonna go postal. * Satoshi blinks. "What?" Eh, Better. * Eric smiles. * Haruko says "Testing, testing.." Into the intercom to see if it gets announced on a PA so that Katie can hear it." ( Do you -want- me to make the sole suvivor Kirk? ) (Hey, that'd just be funny.) ** Haruko's voice echoes in all the spacesuits. Whee! (And then I could kill Shatner.) Read ya loud and clear, eh. * Haruko grins. "Perfect. Let's get a move on." Right. Lead the way. * Katie waves. "Have fun!" * Daegal puts his helmet on. "Well, this sure beats kickin' the crap outta bodega bandits in Red Hook." * Eric waves back. Um, what's a bodega? * Eric puts helmet stuff on and makes sure it's locked and shit. ** The door leading onwards is still flashing and beeping and stuff. And going 'Vacuum.' * Haruko turns on the magnet boots and walks over to the door. "Remember to turn on your boots. We may also want to practice using our airpacks before things get dangerous." * Satoshi is ready! He thinks. * Katie backs away from the door. Not like that'd save her or anything. Eh, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. That sucks. * Eric points at the door. ( * Whacks Z with the Pun Mallet. ) (Was wondering when someone'd get it.) * Satoshi lightly (very lightly) whaps the back of Eric's helmet. "Sorry, but that was too bad to let go." Oh, computer. Just to be sure. Can I give the order to close the bay doors from here? * Eric gets whaped. "Was waitin' for that, eh." ** 'Negative. Security level is too high. Must be closed from the bridge.' * Haruko nods. "Has the group member who seperated from us reached the bridge yet?" ** 'Unknown.' ** 'Unable to detect ' * Haruko snerks. "She's a little too talented for her own good. Or our own good at least." She's damn sneaky... like a ninja. Cute ninja. Cute ninja who can't remember peoples' names. Eh, yeah. Aptly put. Alright, Katie, get behind the room door and seal it behind you. Let's rescue the survivor, he, she, or it may not be able to wait on Maria. * Satoshi braces himself. * Eric braces himself too! * Katie nods. "Sure." She moves to close the door. "Good luck." * Haruko awkward walks over to a wall to secure herself. "Everyone check your suits diagnostics to verify that you are sealed and turn on your magnetic boots. Satoshi, keep that line open to Katie." It's open. * Eric checks. All operational? * Haruko checks her diagnostics than watches the rest of the group. * Satoshi checks his suit. It looks okay to him. How do you turn on the boots? ... time to go where nobody from Red Hook has ever gone before. I mean, other'n an Ivy league school, the opera, the ballet... (snerk) * Daegal checks to make sure he isn't gonna explosively decompress. (Are you all done? Can I close it now? ;P) * Haruko snickers and then quickly goes over her understanding of the controls, watching Satoshi's boots to make sure he turns it on succesfully. ** Everything checks out. Dem dere are gosh-darn good spacesuits, now. (Sweet.) * Satoshi turns on the boots. Sadly, he can't appreciate the quality of the spacesuits, since he really doesn't know all that much about this sort of thing. Ready? * Eric turns on the boots. " Remind me ta get some of these, eh. * Satoshi nods. ** There's an odd beeping sound, that sounds like a croak, overriding the current beeping. And the door opens by itself! Did one of you guys do that? ... No. Close the door Katie! Oh. I was afraid of that. * Katie does that, as quickly as possible. ** Everyone not in the spacesuit room, bod rolls! In the room, with a -3! 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6-3) and gets 2. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6-3) and gets 0. ( Airlock is connected to the hallway. Spacesuit room is connected to hallway. Spacesuit room is not connected to airlock. ) ** But Katie closes the door. So just bod rolls for the people outside the room. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Daegal (2d6-3) and gets 3. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Satoshi (2d6-3) and gets 1. ** The suction dosen't seem to affect anyone, though, as they all manage to brace themselves from it. ( Err. Against. ) * Haruko tests whether the magnetic boots are strong enough to resist the suction. ... dude, that sucked like a Times Square hooker. ** You've got a view of the next door, which should be the opposing door to make it an airlock, but it's kinda melted. * Eric snickers at Daegal. "I wouldn't know." Eh. * Haruko rolls her eyes. That's NOT right. I know, I know. Shouldn't be no hookers in Times Square. * Satoshi points. "I think he meant the door." ** And there's a lone ship in the bay. Kinda off in the middle of it. It's about the size of a long bus, but a lot more bulky. * Haruko says over the intercom. "Computer, who opened the airlock?" ** 'Unknown.' ... oh. That. I knew that. * Daegal chuckles nervously. * Haruko tries to move towards the airlock edging along the wall. She tries to get a feel for how strong the suction is as she does so. * Satoshi would probably have rolled his eyes if he were Kyon or Kaede. But he doesn't. * Eric shrugs and follows Haruko's lead. ** The scene beyond is that of stars, blackness, and a planet. * Daegal follows. "Well, since we ain't goin' through that door, I guess we check out the ship thingee? ** The initial suction survived, it's pretty manageable. And look for whoever's supposed to be in here. Might be on the ship. * Haruko gets awkwardly walking towards the ship. "Computer, does this shuttle belong to the ship?" Eh, Probably. Either that or in a space suit, or adapted to survive the vacuum. * Satoshi heads toward the ship. ** 'Affirmative. The shuttle 'Alpha' is designated to this station.' * Daegal follows Satoshi. He's still making with the glowin', by the way. * Haruko keeps walking. "Can you open a communication line to shuttle Alpha?" * Eric moves to the ship. "Wonder if the keys are in the ignition, eh?" He grins. ** 'Negative.' * Haruko grins rather broadly at that. "Oh... who needs keys." Nobody's taking the ship anywhere until everyone's here. * Haruko tries to find the shuttle's airlock. And glances out at the planet to see if she recognizes it. ** Nope! ** Airlock: Yes. ... so should we knock or somethin'? * Eric knocks! Take the initiative! * Haruko nods. "Go ahead. Prolly won't hear it unless the airlocks broken though." She then looks for a control panel to the shuttle's airlock. ** There's a control panel! It's blinking a happy green, so thats probably good, and there's a button labeled, 'Open.' * Daegal shrugs, and knocks on the hull. Lightly. ( As in 'loud enough to create a 'knockknock' noise, but not loud enough to punch a hole through. =P ) It's probably a working airlock. Huh, does this thing have any windows? Couldn't hurrt to look in first in case the panel is giving a false positive. ** A hoarse voice comes on through the intercom. "Who is it? It's not another Silvoid, is it? If it is, I'll melt you into slag!" Eh? What'sa Silvoid? Uh, no, no Slivoids here, whatever they are. Ya talkin' 'bout those metal things that tried to stab me? No sir, we're earthlings. We woke up after the main attack was over. ** "What's a Silvoid? They're the things that killed everyone!" Eh... Yeah. Nope, but we kicked the crap outta a couple of them. Oh. Those. I probably should have guessed that. ** "Earth...lings? I ... I see. Come aboard, I'm stuck on here." * Haruko hits the happy open button. ( The poor guy, who was standing in the airlock, flies out into deep space. Whoops. ) ( No accounting for dumbasses. :P ) ** Airlock opens! IT can fir four people in it, and there's another button thats says 'Inside.' inside. ( Four. ) * Daegal motions for Haruko to enter. "Ladies first?" * Haruko smiles. "Thank you sir." And she walks in. * Eric smirks and pushes Daegal in, following him right afterwards. * Satoshi brings up the rear. * Haruko hits the inside button once everyone is safely through. "Once we're in, Satoshi should take back an empty suit to Katie. I'd be happy to accompany you Satoshi if you don't want to do it alone." Nah, I'll be fine. What about Maria, though? ** Inside, it looks like a shuttle! 2 seat fro pilots, and about 20 seats for extra passengers, plus all sortsa compartments and dials all over. We'll get her too, we aren't leaving yet. I can carry two. And we can wait for her. ** There's a guy lying on of of the passengers seats, with a bloody leg. * Haruko shakes her head. "There's no reason to leave Katie out there waiting. It's safer in here. We grab Maria when Maria shows up." She then walks in and proceeds to remover her suit. (He looks human?) ** There's a spacesuit with a shredded leg on the seat next to him. And he himself looks human. Well, before we do that, let's see what the deal is here. Might be more we need to do on the sta- geez, you okay? * Eric nods and takes his helmet off. "Eh... Ya don't look too good." Haruko, can you do anything for him? I'll survive. Did you bring spare engine parts? Uh, no? Where would we find those? * Haruko hurries up the suit removal and then walks up to the guy and starts on both conventional and supernatural healing. "Let me look after that first. What parts do you need? ... Propulsion. That's right. You've just been activated, you wouldn't have gotten the message.... Ok, what parts. Can I get a schematic? Wait, what? Activated? We're not robots. * Eric nods. "Propulsion doesn't help too much. What do you *really* need, eh?" All the growth tubes for the genetic samples we collected were activated, and their cells were locked down to keep them safe, in the hope that you would distract the Silvoids long enough for us to escape.... ...what? ... you don't know? We're clones? How do we have memories? Eh... That's just rude, ya know that? ... it dosen't matter. Our gambit failed anyways... I'm the only one left. Who *are* you? And what are the Slivinoids, exactly? * Haruko keeps at close proximity to the man while healing him, but tenses her muscles a bit, in case he tries to grab her. ... I'm a clone? Dude, I don't feel like a clone. They appeared when we activated for testing and observation. (Does that serial number sound familiar?) Eh... So you've been doin' things ya shouldn't have. ( Nope! ) They just showed up in the station? * Haruko nods. "So, you've taken samples of people with powers, and one of those samples had the power to summon those things." Yeah. And then started killing everyone they saw. And no matter how many times we killed them, they keep reappearing. Is still alive? Somewhere. It's ursurped some control over the stations systems, and none of the internal systems have been avle to detect him. They seem ta vanish whenever I blow'em up. So is controlling those things? * Haruko finishes up her bandaging of the leg but keeps up the supernatural healing until she's reached her limit on him. * Man nods at Haruko. "I thank you." Not sure. But they're definitely linked to it. ... right. So we find this person, kick his ass, de-activate the robots... then what? Where the hell are we, anyway? * Haruko stands up and goes to put her suit back on. "Alright, and why aren't you in the ships system? It couldn't identify you when we asked. Deimos Station, secret genetic programs base. (But not so secret now that he told you.~ ... the Admiral removed my ID from the system. *looks elsewhere* (Ah, I know. It's Richard. He always wanted death robots.) (*cracks up*) ( No, he always wanted NINJA DEATH ROBOTS. ) (Okay, all we have to do is find this guy's room and see if there's a dartboard with Aaron's picture on it. Then we'll know!) ( Not mere death robots. ) Why? We need everything you can tell us if we're all going to survive. Eh, yeah. Spill it. ... I suppose it won't matter if I tell you. I modified myself. Modified how? * Haruko nods. "Tried to give yourself a power from one of the samples?" ... yeah. Which one, and what power? * Haruko finishes putting her suit on. * Eric raises an eyebrow. "What'cha go for?" Hey, Satoshi. Weren'tcha gonna get Katie? * Haruko giggles. "Cause he wanted superpowers." We might have to go back anyway for the engine parts, and I want to hear this. * Haruko nods in agreement with Satoshi. A futile gesture 'cause her helmets on now. .... telepathy. It didn't work. You didn't use me, did you? .... Try him Satoshi. * Satoshi sends to the guy: ~Do you hear this?~ ("Congratulations. You're Judgement.") (Ooh, that's not good.) ( Ok, so what? ) ("We have to kill you.") (Good bye. *bang*.) (There can be only one of me. Us. Whatever.) * Man blinks at Satoshi. (DECAPITATED.) You heard that, didn't you? .... yeah. (He gets to be Judgment reversed) * Haruko checks that she's resecured her suit properly turns back to the man. "That settled, what parts do you need? Can I get a technical document, or will the computer be able to tell us?" ... you didn't really answer my question, man. Where's this space station? I mean, near Earth? Nowhere near Earth? A fuel converter, and a energy filter. .... Earth? You *do* know where Earth is, right? Yeah. Where we're from, eh. * Haruko then walks back to the airlock. "I'm thinking, not near earth. And I don't have the terminology to describe it properly." .... J system is where your samples came from. i'm unsure of what planet, or what it was called. Do you know how to get there? ... shit. How're we gonna get back, then? ... and if we're clones, aren't there us's already there? If we can get to the right solar system, we can find the rest of the way. It's on the onboard navigation systems. Good. Show us how to work them, we'll drop you off wherever, and then we'll go home. I'll show you once you get the engine parts. * Haruko waits in the airlock. "Alright, let's hit propulsion!" She sounds rather eager to go, and more than a tad bit excited. * Eric shrugs. "Ya need a fuel converter and an energy filter? Where do we get those, eh?" And this ship *will* be able to take us there? Propulsion... 'kay. ... hell, who knows if it's even the right time? Who knows how long it's been since our samples were taken? There's a .2% chance that the jump system will arrive at the systems star, but otherwise, yes. ( s/at/in. ) * Satoshi walks over to the guy. "I'd like to see those navigations systems now, actually." You have a Katie? How many more are there? How many can the shuttle hold? * Satoshi blinks. "What?" 20. Plus the pilots. Than we should be fine, don't worry about it. Satoshi, check out those charts then lets get moving. ... this's makin' my head hurt. ( Thats because Da Parties asking too many questions. ;_; ) * Satoshi eyes the guy. "Show me the charts, and explain what you just said about 'how many more'." How many more are with you? ( We just found out we're clones. I'm surprised the dumb street vigilante is the one asking these questions. =P ) * Man gets up, slowly, and walks to the pilots console, and pushes a button. Fancy starcharts 'n stuff pop up. * Eric waits patiently. "Oh, and Mr... what is your name, eh?" Ah. Two. Are there any more spare spacesuits? * Eric memorizes which button he pushes. * Satoshi watches the guy. "Haruko, take a look at this too." * Haruko walks over and does so. Doctor Dune. Eric, you too. * Eric looks. Eh... ** There's a 'You Are Here' on the starchart, as well as a flashy dot indicating J system. Note: There's no Earth where you'd expect it to be, but instead, another asteroid belt. * Eric frowns. "Eehhh... Okay, that's not good. Earth's blowed up." Are you *sure* that's the right system? ... blowed up? * Haruko looks horrified. I think that's a bit worse than 'not good'. Bordering on 'WHAT IN THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?!'. * Haruko puts a hand against the wall. "Are there any colonies on the other planets?" * Satoshi taps the guy on the shoulder. "Hey. Are you *sure* that's right?" * Eric calms himself. "Eh, we're clones with imported memories in a distant future where Earth no longer exists and we're being tracked by some killer robots. Think that explains it all." * Man looks at Eric. "If Earth was the planet that unexplainedly blew up several generations ago, then yes." Somebody... check and make sure the rest of the system checks out. * Haruko voice falters, "Were there any survivors?" And we're also going to all eventually die if noone gets those parts! ... dude, how the fuck are you so calm? The earth's *gone*. Everyone we know, or think we knew, is dead. And we're stuck here knowin' this because Docter Doom and his buddies here decided to play Let's-Make-A-SuperPerson. People in space, mars colonies? Anything? I've no idea on the populated status of that system. * Daegal glares at the man, and GLOWS. I'm only calm because I haven't let it sink in yet, and I want to make sure this is right before I panic. Believe me, if it turns out to be true, I *won't* be calm. * Man glares back. "And that'll be the end of it if you die here. And if the engine is not repaired, I assure you, we will die eventually." * Eric walks over to Daegal. "I'm calm because we have to be, dammit. We're in a life or death situation, and this is NOT going to end well if we don't think things through." * Haruko crying. "Damn it. He's right, lets get those parts." She walks back to the airlock. ... so my overpowering urge to bend this joker into a pretzel isn't a good thing right now? Right, we're *going.* We'll talk more later. There's no killing the Silvoids for good. They just keep coming back, and they'll break something critical or overpower us eventually. * Satoshi heads for the airlock. It's a good thing as long as ya control it, eh. Believe me, I'd love to fill him full of radiation right now. * Daegal gives the Man the ol' One-Finger salute, and puts his helmet back on. "We'll be back." * Doctor Dune glowers. * Eric puts his helmet on too. "Let's get the parts." ( ... Why do I predict you shoving him out of the airlock once you get off the station? ) (*shakes the 8-ball* Unlikely.) * Haruko waits until everyone is in the airlock and then hits the button. (Considering I could probably figure out how to fly that thing without him?.. Hrmmm...) ** Party rejoinage? (Yes.) (Yep.) ** Party rejoinage! The airlock shuts behind Da 4, and it's now safe for Katie to greet the returning war heros! * Eric looks at Katie. "Ya know what we were talkin' bout?" * Katie opens the door from the other side. She looks troubled, and a sketchpad is dangling from her other hand. "So, propulsion. There's two of those slivoids there." Do you know which engine parts we need, because I wasn't clear on that. Apparently they can't be permanently killed. But we *can* disable them. Or, at least, we seem to have been able to before. * Haruko nods. "Computer, could you bring up a picture of the fuel convertor and the nergy cell?" * RDMgryphon has quit IRC (Quit: sleepy sleep sleep_) * Brett has joined #oneshot ( Just watchin' ) ** The nearby map changes from a map to a diagram, showing off a fuel converter and a energy filter. * Daegal glows silently as he removes his spacesuit. * Haruko looks at it for a minute. "How about a map of propulsion, with the location of a fuel convertor and an energy filter." * Eric removes his spacesuit too. He don't look too happy, but at least he's calm. * Satoshi pulls his helmet off. "Should we take the suits with us?" * Katie flicks her eyes over them. "If they're not too hard to move in." ** It changes back to a map, zooms in on propulsion, and shows a more detailed view of it. 'Parts Storage Room C' is highlighted. * Haruko tests the airjets at their lowest setting, to see whether they work inside. (Good point. How hard are they to move in?) ** The airjets don't seem to do much in a non-vacuum. ** But they're pretty easy to move in. * Satoshi walks around a bit. "I can move pretty easily in it. How about you, Haruko?" * Haruko checks whether the magnetic boots let her walk on walls. "Oh, and please show the location of the silveroids in propulsion, and recommend a route to avoid them if possible." I'm fine. * Eric leaves his on, then. "Just don't get them damaged... Last thing we need is for all the space suits to be busted, eh?" Chances are, we'll get to meet whichever 'clone' is controlling the sliveroids. Particularly if he realizes we're ones, also. I think we better leave the suits here. If we wear 'em, and get in a fight, they might get damaged. But what if one of the sliveroids finds them? Let's go half and half. Not putting all of our eggss in one basket. All right. Haruko, Eric, want to leave yours here? ** The map adds two flashy red dots, near the engine core. The best route it shows goes directly above them, a floor up. Sure. We lock the door into this room. We can always get back in, but the robot thingees aparently can't open doors. (Any luck walking on walls with the magnetic boots?" * Eric takes his off. Yay! ** Nope. (Whoo, take it off!) (I'm takin' it ALL off... Or not.) Wait, wait. If we run into anything, aren't Daegal and I the most likely ones to go hit it? And possibly get hit back? * Haruko thinks for a moment. "Might make more sense for Daegal to take his off, as he's a fighter... Right. I mean, I'd like to avoid getting hit, but... yeah. Eh, I don't wanna blow a hole through the gloves. Perhaps Katie and I should wear one, as we're useless in combat. We can leave the other two here. * Haruko glances around to see what people think of the idea. ** If anyone bothers to check the grappling hooks, they still work inside, though. * Haruko checks while she waits. Can't leave any potential toys unchecked. * Eric nods. He throws his suit to Katie. * Katie catches it. Kind of. She picks it up off the ground and starts putting it on. ( Heh. ) * Daegal takes his suit off, stretching as his range of movement is now freer. He's *still* glowing bright red. * Katie hesitates at wearing the helmet, though. "Do I *have* to?" * Satoshi takes his off. "Okay, we leave two here and Haruko and Katie take the others." Nah, you can leave the helmet off if you want and just carry it. You might need your hands free at some point, though. * Katie looks for a place to put it. "So bulky. It'll muffle things, too." * Haruko keeps the helmet on. "Cool, grapnel still works. That might come in handy." (By the way, how bulky are these suits? Are they like the suits circa 2000, or sleeker, or what?) ( sleeker. Bulky, but not bulky enough to hinder you. ) * Haruko takes off a suit glove and pulls out the four feet of wiring she was carring from before. "You can use this if you want to carry the helmet on a harness and keep your hands free." * Katie gives up and puts the stupid thing on. "No, it's okay. I'll just feel like something out of Power Rangers." * Katie walks off, towards propulsion. "But I get to be the blue one." You mean Zyuranger? ( Katie gets the pink one. ) Yeah, that's the one. ( =p ) Eh? (Nah. Eric's the pink one.) * Eric follows. Okay, you can be the blue one and I'll be the black one. Seems fair. * Haruko gets walking and talks softly to herself. "Not really my show... huh, I'm a clone. Well, that's not so bad. Still have my free will and memories intact." (You *always* make fun of my characters, don't you Ard.) (It's her job.) Err.. I think I have my free will and memories intact. Can't really be sure I guess. * Daegal is glowing red. Guess which he is? Eh, look on the bright side. We're still in one piece. * Eric has red, blue, and green attacks. Pick a color! (Red and blue were already called. Green! Eric's gonna betray us!) ** Walkage! Without any annoying deathtraps this time! As you get closer to Propulsion, the number of bodies lying around subtly increases, till you're there. Door is not a door. It's an empty frame where a door used to be. ...once again, I will say that this doesn't look good. * Katie looks around. "Up. The best way to get there is from above, right?" Are there any of those things around here? ** You can see what -was- the door to propulsion a good distance inside. It's got a big shperical bump in it. * Haruko nod. "There's two. And yes, up." Eh... Shit. Alright, Eric, can you quietly make a hole in the ceiling? Maybe go a bit of a distance away from the door first. * Eric raises an eyebrow. "Sure can try. 's easier to go through the floor, though." Yeah, but apparently the safest route is a floor up. ** 'cording to map, there's a lift nearby which leads to next floor up. ... or we can take the lift. ... Yeah. Daegal's seen me try and cut holes through things 'quietly'. It don't work, eh. Let's hope there *is* a lift in there, then. * Haruko goes to find the lift and check out what shape it's in. * Satoshi heads to the lift. ( And shooting blindly in the vicinity of the main engine would probably suck, too. ) * Eric heads to the lifts! * Daegal follows the others. ** Lift is on your floor. As in, not in the shaft, it's lying to the side somewhere, horribly bent out of shape. But theres a shaft there, and a ladder leading up and down. * Katie takes the lift? They're british. (Is the ladder on the other side of the shaft again?) ...not again. ** There's a ladder on all sides, actually, and a 6-inch walkway around the inside of the shaft. It's not *that* bad. ( Yeah, the elevator already tried to smash someone, so it can't get you! ) True. * Daegal shrugs, and heads for one of the ladders. "Up, then?" Up. * Eric nods. * Haruko gets headed up. "Oh Satoshi, you could hold on to the end of my grapnel line if it'd help. Nah, I'll manage. I might acidentally pull you down, and then where would we be? ** Up, up and away! Next floor: NINJA DEATH ROBOTS, batteries, lingerie, and spare engine parts! * Katie starts climbing away. "Captain Planet, he's a hero... damnit." * Daegal starts climbing. "... hell, I could prolly carry all of you up if the ladders are a problem." Wow, and here I am, actually doing work. * Eric starts climbing. "Don't start, Katie. " ** But there's no NINJA DEATH ROBOTS, because they're all sold out. (Eh, the lingerie is probably all skivies anyways) * Katie grins a little. "Gonna take pollution down to zero!" (Pfft. No taste.) * Satoshi climbs up. "What are you singing?" * Eric shrugs and smiles, then. "He's our powers, magnified!" * Haruko shows no sign of recognizing whatever Katie is singing. And he's fighting on the planet's side. Eh... Ya ever see Turtles? * Haruko gets to the top of the ladder? and looks around. * Daegal mutters. "Well, that's one way'a coping..." ** Next floor looks just as messed up as the previous floor. But the lighting is better, because there's more live wiring exposed! Of course I did. When I was six or something. * Daegal gets to the top, checks to see if there's anything trying to impale people, then goes to help the people on the ladders up. * Katie continues, "And it is a coping mechanism, actually. I'm dealing with things until I can slug the messanger in the face. Don't want to kill him, but hurting's fine." ** No Silvoids, either. * Haruko looks for any live wiring that is in the way or looks ready to fall. * Katie steps out on floor two. Ding! She glances around. * Eric glances around uncomfortably. "Eh, cope. Right." * Satoshi is helped up. "Thanks, Daegal." He seems quite glad to be out of there. * Eric gets up before he does that. ^^; ... s'good hearin' you got. You have no idea. Sorry. Shouldn't criticize... whatever keeps ya goin', right? ** A lot of the wiring has already fallen. None of it's moving much, but it looks like it'd be hard to make it all the way through to the wire-free hallway beyond (which is the wy the map says to go), without brushing against a couple, at least. Eric, hand me that kit of yours. I'll clear the path, * Eric looks through his pack and hands Haruko a pair of wire-cutters. * Katie nods once. She's lost the smile and looks all business again. She puts a finger to her lips. * Haruko makes sure the suit gloves are securely on and gets to it. * Satoshi sees Katie and makes sure to stay quiet. (Preferably, don't breathe. It's so loud!) * Daegal nods back and makes with the being quiet. * Eric looks at Katie and nods. He takes out some wire cutters for himself and gets to it as well. He (Disregard that last 'He'.) * Katie says, quietly, "They're below us. About two rooms from where we want to be. If possible, we may be able to bypass them altogether." I'm not sure how big those parts are, though. We'll just have to see. * Daegal whispers. "Unless they're bigger'n cars, I can carry 'em." ** Eric, Haruko, mechanic rolls! (Wouldn't that be electronics?) ( Electronics is for like compooters and circuits and stuff. Not live wiring. ) 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6-5) and gets -1. (*shrugs) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (2d6-4) and gets 6. (Made it.) * Katie keeps looking ahead as she responds softly, but certainly louder than a whisper, "The problem would be getting them up and down floors without damaging them in the process." Not in your or Satoshi's ability to carry them. ** Haruko and Eric manage to fix up enough of the wiring to clear a path. But Haruko does it with -style-. * Daegal continues to speak softly. "Well, I can get down the ladder one-handed, so if I can tuck it under my arm... we'll see." (I'd expect nothing less from her. ^_~) * Haruko giggles softly. ( Haruko, that /msg scared me. @_@ ) (Sorry) (Haruko's a pretty scary character.) (She is. You should try reading her mind. ;p) * Eric cracks his neck and motions for people to come through the cleared path. * Daegal follows along. * Katie nods and walks after. Not as stealthily as Maria would, but she seems to have a good handle on making sure she doesn't cause a lot of noise. * Haruko scouts ahead a little. As quietly as she can. * Satoshi carefully walks through. ( This far in. Looks like Maria's not gonna make it. Whee! Someones gonna be missing a head! ) (Robin would be upset. ^_~) ** The hallway isn't in as much of a state as disrepair as the room you came from. There's rooms along either side, each marked 'Parts Storage ', starting with M. ( Open it. The mustard is in there. ) (... Mustard. :9) ( Maria's in there! She's filed under M! ) ** Around E, off in the distance, there's a hole in the floor, and light can be seen from it. * Eric stops and tries to be quiet. He looks at Katie wordlessly. ( I didn't make that one! I swear!) * Haruko stops when Eric stops. ( Whoever smelt it, dealt it! ) * Katie blinks. * Eric points at said hole. * Katie edges over to the hole, trying to get a look without getting too close. * Haruko looks for a space to use her grappling hook. * Satoshi stops when the others do, and peers over Katie and Eric. He sees the hole. (How wide across is the hole?) * Daegal blinks. A hole. Huh. ( descri coming. One sec. ) (The real thing that he noticed was the *light* coming out of the hole. Somethin's down there. Duh.) (Duh!) ** There's a glowy blue column, visible on the floor below. It's very very glowy, and thats whats giving off all the light. You can see a Silvoid pacing around near it, too. The hole itself is 4 feet in diameter, and takes up the left side of the hallway. ** The column is pretty wide, taking up most of the spacious room below. * Haruko looks back at Satoshi and quietly taps the side of her helmet. ** Storage Room C is right on the other side of the hole. (Other side meaning what?) (It's down the hole, or it's past the hole...) ( you're on your side. Then there's the hall, and past the hole, same floor, is room C. ) (That's what I thought.) * Katie frowns, then shakes her head. She waves for people to follow her as she walks - quietly! - around the hole towards where they need to go. * Satoshi walks quietly and carefully forward. * Haruko follows, keeping a hand on the wall as she goes. * Eric follows Katie. QUIETLY! * Haruko is also quiet as she can be. * Daegal nods, and follows as slowly and stealthily as he can. ** Everyone without Awkward autosucc's! Else, bod roll with Awkward penalties. 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6-1) and gets 9. (dr) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (2d6-1) and gets 2. (Whoo!) ** Everyone makes it across just fine. No falling or tripping to otherwise loud noisy things that could possibly alert the killing machines below to your presence. (Yay!) (Yay for not dying!) ** Storage room C! The desired parts are there! The energy filter looks like a giant frisbee, w'bout 2 feet in diameter. The fuel converter is a heavy cube-ish thing. (It's on our floor, or it's below us?) (And if it's below us, how'd we get in there?) ( How big, how heavy? ) ( your floor. ) ** The fuel converter is annoyingly heavy. And about 1 foot x 1 foot x 1 foot. (Eh, how big is the fuel converter?) ( >_> ) * Katie half-whispers. "One of you guys take each of those. I don't know which of you's stronger. You can wrestle for it, or just pick one." (Sure, you answer it RIGHT BEFORE I ask.) * Daegal tries to carefully lift the fuel converter, since it looks heavier. * Satoshi nods, then carefully picks up the energy filter. (The Fuel Converter isn't *that* big, actually. A 1 foot cube... Someone with super strength shouldn't have any trouble at all.) ** Dae has no trouble lifting the cube. Booyah. * Haruko lifts the cover of her helmet and totally whispers at a volume only Katie can hear. "I think I nearly lost my balance on the way past that hole. Any suggestions?" Crawl. ( ... oops. Retcon. ) * Katie nods. "Yeah, crawl." ( Wasn't supposed to hear that. x_x ) (... Does that mean I need to retcon, too? ;P) (*retcons*) (No, Katie heard it) (Oh.. wait) ( Consider it retconned. ) (Alright, Katie says crawl) (Right.) ** Gained key items: Fuel Converter x1, Energy Filter x1. * Haruko lets the people with the parts go by the hole first. (*fanfare!*) (*does a dance*) (* Robots hear the fanfare and dancing and attack! ) (Damn.) (Yup, victory sequences and stealth missions are a dangerous combination) * Eric keeps watch, and ready to blow the shit out of robots if they notice us. * Katie shrugs to herself and sneaks off first. Might as well catch things before we're on top of them. (Hee.) * Daegal carries the converter with both hands as he CAREFULLY walks past the hole. * Satoshi hauls the energy filter and very very carefully goes past the hole. * Haruko gets down on her hands and knees and follows. ( <_< ) (She doesn't wanna fall over!) * Haruko doesn't move too fast as she crawls back. * Eric follows Haruko quietly, making sure she doesn't fall. ( And staring at her butt. ) (It's a cute butt! She paid CP for it!_) (<.< >.> Shhhh!) (She's in a spacesuit, though.) ** Since everyone was sure to add VERY VERY CAREFULLY to their actions, they all make it! (Hooray for the power of description!) * Katie keeps going. The power of description is second only to the power of cheese. * Haruko gets up and gets walking again. She nods gratefully to Eric, as she didn't see him staring at her butt. ** Past the hole is the hallway, which is connected to the Room of Dangling Wires, which is connected to the Triggered Deathtrap Lift. * Eric smiles and continues, content that nobody noticed him staring at Haruko's butt. (No, he didn't really stare at it. Much.) (Ha!) ( Yeah. He's the pink ranger, he's not interested in -those- kind of butts. =p ) * Haruko gets walking back towards the shuttle bay, taking the ladder down as appropriate. (Shut up. I'm the green ranger. I get to be superpowerful and betray you later.) (That means you get to fight the red ranger.) (Ooh!) (Cool!) * Katie does, too! And shall continue to, until she recieves hint of random encounter. ** Whoever's carrying the Energy Filter down the ladder, bod roll, -1! * Eric does too! (That would be me.) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Satoshi (2d6-1) and gets 1, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "I'm down with that. You know me." (^_^_v) (He carries it down REALLY GOOD.) (Go Satoshi!) ((And maybe catches the other piece if Daegal drops it. How, I have no clue.)) ** Satoshi does a kick-ass job of keeping the thing that could 'ting' against the ladder from going 'ting' really loudly agianst the ladder! Go him! * Daegal heads down the ladder as well, carrying the converter in one arm as he uses the other to climb down. * Satoshi climbs down the ladder really, really, *really* carefully. Go him! ** Dae's turn! ( Does SS apply? ) ( Nope. ) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Daegal (2d6-1) and gets 7. ( -1 bonus, though. ) ( Made exactly. =P ) (Yay!) ** The cube wobbles kinda, but Dae keeps a good grip on it. Go Dae! * Haruko gets a quiet move on back to the shuttle bay once everyone is down. * Eric quietly goes to the shuttle bay once again! ** And after that attempt by the GM to KILL YOU ALL MERCILESSLY, there's not much more event, and you get to the ship bay without incident. * Daegal makes like the others. * Katie takes a deep breath. She goes to check the suits. I wonder if we should check if there are any other genetic samples of humans. But then.. it'd probably be better to wait until someone clears out the Silveroids first. Who else is going to? Whoever built this base. Someone lacking common sense. Do you think we should check? They might have been used up in the activation process, but then again right now we may be all humanities got. Would the computer be able to find it? Yeah, the computer should be able to read their vitals. Good call.. computer, are there any other samples from system J that are still intact? ** 'Negative.' Ehhh... Oh dear. * Haruko just looks down and doesn't say anything. Computer, please show us the location of all non-hostiles on this station. * Katie sets her mouth in a thin line. "It doesn't mean anything," she says, even as the computer processes her request. "Maria was able to get by sensors before." ** Map changes to show a general overview. There's Da Party where they are, Man nearby. * Satoshi frowns. Computer, do you know the status of Maria? The one who seperated from our group? ** 'Unknown.' ( .... I have the image of Maria pulling a Shadow and shwoing up at the very end. ) * Katie looks at the others. "We're not leaving without her. One way or another." ( And this'll be over soon. ) The suits check out. Daegal, Satoshi, you'd better put them on and get those parts to the ship. * Katie starts pulling her own suit off. "Here, Eric. You'd be better at installing them than me." Computer. Plot the path to theat you recommended to Maria. Right. * Satoshi grabs the suit he had before and starts putting it on. (to the bridge ^^;) * Eric nods and takes the suit when Katie's done. "Keep in touch?" We will. * Katie grins. "Always do." * Eric smirks. ** Map shows a new path, from here to Bridge. There's a flashy red dot at Bridge still. * Katie blinks. "Wait, she didn't." * Daegal nods, and starts getting his suit on. * Eric puts his suit on. "Didn't what?" Nothing. Go. * Satoshi finishes and picks up the energy filter again. "Okay, I'm ready." Eh... 'kay. * Eric puts his helmet on. He makes sure he has his other stuff with him. (Go Electrician's AND Mechanic's Toolkits.) * Daegal eyes Katie, then shrugs. "We'll be right back. Don't go pulling any stupid macho hero crap while we're gone. That's my job." *grins faintly* *finishes putting on his suit and helmet; grabs the converter* (You're still here, yes.) * Haruko stands next to Eric. "Nice tools, we should definately be able to handle this." * Eric smacks Daegal in the head. "Not without me you won't." He gives the thumbs up. "Ready." Let's go. (Whoever's in charge of opening the door, open it.) * Eric nods. "Always prepared." * Eric is holding stuff! * Katie laughs. "I'm far from a macho hero." She opens the door. (That's the spacesuit room door Katie? 'cause you're not wearing a suit now, right? ( I'm going to assume you don't do anythign stupid in this process. >_> ) (Yeeeah.) ( "Eric! Go long!" *tosses converter* ) * Katie closes it once they're through. Yeah. ;P) * Haruko says into the intercom. "Everyone secure yourselves and turn on your boots." She does that right next to the airlock door and opens it. * Eric turns on his boots and secures himself. * Satoshi does so. Hit it. * Haruko tries to open the door now that everyone is secure. ( who's staying behind? ) (Just Katie I believe.) (Yup! No suit for me.) * Daegal secures himself and the converter, andd turns on THE BOOTS! (THE BOOTS!) (BOOTiNATION!) ** Door opens! (DAS BOOTS, wait, no, that's a submarine thing, nevermind) * Eric proceeds to the ship. ** Feel teh suck. (Body rolls?) ( Nah. ) * Haruko says into the intercom as she walks to the ship. "What do we do we with the pilot? I assume we aren't trusting him with a working ship." I'll stay there with him. * Eric speaks back. "Of course not. I'm gonna try and get enough info out of him to pilot it. I *do* know how to pilot a plane, a space-craft shouldn't be too much harder." ( What, you don't trust someone who's kinda power-hungry and could be called Doctor Doom if you mispronounce it? ;_; ) (But we don't, because everything's translated perfectly.) (Gosh, I don't see why we'd mistrust someone like that.) Terrific! So, do we leave him in the station without a suit or what? I could break his arms and legs. Hey, if he wants powers, I can give him those. You know radiation *always* gives powers. Just look at the Fantastic Four and the Hulk. The who and the what? Superheroes. Ahh, okay. Like Ultraman. ( Oi. The #BESM crew always comes up with fun ways to beat up people, dosen't it? ) * Haruko shakes her head. "Uh.. he's obviously not a great guy, but we shouldn't hurrt him unless we have to. It's not like he blew up earth." (We have lotsa time to think about it.) Let's just take him with us and not leave any suits behind. Double protection that way. Yeah. Eh... We also need to make sure we don't leave anyone behind. Satoshi can actively read him in case he triest to plan anything. I can't think he'll be that great with telepathy at this point. (Wonder if we're going to run into whatever's controlling these slivery thingies.) * Haruko nods. "We can take him on the rescue mission for Maria." That's the plan. It's sort of like that puzzle with the fox, the hen, and the grain, except instead of wanting to get to the otherside we want to get on the ship, and the fox can pilot the boat. Hmm.. I'm babbling, sorry. S'okay. We all are, eh? * Haruko hits the open button on the airlock. "Yeah." ** Room for four! * Haruko gets in. "The alternative would be to leave a part behind, but I want the ship ready in case we have to make a run for it." * Eric nods. "True enough, eh?" * Haruko hits the inside button once everybody is in the airlock. * Eric is in! * Satoshi is in as well. ** Inside, you see: Doctor Dune, holding his head with both hands, eyes screwed shut. And Maria passed out, bleeding from the head, on one of the passenger seats. ...what did you do?! * Eric blinks. "What the hell's going on? " * Haruko rushes forward to Maria to see if she's still alive. * Dr Dune dosen't respond. He's kinda holding his head and shaking and stuff to much to pay attention to someone talking to him. * Eric walks up to Dr. Dune. "Snap out of it." * Satoshi sends a telepathic message to him, then: "What did you do?~ ** Maria... is not. * Haruko gasps out. "Damn it.. she's dead." She hurredly starts to take off her suit. "Someone needs to go back for Katie now and we need to get the hell out of here." Haruko, give me your suit. I'm going back for Katie right now. Yeah. * Daegal blinks, and his aura FLARES. He walks up to Dr. Dune and picks him up by the collar. "What. Happened." * Satoshi staggers back. * Haruko passes Satoshi her suit once she's out of it. She then futilely makes an effort to save Maria in the vain hope she was wrong. ** Dune flops like a rag doll, and starts shaking, like he's having a siezure. Guys, there is something *not right* in his head. * Eric takes off his suit as well, putting his hand on Daegal's arm. "Settle *down*. We got a serious problem here." Daegal, Eric, get ready to subdue him. I'm getting Katie. * Eric nods. * Haruko gets a hold of herself and wipes away a few tears. "Daegal should be able to handle him. Eric, help me get these parts installed. We need to leave this place before we find out what happened to Dune. ** A silver aura starts glowing around Dune, as his eyes open. Anyone still holding onto him starts getting tired. Ehh... Yeah, yeah. * Gets to work trying to install parts. * Satoshi RUNS back to the base to get Katie. * Daegal punches Dune in the face. Hee.. hee hee. He never thought to look for their master in his own head.... * Haruko gets working to install the parts, trusting Daegal to handle the creepy guy. (He's possessed! And me without my exorcist.) ** There's a sickening sound as fist meets face, and a sound like neck cracking. (* Haruko's a miko, but she's from a universe where exorcism doesn't work. :_; (When can we show up?) * Eric keeps installing. "He's not givin' ya too much trouble, eh?" ** And now's init! * Haruko works on the other part. d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Eric (d6+7) and gets 12. d6+6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Haruko (d6+6) and gets 11. (Should we roll now, or when we show up?) ( when you show up. ) d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Daegal (d6+7) and gets 13. ** Dae, Eric, Haruko, Dune. As this isn't exactly a roomy shuttle, everything's melee. (Call the turn, GM. ;P) ** Dae! ( I thought that was implied when I announced init order. >_> ) * Daegal *really* wants to fsck this guy up, but out of defernce to the others, he doesn't. Instead, he turns Dr. Dune around so he's facing the other way, slips his left arm under Dune's, his right across Dune's throat, connects his hands, lifts, and SQUEEZES. (KO Hold) 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Daegal (2d6-3) and gets -1, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "My momma always said, you gotta take the good with the bad. Here's some good." (That's that.) ( ... w00t. ) (Sweet.) ( ... you've just singlehandedly won the battle. ;_; ) ( Go Dae! ) (Yeah, Daegal!) (... You do realize Satoshi or I could have done that with a crit too.) ( But you would most likely have blown up part of the shuttle too. >_> ) (Satoshi doesn't blow stuff up.) (No, I just smack people into lampposts.) (And knock them off motorcycles...) ** Dune passes out, the silver aura fading. Two Silvoids start to fade into existence, but stop, fading back out. (Nah. Gamma Rays don't blow anything up.) (Oh, killing him's easy. Just chuck him into the airlock and hit the 'out' button. It's hold that's impressive.) * Eric DOES notice the Silveroids... "Get that guy out of the ship. NOW. " (But don't be too proud of knocking off motorcycles, as even Haruko can manage that. ) (That too. Satoshi can be badass in spite of himself.) * Daegal just snaps Dune's neck instead. * Haruko bites her lip. "Maybe Satoshi could fix... oh." ** That works, too. Dune does an even better impression of a rag doll that before. * Haruko concentrates on fixing the shuttle. * Katie comes running in. "Where's Maria? And what's going-" She stops. "Oh." * Eric works away. "Guess I'm learning how to fly solo. Could you dispose of the body... Who knows if that guy has crazy regeneration." Ehh... Yo, Katie. * Katie removes her helmet. "Satoshi doesn't. Why did you break his neck?" * Satoshi runs in as well. "He's dead?" Because he tried to summon those robot thingees. * Haruko says in a very unsteady voice as she works. "So's Maria." And it looks like he killed Maria. * Katie blinks. "What?" (Is Maria impaled like everything else?) (Head trauma) ( Nope. Just bleeding from head. ) * Katie tosses her helmet on a chair, removes her gloves, and goes to check Maria's vitals. * Satoshi blinks. And then blinks a few more times. "...that's... he was possessed?" Maybe? ** Nonexistant. I heard something strange in his head. Definately sounded like it. I hope it's not there anymore... if it got to him, and he took my powers... * Katie takes a long breath. It shakes. "Jesus Christ." She closes her eyes. "Yeah, she's dead. What did you hear?" There's.. nothing we can do for him now... search hime then toss him out. Just in case. It sounded like "you die too." * Haruko keeps plugging away at the controls. (or the parts rather) I- I don't know. If... he was the other clone, he... was obviously crazy. But that doesn't mean we are. ** Haruko does the mad partz fixing installing stuff. Yay Haruko! No. Let's get rid of him and get out of here. Can you take care of the rest of installation? I gotta figure out how to get us outta here, eh? * Haruko nods and takes over what Eric was doing. * Eric goes over to the pilot's chair and accustom's himself to the controls, reading a manual if any is given. * Haruko seems to be extrodinarly grateful that all she has to think about right now is fixing stuff. ** 'Pilots request?' (Eh? You want a Piloting roll?) ( No, it says that. ) * Katie opens her eyes again and moves Maria into a more 'comfortable' position. She closes the other girl's eyes, then goes to Dune, checking his body over for anything useful. Computer, check system status. ** 'Engine : Repairs commencing. Else: Genki.' * Satoshi sighs and sits down. He leands forward and places a hand to his forehead. Genki, Genki... Anyone know what a Genki is? ( ... thats right. Eric wouldn't get that. >_> ) * Satoshi looks up. "It means things are okay." (Considering everything's translated... ;P) (Duh. He's not Japanese. <.<) ** On the body is found: IDx1. Energy Pistol with a dead batteryX1. * Katie takes both, sets them aside, then says numbly, "Someone toss him out." * Eric nods. "Gotcha. Looks like systems are all up once you have that installed." He looks around for the standard rudder peddals, steering column, location graphs, and such. ** Looks a bit different, but similar enough that everything should do more or less what you expect. ** And more high-techy. Daegal? You mind taking care of that? I'm... a bit afraid to touch him. Just in case that thing's still around. Kinda silly, I know, but... * Haruko nods mutely and keeps working. She has no difficulty resisting her player's urge to give commentary on the status of repairs in a scottish accent. (Bwahaha!) (Haha!) ( hee. ) ** Haruko: Just 'bout done! * Eric nods and moves the seat to a comfortable position. "Eh, we're gonna need a destination. Where to?" (*snerk*) ( The final frontier? ) * Eric 's stomach growls angrily. "And a place to grab some food, eh?" Let's just get out of here. We can pick where to go once we're clear of the station. ** One of the gazillion compartments on the shuttle pop out some packets of food in a silver container! Yay! ** And pending anything else, twoshot ending soon. Gotcha. Tell me once you're done, and we'll get outta here, eh? * Haruko doesn't even acknowledge that and just keeps working. * Katie sighs, sitting on the floor. She opens her sketchpad and looks down at it. "Are we going home?" ** With a final 'snap', the energy filter slides into place. And she's done! ... Yes. Let's go home. * Haruko wipes her brow. "Done.. go." Yeah. Let's go. Computer, engage engines. Home'd be nice. * Eric tries to pilot the craft out of the station and torwards system J. Just be careful not to warp us into a star. 's why your navigatin', eh? * Haruko nods starts working with the computer to plot a course. ** The shuttle starts up, the hum of engines coming on. And Eric pilots it into position. The engines flare, boosters kick in, and they are OUTTA THERE! ** The handy dandy starchart and nav-system point out paths and stuff to get to J system. 'tis truly a user-friendly vehicle. * Eric eats food. * Katie just sits there, looking at her sketchbook. * Haruko picks the lowest risk path. * Satoshi moves to the floor next to Katie, and hesitantly puts a hand on her shoulder. ** Twoshot! End!
