[Everyone is gathered in a minimall parking lot a ways outside of London, sent here by directions from the SAB. This is the first time you've met each other and unless your backstory says otherwise your first SAB job.] [No one has shown up to greet you yet. So introduce yourselves and your rides.] [Session start] [Those with no rides under gadgets arrived here by transit or taxi] [Or superpowers. Those are also cool.] (Doesn't sound like the best idea, that.) (Who am I to judge. :P) [And, session started, whenever you people are ready.] * Ari got here by public transportation, apparently, as she has no vehicle with her. She also seems to have gotten there early, as she was waiting in the parking lot before everyone else got here. (Did the directions say I was to meet -a- group of people, or, was there enough description to deduce that this is the group of people I'm supposed to meet?) [The directions gave some vague details that are sufficient to identify these blokes as the lot you are to meet.] * Marcus stops being invisible. [Date: June 20, 2020. Weather: Slight ambient fog and little drizzle. Time: 8:31 pm] * Ari looks like she's in her mid-20s. She has shoulder-length hair in that shade that's not quite brown but not quite blond, and it's currently pulled back in a ponytail. Her eyes are green. She's wearing a gray t-shirt, a dark blue windbreaker with the hood pulled up, a faded pair of blue jeans, and sneakers. Overall, she's fairly ordinary. Not the type of person you'd give a second look to under normal circumstances. * Ari is about average height and weight, as well. * Jason rides in on a very sweet, very *loud* motorcycle: black and painted with red flames. He's dressed in typical biker fare: leather, jeans, the occasional chain, no helmet. He brakes to a halt near Ari: probably a little too close to comfort, but hey. "You're with SAB?" * Ari doesn't seem to be bothered. She nods. * Marcus looks to be in his late 20s. Short black hair, and cleanly shaved. Green eyes. Stands about 5' 10", average build. Wearing jeans, a black shirt, and a leather jacket. * Ari indicates Marcus. "I believe he is, as well." * Marcus walks over to Jason and Ari * Jason grins and gets off the cycle, removing his shades and revealing bright red eyes. He's a handsome enough man: mid-twenties, a bit taller than average, with a lean, toned frame, slightly spiked blond hair, and a silver cross dangling from his left ear. He holds out his hand to Ari. "Jason Ashton." * Tim arrives, no car, no train...no flashing lights either, just a faint a faint pop as an asian in his late teens with orange hair, black pants and a white t-shirt appears, "Well...I'm here...now what?" his accent proves him to have had an American teach him. "Nice bike. But you know, you're wasting a lot of power on noisemaking. Might want to turn down the noise." * Ari shakes Jason's hand. "Ari." * Jason rolls his eyes and looks to Marcus. "Who asked you?" "The bike did." * Ari doesn't seem startled by Jason's eye color, nor by Tim's rather abrupt appearance. So you talk to machines. That must be your amazing power, huh. * Tim makes his way over to the three people and the bike. You can believe that if you like. I don't mind. * Jason snorts and pulls a pack of cigarettes out of an inner pocket. "And you are...?" he asks as he shakes one out. * Ari shoves her hands back in the pockets of her windbreaker and watches Tim walk over. name's Marcus. Just Marcus? * Jonathon pulls up in a blue sports car fashionably late and steps out. His brown hair juts out in front of his forehead in spikes as he looks around, shades obscuring his eyes as well. He's dressed in a fashionable suit and looks to be in his late 20s, 6'2" and fairly athletically built. He has a black camera hanging around his neck with a flash and a blue duffle bag. He whistles as he closes the door and steps over towards the group. * Jason puts the cigarette in his mouth and secrets the rest of the pack back into his jacket. Just Marcus, as much as she's just "Ari". * Jonathon has a bit of rust colored to a vest-like portion of his suit and fleur-de-lis patches just below the elbows. The rest of his jacket is brown. * Tim continues to walk untill he gets to Ari, listening to the others as he goes, "I guess this is where I introduce myself. My name is Tim." * Ari eyes Marcus, her gaze steady. There's a slight smirk on her face. Then she turns to Tim and nods. "Ari." (And I got picture too! http://titan.zort.net/~gsanders/Jm2.jpg) * Tim nods a few times, "You...uhm...ever do this sort of thing before?" No, but I figure it should be interesting. * Jason grunts noncomittally. He looks up at the newcomer, then snaps his fingers, a small flame appearing on the end of his thumb. He shields that with his other hand, lighting the cigarette, and shakes it away. "Nah. How hard can it be?" * Ari nods. * Jonathon gestures out his hands as he walks forward and gives a faint smile to the group. "Well, the SAB crew I presume? How do you do?" His accent sounds like it's from southern UK. [Shortly after Jonathan pulls up an Austin-Martin convertible squels into the parking lot and does a screaching 180. A man in a fashionable suit and shades is the driver and looks over at the group.] "Cheerio, you the newbies?" Ah well, actualy I wa... * Tim falls silent at the new arrival. * Jason grins at the guy, slipping his shades back on. "Y'could say that." * Jonathon looks over at the convertible and takes off his shades, giving a large squinty-eyed smile to the new guy. "I suppose so. I didn't even get a chance to introduce myself though, but it's just as well. I'll save it for the interview." He puts his shades away in a jacket pocket and opens his grey eyes slightly. [The man stands up in the car and looks the group over. Well.. MI-5 is a bit busy handling the Manchester affair, so MI-6 sent me...] [And as he's speaking a floating craft that looks like a jellyfish enveloping a 10 m wide flying saucer decloaks above the car. Init everyone.] 2d8+12 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jason (2d8+12) and gets 24. (Like that?) (Jah.) (2d8+ACV+initiative modifiers) 2d8+9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ari (2d8+9) and gets 15. 2d8+13 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tim (2d8+13) and gets 25. 2d8+13 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jonathon (2d8+13) and gets 21. 2d8+5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marcus (2d8+5) and gets 10. [Ufo, tim, jason, jonathan, ari, marcus] [UFO snags the car in a tractor beam and goes speeding of down the road, but it can't seem to get more than 10m in the air due to the wait. The guy in the suit is cursing rather loudly] [Tim] [Poke..poke.. Tim?] * Tim curses loudly at this not being in the job description (And at RDM hitting the wrong buttons on the keyboard). [That it?] * Tim also tries to figure out what's holding the car up, kinda hard to move a car with no beam. (Actually, there's a tractor beam.) (Yah, was mentioned. ^^;) (How fast is the UFO flying away?) (I think he's meaning destroy what's generating the beam ^_^;) (rephrase, what in the ship is making the beam, if he takes that out, there's no beam.) [To clerify. UFO 20 meters in the air, car 10 meters in the air. UFO is now one round of 200 kph away] (Jesus Christ. The thing grabbed and RAN.) [The beam seams to be coming from the middle of the craft. The exact apperatus is unclear] [So, it's 550 ,eteres away. Jason] [Oh, and if my math is right. Multiply the KPH * 2.75 to figure out how many meters you move in a round] [For cars and such] [Sorry, was unclear. Jason. You're up] * Jason is back on his cycle. He pulls the cigarette out of his mouth and stubs it out on his offhand (don't want to choke on the thing, tossing it to the side, and starts the bike. "Jellyfish waits for no man," he says, ever so wisely. [Jonathan] * Jonathon sighs and gives a bit of a discouraged smile. "First second on the job and the director gets abducted. Now there's a scoop for you." He runs to his car and waves to the others. "Anyone who can't keep up with that thing, pile in." He flings open the door and tries to start it up while rolling down the drivers-side window. [Ari] * Ari jogs over to the passenger side of Jonathon's car, opens the door, and gets in. "Thanks." [Marcus] Jogs over to Jonathon's car and gets in the back seat. "I'll be coming with you, if you don't mind." ( try /me when you do things ^^) [UFO is now 1100 meters away but the vehicles are started] [Tim] (It was travelling for two rounds?) * Tim climbs into the car himself, "I don't suppose any of you have somthing we could hit that thing with?" This won't look good on my new record. [Grab and run was first round. This round it moved but didn't doing anything] * Ari shakes her head. "It's out of my range." That can be fixed...What'cha got? [Jason takes off after the thing while Ard is eating. She'll be sure to give cool descrip when she gets back I bet] [Jonathan] Potential access to its data, depending on how its computer systems are built. If I could throw that far, I would, believe me. [Driving check Jonathan and cool description time Jason] (Well, I would, but taking off wasn't my intention right then. Oh well. ;P) "I might be able to do something if you can get me on it." 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jonathon (2d8-2) and gets 5. [There is indeed no one to pick up] [Jonathan gains on the thing and looks rather calm while doing so.] [Ari] [Jason will maintain his place in init next turn. Don't think order should matter much at the moment] * Ari turns around and looks at Tim. "You have a way of getting us onto that thing?" * Tim shakes his head, "Several rare pets have proven that I don't, but...if you have anything you don't need to be there in person..." (Why can I not type coherant english tonight?) No, I'd need to be there. Or closer than its current height above the ground. I suppose I'm just along for the ride, then. At least for now. [Marcus then] * Tim sighs, "besides, if I could take you there, I could just take him back." * Jonathon calls over his shoulder, keeping his eyes on the road. "Non-living things then?" If we had a computer and wireless link, I suppose it might be possible to hack into their computer system and stop them. Yes, I could do that. But we don't have those things, do we? Laptop yes, wireless no. So it would seem. * Marcus does nothing else but ride along [UFO takes a potshot at Jonathon's car but the bolt of green plasma misses badly] [Correct! Jonathan] * Jonathon holds the wheel and sweatdrops a little, smiling squintingly. "Well. If anyone can reach my right wrist and take off the wristband, now would be a good time." [Roll for init Brett, we'll say Saki's late.] [Someone please fill him in.] [Jason] (Steering wheels are on the right side of the car in British cars, right? Or is this one that's built like an American car, with the wheel on the left?) http://dshadow.com/sab2020.txt * Jason zooms after the jellyfish UFO. He mutters some curse or another about the stupid thing having to fly and hits a button near his right handlebar, his bike speeding up considerably even as he weaves suicidally through traffic. And yes, Marcus, it makes a lot of noise. (British car. So yes, it's a bit of a stretch ^^;) (And since I'm sitting in the passenger seat, I'd have to lean *across* him to reach it. Yeah. Probably not going to work well.) [Driving roll Jason] (I'm fairly sure I wound up in the back, I'll say I'm behind him if nobody minds) 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jason (2d8-5) and gets 8. [Jason drives like a maniac and it shows. Of the two cars on the road both will be telling their children of near death experiences tonight. But because the UFO slowed to take a potshot, Jason's now with 200 m of it] [Oh, and let me know if I'm pushing this too fast. Want to get in a whole lot of play, but I don't want to burn everyone out.] 2d8+10 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Saki (2d8+10) and gets 22. [Saki then Jonathan] [Actually, Jonathan than Saki, gives me more briefing time] (Um...with Nitro, he's at 23. ^^;) (Well, I'm at... uh, what am I at? Oh! 29 now. ;P) [Good lord. Haruko would be so jealous. Still you're up Jonathan] (She should be!) * Jonathon practices on not veering off the road and damaging his goodly passengers. He'd get the wristband himself, but hands off the wheel going at top speed = BAD. "Stick your hand behind the seat, I'll slide over and take it off." [Driving roll. Doing what marcus suggests incurs no penalty] * Jonathon sticks his arm behind him and takes a deep breath. 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jonathon (2d8-2) and gets 6. [Jonathan does that cool thing where he's driving with just one hand on top of the wheel as the other his behind him. He's now 50 meters behind the UFO] [Ari: Saki is expressing techinical difficulties. Go for it.] (How come Jon's that much closer than me? He goes that much faster?) * Ari eyes the UFO. "This is where I wish I could fly," she says dryly. "But without a network connection of some sort, there's not much I can do at the moment." (Yeah, he's got you beat by a bit and his driving checks have been higher) I'll buy a wireless card next time in the shop. [Marcus] I'm sure they'll let me write that off. * Marcus takes the watch off Jonathon * Marcus looks at it to try and figure out why it's important [Roll for watch removal.. wait, no. :P] * Jonathon lets Marcus take off the silver wristband then gets his hands back on the wheel. "Press the second section on the right just before you stick it on the car. Should work. I hope." He gives another smile. [And marcus... electronics (er.. consumer electronics roll)] * Marcus does so * Ari eyes it. "What is it?" [Ari, same roll +1 penalty] Something useful for pesky aliens. Ohh? 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ari (2d8-4) and gets 2. 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marcus (2d8-2) and gets 5. (And what are you attaching the watch to Marcus?) (Is there any obvious metallic part of the car in sight?) (sure) (...the outside?) (I put it there, then.) [So Marcus puts the watch right on the outside of the car he's riding in, and suddenly Jnoathan's car slows a bit.] * Jonathon lets out a nervous smile and ahehs. "I meant....the car up there." * Tim snorts, "Give me the watch." Oh. *THAT* car. [Ufo goes first. It takes a potshot at Jon's car but totally misses, and infact hits the side of the car that it is carrying, causing the Austin- Martin to spin around.] [Jonathan +1 driving modifier for checks due to the extra dense car] (What? They got Neisis aiming that?) [But first it is Tim's turn] [The UFO is still 50 meters ahead of Jonathan's car, though he's no longer gaining on it.] * Tim holds his hand out to Marcus, "Let me try." * Ari shakes her head. "I did wonder what the purpose was in placing it on your own car." [We'll say Marcus can hand it over, but can't do anything more.] (holding action untill I get the watch) Well, I assumed the talk about teleporting it would have been enough to figure that out. * Marcus gets the watch off the car and gives it to Tim. [So.. Tim's held action time] You didn't say what it did. You just said to put it on the car. So I did. * Tim holds the watch flat on his left hand...concentrates...and then snaps his fingers for effect. (Aiming at the trunk of of the A-M) Yes, I realize that clarification is a much needed asset in certain situations. * Ari mutters something about the vagueness of the English language. (Penalties for spinning car?) [Gimme a power usage roll. No penalty after your bonuses] 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tim (2d8-2) and gets 7. [The UFO slows considerably as the car pulls down to the ground, with a crash that sounds like a badly damaged undercarridage. The agent cries out. "My car!"] [Jason you're turn, and you can easily overtake the UFO this round] (But we're not near the parking lot, so it doesn't matter. We can't hear him. ;p) (Isn't he still in it?) (He's still in the car. He never got out.) (Okay, yay. I'm in fantastic form tonight. -_-;) (Ari is not stupid. Kate is. I apologize. ;p) That poor car, such a waste on...er...He has good taste. Yeah that's what I ment to say. 2d8-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Saki (2d8-6) and gets 5. He's still alive, and the car can be repaired. I don't see the problem. * Jonathon keeps on smiling. "Well, it's better it get on the ground here than 20 kilometers in the sky, is it not?" [Poke poke.. Jason] True, but things like this hurt the resale value. * Jason keeps going at top speed, driving around the fallen car while losing as little as possible. The air around him heats considerably as he lets go of the right handlebar to let a trail of fire spiral down from his elbow and into his hand. He slows enough to lash out with it, a line of flames snapping back, then up and towards the UFO. (I don't even want to think about the penalties. What are they? ;P) [Oooh... that's worth waiting for] (::pulls off Jason's mask to reveal...Kyon!:: ;P) [+4 penalty, and steady hand type attributes count] 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jason (2d8-2) and gets 12. (... Okay, I did *not* make that because Dicey hates me. Driving check.) 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jason (2d8-5) and gets 10. (HATES ME.) [Jason's arc of fire cuts through the tractor beam but has no effect whatsoever, although the agent looks like he might have just pissed himself. The bike is a bit thrown off by the attack and wobbles dangerously...] [Jason tries to correct for it but quickly realizes he's not gonna make it so he screeches to a halt just before slamming into the divider wall of the highway. Burned rubber marks deface the road and the smell is heavy in the air] [Jonathan] (UFO's slowed but not stopped, correct? (::points out that nothing in the DR description says it has to be rolls that char made::) * Jason slams his hand against the handlebar, fire completely gone. "Damnit!" (Yeah, but save it for now) (right) * Jonathon cuts out the nitro now that the thing's going slower and reaches in his jacket, eyeing the craft carefully and keeping one hand on the wheel. "Well, with any luck they'll give up but I'd say they're not always the brightest in the bunch. I mean a MINIMALL?" [Driving check Jonathan. -3 bonus] 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jonathon (2d8-5) and gets 5. (That's so not fair. >.>) (*shakes fist at Jon*) (He's not attacking) ( ^_^) [Jonathan manages to keep the car even with the still moving and draws his weapon.] (And it's now going much slower.) (The nick says "Jonathon," but I'm seeing Aaron now. ;p) [Then out of nowhere a new bike enters the fray. A fast moving motorcycle had been coming down the otherside of the highway until it popped a wheely and jumped the divider. It's now coming down your side in the direction of the UFO. Saki, describe yourself] * Saki is clad completely in black leather, with a helmet covering her head. She (it's blatantly obvious she's a she) is riding a reddish motorcycle and driving like she 0wnz the road. (Yup. My kinda girl.) ( I made a character someone likes? <.< ) [Ari] (Oh, yes you did.) (Jason's patently insane, I think we've proven that.) (*smacks Jon*) (Oww. ^_^) (Shaddup. Cars are for wusses.) I don't suppose you have any more of those devices? Or any sort of spare parts? None that I think would be useful at this time. Sorry. Since you are more familiar with their capabilities, I'll trust your judgement, then. Why couldn't it be a car...or an airplane...something with nice clearly labled parts that if you remove it'll stop moving. [Marcus] ( Actually, the UFO has "Shoot here!" painted on the side. ) (How far away from the UFO are we?) (Within 25 m. You're driving along side of it, though it's still in the air.) (It's dropping though. Probably will be within 10 m next round) (But is there anything on the UFO that looks like an entrance?) [Bottom looks like it could open up] [UFO takes another shot at Jonathan's car, and he needs a ranged defense (automobile) roll.] 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jonathon (2d8-2) and gets 11. (Eee..DR) 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jonathon (2d8-2) and gets 7. [Jonathan sees it coming and manages to end up a bit closer to the UFO. Range is now 18 M] [Tim] I'm going to buy something nice and explosive when this is over... (that's it) [Jason you're still on the bike and are within 50 m of the UFO. Whatcha doing?] [Grysar waits this time for Jason to finish typing. :P ] * Jason growls, wheels around, and takes off after the UFO, but not, amazingly enough, at full speed. Heat builds again as the fire spirals to his hand, and he snaps another whip of flames at the UFO thing. Maybe he really can make his newfound boss wet his pants. (Driving roll, -2 bonus. Attack roll +2 penalty. Steady hand counts) (*cracks knuckles*) 2d8-7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jason (2d8-7) and gets 3. 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jason (2d8-4) and gets 4. [Jason catches up and literally drives circles around the thing while hitting it with a steady beam of fire. The glint of the flame also sparkles off his shades as he does so. Most of the flames are deflected by the crafts armor, but some get through, and it's now on fire and drops a bit more in the air.] [Saki] * Saki twirls a handgun around her finger once before pointing it at the UFO and firing, maintaining her speed normally (I hope). [Driving roll and attack roll] 2d8-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Saki (2d8-6) and gets 5. ( Made driving; here's attack ) 2d6-6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Saki (2d6-6) and gets 4. [Saki keeps her driving steady as she shoots a bullet into the crafts hull. Doesn't look like it did as much damage as Jason's attack, but it did penetrate the armour.] [Ari. You're turn. Craft is now within 10 ms.] (Yay, I can do stuff!) * Ari looks up at the UFO. Her eyes narrow. 2d6-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ari (2d6-5) and gets 4. (Evil stare, evil stare, burst into FLAMES!) (Don't need a stare to make you burst into flames, boy.) (This is Ari, not Robin...but I could be wrong) (We've already got one pyro.) (And how!) ( The UFO sweatdrops, which causes it to malfunction. ) 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ari (2d8-5) and gets -1. [The UFO stops cold, drops the tractor beam, and it's previously glinting armor is now quite lackluster. For the moment it's just sitting there.] [Marcus] (Does there appear to be a hole in it?) * Ari allows herself a small smirk. "I think they're having a system malfunction." * Tim blinks, "Niiice." [There's a few holes. Thanks to Jason and Saki] * Ari blinks, and her eyes flicker yellow for a second, before going back to their usual green. The fuck? (Large enough for a person to fit through?) [Sure, though you'd be going through fire.] ( If you can fit through a bullet hole, I'm impressed :P ) [That'd be the flame hole. :P] ( We need Kirby. Kirby can eat UFOs. ) ( You can make Kirby for this setting. But his name has to be "I resemble but am legally distinct from the Kirby" ) * Marcus floats up through the seatbelts, out the car window, and up into the spacecraft through one of the holes. * Marcus turns invisible as he approaches the UFO * Tim blinks, "These things shouldn't surprise me...they realy shouldn't..." * Jonathon just watches and gives another sweatdrop accompanied by a constant smile. I think I've established he pretty much is always doing that, so I'll stop describing it. "Well now, this makes it a little difficult to take his picture." [The UFO just hovers there burning. It's looking rather bad at this point.] [Tim!] (Jon == Aaron w/ camera.) (Aaron doesn't sweatdrop, but other than that, I think you're right. ^_~) [Jonathan, driving roll, -2] 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jonathon (2d8-4) and gets 1. (Oh, and Jon's better looking and has cooler hair. Aaron's just looks like it eats combs.) [Car's stopped. Assuming you want it to] (No, Rei's looks like it eats combs.) ( Heh ) ( That's funny to imagine ) ( TASTY!) ( I got my next MC villian planned ^^ ) (...great. Now Brett....see??) (I still think you should've gotten a hair attack.) (Maybe with the next CP I get.) * Tim steps out of the car and calmly walks over to the A-M, "Excuse me sir, we've come to save you." (Haruko decided against a hair attack. ;_;) * Tim fails to not smirk as he says that. [Agent stands up, brushes himself off, and puts one leg up on the side of his car to obscure the urine spot. "Well.. bloody good show then." [Jason] (Stands up? How big of a car is this?) Convertable. [Everyone's now within 20 m of the UFO. Car people are within 10 m] * Jonathon steps out of the car and closes it behind him. He takes up his camera and steadies it carefully, taking a couple shots of the wreckage and the car. "Well, there were some better shots while I was driving but this'll have to do." [It's floating but still.] * Jason keeps going, bringing his bike around and skidding to a halt, sideways, near the stopped car. "Anyone have any clue what the fuck Marcus is doing in there?" (Can we hear Jason?) Floating? Messing with their hardware? Taking pictures? I dunno. [Sure] I haven't a clue. I could try and bring the whole thing down, but I'm not certain that's the wisest course of action. Oh, so you're the one that did that. Cool. 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marcus (2d8-5) and gets 3. [Init's over for now] * Tim calls back, "Could you wait until I'm not under it?" [The agent puts the car in neutral and tries to push it out from other the UFO] * Jason puts another cigarette in his mouth, snaps his fingers, and lights it with his thumb. * Ari raises an eyebrow. "You want to be *under* it? For what reason?" Excuse me, sir, but I believe you'd have a better time if you removed that. * Saki drives up to where the others are and stops, pulling off her helmet and letting her long black hair cascade down to her waist. She's very beautiful, with a fair face and unusual green eyes (unusual 'cause she's Asian). (No, I'm with the car and the idiot under it right now) [Agent starts moving the car with much improved success. "My.. a gravity watch, what will Q branch come up with next?"] * Jonathon looks at the Agent and smiles. "Um, that's mine sir." 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marcus (2d8-5) and gets 5. * Jason gets a good look at Saki and brightens, but not literally. He drops the kickstand on his cycle and walks over to her, offering his hand with a cocky grin. "Jason Ashton. Nice driving." [The craft rises for a minute and then begins to slowly descend] * Tim grumbles and helps push the car. [Gimme a strength roll Tim] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tim (2d6) and gets 6. * Saki shakes Jason's hand. "Saki Morikawa. Ditto." 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marcus (2d8-5) and gets 4. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tim (2d8) and gets 7. * Jonathon opens his eyes and holds out a hand to the agent. His smile looks a bit like a smirk now. He takes the hand with a lean-back pose, one hand in his pocket. "Jonathon Marlyne, Deadly Sun." He looks over at Jason with a forlorn smile. "Shame I didn't get a picture of you blasting." * Ari gets out of Jonathon's car and watches the UFO descend. [Tim and the agent get the car away with some time to spare. You can see three gray aliens of the classical bug eyed sort on the inside] * Jason takes his hand back and removes the cigarette, looking over at Jon. He blows out a buff of smoke. "You'll get another chance." * Jonathon takes back his hand and releases it as one finger. "Hold on a sec." He turns to get a picture of the aliens. Snap. [Agent to Jonathan] "Wow, quite an invention. Have you considered coming over to MI-6, far more glory and travel than MI-5 any day I assure you. ... * Ari keeps watching the UFO, and her eyes flicker between green and yellow. * Tim mutters to himself in Japanese * Jason glances at the aliens and doesn't seem that interested, as he turns his attention back to Saki. "So, you do this much?" 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ari (2d8-5) and gets -3, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "I hate these guys. Give 'em one for me." I'm content with my work as it stands. Perhaps I can work in an interview though? (Is the UFO still "turned on"?) * Saki nods. "Could say that, yeah." She nods past him to the nameless agent dude. "That the guy?" [One of the aliens seem to be trying to do something at a control panel, until it explodes in a firey show of sparks causing the alien to quickly back away.] [The other two are trying to put out the fire] [Marcus is nowhere to be seen] [Sense checks. Sight or sound, whichever is better. HA counts] * Jason looks back. "Since he's the only one, I'd guess so." 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ari (2d8-4) and gets 4. 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tim (2d8-2) and gets 10. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jason (2d8) and gets 6. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jonathon (2d8) and gets 13. 2d8-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Saki (2d8-4) and gets 7. [Ari notice thats a transport helicopter is approaching. She figures it'll be about a half minute until it gets here.] * Marcus finds an exit and exits the ship. He flies back down to the car, and then materializes. * Ari points up. "Transport helicopter incoming. ETA: 30 seconds." "So, I don't think they'll be going anywhere any time soon." 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ari (2d8-5) and gets 5. 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ari (2d8-5) and gets -3, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "I love you. Do you love me too? Y_ N_" Oh, that's nice. [The aliens suddenly look very disappointed. One of them start crying as another taps him on the back.] * Tim looks, "How nice." * Jonathon shrugs and sets his camera back around his neck. He hefts his duffle under his armpit and walks over to retrieve his watch. ( Awwww ) * Jason would feel bad for the aliens, but he's a bastard and they almost ruined his bike, so instead he inwardly laughs at them. (I made the aliens cry! I'm such a bitch. ^_^) (Wow. He's so nice.) You know, you'd think that with advanced space technology, flipping the engine on and off wouldn't blow up the main navigation console. (*can't wait to find out the reaction to knowing he made the agent piss his pants*) [Shortly thereafter a two spinny blade thing helicopter lands nearby the UFO. It has MI-5 markings ....Yeah... * Saki finally gets off her bike now that she's sure the aliens aren't going anywhere. * Ari looks over at Marcus. "The users of this 'advanced space technology' also believed that James Bond was a real person. Their goal in coming here was to abduct him." [A rather dignified older woman steps out of the craft followed by another woman in priest garb. Followed by a half dozen agents in black suits who quickly apprehend the aliens and get to work putting out the fires.] * Saki watches the helicopter instead. Idly, she reloads her pistol while she's thinking of it. ... * Marcus laughs I saw some movies playing while I was over there. Is that what they were watching? * Jason puffs on his cigarette and doesn't make a move to help them. "What, not even a hi? Bloody inconsiderate." * Jonathon twirls his watch and sets it on his wrist before looking at the rest of them. He takes out a notepad and looks at the helicopter. "When you get a chance, if you blokes would be so kind as to give me your names and...oh." He notices his gun's still out and slips it back in his shoulder holster, smiling. "Sorry. As I was saying." It's very likely. [Dignified woman walks up and just catches Ari's explaination.. She looks at the agent with a stern expression] See what happens when you play at being a superspy. * Jason snorts and tries to choke back laughter. He fails. * Tim grins and shakes his head, "I might like it on this side after all." [Agent] You used me as bait! MI-6 will not stand for this... [Woman] And what will MI-6 think of requistioning their best car for a briefing mission? [Agent] ... * Ari smirks. Her eyes flicker from green to a slightly brighter green, then to yellow, then back to green. [The priest woman watches the scene with a slight scowl, though she smiles when she sees Jonathan.] * Jonathon writes down on the pad, giving a smirk. "Trouble in the ranks. Disintegration among SAB's top officials. I can see the presses rolling with it already..." ( Literal disintegration or structural? :P ) Put in something about their agent having a wet spot, too. [Woman] He's MI-6. He's not one of our people... Although as their agents were disappearing in England, we thought it was our duty to solve the problem. * Jonathon looks up at the priest woman and smiles back at her, flicking his pencil up. "Anything to add?" He lights up at Jason. "Ah! Right!" He writes that down too. Now now, the public is supposed to belive in these people. * Jason shrugs. He doesn't seem to care. * Jonathon closes the pad a bit and looks over at Tim. "I'm supposed to report the facts. If this is what's happening, the people have a right to know." * Saki rolls her eyes. [Priest] Oh, I'm not privy to all the details, but he really isn't our man. Oh...well, that's a bit of a pity. But it's a start. I did think you wanted better publicity though. * MI-6 Agent walks away rather flustered. He's trying to get the trunk of the car open without muich success. If you say so. [Priest] Well next time we'll take you on an Undead hunt. You've shown you have more than the necessary aptitude for that in the Campbell affair. ...Undead hunt... * Jonathon ahehs and smiles again. "Ah...you've seen my work. Really, it's not all that good..." [Beauracrat] Yes, Mary, I'm sure he'll be quite interested in your vendettas. * Ari frowns briefly. "I would prefer to stay away from those sorts of matters, thank you very much." * Jason decides this is boring and looks over at Saki again. "Hey." Mm? After this is all over, wanna kick around somewhere? I hear it's good to get to know the people I'll be workin' with. * Priest grins. "Oh.. I think the end of Campbell was handled quite nicely. Although doubtless it wasn't your doing and instead the beasts thralls turned on it. That happens all the time...." She's still grinning but it's a slight smirk, if a friendly one. * Saki shrugs. "Maybe." * Dignified older woman nods as the agents finish up work and call in a retrieval crew. "Alright.. well the jobs finished for tonight. Jonathan if you'd care to come with me I can fill you in on the rest of the details. * Jason grins. "Good enough for me, I guess." And he removes the cigarette, stubbing it out on his palm. * Ari walks over to Marcus. "So. If you don't mind my asking, what exactly were you doing up there? You stopped the engine, didn't you?" Smashing. I'd never turn down a private interview from you blokes. * Tim yawns and streaches. [Official] Financial reimbursement, as appropriate, will be delivered by the morning. Good work people... Ahh good, good. * OFficial walks off to the helicopter gesturing for Jonathan to come with her. * Jonathon follows behind, giving a faint smile to everyone. "It was nice meeting you all, certainly." [And as the time constraints on the rest of you aren't so bad, you can keep talking if you'd liked while I run and get a drink.] We'll probibly meet again...I'll be doing this for a while. Well, that all settled, I think my throat's a little parched. * Ari nods to Jonathon. "Thank you for the use of your vehicle. Perhaps we shall meet again." Anyone else up for a drink? * Jason nods at Jon. "You ain't seen nothing yet," he says with a grin. Of course. I do not drink, but I wouldn't be averse to speaking with all of you for a bit longer. Sure. I'm up for it. What the hell, why not? * Jason smirks, continuing to ignore the burning wreckage of a UFO. "Got someplace in mind?" No, I'm new in this area. Was hoping one of you had an idea. Can't think of anywhere where I'd like to show my face right now. Why? * Saki shrugs. "They're all the same to me." * Tim shrugs, "It's a long story, I'm sure you'll figure out most of it eventualy." Well, I'm hittin' the first bar I see. * Jonathon turns around at the mention of drinks. "Well..." He turns to the lady for a second. "Perhaps a bit later for that interview? I'll catch up with you later." * Jason goes over to his cycle and gets on, starting it up and revving the engine, probably just to annoy Marcus. [Official and priest both step on the helicopter now that the agents have reboarded. [Official] Certainly... not a problem. The priest looks a tad disappointed] [Helicopter takes off.] [A pieces of heavy machinery and a truck drive up and haul the now smoldering craft onto a flatbed. After a few minutes of work they drive off.] If you'd like, I can find where the closest bar is. Go for it. .... Can't fault their efficency. Ari, How are you going to do that? * Jonathon walks back over to the group. "I suppose I couldn't strand you here if you need a ride." 2d8-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Ari (2d8-2) and gets 4. I'm familiar with the area. (Suuure, Ari.) That's always a benefit, I suppose That works. (Well, I *am*. ^_~) * Saki climbs back on her bike and sticks her helmet back on. The closest one is The Lion and the Unicycle. Odd place. Usual clientele is cyclists and jugglers. You've gotta be shitting me. Try another one. Bicyclists, that is. Not motorcyclists. Aren't there any normal bars around here? Well, we've got two...never mind. I'm going wherever you guys are. I could probably juggle if I tried, but I've never seen the need. The next closest is O'Malley's March. Irish pub. Is that more to your liking? Yeah. Where's that? * Ari gives directions. It's about ten minutes' ride. * Jonathon flicks his shades out of his pocket and sets them on his face. (Which means Jason gets there in 5) * Jason already has his shades on, so no big. "Gotcha. See ya there." He revs the engine again (loudly, Marcus!) and casually breaks the speed limit. Bar fight- I mean, drinks, here we come! (Naturally.) Certainly an excitable chap isn't he? * Saki closes her vizor and tears off down the road after Jason. Or maybe next to or in front of Jason. Zoom! * Jonathon goes for his car. To each his own. [If everyone's agreed we can FF there. Anyone wishing to race should make a driving check. -4 bonus unless you're willing to actively risk life and limb.] * Tim follows Jonathon into his car. 2d8-10 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Saki (2d8-10) and gets -5. * Ari gets back into Jonathon's car, presuming he doesn't mind. Probably a safe presumption. * Marcus gets back into Jonathon's car as well. 2d8-9 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jason (2d8-9) and gets 0. ( I'll take the penalty. I made it anyhow ^^ ) (I'll take it too, because I'm freaking suicidal. Do we need to reroll, or can I just say I made it by eight?) [Saki wins this rounds although Jason is hot on her heels. Jonathan's car arrives like eight minuntes later. And he was speeding a bit.] (Yeah, cut down a ten minute trip to two. I'm there.) * Jason comes to a sudden stop outside of the bar. He's got an absolutely mad grin on his face. "You win this time." [Inside the bar. Less than a dozen people, more men than women. Big Irish flag on one of the wall and football/soccer is being played on a hi- definition TV screen.] * Saki hops off her bike and smirks. "I always win." [Bartender is leaning back behind the oak bar as the Barhelper2015 retrieves and cleans glasses for him] * Jonathon steps out of the car and takes off his shades, looking over the pub and walking in. His eyes first go to the tube. "Football. Wonderful game. A place with a little class is always enjoyable." (Invented by Ryan at Kaminari no Shimei. It has the right year.) * Jason smirks back as he removes his shades, revealing his red eyes. "We'll see." And he walks casually into the pub. (Heheheh.) (He's Irish!) (*cracks up*) [As Jason and Saki enter a lot of the bar patrons smile, although a few frown as they look at the ones they come up with. The women seem even more plaesed after Jonathan enters] (...) [Enough levels of Features [attractive] people? ^_~] (He's cuter than me? Damn!) (Hehe.) (*plots to kill off Jon*) ( How cute? :P ) (* is ordinary!) (;_;) ( <- also average) (Nobody notices me, and I like it that way. ^_~) * Marcus goes up to the bar and orders something [Jon's actually less slightly less cute, but he likes football, and that counts for a lot.] (Messed up.) [Bartender mixes up proper and puts it in front of Marcus.] ( Nobody notices me, but they should :P ) (They just like him 'cause he's a cross between Xelloss and Trowa. Now that I've broken your head...) * Jonathon gives a smile and flicks out his fingers in way of greeting to the patrons, looking over to see if anyone's looking particularly hard at him. (Oh, I noticed. *_*) (Trowa?) (See: Gundam Wing.) [Saki: Why do you think the men are smiling?] * Ari slips into the bar after the others and has a look around. ( 'Cause they're Irish? :P ) (That's Irish eyes, Saki. ^_~) ( Huh? @_@ ) * Jason looks the bar over, his eyes giving the faint impression of glowing in the dim light, and looks at each of the overly happy men evenly. ("When Irish Eyes Are Smiling." It's a song. You've never heard it?) [A pda on the bar beeps. The barkeep walks over to Saki and shows the pad. "So these three are all sending a drink your way. You accepting any of them?" There's pictures of each guy next to the drink so you can identify who is offering. They're standard pub fare, though one of the guess is somewhat ruggedly handsome. ( Mine! Hands off!) (Yes.) (Wow! Advances in bar technology! I'm impressed. ^^) * Tim walks into the room, but avoids making eye contact with anybody in there. ( No, I've never heard of it. ) (That's pretty cool, though! It's like the wired dating game.) ( Probably a good thing ^^ ) (It's TEH FUTURE after all!) (I don't remember most of the lyrics. My ancestors can rise up and smite me now. ;p) * Saki shrugs. "Sure, I'll take 'em." [For the record, there's foozball table. It's not a holofoozball table, just guys on poles that you can rotate.] * Barkeep grins and puts three different drinks in front of Saki. "Do try not to start any fights now please." (Ha!) [No one is noticing Tim, and while women are checking Jonathan and Jason out, no one seems to recognize Jonathan yet.] ( Do they have sound effects? ) [ Uh, it sounds like wood hitting a ball. :P ] * Marcus blends into the background * Saki picks up one of the glasses. "Not my problem if they do." She takes a drink. (Sadly, while bar technology has advanced, foosball technology is still stuck in the early 90's.) (it's 'retro') [In the background you here snippits of "When Irish eyes are smiling.. all the world seems bright and gay..."] * Jason has a seat next to Saki and lights up. He gives those men another glance before turning to the bartender and ordering a drink. * Jonathon goes to the bar and orders a Manhattan. If he notices the women, he makes no indication. [Holofoozball tables do exist for the record.] (Thank you, Greg. Now my ancestors can rest peacefully. ;p) [A few of the men eye Jason, but they aren't drunk enough yet for their hormones to overcome their judge opponent skills] * Marcus turns invisible and insubstantial, and wanders around the bar looking for interesting-looking people and eavesdrops on interesting-sounding conversations. (I give them five minutes.) (Generous!) (he goes to the bathroom first, so no one is looking when he does this.) [Marcus here's some arguments about football, and whether Manchester United should have made that trade. It's not particularly exciting.] * Tim sits at the bar and orders a drink that hasn't been invented yet. * Ari leans against a wall and watches her companions for the night. * Jonathon moves his stool up next to Ari and flips out his notepad. "So. If you'd care to tell me what exactly you did back there..." [Everyone gets the drinks that they ordered. Tim's swirls around in the cup, sort of like a potable lavalamp..] ( Some of us get the drinks we didn't order ^_^ ) ( Those already arrived. :P ) * Ari looks down at Jonathon. "What parts do you want to know, and what do you intend to do with the information?" Oh forgive my manners. Did I introduce myself? * Jason removes the cigarette, lets out a puff of smoke, and has a gulp. "Slow night?" he asks the bartender. Your name was... no. You did not. * Tim watches his glass for a bit, and then eyes the oversized watch on his right wrist. * Jonathon holds out his hand. "Jonathon Marlyne, Deadly Sun. I'm doing an investigation of the SAB. I'd like to give it the best angle I can, however.." [A few of the patrons go to play foozball while a mixed crowd starts a game of darts. One of the women seems to be eyeing Ari a bit.] * Ari shakes his hand. "Ari. So, you're with the media." [The bar operates itself for a few minutes as I grab a snack.] You could say that. * Tim sighs and lifts the glass to eye level, "to life and freedom", and takes a long drink. I just did. * Jason watches people get miserable, gets absolutely no answer out of the 'tender, and turns his attention to Saki again. "So, you're from out east? Not familiar with the name." [A few people drink to Tim's toast.] * Jonathon looks at Ari for a moment, then his pad and writes down "Very blunt and tends to take things literally." (He doesn't say that, just writes it) (Heh. And he's so very correct.) [Marcus, and anyone with extrodinarly good hearing, can figure out that the men are now probably two drinks away from trying to approach Saki, Jason be damned.] * Saki nods to Jason. "From Japan, usually." (And with all that alcohol in their bodies...human torch!) * Jason raises an eyebrow. "Usually?" Another gulp of drink. * Saki takes another sip. "I tend to travel a lot." [There's a woman whose about four drinks from approaching Jason, but only two from Jonathan. Cause Ari is less scary.] (I'm very unassuming. ^_^) So..Ari. You seem to be interested in electronics? Really? Never been out of the UK, myself. [Woman's winning at darts. And one of the Foozball guys does a little victory jig. He manages to make it look vaguely traditional and so avoids appearing to be a total ass.] * Ari nods. "That is true." * Tim takes another long drink. * Marcus goes over to the dart board and starts messing with people playing darts Frankly, most of the cities are the same things, 'cept people speak differeny languages. Mind if I ask where that interest came from? Why are you interested in reporting? * Bartender wanders over to Tim. "Something troubling you?" (the next person to throw a dart at the board, Marcus is going to grab it as it leaves their hand, and have it "fly" in a weird zig-zag pattern before plunging it in the dead center of the bullseye.) (while invisible, of course) * Jason smirks. "Good. Hate to think I'm missing out." He has a drag of his cigarette. "The UFO thing happen much?" (make an ACV strike check, -4 bonus) * Jonathon smiles and sets down his pad. "No harder than some other interviews I've done. I've been doing it since I was young. School newspaper and all. Life in general...I hope it was worth it... (unarmed attack (strikes) to be clear. and that's for marcus) * Saki shakes her head. "First time I've seen one of those." 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marcus (2d8-5) and gets 3. that's going to suceed by 3 Thank God. Thought the world suddenly got five hundred times weirder. Then you could say that I've had a lifelong interest in electronics. (Oh marcus, use () to offset make information) (oh, right. sorry) [A dart flies rather erratically to the dartboard. A couple of the players rub their eyes and one calls out. "You switched over to strong stuff Peter?" The barkeep shakes his head.] Perhaps linked to your abilities? I'm simply speculating here. People tend to... gravitate towards things they have a particular affinity for, don't they? * Barkeep "Ah.. just got married? I've heard many a man raise a similar toast shortly after the end of the honeymoon. Sometimes during." [One of the patrons starts fiddling with the darts, checking for mechanical parts. "I don't think I'm quite that drunk yet.. maybe it's one of them trick darts.] * Saki shrugs at Jason. "You say that like you've never seen anything out of the ordinary before, Mr. Fireeyes * Tim sits up and laughs loudly, "No, gods how I was that was it." * Jonathon whistles and avoids eye contact. "Perhaps. Perhaps. But it makes it particularly hard to get a statement." * Barkeep raises an eyebrow. "Oh?" (If the dartthrower attempts to "repeat" their feat, I'm going to again interfere, and cause the dart to nosedive to the floor, "fly" along the floor to the wall, then fly up the wall and into the dartboard just below the other dart.) * Jason laughs. "Well, if y'don't count when I look in the mirror every day..." (Make another ACV roll. Same penalties.) 2d8-5 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marcus (2d8-5) and gets 5. Not really, no. Let's just say I'm now employed for life, but I'm still not sure about my new job...interesting co-workers though. * Tim looks over at Saki. [Two of the dart throwers argue for a bit about use of trick darts. Eventually one shrugs and says he can't find any tech in it and throws the dart again. He's rather surprised at what happens.] * Jason flicks said fire eyes over to the dartboard. * Saki finishes one drink and starts with another, "Then we count when you're setting things on fire instead?" * Ari smirks slightly. "That's also true." * Barkeep glances over at Saki. "Seems like the aestetics of the job aren't so bad." * Marcus walks away from the dartboard, deciding he's had enough amusment * Jason grins at that. "Like I told that reporter, you ain't seen nothin' yet." [The three dart players go over to look at the dartboard. They all look rather confused, and a lack of sobriety ain't helping.] But how 'bout you? Anything you can do, 'sides from ride a mean cycle and shoot a fly at fifty paces? (What happens when they eventually throw the next dart on their own?) * Jonathon closes the notepad. "Perhaps I can wait until we've had a few more jobs then. I think our disappearing chap is having fun at other's expense though." He shakes his head. "I bet they're the ones that think it's all just a tabloid too." * Tim nods several times and takes another drink, "I liked working on my own though. Gonna take some getting used to." * Saki shakes her head. "Actually, that's about it." So you can shoot a fly at fifty paces? (And look mah-valous) Probably. * Jason leans on his elbow, finishing off his drink. "Gotta admit, I'm impressed." I shall have to look into your work. [After a few minutes the throwers give up, toss another dart with some force that ends up embedding itself in the wall. Barkeep glances over with a disapproving look and the two men go back to an ordinary game after declaring all bets are off.] * Marcus snickers to himself Oh, it's really not all that good. [The woman takes a swig of a black and tan and wanders over to Jonathan. "Hey guv.. you're that reporter from the tabloid aren't you. Come to investigate our mysterious dartboards?" Is that false modesty, or an expression of a sincere desire to improve? [Oh and guys seem about one drink from trying for Saki.] * Marcus returns to the bathroom, becomes visible again, and returns to the bar. * Saki is possibly aware of this, but if she is, it's not showing. * Jonathon looks over at the woman. "I suppose you could say that. What can you tell me about it?" * Barkeep to Tim. "I can respect that. Wouldn't want her as coowner however pleasant coming to work would be." [Woman sorta scouts her way between Ari and Jonathan. "Well did you see what just happened... One dart zigzagged and another flew clear around the room. Seems right up your alley pretty boy."] * Tim snorts, "Yeah." A dart did that? You're kidding. * Ari moves aside slightly so the woman can get through. If Jonathon wants to talk to her more later, she'll be there. Being ignored in favor of someone more attractive is not unusual, nor unexpected behavior. * Jonathon writes down...something. His handwriting has gotten surprisingly messier when talking to the woman. Almost to the point of being illegible. Fancy that. * Jason glances at the conversation with the woman and Jonothon, then shakes his head. "Looks like Marcus isn't that much of a straight arrow. What an ass." (Is Marcus within earshot of Jason?) * Dart woman nods... "I'm good, but I can't pull that sort of trick shot.. ::she then giggles:: Although, if you like I can give you a private interview if it'd help your reporting." (I don't care. You can be if you want.) (Marcus, up to you, if you want to roll for it do a . Hearing check, HA counts. -2 modifier) Mmm. * Ari smirks. * Jonathon starts to write something else when his cell rings and pulls it out. "Hello? Yes well..." He cups his hand over the mouthpiece and smiles apologetically at the woman and Ari. "Sorry, I have to take this." He heads outside to take his call. (Run, Jonny, run!) (Aww. *I'm* not scary. ^_^) [Woman looks disappointed and glares at Ari for a minute before finding a seat.] * Ari gives the woman a perfectly innocent smile, then wanders closer to where Jason and Saki are. [The foozball guy wins again and does another jig. it's looking less quaint and more like he's a jackass. The two men playing darts seem to have settled down to a normal but non gambling game] (Wow...that proves it...Tim is Max v2 ::shrug crumple-shreds sheet::) * Barkeep keeps drinks coming to Tim, although the service is getting a bit slower. He seems to be keeping an eye on him in a concerned but friendly manner. 2d8 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Marcus (2d8) and gets 9. * Ari looks at Tim, then walks over and sits next to him. "You've consumed a large amount of alcohol. How are your mental faculties holding up?" (Marcus is unaware of Jason's comment) (*snerk*) * Jason idly orders another drink. "I hate guys like that," he says, casually. He doesn't seem to care if Marcus hears him or not. Probibly not so great, not like there's much else I'd do if I was sober... * Barkeep brings one over. * Marcus hears Jason this time, and shrugs to indicate he doesn't give a shit what Jason thinks. * Jason nods and has a drink. * Barbot2015 wanders around collecting drinks from the tables and delivering replacements after the barkeep pours them. I don't know him. Would you like me to call you a cab to take you to wherever you're staying? What'd he do to you? I don't either. Don't really want to. * Jason smirks. "He insulted the bike." He pauses for more drink, then continues, "And he pretends to be somethin' he's not." * Marcus wanders over to Jason [Losign Foozball guy] I'd be kicking your ass if this dive had a proper holotable. [Winner] Bull, although you would do better, all those computers make it less about skill and more about luck. Oh, and here he is. Hey Marcus. And just what is it I'm pretending to be? Mhm....maybe after this one....aw great I'm probibly gonna be hung over if they call us in tomarrow...Gotta think these things through... * Saki turns so she's facing Marcus and Jason at the same time. [Barkeep] We do have some hydration pills in the bowl by the door. They do wonders for hangovers. From my past experiences, it's unlikely that you'll be called in the day after performing a mission. Or, at least, called in early enough to still be affected by the hangover. * Jason grins at Marcus. "The calm, collected, rule-followin' type who decides to mess up other people's games, then act surprised about it? I wonder how those darts got there!" There's nearly a hundred of them and he had to pick the two who never think. Who said I was rule-following? * Ari eyes the foosball guys. "And there's a *lot* of skill involved in using computers. Not just luck. Hmph." Ahh, that's good to hear...Never been on this end of a mission before. * Tim signals to the Bartender, "I'll try a few of thoes pills." Sure seemed like it. Don't really care. [Loser] Yeah, listen to her! [Winner] Sure.. programming skill.. but this is a game of reflexes, not cheating by relying on tech. [Loser] You calling me a cheater? * Jason has one last drag, then snuffs his smoke in the ashtray. "If you're gonna ruin someone's day, at least fess up about it so they know whose ass to kick." No sense in doing that. * Barkeep brings one over. "Remember those, these won't sober you up. And a glass or two of water before you go to sleep wouldn't hurt either." They couldn't kick my ass if they wanted to. * Ari looks down at Tim. "You adapt to it quickly. It's a necessity." (Marcus goes insubstantial, but remains visible. Just In Case.) * Jason raises an eyebrow. "Whose ass to *try* to kick, then. Maybe I should do it for them." * Winner snorts. "Naw... you're too dumb to reprogram the machine." * Tim nods, but it isn't clear if it's to Ari or the bartender. * Loser processes that for a bit, trying to figure out if that's a greater or lesser insult. You're free to try, but do you really want to start a barfight? * Saki turns back around and sips her drink. "I see what you mean." * Jason nods at Saki. "Yeah, toldja." * Ari shakes her head. "I've never really understood why people get worked up over games." * Jason turns back to Marcus, and his eyes flash. "Who said I was startin' anything?" [The entirity of the bar stares at Ari for a moment, and then goes back to what they were doing.] Heh, nearly everybody likes to win, and nobody like loose. Simple as that. (Lose!) (He's drunk. ;p) (It can be loose if he wants. ^_~) If you're not saying you're starting anything, I'm not saying you're starting anything. (bah! ::teleports a golf cart onto his typo deamons::) * Ari is stared at by the entirety of the bar, then shrugs and turns back to Tim. "If it was a life-threatening situation, then certainly. But really, does losing a game played while one is not fully in control of one's mental and/or physical faculties make one less of a person?" * Jason grins. "No, I think you did. And I hate disappointin' people." * Barkeep taps something on his datapad and Barbot2015 starts systematically storing some breakables. If "one is not fully in controll of one's mental faculites" does it matter to that person? I suppose not. Well, I think I've had about enough to drink now. Sure. Run away. Don't let the door hit ya on your way out. ....Although I seem to have more of mine than some people... * Ari briefly looks over the scene. "I'm inclined to agree with you." Well, then, I'll see you blokes later, I guess. * Marcus walks through the door, out of the bar. (Is that a literally through the door?) * Barkeep wanders closer to Jason and Marcus. He looks fairly relieved as Marcus walks off. (Literally, through the door.) * Jason watches him go, then has another gulp and slams his glass against the bar. "Damnit. And I have to fucking work with him." [A few of the patrons who sent drinks to Saki seem disappointed by the lack of fight, and then extremely confused.] * Tim rubs his forehead and ponders washing down one of thoes pills with the last of his drink, but eventualy decides that'd be counterproductive. * Saki finishes her drink. "If you're lucky, he'll get himself killed or something." * Barkeep turns over to Jason. "Did he just do what I thought he did?" Probly. You might not necessarily be assigned to the same team as he is for future projects. * Jason snorts. "I can only hope." On the other hand, you can't count it out entirely. * Tim shrugs, "The teams I've seen seemed to work together pretty well." * Barkeep rubs his eyes for a minute. "Amazing what tech can do these days." He then shrugs and goes back to work. * Marcus is now known as DShadow [The cute guy and designated leader of the group of Saki admires walks over at this point. He gives a fairly charming grin "We were wondering if you'd care to grace us with your presence ::he nods to his table::, as it is not every day such beauty graces this humble establishment." [A few of the women scowl at the guy.] [Saki gives a quick nonresponse and excuses herself to go use the ladies room. She doesn't do so in those words though.] * Jason watches her do that, then turns his attention to the cute guy, sizing him up. "How long'd it take you to think that one up?" * Man gives a noncommital grin. "Trade secret." He then wanders back to the table. * Ari snorts softly. * Tim watches Jason for a bit and then glances at Ari, "What's the company policy on bar fights anyway?" * Jason snorts, but not softly at all. [A few seconds later the door to the bar is kicked open, though the kick didn't seem to have much force as it doesn't really slam anything....] I don't believe there's an official policy- * Ari stops when she notices the door opening. [And in walks a woman clad in a moderately fashionable purple dress with a top made up of several intermingly sashes that look like they should be revealing but aren't.] * Tim winces at the banging door. [Most notable feature of this woman is that she's short. Really short. Four feet or so tall to be precise.] (Shorter than Chie! ^_^_v) (Tiny.) * Tim blinks at the teeny woman. [Purple] Ah... this seems to be the place I'm looking for. Your best drink please. * Ari looks down at the new arrival, then goes back to Tim. "As I was saying, I don't believe there's an official policy, but I'd advise against doing that sort of thing often." * Barkeep gets to preparing it. The barbot automatically closes the door shortly therafter. As her drink is being prepared, Purple eyes the room. * Tim nods, "Good I'd hate to get in trouble on my first day for something that probibly won't be my fault." [While her dress is fashionable, she isn't particularly attractive nor unattractive.] * Jason glances at Purple, but goes back to drinking and waiting for Saki to get back. If you're uncertain of your ability to stay out of a fight, I could call a cab for you right now. No worries there...I'm good at running away, he's ::nods at Jason:: the one I'm worried about. * Ari smirks. "I wouldn't worry. He seems very much the type to take care of himself." (Me? No idea why.) [Purple] Hops up on Saki's now vacant barstool and glances over at Jason with an odd grin. "Well... you're a more attractive dish than average pub fare." She's got a slight californian accent, and looks to be in her mid twenties. * Jason looks at her and grabs yet another cigarette, lighting it. With a lighter this time, yes. "What about it?" (Jason would die of lung cancer, but I doubt he'll live that long.) (*snerks*) * Purple smirks. "Probably not the most attractive lungs though." She takes the drink the barkeep drinks and downs it fairly quickly for one of her size. [Foozball game has gotten more competitive. Darts players seem bored, and the Saki interested men are sulking.] You're probibly right agian. I'm just not used to this whole team thing... If I cared about my lungs, sure. Need somethin'? Working with people is often difficult, but always interesting. * Purple swivels slightly in her chair. "Another drink... otherwise just looking to amuse myself and satisfy curiousity. Lion and the Unicycle was a total bust." * Barkeep brings another drink. * Jason snickers. "'Bout what? Jugglers?" [Purple stretches her arms above her head and grins] "Naw.. about the sort of people that can down a UFO. I was so hoping some of you lot would properly celebrate afterwards. And the vehicles match." * Purple then picks up her drink and hops down from the stool. * Tim nods, "I guess I'll get the hang of it, one of my mo...." trails off as the woman mentions this afternoons entertainment. * Ari looks over at Jason and raises an eyebrow. * Jason watches her jump down. "What do you care?" * Purple shrugs "Perhaps professional interest.. perhaps I'm easily amused." She then walks over to the dartboard. "Anyone care for game? I'm a gullible tourist, doubtless far out of my league in a nation of dart throwers." * Ari looks at Tim. "Want me to call that cab now?" Yeah, I guess so, if he gets in a fight they can't make it my fault. * Ari shrugs. "It wouldn't be your fault anyway." * Jason smirks. "Yeah, perhaps." He doesn't take the dart shark up on her offer, though, instead choosing to wait for Saki. There should be a pay phone just outside. Shall we? [A few players challenge her and she holds her own doesn't do remarkably well or poorly.] Sure. * Ari walks over to Jason. "It's been an interesting night, but I think it's time for me to retire. I'll see you in the future, I'd imagine." * Jason nods. "Yeah. Really, wasn't so bad workin' with ya. You got some neat tricks." * Purple gives a backhanded wave as Ari leaves. "Be seeing you." Thanks. Take care. * Ari walks back to Tim, and gently leads the drunken boy outside. * Tim grabs the pills of the bar and makes his way unsteadily to the door. * Purple seems to get bored with the darts fairly quickly and shortly therafter heads out of the bar herself. As she's leaving she grins back at Jason, "And I was so hoping for a barfight and a demonstration of your skills... perhaps another time." * Jason chuckles as she leaves. "Me too." * As she heads out the door she tosses a dart behind her back which manages to unerringly land in the center of the board. [End]
