[Mary Anne slowly wakes up, finding herself in what is not exactly the most comfortable position one could be in. She's tied to a wooden post stuck in the ground. Looking around, she sees she's in a small outpost, with four very crude walls. On one side is a makeshift pen, full of chickens, except they're thrice the size of normal chickens (after some thinking, she realizes their proper name is chikins.) ] [To one side is a crude gate in the wall. Flanking the other walls up to the other end are small, very tattered tents. And at the far wall is what looks like a small alter: made of stairs carved into a cactus stump. Two torches flank it. ] [In the center of the fort is a rather large cauldron. There, several creatures are gathered. They're about 4 feet tall, with brown skin and fur over their backs, large pointed ears, and squashed faces with pointed teeth. Most of them wear loincloths and carry crude stone weapons. One of them is wearing robes and a cap made from a horse's skull, carrying a wooden staff.] [One of the creatures stands on a rock near the cauldron and is tossing various things in it. On the opposite side, another is stirring, and more are tending to a fire beneath it.] "Oh dear, this is such a deplorable situation." (How is she tied to the stake in the ground. With robe binding her hands around the wooden post and behind her?) The better dressed creature notices you're awake and makes (his? her? you can't really tell) way over. ( Yeah ) ( Worn rope, but it's still strong enough so you can't break it. ) The creature speaks. "Is awake! Is awake, yes!" "Um...heh heh. Hello there." she smiles weakly It smiles toothily back. "Hello foodings." "You be good foodings, yes. Nice change for mughs." "Um...yes. About that." she looks at the cauldron "I am positive that I am not very tasty." "Oh, no, you be very tasty!" * MaryAnne says weakly "Heh heh." "What would be your name, if I may be so bold as to ask?" "Mughs live tough life here. Foodings is spinytree, cuttyfly and featherbeak. Featherbeak good, but not good for killings." "I see." The creature puffs out his chest proudly. "I be Ugh of mughs. I be workings with lightings and darkings." He leans forwards and smiles. "Ugh is smarts. Ugh comes up with smart plannings for foodings. Take foodings from others, leave not-foodings instead." He moves his staff to the side, and an image of Mary Anne appears, though faded. "Foodings understand, yes?" "Not-foodings is better in darkings. Fool other foodings plenties." "'Lightins and darkings'? What might they be great shaman?" He points upwards. "Is lightings now. Is darkings earlier." "I see. Mr....Ugh." "Did you happen to architect this fine structure that we're in?" "Ugh build with own hands!" He points at some of the others. "Mugh's own hands." * MaryAnne says inquisitively "I was wondering, just how did you manage to get me here? I don't seem to recall being abducted." and then says in a complimentary tone "You must be very smart. Mr. Ugh" Ugh grins slyly and is about to reply, when his ears suddenly twitch. He runs towards the others. "Foodings is comings! Foodings is comings! Get to featherbeakses!" The other mughs quickly abandon the cauldron and run for the chikins. They start to mount up. * MaryAnne watches as Ugh runs away from her. * MaryAnne attempts to wiggle out of the bonds (Ha! Not likely!) ( Pretty much impossible. ) (Acrobatics (flexibility) +4, Mary. ^_~) [Mary Anne tries and tries and!... Does not get free ;_;] (She would have needed a critial success - i.e., the rope was defective =P ) ( Yup :P ) "Well, I certainly hope they take their time." [The mughs ignore you as they start out the gate] * MaryAnne sits (or stands, depending how she is attached to the pole) there waiting and thinking about how she is going to convince the chieftain that she shouldn't be eatten.
