* Jinx rides into slowly into the village, trying to respect greeting customs as best he can remember them. * Jinx does his best to find a leader before the rest of the group arrives. [Go Jinx go, lookit him ride! The village is small, as stated before, composed of an interesting mix of tents and wooden buildings. Injun children are playing off to one side, and a number of adults are bartering at various lean-to's, probably set up in the morning and taken down before it gets too hot in the afternoon.] [A few of the locals look at you curiously, but most pay you no mind. You find the source of the smell: a large Injun with unusually dark skin is cheerfully roasting bison steaks at his lean-to, which seems to serve as a restaurant of some sort.] * Jinx dismounts and walks up to the Bison cooker. "Hail sir, that bison meat of yours smells amazing." [The cook looks up at Jinx, and says with a flash of white teeth, "I'm glad you think so, traveler. I'll have you know that I make the best meals in the area."] * Jinx grins broadly. "I was hoping you'd say that, could I perhaps arrange a meal for seven, I'll happily pay in advance of course." * Jinx removes his wallet, and scans the village as he waits for a response. ["Seven, y'say?" He looks to the spits. "Sure, I can manage that. Discount for you - I'll make it four a person."] * Jinx pays the man $40. "Most of them aren't Injuns, I wouldn't want to over indulge on your hospitality. But we're also looking for some information. Perhaps the name of the person to talk to and a meal for him or her as well." [He counts the money and tucks it away. "Nah, it's no trouble at all. Who do ya need?"] We're looking for information on some other travelers that past by recently, may have gone to an Injun villages. ["Hrm." He taps his chin. "Travelers, y'say? We've gotten some a few days ago... 'bout a half dozen of them. Just passin' through, stopped for a bite and some directions."] * Jinx nods. "They look dangerous?" ["They didn't do anything, but yeah, you could say that. Little shifty, but who isn't these days?"] [He goes back to checking on the food.] * Jinx sighs in agreement and waits a moment before speaking again. "Yeah, where were they headed if you don't mind my asking." ["Didn't say anything to me." He winks. "But I heard something about crossing the Salamanders."] * Jinx nods and throws the man another $10. "I didn't hear it from you. Although do feel free to spread around that Errant Hare is generous to his fellow man." He offers his hand when the cook isn't too distracted by the food. * Millie grumbles and rubs her head as she heads into the village. "I hope he doesn't try anything stupid.." (Offers his hand as in offers to shake, not proposes, just to be clear. ^_~) [He takes it and tucks it away. "Gotcha, Errant Hare." He laughs. "Tryin' to catch these folk?"] * Jinx grins, "You might say that, just don't say it to anyone else." * Millie rolls her shoulders and looks around the village, with her head turned, she speaks to the area in general. "Oy. Sorry ta bother ya but is there a medicine man or somethin' 'round?" [The cook looks at Millie. "'Ey, pretty lady. Yeah, there's one in there." He points at one of the wooden buildings.] * Millie nods and smiles prettily. "Thanks. How's it goin', Jinxy?" She waves idly. * Jinx nods. "She's with me. I better go see what's that about." He then walks towards Millie waving back. [He nods and goes back to cooking. Lots of people to cook for.] We have a meal waiting for us, and I got the information we wanted. What happened? * Millie suddenly loses her smile and whispers over to Jinx. "Tairan got caught up with a rattler. He wasn't bit yet, but...eh, if he makes any sudden moves..." * Jinx scowls and whispers back. "Shit, not his lucky day. Well, let's go to the medicine man." * Millie nods and heads towards the building that he pointed out. * Jinx tags along. He whispers to Millie as he walks. "According to the cook, we're going to be heading acrossed the Salamanders." [You enter the building! The walls are covered with Injun knicknacks, mystic scribbles cover the floor, and sitting in the center working on a potion is one very, very familiar Injun.] * Millie raises an eyebrow. "They went into slot-eye territory? Why there?" * Millie walks in..and slowly slows to a stop...and her jaw drops. * CrazyFeathers holds up a hand. "How. Can Crazy Feathers help you?" (Don't tell me. We're going to have the Ramen Guy effect here ;_;) * Jinx shrugs, he then turns to the Injun, not noticing Millie's response. "Hello, my name's Errant Hare and we could use your help." What can Crazy Feathers do for customers? Please...tell me you just have a brother in Redrock. Crazy Feathers have no brother. * Jinx then glances over at Millie, thinks about the name and puts it together. "We could use some antivenom, going to be traveling in the desert, might come in handy, you never know." ...right. Crazy Feathers remember customer. Customer call Crazy Feathers swindler. Crazy Feathers does not swindle. * Jinx raises an eyebrow. "An honest mistake I'm sure, perhaps I should handle this one Millie." * Millie looks at Crazy Feathers a bit, embarrassedly scratching her head. "Uh..yeah...about that.. Crazy Feathers have anti-venom. Crazy Feathers sell for $100 each. * Jinx grins a bit. "Well, I could see paying that much if I hadn't lived in the desert my whole life and didn't know how to avoid rattlers and make up the stuff myself given time." * Millie just grins sheepishly and lets Jinx do all the talking. * CrazyFeathers casts a gaze at Millie. "But Crazy Feathers must swindle customers, or he no live up to customers' expectations." * Jinx takes out a fairly small looking wallet. "Could give you $70, that's worth avoiding the hastle of the homemade stuff." Thought you said you weren't a swindler. You'd let something a customer say change that? Crazy Feathers only swindle people who think Crazy Feathers swindler. * Millie deflates and sighs, pushing her fingers together nervously and scuffling her foot. Well...I...guess ya sell pretty good stuff... Crazy Feathers like you, though. Crazy Feathers give you discount. $90. * Jinx glances at Millie, "Perhaps you should go check on the others." He then turns back, "Now I appreciate that, and remember I've called you no such thing." * Millie looks up slowly all big and sad puppy-eyed. * Millie pouts at Jinx. "But...but..." * Jinx grins. "You're rather cute, but I think the man's making a stand on principle." Crazy Feathers understands. But must make profit. * Millie droops her shoulders and mumbles out. "Millie hears ya..." * Millie quivers her lip slightly, looking at Crazy Feathers. "Um..." * Jinx dumps out the wallet on the counter, pinching a few coins so they stay in the wallet. ...I hope this doesn't mean you won't hold it against me if I want that gun later...will you? Crazy Feathers sold already. * Millie looks at him, and starts to say something, holding her finger up, then blinks. "What?" Crazy Feathers sold gun. To paying customer. * Jinx points to the fallen coincs. "That should be anout $75, should be a fair amount of profit. It's just antivenom, I'm sure an experienced medicine man like you was making that stuff like that before you could walk." * Millie looks down sheepishly. "For..how much?" * CrazyFeathers eyes the coins. "$75 is not enough. Antivenom magic; good against many poison. You pay Crazy Feathers $85. No less." For $120 * Millie blinks and looks up. "Someone paid that?" * Jinx laughed. "Well there's the problem, I'm just worried about rattlesnakes, I don't need an all purpose anti-venom, I'd hate to waste you're fine talent." Crazy Feathers does not carry antidotes for specific venom. Universal sell better. * Jinx sighs and fake searches his pockets for another $5, he goes to a good deal of effort to find that. I seem to recall my medicine man always having some specific antivenom ready for local threats. Good policy, if not profitable. Here's $80, that's all I got and as Millie already established she has no cash flow. * Millie smiles faintly at Jinx. "I guess I'll find out what's goin' on with the rest of 'em. Good luck in your business, Mister Feathers!" * Millie waves and turns out Charming Smile #54 before stepping out of the medicine hut. Medicine man out of town now. Crazy Feathers only one around. Crazy Feathers already give big discount. Will sell for $85. No less. * Millie stops at the door and sighs, turning around. "Alright, alright.." She pulls out a five and puts it on the counter. "How's that?" * CrazyFeathers grins. "Crazy Feathers sell you antidote." * Jinx nods and smiles. "Oh, I see, that makes sense, I'd been informed you were the medicine man, please forgive my presumption." * Millie lets out a wide close-eyed smile. "Why thank ya, Crazy Feathers!" * Millie turns around and waves off-hand to Jinx. "You two have fun now, ya hear?" She heads out again. * CrazyFeathers holds out a small bottle of purple-ish liquid with one hand while grabbing the money with the other. "No, thank YOU. Remember, you shop Crazy!" * Jinx grabs the liquid and smiles and waves as he heads out. * Millie frowns as she steps outside of the shop and grabs Jinx's arm as he comes. "Let's go." She runs, dragging him along. * Jinx runs along. [You run and run! Into the other channel!]
