* Millie looks around at the buildings for a good potential sniping spot. [The ruined buildings provide plenty of good views of the castle entrence.] * Millie finds the closest ruined building and crouches down behind some of the rubble, gesturing for Mary to follow. * MaryAnne struggles off Pepper and comes over to where Millie is. * Millie speaks low. "Miss Mary, tell me if ya see anythin' movin' in one of those windows." She has her umbrella open and just above both Millie's and her own head to provide some protection from attacks launched from high vantage points. * Millie crouches down and checks her rifle before readying the aim towards the entrance, pressing her cheek against the stock. * MaryAnne says "I'll try. I'm not really very good at this sort of thing." * Millie scans each of the windows in turn. "It ain't that hard ta adapt...if all else fails, pick a good one ta shoot into." * MaryAnne stays crouched right beside Millie. * MaryAnne trys to keep a watchful eye as well, as two pairs of eyes are generally better than one. ( Gimme hearing checks! ) * Millie twitches her fingers slightly, one eye closed as a smirk comes to her lips. "This is what it's all 'bout eh? It's almost over. We can go home, we can get that tablet back...an' ya can tell all the fellow Explorer's all 'bout it. I can't wait ta see what they say." 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Millie (2d6) and gets 4. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for MaryAnne (2d6-2) and gets 9. * MaryAnne says "It certainly would be nice to get back to civilization." [There's a noise! "Whoooo!" Millie figures (and really hopes she's right) that it's just the wind. Mary Anne thinks it's just the wind, but... what if it's a ghost?] * Millie twitches slightly but tries to ignore it. Wind is wind...right? * Millie keeps looking at the windows for any movement. So...Miss Mary? Any window I should shoot into? * MaryAnne says "They all look alike to me." * Millie grumbles. "Sometimes, I think Jinxy's got it right. Jus' roll the dice an' hope for the best." (How many windows are there?) [Ohhhh.... Let's say.... 11 windows and a big hole on the top right.] * Millie looks at the big hole and blinks. "Didn't notice that before." ( Gimme perception checks! (sight) ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Millie (2d6) and gets 8. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for MaryAnne (2d6-2) and gets 3. [They see sudden movement!... but Mary Anne realizes it's just a tumbleweed.] * John walks out from the castle, just in time to notice the tumbleweed. He eyes said tumbleweed. (It's an imported tumbleweed.) [The tumbleweed tumbles.] [Then someone comes out of the castle!] * MaryAnne says "Oh." * Millie aims at the tumbleweed, then notices the exiter and switches aim to him, eyes narrowed. * MaryAnne says "Is that Mister Rogers I see?" [Mary Anne realizes it's John. Millie don't!] * John smirks. "'could be." * Millie keeps her site on him. "Is it?" * MaryAnne says "I thought I saw a glint at head level." * Millie sighs and lowers her gun. (*cracks up*) * MaryAnne says "I think it is." * John laughs. "Yeah, it's me. We've got a lead. They took some tunnel under the castle... It's too thin for the horses." Darn. Running Cloud'd have mah head if I shot him then... * John made sure he was within talking distance before he said that. (^_^;) * Millie smirks as she stands up. "Well, jus' as well...I..." She looks slightly downcast. "Ah guess it wasn't such a good idea after all. It seemed like a good plan." * MaryAnne stands up as Millie does so as to not have Millie bop her umbrella. So, ya gonna come? It's what we're here for, right? Didn't think there'd be passages under the castle...there's....no skellingtons down there...raight? Don' think so. And if there are, we'll be sure ta shoot'em first. * MaryAnne looks towards Sakura and then back to John and asks "What about Miss Sword?" * John looks at Sakura. "We could just leave her here. It's not like she's in any danger, except from all the wondering undead we haven't seen around here. * Millie frowns. "Yeah..where can we leave the horses if we're all goin'?" * MaryAnne says "As much as I dislike her, I still wouldn't feel right about just leaving her out here." I'm....I guess people wouldn't come here ta steal anythin'...but still. Hazel'll wait for me where I leave'er. * Millie rubs her arms slightly and looks down. "..way too much dead risin' up...that jus' ain't right..that's..why I hate it here. It's nothin' 'gainst Mikky." * John nods. "Ah bet there's undead back home, too." There...is. * Millie shivers slightly at that, but doesn't say anything, walking towards the castle. Well, you wanna look after the horses and Sakura then, Mary? ( Gimme hearing checks! ) * MaryAnne says "Perhaps that would be best, but I don't really know anything about feeding them, so please try not to be overly long." 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6) and gets 9. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Millie (2d6) and gets 4. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for MaryAnne (2d6) and gets 2, a CRITICAL SUCCESS!!! "I'm a child of extremes. Have a crit, and a nice day to go with it." [John doesn't hear nothing. Millie hears a noise behind her. Mary Anne hears a footstep behind her.] * MaryAnne turns around suddenly to face the footsteps, as she wasn't expecting anyone to be behind her. * Millie turns around quickly, rifle levelled up in her hands at the noise. * John keeps waiting for Maryanne's response. * John notices the responses and looks in the general direction that they're looking. (It's a proven scientific fact people look in the same direction!) [Leaning against a wall is a dark-skinned Injun, wearing a combination of hide, leather and jeans. He's pretty handsome, with black hair tied into a ruffled ponytail and brown eyes. He's got a bow and arrows, as well as a tomahawk.] * John cracks his neck. "Fancy meetin' an Injun here." * MaryAnne proclaims "Oh my goodness!" * Millie smirks slightly. "Well now. We weren't expectin' company. If we knew ya were comin', we'd 'ave brought eats." * Injun lifts his hat slightly. "Fancy meetin' anyone here. But especially such lovely ladies." * Millie keeps the rifle aimed at him. "No sudden movements, short stuff." * Injun holds up his hands. "Woah, easy there, sweet thang." * John motions with his head over to Millie. "She ain't kiddin. Don't say anythin' wrong, otherwise she'll put a bullet in yer noggin." Less ya'd like us ta believe that an Injun travelled all this way, into a s'posedly cursed town jus' ta say howdy. * Injun waves a hand. "Howdy." * Millie 's eyes twinkle a bit as her grin widens, her trigger finger tensing and releasing as her barrel doesn't waver an inch. * MaryAnne smiles a little and says "Well, he does have a sense of humor at least." * Injun chuckles. "I try, ma'am. I try." * John smiles *ting*. "Yer a lousy lier, ya know that? What's yer real reason for bein' here?" * MaryAnne says "May I ask as to who you are and what you might be doing here?" So whatcha think yer doin' here? An' don't say somethin' silly like ya wandered off from the tour or somethin' Well now, I can ask you the same thing y'know. Ya can, but she's the one with the gun. * Millie smirks. "Ya can. We won't answer." An' pretty boy's got a point there. * Injun winks. "Then I won't either." * Millie smirks and adjusts her barrel just slightly over his shoulder, aiming past the injun and firing. ( Gimme an attack roll. ) * John smirks, not moving an inch when Millie fires at the Injun. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Millie (2d6-3) and gets 1. * MaryAnne says "I certainly don't mean to be rude to come off the wrong way, but you do seem disadvantaged at the moment. Wouldn't it seem better to satisfy our curiosity first?" It'd be much safer ta satisfy our curiosity first. Trust me. * MaryAnne jerks at the sound of Millie's gunshot. * Injun frowns, but still has a twinkle in his eye. "Now, that's no way to treat a man you just met. You don't know me any better than I know you." Nope. But now ya know one thing. Firin' on me like that. What if I was a great and powerful shaman, huh? * Millie cracks open her rifle and slips another bullet in her gun. "Ya know I'm not afraid ta shoot." * MaryAnne asks curiously "Are you a great shaman?" An' even if ya were...it's three 'gainst one. * Injun draws his bow and knocks an arrow to it the instant Millie opens her rifle. "Nope! But I'm a darn good shot." * Millie grins and snaps the barrel closed, regaining her aim. * John hasn't pulled out his pistols at all yet. "Yer a good aim, but I dunno if ya can dodge bullets." Three against one? Ya sure? * MaryAnne says "Well, I believe if you truly ment us harm, you wouldn't have been leaning against that wall, but rather you would have opened fire at us instead." * Injun smiles at Mary. "Good head on your shoulders. Why fight when we can have good times instead?" * MaryAnne says "Perhaps you mean no harm and if I so I do apologize, but you must understand that being out in the middle of practically nowhere, it's rather difficult to trust strangers at first sight." * Millie hmmphs. "So why'd ya stop here anyhow? I'd think she were smarter than that." * Injun winks. "That's okay, I don't trust you that much yet either." ["Who's smarter than what?" asks a female voice from behind you all.] I don't want ya ta trust me. Or even ta like me. That ain't what I'm here for. * John turns ta face the female voice. * MaryAnne says "I really don't believe there is need of a stand off at this point, but I admit I am curious as to your purpose for being here." * Millie doesn't move. She does lower her rifle just a bit though. "Well now. It figures." [It's a rather plain, widely grinning, female Shomuran with her long, straight black hair in a ponytail. She wears blue armor and carries a wicked Naginata, which she holds it like it was nothing.] * Injun grins. "You tell me yours, maybe we'll tell you ours, eh?" (...) (^^) (Of course she's plain looking. Eoi was plain looking. :P) Yer's smarter than that. * John smirks. * Injun shrugs, and manages to do it without ruining his aim. * MaryAnne says "Well, simply put, we are here in search of a group of unscrupulous individuals whom stole something that belongs to my grandfather and the society that he is apart of from a train as it was in route to deliver it." * Millie rolls her eyes slightly at Mary, trying not to let the Injun fully see it. * MaryAnne adds "We've been pursuing them for what must be around two weeks now." Ahh... The train robbery. We've been doing the same. Guess we have a mutual interest, eh? * Millie raises an eyebrow slightly at that. "...wait. Ya ain't part o' Janny's crew?" * MaryAnne says "And what might you be in pursuit of, if I may ask you?" Let me guess. Yer just bandit huntin' like us, eh? * Shomuran grins, but doesn't say a word. * Injun nods. "Sure am, pardner. Came all the way here in persuit of Calamity Jan." * Millie narrows her eyes delicately at the Injun. Her rifle's at least not tracking him any more. "What for?" Money. What else? That it? Ya know there's more than jus' Jan there, raight? * John chuckles. "A lot more than jus' Jan, if my guess is right." Yeah, figured. * MaryAnne says "Well, as far as the unscrupulous individuals go, my primary interest is the item stolen. As for the individuals themselves, I have much less interest in although my companions wouldn't mind the reward money I'm sure." But that's okay. Maybe they're worth more money, too. * Shomuran nods. "That's why he picked me up. Sorta needed to know the way of the land." Pretty cocky, ain't we? Takes one to know one. * Millie smirks slightly and reslings her rifle. "I LIKE that." * Injun turns to Mary, "Hey, whatcha looking for, anyhow?" The name's Millie. Millie Victoria Reinhart. An' if ya ain't heard-a me yet, I'm sure ya will remember it. * Millie flicks her hat up with her fingers and grins. * John smirks. "We gotta head down, anyway." * Injun grins and lowers his bow. "Call me D." * Injun is now known as D That's raight. Pleased ta meetcha, D. D, eh? Name's John. * Millie walks over to the Injun and thrusts out her hand, grinning with sparkling eyes towards his face. "Put 'er there." * MaryAnne says "A stone artifact of academic interest. As far as I know it doesn't really have much of a monetary value and it puzzles me as to why they took it. Especially considering the distance they had to travel." * Shomuran is grinning madly now. She stretches and twirls her naginata. "Stone artifact, eh? Dunno why a buncha bandits would want to steal something like that." * D shakes Millie hand and speaks to Mary. "Fine by me. Just want the money." * Millie winks at John. "Now I KNOW I got the custom raight." * John grins. "Yer way too happy, ya know that?" That ya do. * MaryAnne curtsies and says "And I am Miss Mary Anne Pippins of the Redrock Pippins and member of the Redrock Society of Explorers and Scientists. Please to meet your aquantence. * D bows to Mary Anne. "Likewise." * Millie looks over her shoulder at the Shomuran while she shakes D's hand. "As for you..I don't know what your deal is. But yer female an' yer not ooglin' over John, so that means ya got at least somewhat of a decent head on yer shoulders." * John considers questioning D as to why his name is only one letter, but he'll leave that until he gets to know them better. (It's not. His name's really Dee.) * Shomuran grins. "Yeah? Happen a lot?" She looks John over. * MaryAnne says "Most of the others are having a look about inside, following some footprints that they believe might very well be the individuals that we are in search of, although I honestly can't imagine what they would be doing in such a place as this." * John laughs. "Ain't it the truth. Let's get goin', I'm sure we want to get there before the fireworks start." Wouldn't dream of missing it. * Millie nods. "We'll talk 'bout it later, if we've got the time. Raight now, we've got someone held up down theres." * Millie walks to enter the castle. [Session End]
